You ever watch a movie that has the potential to make one of the most ground-breaking anti-war & anti-american imperialism/exceptionalism statements and then it just... doesn't. And you want to start screaming at the writers because they took a unique, groundbreaking idea and tossed it into the bin in order to end up writing yet another "US military saves the day from the Bad Eastern Europeans!" mediocre 1 hour and 50 minutes.
Anyway, that was my experience with Netflix's 'Spectral' in a nutshell.

I've seen people suggest LXC is as guilty as everyone else for WWX's downfall and the murder of the Wen remnants, either because he knew they were just a bunch of weak and old people and didn't care, or because he was too naive and he should have gone to the Burial Mounds to investigate for himself.
With this post I aim to analyse the events leading to WWX's downfall from the point of view of characters who acted in good faith without having all the necessary information. I'm bringing LXC as an example because he's one of the less culpable in the whole matter, but similar considerations could be made about several other characters.
First of all, as far as we know LXC didn't personally take part in the first siege of the Burial Mounds, since the novel states that the Lan Sect was led by LQR.
Back then, during the first siege of Burial Mound, Jin GuangShan led the LanlingJin Sect, while Jiang Cheng led the YunmengJiang Sect; Lan QiRen led the GusuLan Sect, while Nie MingJue led the QingheNie Sect. The former two were the main forces, the latter two could’ve gone without.
(Chapter 68)
The other three main sects were led by their respective leaders, so why was the Lan Sect the only one that was led by someone else? My own interpretation is that LXC wanted to stay with his brother while he was recovering from his injuries and he didn't want to be an active participant in the siege that would kill his brother's beloved, despite personally disapproving of WWX's actions. One could argue that letting LQR lead the Lan Sect in the siege still meant giving his tacit approval, which is not wrong, but what should be considered is that the cultivation world didn't plan a siege against WWX because he had taken a bunch of prisoners of war and sheltered them in the Burial Mounds, but because he had killed hundreds of cultivators at Qiongqi Path and a lot more at Nightless City.
Before WN lost control and killed thirty people at Koi Tower - the time he and WQ had gone to turn themselves in - the situation wasn't so dire for WWX yet. The Wen siblings' sentence was still being discussed by the sects. WN mentions that LWJ spoke up for him and his sister back then (chapter 89), which suggests the Lan Sect as a whole hadn't taken an antagonistic stance against WWX yet. LWJ probably tried to bring what he had seen of the Wen remnants and their peaceful settlement as proof that they hadn't done anything to deserve being sentenced to death.
Unfortunately, after that WN lost control of himself and attacked the cultivators who were present at the discussion, which gave even the Lan and Nie Sects a reason to hold a grudge against WWX, since some of the victims were from their Sects as well.
“The Ghost General really is fierce… Said he was there to give himself in, but then he suddenly flipped out. He slaughtered again, this time in Koi Tower.”
[...]
“Wei Ying, though, he shouldn’t have made him if he can’t control it. Created a mad dog and he didn’t leash it. Sooner or later, he’s gonna be faced with a qi deviation. With the way things have been, I doubt the day is that far away.”
[...]
“How unfortunate for the LanlingJin Sect.”
“Things were even worse for the GusuLan Sect! Over half of the thirty-or-so people were from their sect. They were clearly only there to help calm things down.”
(Chapter 77)
A few of the QingheNie Sect’s disciples died in the hands of Wen Ning as well. Nie MingJue spoke coldly, “What arrogance.”
(Chapter 78)
The text explicitly states that the cultivators from the Lan Sect who were present at Koi Tower were only there to "help calm things down", which means they weren't trying to accuse WWX and the Wen remnants. At the time, the Lan Sect's general stance about WWX appeared to be mostly neutral (the same could be said of the Nie Sect). LWJ's own attitude toward the Burial Mounds settlement could be considered mostly neutral as well, at least until WN and WQ (and then WWX) really needed his help.
An argument I’ve seen brought up often is that, if everyone had known the Wen remnants were just farming and living as ordinary peasants, a lot more people would have chosen to help them. However, the main issue wasn't how they were living in the Burial Mounds (which nobody knew except JC, LWJ and maybe LXC), but their role in the war. Not only were they all cultivators from the Wen Clan, despite being very weak, but WQ was favored by WRH, which made her involvement in her sect's crimes even more likely despite her good reputation. Nobody had heard of her killing anyone, but how could they be sure? Besides, the Lan Sect didn't owe any debt of gratitude to the Wen siblings. The Wen Sect had burned the Cloud Recesses and killed LXC and LWJ's father. NMJ held a personal grudge against the Wen Sect because WRH had killed his father, plus his own black-and-white morality made him judge WQ for not opposing WRH in any way. LXC and NMJ had no reason to go out of their way to help WWX and the Wen remnants, but before the bloodbath of Nightless City they didn't do anything to harm them, either.
We also have to take into consideration the world MDZS is set in; that is, a fantasy version of ancient China where revenge is absolutely justified and is considered an act of justice. Even wiping out entire Sects in revenge isn't necessarily condemned, since JGY did that for the alleged murder of his son and nobody criticized him for it until they learned of all the crimes he had commited and realized those people had most likely been framed by him. Xue Yang was obviously despised by everyone for what he did to the Chang Clan because his revenge was considered exceedingly disproportionate to Chang Cian's offense. Xiao Xingchen illustrates society's point of view on the matter very well when he says cutting Chang Cian's finger or even his entire arm would have been entirely reasonable.
