“This time,” said the team leader, Lee Tae Joon, looking at each member of his team at the briefing table, “we’re going to be a little more spread out than usual.”
Their new target’s name was Kim Dae Kyung. How the team had found him was a little bit different story than most of their cons.
A few days ago Tae Joon ran into his old classmate, a woman named Hye Soo. He remembered her as a wonderful, kind girl, and as an adult she hadn't changed. But one look at her and he could tell that she was not doing great.
“Let's find somewhere to sit down, and you can tell me everything,” he said. Tae Joon decided then and there he was going to do everything he could to help this woman.
They settled in a random little cafe, and Hye Soo shared her story.
Just a week ago she had everything. She was to marry a nice guy from whom she was having a baby, and just the mention of a baby touched Tae Joon’s heart, since he used to be a parent himself. But it turned out, that guy was only after her money. He stole everything from her, even her home.
“He gave me a week to find a new place to live,” she said, “and it's already up. Now I don't have anywhere to go!”
Tae Joon put a hand on her shoulder, but before he could say anything, she continued:
“But it's only a half of the story. As I was searching for a new house, I found this guy,” and at this point Tae Joon already could piece together the rest of the story, but he still let Hye Soo continue. “He had a small company with a few employees. He said they helped families in crisis. He promised new housing cheap and quick. I should've known it was too good to be true... But I was desperate. And he even showed me the apartment, and the documents, and everything, so I thought it might be safe.”
“He conned you.”
Hye Soo nodded, defeated. “When I went to the new apartment the next day, there were people living there. And they said they hadn't heard anything about it being sold to anyone, and even promised to call the police if I didn't leave.”
She then went quiet, and Tae Joon spoke with confidence.
“It’s settled then. We’re going to help you.”
“We?”
Tae Joon smirked. “I know a few people…”
***
Tae Joon graciously offered her to stay at his place while he himself crashed at the headquarters. Not the most ideal solution, but it was only temporarily, until they dealt with the dirtbags accordingly.
After that he introduced Hye Soo to the team, and together they planned out their course of action.
First of all, Soo Kyung and Tae Joon posed as a married couple that were expecting a child in the future and were in desperate need of a new home to get the scammers' attention. They threw the bait and waited until they could meet the agents of this "company".
After that they had to figure out how to get the leader of the company, a man named Kim Dae Kyung. They decided to get more evidence of his crimes and hand him over to the police, which was the least risky and the most effective way of doing away with him. That meant going through his personal belongings and probably blackmail.
But getting the much needed information was so much harder considering their target was a literal hermit. The only times you could catch him outside his house were when he would meet his new clients or unwind in a bar.
Which had brought them to this moment.
“What do you mean spread out?” Eui Sung asked.
“Since it's so hard to catch the right moment, we have to act as quickly as possible. And that means... everyone will have to play their part at the same time, but we'll all be in different locations.”
He then explained that he and Soo Kyung would have a meeting with the agents of the company, allowing the other three to go after the head, Kim Dae Kyung.
“Na Byeol, you will search his house. Find anything and everything that could incriminate him,” he said, and Na Byeol nodded. “Our target only goes out to the bar for a short break, so you’ll have limited time. And that’s where you,” he pointed at Eui Sung, “will play your part. You will have to go in and distract him as long as you can.”
“Me? Wait, what do you want me to do?”
“You’re going to be just another customer who decided to strike up a conversation. Talk to him, stall him, prevent him from going home as long as you can to give Na Byeol time.”
For some reason Eui Sung’s palms started to sweat.
The thought of having to spend one-on-one time with their target, especially after the last time he was forced to be on his own with their targets involuntarily came to mind, of course, didn’t bring him any comfort. His strengths were technology and surveillance, backing his team up from afar, opening all doors for them, only occasionally providing help as minor characters. Not directly interacting with the target, especially when he didn’t have his teammates right behind him.
“W-wait, why me? Why not Roy?” he pointed at the other man. “Surely he fits better. He has more, uhh… natural charisma?”
Roy quirked an eyebrow at that, and Soo Kyung giggled quietly.
“Because you are generally more, you know, amiable looking. Let’s just say I think it would be better if Dae Kyung was approached by someone… less intimidating,” Tae Joon said.
Eui Sung made a confused face, and Na Byeol laughed out loud. He then realized that the insinuation here was that he was just naturally giving off an impression of someone who couldn’t stand up for himself, and he was slightly offended.
“Hey, I can be intimidating!” he pouted.
“The only thing you can intimidate is maybe your breakfast,” Na Byeol smirked and high fived Roy, which has only brought Eui Sung more annoyance at his situation.
“Besides,” Tae Joon continued, not paying their bickering any mind, “Roy will have a different mission. He’ll be the one driving you both to your respected locations and back. Since Dae Kyung’s house is in a very closed off neighborhood, others might get very suspicious of a van waiting around. So instead Roy will wait under the bar and only pick up Na Byeol when she’s ready.”
“So, he’s going to be nearby?” Eui Sung asked, perhaps with a little more enthusiasm than he wished to reveal.
“What are you so worried about, Hacker?” Roy suddenly asked.
“Well, you know… Who knows what could happen…” he thought back to last time, when after he was done with his part and still got got.
“You get to just relax at a bar, what could there possibly be to be scared about?”
Eui Sung didn’t know what to answer. What was he scared about? There was nothing concrete, he just had a bad feeling, but he already had bad feelings most of the time, so he said nothing. He hated to admit it, but he was acting unreasonably in that situation. He really had nothing to complain about.
Roy, on the other hand, was surprised at the lack of a response from Eui Sung. His question was meant as a teasing, but he realized that the other must be genuinely worried, so he decided to lay off for now. Later he would regret his words said in that particular moment. He should’ve listened to his worries, probably should’ve offered to switch places, since he understood very well that the jokes about Eui Sung’s helplessness weren’t particularly unfounded. But at the time it didn’t seem too important, and they were much more concerned with preparing Tae Joon and Soo Kyung for their performance than anything else. So this conversation was long forgotten.

All too quickly came the evening to put their plan into action.
Tae Joon and Soo Kyung had already left, and Roy had already dropped Na Byeol off at the target’s house and was on his way to the bar to leave Eui Sung to do his thing.
He stopped the van in front of the entrance to the bar, and Eui Sung stood up to reluctantly exit.
“You’re going to be outside, right?” he asked Roy.
“Yes, I’m going to be here, at least until Na Byeol finds the safe,” he heard Roy’s firm voice in his left ear. “But the trip there and back only takes fifteen minutes, you will be fine.”
Indeed, they had calculated that the road from the bar to Dae Kyung’s house and back only took about fifteen minutes. But that did not mean absolute security.
Eui Sung really wanted to object that actually so many things could go wrong in fifteen minutes, but then he decided that he should stay silent to save last bits of his dignity in front of Roy. After all, excluding Roy, he got the easiest job of them all, only having to sit and talk for a while, not even playing any particular role.
“Now hurry,” Roy said, “before our target decides to go home.”
Eui Sung nodded resolutely. “Yes, sir.”
He was determined to do his absolute best and not let anyone down. But when he entered the building his confidence instantly faded. He spotted Dae Kyung right away, and at that moment it hit him that he was completely alone. And he would definitely be whining about it if others didn’t absolutely depend on him.
Instead he simply looked around. It was a small establishment with a few tables and a nice atmosphere. It wasn’t too crowded, and Eui Sung could definitely find himself a vacant table if he wanted to. But his destined seat was, of course, next to their target.
Dae Kyung was sitting at the bar counter sipping on a drink. Eui Sung took a deep breath and headed straight to him.
He plopped down on the stool two seats to the left of their target and ordered himself a glass of something light. He had absolutely no desire to get drunk that night. After about two minutes of sitting in silence and figuring out his next move he felt more than noticed the other’s eyes on him.
So Eui Sung got his attention without any effort straight away, great.
“Well, hello there, pretty guy.”
The voice and the words caught him completely off-guard, and made him nearly choke on his drink. He turned to Dae Kyung to make sure the man was talking to him.
“M-me?”
He heard Na Byeol snort in his ear. “Who's pretty? Is he talking to you?”
Dae Kyung laughed softly. “I'm sorry, it's probably not an inappropriate getting. I just couldn't help myself.”
“Ah… It's okay,” Eui Sung laughed it off awkwardly even though in reality he was immediately on edge without even realizing it. “Good evening to you too. My name's Park Man Young,” he introduced himself with a prepared name to move on from the awkwardness.
“Kim Dae Kyung.”
So now Eui Sung just had to bust out all the charm of his personality and get this guy into a conversation.
“So… Do you come here often?”
“Do I come here often? You could say that...” Dae Kyung said, and it was about the most cryptic answer Eui Sung ever heard. He didn’t even know what to say after that, but luckily, Dae Kyung continued: “Although tell me something. I've never seen you around.”
“Ah, right... I'm sort of new to this part of the city. I've moved in a few days ago. I just decided I should go out and meet some people.”
“I knew it.”
“Huh?”
“I knew I would remember someone as handsome as you,” Dae Kyung laughed again, and Eui Sung's cheeks flushed bright red. “You could sweep anyone off their feet, you know.”
“What the hell? Is he flirting with you or something? I can't listen to this,” he heard Na Byeol's voice.
“Hah! Who would've thought,” Roy chuckled. “You're in luck tonight, Hacker.”
Eui Sung started violently coughing to shut them up. “Stop saying nonsense!” he mumbled quietly so that only his teammates would hear him.
“Eh? Did you say something?”
“Nothing! Nothing. It's very nice to meet you, sir.”
He then thought he noticed something weird flicker in the target's eyes. But it only lasted a second, so Eui Sung wasn't sure he didn't imagine it.
“Hey,” Dae Kyung motioned to the bartender, “let my friend have some more, and put it on my tab.”
“Really? Thank you,” Eui Sung said, and Dae Kyung winked at him, which only made Eui Sung more uncomfortable. But nothing was too intolerable just yet.
In fact, Eui Sung felt pretty good about it so far: he managed to draw the attention of their target pretty effortlessly, and it looked like the man was pretty interested in this conversation, so if he kept this up he was sure he could buy Na Byeol all the time in the world to search his house upside-down. Not that he wanted to, since this guy was giving him the biggest creeps ever.
“Do you like this part of the city?” he asked to continue the conversation.
Dae Kyung hummed, thinking. “No, not particularly,” he said in the end.
“Why staying here, then?”
“I like the people here,” he replied. “They mind their own business, you know? I could be doing anything behind the doors of my home, and they wouldn't even care. They don't ask questions.”
Eui Sung suppressed the urge to ask what questions. He determined that he didn't really want to know the specifics. Surely he just meant his fake real estate company, what else could there be, right?
“What, you're not going to ask me what I mean?” Dae Kyung suddenly asked.
“What? U-um...” Eui Sung laughed nervously. “I figured since I'm gonna live here I'm not going to ask questions and mind my own business as well?” he offered. “Unless you want to tell me yourself, of course.”
