My latest wallpaper of Mortal Kombat and DC Comics in 80s/90s live-action form.

While Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is probably my least favorite game in the mainline series of MK fighting games, I am still a fan of both properties, so much that I was inspired to do this picture.

The cast:

- Christopher Reeve as Superman

- Robin Shou as Liu Kang

- Jennifer Connelly as Wonder Woman

- Cameron Diaz as Sonya Blade

- Michael Keaton as Batman

- Chris Casamassa as Scorpion

I went mainly with the actors from the old MK, Batman and Superman movies because they're very iconic and what a lot of us grew up with (especially me).

Once again, I went with Cameron as Sonya because of her being the original choice for the role in the 1995 MK movie before getting injured and replaced by Bridgette Wilson-Sampras (who was still solid in the role).

I went with Jennifer as Wonder Woman since she is often a fan-favorite choice for the character if they ever made a WW movie back in the day before we eventually got the 2017 movie and its craptastic sequel, both of which starred Gal Gadot in the role. Plus, I already envision Jennifer as an influence for Kitana in my take on MK, so it made sense to have her be WW as well since both characters are kind of similar.

There were discussions about a Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe animated movie, but Warner Bros. turned the idea down, which had me feeling rather bittersweet...I would have loved for them to do a MK vs. DC animated film as well as a Spawn/Batman movie, but after how badly they handled the Injustice and Mortal Kombat Legends flicks? Maybe it's a good thing it won't happen...

A little drawing of the Kuai Liang Scorpion vs. the Bi Han Sub-Zero, or at least my version of their rivalry within my works based on Mortal Kombat.

Scorpion's look is based on a mix of his appearances in MK1, Legacy, and 1995 with some touches of my own. Sub-Zero's look is mostly based on a mix between 2021, MK9 and MKX.

Because of my current mood, Kuai is likely going to be Scorpion in my works for a while. Again, I still love Kuai as Sub-Zero, but I am in the minority who doesn't mind him as Scorpion, and I do feel it has potential to work outside of what was in MK1, which has its ups and downs.

I will definitely keep drawing and writing different takes on the lore and characters, whether it'd be Kuai as both Scorpion and Sub-Zero, or Liu Kang being with both Kitana and Sonya Blade. I honestly don't mind mixing things up as a way to get my creativity flowing.

As most of you know, I ship Liu Kang x Sonya Blade, when it comes to Mortal Kombat.

In my roleplay with my girlfriend, we actually gave them a daughter named Rosanna Liu (or Rosanna Kang, if you want to go with Kang being the surname).

While I did a drawing of Rosanna as a child with her parents, I have yet to draw her as a full-grown adult...but when I do, there are three actresses I have in mind for visual influences.

The three actresses I have in mind for Rosanna are...Sydney Sweeney, Caylee Cowan, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Another Mortal Kombat drawing of mine that shows off an alternate timeline within my works based on the franchise.

Once again, we have my OTP of Liu Kang x Sonya Blade. This time, they are pondering over their greatest archenemies - Shang Tsung and Kano (respectively).

Both Liu Kang and Sonya have quite the violent histories with their sworn enemies. Shang Tsung killed Liu Kang's brother Chan in the 1995 MK movie (and even their parents in my AU) while Kano killed Sonya's partner, who was also her fiancée in certain incarnations.

Liu Kang and Sonya already wanted to take down Shang Tsung and Kano for Earthrealm's safety anyways, but this further motivates them into wanting to complete that goal, even if it means killing their enemies.

This is another reason why I ship Liu Kang and Sonya together in my works based on MK as well as my multiverse/roleplay with my gf. They would want nothing more than to live a normal life, especially with each other, but they also have no qualms with giving up that desire just so that their realm can be in peace.

My latest Mortal Kombat drawing showing off an alternate timeline within my multiverse based on the franchise.

Here, we have Kuai Liang/Scorpion and Kitana, who are lovebirds in some of my works, pondering over their siblings and archenemies - Bi Han/Sub-Zero and Mileena (respectively).

While fans have their opinions over the changes made within New MK1's story and universe, I personally don't mind Kuai Liang being Scorpion, or even Mileena legit being Kitana's sister, though I do have a problem with Tarkatans being reduced to a disease, but that's besides the point. There is actually a lot you can do with those ideas, but I do feel that the game's story barely touched on them since it was so absorbed into doing more multiverse shenanigans like MK11 rather than making the story work on its own.

I still love Kuai as Sub-Zero, and he will stay that way in certain timelines as well as my roleplay with my gf, but I don't mind incorporating him as Scorpion in my works. However, rather than hooking Kuai up with Harumi, like New MK1 did, I would indeed pair him with Kitana while Hanzo Hasashi gets to live a peaceful life with Harumi and their son Satoshi. Of course, Liu Kang gets to be with Sonya Blade, but you know that already.

As for Mileena, she won't be infected with Tarkat. However, I did think of legit making her Kitana's biological sister who is either cursed or mutated into being half-Tarkatan. This would also create a sympathetic quality for Mileena, who would struggle with being a half-breed while also feeling jealousy towards Kitana.

A little experiment I did with two previous redesigns that I gave my Mortal Kombat OTP - Liu Kang x Sonya Blade.

Basically, I changed Liu Kang's color from Red to Blue, and I dyed Sonya's hair from Blonde to Red.

This was mostly done for fun, and to see how this would look, but it's also based on a recent post from a friend of mine on DeviantArt where he came up with ideas for a Mortal Kombat What-If series that explores alternate scenarios within the MK multiverse, similar to what Marvel and DC has done with their What-If and Elseworlds stories (respectively).

I actually can see Liu Kang rocking Blue as well as Sonya having Red hair in either an alternate timeline, or within my roleplay with my gf...probably both.
