february 29th & yes i am not joking i was born on leap year and my day of birth only exists once every 4 years

3. where do you live?

in super mega ultra hell. is that meme already dead bc idk i like the verbiage of it lmao- no but for real i live in missouri, and there isn’t much to do other than stare at a giant hunk of curved metal and eat barbecue that the locals tell u is the best thing since sliced bread & maybe it is i just don’t like it myself ahaha

4. three (3) things you are doing right now?

aside from answering this? well listening to 9 to 5 by dolly parton bc yeehaw, petting my cat who’s curled up on my foot, and slowly waiting for the day to end

5. four (4) fandoms that have peaked your interest?

oh god there r too many to count but as of rn? probs wrestling, buzzfeed unsolved, rupaul’s drag race & just drag in general, and achievement hunter

6. how has the pandemic been treating you?

um... if you would like the honest answer, not great... i lost my job in august so i haven’t been employed for a few months now. my dad hasn’t been making the money he used to so i’ve started helping paying the bills w/ the funds i had saved for going back to college from when i did have that job. sort of become a recluse again, where i almost never leave the house outside of small trips to the store or the literal once in a blue moon going and social distantly see a friend. it’s basically the life i lived in early 2019 while i’m very lonely all the time while trying to solve the problems of my family as the same time? whatever who cares i’m moving on

7. a song you can’t stop listening to right now?

oddly enough, ‘positions’ by ariana grande! i don’t listen to her all that often but for some reason this song really stuck to me! i especially like the versions of it where it’s slowed down and had reverb!

8. recommend a movie?

this might be out of left field, but ‘motocrossed’! it’s one of those disney channel original movies that i grew up with and it’s still pretty good to this day! the movie’s about (and this is in the words of the legendary nakeyjakey) girls pretending to be boys so they can ride dirt bikes

9. how old are you?

10. school, university, occupation, other?

as i said before i am now unemployed. and before that i did try to go to university once but failed out of all my classes due to never going to them because i couldn’t force myself to get out of bed. i want to go back to school so fucking bad for secondary education physics as a practical career. but recently i’ve been teasing the idea of becoming a ring announcer because my voice was build to shout really loud, but who knows, u know?

11. do you prefer heat or cold?

cold 100% bc i cannot function in environments above 75° (fahrenheit). like it can be -7° outside and i’ll be pleased as punch but as soon as it gets up there in temp? i melt like a popsicle

12. name one fact others may not know about you.

i used to be a gymnast! did all the flipping and the balance beam stuff & maybe thinking abt doing it again. idk i just want to do a backflip and have cool muscles

it kinda depends? i can be the most loud and unabashed son of a bitch if i want to, but sometimes i do get into my own head and go silent and nervous.

okay this isn’t as profound or interesting as summer’s was, but people who scrape their forks against their teeth! it is one the worst sounds known to man and it hurts my already messed up ears

if we aren’t counting the fact that i’m an asshole, i would say that i have the worst tendency to delete messages i send after a while. basically my brain goes into panic mode if someone isn’t responding back thinking “ur annoying them, they don’t want to talk to u. u should delete what u sent because u should have never of said anything in the first place! only speak when spoken to!” u know, the usual.

Also, we’ll be occupied with overseas tour and such from now on……

Because of someone’s fault, we must bring order to the desolated sister schools of Yumenosaki Gakuen around the world[1]

To become the idol, “fine”, which he aspires, there’s no suitable environment at home to practice singing and such

So, we would occasionally sneak away from the estate to sing and dance at the karaoke

This was before the equipment like karaoke room or such is arranged at home, it’s before we enter the school

It was a nice breather for Bocchama who was busy with his practice and social life

Yeah! As expected, singing and dancing is simply fun……☆

The “original dance” class, I don’t know whether I can do it well or no. Maybe I’ll fail miserably in shame and everyone will make fun of me

But this experience surely won’t be in vain. I believe that

I’m always worrying about whether letting go of my future where I go together with Tsumugi to karaoke as normal high school student is the right choice or no

If I would arrive in future such as this, I think I can face my former friend who I hurt and atone for it

It won’t erase my feeling of sorry or feeling of guilty, though

Tales of the Rays: Fairy’s Requiem Chapter 7 Summary (Parts 1 - 5)

I’m still not over this chapter, so here’s a summary of the first half. I’ll do the last half sometime soon or when I have free time. In the meantime, if you wished to check out some untidy ramblings about the story, I have linked some of my relevant tweet chains under the cut. Please enjoy!

Note: I am open to corrections, in case you find something iffy about what I’ve summarized/translated! There are clearly some parts I paid more attention to than others, ahaha...

Part 1

The chapter opens with Luke, Tear, Mieu, and Jade talking among themselves regarding Luke’s condition and the fact that Lorelei was exoflected.

Ever since he heard that Lorelei got exoflected, Luke had been worried about disappearing. So far, his body showed no signs of breaking apart, but he's worried all the same. On Jade's end, he explains that when the seventh fonon is exoflected, it's turned into an approximate equivalent in Tir Na Nog thanks to encoding. So rather than the Seventh Fonon being exoflected, it's already been changed to fit the laws of the world. And since Luke had already been exoflected, it means that there already is an encoded version of the existing seventh fonons.

Their theorizing and Luke's worrying is interrupted by the rest of the Abyss cast filing in (Guy, Natalia, Asch, Anise). Who, well, discover that Luke was due to disappear. Natalia says there's no use hiding it from them, since she noticed Luke had been broody since he learned Lorelei was exoflected, and noticed something was up.

Asch demands an explanation from Jade, but Luke opts to be the one to explain stuff, and there's a small fade to black as everything is explained…

Asch TL;DRs the whole thing by saying that Luke was undergoing fonon separation prior to getting exoflected, and was due to disappear. When Luke got exoflected, his fonon separation halted due to the change in environment. Luke looks to Jade for confirmation, and he says yes and follows up a bit. Jade says that because Lorelei was exoflected, the environment is becoming quite similar to how it was in Auldrant. And while Luke's fonon separation has not begun, they need to be on alert for the possibility.

Asch: ...Tsk. Wherever we go, you really need some delicate handling, replica.