So, as long as it was deemed proportionate to the offense, revenge was justified. Putting all the Wen survivors who had taken part in the war into a labor camp was considered a justified punishment in universe. The sects refused to admit the guards had actually abused the prisoners, suggesting that was going too far, but taking revenge against them by putting them in labor camps was totally accepted. Even WWX - who the novel portrays as morally correct most of the time - doesn’t condemn it. He himself used very cruel and ruthless methods to take revenge against his enemies during the Sunshot Campaign, so it would be kind of hypocritical if he opposed their punishment post-war. He does point out that people consider every Wen cultivator guilty by association just for being part of the Wen Clan, without really caring about the actual crimes they have committed, but he only rescues the cultivators from WN's branch, who he knows didn't take part in the atrocities committed by the Wen Sect.
Murdering the Wen remnants settled in the Burial Mounds was wrong even in universe because they were innocent. They hadn't killed anyone during the war and the Wen siblings' help was absolutely essential for WWX and JC when they were on the run. Without them the Jiang Sect wouldn't even exist anymore. This was a huge deal considering the importance of debts in universe and could have swayed public opinion in their favor. NMJ criticized WQ for not doing anything to actively oppose WRH during the war, but the thing is that she had. She had sheltered the Jiang Sect's heir and head disciple, the same people who contributed to the Sunshot Campaign as one of the main forces.
The problem is that no one knew about this except WWX and JC themselves. JC, who had the authority and credibility to defend what WWX had done in the prison camp, didn't show much conviction the one time he tried to speak up for him, so the other sects probably assumed he was just trying to excuse his right-hand man's inexcusable actions and that WWX had become too corrupted by his demonic cultivation and was too unpredictable and dangerous. When JC went to investigate what WWX was actually doing in the Burial Mounds, he came back saying WWX had defected from the Jiang Sect and was an enemy to the cultivation world (chapter 73), apparently confirming WWX had finally lost it because of all the resentful energies he used and was a potential threat to them all.
However, a really important thing to consider is that the cultivation world waited two years to besiege WWX. They didn't immediately charge to attack him or believe all the rumors about WWX. The sects definitely behaved like sheep, but they weren't that stupid. They knew most of the things that were said were probably exaggerated rumors, so they were just observing the situation and waiting to see what he would do. LXC, NMJ and the other cultivators who weren't in bad faith (those who weren't driven by their greed, ambition, resentment or jealousy) were all part of this general category. They had no reason to doubt JC's words, who was a fellow sect leader and WWX's close friend, and many of them had seen for themselves how threatening WWX had acted during the banquet at Koi Tower, when he said nobody could stop him if he wanted to kill someone, so they had no reason to believe WWX's reputation was being unfairly tarnished.
During the two years WWX spent in the Burial Mounds and nobody really knew what he was up to, a lot of rumors were spread about him. Some people thought he was trying to build an army of fierce corpses with their consciousness awakened like WN; others suggested he wanted to found his own sect of demonic cultivators and even took disciples, like the banners in Yiling seemed to indicate. They considered WWX a potential threat, but not enough to actually take action against him. The fact that LWJ waited months before going to check the situation in the Burial Mounds is very telling. He knew the cultivation world was at a standstill with WWX, so despite being worried for WWX he knew there wasn't any immediate danger for him. He might have been too busy with his own sect matters and going wherever the chaos was, but we've seen how LWJ behaves when he thinks WWX is in grave and immediate danger. The way he acted during the night of the bloodbath of Nightless City shows it very well: LWJ did his best to help as many people as he could, but WWX was his priority.
Of course, having only partial information doesn't excuse the sects for everything. They definitely had their faults regardless of how much they knew. They should have given WWX a chance to explain himself about the ambush at Qiongqi Path and the incident at Koi Tower instead of deciding to besiege him. They didn't even care if he was actually guilty or not of cursing Jin Zixun, or that he was the one who had been ambushed on the way to his nephew's full-month celebration. All that mattered to them was that he had lost control and killed hundreds of cultivators, including the Jin heir. They took this as proof of how dangerous and uncontrollable he was, which wasn't completely unfounded. He was dangerous when he wanted to be and he did lose control. Taking this information without all the context we as an audience are aware of - that he was only trying to repay a debt and didn't want to harm anyone, that Jin Zixun provoked him so much it was almost inevitable for him to lose control - doesn't look good at all.
Again, the sects did behave like sheep. The novel portrays WWX as the hero and his decision to rescue the Wen remnants as morally correct. Most of the cultivators who contributed to WWX's downfall were a bunch of hypocrites who couldn't see past their own self-righteousness. But characters like NMJ and LQR are portrayed as generally righteous people, so the fact that they took part in the siege proves not everyone was in bad faith. Nobody really knew why WWX had rescued the Wen remnants and his reasons for wanting to protect them, or why he had invented demonic cultivation in the first place. They just knew he did very questionable things like digging up graves during the war, that he acted arrogantly all the time and even started killing their own people. We as an audience know why he did all these things, but they didn't.
Also, after the bloodbath of Nightless City it was objectively hard to defend WWX's actions. He wasn't clear-headed at all that night and when he activated the Tiger Seal he was already in a half-unconscious state. His overall situation was too much for anyone to be able to stand it, but this doesn't mean what he did was right. The fact that he destroyed the Tiger Seal after returning to the Burial Mounds suggests not even he was proud of all the people he killed that night. WWX isn't infallible and makes mistakes because he's human like anyone else, despite being an overall heroic and selfless person. Even LWJ, who was the only one that still trusted WWX's heart and morals, couldn't really justify what he did at Nightless City. He only told LXC that no matter right or wrong, he was willing to face all the consequences with WWX anyway (chapter 99), because he understood his true nature and knew his outlook and values were the same as his own. But most people didn't know him as well as LWJ did. From the sects’ point of view, the bloodbath of Nightless City was the ultimate proof that WWX was the scourge of the cultivation world.
