obsessed with the idea of What Will People Think that permeates actions in Barry. even though it’s a terrible idea, Barry goes on fun runs to support the family of the guy he murdered and posts evidence of it online because he wants to be seen as a good guy. Sally’s mother being more concerned about what the women from her church might say about Joplin than about the real abuse her daughter endured, because they don’t care about that. Cousineau making an awkward public apology to Annie and then later trying to capitalise on Barry’s arrest so he can be a big hero. The big song and dance Cristobal and Hank have to do to hide their relationship and trick people into thinking they’re enemies. Fuches constantly bragging about being The Raven because he wants to be the coolest guy in the prison yard. What people think doesn’t matter. What people think means everything.

I just finished episode 8 of The Power and I have to say I love the choice the show made to have Viktor’s death at Tatiana’s hands not come by means of EOD as I’m sure most of us were expecting (especially after Solongo gave it to her) but instead by being beaten over the head repeatedly with a…. Rather phallic shaped piece of decor. Like. Not only was it a bit of a surprise for the audience, it also says so much about so many things. It shows that Tatiana could have saved herself all along. She had that capability the whole time. And I’m not saying that in a victim blaming way. It’s more…. She didn’t need this magical sci-fi biological weapon to escape the situation she was in. This isn’t something that’s only possible in a fictional world. And while her escape came in a very final and legally inadvisable way, it’s just something that can be so deeply personal, one of those things that just… is rooted so deeply in the collective consciousness of womanhood. That pain and fury at how you’re treated by men in power that builds up over time until it bursts out in one way or another. I can only hope some other woman in Tatiana’s position out there somewhere sees that scene and realizes she has that same capacity to take her life back, whether that means divorce/leaving in whatever fashion, pursuing legal action, or, yes, maybe even Tatiana’s method, though for legal reasons I can’t advise beating your abuser to death with a whatever-the-heck-it-was.
I just really loved that scene. And am incredibly impressed by Tatiana’s acting abilities after the fact, although I do feel for Solongo because…. Yikes

RUIN DLC SPOILERS!!!
Gotta love that Cassie had the same effect as Gregory in which I thought she'd be a sweet and determined girl trying to find her friend in a scary place only to have her be sassy and done with everyone's shit, and also, that's HER mask now, thank you very much

i love arlecchino so much you don't understand. it's the thought of arle being the antithesis to the previous knave, the cold and unfeeling father to the deranged and psychotic 'false' mother who only sought to compel the orphans to carnage. arle being deranged and aloof yet mourning for the people she has lost, mourning in silence, mourning and grieving in the rain just as neuvillette does—two people with roles thrust upon them who could do little but weep under the pouring skies
arlecchino just taking up the "cold but soft inside" trope with some of my other favourite genshin ladies and kicking the dial up to eleven. arlecchino being unabashedly a killer, spattered in blood, welcoming her curse as a power to achieve a twisted kind of "good" that cleanses the world of filth like the previous knave before her. arlecchino who is unafraid of finishing the tasks for her children, yet arlecchino who is also genuinely actually fucking deranged to be eating straight up raw meat in her specialty. arlecchino who shamelessly enjoys the thrill of the hunt and relishes the precious moments before her prey submits

Snap Woman
DHN.009 - スナップウーマン “In a minute; I almost have this shot perfect.”
Good Point - Patient Bad Point - Hyperfocus Like - Natural beauty Dislike - Film
7’ (213.36 cm)
A non-combat robot built for civil engineering projects by Dr. Harp. She is based on the alligator snapping turtle (Macrochelys temminckii).
After Dr. Harp got over the heartbreak of losing Monitor Woman, she finally built another robot dedicated to filming, and photography. However, this time, instead of high speed 3D visualization for planning, Snap Woman specializes in timelapse; she will survey a specific area over a long period of time while another project is being done, and the footage is used to plan around patterns in weather, traffic, and other potential interference.
She is very slow and tough and extremely precise and patient with tedium. She does not necessarily have to sit still and do nothing while she records, due to the nature of her snapping single photos and assembling them into a sped up video. She is, however, extremely good at placing herself in the exact position each time she needs to take an image so as to create the illusion of a single, long shot.
She tries to do her work from vantage points where she can take photos of other interesting things between shots, preferring areas with nature, but if not, will settle for a good, high-up viewpoint where she can take additional timelapses of clouds, sunsets, and starscapes. She also adores taking photos of wildlife, especially macrophotography of invertebrates and other small animals.
On the downside, once she’s set on something, she will stick to it, usually completely ignoring anything outside of her immediate attention. She doesn’t get annoyed if interrupted; she just won’t be interrupted.
If she needs to defend herself, she can bite down hard enough to generate a concussive shockwave capable of deflecting physical ordinance (Gigaton Jaw).
Snap Woman has a basic pun name:
She is based on a snapping turtle
Her penchant for photography, indicated by the ‘snap’ of an old-fashioned shutter (even though she uses digital by necessity)

the thing about tiktok is that it’s so easy to come up with ideas that exploit your everyday, sincere interactions into bastardized snippets that try to capitalize on the sacred bonds u hold with the people you love most everyday, but to actually go through with it & revolve your life around trying to commodify relationships genuinely is so sad and has to be actually putrid after a certain point
