Products which barcodes start with the numbers 460 to 469 (so 460, 461, 462, ..., 469) come from Russia. By avoiding them you'll avoid indirectly giving your money away to Putin (the taxes the manufacturer pays go to funding the military).

Make sure to also check on the packaging where the product comes from as not all products coming from Russia are recognisable by the barcode. (You can be sure tho that Russia makes money off of products with the 460-469 barcode.)

The process of manufacturing and barcodes is pretty complicated so feel free to contact me for more information/sources.

How to help Ukraine from abroad?

With everything that's happening in Ukraine, you might find yourself feeling helpless and worried about the people living there (or even about your own safety if you live in Eastern Europe).

I find it's best to take those emotions and use them as fuel for taking action. Even if it's something small, it still might help you feel better and ACTUALLY DO A LOT OF GOOD.

So here's a small guide of what you can do:

If you have money:

There are many donation links you can find here on tumblr. Even the smallest amounts of money can help!

I'm sure that with a quick google search, you'll also be able to find donation campaigns from your home country.

If you don't have money to donate:

You can look for local humanitarian organizations/foundations who are supporting Ukraine. You can find them online (often on facebook). See how you can help them.

Don't be afraid to reach out to them and ask what you can do. There are many ways, other than financial, in which you can help.

Don't get discouraged if you can't find any local initiatives.

It may take time for local organizations to set up campaigns/events. Check regularly if anything has started.

You can also organize your own event/campaign.

Maybe there's nothing happening around where you live, and you don't have money to donate.

Don't worry! If you have the time and energy, you can start something yourself. Even if it's just a small charity or social media event with your friends and family.

Even the smallest actions count!