I'm not trying to say LXC is perfect or that he couldn't have done more, but we should take his own point of view into consideration when we judge his actions (or non-actions). LWJ didn't do much more than him during WWX's first life and what he did ultimately wasn't enough to save WWX (I don’t think it’s his fault, he was in an objectively difficult position), but the fandom doesn’t criticize him as much as they do with LXC, because after WWX came back LWJ's support for him was flawless. But LXC wasn't in love with WWX. He hadn't observed him since he was a teenager like LWJ had done because of his huge crush on him. We shouldn't underestimate the importance of debts in universe and how information in general can affect people's perceptions. Even LWJ stayed mostly still during WWX’s first life because he didn't have all the information and didn't know why WWX had left the bright broad road to start cultivating with resentful energies.
WWX is the protagonist, the hero of the story and the character whose point of view most of the novel is narrated from, so it's easy for the audience to empathize with him and understand his perspective. It's really interesting that even WWX has a good opinion of LXC and NMJ (and mostly respects LQR) despite their role in his downfall. It's not just because of his forgiving nature, since we see him criticize the hypocrisy of the sects a lot of times, but because he recognizes they were in good faith and they had their reasons for behaving like they did, despite the mistakes they might have made.

When a nightbrother was summoned by the witches, they would never be seen again. Legends said they would be used by the nightsisters, tortured and deformed by their wicked magic to serve their whim.
There weren't many things that could strike fear in the hearts of the dathomirian males, but the witches and their magic was one. The nightbrother's culture of training their young to wield a weapon and fight from the moment they were strong enough to carry it kept them safe. If a nightsister would choose one of them as her mate - the word they used to actually mean servant, in the eyes of the nightbrothers - they had to be physically strong enough to endure the torture of their magic, and to defend themselves from their cruelty.
Those who would be taken would never be seen or heard of again. Their kin would be unaware of their whereabouts, or even if they were dead or alive. All that would be left for the remaining ones of his clan would be hoping that they would be able to survive, and maybe one day the witches could bring their offspring, an infant male for them to raise in the safety of their village.
One day, however, two adult males returned. True warriors, they could tell from looking at their postures alone, and the dark patch of dried blood stains on their clothes.
One of them had yellow skin adorned with their traditional black tattoos. His horns were a crown of grown shards of bone, one of them broken near his skull, and he was taller than any nightbrother they had ever seen, his body carved in sheer muscle power a weapon in its own. However, he did carry a weapon on his belt - a staff that seemed to be a lightsaber.
The one next to him was smaller, and not as muscular as his counterpart. However, the way all air surrounding him seemed to go cold made him a much more impressive figure, his skin red under the inky black of his tattoos. His features were hidden in the shadows of his hood, his bright yellow eyes the only gleam in the dark.
-
Maul looked around, his curiosity not spreading to his features as he analyzed the small, simple constructions and the men that ceased their sparring training to turn and look at him and Savage.
He had never seen the Nightbrothers' home. Mother Talzin had given him up to Darth Sidious when he was still at nursing age, and his master allowed Maul to return to his home planet.
His chest felt tight. Could this be nostalgia? No... this is a home of which he had no memory. One he never had the chance to grow up in.
He was pulled from his musings by the Chief that signaled for the men to be at ease before walking up to Maul and Savage. He was as Savage had described him - an elder zabrak, dressed in traditional dathomirian robes and with the pattern of great honor tattooed on his face.
"What brings you here," he asked in a somewhat raspy voice, raising a shaky hand to Savage "brother?"
"I am Savage of the clan Oppress." Savage uttered in his deep, resounding voice, and his words swept across the silent square "This is my older brother, leader of my clan, lord Maul."
The older zabraks surrounding them had their eyes wide, and whispers of awe broke among the men. The Chief turned to look at the shorter Zabrak, his gaze rising from the prosthetic legs to the black robes and the red-and-black face in the shadow, the haunting eyes that were an abyss of gold.
"...Maul?" the Chief echoed, and all whispering fell silent as he walked closer to the zabrak
Maul's hand fell to the grip of his lightsaber and suddenly all the men were brandishing their weapon with a chorus of protests.
"Silence!" the Chief demanded, eyes wide and stunned at Maul
The chief's bony, trembling hands slowly found the edges of his hood; Maul stood perfectly still, eyes cold and calculating as the Chief pulled away the covering, revealing the zabrak's face, his polished horns and the pointy teeth of his scowl.
The Chief's features shifted from curiosity to awe. Once again he measured Maul from head to toe, voice coming out in a raspy whisper.
"It is you! But... but how?!..."
"We must speak." Savage intejects, eyeing the other nightbrothers "In private, Chief."
-
They sat on their haunches in the Chief's home, close to the rack of weapons by a wall. Savage looked at it fondly. Not even the Nightsister's brainwashing could have erased the memory of picking out his weapon upon reaching the age of maturity.
The Chief, however, took a sip of the tea he had served them all. It was bitter and slightly spicy.
"How can this be? The Sisters said you were dead. Slain by the Jedi in Naboo."
Maul snarled, his spite clear in his smooth, velvety voice:
"They lied to you. They knew I lived, but they had no use to me, not until they realized that the little game they kept playing with the Sith could have consequences. They sent Savage after me in a vain attempt to use us as a distraction to keep my mas... my former master busy."
