Poly culture is staying in a monogamous relationship until you realized it wasn't working for you, going through horrible heartbreak, and having to rebuilt your entire understanding of what relationships even are. Poly culture is, over time, building that understanding to include freedom, choice, and joy in a way you didn't even think was possible. Poly culture is falling in love for the first time in a way that feels like it respects and encompasses your entire being, and feeling like you've discovered life itself all over again. Poly culture is realizing your internalized fear of "failing at a relationship" by strict, monogamous norms, is the thing that's keeping you from pursuing that new commitment, that new love, that chance, and realizing that you gotta let go of it. Poly culture is realizing you deserve the opportunity to try again, with all the mistakes and imperfections it will entail. Poly culture is allowing yourself to love and be loved without fear. Or, y'know, so I'm told. Not that anything like that has ever happened to me.

Fact #1008: Sometimes your gender dysphoria, before you know it’s dysphoria, makes you try to compensate for those bad feelings by trying to be a “better” girl /boy. Trans guys being hyper feminine or trans girls being hyper masculine before coming out is not that uncommon. And it certainly doesn't invalidate your identity.
