masterlist characters: freminet, lyney, lynette (all platonic) genre: angst contains: spoilers for chapter iv - act i: "prelude of blancheur and noirceur", short fic compared to rest of mine ;-; , mentions of sickness/vomiting summary: the call of the ocean is much more sickening than you remember. notes: omg the rare pompk genshin writing. anyway, the siblings have captured my heart since they came out and I'm only slightly peeved i got zhongli on like 20 pulls to get freminet BUT-- might make this a series? thought of calling it "siblings of the hearth" but idk. ++finished this before i finished lyney's story quest and uhhh rainbow roses is all i have to say :]

you and freminet were practically inseparable. much like lyney and lynette, you and freminet made up the second duo in your adoptive family. the two of you were alike in many ways, from your introverted self-doubt to the love of fairytales.

the one thing that separated you two was your opinions on diving. as much as you wanted to love the ocean again, you couldn't bring yourself to. you cherished the sea when freminet first brought you there, pointing out to the endless blue water that sparkled under the sun. he took you by the end, a much more gentle touch than your mother had the day she dropped the two of you off, before diving down.

he held your hand the entire time the two of you swam, tightening when an angelic sea hare blew past you in the water or when a particularly strong current threatened to pull you two apart.

that day, you saw your brother's bright smile again. the last time you saw that was the day before your mother dropped you two off at the orphanage. and when freminet smiled, the brightest one you had seen in ages, you smiled back.

the next day, you learned you also had a strange affinity for the sea like your brother. the two of you knew the ocean like the back of your hands. and so, when you started feeling sick after every diving escapade, you got worried.

despite the worry, the bubbling in your stomach, and the nausea that filled your system, you told no one. you went on with your life, slowly pulling back from the water. pulling back from the diving days.

pulling back from freminet.

every time he came back from a dive, you felt sick. it had to be the water clinging onto his suit and thus, you often locked yourself away in the workshop knowing freminet wouldn't go in lest he damage the trinkets he was working on.

the first two weeks of avoidance were relatively easy. but on the dawn of the third week, you couldn't stand it. those teary eyes freminet stared at you with upon refusing another diving escape broke your heart, shattering it as if you and freminet had used your compatible visions to cast freeze on a small puddle of water.

"...okay," was all freminet whispered after your refusal, slinking off to grab his diving gear. the second that door closed behind him, you collapsed to your knees, tears streaming down your face as you silently cried.

"(name)? what's wrong?" and not even a minute passed before you heard lyney behind you. he rushed over and kneeled beside you, joined only a second later by lynette who kneeled on the other side.

lynette placed a hand delicately on your back while lyney took your hands in his, squeezing your cold hands with his warm palms.

"what happened? why are you crying?" lyney asked again, waiting patiently for your tears to cease.

"...nothing," you managed to hiccup, shaking your head. "just... it's nothing, i promise..."

and you knew that lie wouldn't pass. both lyney and lynette, despite being adopted, knew you as if you were their own blood relative. they cared deeply for you and freminet and nothing would escape their sharp eyes.

"...then, how about we have some tea and snacks?" lynette proposes, pulling you up to your feet.

"i think that's a wonderful idea," lyney chimes in, his eyes still lingering on you in worry. you merely nod in response, doing your best to wipe your tears away with your sleeve.

maybe it'd be best if you got to the bottom of your sickness...

in the early morning hours, before the sun even peeked over the horizon, you were up and at your old diving spot. one single smell of the sea made you sick to your stomach. it took every ounce of your strength not to vomit right then and there.

despite the sickness, you reached down towards the water. and the second your fingertips broke the surface--

"ow--!" you yelped in pain, the soft sound of sizzling emitting from your skin. you stared at your shaky hand, the very tips of your fingers turning to water.

drip

three droplets of water fell from your fingertip, landing on the pier with a sound that roared in your ears.

in the end, the people will all be dissolved into the waters, and only the hydro archon will remain...