Luke: ...Sorry.

Asch: Who told you to apologize?!

Natalia: Asch! You've also been acting funny lately. Since you've heard about Lorelei getting exoflected, you've returned to how you were when we were first exoflected.

Asch: …!

Jade: Indeed, because it seems that Asch is under the impression that he's going to disappear.

Asch: ……….

Natalia: Huh? What's the meaning of this, Asch?!

Asch: ---Necromancer, am I going to disappear?

Jade: This world and Auldrant's conditions are too different from each other. I cannot say for certain with regard to the future.

Jade: But at the moment, as an original, your life is not in danger.

Jade: Lorelei was exoflected as a spirit here. Already, seventh fonon studies material from Auldrant cannot be used as references.

Then Jade says that Asch's fretting and impatience in their original world is no longer necessary here. And then proceeds to say that he's cutting off the explanation there and thinks it's unnecessary for him to go more detailed, since there's no one else that knows anything about fomicry more than him. Asch snarks back by saying that Jade's manner of speaking, as usual, is quite irritating. But he buys what Jade is saying, because he can't really imagine Jade lying to reassure him. Guy is rather curious why Asch thinks he's going to disappear, but Asch decides to opt out of the explanation because it's a long story. He does apologize for snapping at Luke and Natalia as a result of his misconceptions.

But then, that brings them to the matter of being unable to rest at ease with regard to Luke's condition. Jade doesn't deny what Asch said, and says it's the reason why he wants to speak to the spirit Lorelei. As it seems, fonons have been replaced by chiral particles in this world, and Jade is concerned about how the special characteristics got translated, since there's more to fonons than meets the eye. He's not sure if those other characteristics got translated into a chiral molecule property or was incorporated into anima, which is unique to Tir Na Nog.

So the concern now is that Lorelei's exoflection may have caused those rules to change as well, because of "layered processing" done at the time. TL;DR, as mentioned by Guy, it's necessary to speak to Lorelei just to determine how the nature of the translated Seventh Fonon changed.

This time, they're interrupted by Ix calling them over mirrage comm. It seems that an overseer from the Empire has arrived in the Auldrant territory, and the person's name is in the nexus list. His name is Ion...

Part 2

Mercuria is not happy, wondering what's taking Demitrius. Chigal tries to reassure her, but she starts musing about how Demitrius is keeping so many secrets from her lately. Much musing ensues, and Chigal ends up bringing up that Nuadha used to call Demitrius "kind poison".

Demitrius eventually arrives. As a result of his bargaining with Glastein from the previous chapter, it is revealed that Richter got turned into a Living Doll β. Mercuria is devastated to find out what happened to Richter, who doesn't recognize her at all. Regal has also been β'd, and they've come to take away Chigal and Junior. Chigal and Junior make a promise to Mercuria to return.

Mercuria ends up excusing herself despite Demitrius' apologies, and quietly starts scheming a way to get her subordinates back, as she now has second thoughts about whether Living Dolls really are the right way to go about getting Bifrost back. Lukius tags along as Mercuria sets off to discuss more of her plans in private.

Part 3

Ix, Mileena, Karia, Kocis, and the Abyss cast arrive in the Auldrant portion of Tir Na Nog--Daath, specifically. Tear muses about the fact that the capital of the section is called "Daath", while Natalia and Asch worry about Woodrow given the previous chapter's events.

In the meantime, Luke and Ix are musing about the fact that this was around the place where the fake Jade had surfaced back in the day. Karia bemoans the fact that the real Jade isn't like the fake, who was kind and gentlemanly. Jade pretends to be hurt over this fact, much to Karia's consternation.

Luke then asks after Anise, who says she's fine. Ix then comments that she seems to be filled with sorrow whenever Ion's name comes up and wonders why that's the case, but then backpedals a bit and says she doesn't have to say it if the Auldrant people think it's unnecessary to say so. Jade encourages her to speak up about it--and Mileena as well (for a separate matter)--as the continued survival of the world depends on it.

But before they could go any further with this line of thought, Karia shrieks, as she finds something rather horrific in the middle of the town…

...a Jade statue.

Kocis: Whoa, what’s the meaning of this…?

Asch: What’s a statue of this guy doing here…

Anise: I-is this for real…

Guy: That’s a work of art right there, Jade!

Should Mileena take a souvenir photo?

Jade: I will kill you, Guy.

Their surprise tour is cut short by a familiar shriek, which Ix seems to recognize.

???: Khhh! Call the one responsible for this! Now!

Ix: ...Huh? That voice, could it be…

Jade: Oh? Is it your acquaintance, Ix?

Ix: What?! No, but, isn't that--

Local: Oh boy, it's Dist the Reaper. You guys should probably get out of here.

Local: That guy… He just came here yesterday, but he seems to consider St. Jade as some sort of rival.

Luke: Oh… And I was relieved that we haven't seen much of him lately.

Asch: …

Natalia: Asch?

Mileena: Everyone, it'd be bad if we ran into Dist, so let's hide by the shrubbery over there. It's quite troublesome.

Jade: I have no objections. Everyone will be keeping a distance from that broken drainage pipe.

To no one's surprise, Dist seems to have taken major issues with the Jade statue and wants to destroy it. And Jade, for once, finds himself agreeing with Dist.

It's around that time that the overseer Ion appears, who Dist greets. Asch proposes they strike, while Luke comments that the overseer Ion seems to be in the same state as Woodrow before. And Natalia surmises that this Ion got Living Doll β'd. It's around this time that Jade gives the go signal for them to jump in and try to save Ion.

Part 4

The party defeats the guards, and Guy asks Dist to hand over Ion. Anise still doesn't have so many words to spare and is acting a little strangely. Dist tries to shake her up by going as far to refer to Ion as the "master that she got killed", to which Anise responds that she's not easily that shaken up, and proceeds to go in for the kill...

However, Asch stops her. Anise is not happy and says he's attacking the wrong person. Asch says there's no mistake about what he's doing. Asch says he has some business with Lorelei. Dist asks if Asch is betraying Jade and the rest of the gang, to which Asch more or less roundaboutly says yes to. Though not without calling him "The Runny", much to Dist's chagrin.

