i do kind of like the bigender label. im probably not going to use it but i do hold it and toss it around in my brain sometimes. that's a lot like me fr fr

(brief warning for blood/decay/that kinda stuff + generally horrific themes)

-- The Otherworld --

The Fog World is more or less the same as it's always been, if perhaps leaning most on Silent Hill 1, with a light snow and hefty fog that a mere light can hardly penetrate. Zandik's Otherworld, however, couldn't be more different from others seen thus far; the world is cast into what appears to be an eclipse, dark with the sun technically visible as a ring of fire in the sky, and an overbearing, suffocating heat that invades everything, at times so dry it scrapes and burns as the wind picks up debris, and at other times the humidity rises so high one could almost feel like they're melting into it.

Sand rushes from the tops of buildings and under closed doors, and pours down into absolute nothingness, falling through the oh-so-fragile grates that Zandik must trust won't give out from underneath him. Signs, fences, even walls and furniture, are eroded, the town taking on an appearance as though it had been left alone for thousands of years, and is breaking down as such. Being outdoors is treacherous and harsh, but being indoors offers little comfort, as it's rare a room doesn't have a hole or several leading back to the outside.

The sand itself is burning hot, of course, and can become quite the obstacle if one of the pillars of pouring sand is walked under, or if one needs to shove their hands into it for any reason. It's lucky Zandik has a high pain tolerance, but that won't get rid of the burns he can sustain so easily.

Blood similarly flows freely, at times being mixed with the sand, and other times acting like rain or water. Actual water is almost nonexistent while the Otherworld is active; even facets have blood flowing from them if turned on. Containers of water will have also turned to blood, and ordinary food becomes viscera and entrails.

The smell of heat and rot is inescapable in this Otherworld.

But if you thought you were alone, great news! The half-decayed corpses of smashed, sliced up, and/or diseased humans and animals and monsters alike will keep you company, even when you're not being attacked…

-- Monsters --

The design of Zandik's monsters are surgical and precise; medical science gone wrong. Creatures he could have, maybe even in some cases did, made with his own two hands, and some that have obvious "flaws" in their design that should keep them from functioning, like exposed innards or a hole where part of their spine should be, but they continue to move, twitching and spasming like they're in pain as they drag themselves around. Certain medieval medical practices are reflective in the design of some of the monsters.

They're also highly aggressive. Some shamble around slowly and groan when they haven't noticed anyone else, some play dead, but all will break into a mad dash to attack Zandik should he venture too close. They react to sound and light with a twitch or jerk in his direction, but only jump up to attack when he's within a certain distance. Some, primarily when outside, may even stalk him for quite some time.

This gets worse in the Otherworld. Elements of decay and machinery are added to their designs, and many of the monsters get substantially larger than they are normally. There's also themes of starvation and hunger, most monsters being impossibly thin, skin taut around their bones or worse, and different kinds of monsters may even try to attack and eat each other if Zandik hasn't been spotted, but this is rarely enough to put them down entirely.

The traditional nurse monsters do not exist for Zandik, instead being replaced by specific-to-him doctor-based monsters, ones that look significantly like him at all different shapes and sizes, but they otherwise fit the same design themes as the rest of the monsters do. The doctor monsters are not active in the Otherworld, but dead ones can still be found buried under sand or caught in various mechanical contraptions…

I...can't even begin to explain how much I love Han Sooyoung, Yoo Joonghyuk, and Kim Dokja's trio dynamic. I love all the relationship between KimCom but...just...

I guess KimCom is definitely a found family. It's so meaningful and heart-rending how all their dynamics work, how Dokja really acts like a dad to the kids, the sibling-like relationships between Jihye and Yoosung and Gilyoung, the camaraderie between the adults. Joonghyuk's status as the crabby uncle or something who usually does his own thing but gets dragged into family dinners, etc. etc. etc....

SAMMY/EDDIE "SKATE" HUNTER (Streets of Rage)

okay, so, on one hand i think he could handle it and would maybe even arguably find the rudie lifestyle fun - i mean he beats the shit out of mr x's evil criminal organization by breakdancing, he's definitely got the style and goofing off points for it.

