Here is my holiday drawing for the season 🎄 When I saw that @pernilleoerum was holding another #drawthisinyourstyle challenge I knew I couldn’t resist. Her work is just so inspiring. I hope you like my entry! ❤️ - - The leaf crown in Pernille’s painting reminded me of the ones worn for St. Lucia day celebrated in Sweden, Norway, and parts of Finland. On December 13th the eldest daughter of the family dresses in a white gown, usually with a red sash, and a crown of lingon berries and candles to serve her family coffee and baked goods like saffron bread and ginger biscuits. - I first learned about this tradition when I was younger and read the American Girl book “Kirsten’s Surprise”. - - Painting inspiration by Pernille Orum. i love that every pokémon is someone’s favourite pokémon. it doesn’t matter how much you dislike a pokémon or how forgettable you you think a design is, out there is someone who thinks it’s their baby. my coworker who only discovered pokémon through pokémon go absolutely loves tangela and has a small army of fully powered up ones. at an expo once i saw a woman at a booth desperately trying to find an onix plushie because it was her daughter’s absolute favourite. i talked with someone recently who announced sudowoodo as their tippy top favourite. every single one is loved by someone and idk, i think that’s gotdang heartwarming