Whatever the case is, Dist welcomes the prospect, since with Asch by his side he can further fomicry research, and he doesn't really care so much about the Empire's goals.

At this point, Dist has the group cornered with his robots, but Ix and Mileena have a trick up their sleeves, which is a transfer gate. The party (minus Asch) uses that to escape.

Asch is left with Dist, and demands that he be taken to Lorelei. Dist isn't too sold about being ordered around, as well as where Asch's loyalties lie. He needs more proof that Asch has betrayed Jade and the rest before doing so.

Back in the base, Ix suffers from side effects of using the transfer gate. Jade says he will explain things once they get Ix to their clinic.

Part 5

Meanwhile, in the Salvation Front, Marcus has gathered his troops to do some relocation work. He plans to start using the Altamira base they acquired from the casino event--a decision that is met with much protest. But it's a necessary decision given the danger of being in the Heimdallr from that point forward.

Phil continues to fret about things, and Sync pushes him to tell the truth to Ix. Because the longer he puts it off, the more difficult it would get.

One of the Salvation Front members pleads with Marcus again, but the conversation is interrupted by Sync, who spots an unconscious Barbatos, who was captured and turned into a Living Doll previously. The soldier with them speculates that Barbatos may have escaped from prison.

Marcus gets some info from an imperial soldier that had been chasing Barbatos, and tells the the Salvation Front soldier to escape along with the others while he and Sync take care of business there.

Hey Adzie! What are your thoughts on people, such as ImAllexx, accusing the Phandom of essentially ruining Dan's life and preaching that we basically shouldn't knowledge their bond/potential relationship at all, if you don't mind sharing?

(just want to apologise for all the commas and dashes - I honestly have no idea when the right time to use one is i just do it when my brain pauses in a sentence and it makes it easier for me to process what i’m saying when reading back ahaha)

I don’t really want to watch a monetised discussion video to Dan’s coming out video tbh. From what I’ve seen others who have watched it and have saide about what it involves, it seems Alex is jumping on a misinformation and inexperienced-of-the-phandom-history train to voice an opinion and create more talk about and in a community that already has a bad public image from (understandably not so good) past behaviours of certain individuals/groups of individuals.

Again, I doubt this was Alex’s intention, and I think without proper pieces to the puzzle, it’s easy to fill the gaps with your own opinions and speculations of the people involved. Heck I may be being a bit hyprocritical here for not .. watching the video but… err … overall, I mainly trust Nora’s @pseudophan judgement that she expressed in her reply tweets here because it’s my understanding she’s a fan of Alex’s videos usually and I feel like she’d be able to shape an opinion regarding his content and new video better than I could :). I also agree with others who are adding to the points Nora gave (the majority seem to be saying this).

Speaking outside of Alex’s video - There’s been this weird rise of people saying stuff along the lines of ‘DON’T FETISHISE DAN AND PHIL, STOP MAKING THIS ABOUT PHAN’ … and I just wanna add my two cents…

1) in regards to fetishising - I want to argue the majority of folks NOW aren’t sexualising dan/phil/their relationship - from what I’ve seen, solely on twitter mind you, it’s just folks reminiscing or being reminded of on old content that’s already public and applying a new context now that we know more about Dan, and from this, enjoying the idea of two, now out, queer people being happy together (in interactions or in a relationship) ☺♡ That can sadly still be a rarity in this world we live in, so it’s honestly just… heartwarming to see! People should be allowed to enjoy that!

I think I’ve mentioned this before already, but I speak for myself as a queer person when I say I’ve always resonated with both Dan, Phil, their experiences, and their seemingly growing harmonious, happy and safe relationship, even before I really knew I was queer myself, and now I have more knowledge about who they are and what that means to them themselves, it ultimately shines a more validating light over all of what they’ve done together and shared with us ♡

I believe if others like me wanna express that joyful reassurance (or any other feeling, or just general joy for dan and phil) in the form of a fan fic, fanart etc. - which dnp, even before they were out, have both expressed multiple times is OKAY, and even taken part in themselves both in TABINOF, their videos and TATINOF, and II. It’s simply a form of creativity, feeling and I honestly think D&P have expressed enough. They GET IT and it’s okay to do.

To reiterate, boundaries should be established and respected, but overall I believe the majority of people are happy for Dan (and Phil) and their relationship they have. If I haven’t impled already - it’s empathy, it’s relatability, it’s forming a community and expressive art of all kinds in that community around those things.

I’d also argue, there are those who wanna disrupt all that jazz, those who don’t feel the same way (not the ones who don’t mind/care like y’all chill but the ones who get angry at it all or feel the need to protect Dan and Phil from ??? it??), are usually the ones who ignored and denied this outcome of Dan (and/Phil) coming out / being together ever being a possibility in the first place.

Yes, there is definitely an issue of folks sexualising online personas of real people, and it’s hard to tackle because it’s still so new in the grand scheme of things… and yes, fetishising queer people in general, outside of the phandom, is very much a thing …but I want to believe most of those/us involved in the phandom have grown from and past the evidence folks (like Alex) used which, from what I’ve seen people say, is dated. I want to believe it’s different, we’re different now and from that… I want to believe one of the reasons Dan came out now is because he’s felt that change and difference too.

2) In regards to ‘phan’ - Dan made it clear in his video, his queer story, that Phil was a vital part of it. Phil was a vital part of his growth in feeling safe and happy and it’s likely without that, Dan wouldn’t be where/who he is today or out and proud like he is now. The audience/phandom who’d I’d argue are of a majority queer/LGTBQIA+ which adds a whole over layer I’ve already expressed embracing and continuing to love this aspect of Dan’s life that/who happens to also be Phil, is not on the same level as someone being like ‘omgggg phan is real’ or ‘omggg my ship is canon!!’. I feel like this is a very common misconception people have of the [demon] phannies/people who appeared to ‘ship’ D&P… in and outside the phandom.