Dae Kyung bared his teeth in a weird looking smile which could only be described as a wolfish grin of a predator right before it sunk its teeth into its prey.
“No,” Dae Kyung said, and after a somewhat ominous pause he added: “I have a feeling you'll find out soon enough anyway.”
Eui Sung would lie if he said he didn't feel slight chills run down his spine.
He felt his glass nearly slipping out of his hand because of sweat. He set it down on the table. It was empty already anyway.
Back in the van Roy scrunched his nose in irritation. Now this guy was just trying to intimidate Eui Sung to try and manipulate him in some way. And he could practically see Eui Sung's fluttering eyelashes and slightly open mouth as he loses his train of thought completely. If it was Roy out there, he wouldn't have even bat an eyelid at such a crude attempt to instill fear in someone. But it was Eui Sung they were talking about, and the prolonged silence on the other end of the earpiece was good enough indication.
“Hacker, remember who you're talking to. He's just a scammer, he's not going to do anything. Just ignore whatever he says and stay calm,” he spoke in hopes to calm his teammate down a little bit.
But Roy himself didn't believe his own words. He wasn't particularly worried, but if he had only been listening halfheartedly before, now he was definitely more alert. If he was being honest, this guy didn't sound like just a usual scammer, rather more sinister. And now he wished he did switch places with Eui Sung. But it was too late now, and he didn't want to throw their hacker into panic in fear of compromising their mission.
Hearing Roy's words in his ear both comforted and ticked Eui Sung off even more. He was glad to know Roy was still there and listening, so, in theory, he was safe. But he was annoyed because Roy could only hear, he didn't see Dae Kyung's creepy smile, his predatory eyes, couldn't smell his foul breath or feel the revolting warmth he was radiating that Eui Sung could sense even being one seat apart from him. So how could he tell him to stay calm?
“I see your glass is empty over there, little buddy,” he heard Dae Kyung’s voice. “Please,” the man turned to the barkeep, “a refill for my friend.”
The newly refilled glass landed in front of him, and snapped his attention back to the problem at hand. He briefly glanced at Dae Kyung and saw that the other was watching him, as if waiting for him to take a sip.
Eui Sung brought the glass to his lips, and saw Dae Kyung's smile widen ever so slightly.
“Why don't you tell me about yourself?” Dae Kyung then asked. “For example, what do you do for living?”
Eui Sung barely stopped himself from sighing in relief. Finally, a normal question.
Their further dialogue went pretty smoothly. Eui Sung fed him some wild stories about his made up life, and listened to Dae Kyung lie about his line of business as well.
“I work as a real estate agent,” he said, completely omitting the fact that he sold already occupied apartments and stole his clients' money.
“That's so cool!” Eui Sung replied. “Can you tell me more about it?”
“Of course, sweetheart,” Dae Kyung flashed him a smile, and once again Eui Sung's stomach twisted just the tiniest bit.
Back in the van Roy also found himself frowning. First time it was kind of funny, second time it was already getting old, but at that point this was starting to look more like a pattern, and Roy wasn’t liking it.
The talk went on for about ten more minutes, until something strange happened.
A loud bang and a sound of glass shattering made Eui Sung jump in his seat and turn his head sharply. At the far corner table an angry woman was storming off leaving behind a lost guy who looked just pathetic. She shouted at him so loudly that everyone in the bar could hear. Something about him cheating, and he could only miserably attempt to defend himself. Eui Sung hissed sympathetically. That guy was definitely having a terrible evening... But that wasn’t his problem. He turned back to their mark to find the other man smiling warmly.
“Has anybody ever told you you have pretty eyes?”
Eui Sung almost choked on his drink once more.
“W-what?”
“Absolutely gorgeous, I could definitely drown in them...”
“Uhhh...”
Eui Sung's skin crawled. Something about Dae Kyung's voice was different, but he couldn't figure out what, and that last comment made him want to run to the exit and ask Roy to drive away as fast as possible.
Dae Kyung moved just an inch closer to Eui Sung, who simultaneously backed away.
“Seriously, with those pretty eyes I bet you have a gorgeous smile as well. Don't you want to smile for me?”
Eui Sung swallowed thickly.
It seemed even Na Byeol understood there were no place for jokes anymore.
“Is this guy out of his mind? I feel gross even listening to him,” Na Byeol commented. “Is it safe for Eui Sung to be next to him?”
Eui Sung wanted to yell that yes, he was, in fact, feeling very unsafe right now, and let everyone know just what he thinks of this guy next to him. But on the outside he could only flash an awkward smile and do his best to hide his discomfort so as not to blow his cover. After all, everyone depended on him being able to stall as long as possible.
After a few more seconds Dae Kyung suddenly burst out laughing. “You should've seen your face! My little guy, I'm just messing with you, relax.”
“Oh,” Eui Sung breathed out. Suddenly he felt a dull headache forming behind his eyes. Was it the drinks, or the fact that he had been stressing out all evening?
“Eui Sung, just give me a sign, and we can abort this,” Roy said. “Clear your throat if you need help.”
But Eui Sung kept quiet. He wasn't about to ruin the con just because of a few weird comments or some messed up jokes. Even if he was freaking out real bad right now. He turned away from Dae Kyung for a second, and whispered: “I'm fine.”
“Okay. Na Byeol, how much longer?” Roy asked, and you could hear it in his voice he wasn't enjoying any of this either.
“I only have the living room to go through. I bet the safe is in here. I think you can start driving now.”
“Okay.”
Eui Sung both sighed with relief internally and freaked out even more. He was alone for real now, but it was just fifteen minutes. He had to endure this creep for just fifteen more minutes, and then he was done.
He asked for the third drink, just to calm his nerves, and prayed to whoever his anxiety didn't show on his face.
But just a few minutes later something else threatened to show on his face, and that was extreme discomfort he was starting to feel in the area of… pretty much his entire body. Not only his migraine had considerably worsened, but now his muscles also began somewhat aching and feeling numb. He blamed it on the exhaustion from tonight’s mission and also maybe his whimsical attempts to exercise earlier that week.
Then he tried to continue a conversation, and… to a certain amount of fear, he felt some difficulty forming his next line.
“How- how about you- you tell me...”
“Do you have any family?” Dae Kyung suddenly interrupted him.
“What?..”
“Like, is there anyone you live with? A girlfriend?”
“Well, no...”
“Really? How interesting...”
“You really should've said you have someone at home,” Roy said.
Eui Sung couldn't understand why.
“...huh?” he accidentally said out loud.
“What?” Dae Kyung asked.
“No, nothing.”
That headache of his was getting noticeably horrible. In addition, it was suddenly getting much harder to verbalize his thoughts correctly. He wanted to tell Dae Kyung that his family was none of his business, but his mouth just wouldn't cooperate.
“It's...The living... none...”
What was happening to him? Why was Dae Kyung suddenly smiling so predatory?
“What are you trying to say there, little guy?”
“How much did you drink?” Roy’s voice could be heard somewhere in the distance. It held almost a worried tone to it. “I’ve told you not to drink too much, damnit.”
Eui Sung really wanted to protest that no, he shouldn’t be drunk at all, he’s only had like three glasses… wait, then what was the case?
Suddenly Dae Kyung hopped from his own seat to the one right next to Eui Sung.
He put his own hand on Eui Sung's, and his heart made a leap. His first instinct was to immediately pull it away, but to his own horror he realized it wouldn't fully obey. He could only make a weak attempt to free his hand, but Dae Kyung grabbed it really tight.
Eui Sung's heart was pounding so hard it felt like it would break his ribs. That was enough, he was done. He had to tell Roy, he needed to... but his mouth just wouldn't listen...
He started to speak, but Dae Kyung quickly placed his hand over his mouth.
“Shh, you don't want to say anything wrong now,” he whispered.
***
Meanwhile Na Byeol was nearly jumping from joy, as she finally was able to lay her hands on their target's safe. Number combination and a padlock? Pshh, not a problem for her. She was done in under a minute.
But having opened it, she was disappointed to see there were no gold bars. And no money whatsoever in general.
“What a cheapskate,” she huffed. “Didn't even leave any money for me!”
“This is not what we're after. Look for documents,” Roy reminded her.
“Yeah, yeah...”
There was only a folder and a closed shoebox in the safe. She figured the folder must be where their target kept the documents and everything important, so the shoebox was what had really caught her attention.
“There's some weird box, I wonder what's in it,” she said and went to open it.
What she saw inside almost made her drop it.
There were pictures, a lot of pictures. As she flipped through them she wanted to puke more and more, and her eyes widened in horror.
“Roy, turn the car around,” she said, the tone of her voice having completely changed.
“What about you?” he asked.
“Forget me, you need to drive back and get Eui Sung out, now,” without a second thought he complied, turning the van around to drive back where he came from.
“Why? What did you find?” his voice was steady, but his stomach grew an uneasy feeling. Without noticing he pressed on the gas pedal to drive even faster.
“There are pictures of... of... people...”
“I got it.”
Na Byeol didn't need to continue for him to understand that those weren't pictures of cute puppies and butterflies that were kept in their target's safe. Suddenly it made sense why he spent so much time at the bar. It made him sick.
Next thing he realized he hadn't even heard any kind of complaint or protest from Eui Sung about the fact that they decided to pull the plug on his mission. It could be, of course, due to him not being able to speak next to someone, but still Roy couldn't help but feel even more anxious.
“Hacker, can you hear me?” no answer. “Clear your throat if you can hear me,” only silence in response once again. Roy cursed and punched the steering wheel.
“Is his earbud not working?” Na Byeol asked in a weak voice.
“It couldn't have broken on its own. It must've been found by Dae Kyung.”
Not to mention that Eui Sung turning it off voluntarily was out of the question. All of them know not to turn it off under any circumstances.
“Ah, what are we even going to do?” Na Byeol lamented. Panic was evident in her voice, but Roy couldn't have that.
“Na Byeol, focus on your own escape right now. Don't worry about Eui Sung, I'm going to go and get him.”
“Please hurry. He's there all alone now, no doubt scared out of his mind,” she said.
Roy bit his lip. He really couldn't bring himself to tell her that, considering who their target was, Eui Sung getting only scared would be the perfect outcome.
***
Dae Kyung cupped Eui Sung’s cheek with one hand and reached towards his ear with the other. Eui Sung wanted to scream at him not to touch him there, but his mouth might as well have been full of wool. He blinked, and the next moment he saw his earbud drown in the contents of the glass. Even through the thick fog in his brain he could understand that it was very, very bad. His one chance to call for help was gone.
He could only stare at it blankly, and Dae Kyung snickered, pinching Eui Sung's cheek.
“That's right, I knew about your little toy. I noticed it back when you turned around and exposed your left ear to me. Turns out, some other people have been listening in on our little date all this time. But no matter... Now we are finally truly alone.”
And if Eui Sung's muscles didn't feel completely numb at that moment, he would definitely shudder with his whole body. Suddenly Dae Kyung dropped what little had remained of his nice act, and his face distorted to that of a true maniac.