Savage nodded, emptying his cup in a single sip and placing it down.
"My brother... both of us... seek revenge."
The Chief nodded back stroking his chin in thought.
"So... Lord Maul" he adds the title with a nod "you've come to the Nightbrothers to aid you in your revenge against the jedi?"
Maul smirks, levitating his cup to his hand with the Force, the sight of it making the Chief's eyes go wide.
"Oh, no, no, Chief. You see, my issue with the jedi kenobi is a personal matter. No, I am here to aid my brother, and all my brothers, in our revenge."
The Chief creased his brow in confusion.
"I'm afraid i'm not following it, Lord Maul."
Maul took a sip of his tea to then place his cup down, leaning forward and staring deep into the Chief's eyes. Those yellow, gleaming eyes were an endless pit of fury and hatred.
"For eras they have taken us from our clans. Abused, deformed, and tortured us at their whim. They cursed my brother with their magic and forced him to slaughter our kin for their sick amusement. They gave me away to a fate worst than death. They steal, brainwash and ravage our men. No more." his smirk widened into a deranged grin "Tonight, we gather every Nightbrother warrior and take our revenge on the Nightsisters!"
At that, the Chief pulled back, nearly knocking down the teapot between the three of them.
"What?! This is insanity! My lord, we cannot face those witches! Don't you think we would've taken a stand against them by now if we had a chance at all?"
Maul rose up to his feet, shaking his head and walking up to a window. His voice was still just as smooth and calm.
"They change the course of every river of energy to keep it off our grounds and use it in their spells. There are outposts at every margin and spring. Under my command, we will attack these outposts and destroy its dam so that the river will cross our village." he looked at his hand, closing it in a fist "Our warriors will bathe in it as they used to in the old days, and I will teach them to use the power it will give them."
He turned back to face the Chief as Savage took his side, both siblings' eyes bright yellow and full of eagerness.
"We will have an army of warriors strong with the Force, and we will make those witches pay for what they have done to our people."
The chief stared at the two zabrak brothers, feeling the sheer power they exuded even to his untrained senses. All Zabraks had a potential to be connected to that power that ran under the ground of their dark planet. The result of such potential when it was used to the fullest stood right before him - two warriors that had no match in the galaxy.
He rises up to then bow down respectfully.
"I will gather the men. Your army will be ready soon, my lord."
Maul laughed quietly, anticipating the slaughter. Beheading Obi-Wan Kenobi would have to wait, it seemed, but this... this would be just as satisfying.

MC Server ಥ_ಥ
Me and a group of friends made our own MC server. Unfortunately, the server was abandoned. Me, being the person I am, still feel the server has potential, so I still play/write lore for it. This may be wayyyy out of the usual for my page but lets be honest, who actively stalks my tumblr page? This is mostly gonna be a place for me to dump the failed server ideas/backstories. So, here goes nothing. If you wanna read them, random stranger, feel free to! I wanted this server to last a while, and we made it almost 2 months with about 12 people in total. So, enjoy!
Word Count: 2,603  (11,679 Characters)
**ALL ORIGINS ARE WRITTEN BY SEPERTE PEOPLE, ALL EDITED BY ME, NONAME**

Character Origin 1, Seven: Seven was born into a life of poverty, shortly after he was born, he got sold to work as a slave on a sea village, quickly being transferred to a sand village outside of a prison. He did is work as a farmer to a small, yet kind and caring family, who adopted him as their own. His name, Seven, coming from a number tattooed on his neck while in the market. During Seven’s time at this small village, they had a fatal accident, having a berserk enderman ruin the home he had grown custom to. He rebuilt the fallen Village, only to have a Piglin army slaughter whomever remained. Seven only escaped with his life, befriending a Guardian named Marvin, who became his best friend (RIP Marvin, we miss you <3). The Guardian helped Seven grow stronger, and learn to fight. A few years later, he came across two children, Tex and Rox. Seven, taking sympathy for the two, took them as his own. As the revenge grew further from his mind, his children grew older. Character Origin 2, Levi:  Levi was born into captivity from a hybrid mother. By the time he could walk, he was taken from his mother, and raised like a solider. Levi had large, beautiful wings, that got removed as a child, leaving him scared and unsure of who he was all throughout his ‘childhood.’ Being he was a hybrid being, he was used on for testing, by horrid endermen. Having experiments done constantly, he had mutated a mouth (basically Venom from the movie Venom) that he had grown to hate. As Levi grew older, he became rebellious against the unfair people. He gained many cruel and inhumane (lol) punishments. During one of these ‘rebellious moments,’ he had expected to be caught. instead, he was left alone to do so. He heard a loud crash and began to investigate. He had walked outside to see 2 large entities trying to fight against the endermen, and winning. Levi took this as an opportunity to escape. He left the end before the two closed the portal to the end. He blacked out and woke up to a short, sandy blonde man and 2, really tall men, resembling endermen, staring at him. After many, many years of building trust and learning how to communicate, Levi became one of their family.  He Moved out many years later, only to return to his home town to find everything left barren and abandoned. (End Levi.)