I want to put forward also that generally speaking ‘phan’ is a term used to abbreviate ‘dan and phil’s relationship’, usually in romantic/sexual/whatever contexts, so in a way, yes, at the same time, TECHNICALLY, ‘phan’ is and has been real, but NOW, with new context (and for those who discovered/concluded this for themselves before Dan’s video), it’s not about shipping or our perception of what D&P’s relationship is, so ‘phan’ as a term isn’t necessary – and, really wasn’t ever but !! language is annoying. – it’s about the reality of D&P and what their relationship is to each other.

Personally speaking, I’ll say what I’ve said for the last few years when I moved away from ‘shipping’ them and seeing myself and my relationship in them/theirs… I just like seeing two people I care about, care about each other and be happy together. The layers of them being men expressing themselves openly with each other (and us), men who have experienced something ‘more than romantic’ together, queer/gay/out men who describe themselves as ‘soulmates’ is significant too. They’re going to mean something to people and honestly to just say that we’re ‘making it about ‘phan’’ as a ship, is not cool and a misunderstanding of what’s really happening.

I think, if people want to use the term ‘phan’ for convenience (e.g. I use ‘phan’ as a tag just to categorise any content to do with dan and phil, it isn’t to do with their relationship aside from the fact that they do stuff together) instead of using the clunky ‘dan and phil’s relationship’ phrase like I have been doing throughout this reply - that’s like.. okay.. imo. It’s not ideal, sure, but, it communicates what you’re trying to say clearly! Again. Language is annoying, communication is hard when it is.

I’ll be talking about all my oc’s here in general when I can, but focusing on Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia.

1) What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.?)

Appearance aha I’m a visual person, so first thing I do when creating a character is draw them out and create everything else from that.

Or, well, their country actually??? But appearance was first thing down.

2) Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Well, they are fandom oc’s so yes aha More specifically, I wanted Slovenia to have a connection to Austria to symbolize that long rule (Slo’s purple eyes) and his hair curl mimic’s Slovakia’s, Bos has a skin tone more similar to Turkey for that connection, Cro’s eyes are golden brown and green for his connection to N Italy and Hungary, and within my oc’s Serbia and Voj have always had the same shade of green eyes.

3) How did you choose their name?

Don’t even get me started on how long it took to settle on Serbia’s human name.

First it was Vuk because I liked the sound of it and felt wolf as a name meaning fit real well, but after a bit I was like “hmmm, why does an aph Serbia named Vuk sound familiar’ and remembered Yugotalia. So I changed Vuk even though it was my top choice because I didn’t want people coming in my inbox like ‘WHY U STEALING FROM TIX.’ Sooo, I changed it to something else and used one of the many Vuk-related last names instead. Picked a new name (which I don't remember anymore) but then googled it with his last name and like.....an article in Serbian about a grave robber came up so I changed that name.... Went through two more names I didn’t like before settling on Novak.

Also I 100% did not choose it because of the tennis player. I actually originally actively ignored it and went with Vuk because choosing a name of a celebrity is eh, but I was so fed up trying to find a name that I forgot about him and went with Novak (which sounded good to my ears) and like......2 months later the Olympics happened and I was looking up tennis scores and saw Djokovic’s name and just went ‘GODAMNIT’ But didn’t change it again ahaha

For Bosnia, I didn’t actually want to go with Lejla because I don’t really like choosing the most common names, but Lejla/Layla in all spellings has been one of my fav names since forever so Lejla it is.

Slovenia was a good boy, it didn’t take me too long to settle on Primož.

Cro was almost as bad as Serbia in finding a name. Nothing sounded right to me? And Sounding Right is a big part in choosing names for me so he went nameless quite a while. Eventually settled on Krešimir because it sounded the least bad.....I love it now though, he’s forever Krešo in my head.

4) In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

Well. I mean the being countries bit? I’m not totally sure how to answer this.

5) Is there any significance behind their hair colour?

They all have brown hair because that’s the most common color in their countries.

Fun fact for Slo: he originally had a darker hair color, but then I realized that uh.....it was a reallyyyyy similar shade of brown I used for Slovakia and like I’m not that mean, so I lightened his hair.

6) Is there any significance behind their eye colour?

None for Bos, besides it being the most common color. I’m also pretty sure I picked green for Serbia because I wanted him to stand out among the other oc’s as I don't think any other male Serbia has green eyes.

Slo, as mentioned above, has purple eyes to connect him to Austria to signify the loooong time Slovenia was under Austrian rule.

And, again, mentioned above for Cro it’s a connection to both N Italy and Hungary.

7) Is there any significance behind their height?

They’re all really, really tall because this area has some of the tallest people in the world! Slovenia is the shortest of the men because they have the shortest height, but he’s still closer to 6 foot than he isn’t.

8) What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

Not gonna lie, hope I don’t relate much to them because yikes, they are not human beings and have done Some Things. But uuuuh, Serb and Cro’s confidence, Slo’s love of literature, Bos’s fashion sense.

9) Are they based off of you, in some way?

I mean, what oc isn’t really? These guys aren’t based on me much though. At most, I’m super feminine and like super feminine characters being unashamedly feminine and created Bosnia with that in mind when I revamped her as a girl.

10) Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Yes/No. I have complicated headcanon’s about the nature of nation’s gender and sexuality in the hetalia verse, so I already knew those, but sexualities in like human au’s is always fluid and changing for these guys. Or in the case of Slo, just straight up doesn’t exist.

11) What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: Writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

Nothing really? Writing maybe, if I had to pick.

12) How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

Well. I can’t see the future so not very P:

13) If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

Serb: He’s incredibly complicated. Fun, extroverted guy is a cover for all sorts of much deeper inner thoughts.

Cro: He has a quick temper that can get bad, but is usually pretty jovial and joking. He’s more brawn than brains, but is still pretty intuitive.

Slo: He wants what other people have so always acts “proper.” He’s also a bit more mentally young than you would expect.

Bos: She is the gentlest, friendliest person you’ll ever meet. She’s also a simmering ball of anger and resentment deep inside.

14) What is something about your OC that can make you laugh?

They are all dorks so, so much sdhfjksd

Bos totally never had a crush on Turkey nope. Serbia’s secret love of Turkish soap operas. Kid!Croatia being down to fight anything. Turning Slo into a meme every few months on this blog.

15) What is something about your OC can make you cry?

