Ragnarok got siblings close in age 100% right, and Black Panther got siblings with a decent age difference 100% right. Both of these thrill me, because there just aren’t enough good and accurate sibling relationships in media.

Summary: This time there’s hope in the demigod’s eyes as he looked over to her, finding true peace and love. The the souls finally confess to having feelings which ends up with them in each others’ rooms late at night until Loki suggests something only a trickster would have the mind to..
Loki X Reader
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
The slow beat of the music filled the cold air outside the building while the city moved on. The sky was a dark shade of blue, not quite evening time yet. The god sat on the marble stairs of the balcony, looking over the city while the celebrations inside only got louder.
Y/N and Loki’s mission had been successful, more than anyone had expected it to be and so like the usual, Tony had decided to throw a Midgardian party to celebrate the victory. There was all kinds of women and alcohol inside the building but unlike anyone had expected, Loki was outside.
Y/N’s little confession about liking Loki had been all that he was thinking about. It wasn’t necessarily a confession but she had said that she liked Loki, that was enough evidence for the god. Afterwards, she had gone to the mission, seducing a millionaire who didn’t even know how precious she was. They hadn’t talked about what happened with the guy but Loki had heard about their kiss when she was giving a report to Fury.
It didn’t meant anything, it was a mission and Loki was more than sure Y/N did this quite a lot, which hurt him even more. He was aware of all the feelings he had for her, maybe even more aware than he should’ve been and it almost drove him over the edge, especially at times like these. They hadn’t been talking much after returning to the compound, she had been busy with other matters of her own and they only met when they had to talk about the mission to someone.
They also didn’t tell anyone about the kiss.
Sometimes, when Y/N was sure every soul was sleeping, she brought her fingers to her lips, wanting to relive the moment of ecstasy Loki had given her. The two had feelings for each other but there was something, cold air between them ever since they returned that prevented them from a confession or at least a talk about it.
Loki’s eyes fixated on one tall building right before he heard the door of the balcony close and slow footsteps approached him. He knew who it was from the pace and the softness of the steps. Y/N sat next to his tall figure, they didn’t look at each other.
Loki had sympathy for her, unlike many suspected. He was aware of how everyone thought of him, heartless and cruel but it was only Y/N that mattered and this was the reason for the delayed talks. What if she thought he was a monster? One of many who destroyed the city of many living creatures a few years back. There was the fear of being not completely accepted as he had never been accepted fully for himself in his entire life, it would be absurd for it to happen now.
But Y/N didn’t mind.
All the talks about Loki being a destructive soul and violent and full of rage always made her uncomfortable. She would get out of the room when the talks came in and wouldn’t talk. It wasn’t because she didn’t want to express her thoughts but she knew how important they were to some people around, and plus, she wanted Loki to all herself.
“It’s a little crowded inside.” Y/N spoke, the air was slowly getting cold as the time approached midnight.
“I agree.” Loki said, finally giving her a glance of his pretty smile before sipping the Asgardian alcohol.
“You don’t seem to be enjoying all this....” she said, signalling the inside with her hands while their eyes met.
“I do not find amusement in Midgardian celebrations.” he said, looking over to Y/N one last time, admiration was written on his face.
She was beautiful today, like she was everyday. Loki’s interest in her was slowly becoming undeniably suffocating, to a point where he thought of leaving the realm. The woman before him was a magnificent one but he was a monster of another world, he didn’t want to damage her life with his hidden face.
“I see.” she said, silent.
Loki was going to released soon, it was announced today. He was going to be put in a cell in Asgard where his father could also rant about all the wrong that he had done. There were a few days they could spend now, limited time made it even more unbearable for the both and they wanted to say something but nothing came out of their mouths.
“So you’re leaving?” Y/N spoke, looking at his eyes with expectations and sorrow.
“Yes, I will not be bringing any more doom to this realm I’m afraid.” he said, smiling sadly at her.
“I wouldn’t mind that.” she whispered under her breath, she knew Loki would hear it.
The truth was, Y/N had seen too much of the universe to be in love with it. She had found sorrow and pain in every corner, alone. There was no source of real joy in her life before the god came along. He was grumpy, sarcastic and all he did was to use masks and mockery to conceal who he truly was but Y/N liked her even more each day. He was not a monster in her eyes, only a misunderstood king.
Loki’s eyes found hers right after she finished her sentence. There was surprise in them, expectant of happiness and hope. This was something Y/N didn’t get to see much of, Loki was far from a man who would hope for things.
But he hoped for her.