Next moment Eui Sung felt the last crumbs of strength leave him, a heavy hand landed on his shoulders, and his head dropped on the counter with a dull thud.
“Oh gosh, look at you. That last glass was definitely one too many, eh?” Dae Kyung purred. He then turned to the bartender with a toothy smile. “I apologize, my friend here had a bit too much. I always tell him, he should be more careful, and still...” The oblivious bartender smiled sympathetically, and Dae Kyung continued. “I parked my car at the back, let me take him away.”
Dae Kyung took Eui Sung and half led, half dragged him to the back entrance. Eui Sung wanted to resist, screamed at his body to move even a muscle, but it was all in vain. Nothing was working, and the world around was spinning so quickly that he couldn't even focus on one point. He was completely helpless. Oh Roy, where are you?
He felt the night air hit his skin. The car was close now. With each step they took Eui Sung felt more and more dread. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't even raise a finger to try and fight off. He knew he couldn't fight anyway, but this was on a whole another level. He was completely at the mercy of a sick and twisted pervert.
“There we are, little friend,” Dae Kyung said with a grin in his voice. “Almost there.”
Eui Sung wanted to cry. Please don't open that door, he begged inwardly, anything but this... Somebody help me...
Dae Kyung’s hand fell on the door handle, and Eui Sung's heart sunk… when suddenly he felt incredible lightness. Dae Kyung’s other hand that was supporting him was gone, and next second he found himself sitting on the ground with his back against the car.
Through rapidly blurring vision he only saw two dark silhouettes, and heard vague noises of someone fighting. For a minute he was only hearing rhythmic punches, and wondered what was going on.
After the hitting stopped, the silhouette moved towards him, and Eui Sung's heart picked up the pace again, when a face appeared in front of his eyes, and he could recognize...
Roy!
The relief hit Eui Sung immediately. Boy was he glad to see him! He could barely see straight, but even like that he was able to see Roy's eyes filled with worry. He felt wetness on his face, and right after that Roy's rough hand through his jacket's sleeve on his cheek. The other man had said something to him, but he couldn't hear. His consciousness was quickly slipping, and very soon the world around him submerged into darkness.
***
Two minutes earlier…
Roy practically tore the door off when he ran into the bar. He scanned the crowd, but couldn't find neither Dae Kyung nor Eui Sung. He sprinted to the counter and spoke to the man behind it.
“There were two people here. One in his thirties, and the younger one had blond hair and glasses,” he hastily explained. The bartender nodded in understanding.
“You missed them by just a minute. The blond guy got messed up, so his friend had to take him home.”
Roy's hair stood on ends.
“Where.”
“They exited through the back door. Maybe you'll catch them, if...”
But he didn't get to finish the sentence, as Roy was already gone.
Oh please, let me be on time.
In a flash he found himself outside and staring at the horrible scene: their target was dragging Eui Sung who couldn’t even stand upright towards his car ready to take off and do god knows what to him.
Roy saw red.
He ran up to Dae Kyung, and practically tore him off from Eui Sung. The latter then immediately lost his balance, slid down the car’s surface and just sat on the ground.
“Who the hell…” Dae Kyung began, but Roy didn’t let him finish. He punched him and knocked him down on the ground, and then proceeded to punch him again, and again, and again. He stopped only when he realized he was hearing some strange noise. Then he realized that it was Na Byeol’s voice calling his name.
“Roy! Roy! Can you hear me? What’s happening?!”
Dae Kyung was completely unconscious now, and even though Roy’s rage would only completely disappear if he killed the motherfucker, he reminded himself what was more important at that moment.
He rushed to Eui Sung, kneeling in front of him to check him over. Thankfully he didn’t find any injuries. Eui Sung’s glassy eyes stared somewhere through him, but he still saw some semblance of relief on his face. A tear ran down Eui Sung’s cheek, and it broke Roy’s heart. He went to wipe it with the sleeve of his jacket, so as not to get blood on Eui Sung’s face.
“I’m sorry for being so late. You’re safe now. Let’s get you home.”
After that Eui Sung’s eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness, his head dropping to the side. Roy sighed and went to pick him up from the ground.
“Roy? How is Eui Sung?”
Roy looked at his load.
“I’m assuming he got roofied. He’s unconscious now. I’m taking him back to the van.”
Na Byeol was silent for a minute, likely processing that information.
“Okay… I’ve already texted Tae Joon and Soo Kyung, they’re coming back too.”
“Alright, meet you at the headquarters.”
***
Eui Sung woke up and immediately wished he hadn’t. He tried to sit up, but then groaned and clutched his head. Somehow that dull headache from yesterday still persisted even today, and was twice, if not three times as bad. Wait, yesterday? What even happened yesterday? A surge of panic went through him, and he attempted to get up again to assess the situation.
“I would advise you to lie back down,” he heard a voice. It was Roy. So Roy was here, huh. It instantly made things better, and he relaxed, feeling much safer.
He looked around the room as much as he could without turning his head too much and realized he was back at the headquarters. His body was covered with a warm blanket. He had no recollection of how he’d gotten here, or what had even happened after he’d gotten into the conversation with their target.
“How are you feeling?” Roy asked him.
A wave of nausea hit him, and he squeezed his eyes shut, a slight moan escaping his lips.
“Like shit,” he managed.
Roy hummed and squatted down next to him. Eui Sung flinched slightly from the sudden movement, but then he saw Roy was only handing him a glass of water.
“Better to stay hydrated,” he said plainly.
“Thanks,” he said, taking the glass. Roy helped him get up a little bit so that he could drink. Even that little movement made his stomach twist with nausea once more, and he nearly gagged. Roy laid him back down, and after waiting a few seconds until his stomach calmed down, he finally asked the question that had been bugging him since he’d woken up.
“What happened?”
“You got drugged and nearly kidnapped, then you passed out and I took you back to the base.”
“…oh.”
Memories came flooding back in. Images of events of the previous evening flashed before his eyes: Dae Kyung’s ugly smile, his hands on his face, the bar’s back door, the car…
All of it came back at once, threatening to completely overwhelm him. His heart picked up the pace, and suddenly it was harder and harder to breathe…
“Hacker?” Roy was right at his side instantly. “Hey, Jung Eui Sung. Just breathe, okay? It’s all over, you’re safe now.”
For a few seconds Eui Sung was simply breathing, in and out, until he was back in the present.
“Sorry…” he swallowed hard and squeezed his eyes shut. “You must think I’m a total loser right now.”
“Not at all,” Roy replied. “You just went through something traumatic, it’s only natural to freak out.”
Eui Sung couldn’t find what to reply. He fully expected Roy to, well, maybe not mock him openly, but he still messed up where Roy would definitely never.
“I made a mistake…” he said. “I ruined the mission. I…”
Roy demonstratively sighed so loud that Eui Sung had to quiet down.
“You did not ruin anything, okay? And also, do you have any idea how that happened? At what point did he spike your drink, I mean.”
Eui Sung had to pause to think about it. He made sure to watch his glass at all times, even though he did not expect something like this, but there was one moment. If he had to guess then it would be…
“When some loud noise distracted me,” he started recalling. “A couple was having an argument, and the woman caused a scene. I turned away from Dae Kyung and from my drink for a moment because I got startled when she broke a glass.”
Roy closed his eyes and frowned. Eui Sung was already anticipating an earful, but instead all Roy said was:
“I see,” then, after a pause he continued. “So it was premeditated after all. He either was originally targeting someone else and switched to you, jumping at the opportunity, or planned for a random attack, and you were simply there at the wrong time. People like him would stop at nothing to get their way, so it would’ve happened no matter what, and it’s not your fault.”
“…Wow, okay. I don’t know if I’m supposed to feel better, or be in even more misery.”
Roy breathed out the faintest laugh.
“It’s your choice, Hacker.”
They heard the metal gate slide to the side and several footsteps go down the stairs to their headquarters.
“Jung Eui Sung!”
“Eui Sung-ah!”
It was Na Byeol together with Tae Joon and Soo Kyung. They saw that he was awake now, and rushed to his side. They wouldn’t have been able to do anything, but they simply had a strong need to make sure their teammate and friend was relatively okay. Obviously, he still felt the aftereffects of the drug, and was shaken to a great extent, but Roy was just in time to prevent something much more horrible from happening.
Their loud voices felt like someone was hitting Eui Sung’s head with a hammer. Against own desire, he flinched and quietly hissed.
Noticing that Roy has brought his finger to his lips, wordlessly telling everyone to mind their volume.
“Oh, sorry, sorry,” Soo Kyung whispered.
“How are you feeling?” Tae Joon asked, voice as soft and gentle as ever.
“Like shit,” he repeated his own words. “Okay, maybe just slightly better than when I’d woken up. My head’s killing me.”
“It’s gonna be like that for some time. I’m afraid you’ll have to get through it,” Roy said.
“How long?” Na Byeol turned to Roy with worried eyes.
“A day. Maybe two.”
Meanwhile Soo Kyung squatted next to Eui Sung and put her hand on his forehead. He leaned into her touch with gratefulness, as her cold hand felt medicinal to his devastating headache.
“What did we tell you, ah?” she murmured. “Be safe. Why didn’t you listen?”
“Sorry…” Eui Sung replied.
“Yeah, what did you do?” Na Byeol started.
“I got distracted, and he used the moment to spike my drink,” Eui Sung admitted to everyone.
“What?! How could you be so careless?”
“Na Byeol…” Tae Joon stopped her.
“It could be any of us,” Roy said. Everyone turned to him in question. “The couple were most likely his accomplices. It’s a classic scheme: some paid actors create a distraction and make the victim look away while the guy uses the moment to mix in the drug,” Eui Sung looked taken aback. He didn’t even consider the possibility that that wasn’t a coincidence. “Even if that didn’t work, no doubt they had a plan B, or even C. I’ve told you it’s not your fault.”
Soo Kyung gasped softly. “What rascals… Unbelievable.”
Eui Sung swallowed hard and then turned his eyes to Tae Joon. “What happened to Dae Kyung?”
“He’s at the police’s hands now. Drugging and kidnapping attempt is a completely different matter,” he said. “I’ve called detective Park right away, they’ve already searched their house. Turns out real estate fraud isn’t the worst of his crimes. They’ve found evidence of serial abduction and sexual assault, all documented with intent to blackmail the victims if they threaten to go to the police later.”
Eui Sung felt his throat close up just the smallest bit. That means if Roy hadn’t been there…
Soo Kyung ran her hand through his hair. “We’re just glad nothing too horrible happened,” she reassured, “and you’re safe now.”
You didn’t have to tell Eui Sung twice. The thought that something similar could happen to him made him physically shudder.
“What, do you need another blanket?” Na Byeol asked. And for the first time Eui Sung didn’t hear any sarcasm in her voice. It felt really weird.
“No…” he replied. “I’m just… a little freaked out I guess.”
“I know you don’t want to think about it right now, but you will need to give a statement to the police later when you’re better,” Tae Joon told Eui Sung Sung. “Would you be okay?”