Uuuuuh, all of their histories? And having to figure out how to incorporate that into a single person who faced all that trauma? Not a happy little corner here...

16) Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

Nnnnnnno. Most of the stuff I would regret, I never officially added to their stories and kept it in my head.

17) What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

Oh gosh. Slovenia, I’ve decided, keeps bees. That’s the only one I can think of at the moment ;;

18) What is your favourite fact about your OC?

Croatia spent a few years as a kid as a pirate.

Slovenia writes poetry but is embarrassed to admit he does.

Bosnia was an absolute little shit as a kid.

Serbia absolutely loves soap opera’s and chick flicks and the like and will do anything to keep that a secret.

rip that’s all I write too... tbh I used to write original fiction before but I find myself much less constricted by fanfic? I can explore the characters here more than I can in original fiction where worldbuilding takes most effort

oh definitely paper! if I could I’d buy printed out fanfic too!

4) When did you start writing?

I was about 12 I think? it all started with harry potter, like everything else has, and I regret not a second of it!

sometimes when i get very excited about what i’m writing i’ll tell my fandom friends about the specific AU that i’m writing about but in terms of reading the full length fic, i don’t have anyone that i let read before anyone else. it’ll be on ao3 for everyone at the same time.

6) Where is your favourite place to write?

my desk, my pc. I can write on my phone but I like to edit as I go and it’s hard to do on the phone.

everything? like, any random thing or thought I’m instantly trying to weave into my writing, turn it into a prompt. every new experience is just a basis for me to write on.

but if you’re asking WHY I write: I don’t even know, I’ve never thought about it? it’s kind of like asking why I breathe ahaha I just do? it’s a part of me? idk man idk

oh wow ok this is a difficult one bc I don’t think I even have a wip 7 pages long //sweats let me see... aha, okay, I found one! from back in march when I asked people to send me over some numbers for one of those writing memes and @theexitgarden I believe (??) sent me the prompt “I don’t think anyone could be as lovely as you” for victuuri and I kind of got a blind!victor au from it?? wELP here’s the fragment of it:

His music is vibrant in a way that he couldn't play on his piano alone and the clap of the blades that he can hear from the speakers of his TV makes him only more certain – this boy, Yuuri Katsuki, is skating to the sound of Victor's soul as if it's his own.

He never notices the tears that well up in his eyes until they roll down his cheeks and Makkachin presses against his side, whimpering in concern. Victor runs a trembling hand through her soft fur and takes a deep breath. And then, he decides.

"Yasha," he says when his former coach, his father in all but blood picks up Victor’s call. "I want to do this."

Mmm...probably drawing because apparently, a lot of you guys like my art~~ <3 Thank you so much for all the support! It really means a lot! <3 I don’t have much to say, so I won’t go on and on lol (plus, I think it’d be boring to read, and it kinda feels wrong—kinda like bragging??)

3. What is your favorite book and why? Or TV show/anime/movie if you don’t like books?

After Ever After by Jordan Sonnenblick because it broke my heart, and Jeffery is totally relatable and lovable. And my favorite anime is Boku no Hero Academia because the plot is very unique (though it may not seem like it since it uses the basic idea of hero school), like the way that the whole story takes an unexpected turn in the first episode ;) (no spoilers lol) And all the main characters are well-thought out, and are really relatable/likeable. They all just seem so human, so I really like that.

4. Which fictional character do you relate to the most? (And why, if you want?)

Oh snap, this is a hard question...I think at first, it was Midoriya from BNHA, because he was just a lame kid, who had dreams that seemed so far out of reach. He was totally unconfident in his own abilities, which I think a lot of people can relate to, and I guess he just seems vulnerable like a normal human. But now, he’s totally epic, and his resolve has long surpassed mine, so I feel less like I can relate to him?? Maybe Bakugou is more relatable now because he has those deep confidence issues, and is constantly trying his best to get better, though sometimes, he takes a step in the wrong direction. I feel like I do that a lot. I always want to improve, so I make stupid mistakes, and end up farther from my goal (like my wrist pain :’)). And then, he has that whole jealous thing/fear of being surpassed with Midoriya, and that’s something that I sometimes feel, though not as strongly and often lol And then with his whole “this happened because of me” around chapter 120 is totally relatable cuz sometimes I just feel like things are my fault even though people say it’s not?? So yeah...I guess Bakugou just has more flaws, and as a person with many flaws, I relate to him LOL

5. Do you have any collections? If so, what do you collect?

I used to collect stickers, though I kinda dropped that...Now I have a ton of stickers for no reason lol

6. What are your top three best personality traits, and what is one thing about your personality that you want to work on?

Top three as in personality traits I like? Or traits I have? I’ll just do like because that’s easier LOL I love someone who’s considerate, understanding, and patient. One thing I’d like to work on is my anxiety…? Or maybe I’d like to be more open?? Or considerate?? Aw, man, it’s hard to choose one. SO YOU GET ALL THESE lol

7. Do you have any pets? If so, what is/are their personality/personalities like?

Yes! I have a dog named Po~~ <3 He’s a total coward, completely skittish around strangers and other dogs, but he’s such a cutey around people he’s comfy with. He loves being scratched, and sometimes even gets your attention by pretending he wants to play (whether it be by jumping on you or making noises so you notice him), so you’ll chase him when he suddenly just lies down and spreads his legs to signify a scratch session lol And he’s just super adorable when he wants to cuddle or comes to greet my family at the front door. <3

8. What is your preferred study method?

I prefer to not study at all. LOL But if I had to, I’d like to have an organized study guide, with a detailed explanation of everything on the test so I can actually understand the material, and not just memorize facts. I’d like to know why I should do certain things in order to come to a conclusion, so I can completely understand and simplify things if necessary. (I usually like a visual/text to help if that’s what you meant LOL)

9. What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done?

Uhhh...tbh I’m not a very adventurous person...Maybe something like jumping off a ledge a few meters high, or jumping out of a short tree...nothing really extreme...Well, I guess I went to one of those fake rock climbing center things with the colorful rocks, and made it to the top of a super tall wall (with gear of course)...does that count??

10. What are your life goals?

Be happy, healthy, and become a comic book artist/writer with a nice family and nice friends. LOL i don’t have too many goals.

