While transphobes are vile and must be opposed, a lot of misogynists in progressive spaces realized they can get away with anti-feminism by falsely claiming all feminism is trans-exclusionary. It is not, and people in these progressive spaces apparently need to be reminded that nothing exempts them from having their views on women and feminism affected by the patriarchy. If you immediately view women talking about men oppressing them with suspicion and scorn (especially when there’s no mention of trans people in the woman’s post), you’re just sexist

A good thing to think.

Because all the defenses of the Stark (the Wall, Winterfell...) are about to STAY in the land. They can't move or run away, just stand (like the Mormont's motto says: "here we stand").

And maybe that was the curse of the Children when they look for help from them after almost exterminate their people: they will be LIKE TREES.

Much more: in some cases THEY WILL BE THE TREES. Weirwoods have human faces and, back in the old times, Bran saw how people needed to be sacrified under the trees (the Old Gods). They will become the eyes, the first defense. But to defeat the Others they will need, ironically, the help from "other" people.

Are the Starks cursed for the sins of their ancestors?

The whole "Starks must stay in Winterfell, bad things happen to them when they leave South" is always posed in fandom as this shining badge of honor, as if it's because the North is this unmatched pinacle of the world to exist in (it's not).

We know the First Men desecrated indigenous lands, were almost anihilated by White Walkers for it, had to build a magical Wall and are tasked (burdened) with guarding it.

Meanwhile, they can't leave (though plenty of them are excited to see the world) without tragedy and death. Bran is targeted with a big destiny, has different dreams about his life, and gets his legs cut from under him to stay put, for example. It doesn't sound to me like a benevolent distinction from the gods.

you know, before i started watching star trek, i thought ppl were just saying it was gay bc they liked the idea of kirk and spock being a couple, but as i've been watching it, i have realized no, they really meant it. "why mr. spock... you almost make me believe in miracles." the city on the edge of tomorrow. "i know your affection for spock." spock being fucking ecstatic that jim is still alive in amok time and even smiling. kirk looking at spock like he holds the whole universe in his eyes when he's talking about the most boring shit. like it's not just kinda gay, it's like spock and kirk were written as an actual loving couple but, y'know, it was the 60s and they couldn't really do that on tv

You know, my personal headcanon about the first encounter between Jon and Daenerys is not physical but magical:

Jon would resurrect after meeting Daenerys in a liminal world. Daenerys, for her part, would be passing a ritual test with the Dosh Khaleen, again in Vaes Dothrak where she would become a mystical crone.

Their encounter would show them their past and common future, bringing the Dawn to the world.

I just found out about the existence of orchid bees! What can you tell me about them?

sure! orchid bees are weird tiny shiny solitary bees that spend their time pretty much like all solitary bees do, hunting for nectar and trying not to get eaten by birds.

but when a female orchid bee is selecting from her bouquet of suiters, she really only has one thing in mind- his smell!

the smelliest males are the most attractive to her, for god only knows what secret bee reason, so accordingly the male bees spend pretty much all their time finding things with strong smells and then. rolling in them.

this does include pleasant things like flowers, yes, but also some weirder stuff like fungi and tree sap. if they made an Eu De Bee it would probably smell pretty pungent to us!

not that they shouldn't do that. I am in favor of Eu De Bee

so a male bee healthy enough to range far and wide dunking his stubby little shiny butt in whatever smells interesting is what carries the day, for the females! she will mate with him and lay some eggs about it.

also they sleep suspended with their jaws clamped onto random shit, like this

Thinking about how jayne poole and theon greyjoy were antagonistic to arya and jon and kind of envious of their stark blood, but then they are forced to be in arya and jons position and realized life is not a song for arya and jon at all.
