Nyx's Favorite and Not-So-Much - Kinda of Snippet I guess

Ugh, this is silly and dumb, but I needed to write it for some reason. My first time posting this kinda of thing, so not really sure how this all work. Also, warnig not-really-mor-or-amren-friendly-but-its-mostly-giggles (also english is not my first language, so bear with me here)

His first steps were towards Nesta's direction. His first words were “Nessa” and “ant”, those which Nyx didn’t stop repeating for days.

In no time, “Wann’ Nessa” or “Wann ant Nessa” became the highest demands in the residence of the High Lord and High Lady of the Night Court.

Feyre tried not to feel too bitter about it. Rhysand tried not to become too exasperated about it.

Nyx favorite person in the world was his aunt Nesta, and it showed.

He liked the rest of his family alright. He laughed at Cassian's silly faces and noises, slept soundly in Elain's arms, and even seemed to enjoy Azriel's quiet company.

But none of that mattered once Nyx's little blue eyes caught sight of Nesta walking into the room. There was no one else but his aunt, who gladly received and returned all of his attention.

Never mind that he mostly referred to her as an ant. The Inner Circle knew better than to delve into this fact for too long before passing Nyx to his favorite person in the world. If the little prince of the Night Court was not passed to his aunt in a matter of seconds the moment he saw her, he would wail. Loudly.

Nyx favorite person was Nesta and there was nothing anyone could do change his strong baby opinions on it, much to Mor's dismay.

Because Nyx doesn't particularly like Morrigan; not like the others anyway.

He wouldn't laugh or even smile at anything she did - no matter how hard Mor tried. Nyx wouldn't ask for to be held by or even look at her direction, even if she was holding something he liked. One time, Mor insisted on being the one to feed him during lunchtime, and Nyx refused to eat the rest of the baby food as soon as she held up the spoon.

She would go to kiss him, and Nyx immediately turned his head away. Would wriggle his way out of her hold when she picked him up, if not straight up puke on her, even if his parents had already burped him. It happened so often, that it became too obvious to ignore it, especially with Morrigan's growing frustrated attempts to change the situation.

"Maybe it's my perfume, and he does not like the smell of it!"

"Mor, I doubt that the baby doesn't like your perfume." Feyre tried to reason with her. "Just give him some time, I'm sure he's just not accustomed to you yet." And to that Elain made an innocent observation that this reason was 'odd' considering Mor was there when Nyx was born, which left some people to grimace while others snickered at Feyre hard glare to her sister.

It did not get better as Morrigan started to then be compared to Amren too, whom Nyx does not like at all.

When the ancient female approaches, his soft toddler features turn into a scowl. He was held at most twice by her, both times leading to Nyx crying strongly as if she had pinched him hard. On his first anniversary, the birthday boy kept throwing his new gifts in Amren's direction, as if they were its whole purpose.

Biting, spitting, hitting, and once even growling; Nyx had made it very clear that he did not like the Night Court second in command. If Amren was around, he would immediately become testy. And the feeling seemed to be growing mutual.

"Kids can be quite sensitive, I heard," Varian commented once, boucing a giggling Nyx on his knee. "Maybe he can tell that Amren is not fond of stinky, small, cutie babies, right buddy?" The Adriata prince's voice pitched higher notes as he spoke, eliciting a small shout of excitement from Nyx. Meanwhile, Amren schooled the pair of princes from the other side of the room, having been relocated there because, of course, Nyx was also in the room.

"But then why doesn't he like me?" Mor whined, watching Varian with jealousy. "I have nothing but my love to give him!"

"Maybe that's why he's not interested," Nesta added just a little bit under her breath. Mor's eyes shot back daggers at her, while Azriel and Cassian tried to contain their laughter, and Feyre immediately jumped in to avoid any conflict from unfolding.

"Amren, it's true. If only you warmed up a little bit more to Nyx, I'm sure he wouldn't be so wary of you," Feyre chimed in. To which Amren shot back, "Like I care what a baby thinks of me!"

The room erupted into laughter at Amren's retort, with Nyx joining in with his infectious giggles.

So, obviously, it's not supposed to end here, but I'm far back behind my actual priorities and responsibilities, so let's pretend that for now this dosen't suck cool? cool.

I just really wanted a story of nyx loving his best aunt nesta, and thought it would be funny if he didnt really care for the characters i also dont really care amren and mor. though i do feel bad cuz this seems to be more nesta centric, so some people might get disapointed. sorry about that.

Not Nesta just gaining without having to sacrifice anything, while Amren is now powerless and stuck in a body she's disgusted by

And what did it cost you? “Literally nothing the narrative has made it clear I am just as powerful if not moreso somehow? Idk just rolling with it!”

comicstorian is a youtube channel that summarizes comic arcs/character origins in short, easy to understand videos

lornahs has a lot of good character reading lists, dc & marvel

comic book reading orders has reading orders for almost all events & characters, dc & marvel

r/DCcomics’ wiki has a large recommended reading page & a newbies section for people looking to start reading for the first time

comic book herald has a list of reading guides as well as a where to start with current dc & a beginner’s guide to comics

the dc database has a recommended reading section

comics back issues has a list of reading orders as well as their guide to comics for new readers

hold up im reading more about the lionfish thing and this one island in Honduras has had such a huge problem with lionfish that the measures they have taken include

• getting special exemption from the Honduran government to allow divers access to harpoons and spears which are otherwise illegal in fishing

• public campaign to teach people how to prepare and eat lionfish (apparently they are very tasty once the poisonous spines are removed) (but watch out)

• holding lionfish combination hunting competition and cookout (reportedly they killed and cooked 1,700 in a day) (someone killed 60 of them with a rubber band spear gun???)

• most recently and apparently out of desperation, the divers in charge of culling the lionfish in the Roatan Marine Park just started. feeding the lionfish they killed to sharks. bc what else are you gonna do with it

• the sharks don’t seem to notice or be affected by the poison and begin hanging out with the divers

• the sharks then were seen hunting and killing the lionfish on their own

like this is nuts to me sorry. the sharks just had to be shown “hey this is food, did you know?? you can eat these!! here try one!!” we are possibly altering an entire foodchain bc we like feeding the big ocean wolves