11. What is your favorite part of being on Tumblr?

THE PEOPLE! Tbh, that’s the main reason I stay on tumblr. I’ve met so many lovely people, and made so many amazing friends, so I can’t just leave! Aw man, you guys rock~ <3

1. Are there any new hobbies or new skills you want to try/learn?

Hmmm...maybe painting with oil paints? I’ve always been curious, though I haven’t really done any research or anything ^^; But aside from art, maybe some sort of exercise?? Lol idk

2. Do you believe in anything supernatural? (if you have stories please share, I find them fun to read)

Um, not really?? I don’t really believe in those things ahaha

3. What’s your favourite historical era and why?

To learn about?? Probably Ancient Egypt because it’s so crazy, the things they used to do...Their religion, culture...just everything lol

4. What is one of the strangest conversations you’ve ever had?

Well, my memory’s terrible, so I just asked @pilotpig, and she gave me an amazing conversation to share:

Me: Hey dude? What’s a strange conversation that I’ve had?

Piggie: *pauses* THIS! BLLLEEEEEEEGGGGHHHH!

5. Any inside jokes (not with me, just in general)?

Yes! I have a ton of inside jokes with @pilotpig! Here’s one example… “HELLOO! OOOOOO-OOOH YEAH YEAH YEAH, YEEEAAAAAAHHHHH!” lol that sounds completely stupid XD though...it is, so...lol idk

6. What quote do you say the most?

Um...maybe “Oh my...oh my...GOODNESS!!!!” —All Might from BNHA or “with the power of youth” —Lee and Gai from Naruto Tbh I don’t usually say quotes, so it’s mostly just stupid things lol

7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

The power to magically obtain any knowledge instantly so that studying would be super easy, and homework would be a breeze! ...I mean, it’d be helpful in pretty much any situation, so... lol

8. Favourite British drama, Korean drama and/or American drama?

I don’t really watch dramas, but I liked the Korean drama “I Hear Your Voice”!

9. Have you ever been in a situation that felt like you were in a movie?

Yes! So my friend and I had a bit of an argument. (She lied about her grades, and then my other friend and I were speculating whether or not she was lying, but not in a bad way of course...Cuz tbh lying about your grades is totally understandable lol is that bad?) But anyway, I apologized profusely because I really felt bad, and I shouldn’t have talked about her without her knowing, but she was still angry, and so, after class, I was chasing her through a sea of people, trying to talk to her, and make things right, but it was so hard to reach her because she was storming out, and actively trying to avoid me. I called out her name several times until finally I caught up to her, and told her what a great friend she was, and how I didn’t want that mistake to ruin our friendship. She didn’t really accept my apology, and held that against me for the rest of the year, but she eventually forgave me (I think?? yeah...we’re not so close anymore...).

10. Any funny things you did as a kid?

Hmmm, well as a kid, I loved Batman, and so I watched a lot of it. But then, in one episode, I heard the line “So long, suckers!” so I kept repeating that line, and my parents kept telling me not to say it because it was mean LOL (that was when I was 2 to 4 years old?? Idk i don’t really remember XD)

Getting over my wrist pain, and drawing freely! ^///^

hi pal! wow tumblr truly is the worst haha sorry you got so many duplicates last time. i'll probably sen you a bit of a longer one this time too to make up for being so MIA lately. we just finished finals week at my uni and i was so exhausted all this week. thank you so so much for understanding though im so soft :( i hope youve been doing well!! tell me all about what's new with you! angst and fluff is my fav. i honestly dont even know what my ideal design would be. i used to think maybe i(1/?)

would get my name in my mom's native language (thai) or maybe something floral? i never put much thought into it tho bc ive never had any intention of actually getting one haha. what about you? oh, writing with a friend is the best! def makes it so much more fun and keeps you on track. i love that! getting matched with your artist sounds SO exciting. and how fun will it be to see art for your fic baby soon! omg! yeah writing has really kept me here even when i would be busy/uninterested my all time fav fic ever is Just Me, You, and this Box of Matches. it's such a fun, fast-paced read. what are some of your faves? yeah teaching has been great but i was def nervous to start! im in my 2nd year of my phd rn. oh linguistics is awesome! i took a class in ling in undergrad and it was fascinating. do you know yet what your plans are for once you finish? i went straight into my phd without a gap.. i suspected (i think correctly) that if i took a gap or worked i wouldnt go back LOL for the holidays i'll just be going to visit my parents! usually we'd get the whole family together but covid, so it'll just be us. im still excited tho. plus it'll be a great break to just chill, write, and sleep ahaha! my lab is really great but i only joined it about 2 months before covid really hit so i think it would feel way more home-y if we were in person. hopefully someday soon we will be! saame haha im so introverted it has hardly changed much for me - just no more eating out lol louis' concert!!! aah its been so long since i last messaged you im so sorry! he was AMAZING though. his VOICE! esp having been around for so long, my heart was so full it was bursting. i missed seeing him more than i realized! i hope you had a really great week and now that im done with finals and grading i should be wayyy more active and chat with you so much more. thank you though for being so understanding and lovely! i'm so excited to get to know you more too. ily!! xx

i’m doing good, my parents actually joined me where i live a few days ago, so we’ve been catching up! and my sister should come here tomorrow as well, so i think it��s gonna be my turn to be a bit unavailable in the next few days, sorry in advance 😌 otherwise i’m almost done with TA-ing for this term, but i’m also preparing a talk that i’m gonna do in mid-january at an online conference, so that should keep me busy throughout the holidays!

i never heard of that fic, but i just checked the tags and it sounds so fun!! i’ll add it to my tbr, even though i’m hardly reading anything these days... i think one of my favourite fics is actually a zouis fic (i’m a sucker for this pairing 😌). it’s called About The Sea and is beautifully written, quite angsty as well!

yes, linguistics is pretty cool, it’s a very diverse field, and the perfect mix of science and humanities for me! but i’m not sure i want to stay in this field forever, tbh i’m kinda lost as to what to do afterwards, because i’m not sure academic research is really the way to go for me... what about you? are you planning on making a career in academia once you’re done with your phd? and do you have candidacy exams or something along the way? my ex-roommate was doing a phd in poli sci, and telling me about all she had to do, it sounded like A LOT :/

Mitsuki: It's a beach volleyball showdown!