Looks: Light blue, messy hair, dark blue eyes, scarf covering his mouth/nose, unhinged and slimy mouth, white and blue tshirt, black jeans  (you can tell this one is my, NoName’s, OC cause he is a lot more detailed LMAO)

He can easily build and mine, and is also good at navigating the Nether and finding gold (piglins wanted gold all the time so he grew accustomed to getting it) he's obsessive and goes into a blind rage near piglins, and gifts objects and builds often. Tex was a runt in his village, so when it was attacked by piglins when he was 6-8 he was left behind for a offering, after years of being with piglins he came to despise them. He escaped around 11-14. (He isn't good with remembering his age) He had multiple siblings, but cannot remember them very well. He assumes they are dead along with the rest of his village and now only is comfortable around Seven, Void and Levi Tex has pointed ears, and scars from water/staying with piglins. He has sharp teeth. He cannot see well, water is hurtful to him and his memory is bad but he can easily swim in lava/fire resistant. He is twitchy and quick, he has curious movements and is very touchy and talks quickly and mumbly. He wears a magenta sweater, black overalls, purple flowers scattered about and no shoes Tex wants to be renewed in his new family's eyes, he wishes not to be known as a runt he thinks everyone sees him lower bc of him being a runt. Tex doesn't understand human feelings/ striders don't have many emotions, his anger was very new to him he is scared of Piglins/hoglins and hates water

She was a bit scared, but after meeting the town's folk she adjusted to the overworld, yes she had a few bumps along the way (especially when her friends suggested they go swimming, as she’s part blaze), but she has grown more and made more friends, plus they even let her build her own home! Character Origin 5, Rox: When Rox was young around 4, she was made as a science experiment, (hence the endwalk state that will eventually happen later) she was later sent out to the street after all of those tests (for over 3 years), that she hated so dearly, After about one week on her own in the world, she was soon adopted by seven. She was taught how to fight and defend herself. As she got older, he became smarter and was filled with anger from the past. (hence chaotic good and neutral evil yknow?) So yes, around 16, she married milly and has been with her for a year now, she is just trying help people with her bakery and fight people if necessary (Since she’s in the mafia clan thingy).

▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧
Character Origin 6, Void: Void was born in the end, to a noble Enderman, though they don't remember that. They don't remember their original name, or their parents, or anything about their life. All they know is that they're not welcome in the End anymore, being ostracized after a series of unfortunate events in the End. Their first interaction with the Overworld wound up in them in a village and slaughtering everyone in it due to someone making eye contact with them, shortly afterwards picking up the masks to avoid eye contact and avoid looking at the scars on their face. They fled the premises with their sister Redacted and hid deep into the woods, starting on making a mansion for themself and their sister, where they would be safe. They want to keep all those dear to them safe, bordering a bit on possessiveness with the protectiveness. They have a lot of secrets, and in general are an unknown entity to those around them. They're extremely morally ambiguous and run a mafia, with their pet as their right hand man.
Extra: -Redacted is not Void's blood sister. -Void has worn their masks for so long they don't know what they look like. -Void only takes their mask off to threaten people. -They have such a love of birds because the first mob that didn't run away from them was a parrot. -They hate government because one tried to kidnap them once and study them as an Enderman, using water torture against them. Void escaped and killed a few people, grabbing two masks off the wall as they went to hide their identity.  -Void's eyes are different from fellow Enderman, and if you look into them it's an unpleasant experience for you both. -Void is a peaceful entity until provoked, just like Enderman. -Void has an immense hatred for sand. -Void likes gazing at the stars because it reminds them of gazing into the void in the End, which is where they got their name from. -Void has a dog named Spark because shortly after they found him they were struck by lightning, which they found hilarious.
Looks: Tall  (height unspecified), Dark, fancy clothing, Mask (smile, no he isn’t dream), dark, messy hair)
▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧▧
Character Origin 7, Milly: Milly is a neko hybrid, she's part feline, part human. Her existence came to be when her mother, a neko, and her father, a human, fell in love. She grew up in a small town which wasn't very popular, she wasn't picked on but she did get pushed around by some people growing up. Despite bullies, she had a normal upbringing; her parents were nice and supportive, teaching her everything they could. Her mother often told her how horrible the world can be, teaching her how kindness is a must and how no matter what, she should always help people in need and keep up a smile if she could. Milly followed this advice the best she could. While her mother taught her things through talks, her father tried to teach her things physically: he told her how he agreed, how the world was horrible, so he taught her to fight- to defend herself and protect others with her fighting skills and feline abilities. Although Milly loved her parents and the friends she had, she grew adventurous when she turned the age of 15- she wanted to explore, to see and meet more than she has. Her parents respected her wishes since they loved her dearly, they gave her all the supplies and advice they could before they hugged her goodbye. It wasn't long after that she met Rox, an enderman hybrid who she grew to cherish being around. So, her and Rox got married at 16 and  She moved in with Rox, in the smp she loved living in for all her days. Hence where the story starts.
Headcanons: -Milly has about five cats she keeps, she loves cats. -She likes to draw, collect flowers, bake sweets, and help out people. -She's a lawful good person and pacifist -She likes dogs but they don't like her :( -She has special feline characteristics: she can jump two blocks higher than a normal person, she can purr, she will take random naps sometimes during the day, she has fangs, and she gets distracted by cat toys sometimes
Looks:  Long pink hair, light pink eyes, collar (it has a bell), white shirt and a pink skirt

Unliving is shrouded in mystery, with rumors circulating that Nekron is darkness itself, existing before life entirely, or that he was created by the darkness as its protector. Another claim is that the Guardians of the Universe clashed with Nekron close to the beginning of the universe and were the ones to imprison him in the Land of the Unliving.