Eui Sung pondered on it for a second. Right now all he wanted was to go back to sleep to forget about the whole thing and get rid of his horrible migraine. But they also needed to get that scumbag behind bars for as long as possible. So he gathered up his strength and nodded. “Yeah, that’s fine.”
“Okay, that’s good,” Tae Joon patted him on the shoulder. “Now… I and Soo Kyung have to go for now, but we’ll leave Roy and Na Byeol with you.”
“Rest up, Eui Sung-ah,” Soo Kyung told him and slightly ruffled his hair.
After that they both left.
Eui Sung was already exhausted by this whole interaction. And it was probably very noticeable since both Na Byeol and Roy turned around to leave him alone.
“Don’t go,” he unconsciously called out to them.
“We aren’t going anywhere, we’ll be around the headquarters,” Roy told him. “I just could use a snack.”
“Yeah, Leader would have our heads if we left you.”
“Oh, okay,” at this point Eui Sung’s eyelids were lowering on their own. “Don’t do anything weird to my face while I sleep,” he murmured.
“It would be very funny,” Na Byeol said, “but now we’re just not in the mood.”
But Eui Sung couldn’t hear those words anymore, he had already dozed off. He slept mostly peacefully, knowing that his teammates and best friends would watch over him and would not let anything or anyone get to him.

2022 drama year in review
Normally I’m very good about getting this in by the new year, but I had a few 2022 dramas to catch up on, so I’m late. I’m glad I took the time to catch up, though, as it’s got me excited about dramas for the first time in a long while. They’re still good! (Even if there should be more sageuks.)
Joining the pantheon of my favorites:
Little Women -- Hands-down the best adaptation of Little Women I have ever seen. The acting, directing, music, plotting were all superb. But there are two aspects of the show that really stood out to me: 1) Little Women is a novel about sisters born into poverty, who have no clear path out of that poverty. They all spend much of the novel learning the difficult lesson that being poor isn’t a state they will someday be liberated from but the noble condition in which they will live their lives. And poverty is explicitly linked with virtue in LMA’s worldview--when Jo starts to write racy stories to earn money, when Meg resents being the wife of a poor man, these are portrayed as moral failings that must be corrected. And though Amy does eventually marry into money, it’s not a road without hardship--she essentially has to salvage the man that Jo threw in the trash and teach him how to be a human again. Bless this drama, then, for refusing to romanticize poverty and ending with the sisters thriving off their stolen money. Living in this painful, heartbreaking, corrupt world as poor girls did not purify them, it merely hurt them. Stealing money from those who made them suffer may not fit LMA’s vision of ethical living, but it’s what In Joo, In Kyung, and In Hye deserved. Long may they enjoy their ill-gotten gains! 2) Finally, a Little Women adaptation willing to make the objectively correct decision and let Jo and Laurie end up together. Every other adaptation and the original novel found dead in a ditch. All hail Jung Seo Kyung.
My Liberation Notes -- Following up My Ajusshi was kind of an impossible task, but damn if Park Hae Young didn’t manage it. A thoughtful, heartfelt, deliberate show that never took the easy away out and somehow found the beauty in the small, painful, confounding details of life. I have like Kim Ji Won since Heirs and adored her since Fight My Way, but this drama showed an entirely different side of her, tamped-down and bitter and wonderful. And though one could argue that the show glamorized alcoholism (I don’t think you can drink that much soju and still look that good), it was all worth it for Mr. Gu. May we all get an alcoholic gangster hottie who worships us on command.
Through the Darkness--This drama was a lot more gruesome than I thought it would be? But it was also smart and deliberate and compassionate. The entire cast was great, but Kim Nam Gil was incredible, doing so much with silence and stillness.
Quite good:
Alchemy of Souls--So stupid. So fun. What is there left to say?
Love Like the Galaxy--It kind of lost me in the middle, but I was back on board for the end. Unexpectedly, my favorite part of the show hands-down, and the only story to make me cry, was the emperor and his doomed love triangle. Is this how I know I’m getting old?
Under the Queen’s Umbrella--Silly and heartbreaking in equal turn. Every time a mother hugged her child I melted. Lots of good, rounded, complicated characters but then there were also a few who were pure, cartoonish evil, which was less fun. The acting saved some of the more confounding writing decisions.
Not bad:
Strange Lawyer Woo Young Woo -- It started out so strong, but really limped to the finish line. I simply have no patience left for heroically idiotic breakups.
WHY??!?!?
*** ***** -- It turns out that when you watch a show that is absolutely not for you, you are not going to like it! I’m glad for the people who loved this show, but every time I saw a novel-length essay explaining how dramatically flawless it was, I truly felt like I was living in an alternate universe. Some of the acting was good, but a lot was aggressively not. The product placement was dizzying. Every single aspect of the premise and a lot of the conflict felt like it was scripted by aliens who hadn’t quite grasped human behavior. Still, I am grateful that it gave me something supremely silly to focus on at a very stressful point in my life, and it’s tough to fault a show that is pretty clearly for a younger age bracket for not appealing to me, an old person. The secondary couple ruled, though.

Bring it on Ghost Korean Drama in Urdu Hindi Dubbed Episode 2 Added to DVD
Tumblr media
This is the second episode of the popular Korean drama. In the show, Cha Jung-Han, a detective for the special investigation team, has been busy with violent cases. Eventually, he decides to adopt his niece Eun-Ae. But while he struggles to raise the girl, he also falls in love with Han Ye-Seul, a single mother raising her son alone. In the original Korean, the title of the drama is "My First Love," or Pahle Pyar Main.
Hyun-ji
In this episode, we're going to see the end of the first half of the drama. This episode opens with Hyun-ji's attempt to fight off a ghost. She's a bit angry because she didn't want to become a ghost, but she's determined to get back to her normal life. When the ghost tries to chase her, she catches up with her and she collapses. Meanwhile, Hyun-ji is accompanied by her friend, Bong-pal, who's a sexy professor. In-rang realizes that the tea he had drunk was laced with a sedative, and she starts to remember the accident her and Hye-sung caused. She passes out in front of a wall, and she is rescued by her friend, Bong-pal. Bong-pal quickly runs to the store to get some medicine for her. Meanwhile, Hyun-ji tries to get rid of her boyfriend, but Bong-pal doesn't listen to her. Bong-pal sees Hyun-ji leaving the hospital. He follows her to her house to see if he can help her, and also buys her a necklace. However, while he's at the hospital, Hyun-ji's mother comes to get him. She tells him that she was fainting because of Hyun-ji's presence yesterday. Hyun-ji tells Bong-pal that she would have gotten into Myungsung University before the accident, and that she should graduate by now. When Hyun-ji and her friends get home, they're having a post-relationship therapy session. After that, Hyun-ji gets a call from the school's manager. He tries to convince him to let the girl stay home with him, but he's refused. Fortunately, he gets her address and she is rescued.
Bong-pal
In this second episode of "Bring it on Ghost Korean Drama in Urdu Hindi" dubbed into English, Hyun-ji learns that his mother died of a ghost. Hyun-ji is determined to stop this immoral ghost from destroying the world. In order to do so, he asks Bong-pal's help. The two men decide to work together to solve this case. Bong-pal arrives with books and tells Hyun-ji that he's her boyfriend. He gives her his business card and saves his number in her cell phone. Bong-pal then sets out to find Hyun-ji. He finds her desk and puts the books and toothbrush and cup combo. Meanwhile, Hyun-ji is in the process of finishing her school work when she notices Bong-pal's sudden disappearance. The new members of the study group are reunited, but the two students start dating. Hyun-ji is a clumsy and shy student, but is secretly working towards a career in the music industry. After the accident, she takes an exam to prove her worth, but she fails. Bong-pal then meets with his colleagues, Cheon-sang and In-rang. He tells her that they are his seniors, but they are very nice and help him. The two soon become partners in ghost fighting and have a blast with their new friends. Bong-pal discovers that Hyun-ji has a new friend and apologizes to him for shouting at him earlier. He also makes Hyun-ji a delicious oxtail soup and a new backpack for her. Bong-pal and In-rang find out that Hyun-ji has been amnesic due to the trauma she suffered from. Hyun-ji begins to realize that her memories will return in time, but she is still haunted.
Myung-cheol
The second episode picks up after Myung-cheol has overheard locals discussing the rumors that haunt the inn. The locals claim that a young girl was beaten to death in one of the rooms. Apparently, the ghost is still haunting that room and has started a killing spree, and it is Myung-cheol's mission to stop this. Hyun-ji notices the monk's bandage on his arm, which is unusual. He then takes the monk to the police station and makes sure to take down the culprit, Detective Yang. Detective Yang overhears their conversation and catches Myung-cheol trying to stop a hit-and-run. After a long and drawn-out investigation, Detective Yang identifies Hye-sung as the culprit. The two officers work together to solve the crime, and they find a dead body in a nearby forest. Hyun-ji, who has gone mad at the sight of her murderer, is apprehensive about the situation. He tells Hyun-ji that he'll protect her and is sure that she'll do the same. Hyun-ji and Bong-pal continue to scuffle, but the two men work together to save Hyun-ji. The two are in love and the hotel manager is not pleased with their newlyweds. However, their relationship chart has been uploaded to the series website and can be viewed there. The actress who plays Jang-cheol's character is the hotel manager. He's a shrew who tries to take the manager's position in the hotel. Bong-pal and Hyun-ji get into an argument in class. Hyun-ji is determined to kiss Bong-pal, but the ghost thwarts her. Meanwhile, Hyun-ji is headed to university. He is being tracked by GhostNet, which confirms that Bong-pal has the ability to interact with ghosts. When Bong-pal leaves the school, the ghosts follow him to his motel.
Soju bombs
The second installment of the critically acclaimed Korean drama "Bring it on Ghost" has been released in Urdu and Hindi dub. It stars Kim Go-Eun, Lee Min-ho, and Woo Do-hwan. The plot centers around a man who crosses a magical door to a parallel world and meets a tough cop. Together, they embark on a romantic journey to shut the door opened by demons. Those who are new to this genre of drama will be surprised to learn that there are many dubbed Korean dramas available in Indian languages, including Hindi. In fact, many popular Korean dramas have been dubbed in Hindi, allowing a wider audience to access them. You can also watch dubbed episodes of these dramas on Netflix. This list is not comprehensive, but if you're looking for dramas dubbed in Hindi, you'll find it here! When Hyun-ji learns that Bong-pal's mother had died from a ghost, she takes it as a challenge. She tries to stop him by saving money to fix his vision, but it is too late. The ghosts have already made their way to Hyun-ji's school, and Hyun-ji is not prepared for the meeting.
