id be like "sorry for not posting (excuse) happened" but the excuse this time is that the new stardew valley update came out and almost every single moment of free time ive had is used to play it. my bad
at the same time my brain decided that its been long enough and now lea is occupying almost every thought i have (expect more art here soon......) and im not allowing myself to open crosscode until i finish my new farm so i thought why not just combine the two... it was fun designing her! :]
do you prefer mike or will to make the first move in s5?
1000% mike.
don't get me wrong -- i love the idea of will being confident, of going for mike because he loves him and he wants him and he knows mike loves him and wants him too, and i love seeing this play out in fic -- but in canon, i just don't think it would happen! i think that, as of the end of season 4, will has fully accepted that he will never have mike in that way. it's not in the cards for him for several reasons: he is gay in a rough political climate, he is under the impression that mike is in love with el (and even if they broke up, i don't think he'd make a move on mike out of respect for that relationship, even if it's over -- not without explicit blessing from el), and i think that because of the way his feelings for mike empower him to feel like his homosexuality is something natural and organic, i think that he'd be satisfied with just that? he'd be okay living with the feelings without acting on them, because he's selfless. he puts everyone's happiness before his own. and all of those reasons, coupled with the fact that he absolutely doesn't think mike reciprocates his feelings, he'd never act on them. i think he'd consider it forcing mike's hand, and will is many, many complex things, but he isn't forceful. not like that.
which is why it's so important for mike to be the one to act, because mike is the one who can dismantle all of those "truths" that apply to him in will's head. he can show will that will is the one he's in love with, he can show will that loving him is more important to mike than what the world says, he can show will that this kind of love is not only a possibility for him, but his reality. that he is not only capable of having a romantic connection, but worthy of it in every way. he can reinforce the notion that yes, these feelings between them are organic and real and nothing to be ashamed of. that he is not being forced into this, because he is just as eager for it as will is.
that's what makes sense to me, anyway, with the way that s4 left off. thank you for the ask!!
Just started Staged 3 and already the vibes are “off” and tbh it’s ‘cause it’s unbelievable that Michael Sheen would be that annoyed with David Tennant as if he isn’t constantly falling out of his chair trying to Megamind David into kissing him