Krona War
Nekron gloats
Trapped in his own realm throughout most of eternity, Nekron first became aware of the world of the living through the deceased cosmic villain Krona. A rift was opened in the continuum between dimensions, caused by the death of an immortal. And Nekron looked upon the universe and saw all that was life itself, and determined that he would become its master. So that he might escape his prison, he resurrected and empowered Krona, with an army of the undead at his disposal, to slaughter the Guardians of the Universe and widen the rift.[2] It took the combined might of the entire Green Lantern Corps to defeat them, in a colossal battle that resulted in literally hundreds of casualties. Hal Jordan entered the Land of the Unliving on a suicide mission, and harnessed the souls of his fallen Lanterns to fight back against the great evil. Their combined willpower overcame Nekron long enough for the Guardians to seal up the rift, and Hal escaped, leaving the Lord of the Unliving once more condemned to his lifeless prison.[3]
Further Appearances
The Ultimate Opponent
Although largely confined, Nekron has made several more breaches into our world and had interactions with superheroes. After Captain Atom died briefly, he was introduced to several incarnations of Death, including Death of the Endless and the Black Racer. They were each presented as a component of death... and Nekron represented the concept as a cosmic certainty, death as the ultimate opponent.[1] In an attempt to gain control of the Quantum Field life energy of the planet, he had carefully engineered the hero's death. Although he absorbed a great deal of the power, Captain Atom used his connection to steal energy from Nekron's own personal field, and depower him enough to defeat him in physical combat.[4]
Underworld Unleashed allowed him another opportunity to gain entrance to the physical plane. Destruction of the Tower of Fate created another rift into our dimension, and Nekron fought Nebiros for the privilege of conquering the world. He won the battle, and the undead souls of the damned surged across the Earth as Hell literally broke loose.[5]Alan Scott and Fate teamed up against him. Nekron almost gained full access to our world, but fighting against him with the great supernatural strength of Fate gave Green Lantern enough time to demolish the portal with his green flame.[6]
Through the Rift
He was able to return to our world once more during Ghosts. An outside supernatural force brought a number of dead Green Lanterns back to life, calling themselves the Green Lantern Corpse. This created another crack in his realm, but still not one large enough for him to squeeze through. Taking control of the undead Lanterns, he sent them to capture the last remaining descendant of his original nemeses... Kyle Rayner. If Nekron had killed him and harnessed his powers, then he would finally have been able to leave his prison, but Kyle escaped back out through the crack and personally put each and every one of the rogue Lanterns down in single combat. Although it was a long and difficult battle, putting them back to rest sealed the portal and ended Nekron's threat once more.[7]
Nekron was accidentally summoned onto our plane by the supernatural hero Witchfire, who used his incantation without realizing the consequences it would have. She teamed up with Wonder Woman to prevent him from sucking the life-force out of any more innocents, while he was feeding. The combination of mystical energies and godlike blows was sufficient to drive him back into his own realm on that occasion.[8]
Blackest Night
 Main article: Blackest Night
Black Lantern Corps
Following the Final Crisis, Nekron makes his triumphant return during the Blackest Night, where he forms the Black Lantern Corps composed entirely of his zombies equipped with power rings to wreak havoc upon the universe. His plans for this stretched back toward the Sinestro Corps War, when he killed the Anti-Monitor and absorbed him to energize his own Central Power Battery on the planet Ryut in Sector 666.[9] The battery wouldn't become completely active until it was discovered and disturbed by Lanterns Ash and Saarek, his first new victims.[10] He has taken the fallen Guardian named Scar as one of his servants, for she was burned by the Anti-Monitor and poisoned by his touch, causing her to slowly die and come under his influence.[11] There is also evidence that he has been influencing William Hand, the criminal known as Black Hand, his entire life. His control over Black Hand was solidified when Hand killed himself and his family, with Nekron taking him as his herald.[12]
As his influence spreads throughout the universe, the dead rise and return to take revenge on the living, building his power by literally devouring the hearts and emotions of all those who still breathe.[13] Only those with emotional ties to superheroes and villains are resurrected, to achieve the maximum potential. The sheer quantity of death caused by his Black Lantern Rings charges the Central Battery to full power. At this climax, he transports himself and his forces down to Earth to personally command his army. Landing in the middle of Coast City, he turns every single dead citizen into a Black Lantern, announces that all owe their lives to him, and he has come to collect.[14] Many of Earth's mightiest heroes rally to defeat him, and representatives from all seven Lantern Corps. Atrocitus, Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan, Indigo, Larfleeze, Saint Walker and Sinestro pour their combined beams into his Power Battery, hoping to obliterate it with the full life-force energies of creation. This only makes him stronger, and he seems to have planned this. Nekron resurrects Batman as one of his most powerful agents, who then kills and revives Animal Man, Donna Troy, Green Arrow, Ice, Kid Flash, Superboy, Superman and Wonder Woman as Black Lanterns. These are all people who have come back from the dead at some point in their lives, and he claims they only escaped because he let them... to further his own goals. He plans to use his army to uncover a dark secret of the Guardians... and then return the universe to a state of quiet order.[15]
Nekron's goal is revealed to wanting to find and destroy the embodiment of life itself: the white Entity. He kills one of the Guardians and uses their blood to draw the Entity out of hiding, then attempts to kill it and with it, which will in turn kill all of life in the universe. Sinestro bonds with the Entity and attempts to battle Nekron.[16] Despite Sinestro destroying his physical form, another Black Lantern simply picks up his weapon, becoming Nekron's new physical form. Nekron then manages to take the Entity out of Sinestro. Hal Jordan bonds with the Entity and uses its power to restore the living heroes transformed into Black Lanterns to their normal selves. Hal uses the Entity to transform the heroes into White Lanterns, together they defeat Nekron by resurrecting Black Hand thus destroying Nekron's link to the living plane. The Entity resurrects the Anti-Monitor which destroys the Black Lantern Battery. With his link to the earthly plane severed Nekron's body is destroyed, ending the Blackest Night.[17]
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Unique Physiology: Nekron is a the personification of the absence of life and existence or the void before anything was. This gives him tremendous power as he is able to draw strength from the infinite abyss of darkness that predates existence along with the energy released at the time of death by beings he or his Black Lanterns kills. He is so powerful he can withstand an attack from the Anti-Monitor while sending him back to the anti-matter universe.