"the prophecy..." those words escaped your lips without a second thought. you scrambled away from the dock, staring wide-eyed out at the never-ending sea.

and all you could think of was the moment your body would join it.

just wanted to say that some months ago i went on a bit of a "mental illness tangent" and wrote down every single native species to my county, including its light and water needs. may or may not have been spurred on by some topic you mentioned...

one side effect i learned with that is that apparently i live in like. the ONE area of the us that doesn't really use fire much as a part of it's ecosystem, once you're inland beyond the pine barrens on the coast, obvs. kinda funny idk. like you have a whole continent that has large fire use in varying ways, and then in little old new england in the old mountains where apparently fire has not been present in 8000 years from research from sediments.

hi! just want you to know that this is both academic and political direct action in my mind and i think every community should have at least one person who knows what local Guys are supposed to be there and what they need.

next step would be to go see which ones you can actually find in remnant forests and stuff. if any dudes are missing it's an active cause for concern and you can start the process of finding Whoever In Local Government Is In Charge Of That, and you would be surprised to know that usually there is at least one person who's like, kind of supposed to be in charge of it but nobody pays attention to plants so it slipped under the radar, etc. or if you want to do more research first or want to know where to look you can go try to see when it was last actually spotted, because from my experience a lot of old sources from like, 1802 just get grandfathered in to modern records and you realize nobody's actually checked to see if these things are still there lately.

to check your own work against, plants.usda.gov has an online database that in theory is an up-to-date record of all plants in every state in the country-- notice that i say every state, because not all states specify sightings or populations by county, which is unhelpful for actually going out and seeing them near you. on a state-by-state basis, some states have their own databases which narrow it down to county, and then from there you can see which sources they cite and check to see how old they are. note that the usda cites the flora of north america as their primary source for the species ive personally come across, which is good because the flora of north america is crowd-funded, organized, written, and published by actual academics in the botanical community who go searching for these things and they have names and email addresses you can use to contact them, plus the completed families are free to access online on their website. because of the amount of people retiring with no replacement, however, it's still good to follow up.

im...nebulous on my understanding of who is supposed to be checking up on these guys in the government. either the USDA or the fish and wildlife service is the arm that's supposed to be regulating plants listed as endangered in your area, or at least enforcing poaching laws, and if it's something high profile they probably do, but then you look at the endangered species list in your state and see a guy you know hasn't been seen in quite some time and you have to wonder where they're getting their data, if they're doing their own internal surveys, if you can even access that kind of information because of the need to be careful around disclosing the locations of endangered plants, if this local Guy has actually genuinely slipped through the cracks of bureaucracy and has lost whatever fractionally small area of land it used to have in your county/surrounding county/state, if anybody is even paying attention, etc. it seems like your best bet comes down to contacting the one other person whos super into them

and then you go on inaturalist to see if anyone else has seen it and nobody has and anyway thats how you go insane

The Night From Hell (Little Duck au🐣)

pairing: Chris Evans x Female Reader (Momma Evans) x Arlie Mae

summary: Chris never in a million years thought he’d get a phone call like the one he got as he sat down to feel Wesley, and his whole world shattered…

warnings: angst angst angst, injuries more on momma than arlie, mentions of drunk driving, medical terminology, a bit of comfort and fluff

a/n: idk why i’ve been hooked on this idea, but here it is, angst filled teehee, don’t worry i’ll give the family a break for a while after this and only write fluff but for now, enjoy 🫶🏻

The loud ringing in your ears seemed to get louder and louder the more aware and awake you’d become, still strapped in the driver’s seat, your neck stinging painfully, and judging by the seatbelts tight hold on you, it had burned your neck. You knew for certain you had blacked out, but for how long? That was still undetermined. Everything ached, your ribs, back, not to mention your head which had started to pound repeatedly, but what snapped you out of your haze were Arlie’s cries from the backseat

“M-Momma!”

“I’m here baby…I’m gonna get you out my love, are you hurt?”

“Y-yes, owie momma”

Biting your lip to keep from crying out yourself, you unstrapped the seatbelt, sirens now filling the space around you as you managed to get out and limp over to open the back door. When you got it open, Arlie reached for you, eyes bloodshot, but thankfully she looked okay, a few scratches on her arms and cheek from broken glass

“Momma you bleeding”

“I-I know my love, I’m okay, we’re okay though”

You pulled her into your arms before sitting on the asphalt against the back tire, if there was anything you were thankful for right now it was for Volvo and how amazing the cars they made were, all you could see was a mangled mess of metal from the other car that hit you, but yours, albeit messed up, still looked somewhat decent

“Want daddy, I want daddy momma!”

An ambulance, followed by fire and police showed up, paramedics getting out and jogging in your direction, but you could feel yourself fading slowly

“D-Daddy will be here soon baby..p-promise..”

“Momma? Momma!!”

You had tried to fight the feeling you’d been getting while sitting against your car with Arlie holding onto you, but her voice was the last thing you’d heard before passing out, and it looked like you weren’t going to be waking up

Arlie was crying and shaking your arm trying to get you up, she was frantic and at only 4 years old she didn’t know what to do, she was terrified as she watched you fall and hit the pavement, her screams causing two paramedics to run over

“Hi honey, hey little one, can you tell me your name sweetie?”