BUT ON THE OTHER HAND….. his brother is a cop (later a government agent according to the wiki), and he and his ex-cop friends are all ultimately pretty anti-crime overall (beating the shit out of mr x's flunkies with your fists does not count as a crime). so maybe if he went through a really heavily rebellious phase he'd think about it but otherwise i think this is Not happening.

also i thought he was like 10 which might've also be a problem, but now that i'm looking it seems he never got a confirmed age so where the hell did my brain get THAT number.

SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG (Sonic the Hedgehog)

OHH this is a very very tricky one and i think also depends somewhat on what point in time we're talking here. the first thing that feels notable here is that shadow comes off as a pretty grim self-serious guy a lot of the time and tends to keep to himself - however, he also DOES have friends he cares deeply about (i dont care what sega says) and tends to enjoy being the coolest guy in the room. it'd also probably do him some good to have an artistic outlet for his inner darkness.

that being said, i feel like he'd find the GGs and the other rudies to be petty and juvenile (dude, you're like mentally 15! you're basically younger than the youngest GG!); and on top of that he's working pretty closely with G.U.N. which kinda makes him part of the establishment, right?

however. there is a window of time that i think shadow's odds of joining the GGs is actually very likely, which is during the era around his self-titled game. shadow is at his most lost and confused at that point (i mean you saw how many story routes there were.) and i think if he met the GGs then they would be all totally like "hey dont let people push you around into who THEY tell you you're supposed to be, make your own path" and it would emotionally resonate with him and there'd be a cool end cutscene where he's like "I… am Shadow the Hedgehog. Once born to be the ultimate lifeform, now one of the GGs. I paint my own destiny. This… is WHO I AM." and awesome credits music plays. hope you liked my shadow fanfic

PAINT ROLLER (Kirby)

are you fucking kidding me of course he would, no hesitation. he was pretty much BORN for this. maybe he'd have trouble getting the GGs to take him seriously on account of the fact he is a funny little circle, but hey the GGs let anyone join if they are cool enough at skate tricks and i think paint roller could pull it off. also i think being a funny little circle would make paint roller better at avoiding consequences.

HOWEVER. i do think that paint roller tagging up the city would eventually have dire consequences due to his art's tendency to come to life. like im talking like the streets crowded with all sorts of random creatures and objects and stuff, kirby has to show up to save the day, it's a whole Thing.

YUICHI "ICHI" TAIRA (Paranoia Agent)

fuck no, never in a million years. ichi is a Perfect Little Straight A's Golden Student Who Everybody Loves and frankly he's furious that you'd even imply he'd consider turning to delinquency. he'd probably regard the GGs as selfish attention whores who only cause trouble because they're too pathetic to get anyone to like them. it's NOT FAIR that you're confusing ICHI with that brat beat just because they both wear golden skates!!!

i think though that in a direct confrontation he'd actually be pretty scared of rudies, cuz like, ichi is only about 13 while even the youngest GG is 16. he'd totally want to tell them to their faces how worthless they are and how they're ruining everything for everyone with common sense, but instead he'll just call the cops on them.

SHOUNEN BAT/LIL' SLUGGER (Paranoia Agent)

Uh. Well . if you know his deal already then you probably already know the answer is "I don't think that would even be fucking possible". like can you IMAGINE. but even certain details about his nature aside, i think he's just plain too malevolent for the GGs, though.

(now, a certain spoiler character, on the other hand. i honestly don't think he'd try to join the GGs. but i think he theoretically COULD'VE and if he did i think it would have been MUCH better for him than what he actually did.)

i hate anytime anyone says like "You should just do this one specific thing with writing bc it's the superior way of writing and everything else sucks" bc im like well what if i dont want to do that with my writing. i rather like how my writing is as it is. & then it makes me feel self conscious of my writing. bc brains are bitches i guess.