Everyday of the given life he was gifted with. Sure, life had been hard and he had been through a little too much but this person next to him meant happiness to him, she meant peace and a future where there was less of everything he wanted to escape from.
“What did you say, darling?” Loki asked, pulling her closer by her chin while his milky skin came in contact with hers, his fingers traveling around her chin and jaw while the sky only kept getting darker.
“I thought you heard me.” she spoke, their eyes were staring deep into each others’, their breaths mixing in with the cold summer air.
“That I did.” he said, smirking but his heart was beating faster than he could comprehend.
“I asked what you meant.” he said, his fingers traced the line of her jawline.
“That you know.” she whispered against his face, her lips ghosting his for a magical moment before she stood up, walked out of the balcony with a confused god behind her.

Loki had heard about how time solves things around here, whether it was an argument or a dead person. Midgardians believed in time, how it solved things between people and resolves situations and so he left it be. He was bound to leave in a week, the day had been postponed, Heimdall told Thor to come a week later since there was another royal coming and there were preparations.
There were things on his mind, things he kept for himself like Y/N’s words and how rare he got to see her these days. There was apparently another mission she had to go with Nat, one about saving a bunch of kids. He wanted to talk, so did she but timing was essential.
Loki knew how fragile this all was, all the reason for the delay of the talk. This was the first time in his eternal life where he felt genuine, a different kind of joy that brought a glow to his face and he knew how easy it was to lose it, universe usually played against him. Y/N, on the other hand, was hesitant. She had given him enough hints and was aware of his intelligence, he was still waiting but she didn’t know why.
They lacked communication at times like these. When they talked, one word meant a dozen but they didn’t do that often. If they had talked with their eyes, it would make things so much easier for both. All this seemed hard to do with the two souls, they were both too occupied but an opportunity, someone like Loki would never find Y/N again, not in another realm or another timeline.
He was sitting on the couch in the middle of the library, leather making him almost uncomfortable but he was occupied with the book on his hands. He had seen Y/N read it, it was about tales told about artists, performers of fine art in Midgard a few decades ago. It reminded Loki of the things she wore, the dresses and the jackets.
A small smile made its way to his lips before he heard the door open. His vision met the one he so badly missed but he didn’t make it obvious. The book was still open in his hands, all that changed was that his smile got bigger. Y/N looked at him, tired but happy with a few scratches on her face.
“Hi.” she said, walking in the place and eyeing the sofa in front of Loki to sit on.
“Hello there.” Loki spoke, sitting even more straight as Y/N slowly took steps inside.
“I heard you’d be in here.” she said, smiling while her eyes scanned the library to see if anyone else is here.
“You found me, darling.” his voice got deeper with the last word, his eyes were searching something.
She slowly sat on the sofa in front of him, eyes never leaving his. There was no tension but quiet between then right before Loki’s eyes traveled on her face, tracing the fresh scratches with his eyes as a sharp breath left his mouth. How could they hurt her?
“It seems you had a tough day.” Loki spoke, not fully saying what he thought. Y/N gave him a sad smile, she didn’t want him to leave.
It had been a tough day for her, waking up inside a block of bricks and trying to get the kids out of the place were a few things she had done. There was so much dust in her lungs, her legs were tired and her joints everywhere hurt, she had used too much magic again but she didn’t mind, all she wanted was to have his company as much as she could.
“It was okay.” she breathed out, her voice was low as to make sure the moment stopped, she wanted to stay like this forever, with him in front if her with a smile as the bright light accentuated his features. “I heal fast.”she said, chuckling a little which made him smile.
“The book is interesting.” Loki said, his eyes never left her figure. He didn’t want to leave.
“Yeah?” she asked, her voice was getting even more quiet. “I’m glad you enjoy it.” she breathed out one last time, now she was tearing up slowly.
There was so much of him, so much she wanted more of. The first time Loki had walked in here, she had thought of him as the guilty prince of Asgard, someone who was mocking a little too annoying but now, all she saw was a wounded beautiful king who was too gentle to be let out there. He was misunderstood and so much gentler than she had thought and she didn’t want to let go, she didn’t know how.
During the many people she had known until today, she was sure of one thing the minute she met them: there would be farewell. All of them had said goodbye, sometimes when they were about to inhale their last breath and sometimes when they didn’t want to be around anymore or they couldn’t. She had made peace with creatures living, her mother had taught her that the only person who’s going to be there for her was herself.
Years and years, she had lived on with a rule of not letting people in or not creating bonds strong enough that they would make things hard. She was kind, generous and nice overall but she didn’t have anyone that she knew for more than a decade, the other have all left and she was alright with that. Until Loki came in.
