Here's a little something from my days on ask-a-robin. And for those who aren't watching the dog show today, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi won 1st in the Herding group!!
Thanksgiving Traditions -- Tim Drake x Reader, Batfamily x Reader
Happy Thanksgiving lovelies!! This is one of my favorite holidays and I felt the need to write a prompt for today! I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving and are surrounded by the people who love you. So, from all of us here at ask-a-robin, have a fantastic Thanksgiving!!
Word Count: 673
“This is ridiculous. Why do I have to watch this obnoxious parade?”
“Did I mention that there’s a dog show afterwards?” You asked sweetly.
Damian scoffed but seemed to settle into his seat on the couch. Your boyfriend chuckled at his brother’s actions. You both knew asking Damian to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was a long shot, but for some reason he had agreed. You secretly believed Bruce had coerced him into it. Or it could be that the Son of Batman was starting to feel the holiday spirit. Either way, you were happy to have the extra company.
You snuggled in closer to Tim’s side as you watched the parade. He put his arm around your shoulders and gave your upper arm a gentle squeeze. Unlike the rest of his brothers, Tim had lived a relatively normal childhood, so doing mundane things like watching parades and having big dinners for Thanksgiving wasn’t as alien to him. He was more than willing to spend the better part of the day with you watching the parade and then the dog show. The fact that one of his siblings was also present was an added bonus.
An overly dramatic gasp drew your attention away from the marching band that had just started to perform on-screen. “You guys are watching the parade without me?!”
“Don’t sound so offended Grayson. It’s just a parade.”
“A parade,” Dick said as he dropped into the open armchair near his youngest brother, “that only happens once a year!”
“I never imagined you would be so into this parade Dick.”
“Are you kidding? This is a Wayne family time honored tradition!”
You gave the first Boy Wonder a droll look. “Really? Bruce would sit down with all of you and watch the parade?”
“I never said that. Still doesn’t mean I skipped watching it.”
Your expression softened at his last comment. The image of a young Dick sitting by himself in the TV room watching the parade all alone made your heart ache. You understood that Bruce’s job as both the CEO of Wayne Enterprises and as Batman kept him constantly busy, but that didn’t make it any more understandable as to why he would leave his sons to their own devices. It’s no wonder all of them joined the vigilante game.
The room fell back to silence as the four of you watched the parade. A snide remark from Damian here and there was all the conversation that went on.
It was about half way through the parade when Alfred stepped into the room. “Ah, I’d wondered where you all had wondered off to.”
“Happy Thanksgiving Alfred!” You chirped happily which made the butler chuckle.
“One ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ will suffice for the day Miss (Y/N).”
Tim motioned the older man over. “Come join us Alfred. You’ve missed most of the parade, but you can still see all of the dog show.”
“I’ll have to decline Master Timothy. Someone has to make the Thanksgiving dinner after all.”
“I’ll take Alfred’s cooking over takeout any day.” Jason spoke as he moved passed the man in question. His eyes narrowed at the seating arrangement. “Why is the only open seat next to the demon brat? I’d rather die again than sit next to him.”
Damian growled at the Red Hood. “That could be arranged.”
“Come on you two, it’s Thanksgiving! At least attempt to be brotherly for today, please?”
You gave the two the best puppy dog eyes you could muster. You knew your wide (E/C) eyes could make even the mighty Batman reconsider his actions. Jason’s exasperated groan and Damian’s incoherent muttering let you know that you had been successful. The dark-haired man plopped down next to his brother with an irritated look on his face. The tension only lasted for a few more minutes before the two become engrossed in the TV. The other two Wayne boys chuckled at them. Tim placed a tender kiss to your temple.
“You’re a miracle worker sweetheart.”
“Anything for family.”
BONUS!
Bruce was glad to finally be out of the office. He did his best not to work on holidays, but sometimes he couldn’t get around it. The Dark Knight counted his blessing for not working too late. It was still rather early and if he was lucky Bruce could relax for a while before dinner.
He had just stepped through the front doors when his ears picked up shouting from the TV room. Curious, Bruce walked closer to investigate.
“You’re even dumber than I thought if you believe that mutt will win.” Damian’s voice sneered at someone, more than likely Jason or Tim.