Arlie looked towards the young medic who crouched down to her while her partner rushed to your side to make sure you were breathing

“Help Momma pwease!”

“Alright honey, we’re gonna help your mommy, but can you tell me your name...?”

“A-Arlie”

The medic smiled

“Hi Arlie, I’m Jess, it’s nice to meet you”

Jess paused before a few other people came to get you situated on a stretcher, which only caused more panic to build in little Arlie’s chest

“Arlie, we are going to ride with your mom in the ambulance, okay? We’re going to check out your little cuts and get them nice and clean, okay?”

Jess held her arms out slowly and Arlie was quick to enter her embrace so she could pick Arlie up and walk with her behind the stretcher

“Want my daddy”

“We can call him when we get inside okay?”

Arlie nodded and they both got into the back of the ambulance and watched as you were hooked up to a few monitors and had begun to get IVs placed along your arms all while Arlie had to watch you lay silent, and that is what scared her the most, she’d never seen her momma like this at all…she was too quiet…way too quiet

Chris had just put Wesley down for bed when his phone went off again, ringing from the countertop in the kitchen downstairs, he’d heard it go off once a few minutes ago, and couldn’t get too it, so he jogged down the stairs, turning the phone to see an unknown number

“Hello?”

“Hi is this Mr. Evans?”

Chris had started to feel anxious before he’d picked up the phone but now that feeling started to rise

“Yes, this is him, can I ask who’s calling?”

“This is Jess McNeil, I’m a paramedic with the Newton County fire department, I’m a paramedic, there’s been an accident involving your wife and daughter”

There is no singular word or feeling to describe just how Chris felt in this moment, the sheer panic as he moved over to open his laptop, sending his mother a series of texts, the urgency in them telling her to come to the house as soon as possible. If Chris ended up going into Boston tonight, he didn’t want Wesley to be in a hospital around sick people, nor did he think he could hold it together enough for his son

“I-Wait how’d this happen, are they alright? Where are you headed, are they hurt bad...?”

“Mr. Evans, I assure you we are doing everything we possibly can for your wife right now, I can’t discuss all the details over the phone, but she is in critical condition as we speak, we are heading towards Massachusetts General Hospital, your daughter is fine, minor injuries”

Chris went to ask another question or try to get any more information on your condition when he heard his sweet little girl’s voice come through the speaker

“Daddy, you there daddy?”

He sniffled quietly, his emotions no longer being held back

“I’m here baby, I’m here Arlie, are you okay duck?”

“I scared daddy, can you come get me and momma pwease…don’t wike it here…too loud”

The fear in her voice and slight tremble in speech making his heart clench tighter in his chest

“I’m going to come see you and momma right now, you’ll be okay baby I promise, you stay with Jess until I get there, okay? I promise, I love you so much Arlie Mae”

“I love you daddy”

For the next couple minutes while Chris gathered a bag with clothes and pyjamas for himself, Arlie and you, they’d stayed on the phone until his mother arrived at the house, only then did Chris hang up and make his way into Wesley’s room to kiss his forehead whispering a quiet ‘I love you so much’ before going down to explain everything to Lisa and the night his little family was in for

Chris had never driven into Boston as fast as he did tonight, his car screeching into the parking lot at Mass Gen as he slid it into park, the emergency room lights casting a hue amidst the puddles of rain in the parking lot. He’d slung the bag of clothes over his shoulder before jogging to the entrance, it didn’t take him long to find Arlie first who was sitting with Jess playing with a puzzle and some blocks

“Oh, thank god…”

Arlie turned and jumped up instantly taking off towards Chris

“Daddy!”

“Hi baby, oh god, thank you god…you’re okay baby”

He took her into his arms instantly as she clung to him, Chris never wanted to let her go, but pulled back after a few minutes to inspect her cheek were a band aid lay, covering one of the bigger cuts

“I’m so happy you’re okay Arlie, I was so worried”

Chris pressed a few kisses to her forehead before turning to smile at Jess who’d made her way over to say goodbye as her team was going back out

“Thank you so much, for looking after my girls…I can’t thank you enough”

Jess smiled and nodded

“Of course, Arlie is a great storyteller, and if it’s any ease to your mind, your wife was awake when we arrived, I’m sure they’ll have a room for her soon”

Chris nodded and sent her a small smile, thanking her once again before he and Arlie chose an uncrowded corner to sit in, letting her change into some pyjamas before she curled up next to Chris, opting to watch a show quietly on his phone while they both waited for any news on your condition, right now it felt like they’d be waiting all night.

