[10-18-2022] I FINALLY finished this 1/100 MG RX-78-2 Ver.3.0 (Gundam Base Clear Color) last night. I've been letting this dude sit on my desk for weeks (maybe months) when all I had to finish was an arm, the head, and the weapons. I've come to realize that I'm not the biggest fan of clear kits because the plastic is incredibly brittle. I snapped 2 parts in the legs almost immediately. If I had built the regular version, I'm sure I might've enjoyed the build a lot more but I wanted to do the clear one for my 50th MG. That aside, not too bad. I recently picked up the 2.0 (which is more anime accurate) but I think I'm gonna take a break from the RX-78-2 for a bit. Can't decide if I wanna go with another UC kit next (maybe Zeon) or move into another universe. [10-16-2022] I wanted to do an inventory on the PC parts I've accumulated since May 2022. I've been wanting to essentially build the ASUS x GUNDAM PC with out the premium cost (hence all the ROG Strix stuff). All I need now is the graphics card. I'm HOPING I'll be able to get one by my birthday (late November). Debating whether I should get a secondary monitor since the one I got is specifically a gaming monitor and I'll be more focused on content creation. [10-4-2022] You know what the interesting thing is? I've been DJing since 2011 but I was always too shy/insecure to play out. Even now, I'm still pretty insecure (hence the mask. Keep in mind, I've been masked up PRE-Pandemic. The face shield ended being more to stand out/separate from the "normal" face masks). I started to lose my motivation to DJ pre-2020. I even considered quitting entirely and selling off all my stuff. But, like 6 years ago, I was voluntold to play a gig and I was reminded why I even took up the hobby in the first place. [9-10-2022] Possibly an unpopular opinion but "posing for pictures is weird to me." I already feel awkward just being in pictures to begin with but if I had to be in a photo, I like those "caught in the moment" shots because it has a level of "rawness/authenticity" to it (but I get it can be difficult to capture because blurry movement and stuff without proper parameters). The idea of "posing in the moment" feels manufactured to me. That isn't to say that there's anything wrong with it; you want to put the best version of yourself out there. I want to ask my old GoGo/Model friends about it. I think it might be a different perspective. But also, I don't know how to pose or what to do with my hands. [8-24-2022] Other than food, I didn't really buy anything for myself while I was in Hawaii. So, upon my return, I picked up the PioneerDJ DM-50D-BT monitors from @milehighdjsupply for my future PC setup. I also picked up some Gunpla. One of the local HobbyTowns had all the MGs from "Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory". I used to have the GP03S "Stamen" but gave it to one of my nephews. So I might have to rebuy that one. I ended up picking up the RX-78-GP01Fb "Zephyranthes: Full Burnern" and the RX-78-GP02A "Physalis". These kits are incredibly old (like, over 20 years) and are in desperate need of a 2.0 but "Stardust Memory" has to be one of my favorite Gundam series of all time. [8-4-2022] I saw that my local MicroCenter got the AIO Cooler I want in stock (ASUS ROG STRIX LC II 360 RGB) so as soon as my lunch break started, I went to the store IMMEDIATELY to pick it up. Me, being very particular, examined every box to make sure I got the most pristine-looking one. A passerby customer started sussing me out like "HEY! Do you work here? Why are you doing that?" [7-11-2022] I built this MG YMS-15 Gyan over the weekend. Finished it in the wee hours of this morning. The build itself is fine. It's different from the Earth Federation kits I've built. However, the joints are pretty weak (especially in the arms). It doesn't help that the shield is super heavy, either (the elbow on the left arm is super loose so the shield needs to be held up with a stand. The connection mechanism just barely attaches to the forearm). The peg in the hand gets worn out quick so it barely holds the sword. Still, not a terrible build, I guess. Also, sticker decals are trash. [7-9-2022] Yesterday, I got an "inverse colors" version of the baseball jacket with my name on it. Honestly, I like the look of the black one a lot more. However, it feels a little tighter than the white one (I ordered the same size). I noticed the buttons on the black one are a little harder to snap. Maybe that's a good thing. Also, I think I messed up on which logo I submitted; it has a small black border on the lettering. I should've used the one without a black border because now, (I think) it doesn't look as clean. Overall, I still like how it mostly turned out. I don't have a large-enough fanbase to order more. It's more for me because I just wanted to see what it would look like.