“What’s wrong, darling?” Loki spoke. He was simply worried now, small tears were visible in the corners of her eyes.
“I...” she gulped, she had to stop herself and take a few breaths in to make sure she didn’t cry in front of the god. Usually, she would show very little emotion but she didn’t care this time, not when there was a possibility of not seeing him again for a decade when even a week was hard.
“Do you have to leave?” she said, vulnerable at a rate Loki didn’t know how to handle.
He was simply surprised. He didn’t know she cared this much, he didn’t know she wanted him to stay this much to a point where she was in the verge of crying her eyes out. This was the first time Loki was living through sometimes like this, somebody crying because they didn’t ant him to leave, it was usually the other way around where they would cry and beg for him to leave.
“Darling, I..” he didn’t say much and instead cupped her cheeks, he was kneeling in front of her while she was so many layers of emotions in his eyes, feeling the hot breath against her skin as tears made their way again.
“I don’t know what to say...” he said, giving her a sad smile but not letting her go, out of his grasp, mind and eyes. “...or do.” he softly whispered against her, this little woman somehow was important to her now, there was a bond in between he found it hard to let go, he simply didn’t want to.
“Don’t go..” she said, looking directly into his marble eyes.
He thought for a moment, of a future where there was happiness for him and as hard as that was to believe, if there was a possibility, he knew it was with the woman before him.
“And I don’t mean out of Midgard...I mean out of my life.” she said, sure of herself this time as her speaking voice got more confident with each word.
Loki didn’t feel anything other than a warm heart, even though he was a frost giant. This person in front of him could make things better, better than they already were and Loki knew that this was once in a lifetime and if he didn’t take the opportunity, he would be married to a royal in Asgard and rot in that library which he didn’t mind.
Loki’s lips met her, expectedly this time. One of his hands were on her cheeks, slowly caressing it while the other grabbed her by the waist and pulled her figure on top of his. Her hands found his hair as he deepened the soft velvet kiss, meeting Loki’s lips once again while their souls intertwined, her figure remained on top of his the whole time.
She broke the kiss, breathing for air but his eyes and hands never left hers. There was something she had never seen in his eyes, something that opened door for the beautiful man she knew him to be. She chuckled against his lips as his tongue licked her upper lip, she was more than content as they slowly caught their breaths.
“Darling..” he said against her. “I’ll never let go of you..”
⚜ ⚜ ⚜
The sun rose unexpectedly fast today, she thought to herself while picking up her cardigan on her way to leave his room. They had been spending the nights together, doing all sorts of things from talking, playing games and reading to exploring each others’ bodies. The team hadn’t caught them yet but they already knew from their smiley faces while they walked closer with each other.
It was the day Loki left for Asgard, Y/N had given him a tool of some sort and they had bonded their magic so whenever he wanted to talk to her, he could. Only lovers bonded their magic and they knew it was maybe a little too early to call themselves that but there was no other faster way and so in the world of magicians, they were eternal lovers.
Loki was wearing his usual armor, the one he came in while Y/N was out of the balcony, next to him as they spoke about something Loki read to her last night. He was all smitten with her, they could all see. She was there to say goodbye, although she had said that last night a thousand times in bed.
“Disturb me anytime you want, dear..” Loki spoke as he kissed her palm right before they were about to go, with the help of Heimdall to Asgard.
As Loki stood in the circle with Thor, his eyes sparkled. He was the God of tricks, there were wonders going on his mind that only a few could understand. For the first time in his life, there was hope for him, it was dim but she was bright, as bright as he needed her to be. She looked at him, thinking it was going to be the last time for a while, even though she knew his shadow would be watching.
He extended his arm, offering his hand to her. Her eyes sparkled for a second, thinking of all the possibilities and a smile took over her features. It was a risk, a huge one. There was no time and no other chances for her, it was only Loki now.
She took the hand, Loki held her body against his with a smile brighter than before. Thor was confused, so was the whole team as they hugged, there was joy and happiness in both their faces.
“Brother, We’re to leave.” said Thor, saying him to leave Y/N since she wasn’t supposed to come, she had responsibilities of her own, a place and people to protect.
Loki looked down at her face, she was glowing. This woman was all his hope to escape from his demons, from all the creatures that creeped up fear in his soul. She wasn’t much really, a wounded soldier much like her but her heart was gentle, softer than any person Loki had seen and this was all he needed.
“She’s coming with me..”

That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.

The great thing about Guillermo Del Torro is that he can relate to and feel empathy for female characters without them being arousing or 100% childlike.