You were more than aware of the situation you were in, the hospital bed far less comfortable than your own, the steady beeping from the monitor attached to your heart, the drip of the iv’s every few seconds, you felt like shit, there was no sugar coating that at all. Thankfully you didn’t end up needing surgery at all, and you’d been getting settled into this room when a knock at the door paused your movements to get comfortable

“Mrs. Evans, I have some guests here to see you, they’ve been waiting very patiently”

You knew immediately who it was and nodded, still not trusting of your voice just yet. A tired smile on your face when the door opened further and Arlie stood there with Chris, her little eyes lighting up instantly

“Momma!!”

She ran to you, and you could already feel the tears spill gently down your cheeks, everything was so overwhelming

“H-Hi my baby”

Chris came over shortly after, tears in his eyes as well

“Arlie, remember, gentle with Momma for the next while okay?”

She turned and nodded at her dad before holding your hand gently, Chris moving to the other side to lean down and press a kiss to your forehead

“Hi handsome, sorry for the little scare”

He couldn’t help the quiet laugh that escaped him, knowing you were trying to bring some slight humour to the situation, it was too hard to look at this any differently. Arlie had managed to climb into the bed beside you, laying her head on your shoulder gently, just wanting to be close to you

“Momma, can we go home pwease?”

“Well, my love, I can’t go home just yet, I’ve got some pretty big owies I need looked at, but you and daddy can go home anytime”

You could see Chris tense slightly out of the corner of your eye, you knew he wouldn’t want to leave, but what you didn’t expect was Arlie to shake her head, and hold the hospital gown you had on tighter in her hands, a soft yawn spilling out

“I stay if momma stays…”

You smiled watching her closer her eyes as her voice trailed off, this was the last place you’d ever thought the two of you would end up, but you were more than grateful you’d gotten the worst of it, you didn’t know what you would have done if this was Arlie in your place instead of you

“The uh doctor, told me all your injuries, but said we should be able to leave in a few days...”

“Chris?”

He looked at you, the anxiety swimming behind his tired eyes, you could see right through him every time, but this was the first time you’d ever seen him this scared

“I’m okay baby, I know you’re scared, and anxious…I want to let you feel those feelings, but I’m right here, I’m okay, Arlie is okay”

He nodded leaning his head on your thigh as he gripped your hand gently, squeezing it to find more comfort

“I thought I lost you both…and-and then when the medic told me you were in critical condition, I thought I was l-losing you Y/N…god when I got that call…my ma is home with Wes, I drove straight here”

“I can only imagine how that felt, truth be told I really don’t remember much other than getting Arlie out of the car…god that car saved our lives Chris”

Chris pulled his head back to look at you once again, just taking everything in, almost as if you’d disappear, and you almost had tonight

“I love you, and I love Arlie so fucking much I need you to know that, and I need you to know I’ll make sure you both get better, and get any help you need, no matter what it takes”

Bringing a hand up to cup his cheek softly you nodded, no words needed to be exchanged as Chris leaned into your touch, feeling grateful that soon he’d be able to take his two favourite girls home. He never ever wanted to feel what he had tonight, and how he felt when he got that call, so as he watched his wife and daughter sleep, he called Lisa to fill her in, and let her know everything would be okay, he’d make sure of it.

@asleepyy so sorry for tagging u twice in one day and i hope im not bothering u with my brain rot 😅

but yes, i did actually dissect the lyrics. yes, i am actually insane. and yes, i love this au quite a lot.

here are my notes and what i think each song represents, tho its mainly just the vibes i get. i made notes as i listened to them (note: i see songs almost always in animatic form. idk if that will effect how i imagine what each song means, but i thought it might be worth mentioning)

say what you think: def making me think of them both in heaven and jophiel wanting to ask questions.

running up that hill: AHH this one hurt. very obvious as well. jophiel seeing that azazel shouldnt be a demon. "And if I only could I'd make a deal with God, and I'd get Him to swap our places." i am sobbingggg

what difference does it make?: at first i was going to say its jophiel wanting to figure out what went wrong but azazel makes them promise not to, but i think its better suited for azazel understanding hes a demon, but he cant help but still have faith in the almighty

please please please let me get what i want: fuckkk is this about azazel being a demon but still wanting to do good 😭 short but still painful

ever fallen in love (with someone you shouldn't've): my first reaction to the title alone was like the second image of the kambucha girl meme. anyway i think this one is about them becoming friends (or more?? 👀) but knowing its seen as wrong. "And if I start a commotion, I run the risk of losing you and that's worse" makes me also think of jophiel talking to the metatron and realizing he shouldnt ask about azazel lest he risk the poor thing being smited.

