Hey, real talk for a moment though, I know Mukuro is not as bad a character as some Kurama x Hiei shippers make her out to be so no hate on her. Hiei and Mukuro’s relationship may be a bit twisted, but keep in mind that they’re demons. They have a different dynamic and that’s okay. I think Togashi-sensei’s main reason of putting them together is for them to heal together and well that’s valid too. 

BUT!

The difference in how Hiei’s relationship with Mukuro and Kurama developed is what really draws a lot of shippers to the Kurama x Hiei ship I mean...

Who has known Hiei the longest, like really know him, who took the time to KNOW HIM personality and all at their own pace? Kurama.

Who does Hiei trust the most? Kurama.

Who does Hiei have perfect battle synchronization with? Kurama.

Who’s closest enough to Hiei to see through his facade? Kurama.

Who’s always a 100% supportive of Hiei? Kurama.

Who encourages Hiei to take it easy from time to time and go out and make friends? Kurama.

Who keeps the door open for Hiei so he can still have that chance to be with his sister? Kurama.

Who literally keeps his windows at home and AT WORK open just in case a fire demon drops by and needs help with anything? Kurama.

And yeah I know that these things do not have to have romantic implications, that it can be just a friendship. However, that does not change how wholesome it is. How healthy it is.

Kurama and Hiei’s relationship,their friendship, did not happen overnight or by one measly battle with one another (Yes, I don’t believe they were instant friends after the Two Shots ova, but I believe they did gain respect for one another then). And perhaps it was unintended for them to have become as close as they have in the manga/show, but hey the best relationships are those that you do not plan for. It’s those that grew naturally that shows how great two characters can get along.

BUT THE POINT IS IT GREW GRADUALLY LIKE REAL HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS OF ANY KIND DO. IT’S REALISTIC IN THE SENSE THAT IT WAS NOT RUSHED INTO A COUPLE OF EPISODES.

And you know what? Hey that’s a great kind of love too.

Naruto left Konoha, INCLUDING ICHIRAKU RAMEN, to train with Jiraiya for 2-3 years just so he could become strong to save Sasuke.

He literally put Sasuke above, not only his dream of becoming Hokage (i.e. “How could someone who could not save a single friend become Hokage?”), but also above ramen.

And I’m supposed to think that his one true love was a girl he had to compare to ramen???

I’m sorry, but even though Naruto could have easily loved anyone he met, believe me he could, there’s no denying that Sasuke is #1 in his heart.

Hear Me Out...

At first, I thought the whole concept of Boruto wanting to be like Sasuke and Sarada wanting to be like Naruto was just some cheap trick to differentiate the two children from their dads and get the audience to see how original they are.

But the more I think about it, I realize that it runs much deeper than that!

I mean the two of them must've heard about the story of the bond that their fathers had.

(I mean, I'm pretty sure that the Boruto Movie Novel stated that Boruto knew that Sasuke was a man who was his father's equal since Sasuke can call Naruto without honorifics and Sarada is at least aware that her father and Naruto are friends)

It's pretty impossible to NOT KNOW about who Naruto and Sasuke are in Konoha, more importantly who they are to each other.

And perhaps the two children who wanted the attention of their fathers more than anything in the world, knew even on a miniscule level, that their fathers payed attention THE MOST to EACH OTHER.

So when Boruto says he wants to be like Sasuke, it's him wanting to be acknowledged by Naruto.

And when Sarada says that she wants to be the Hokage (read like Naruto), it's her wanting to be acknowledged by Sasuke.

And it just hurts because even their children can feel on a subconscious level that they have THAT bond. Like I have no words to describe Naruto and Sasuke's bond because it's just so powerful and all encompassing that they could make others feel it, y'know?

Ughhh this is so sad, can't they just let Naruto and Sasuke get together and finally get things fixed with their kids? Cause I'm like pretty sure SNS parenting them would solve this problem.

He loves him. Not because of his good looks nor because of the prestige his family name brings. He loves him, and it's not even about his skills alone anymore. The love he has for him is not superficial like the love all of his fan girls have for him. No, he loves him because the dark haired jerk never saw him as a monster. Not once. He loves him because he was unreachable and yet he made him feel as if he could reach him. He gave him a chance, more than once, and he could. They were equals. He loves him because when he had nothing and had nothing to give in return, he gave him everything at the cost of his dreams, at the cost of his own life.

I Just Want to Point Out

That Naruto, a boy who was able to fit SO MUCH LOVE AND FORGIVENESS within himself that his seal stayed intact for 12 YEARS of his constantly ridiculed life, was filled with SO MUCH HATRED the moment he thought Sasuke DIED in his arms that the seal BROKE and released the power of the Kyubii for the first time.

And Sasuke?

Sasuke was filled with so MUCH FEAR of losing Naruto that he REAWAKENED AND EVOLVED his Sharingan, which mind you, can only be awakened with the FEAR OF LOSING SOMEONE YOU LOVE.

And like I don’t even care if it’s platonic or romantic love anymore because this just proves that the importance these two boys have for each other is on a whole other level than your cheap average love story or whatnot. 

You’ll know at the end of the day that it has always just been their fragile, but oh so powerful bond that kept the story going, that kept them going.

I know that this opening scene is supposed to be Naruto and Sasuke looking at Boruto, but why is it drawn in this specific way???

Like Naruto looks like a proud dad yes, he’s happy as a man who has realized his dream. BUT SASUKE

Sasuke has that pure look of love in his eyes. His face shows so much unbridled love it squeezes my heart and from this perspective it looks like he’s looking up at Naruto.

He’s looking up at Naruto and it feels natural to see him do so.

Everything about this scene feels so warm. Feels so real and right at the same time. Because even when everything is different, this one thing about the two of them remains the same and it’s beautiful.

This is amazing.