Myung-cheol's attempt to dispel the evil spirit
This drama centers around the counters, a group of people with supernatural powers. Their job is to kill evil spirits who have escaped the afterlife in order to become immortal. These evil spirits will possess local humans and feed on their spirit. The Counters are given superhuman strength and other powers when they undergo a coma. The main character, Myung-cheol, is possessed by the evil spirit Chung-sin. LINKS OF EPISODES WATCH NOW Please Join Our Telegram Chat Group and Channel CLICK TO JOIN Read the full article

How did you find info on the song on the one teaser for yyxy? I cant find anything beyond basic information :(
When you say "info" what do you mean? 'one' is intentionally vague, having the blank brackets and no mv description, so yeah there's no information to "find" really, my own thoughts are just a product of some detective work. Though below I'll go into more detail on my perspective on various aspects of the teaser for you :)
(1.5k of one teaser insanity below)
The book quotes from Douglas Adam's "the restaurant at the end of the universe" [...do what you like guys, oh, but don't eat the apple], which is a sarcastic quote about how God is kind of a dick for pointing out the one thing in Eden that would lead to the fall of man and expect them to resist temptation when he designed them as fallible, basically hinting that god wanted them to bite the apple and get exiled, so real humanity, with all its flaws and temptation and free will could get started, that it was somewhat an inevitability.
I think this links well to exposition from Yves' new mv description:
Tumblr media
It's interesting to think about in terms of the illusion of freedom though, the Christian argument is that Adam and ...Yves chose freely to disobey God, and Yves here argues it's better to "stand up...against that fate", but both God and the serpent - to varying degrees - manipulate and coerce Eve into making her "choice", it wasn't exactly of her own volition. These link to ideas about determinism, with philosophers like Laplace and Leibniz supporting the idea of a clockwork universe. (I was reading this article about it, which coincidentally features the czech clock that is in the 12:00 teaser.)
This contrasts ideas from 'East of Eden', which yyxy are in part inspired by. The central takeaway from the book is the idea of 'timshel' (which isn't actually a real hebrew word), that by the end of the book, Cal (who Olivia Hye is meant to be analogous to) is left with the fact that the ability to be evil, and also the ability to do good, will always be his choice, and he's not like his mother Cathy (who is meant to be analogous to Yves, kind of), and that rather than his father's blessing, which was what he wanted to hear, this fact of timshel is what he needed to hear. Despite all of Cal's badness, impulsiveness and wrongdoings, he always has the choice to turn it around and be a good person again. Idea of timshel explained below
“Don’t you see?” he cried. “The American Standard translation orders men to triumph over sin. . . . The King James translation makes a promise in ‘Thou shalt,’ meaning that men will surely triumph over sin. But the Hebrew word, the word timshel—‘Thou mayest’—that gives a choice. It might be the most important word in the world. That says the way is open. That throws it right back on a man. For if ‘Thou mayest’—it is also true that ‘Thou mayest not.’ Don’t you see?”
So that kind of covers how I feel on the Douglas Adams book reference in relation to yyxy.
Tumblr media
Next up is the 3 virtues and 1 sin:
Yves is faith, Chuu is love, Gowon is hope and Olivia Hye is... anger? Kind of want to strangle bbc for this one!! anger as a translation for 분노 (the word used as the korean translation) is totally busted - 분노 is meant to evoke the idea of wrath, as in the cardinal sin. From the namuwiki page below is a table which shows that even though 분노 can be translated as anger, I think within the context that the other 3 words are biblical, it should be gathered that they're trying to assign Olivia Hye specifically wrath, and not just anger.
As for the other three - faith, love and hope come originally from St. Paul's letter to the Thessalonians, but is most famously repeated in 1 Corinthians 13, most commonly at weddings lol. but I think Thessalonians 1:3 is more pertinent:
"...calling to mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope"
The letter is St. Paul speaking fondly about the community of Christians in Thessalonica, praising them for their community work (i.e building the city of god is a labor of love). But does this really apply to the girls? The girls are certainly building a community - the whole message of the entire loonaverse is about improving circumstances for all "loonas" around the world, and we're constantly seeing imagery of the "outsiders" (foreigners, queer people, androids, socioculturally outspoken people) finding community after being 'enlightened' to Yves' -- and loona on the whole's -- message.
Yves' loses faith in her God, but gains faith in herself. She becomes an egoist (🧐) and develops faith in areas such as her own performance skills (as discussed briefly in this post) and her mission over all, completely turning her back on God.
To me, the first three girls are "perversions" (for lack of a better word) of these virtues. Augustine of Hippo comments that love is the best out of all three, becuase hope isn't hope if its object is seen, and faith can turn into delusion
Chuu's love for Yves is stalkerish and objectifying as her "fan", and is completely infatuated with, and obedient to her despite knowing very little about her past the image Yves projects. Chuu's love certainly "...bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (1 Corinthians 13:7), but we see that her love for Yves (aka love4eva) is to her detriment, as it leads her to freezing to the point of unconsciousness in the Heart Attack MV.
Gowon's hope gets soured once Yves gives her everything she's hoped for. Gowon wanted a future where she was respected, independent, beautiful, unashamed (and so on), and as soon as Yves crowns her, she no longer has to hope for anything, because she just got everything. "You have seen, therefore you have not believed" "For if a man sees a thing, why does he hope for it?"
We know a theme in the loonaverse is that what society/organised religion deems to be a "bad" girl, and what the loona members' opinions of what a "bad" girl should be are two different things - this applies to Olivia hye too right? We see this most clearly in the 'Why Not' lyrics (trimmed to the relevant lyrics):
If those guys are perversions of the virtues, what does that mean for Olivia's wrath? Is she just simply the bringer of wrath, or does she pervert that too, by embodying its opposing virtue of patience, enduring her time in Eden until the right moment comes for her emancipation, and come out stronger? Despite all of Olivia's cathartic burning of objects reminding her of Eden/Yves, do we really see her demonstrate wrath? That is, opposed to righteous, healthy anger, demonstrated in stories such as the Cleansing of the Temple.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The song theme is (in part) about choosing your own morality, and not letting the traditionalist and reactionary views of others make you waver in those morals, no matter what they say. Olivia may come across like a "bad" girl, but do her actions really reflect a girl who is the embodiment of wrath? This also links to her connection with East of Eden's Cal, who gives off every impression of being a "bad" boy, except its a grey area... Like her symbolic color. Not a coincidence!
Lastly, a look at the German operatic song in the background, where the lyrics line up with the members on screen like from this post, which is kind of unsettlingly cool how well it matches up with the respective characters.
Tumblr media
Yves is the leader, who never discusses her own trauma from Eden.
Chuu secretly longs for a woman who she doesn't truly know, who seems to be(?) unaware of how much she emotionally affects her.
Gowon retreats into religion, and her inner world as an unhealthy(?) coping mechanism similarly to how Aron from East of Eden (though isn't the meadows and stars reminscient of LCM?)
Olivia Hye is so ostracised and pained, we don't even get to even hear about her "heavy pressed heart", as 'she' is silenced before it gets to be articulated.
A lot of people have kind of crackpot theories (just kidding all theories are valid...! ^-^) on what the ending of the 'one' teaser is meant to mean, and the ones about yyxy all being one person, or having DID, or more shit like that. I really think that's a fundemental misunderstanding of what is trying to be conveyed. Cinematically, we see the girls one by one to be shown following in Yves' footsteps, all walking to the same direction, to the same end goal, of eating the apple and leaving Eden.
To me, the teaser is more about Olivia Hye realising at the mirror that her "choice" to eat the fruit was never really a choice at all.

220324 | Will "Dear M" be released in Japan first? KBS told TV Daily in the afternoon of the 24th, "It is true that it was exported to Japan, but the specific broadcast plan is undecided," regarding the news of the drama "Dear.M".
Earlier today, JTBC reported that "Dear.M," which was suspended this year following last year, will be released in Japan in the second half of this year. In a related development, KBS explained, "Dear.M" is under discussion by signing export copyright contracts overseas such as Japan, separate from domestic organization." Meanwhile, "Dear.M" is an uncorrected, no-filter youth romance drama that searches for "M," the main character of the Seoyeon University community post that turned Seoyeon University upside down. It was originally scheduled to air for the first time in February last year, but it was postponed indefinitely due to suspicions of school violence by main actor Park Hye-soo.

2021 april rewind.
music.
‘all yours’ ep by astro. my boys did not hold back. this album has superior b-sides. the vibe of this one is stellar and i am continually blown away by their vocals. some of my fave tracks include ‘dear my universe’, ‘all good’, and ‘all stars.
‘spider’ by hoshi of SVT. woah. this track appeared out of nowhere. it is up there with kai’s ‘mmmh’, they eat together at lunch kind of thing. the choreo is so unique and never been done before. loved it.
Tumblr media
kimsejeong. ‘whale’ and ‘warning’ have been on repeat. i love her vocals and the fresh vibe that these songs possess.
‘drunk dazed’ by enhypen. this comeback was something else. i loved this track. have not really been invested in enhypen, like i listened to their title track ‘given-taken’, but was not awaiting this comeback. but my goodness, this track made me want to listen and watch all their choreos. this was a great comeback, and i loved this track and choreography.
Tumblr media
‘after school’ by weeekly. it’s a bop simple fact.
‘in the morning’ by itzy. well this originally was not a fave, but as with most jyp girl group tracks after a listen or two it becomes absolutely addictive, and that is the same with ‘in the morning’. they did good, and it was an unexpected feeling for itzy, because it is typically a fresh pop beat, but this one was on the opposite spectrum. i am excited to see where this will take itzy in the future.
drama & movies *spoiler alert*
hi, me! this was an incredible gem. i would definitely give it a watch. it was sweet, quirky, humorous, and heartfelt. we follow bahn ha-ni, a woman moving through the motions of life in an unstable job. she stumbles upon her past younger self. the younger bahn ha-ni challenges her, offering a fresh perspective that she hasn’t seen in a long time. with her new outlook, we follow ha-ni as she pursues new goals and guides her younger self back to the past. of course we meet a young man, han yoon-hyun, who appears to not have any ambitions, but is just navigating life in his own way. of course in the traditional drama way, turns out they had an encounter as younger children. we also come to find that ha-ni blames herself for her father’s passing, because he saved her and pushed her out of the way of an oncoming car. the younger ban ha-ni was sent by him, and one of the quotes i loved was this:
my life has been completely ruined, and dad wanted to remind of how i used to be. he wanted to tell me that through you. he wanted to show how radiant…we were.
we love it and we stan. overall loved this one and would rate it a 9 out of 10.
navillera. this was another incredible drama. the rollercoaster of emotions. the tears shed, it was incredible piece of art. it’s so bittersweet to say goodbye to this cast of characters. i would 10 out of 10 recommend. deok-chool is a 70-something year old man who is recently retired, and he had previously been unable to pursue his dream of ballet. now he decided to pursue that dream and making it a reality. he meets chae-rok. this young man’s heart for ballet has begun to fade and then he is met with the task of teaching this gentleman ballet. through this odd turn of events, a beautiful friendship starts to blossom. we also come to find that the reason deok-chool is adamant about pursuing dance is because it helps his memories stay fresh, because we come to find that he has alzheimers, which literally hit me like a truck because i did not see that coming. song kang’s performance of this character was stunning. from the ballet to the heart of the character, he embodied him. and the gentle, park in-hwan, did a fantastic job. portrayed a strong man finally finding piece with a dream he struggled for years to pursue. so incredibly proud of him finding himself and then being able to find a new friendship in the midst of his grief. favorite moments: the scene when chae-rok desperately danced to have deok-chool’s memories return to him because he wrote how seeking chae-rok dance brought his memories back. tears were truly shed. and then when deok-chool said, ‘did you soar?’ when he saw chae-rok for the first time at the train track, after he had been away on the global stage.

