some rough robot ideas for Peppermint Gun using procreate’s symmetry tool....
they were meant to be just test thumbnails and some of them i actually want to develop (!) but i want them to feel more, like british? at least the kind of robots you’d find in south london in some far off future.
so i need to think about it more than just having fun mindlessly doodling in symmetry

when i think how much better they look now from 5/6 years ago... it’s crazy to actually take a step back from a project for cough years and develop as an artist before returning. i’ve been so sad about not being able to work on this world, but i know i could not have done it justice 5 years ago. i really wanted to finish this graphic novel in my mid 20s but (i hope) it will benefit from maturing as a writer/artist/person. it will take time. shit takes time. i hate to waste it but i hate to rush.
wow you can tell i really couldn’t draw clear body types 5 years ago, they look so much better these days even tho the stances are still a lil stiff. rough, but getting there
doing the black linework over the top of this sketch layer now and am sort of able to recreate the biro pen look that i originally designed them in
I don’t want to lose the biro pen look of the art style for the full comic... i’m gonna keep playing with it to see if i can recreate the same style digitally bc it would really speed up the workflow
shit has been in beta for 5 years
i have a better understanding of colour and form now that when i started so like........................... it’s time to start getting these characters onto the page. . .
rough colour study in procreate /
took such a long break from the world of Peppermint Gun but it’s always on my mind... i have some other projects to finish before i come back to this but. it’s coming.