#speculation nation #like i do take writing advice into consideration bc it's not like my writing is perfect #there are still things i could improve on. & im working on them.#but. sometimes ppl r just so... generalizing.#this is Specifically with regards to the sentiment ive seen going around of 'it's best to just stick to 'said'' with dialogue tags #and i... dont like doing that.#i find it Fun to think on whether theres a more descriptive word!#and it can really embellish the writing when you find the right ones #and i also like to intersperse dialogue among actions and thoughts. to mix it up & all #'said' just feels very... bland to me. i dont like using it much.#im trying to work on using it if theres just not a more descriptive tag that properly fits. & there's not an action i can easily insert #bc i do agree that overusing synonyms of 'said' gets you that My Immortal type of screenshot #it's about moderation. it's all about moderation.#i know im overthinking this. i KNOW plenty of people have said they like how i write.#but when i see something like this that contradicts the way that i write. it makes me so incredibly self conscious i find it hard to write.#the thing is i try to seem confident on ao3 but i am anything but. even after 640k words posted my confidence is flimsy at best #so even one statement that could be read as anything other than a glowing review makes me so self conscious i wanna curl up in a ball #gaaaah brain's a bitch. anytime i start getting self doubts i try to just shut up about it so i dont bother anyone else with it #since it happens... unfortunately very often. thinking about twins getting reunited in hisui by way of emmet falling rather than ingo being returned to his own time in unova... pulling the ol switcheroo in that emmet also loses access to all of his memories in the fall save for his own name, but for ingo, when he sees emmet, it’s like a jolt to the system that sends a precious few memories flooding back to him. like, this is him, this is the man that’s been haunting the back of his mind just out of reach, this is EMMET this is his brother who meant and means the world to him. how could he forget? moreover, why can’t he remember more than this, even now?

emmet, for his part, realizes that ingo looks exactly like him and as such doesn’t doubt ingo’s claiming to be his brother, but the memory is just... not... there. no recognition of what little ingo recalls; there is at best only a passing sense of familiarity that could be missed were he not looking for it. still, surrounded by people he doesn’t necessarily understand in a place he certainly doesn’t, this is enough for him to take a preference to remaining by ingo’s side.

(i like to think that the first memory emmet recovers, ghost though it is, is dug up watching ingo battle in jubilife... the incredible sense of deja vu watching him point and call out his commands... it spurs on this overwhelming urge to stop what he’s doing and take a place at his side, to act as a mirror image. he can picture it, it feels like he’s done it before, he wants to do it...)

#uhhh [leans into microphone] they fall in love for a second time your honor #or it is more of a rediscovery rather #hee hoo hee ingo remembering mostly just emmets name and the general significance he holds but not necessarily #the finer details of that relationship beyond their bond as brothers #however over months there is a particular feeling that begins to surface that ingo knows in his heart is not new #but whether emmet once shared it is yet unknown to him... and even if he did #it is all but a certainty he doesn't remember now #god........ pining........#ingo looking at emmet in profile by lamplight and knowing this to be love #knowing that he has probably been in love with emmet his entire life #but he mustn't say anything... not now when they have only just begun to rebuild their bond not on the foundation of memory #but of this life they now share #*vomits* sorry im diseased #i had really good tag rambles about this but i accidentally deleted them all please learn from my hubris #i also DONT. know if this is coherent thats a problem for me Later.

like i know ive never liked dream & have been vocal with my criticisms of him for the past 2 years so i probably dont have too many dream stans who stuck around through my lame ass mcc crit but are still supporting him through THIS but i want to say it anyways. dream acted inappropriately with fans, CONFIRMED THAT HIMSELF, and even almost implied that he still responds to fans’ dms like this? whether or not the sexual implications are true, which to me it honestly seems like they are, i do not want to support someone who would have relationships with that sort of power imbalance & any of you who are still supporting him i dont want following me.

it makes me so mad that people are defending him?? he literally admitted to those instagram dms with Amanda meaning he admitted to giving her his private snap ? he mentioned that moving snap accounts likely triggered this CONFIRMING HE GAVE HER HIS PRIV SNAP & TALKED TO HER ON IT ? hi um thats the most irresponsible thing a content creator could ever do regardless of if he sexted with her and regardless of her age ??

and even besides that we KNOW hes irresponsible w/ his platform. weve KNOWN that. getting minors’ addresses doxxed bc he cant stand not responding to crit on Twitter? tweeting stupid ass fucking shit about smaller creators (scott smajor for example) and getting his army of stans to harass them? his general terrible fucking way of dealing with any sort of criticism? if we sweep this under the rug it will happen again but worse and worse. thats the pattern and honestly it sucks that people couldn’t see that until it came out that he groomed someone (possibly multiple people) and he was allowed to continue, but we cannot allow him to continue past this. it will only get worse