“That mutt,” Jason growled, “has won the past three dog shows.”
(Y/N) piped up, “I think the corgi should win.”
“That little thing? It looks like a bread loaf.”
“Your face looks like a bread loaf!” Jason snapped.
The sounds of a struggle soon followed. Bruce shook his head in amusement at their behavior. How they hadn’t already gotten into a fight yet today was beyond him. Knowing (Y/N), she probably guilt tripped his boys into acting somewhat civil. Again he shook his head and began to walk to the kitchen with a content smile on his face.

Ready As I’ll Ever Be -- Jason Todd x Reader, Platonic!Roy Harper x Reader
Let me clarify one thing, this story endgame is still Jason Todd x reader. Everything up until this point has been leading up to the actual plot. Surprisingly, this story actually has a plot. Given it’s a complicated one, but the plot is still there!
Just...keep that in mind when reading this.
Tagging: @lovingmytelevision, @posiey, @miraisnotavailable, @epickimmie, @soepicsokim, @themortallife, @pbandj14, @sarcasmismyfirstlove, @portrait-ninja, @insideoflit
WARNING! Major plot points finally being reached. Won’t make a ton of sense until the next few parts, but it’s there nonetheless.
Part One  Part Two  Part Three  Part Four  Part Five  Part Six  Part Seven  Part Eight
Word Count: 1016
The chance of you running into a person who looked nearly identical to Jason Todd was a one in a trillion chance. You know, you had Googled it as soon as you had gotten away from the guy you’d met nearly two weeks ago in the hallway on your way to your self-defense class.
His name was Tadd Massey, as he had introduced himself to you once he had helped you to your feet. His black hair didn’t have the telltale white streak that Jason’s had, and his blue eyes held a kinder light to them than the vigilante’s. The man also had a calm disposition and, as far as you were aware, no superhero affiliations.
The only things that this stranger shared with your soulmate was his general looks and persistent nature.
“Hello again,” Tadd smiled as he fell into step beside you. “It feels like I haven’t seen you around much lately.”
You chuckled nervously. “Really? I hadn’t noticed.”
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re a terrible liar?”
“On occasion, yes.”
The man let out a loud laugh at your comment. You couldn’t help but notice that his eyes lit up the same way Jason’s did when he laughed. Immediately, you pushed that thought as far to the back of your mind as possible. As much as Tadd resembled him, he was not Jason and it wasn’t fair to him to compare them.
“So,” Tadd started as the two of you finally reached your floor, “care to explain why you’ve been avoiding me?”
“Care to explain why you’ve noticed me avoiding you? I’m sure there are plenty of other women you could interact with. More friendly, interesting women.”
“None of them are quite what I’m looking for.”
You snorted at that comment. Reaching into your pocket, you pulled your keys from it and picked out the correct one. “And what exactly are you looking for in a woman?”
“You.”
That made you almost drop your keys.
It wasn’t that you weren’t flattered, far from it. You felt a deep blush fill your cheeks as you refocused on unlocking your door and ignoring the burning sensation on your face.
“That was rather bold of you.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the dark-haired man shrug. “I’m pretty straight-forward when I’m interested in a woman.”
“I’m not exactly what you’re looking for, no matter what you think.”
“Shouldn’t I be the judge of that?” Tadd leaned against the wall and looked into your eyes. “Why do you keep pushing me away?”
“I have my reasons.”
“Rumor has it that you just went through a pretty intense break up.”
You scowled. “You’ve been talking to Mrs. Jennings.”
“Guilty as charged.” Tadd held his hands up in surrender.  “You left me little choice since you insist on making sure we never talk to one another. What did I do to make you hate me so much?”
You debated walking into your loft and slamming the door in the man’s face. He had no right to go and invade your personal business. He had no right to single you out of all the other single women who lived in the apartment complex. He had no right to go behind your back and ask your landlady about you.
And yet, there was something about him that just drew you to him.
Tadd’s smile was seemingly always present on his face and he always had some sort of joke ready at the drop of a hat. From your own observations of him, he was polite and considerate of all those who lived here. You’d never seen him have any female visitors over. Not that you were keeping tabs on him. It was just obvious that your neighbor was a bit of an introvert when it came to interacting with others.