Tsumugi: We plan to use scenes from all of you playing beach volleyball in the PV! Everyone, please enjoy yourselves with all you've got!

Tamaki: So that's why we had to wake up so early... To film it when no one's around......

Nagi: OH... I'm sleepy......

Riku: Beach volleyball! It's my first time playing! I'm so excited......

Iori: Nanase-san, you will be the referee.

Riku: Eh!?

Iori: Because you do not have enough stamina. You can't just run around under this blazing sun, can you?

Mitsuki: If you say it that way, isn't it better for Nagi to be the ref? Since he gets heatstroke so easily......

Nagi: OH! Today is fine! I want to play beach volleyball with everyone!

3. What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?

Probably this one, the Looking Glass/Feynites fandom. It’s definitely the most active I’ve ever been in one, and everyone so far has been so lovely and supportive of each other and it’s wonderful.

8. How did you get involved in your latest fandom?Oh man. I think I wanted to read more Modern AU Solavellan and I came across the HWRC story and devoured it, then went on to The Dread Wolfs Heart (Because it was completed already and I thought ‘oh by the time I get through this, HWRC will update!’ and it did, once.) and then I read through TDWH AUs (Specifically the porny ones tbh) and then I wanted to read more and found Feynites tumblr and quietly liked everything for a long long time until more info came out and quietly wrote private stories and drew pictures of Selene and Thenvunin (Don’t judge me, first draft Selene was very different from who she is now and Sharkbait wasn’t a thing yet) because he was my favorite, and then Dirthamen popped up and I rambled in tags about Selene being a good match for him and then Fey messaged me like 'hey tell me more about Selene because Dirthamen deserves good things’ and I made a little list and then I wrote a backstory (that I think Fey is still the only person to have read, whoops) and now it’s taken over my life and it’s great.

9. What are the best things about your current fandom?Pretty much everyone is supportive of each other and it’s nice to have a fandom where when people do try to start drama everyone sort of collectively publicly ignores it and creates more positivity instead of feeding into it.

12. Who is your current OT3?

Deceit/Selene/Dirthamen, But Steve/Darcy/Bucky from the marvel fandom is pretty high up there too.

14. Go on, who are your BroTPs?Aelynthi/Thenvunin, Selanna, Selene/Adannar, uhhhh…there are a lot, tbh. Like a LOT.

15. Is there an obscure ship which you love?(Does Dirthalene or Desashim count?) I quietly but intensely ship Haninan and Hildur in LG, and also Aili Lavellan and Uthvir in all of their various AUs.

18. What ship have you written the most about?Dirthalene hands down. I’m almost at 1000 posts on this blog that’s almost entirely dedicated to them and I’m just stunned I was even capable of producing anything. For a really long time I left things very private or just in my head because I didn’t think anyone would be interested.

19. Is there a ship which you wished you could get behind, but you just don’t feel them?Not really? I’m pretty open to most ships, so long as you can show it’s a healthy relationship.

20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?Desashim wasn’t supposed to happen, but here I am with headcanons and storylines in my head for them.

22. Is there anything you regret writing?Ehh….I don’t love Mermaid AU. I mean I do, and I liked what it was in my head but I can’t even look at the writing anymore tbh. I don’t regret it per se, because it started a lot of people talking and interacting with it, which is why I won’t pull it down. It’s still something I’d like to redo once my writing skills improve, but I just don’t think I got across what I wanted to with it.

23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.I really like the reincarnation AU. It’s one of my favorites. I like having a Selene whose gotten past a lot of her personal issues and can work with Des rather than against him, and I like that it’s got a lot of fluff and a lot of potential for fluff and porn and I can usually reread my own bits for it without feeling embarrassed about the quality of it.

26. How do you come up with your fanfic titles?Usually I like alliteration or a quote or something relating to the overall theme of the piece. Or a pun. I like puns.

27. What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?Summaries. There is a reason I don’t really have any summaries, but I still occasionally title.

30. What inspires you to write?Other people’s writings or art, usually. A tag or something I was tagged in, or someone else posting something and my mind going 'OH OH OH AND WHAT IF THEN-’ and so on.

37. First person or third person - what do you write in and why?

Third person usually. It’s just what I usually read and think in, so that’s what I tend to write.

38. Do you use established canon characters or do you create Ocs?OCs (with permission) are more fun, and less likely to spark arguments in my experience.

46. If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?This would depend a whole lot on what they were looking for, to be honest.

49. Do you care if people comment/reblog your writing? Why/why not?Yes, because I thrive on attention and compliments, they make me feel warm and fuzzy and I like knowing that the work and effort that goes into things means something to someone.

50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?I got my own computer at the age of 7, and didn’t have an allowance or income so I splurged by reading whatever I could find for free.

51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!I love that people can explore tropes and characters outside of what’s considered the social norm, I love that even if Tony and Bruce are never going to have another on-screen moment together in the MCU, I can hop onto AO3 and find several hundred stories about them getting happily ever afters, or about Tony getting the mental health and support he needs, or that if something terrible happens in canon there will be plenty of other 'canon-divergent’ stories that go AHAHA NOPE, and I love that it’s created this atmosphere where characters in the public eye can become more well-rounded and explored outside of time or budget constraints just because people want them to and I think that sense of creativity and creation and community is wonderful.

Travel-anon-hi! Good luck with your midterms and projects! Know you'll do great on them :D You'll get to be a weekend potato again soon, and better, a summer (baked) potato! Oo, road trips aren't a thing I've done with my friends actually (or on my own), but maybe I should try it since you said it's fun~ True, it's a little worrying on safety if you're going alone (+ rooming fees are scary as 1 person). I tend to keep to messaging people back home when I go alone, just so they know I'm ok (1/?)

