What if…? | Season 1

So I finished season 1 of Marvel’s What If. I have mixed feelings about this show. On one hand the final 2 episodes were so so so good that it made me super excited for season 2. On the other hand, outside of a few episodes, I was kind of casually bored. Having said that, how they tie it up in the final 2 episodes and connect them all was awesome. Ultron an outstanding villain.

My favorite of the what if universes was probably the zombie episode. I also enjoyed T’Challa as starlord and Peggy as Captain Britain. Just wished I enjoyed some of the other episodes as much as I loved those 4. Anyways, excited for season

The Bad Batch | Season 1

So season 1 finished this weekend and my thoughts on the series are good overall but not as engaging as The Clone Wars was. There are some great episodes but also a lot of what felt like a filler episode. Now The clone wars did that as well especially in the early seasons and usually that played off later, so for me that is what has me excited for what is to come. I really like Omega, hopefully her “defect” becomes apparent next season. Can’t wait to see her special abilities with the rest of the team. I think it’s world is about to be opened up big time with that finale. Anyways, if you loved the clone wars, this is a fantastic watch!

Monsters at Work (S1E1)

What a fantastic Pilot episode this was. We got introduced with characters we love, but don’t linger on them as the new leads are brought into the show. I have an idea where the show is heading. The show takes place in the immediate aftermath of the original movie. Great start!

Flora & Ulysses (2021) | Disney+

So this is another Disney+ original movie. The pacing just seemed a bit off for me. This one and Timmy Failure the kid actors just seem like they are acting like they are in a slow paced movie and it just doesn’t mesh for me with the tone and plot. Besides that it’s a family coming together movie and the squirrel helps bring about that magic.

Godmothered (2020) | Disney+

An original movie for Disney+ I found this to fun. I didn’t find it to be the most original movie ever, but it’s designed for a family and I think it is great for that. If I had one complaint is that the lead role was written for a character actress and felt someone like a young Bernadette Peters would have killed this role!

This movie is truly beautiful. One of the best Pixar films and easily one of the best films of the past few years. Pete Doctor is an absolutely incredible director. His way through story and making you feel is second to none. I’m gonna sit with this one for a long long time. Just live 🤗

The Mandalorian | Chapter 14 & 15

Boba Fett is finally back and he is badass! Finally!! Grogu with that meditation and evil tendencies at the end. I hope the Jedi he reached out to is someone unexpected.

Chapter 15 is a Chefs kiss. Bill Burr deserves all the guest star Emmy’s for that episode. The mess hall scene is absolutely brilliant from all three actors. Mando going all “Taken” at the end of the episode. Bravo. But seriously that mess haul scene!

Star Wars Lego Holiday Special (2020) | Disney+

So the original Holiday special is so random, dumb, and awesome because of it. This is weird. Rey goes on a time traveling adventure through every Star Wars movie and brings characters from all timelines together and they fight. She wanted to see the masters teach the padawans so she could train Finn better. Darth Vader and Palpatine get the devise and then meet Kylo Ren.

The other characters are on the falcon with Poe trying to set up Life Day so that when Chewies family comes to visit its perfect. I honestly didn’t know that was Finn for half the special. Legit no clue. I mean, look at him 😂. Anyways, this missed the charm of how awful was the original one was. This was ok, clearly wasn’t for me.

The Mandalorian | Chapter 13

Ashoka Tano wrecking people with lightsabers, using stealth, and the force, yes please! Honestly my favorite use of a Jedi since the Clone Wars series. Plus we learn Baby Yoda has a name, Grogu. Dathomir connection in this episode and name drops. One of my favorite episodes of the series. Spin off Ashoka and let her go Jedi smash the galaxy.

The Mandalorian | Season 2 Ep 4

The 4th episode brings us back to the original planet. Horatio Sanz returns and provides a nice little comic relief. Baby Yoda getting those blue cookies was a highlight. Also with him trying to fix the engine, very baby groot like. The main part of the episode is them breaking into imperial base to destroy it and finding out that they need The Child’s blood for force clones. Episode ends with us learning about Dark Troopers. Baby Yoda is 100% acting like Baby Groot in parts.

The Mandalorian | Season 2 Ep. 3

This was my favorite episode of the season. Can we please give these 3 characters their own show? They hyped me up so much. Awesome to see Bo Katan in live action. Sasha Banks was also wonderful.

The Mandalorian | Season 2 Episodes 1 & 2

They started the season off with two world building episodes. First the Mando seeks to find more of his people and runs into a guy wearing Boba Fett’s Armour. He asks for it back and they go kill a Krayt dragon. It was awesome. The next episode we see him take a frog lady to a planet and they crash down in an icy spiders nest and horror insues. If you don’t like spiders, might want to skip this episode. Baby Yoda keeps doing Baby Yoda things. Can’t wait for the arching story to continue.

Secret Society of Second Born Royals (2020) | Disney+

So this is a new original for the streaming service. It is a 2020 version of Sky High. Coming of age story about being a team is better than individual. Overall I enjoyed it, but it is definitely geared towards a younger crowd.

The One and Only Ivan (2020) | Disney+

This original movie for Disney+ was a fantastic feel good movie. Great for kids. Enjoyable for adults. I had no idea this was based on a true story. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something bad with Bryan Cranston. Worth checking out if you are in the mood something light and easy going. Enjoyed the voice cast.

Howard (2020) | Disney+

So this is a beautiful documentary about the late great Howard Ashman. What a brilliant work and learning about his process. Howard died of AIDS during the making of Beauty and the Beast. I highly suggest you watch this one and “Waking sleeping Beauty”