Immortality: Since he is not alive in the sense that we understand it, Nekron is technically incapable of being killed. As such, defeating him is extremely difficult; if defeated he will simply return to the Land of the Unliving.
Necromancy:Nekron's position as the Lord of the Unliving gave him a great number of powers that related to death itself.
Dark Lightning: He has the ability to fire bolts of a force called dark lightning from his hands, powerful enough to hurt and even kill the Guardians of the Universe. Despite being immensely powerful, it is not unstoppable. Wonder Woman was able to block it with her bracelets, although the force still threw her across the room.
Necrotic Empowerment: Nekron gains physical strength from the deaths he causes.
Reanimation: As the Lord of the Unliving, Nekron can reanimate corpses into fully functioning zombies working entirely under his control, and retaining semblance of their past personality.
Fatal Touch: The sustained touch of Nekron's hand can chill any mortal being to death, through supernatural means.
Reality Manipulation
Weaknesses
Dependency: For all his power, Nekron holds one great weakness: he cannot exist in this universe. In order to properly interact with the living, Nekron requires a link between between New Earth and the Land of the Unliving, such as a tear in space-time, or a mortal link such as Black Hand.

Notes
Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
There is an unrelated monster named Nekron who fought the original Justice League of America.[18]
Trivia
It has been confirmed in official sources that his name is pronounced NEHK-Ron.[19]

Superhuman Strength
Superhuman Durability

Self-Sustenance: So long as Hippolyta stays on Themyscira, she does not require food, water or any other form of nourishment to maintain her health and vitality. Although they are not susceptible to the throes of hunger, this does not mean that Amazons don't consume food for enjoyment. The Amazons frequently hold great festivals whereupon food is served.

Origins
Hippolyta's history begins tens of thousands of years ago. In ancient times, there was a caveman who--embittered over being maimed by a tiger and driven from his tribe--encountered a woman in a cave and brutally murdered her after she offered him some compassion: the first woman murdered by a man's hatred.
Thousands of years later, the Greek pantheon held a meeting around 1,300 B.C., convened by the goddesses. They desired to create a race of humans that would champion their ideals. Zeus, in his arrogance, decreed that mankind would never forget the gods, and that it did not matter if there were champions or not. Ares, being the god of war, did not desire anyone promoting peace. The other male gods did not seem interested, and Hera did not wish to go against her husband. Therefore, it fell to the other five primary Greek goddesses. Traveling into the Underworld, the goddess came to the Well of Souls, the place where the souls of all the women murdered by mans hatred were gathered. They drew forth these souls, dropping them like great tears into a lake in Greece--all save one, a very special soul. The souls mixed with the clay and stone of the lake bed to form the Amazons, women reborn. The first to emerge from the waters was Hippolyta--the second would be her sister, Antiope. The goddesses made themselves known to the Amazons, appointing Hippolyta and Antiope to be the two queens of them. They decreed that the Amazons were to spread the message of Gaea: a message of peace, tolerance, and equality. As a symbol of their devotion, Hippolyta and Antiope were each given a Golden Girdle.
Hippolyta and Antiope lead the Amazons for years, creating a great city called Themyscira. It's unclear if the Amazons aged at first, or how much time elapsed, but it seems from the evidence that perhaps twenty years go by, as Antiope has a daughter, Pythia. Their efforts to spread peace and equality were frustrated, however, as few men trusted them. As the years went by, more and more they remained isolated in their city. Their numbers increased by freeing women from slavery.
Doom would come to the city in the form of Heracles, the Son of Zeus. In the midst of his Twelve Labors, still suffering from Hera's madness upon him, Heracles and his friend Theseus came to the Amazons. One of Heracles's Labors was to retrieve the Girdle of Hippolyta. Arriving at the Amazon city with an army behind them, Heracles demanded Hippolyta surrender the Girdle. Hippolyta refused, marching out of the city and offering to fight Heracles for it. Heracles was defeated by the Amazon Queen, and the humbled demi-god offered peace and to unite with the Amazons in an alliance. The Amazons let Heracles and his men into the city, and a night of revelry ensued. Antiope fell helplessly in love with Theseus, and Hippolyta fell for Heracles pretty hard--too hard. In his madness, Heracles drugged Hippolyta, raping and assaulting her in her slumber. And when she awoke she was in chains. Heracles' army bound, beat, and raped the Amazons, tearing down their city and stealing their treasures. Heracles left the city with Hippolyta's girdle and some of his men, leaving the majority behind to guard the Amazons. Theseus was gone as well, although it's not clear if he participated in the raping and pillaging or if he left beforehand.
After a vision of one of the goddesses let her find her strength, Hippolyta broke out of her cell and set to work freeing her sisters. More and more Amazons were freed, and a running battle began all over the city. Hippolyta watched as many of her sisters succumbed to bloodlust, enjoying the bloody slaughter of the men. They fought until all the men lie dead. Afterwards, Antiope was still enraged--she insisted that they march on Athens itself, killing all in their path until they reached Athens where they could take back the Girdle from Heracles' dead hand.
