Am I the only one whose favorite/bias in a group or show changes to the point where I have already favorited all of them? Like example in Blackpink, my first favorite was Lisa, then became Jennie, and now I’m torn between Rosé and Jisoo. And also in Running man, I remember in the first episodes my favorite was Kwangso, then became Jihyo and it all turned, and yes by now all members (even former ones) have become my favorite.

I think it just shows how I love the groups and shows, that as I watch them, I see their other side which makes me connect to them even more.

This post may be a bit late, but I think I can finally say that I am at that point in my life where I can talk about my dark times and how the Korean variety show Running Man helped me.

Years ago I hit my lowest point, I was burned out, stressed, sad and lost. I remember seeing a random clip of running man in my recommended videos, it was the episode where Jung Yong Hwa was a guest and they went to Hong Kong. I guess it was recommended to me because at that time I grew fond of Yong Hwa because of his show Heartstrings at the time. I clicked on the video and found the show funny, until I watched every recommended video of Running Man.

Eventually, I decided to actually watch the whole show, from the very first episode. It was already a lot at that time so I needed catching up, but I didn’t mind doing so because the show makes me happy. Watching it made me laugh, and for a while I forget about my problems.

I love watching it not just because it is funny, but because I love the dynamics of the members and even the whole staff. They lifted my spirits up, slowly I was able to get back up and I realized there is always something to smile about.

To me, and I know to a lot of fans out there, Running Man is more than just a show, it’s more than just an entertainment. The members are not just celebrities, to each other they became family, and watching them made me feel I was part of that family.

To some, the show may seem foolish but what I see is this beautiful family doing their best to bring smiles to their supporters even if they make a fool out of themselves.

Just like what I went through, the show also had its ups and downs, and even came to a point of almost ending, but I’m grateful that they fought for the show, they fought for it for their fans. They could’ve ended it as originally planned to end the controversies, have other shows and get on with their lives, but they love us so much that they fought for it to go on. This is why I too will keep on supporting them.

Looking back and seeing how the show has come, I feel proud and I even tear up a bit. No matter how many times I rewatch the Boom and Just Blow number I always end up crying, just like a lot of episodes and clips of the show that still makes me emotional.

The members, the staff, the whole show though they do not know helped me get better. It was like a friend who stood by my side at my lowest and cheered me on. So I too will do the same for the show, I will continue supporting them for as long as I could.

To the members and the staff of Running Man, even the former ones, and everyone that makes the show, from the bottom of my heart, Kamsahamnida. And just like what you taught me, I’ll keep going. I’ll keep running.

I don’t know if this has already been pointed out, but I had sudden realizations while rewatching Furuba. I realized the meaning of why those cursed with the Chinese Zodiacs turn into their animal forms whenever they are weak, stressed or embraced by opposite sex.

Their animal forms symbolizes their secrets/other side/ dark side or in short their vulnerable side which they hide from everyone else, and just like everyone this side shows whenever we are stressed or at our weakest.

Some may wrongfully judge us after they see our animal form, condemning us even if they don’t know who we truly are, and would even stay away. But those who love us, would chase after us and stay with us no matter how hard we try to push them away just because we think we don’t deserve their love.

The embrace symbolizes acceptance and love, that even at our weakest point, even if we show our secret/ugly/dark or most vulnerable side, someone who truly loves us will still continue holding us in their arms. It takes the right person to see your worth they say, what’s despicable to some is actually worthy of love for others. And in that love and acceptance, we also learn to accept and love our own animal form, eventually loving ourselves as a whole. Loving our true whole self, not just the good, but also the side that we once thought was bad, and so we accept the love they give.

We then realize that we also deserve to be loved, not just by others, but most importantly by ourselves. Once that happens, we finally break free from the curse.

As much as possible I don’t like to dwell on the should’ves, could’ves, would’ves, the what ifs and the if onlys. I don’t like to think of questions I don’t have an answer to.

Yes I do have some regrets, but what happened already happened, there’s no way I could change it.

Yes I do have dreams and hopes for the future, and there’s no certainty of what’s to happen. Nobody can tell for sure. Just as there is a possibility of it happening, is also the possibility of it not happening. I’m an ‘I’ll cross the bridge when I get there’ kind of person. But I am hopeful of what’s to come.

I don’t want to close any doors, today I might say no to things I unknowingly will say yes to in the future because everything changes.

The only thing I can surely speak for, and the only thing I certainly have a hold on to is the now, the present, today, right in this moment.

So I want to live today the way I wanted to, that no matter the outcome of my actions and decisions will be, I will look back to this day and know that I don’t have any regrets because I lived the way I wanted to.

I want to live today building on the foundation of the future that I want, so that the uncertain blurry picture will somehow start to be clear, so that the future that I once dreamed of will become a reality.

Live for the now so you wouldn’t have any should’ves, could’ves, would’ves and if onlys.

Live for the now and start giving an answer to those what ifs.