nothing critical: ohhhh this one gives hella vibes of jophiel not trusting heaven and knowing "something isnt right here" in regards to the fall-- HOLD UP "I know, someone had to go, If not him it'd be me instead" HELLO??? aziraphale asking for jophiel??? is this like after he finds out what azazels name used to be??

flowers never bend with the rainfall: hmm... i feel like this is a plot point song. not sure why. but "And I hide behind the shield of my illusion" makes me think it pertains to azazel

bird in space: oh this ones a bit tricky. i think ive reached the songs that no longer fit the lore we've been given thus far. so the only thing i can think rn is jophiel enjoying earthly pleasures? not rlly sure

angel, won't you call me?: oh fuckkk is this about a fight they have? "I fled at the face of my rival. When I felt his breath at the back of my neck. Angel, won't you call?" theres no way that isnt about azazel saying smth and then leaving, only to be scared he severed his tie to the only person thats been nice to him.

the stranger: first of this is a bop and im loving it. very groovy. the first thing that comes to mind is the "choose your faces wisely" prophecy. ooo is this about jophiel trying to convince azazel hes still meant to be an angel? that he wasnt meant to fall? also, the last verse is sticking out to me... not sure why

all i think about now: fuckkkkk this is giving me the vibes of jophiel finding out azazel Fell cuz of him and feeling guilty about it. "If I'm late, can I thank you now?" FUCKING OW?? oh yeah for sure this is about jophiel finding out and being sucker punched with guilt

ill be your mirror: oh goddd this song. i know crowley listens to this song but i cant remember what its about so lets see. AH SHIT YEAH THATS RIGHT. okay so jophiel reminds azazel that he is inherently good, regardless of if hes a demon. thats what im getting from this (also just tihnking of that ask i sent about the reflective sunglasses bthwjegkrw)

me and my husband: okay all im getting from this is "they r down bad". they r very very very much in love. getting vibes of this being after they stop the apocolypse. or maybe their feelings developing thru the centuries

time in a bottle: oh man this song always gets me. okay so, this and the last song r giving the oh-shit-i-might-be-in-love vibes. but this one is with jophiel's pov, while me and my husband is azazel's

"Hail to the Heavenly Teacher." okay so i assume this is an azazel song. this is just making me think of the bookshop fire, but its azazel thinking jophiel died 😭 ....i am staring at the lyircs. i am glaring at the lyrics. this song MEANS something. i just dont know what. but its important. im squinting at it very hard (note: i came back to this song and am STILL glaring at it. its like. its like im seeing it covered in sand but i know theres gold underneath. i cant SEE the gold, but i know its there. this is driving me nuts /pos)

what do they know?: holy shit okay this is a completely different kind of song than the others. im.... glaring at these lyrics too. feels like a plot point but cant tell what it is. i think its about jophiel? maybe heaven too?? idk im grasping at straws with this one

sea of love: oh yay a happy song again 😌 okay this is just short and sweet. gives me forgiveness and/or confession vibes.

who are you, really?: this one sounds important and i am glaring!! makes me think of "we dont need heaven we dont need hell" and also "a demon/angel that goes along with hell/heaven as far as he can". also just makes me think of jophiel speaking.

the moon will sing: i fucking love this song but i dont think ive ever looked at the lyrics so lets goooo. right away i see "I could have been anyone, anyone else. Before you made the choice for me" and think of aziraphale asking and falling for jophiel, and in a way making the choice of jophiel staying an angel. "Instead, I made a bed with apathy" jophiel trying not to care about a random demon. "I shine only with the light you gave me" jophiel giving azazel ideas on how to do "good" while being "bad". also with that line, thinking of azazel saying that to god and being sad about having fallen AUGHH i have a whole animatic in my head with this song and im losing my mind

matephor: hnnnn another important sounding song. jophiel vibes. fight song perhaps?? "Don't look too hard 'cause you won't like the scars he left in me" azazel vibes??? this one is elusive to me but i love it. okay im slowly getting more azazel vibes. like azazel trying to convince jophiel that he is a demon and fell for a reason

providence: right away getting "heaven and hell r bad" vibes. OHH okay okay this is giving me hella jophiel vibes, but specificly snarky and sassy jophiel vibes. of being like "oh yes heaven is oh so great, we kill children! but its for the greater good, of course. gotta beat hell and all that, even at the cost of innocents. all for the almighty and her ineffable plan." (this song is a bop omg)

earth angel: oh i know this one but only with crowley and aziraphale, so im excited to listen to it with an oopsie omens mind set. omg wait why does it hit HARDER. love sick azazel is such a cute image 🥺🥰

what more can i do: hmm.. them being in love but knowing its "forbidden"? cant tell who i imagine with it more