(2/?) Korean fried chicken is so good there, and the prices are so cheap! I had a giant table-sized platter at a place in Hongdae before, and it was less than $7 aslviaijds it fed 3 people in one go. Cafe culture game is strongest out of all the Asian countries I’ve been to though! A lot of them are cute/indie/niche, which is really cool compared to all the franchised ones we have, yeah :/ I stray towards chai lattes and sesame drinks a lot at cafes c: or hot ciders! I try a lot of things tho!

(3/?) asjkla don’t get me started on sweets, haha. I plow through those like nobody’s business! You mentioned you don’t like coffee and sweets, but would you try anything else besides the matcha? It was a dream! A very furry dream. I’m not joking, I came outta there covered in fur all over (rip my black clothes), but I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Those dogs were so cute 💖 There’s a lot of dog and cat cafes in Japan too! Would you stop by one while you’re in Japan? I saw some in Harajuku~

Humidity is why I normally travel during fall/winter, haha! Humidity won’t kick my butt then, and leggings & sweater wear retains it’s place as my go to fashion too! Lowkey amused that we have that in common too~

(5/?) Wow! You visited a lot!! The Palace of Versailles was my favourite out of the ones you listed! Which one’s yours? All of it’s sooo pretty! Switzerland is super scenic and green, from what I remember - very different from most of the other European cities. Oo, Vietnam sounds so nice! I’m looking forward to hearing about your travels there! Haha, that sounds like my friends and I in Japan once. We kept getting plushies from a crane game, and trolled our bystanders into thinking it was easy!

(6/?) I always come back with a pile of plushies and snacks (little anything else); usually sneak the food through customs too ;u;~ Japanese snack-wise, I actually like kitkat, haha! They have so many different flavours there!! I prefer eating street food moreso there, there’s a lot of variety, but dango has my heart and soul. So sad I don’t have it here. Are there any foods you’re looking forward to from Japan that you’ve heard about and want to try :D? Festivals have a lot to offer!

(7/7) Yup! Japan Rail Pass is where I got it! You can pick it up in the airport, and return it using the mailbox there too c: Aw, would you go back to Japan sometime after this trip? A week isn’t really long, but you can definitely make the most of it with everything you’ll see and photo! Have lots of fun there 💖! Gonna try a new manufacturer~ I got spoiled on twt for the movie, cuz people didn’t tag cry D: you can still do those while studying too tho ;D good luck! Wow these are getting long

hello, m’love! and thank you!! i finished my econ project today and took my marketing midterm, so fingers crossed, everything goes well :D omg i can’t wait to be a weekend potato again and yess, only one more month to go before it’s summer :’) ahhh yes, they’re quite fun! it’s nice to blast music and sing along as you eat yummy snacks and drive to the beach. i hope you get to go on a road trip sometime! the fees are pretty daunting, and omg yes that’s a good idea to keep texting people. my roommate and i do that all the time whenever either of us are out late and we have to walk back to our dorm.

oh my gosh, $7 only?? why can’t food be this cheap and good here ): i have to definitely go to korea for all the food and cute cafes. ahhh omg they sound so lovely, like i would most definitely visit as many as possible. oooh, i’ve had a chai latte, but i’ve never had a sesame drink before! what is it like? and omg like apple cider? apple cider is always nice. i’d try all the drinks if possible ahah

honestly, i’ll try everything when i’m in a different country, like i had so much gelato in italy and crepes and macarons in paris. i really like red bean buns, too, so i want to try those fish pastries filled with red bean in korea? i don’t remember what they’re called, but to be honest, asian street food and asian pastries all looks so good i can’t help but try it all. oh my gosh, i feel like i’ll be the same way if i go to a dog cafe because all i wear is black and dark colored clothes too, but dogs are always worth it :’) and omg yes!!! i’ll have to visit at least one dog cafe in japan and i also want to try one of those japanese jiggly cheesecakes!! everything in japan is so aesthetically pleasing.

oooh okay, no worries!! but askdjlfasdf feeling intimidated– i hope i’m not being scary to you D: please let me know if you ever feel uncomfortable with our conversations! nevertheless, i’m 100% sure you’re a super talented artist 💓 i wish i could travel in the fall and winter, but sadly, university gets in the way and i can’t miss class. and omg leggings and sweaters are the best fashion!! it’s versatile like a potato, and it’s always comfy. i practically wear my leggings everyday of the week.

the palace of versailles was breath taking with the intricate designs and everything, but i’d have to say the art museums hold a special place in my heart. i could spend all day wandering through the museums and reading up on every art piece. i saw quite a few art students scattered around with their big pads of drawing paper and drawing some of the paintings, and wow, i wish i had the chance to do that, like imagine living so close to these museums that you can visit everyday and draw something new.

oooh, i think switzerland was also named the place with the happiest people, too? and me, too!! i’m so excited for vietnam, oh my goodness. ahhh omg teach me your ways with the crane machine :o i hope that i’ll be able to get one plushie from it without blowing all my money. hmmm, maybe i’ll just come to japan with an empty suitcase and fill it up with all the plushies and snacks there. omg yes, i’ve heard of all the variety of kitkat flavors they have there! i actually just got a bag of green tea kit kats from my friend, and i don’t even enjoy sweets too much, but they’re heavenly.

oooh yes, i’m looking forward to all the street food. i had dango before here, but it probably isn’t as good as the ones made in japan ashkdflas ahhh i want to try everything tbh! but i saw there was this restaurant where you can actually go fishing for your fish and then they’ll make sashimi out of it for you, and that sounds amazing. and i really want to have takoyaki and okonomiyaki and udon and ramen and soba and gosh, just everything. i really, really want to visit japan one day during its cherry blossom season with all the festivities. were you able to visit japan when it was cherry blossom season? :D

oh wow, that service is really handy and convenient! i’ll make sure to preorder one for sure. i do want to go back to japan again!! i want to explore more of its beautiful cities and experience the festivals. hopefully, i’ll be rich enough to do that in the future :’) but yes to tons of picture taking, and thank you!! 💞💞 i hope the new manufacturer works out! fingers crossed!! and oh noooo D: gosh that really sucks– i hope you still have a good time watching it with your friends though ): ahaha well yes, i can, but i probably shouldn’t if i want to effectively study, and thank you!! ahhh and thank you for taking the time to send me such lovely messages! you really make my day with them 💘 and how was your day?