how to be thirty. this was an interesting one and the plot didn’t go where i thought it would go. like the main dude, seung-yoo lied like a lot, and ji-won lost her job because he was trash. and the two girls he messed with were angry at each other, where in reality shouldn’t they have been angry with him for keeping this secret from them? like he started seeing ji-won while he was technically in a relationship with hye-ryung who he shouldn’t have been in a relationship with in the first place. hye-ryung was holding on to him and she was kinda crazy, but he should have been honest up front with what was happening. and he broke up with her before it spiraled. i really hope our ji-won is happy with the director dude because she deserves it, and deserves a real man who won’t mess with her. honestly, the second lead couple saved this show, ran-joo the radio show host and the young man, joon-young; because seung-yoo and ji-won’s relationship wasn’t it. i would rate this a 5.5 out of 10, because the plot just wasn’t it for me. the acting was good, but the characters were awful.
please don’t date him. this was a short interesting web drama. we follow ji-sung a programmer for an appliance team. she stumbles upon developing a refrigerator that distinguishes bad men. she is able to help the ladies around her who are confronted by horrible men. she then becomes involved with a firefighter kook-hee, but he is struggling with his past. honestly, this was a nice drama, and i am glad that i stumbled upon this one. i loved kook-he’s character and the way in which he wanted to protect those around him, and that he finally learned that he was able to accept love from those around him. they were so sweet ji-sung and kook-hee. i also loved her little trio of ladies and even though they all had different goals they came together to support one another. i would rate it an 8 out of 10.
Tumblr media
vincenzo. y’all i loved every freaking minute of this. we meet the mafia lawyer, vincenzo casino, who comes to korea to pick up some gold but gets caught up with cha-young. she needs to avenge the death of her father, and the unjust situations around her. babel a horrible company with shady dealings is at the center of it all. and it all unfolds from there. many, like many plot twists ensue. unexpected characters. it is insanely funny, terrifying, and all the emotions in between. it was a satisfying watch i’d rate it a 12 out of 10 recommend.

okay girls this is not particularly organized but here's what i noticed abt why not 💃🏽
🌙 olivia hye ended the so what mv, so this mv starts off with her (overhead view as a car orbits around her)
🌙 at the very end, hyunjin losing her shoe after the festival on the moon: reference to cinderella losing her glass slipper after the ball, especially considering1/3’s fairytale vibes. she’s been left behind and stranded there on the moon, just as olivia was left behind and stranded in eden in the love4eva mv
🌙 scene towards the beginning where choerry is crouched over a mirror, upside down, surrounded by flame and purple light. this is in keeping with her representative animal (the fruit bat) & her official color (purple), as well as her mirror motif
🌙 jinsoul in a phone booth, bathed in the red + blue + purple odd eye circle light... who is she trying to reach? she activates her odd eye, proving that she has indeed retained her powers in this timeline
🌙 yves dancing within the circle of cars & vivi standing there later in the video, surrounded by floating apples... she’s searching for yves & just barely misses her. a reference to their love affair from another timeline, as seen in yves’s new mv
🌙 yyxy dancing in the supermarket—yves, olivia, and chuu are there, but gowon is missing. instead, she’s been swapped with choerry. did choerry replace gowon in this unit?
🌙 ^ choerry crouched over a square mirror rather than a circular one seems to support this. square’s 4 sides = 4 members of yyxy?
🌙 in keeping with this, gowon is off dancing on the moon with hyunjin, yeojin, and vivi. as hyunjin and vivi are two of the original members of 1/3, have yeojin and gowon replaced heejin and haseul?
🌙 besides this scene, though, yeojin seems to be alone for a good part of the video (in the grocery store & on the moon as well). isolated from the other girls... stuck in another dimension, alone again?
🌙 heejin also spends a lot of time alone in this vid, surrounded by lightning and meteors. she is unfazed by either, and the meteors may be from the same meteor shower that appeared in so what
🌙 heejin & hyunjin dancing together... a parallel to previous songs like i’ll be there, where they danced together too. location unclear
🌙 chuu cheerfully dancing in front of what seems to be the sun in bright daylight... odd considering loona’s moon theme!
🌙 olivia hye surrounded by unfamiliar girls. their eyes glow red but hers do not... close-up shot of her eyes, much like in egoist
🌙 kim lip standing in a misty field, surrounded by the moons (the moons from love cherry motion mvs & odd eye circle universe). the moons seem to have lost their colors and turned pure white, though i'm not sure why. the field is prob a reference to the field haseul and yeojin were frolicking in during the hi high mv. towards the end the video, kim lip starts levitating and the field turns purple-tinted, like the grass in love cherry motion
🌙 the blue butterfly, gowon’s animal, flying past hyunjin at the very end... how does gowon play into her isolation on the moon?
🌙 vivi’s in an old-looking car... reference to the retro theme in everyday i love you. also she’s behind the wheel... this might be the first time anyone’s actually been behind the wheel rather than just sitting in the vehicle. taking control?
🌙 vivi seems to be bathed in red + blue + purple light throughout the video... has she replaced choerry in odd eye circle, after choerry joined yyxy? then again, she still seems to be a part of 1/3... i’m not sure
🌙 the festival on the moon scene... in so what, they quite literally blew the moon up. but here, they’re dancing around a fire. it looks almost like a summoning circle, and they’re dancing in reverse. who are they trying to summon... haseul? dancing in reverse to reverse time, maybe? so that the moon doesn’t blow up and we return to the pre-so what loonaverse?
🌙 significance of hair colors? gowon going blue, kim lip returning to her blonde, vivi going back to her orange / peachy color...
🌙 the circle of 12 moons in kim lip’s field break from their orbits and begin floating away... get off the track, à la so what

how the mafia works
top
boss – also known as the capo mandamento, rappresentante, or godfather. they are the highest level in a crime family.
underboss – also known as the "capo bastone" in some criminal organizations, this individual is the second-in-command. they are responsible for ensuring that profits from criminal enterprises flow up to the boss, and generally oversees the selection of the caporegime(s) and soldier(s) to carry out murders. the underboss may take control of the crime family after the boss's death. they keep the position until a new boss is chosen, which in some cases is the underboss themselves.
consigliere – also known as an advisor or "right-hand man," a consigliere is a counselor to the boss of a crime family. the boss, underboss, and consigliere constitute the "administration." the consigliere is third-ranked in the hierarchy but generally does not have capos or soldiers working directly for them. like the boss, there is usually only one consigliere per criminal organization.
caporgime – also known as a captain, skipper, capo, or "crew chief," the caporegime was originally known as a "capodecina" (captain of ten) because they oversaw only 10 soldiers. in more recent times, the caporegime may oversee as many soldiers as they can efficiently control. a caporegime is appointed by the family boss to run his own borgata (regime, or crew) of soldato (soldiers). each caporegime reports directly to the underboss, who gives them permission to perform criminal activities. if the family needs to murder someone, the underboss normally asks a caporegime to carry out the order. the caporegime runs the day-to-day operations of their crew. the caporegime's soldiers give part of their earnings to them, and then they give a share to the underboss. a caporegime can recommend to the underboss or boss that a recruit be allowed to join their crew as a mob associate.
soldier – also known as a sgarrista, soldier, "button man," "made man", "wiseguy" or "goodfella", is the lowest level of a mobster or gangster. a "soldier" must have taken the (oath of silence), and in some organizations must have killed a person to be considered "made." a picciotto is a low-level soldier, usually someone who does the day-to-day work of threatening, beating, and intimidating others.
bottom
associate – also known as a "giovane d'onore" (man of honor), an associate is a person who is not a soldier in a crime family, but works for them and shares in the execution of and profits from the criminal enterprise. in italian criminal organizations, "associates" are usually members of the criminal organization who are not of italian descent.
note: a boss will typically put up layers of insulation between themselves and their soldiers so as to hinder police efforts to connect their orders to them. whenever they issue orders, they do so either to their underboss, consigliere, or capos. the orders are then passed down the line to the soldiers. this makes it difficult under most circumstances for the police to directly implicate a boss in a crime family since they almost never directly gives orders to the soldiers.
props to wikipedia and wiki 2 for supplying me with most of this information. the information is mainly based on the italian mob, and the structure/roles of the mafia differ from mob to mob.

TREND SPOTTING: WHY A TREND CALLED “NEWTRO” IS EMERGING IN SEOUL
Tumblr media
“Newtro” is a trend that’s spreading across South Korea, reports The New York Times.
Lovers of fashion have always looked to the past for inspiration, but what’s interesting about the “newtro” trend is that is it taking South Korea by storm – a country that is usually obsessed with what’s new.
As Choi Ji-hye, an analyst at Seoul National University’s Consumer Trend Research Institute, told The New York Times: “The South Korean market is characterized by its fascination with the latest, newest item, so it is unusual that consumers, especially those in their teens, 20s and 30s are shifting toward the past.”
Of course, it’s not surprising that South Koreans are becoming nostalgic for bygone eras, reinterpreting vintage fashion to make it ‘new’ again. Even if they are too young to have experienced these eras personally, they are taking inspiration from Korean trot music from the ’50s and design trends from the ’70s – time periods that seem enviably simple and uncomplicated when compared to today’s global economic uncertainty and climate crisis.
Younger consumers around the world are also turning to second-hand marketplaces like Letgo and Thredup, rejecting a culture of mass consumerism in favour of a more circular world in which we produce less waste. According to ThredUp, the second-hand clothing market is forecast to grow from $28 billion today to $64 billion in 2024, while the resale market grew 25 times faster than the overall retail market in 2019. It matters because 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions comes from the fashion industry, with many more people embracing second-hand thrift stores as a result.
It’s interesting to see this trend spreading to Asia. As former stylist turned vintage café owner Louis Park said: “For most of our history, we never saw clothes, particularly old Korean clothes, as having value — we just saw them as used. I hope this new trend means some of that can slowly change.”

South Korea and the Prominent Rise of House Music
There’s an alternative to familiarising yourself with Korean music if K-Pop is not your thing, as Korean House music movement is becoming a thing with artists such as Peggy Gou, Yaeji, and Park Hye-Jin leading the movement.
Tumblr media
South Korean artists have become a global phenomenon with the emergence of K-Pop as a part of the Hallyu Wave from the early 2010s, and its movement for the past decade has been mindblowing, with the amount of fans of the genre itself has reached hundreds of millions around the globe. K-Pop artists such as Blackpink, Twice, BTS, and EXO have been breaking YouTube and streaming records, blowing up awards and charts around the world, and sold out every stadium and arena around countries such as USA, England, France, Japan, Australia, and more.