What the fuck IS with all the hate for matt? I don't get it, he's a perfectly serviceable dm. Is there context that I'm missing or is it just that he's not their fav? I've seen some similar tribalism from WBN fans toward Murph and NADDPOD. Why are people so animalistic about their favourite adults who play pretend professionally?

I first heard about it when the last season of d20 was announced (the ravening war) and matt was dming it. There was some twitter drama w a couple d20 fans who are specifically acoc fans that were worried that matt was going to ruin / not live up to the fan lore that their community had already created. It got taken out of context and it got rowdy from both sides and honestly like just got too far with people censoring matts name, bringing up his vest thing (he has said in an interview in the past that he struggles with body dysmorphia and his vests makes him feel more comfortable in his own skin)

Idk! The most legitimate reason ive found is issues with his world building when they did an arc in a south/southeast asian inspired setting, but as far as i know he did hire cultural consultants i think after that was brought up? Idk its hazy for me because it was so long ago if anyone knows the details of that lmk

The handful of bullshit reasons ive heard is he follows the rules too much/doesnt follow the rules enough, isnt funny, a boring storyteller, etc. Whenever they say i like brennan more than matt they usually talk more about how they dislike matt and less about what they think makes brennan good. Also fucking funny because none of these people are even beefing. Matt was literally JUST in Brennan's wedding!!! And so was Murph!!!! And like matt or not, hes the very reason why d20 even gets to exist and be successful because critical role opened the door for ttrpgs in mainstream media. Yeah. Its crazy how toxic fandoms can be

first thing that comes to mind thats plot-related n not character-related is prentice. he was exiled 12 years ago, same age as sophie. its so obviously not a coincidence. tho i wonder whats up w him n tiergan (idk how to spell lmao i feel like thats wrong)

also, i wonder just how strong sophie is. like, the way she knocked fitz into the wall ??? thats her not knowing the full extent of her powers. i have a feeling shes always gonna be one of those main characters whos extremely powerful but constantly throughout the series she finds new abilities she has. kinda like percy jackson

im also realizing how stupid ill seem if im just overanalysing everything and my guesses are too far-fetched or too deeply thought out to really mean anything lololol

moving to character-related, i adore dex. he seems kinda spiteful tho ??? esp towards fitz. thats prolly bc the vacker family is apparently rlly famous n shit n meanwhile dexs parents were a bad match. still dont rlly get what that means. i feel like theres more to him. also his crush on sophie is adorable

stina is a bitch. nothing else to say, except that she looks terrifyingly like me? except different eye color n i wear glasses loll. i hope to see some character development cause i personally hate the trope of "token mean girl" in books (like drew tanaka or zoya nazyalensky) cause theyre so one dimensional n boring (although zoya does become majorly more likeable throughout the grishaverse books, im hoping to see the same in stina)

irrelevant but the amount of times sophie is ending up in the infirmary reminds me of a roleplay w my friends from like three years ago oml the nostalgia (cause there would at all times be at least one character in the infirmary injured or nearly dead bc we needed that drama to keep the rp going LMAO)

overall, theres not as much to say as there was at the 25% mark. (i feel like theres more i wanna say but i cant think of anything.) prolly cause since then, the book has mainly been abt learning abt the elves' world n culture. i think by the 75% point im gonna have a lot more to say, n then ill post the final update thingie when im 100% done w the book

ill be 75% done in 89 pages, but the last day of midterm is tomorrow, so god knows how long thatll take me :') i promise to try thooo

Theres a mummy which i was told is sukuna’s own mummified body but its actually not confirmed??? If anything last chapter it looked more like tengen then sukuna

Sukuna says “did kenjaku… or rather tengen… do this ironically?” what does this mean. This sounds like tengen and kjk are like the same being under different names (???) or maybe that one of them was the one who wanted to make the mummy and asked the other to do the work for them??? Idk
