It arrived! I am beyond ecstatic to dive into this book. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive so I downloaded the kindle preview and absorbed the first chapter in a blink of an eye. As a so called “Dreamer” from a mix status family whose mom is currently battling with cancer, I can relate on so many levels 😭. Sanchez encapsulates what it’s like to be a young brown girl growing up in the US who is Bicultural, bilingual, documented and undocumented and full of Dreams in a pragmatic, comical and well delivered narrative.

So blessed to have my forever buddy... not precisely in these words but we figured it out.
Relationships are scary and complicated ONLY when you start thinking of your partner as some kind of adversary.
You know how to stop being scared of relationships? Remember that it’s got a goddamn buddy system *built in*. That’s all a relationship IS: “Let’s approach life with the buddy system.”
Check on your buddy. Make sure your buddy doesn’t forget their lunch box on the schoolbus. Hold hands with your buddy so you don’t get lost. If your buddy wants to look at the monkey cage, look at the goddamn monkey cage with them. If you are the one looking at the monkey cage, ask your buddy what they want to do next, and when they want to feed the giraffe, help them find a quarter for the little food dispenser. Be a good buddy, and if your buddy isn’t a good one too, tell the teacher and ask for a new one.
This isn’t fucking rocket science, people.

Fall in Love –Keizer, Or
I’ve been 🚷MIA 🙅🏽for a little over a month. Life has been a bit tough 😰 (to say the least) and I had to take some personal time away from 📵social media and extracurricular activities to dedicate it to my self and my husband💑. But I’m back… and I want to keep having a platform where I can share what I love which are 📚books and glimpses of beautiful 🏞Oregon which I proudly call 🏡home…
This 🌻 is from my very own Front yard and I have quite the story to tell.
At the beginning of the summer🌞 I planted sunflowers in the front of my home. My husband had cut down an old 🍁 maple tree the year before and we were left with an old trunk😒 in the front yard. I thought it’s be a great idea 💡 to surround it with sunflowers and decrease the eye 😵 sore it created. It was my first time attempting to grow sunflowers 🤗 and I was anxiously awaiting their blossoms. However, one day, I came home and the four inch sprouts🌱 were gone!! Completely ripped out of the ground😱 and nowhere in sight👀!!!! It was a horrible scene, I was devastated 😭and I instinctively looked at my husband 😡and accused him of murder!
He swore innocence 😟and for weeks we were emerged in a criminal minds 🔎episode trying to figure out the murder of about 8 innocent blossoming flower children👶🏽👶🏻👶🏿…. Who could of done such a horrible thing🤔? One day my husband casually brought it up in conversation 🗣with his brother in-law and lo and behold… he confessed😳!
I cut him some slack as he thought they were weeds… but still, I was upset😐. Well a few days passed and I noticed a little sprout🌱. I carefully inspected it and realized it was a little survivor🙌🏽! 😭🌈
But the best part was, it wasn’t just one, there were twins👯‍♂️!!! The one little sprout split into two as it started making its way up to the heavens🌠🌌🌅. When August rolled around, my little sprout had given birth to two beautiful deep red sunflowers. God didn’t just give me one, he gave me two ✌🏽beautiful vibrant blossoms and a well needed reminder that there is hope✨ even when life seems to destroy🌪and unroot🥀 everything. And that we are recompensed with more than we expect.
I had completely given up and to my surprise I was gifted🎁 with my two 🎊little survivors. As meaningless as it may sound it gave me hope and it showed me how Mother Nature teaches wonderful lessons; all we have to do is pay attention.

Too many people forget their books once they’ve read them once. I’ve always wondered if the books, the characters, wind up missing you.

Let them see that their words can cut you, and you’ll never be free of the mockery. If they want to give you a name, take it, make it your own. Then they can’t hurt you with it anymore.