However, if K-Pop is not your cup of tea, there’s another rising movement from the same country that might suit you, which is Korean House. Generally known in countries such as France, Netherlands, and the USA, South Korea might not be the country you’d think of when talking about house music. But in recent years, Korean house music was starting to have an immense growth, with artists such as Peggy Gou, Yaeji, and Park Hye-Jin, representing their Korean origins, leading the genre’s prominent rise around the globe. The trio has started to bring interest from listeners of the House genre, playing their sets at nightclubs and even music festivals around the world, and also showcasing their mix. The three of them were included in the popular electronic music oriented YouTube channel Boiler Room.
Peggy Gou, the 28-year old DJ, singer and producer who is currently based in Berlin, Germany, has experienced such a meteoric rise for the last couple of years, playing at major music festivals almost everyday in European cities such as Milan, Ibiza, London, Barcelona, and her hometown Berlin. Initially popular at the underground scene of house music with the release of her 4 EPs back in 2016, most notably the EP “Art of War”, Peggy Gou plays rather in an old school way, relying on different vinyls and CDs, unlike other DJs who rely on digital music to play on their DJ sets. 2019 is notably Peggy Gou’s breakthrough year, with the release of her own label, Gudu Records, her own fashion line Kirin, and also the release of her DJ-Kicks showcase, which is an acclaimed mix series hosting among the best DJs and producers such as Four Tet and Nina Kraviz.
Tumblr media
Similar to Peggy Gou, Brooklyn-based producer, singer, rapper, and DJ Kathy Yaeji Lee, better known as Yaeji, also experienced a prominent rise for the last couple of years. Starting her interest in DJing while studying at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and later learning how to use Ableton and other musical instruments, the 26-year old played at numerous sets around New York while also releasing her debut EP “New York 93” in 2016, her second EP “EP2” in 2018, consisting of tracks such as “raingurl”, “drink i’m sippin on”, and her own remix of one of the rapper Drake’s popular singles “passionfruit”, with few remixes throughout the year. Right now, Yaeji plays her sets throughout America, Europe, and Asia, including this year’s edition of We The Fest in Jakarta and also Lollapalooza in Chicago.
Tumblr media
A rather underrated artist among the three, currently London-based producer, singer, and also rapper, Park Hye-Jin (박혜진), is just barely starting her career in the music scene. Her acclaimed debut EP “IF U WANT IT”, which was released at the end of last year, created buzz surrounding her in early 2019. She also had a collaboration in a track with New York-based DJ and producer Baltra in his single, “Ahead of Time”, which was released this July. Coming through Seoul’s underground acts, Park Hye-Jin clearly has shown promise onto the scene of house music, and bigger things are waiting for the former resident DJ at Seoul’s Pistil Dance Club, as she’s starting to play sets throughout Europe and Asia.
Tumblr media
As all three of them are gaining their own popularity in the house music scene, great things are expected for South Korea as the country’s scene of house and techno music clearly shows promise for more South Korean DJs and producers to thrive like these three artists who have achieved their success.

hey hi helloo~ so,,,you kinda seem like you know lots of kdramas,,,,and i wanted to ask you,,,if you could recommend me some of your favorites? tbh anything would be fine kdjs it can be something where i can cry my heart and soul out or something really cute! that's totally up to you (but something where i can absolutely get emotionally invested in that it shatters my heart is what i probs need rn tbh 😩✊🏻)
this is my time to shine 🤓🤓🤓 i DEFINITELY CAN !!! esp for my favorite follower 😔💕 also this is gonna be pretty long bc i gave a lot of info for each drama so i’ll put a read more~!
_ MY PERSONAL FAVS _
go ho’s starry night- a chinese-korean collaboration drama starring snsd's yuri, kim youngkwang (the secret life of my secretary), and lee jihoon (legend of the blue sea) - go ho (yuri) is a dedicated worker who deals with her grumpy boss and quirky coworkers. she requests to be transferred to a different team, where she discovers her new boss is her ex-boyfriend, and then basically there forms a harem of 5 of her coworkers who all like her- super fluffy!! episodes are only about 15 minutes long each, and although there is angst, there's a lot more comedy and fluff. the relationship between the two main leads is adorable and had me squealing way more than once
put your head on my shoulder- a chinese drama starring fair xing (master devil do not kiss me) and lin yi- si tu mo is a bubbly girl who moves into a house only to find out that the owner's nephew (?), gu wei yi,  is already living there, and the two end up living together. si tu mo is sweet and outgoing, while gu wei yi is quiet and intellectual- SO cute. although the plot seems cliche, the focus is not really on them living together, that's just what brings them together originally, and the main lead isn't the stereotypical "cold and super smart asshole" type, he's actually very sweet. there are a lot of episodes but i would definitely recommend watching this!
like- a korean webdrama that you can find on youtube starring kim yu an, kim kangmin (maybe, maybe not), yoo jungwoo (love after school), and seo ji hye- about a group of students who create a film club to make youtube videos and the dumb shit they get into, plus there's some romance, betrayal, and fuckboys. - so so so so cute honestly. the dynamic between the characters of the club is so cute and funny, plus the love triangle has me wheezing. also the asshole fuckboy gets what he deserves which is super satisfying. it hasn't finished airing yet, but so far it's really cute
failing in love- korean webdrama  you can find on youtube starring son sang yeon (triple fling), yang hye ji, and shin yoon seop- about a group of high schoolers who deal with falling in love, crushes, rejection, etc.- ok so the summary i gave was pretty vague but that's because any more and i'd be exposing the whole plot. there is humor and fluff but also teenage angst, and the characters are all more complex than they first appear. i would highly recommend this show !!!
i have 3 boyfriends- short webdrama you can find on youtube starring kim ji eun, park sungwoo (produce 101 season 2 [that 30 year old dude who danced to rain's song OMG], moon jihoo, and lee jungsik - when la hi gets in a car accident and wakes up with amnesia she finds that she has 3 men all claiming to be her boyfriend.- OK LISTEN . this show is so funny and cute. let me just say: you MUST watch to the end. that's all i'll say. pLS WATCH
last minute romance- two episode drama special starring han seung yeon (age of youth) and lee seo won (the liar and his lover)- when baek se finds out she has terminal cancer and only has a short time to live, she desperately wants to complete her one bucket list item: date her favorite actor. it's then that she meets an aspiring actor who looks exactly like her favorite actor- so cute and very short, so you won't spend ages trying to finish. it is very fluffy, cute, and funny, but has an underlying tone of sadness because the main female lead has cancer and will eventually die. also her best friend is a monk??? the ending is bittersweet but very fitting
want more 19- a short webdrama you can find on youtube starring jung ha joon, sin gi hwan,  jeon yoo rim, nam yoon soo, and lee jungha- a story of 5 friends in high school. A mutual crush, a one-sided love, and a rough patch for sweethearts, all taking place right around the end their senior year- OH GOD i can't breathe this drama is so cute. it had me squealing every single episode, and it's very lighthearted with hardly any angst
splash splash love- a two episode drama starring kim seulgi (queen of the ring) and highlight's doojoon (radio romance)- right before her ksat, danbi is transported to the past during a freak rain shower and is mistaken for a eunich (which, in korean, is the same word for high school senior) . due to her knowledge of future math, the king enlists her to teach him mathematics and they fall in love- a lowkey parody/remake of the kdrama love in the moonlight but if you added time travel into the mix and took out nearly all the angst. SO cute and funny, and has a happy but open type ending
something about 1 percent (2016)- korean drama starring jeon so min and ha seokjin (drinking solo)- lee jae in is an arrogant company heir, whose wealthy grandfather who decides to grant all his wealth to a kindly elementary school teacher. to only way for anyone else to get the money is for someone to marry her, but they devise a contract that changes it to date for 10 months. although they hate each other at first, they eventually fall in love- this drama is super cute and the kisses are AMAZING. there are crazy exes and all that but the couple's dynamic is super cute and they quickly warm up to each other
triple fling (s1)- a short choose-your-own-ending  korean webdrama on youtube starring jung bomin, son sangyeon (failing in love), themanblk's jeongyou, and themanblk's eom sewoong- lee sehee accidentally becomes friends with the three most popular boys in school and ends up in a love square with them- alright im whipped for stuff like this so naturally i loved it. i also really liked how viewers could choose their own ending as for which boy she chose. there is a second season that i haven't seen yet that focuses on another girl in ANOTHER love square (containing one of the guys from sehee's love square) in which it shows which boy she actually did choose (and it was my favorite so . yay!)
weightlifting fairy kim bok joo- a korean drama starring lee sungkyung (cheese in the trap) and nam joohyuk (who are you: school 2015)- a drama about a female weightlifter who falls in love. persuing the relationship would jeopardize her weightlifting, and focusing on weightlifting would jeopardize her relationship with her crush.  she and her group of friends deal with one-sided crushes, athletic pressure, and self-love.- i watched this drama in full in only two days, and loved it. seriously, it's funny, cute, sad, and just a generally AWESOME drama. plus it takes a lot of cliches and makes fun of them or turns them on their head
when you love yourself (s1)- a short webdrama you can find on youtube starring jung mingyu (sweet revenge 2) and saet byeol . - about a girl who is heavier than her classmates who struggles with self-love and self-acceptance, and along the way finds love- god. i can't even explain how much i loved this drama. the message is wonderful and there's no moment where she glows up and loses weight and then gets the guy's attention or anything: he simply loves her as who she is, no matter what weight she is, and is supportive. there's also an episode that focuses on the queen bee girl who also struggles with weight and self-love and it's just beautiful
after school: lucky or not (s1)- short drama starring 5urprise: kang tae oh (my first first love), seo kang joon (are you human too), gong myung (drinking solo), lee taehwan (w: two worlds), and yoo il, as well as kim so eun (our gab soon)- when so eun gets an invite to the choose-your-mission club, she meets 5 chaotic guys that she becomes friends with, but there's something they aren't telling her.- yes, there is a lil romance and a love triangle HOHO. ok but seriously this drama is the most crackheadery i've ever seen like. genuinely i was just wheezing so hard every episode because of the dumb sh*t the guys were doing and so eun's reaction. this drama seems dumb and funny at first, but there are emotional moments as well as some angst relating to the love triangle and the origin of the club. please do watch this show !!! (don't recommend season 2, though)
accidentally in love - a chinese drama starring amy sun (the eternal love), fiction guo, and ma li- chen qingqing, who is raised by her grandfather) is arranged to be married, but wants to find love on her own terms. on the day of the wedding, she runs away to the university her parents attended to find out more about their death. to hide from her grandfather, she changes her appearance drastically and enters university. her new deskmate turns out to be singer si tu feng, whom she has already run into and has gotten off on the wrong foot with- so this drama was longer than the ones i usually watch but it was worth it. it was cute and they didn't drag out the couple not getting together for ages like some dramas tend to do. the romance was super cute and the female lead's undeterred determination to march to her own drummer was amusing. the only thing i didn't like is that they didnt give the side couple enough screentime bc they were super cute too
my woofy poofy love / my dog-like dating- a short korean webdrama you can find on youtube starring chae ji an and kim do hoon (your imagination becomes reality)- a girl who has recently been cruelly dumped by her boyfriend brings a stray dog back to her home and wakes up to find that instead of a dog, there is a man! she happens to be looking for a roommate, and so this man (who can turn into a dog) becomes her new housemate- literally adorable. female lead is stunning and the relationship is so cute and fluffy and innocent, but the kiss is steamy as hell.
