This journal won’t be for sale as I’ll be keeping it for my own personal use, but if you’re looking for a handmade journal or sketchbook, may I suggest taking a look at my website?
As reading is not just a hobby but a passion of mine, it would probably go without saying that I read books in various formats too. Each format has their own strengths and weaknesses, and I may cover those another time. Today, I’ll be talking a bit about kindle books or, more specifically, the benefits I find in using Amazon’s ebook service through the kindle app.
The biggest reason I currently enjoy the kindle app is that it makes reading more rewarding through gamifying reading.
Kindle allows you to participate in quarterly reading challenges throughout the year. It’s quite basic and non-competitive, as you unlock achievements based upon predetermined conditions, yet it makes my reading feel slightly more enjoyable and rewarding. Please keep in mind that Amazon has engineered the app this way not solely for user enjoyment, but to generate revenue. After all, in order to participate it’s expected that you’ll be purchasing kindle books. For someone that lives and breathes books, like me, it’s not much of an issue but still something to be aware of.
I also enjoy that I can see my reading statistics through the kindle app. It’s enjoyable for me to be able to quantify one of my greatest passions in life.
If you enjoy reading on kindle, I’d recommend checking out these two features.
Another of my hobbies, albeit not necessarily an entertaining one, is cooking and food presentation. I found this at the local Target store today, and am excited to put it to use.
For those who may not be aware, reading is my main source of entertainment and enjoyment. If you enjoy reading and haven’t heard of the website, I highly suggest checking out Goodreads and creating an account.