Well, except for you.
“Don’t worry, I don’t hate you.” You finally decided to say, turning to face the man. A sheepish smile graced your lips. “Mrs. Jennings wasn’t lying when she said that I’d gone through a nasty break up. I guess I’m still dealing with that.”
The blue-eyed man nodded in understanding. “I get that. I’ve been going through the same kind of stuff. I guess that’s why I’m so intent on getting to know you. Birds of a feather, right?”
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.” You chuckled.
“Tell you what, let me make up my stalker-esque behavior. How about coffee with me?”
You raised an eyebrow at his brazenness. “Like, right now?”
“No time like the present!”
A small, paranoid part of you questioned Tadd’s immediate interest in you. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but looks could be deceiving. Then again, after the events you’d been through recently it was no wonder you were questioning someone’s interest in you. Having the one person you were destined to be with leave you had left you emotionally raw. Who would blame you for turning down this man’s friendly offer?
“I could go for a coffee.” You smiled warmly. “It’d be nice not to spend the evening all by myself for once.”
“Fantastic! I know of this great local shop just around the corner.”
“Let me put my things in my apartment and we can go.”
Tadd nodded his head in acknowledgement. He waited as you hurried into your apartment. You had just placed your workbag down when your phone vibrated. A quick glance confirmed your suspicion as to who it was.
You make it home alright?
Your fingers flew across the screen quickly. Yeah. I’m headed to go get some coffee with a guy who lives in the complex.
Wait, really? Roy shot back. You sure you’re ready?
No time like the present, right? I can at least give dating a try.
Stay safe then. And let me know how everything goes and when you get home.
Yes mom. You typed back then shoved your phone into your pocket.
Tadd pushed himself from where he had been leaning against the wall. “You ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be. Lead the way.”

Royfriend -- Platonic!Jason Todd x Reader, Roy Harper x Reader
This was inspired by the promo for this week’s Grey’s Anatomy. After I saw it, me and my sister immediately knew one of us had to write a story based on it. Here is that brain child. Enjoy!
Also, shout out to @insideoflit for the name I used for the title!!
WARNING! Intercourse implied, but not explicitly stated. VERY much implied though.
Word Count: 282
It was a morning like any other. The sun was shining through the open blinds, spilling onto the carpeted floor and stopping short of the lounging figure on the couch. Said individual was a dark-haired man with a single white streak through his hair. His deep, blue eyes were fixated on the lines of words printed on the book he held in one hand. As he finished the line, he brought the cup of coffee his other hand held to his lips.
Jason glanced up as the door to one of the rooms in the apartment opened. An exhausted looking (Y/N) came out, a large yawn escaping from their mouth. They reached up and dragged a hand through their (H/C) hair as they trudged into the living room.
“Morning sunshine,” Jason chirped dryly. A dark brow perched in question. “You look tired.”
(Y/N) yawned once more. “Yeah, I was up all night.”
This statement perplexed the vigilante as his roommate was a pretty well-to-do person and rarely stayed up late. If they ever stayed up past midnight, it was usually for a pretty damn good reason.
“Doing what?” He inquired, genuinely curious.
As if on cue, a shirtless and familiar redhead came walking passed the two. Roy gave his friend a sleepy wave before heading into the kitchen to get some coffee.
A slow smirk crept its way onto (Y/N)’s face. “That.”
“Since when are you and Roy an item?”
“What can I say? I have a thing for gingers.”
“So, what?” Jason continued. “He’s your boyfriend now?”
“I prefer the term ‘Royfriend,’ thank you.”
Jason made a gagging noise. (Y/N) chuckled, winked, and then followed Roy into the kitchen.

Gonna be honest, didn't know you weren't supposed to use italics when writing. Imma still do it though.
writing advice: never italicize words to show emphasis! if you’re writing well then the reader will know and you don’t need them!
me: oh really??? listen up, pal, you can just try an pull italics from my cold, dead fingers

Heads up lovelies! I changed my username. What was once I-write-what-I-want is now flutterby-affect! I love butterflies and I suck at spelling and grammar. This new username kind of embodies both.
Hope this doesn’t confuse anyone too badly!!
