blink and you'll miss it but i am crying laughing over eddie grabbing bill's ponytail and asking "what is this?? what is that?!" THAT'S HIS IMMEDIATE REACTION AFTER SEEING BILL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 27 YEARS he's making fun of him & he deserves it <3
The fact that some trans discourse is focused on neopronouns or label discourse and not the literal mass genocide we've been threatened with is baffling. Young trans people can want to use kitten/kittenself as much as they fucking want, maybe focus on the possible forced detransitioning and mass threat of death for trans people. This is mostly in America, but we can't just stop fighting because of a 14 y/o pronouns.
This is just a hc I have for Richie, but I feel like he would follow a lot of Eddie's allergies as kids. Say Eddie is allergic to nuts. Someone tries to hand Eddie something with nuts? Richie is yelling to get it the hell away from Eddie. I also feel like it affects his adult life. He tries to eat nuts, but personally can't because he never ate them as a child. I don't think it's all of them, but I feel like he at least feels on edge when eating some of them and he only connects it when he meets Eddie as adults.
Mike must have such severe PTSD from his parents death and Bowers's dig at that is obviously triggering to him, causing him to freeze up and struggle to take action because he was probably having flashbacks and intense memories to that night. He remembers every scream and plead from his parents and Bowers saying he wishes he had done it probably fueled both his inaction and action. His trauma is often overlooked, but everything he went through as a young child probably fueled his actions when he's older. His empathy, maturity, and love for his friends is beyond most peoples. He was not part of the town originally and was even rejected from the town. They didn't like him for being black and we're often shown that. He wanted to move to Florida. He could've probably convinced any of the other Losers to stay in the town. But he knew how painful knowing all their experiences would be for them and he understood that he was the one who should stay. He spent 27 years in a town he hated with a killer entity because he wanted to allow his friends to grow from where they were. He was okay with staying behind, even though he knew he would have to deal with the consequences. His emotional maturity and Empathy also stem from his traumas even before Pennywise. He had to grow up fast between his grandfather's intenseness and deep rooted trauma. He is well mannered and quiet because thats how he learned to survive. He is such a well developed character that I feel is often overlooked because he is somewhat quiet, but I absolutely adore him as a character.
Stanley Uris had a hobby in birdwatching, which is so fitting for his character because he "took flight" and ran away from the danger the moment he felt he needed to. Birds have a tendency to keep clean and will get stressed if it's not and, even though this fits Eddie, with many of Stan's tendencies I think it also fits him. He also follows the group very often, just as birds do. Although at the end of his story he didn't, the reason he even agreed to the oath was because the others did and he found safety in those numbers. Birds tend to be flock animals. This comparison isn't perfect, of course, but I think Stanley Uris acts like a bird and it's interesting to think about.
Pennywise could've probably lived if he just hadn't chosen Georgie. Like, Bill was a man with his sights set on revenge, the other kids just went along with it. He fucked up just by eating a kids arm. And I think about that a lot.
I'd like to remind everyone that seeing such a radical push towards the right and towards facism is a sign of fear. 60% of the US wants abortion rights, many Russians don't want war with Ukraine, I'd like to think all people in the UK want to be able to critique their government. We have the numbers on our side and the next generation is much more progressive and the people in power know this but they're hoping we tear each other apart before we see this. We're going in the right direction, the government just doesn't reflect this and if anything is trying to combat it.