unrequited love (2019)- a chinese drama starring zhu yan man zi and zhao shun ran- a story of a girl who has secretly loved the same boy for 10 years, but he doesn't know she exists, until one day when they meet in college. so begins their love story, but things become more complicated because of other people- ok so like . damn i love this couple. this drama is really cute but has its fair share of angst, so don't expect an easy ride the whole way through. very cute though !!_ MORE DRAMA RECS _
a love so beautiful- a chinese drama starring shen yue (meteor garden) and hu yi tuan- chen xiaoxi has liked her neighbor jiangchen onesidedly for years, and continues to like him despite his seeming disinterest. but her determination and bubbly personality, as well as a romantic threat starts to cause him to fall for her- aight so . i feel like this drama was dragged out a little bit longer than necessary and then the ending was slightly rushed but!! it WAS a great and super cute drama
ok to be sensitive (s1)- a webdrama you can find on youtube starring kim da ye and kim youngdae (extraordinary you) and others im too lazy to put- focuses on feminist issues like sexism and sexual harassment in a college setting, which each episode focusing on one particular incident and the characters dealing with it- listen so like . this show had me emotional at some points bc of how amazing the message was. it dealt with sexual harassment, sexism, how females are expected to act, stalking, pressure to have sex... etc and basically every episode was like . you can stand up for yourself. you don’t have to “take it” just bc you’re a female, etc. also there was really cute romance uwu
ok to be sensitive (s2)- season 2 of otbs, also can be found on youtube, starring yoo hye in and lee shin young, as well as others but again im too lazy to list them all- same thing as season 1, but a different cast of main characters, and set in an office workplace. (original cast makes a cameo at the end)- the issues in season 2 were definitely a bit darker because it was set in a work place, where the main characters were worried about getting fired if they stood up for themselves, but the way things were handled was really admirable imo. also the male lead in this one is ABSOLUTELY adorable
go back diary- a 4 episode webdrama you can find on youtube starring kim ye ji and lee jong won (jaemin’s webdrama how to hate you)- about a boy who sees a girl at a karaoke bar (?) and instantly develops a crush on her. she then transfers to his school, and it tells the story of their love story after 10 years.- i’ll just say it right now. the whole drama was adorable except for the ending, which fucking sucked. literally was horrible. boycott episode 4 pls i was SO UPSET. otherwise, great webdrama
before we get married- taiwanese drama starring puff guo (just you; we got married w/ suju’s heechul) and jasper liu- tells the story of two people who already have partners and are planning to marry them, only to meet each other and fall in love- bro this show had so much angst i couldn’t even breathe lmfao. but the romantic scenes between the two leads were S T E A M Y let me TELL you.
love after school (s1)- korean webdrama that can be found on youtube starring park so eun and yoo jungwoo (like)- about a couple who fell in love in high school and their story, told from 5 years later when they meet again- i love love love this bitch. LOVE. season 2 ... we won’t speak of her lol. but season 1 is super cute and the ???? kiss at the end(ish)??? DEAD. literally anything with yoo jungwoo will destroy me but omg. it was fantastic
lucky romance- a korean drama starring hwang jung eum (she was pretty) and ryu joon yeol (reply 1988) - about a woman who believes wholeheartedly in superstitions meeting a man who believes only in science and mathematics, and their very chaotic love story- this show was so funny tbh. the main couple’s dynamic was HILARIOUS and even though they were literally complete opposites they worked so well together. warning: towards the end there’s that whole ‘i have to be noble and let you go bc its for the best’ bullshit but!!! there is a happy ending
maybe, maybe not- a webdrama starring kim kangmin (like) and gong yoorim- a girl who can read minds and is an outside bc she knows what everyone is really thinking meets a guy that she can’t read the mind of- so fluffy. so cute. oh god. pls watch it’s so soft and cute
my first first love- a korean drama starring jisoo (strong woman dbs), dia’s chaeyeon (drinking solo), and b1a4′s jinyoung (love in the moonlight)- about a group of friends who all, due to various circumstances, move into their friend tae oh’s house, and find love along the way.- idk why netflix did that dumbass thing where they did mffl 1 and mffl 2 but they’re the same show, just eps 1-8 then 8-16. anyways !! very cute show!! jisoo is fine as hell. taeoh and the rich girl are cute together. i found the ending abrupt and unsatisfying, but overall a good show
thumping spike (s1)- a korean drama starring hwang seung eon (part-time idol) and song jae rim (our gab soon) - about a volleyball team and their coach who are aiming for success, and a female professional volleyball player who becomes their athletic mentor- i know it doesnt sound super romantic but trust me. there is lots of romance, and even a love triangle hehe
u-prince: the single lawyer- a thai drama apart of the u-prince series starring august vachiravit paisarnkulwong and apple lapisara intarasu- firstclass is a straight a student who is strict about punctuality and properness, while minute is a spoiled rich girl who loses all her luxuries when her family files for bankruptcy. she begins “going out” with her gay best friend, aka firstclass’ brother, for money and ends up living in their house, but she and firstclass hate each other- listen all the u prince dramas are cringy and low quality but does it look like a give a shit . NO BC I KEEP WATCHING THEM . they’re cute ok . anyways this was my favorite one so this is the one im recommending yeehaw
unexpected heroes- a short korean drama sponsored by the CDC organ transplant management center, starring btob’s minhyuk, ioi’s sohye, and choi jonghoon- about three high school students who discover that, after their respective organ transplants, they have supernatural powers- though there’s not much focus on romance in this drama, it’s still funny and cute. plus minhyuk is in it and what more can you ask for ?? lol. anyways the trio uses their powers to help solve crimes n stuff it’s gr8 and ive been waiting for a season 2 for 98429834 years
what to do with you- a korean webdrama - that is actually literally an ad for a facemask - starring lee hayoung and kim youngdae (extraordinary you)- saerom and geun are friends, but it feels like they’re something more. will they ever take the next step?- yeah this webdrama is super cute and that’s really all lol. also the bitchy girl in love after school is the best friend in this one oho
your imagination becomes reality- a webdrama that can be found on youtube starring oh se young, kim dohoon (my woofy poofy love), and jin ho eun- soram has a crush on a mysterious upperclassman, and wishes to see him again: she does, soon after. each time she makes a wish, it seems to magically come true. - yeah so like . it’s not a supernatural thing or anything, it’s just a cute college romance that’s basically every girl with a crush’s dream lol~!

Plot
The Kim family—father Ki-taek, mother Chung-sook, daughter Ki-jeong and son Ki-woo—live in a small semi-basement apartment (banjiha),[10] have low-paying temporary jobs, and struggle to make ends meet. One day, Min-hyuk, a friend of Ki-woo's and a university student, gives the family a scholar's rock, which is meant to promise wealth to whomever possesses it. He suggests that, when he leaves to study abroad, Ki-woo should take over his job as an English tutor to the wealthy Park family's daughter, Da-hye. Ki-woo poses as a university student and is hired by the Parks; Mrs. Park decides they will call him "Kevin".
Subsequently, the Kim family begins to infiltrate the home of the Parks by recommending each other's services, posing as unrelated but sophisticated skilled workers. Ki-woo tutors and begins a romance with Da-hye. Ki-jeong poses as "Jessica", an art therapist, who agrees to counsel the Parks' restless young son, Da-song. Ki-jeong frames Mr. Park's chauffeur for having sex in the car, and Ki-taek is hired to replace him. Finally, Chung-sook takes over as the Parks' housekeeper after the Kims exploit the severe peach allergy of the long-time housekeeper, Moon-gwang, and convince Mrs. Park that she has tuberculosis.
When the Parks leave to go on a camping trip, the Kim family revels in the luxuries of the Park residence. Moon-gwang suddenly returns, saying she has left something in the house's basement. There, she reveals to Chung-sook a hidden entrance to an underground bunker, created by the house's architect and previous owner. Moon-gwang's husband, Geun-sae, began secretly living underneath the home to hide from loan sharks before the Parks moved in years ago. Moon-gwang pleads with Chung-sook to continue to help Geun-sae survive in the bunker, but she refuses. After the truth about the Kim family is accidentally revealed, Moon-gwang threatens to tell the Parks their secret if the Kims do not keep her own.
Because of a rainstorm, the Parks return home early from their camping trip, and the Kim family scrambles to clean up the home, while a brawl breaks out among Moon-gwang, Geun-sae, and the Kims. The Kims trap Geun-sae and a fatally wounded Moon-gwang in the bunker. After Chung-sook serves her dinner, Mrs. Park reveals to her that Da-song had a traumatic experience years ago when he witnessed a "ghost"—Geun-sae—emerging from the basement. The Kims escape the Parks' house, but not before hearing Mr. Park's off-handed comments about how Ki-taek smells bad. The Kims return to their apartment to find it completely flooded due to the storm, and are forced to sleep in a gymnasium with other displaced people.
The next day, Mrs. Park decides to host a party for Da-song's birthday. She invites Ki-jeong and Ki-woo, while Ki-taek and Chung-sook are required to attend as employees. In the middle of the party, Ki-woo heads down to the bunker with the scholar's rock to face Geun-sae. He is attacked by Geun-sae, who bludgeons him with the rock and escapes. Seeking to avenge Moon-gwang, Geun-sae stabs Ki-jeong with a kitchen knife in front of the horrified guests. Da-song suffers a trauma-induced seizure upon seeing Geun-sae, and a struggle breaks out until Chung-sook kills Geun-sae with a skewer. While Ki-taek attempts to help Ki-jeong, Mr. Park orders him to drive Da-song to the hospital. In the chaos, Ki-taek, upon seeing Mr. Park's disgusted reaction to Geun-sae's smell, takes the knife and fatally stabs Mr. Park before fleeing the scene.
Weeks later, Ki-woo has survived the attack and wakes up after brain surgery. He and Chung-sook are convicted of fraud and put on probation. Ki-jeong has died from her injury and Ki-taek, who is wanted for Mr. Park's murder, has vanished. Geun-sae’s motives for the attack are a mystery to the public. Ki-woo scopes out the Parks' home, which has now been sold, and sees a message in Morse code from the flickering lights. It is from Ki-taek, who escaped to the bunker and now survives by scavenging from the new home-owners. Still living in the semi-basement apartment with his mother, Ki-woo writes an unsent letter to Ki-taek, vowing that he will one day earn enough money to purchase the house and free his father.
