A powerful, in all senses of the word, documentary film that had me tearing up and then seething with anger. These poor parents, to have lost their children in such a violent and horrible way, but to then be victimized for a decade by idiots is just truly soul draining.

The film does a beautiful job at making all these events, some so far removed from logic or memory, so personal and real while also telling an important story and filling in the blanks that headlines over the years didn’t.

I wonder now why so much of the focus was on these parents and the supposed “hoax” and NOT on the deranged individual and weapons he used to murder so many innocent lives? Interesting to me that none of those details seemed to be obsessed about and lied about. Did they deny the shooter he murdered and than killed himself?

I also wonder why something so complicated and far fetched is easier to believe than the truth. I guess it explains a lot of what is happening now, in politics and across the board in our society…but I often think of how religion has a hand in all of this. No need for personal responsibility if some thing else is pulling the strings.

Just because you feel it, doesn’t make it true. We have to, as a society, encourage and bring back critical thinking, common sense, logic, and nuance. This obsession with likes/clicks is lowering the common denominator to such a despicable level. We don’t value someone boasting or bragging, what has changed when it comes to the online world?

It’s gross, and we should all be ashamed of our complicit participation.

If you ask me, the judge who allowed this child to go back to his clearly abusive mother after multiple allegations should be charged with manslaughter !! EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH A CHILD SUFFERING TO THIS EXTENT IS RESPONSIBLE AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!

Beautiful show!!! Powerful, heartfelt, relatable, emotional… I had tears in my eyes numerous times but loved the message and totally agree… Life is for the living!! 🌲

Finished this book a few days ago and I can easily say, it was one of the most personally impactful books on me, and I’m well read on the subject!  I highly recommend it for survivors on their journey, loved ones of survivors, and professionals in the various fields.

Child abuse is an epidemic.  

We must stop pretending it will just go away and instead create/utilize specific tools to prevent it and at the same time, make sure survivors have access to a plethora of options for their journey of acceptance.

ONLY THEN can we begin to truly combat things like addiction, rape, suicide, poverty, and a whole slew of other issues directly related.

Busy day volunteering at @central.vannuys today!!

Photo 1️⃣ is showing the AWESOME bag I won from @independentlens (THANK YOU!)!! No lie, I was SUPER EXCITED TO WIN THIS!! It’s literally the perfect bag to bring on Mondays when I #volunteer !! Plus, I love watching this show on @pbs (It even has a zipper!!)

📷2️⃣3️⃣ Before distribution, We replenished our sundry bags for our unhoused neighbors!! Tooth brush, TP, Deodorant, and a bunch of other useful items!

📷4️⃣ @lafoodbank brings the food and we bring the volunteers, including today, friends from Valley Presbyterian Hospital!! They even donated bags to our neighbors 📷5️⃣!!

📷6️⃣ The food we provided to almost 700 households today!!!

AND if all that wasn’t enough, we started a contest today for a free #AmazonFireStick !! Just got to follow #JoinCentral on social media (IG and Facebook) and you’ll be entered in raffle!!
