As most people are working and studying from home right now, I wanted to share some concrete, implementable ways you can help yourself feel better. Though I believe productivity and quantity of work done (or lack thereof) doesn’t/shouldn’t translate into your self-worth and how you view yourself, when you get work done, you actually do feel better in your own body.
By the way, it’s the first time I’m formatting a tips/guide post like this, so I apologize that I couldn’t be more concise.
I’ve spoken to a licensed professional counsellor as well as to some professionals who have been working from home for a long time, and some of the advice above is from them. I’m also sharing from my own experience as someone who used to be very productive and an (ex-)overachiever, and still attach a lot of my self-worth to grades and other tangible accomplishments. I hope these slides can help you. In case it’s hard to read, I’ve included it (reworded) in text form if you’d like to read more.

5 WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MEMORIZATION SKILLS BEFORE YOUR NEXT EXAM
1. START PREPARING EARLY
The first thing that you need to do in order to memorize more effectively is to start preparing early. For your difficult test, I recommend beginning your study plan at least a week in advance. For easier tests, I would suggest three days in advance. What I like to do for my more difficult classes is to read through my notes, highlight important information, and create notecards after each class period. Making your study material after each class will help you to keep things fresh instead of forgetting them as soon as class is over. Having a studying plan like this will also help you to avoid procrastination, last-minute studying, and cramming!

2. CREATE NOTECARDS
Making notecards allows you to create question/answer formats similar to the exam, memorize smaller pieces of information that are much easier to digest, and test yourself (without cheating).
3. MEMORIZE THINGS IN SMALL CHUNKS
The next thing that you need to do in order to memorize more effectively is to start memorizing things in smaller chunks. Say goodbye to cramming, my friend, because it is not effective! Breaking things down into smaller, more manageable tasks will help you absorb so much more information.
4. USE KEY PHRASES, WORDS, OR LETTERS
Another thing that helps me to memorize more effectively is using little tricks like key phrases, words or letters to help me more easily recall the information.
5. REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT
As you begin learning the material for your next exam, remember to start studying at least a week in advance. This will give you plenty of time to go over your notes so that you can keep everything fresh and repeat it multiple times.
