100% this! I use traditional pencil line art and shading for the base of all my artwork and I have to say DO NOT be afraid to digitally edit it! Up the contrast, the saturation, the luminosity, even the hues. Do NOT be afraid to play around with any slider your editing software gives you. Find what works best for you and your style.

Also! When you look at your own art, you're seeing a lot of things someone looking from the outside will miss.

This is traditionally drawn, but it's levels have been edited: It looks pretty crisp from here, but if you zoom in, some areas still have some noise. (I have one without the background edited in but it was TOO WHITE and hurt my eyes so I swapped which one I used for this example)

This isn't the BEST example because of the amount of small detail that adds noise, but it's the most recent example I have that I haven't gone back in and added texturing to(my personal preference for my own style includes an amount of texturing to it).

This is it pre-level adjustment (ignore its foot being cut off, and the pole being missing. I drew the pole separately because there wasn't going to be room on the paper to complete it, and the paper itself was too big for my scanner so I had to Frankenstein the feet back on digitally oops)

Just a sidenote on the adjusting hue like I mentioned earlier: you can really elevate a piece by finding the right color for it, even if it's monochromatic.

(unlike the rabbit, this piece has had ADDITIONAL noise added to it, after adjusting levels because as I said before, my personal preference for my own work skews more towards textured. I didn't change the colors on the rabbit until after pencil shading it, and that felt too far removed from this discussion because you could no longer see the line art itself)

In comparison to the first and it's crispness, this is an actual noise-less traditional drawing where I've gone in digitally erased and tidied up lines. This is completely unnecessary because I promise you, your art will look very crisp with just level adjustments, I only do this for specific sticker formats and some coloring sheets.

I notice that sometimes your art is from a traditional format - how do you get it so clean and crisp? The lineart is very noticable and the background of the paper looks like it isnt even there!

I cant get mine to look like that, maybe im not pressing hard enough on the paper...

dON'T press harder noooo anon, that can cause really bad hand problems! whenever I scan in pictures that I have drawn in pencil (something I haven't done in a long time, but used to a great deal) I correct the black/white contrast using the computer. most drawing programs have an option to do this, usually something called 'levels', which means you can make the white of the paper whiter and the lineart darker. I also did this for when I was storyboarding because I was much more comfortable drawing that way!