But Hippolyta said no--she said that such a path of bloody revenge was not the Amazon way, and that to go down that way would lead only to destruction. Antiope could not be strayed--feeling betrayed by not only her lover but by her gods, she cast her Girdle at Hippolyta's feet, declaring that henceforth she asked nothing of Olympus. Half the Amazons left with her--the other half stayed with Hippolyta. It was the last time the sisters would ever see each other.
In the midst of the ruins, the goddesses now appeared again. They were displeased with the Amazons, declaring that they had failed in their sacred mission--now the very name "Amazon" would be associated with death and destruction, not peace and equality. The Amazons must have a penance. They were each given a pair of steel "bracelets" to wear at all times, forever a reminder of their capture and humiliation. Then their bodies and souls were purified, and they began their journey. Poseidon himself parted the sea, and the Amazons walked along the bottom until they came to an island that the gods had removed from the circles of the world--Paradise Island. There they built the new city-state of Themyscira, and were to be the guardians of a great evil that lay beneath the Island. As long as they remained on the island, they would be immortal--though they could be killed, and some were over the many long years and the many battles they had to fight against the evil that would try to escape. For over 3,000 years, here they remained, with Hippolyta their queen all that time.
From time to time, there would be a visitor who breached the mists that shielded the island. One of these would be Diana Trevor, a woman who crash landed her small plane on the shores of the island some time after World War II. Diana Tevor arrived while the Amazons were in the midst of a battle with the evil from the Pits beneath the island, and she valiantly fought at their side. She fired the crucial shot from her firearm that won the battle, although she lost her life in the process.
Not long after Diana Trevor came to the island, Hippolyta began to feel a deep yearning she could not explain. The Oracle of the Island had the answer--Hippolyta was the reincarnation of the first woman who had been murdered, and that woman was pregnant with a daughter. The longing Hippolyta felt was for her unborn child. The Oracle told her that the goddesses would grant her longing. Hippolyta went to the beach, and molded a baby from the sand and clay of the island. Then five goddesses and one god went back into the Underworld, drawing out the last soul that remained in the Well and giving it incredible powers. The soul was merged with the clay and became flesh. Hippolyta had her daughter, and named her in honor of Diana Trevor--Diana, Princess of the Amazons.
Diana grew up with one mother and thousands of sisters--but no children her own age. When she was young, the sorceress Magala used her magic to create a magical copy of Diana to be her playmate. Unfortunately, one of Hippolyta's enemies, Dark Angel, came to the island planning to kidnap Diana. She found the copy instead, and thinking that was Diana, she kidnapped her instead. That child was Donna Troy. After Donna's disappearance, Hippolyta became more protective of her daughter, often coming to check on her at random, even after Diana had fully grown up.
After Diana turned twenty-two, the Oracle of the Island came to Hippolyta with a new message. The gods demanded that the Amazons send a champion to what the Amazons' called "Man's World". Hippolyta called for a contest to determine who would go, but she forbid Diana from competing. Diana did it anyway, and no one knew until the Contest was over, as all the contestants were required to wear masks during the tests. Hippolyta could not deny Diana's place, and so after passing one final test, Diana was given a costume.

The NEW Golden Age Wonder Woman
The Crisis on Infinite Earths leaves many problems for the resulting survivors of the singular earth. Even the Amazons are not protected as Donna Troy, Wonder Woman's younger sister, has been erased from history but still exists in the reformatted new Earth. Wally West and Wonder Woman confront the woman who they know but no one else does and begin a quest to restore the Donna Troy they knew. Confronting Hippolyta on the events of Donna, Hippolyta reveals Donna's true origin as a mystically created twin playmate for Princess Diana. The alternate warped version of Troy known as Dark Angel abducted Donna thinking her to be the original Diana and cursed her to live multiple tragic lives, one of which was as Donna Troy.
Hippolyta, along with Jay Garrick, travels back into the past to stabilize the current reality of Troy as Wonder Girl and correct some of the problems of the time stream caused by Dark Angel's presence in the past. It was during this time that Hippolyta becomes the Golden Age Wonder Woman native to the new reality and joins the Justice Society of America during the team's original days. Hippolyta, as the "new" Golden Age Wonder Woman, along with the Justice Society, defeats Dark Angel. Hippolyta remains there until approximately 1950 when she returns to the present with the help of a Jay Garrick from the future.

Dethronement and Death
Upon Hippolyta's return to the present time, she had found her time away from the Amazon and her royal duties had allowed a break to happen between the Amazon groups. While many outsiders had thought of the Amazons as one singular group of women, the truth of the Amazonian society did have individual groups. One of those groups, the Bana Mighdall Amazons, felt that Hippolyta had given up her right to rule by willingly abandon her throne to fight in Man's world, even though she was originally forced into the role by the Olympian gods. Even her direct Themyscira Amazons couldn't justify her continuing neglect of her royal duties as the Queen of the Amazons for the length of time that Hippolyta had remained away from the Amazons and began to turn away from her. Seeing that she was losing support and her own desire for battle increasing, Hippolyta relinquished her throne and went back into the outside to fight alongside her daughter as a second Wonder Woman, after suggesting that Diana and her saved sister, Donna Troy, rule over the Amazons. Hippolyta's two daughters refused to rule and the various factions were not able to choose and successor satisfactory to all the groups. Ultimately the Amazons decided to abolish the Amazon monarchy system for individual self-rule.
Finding her place as an active warrior and part-time member of the reformed Justice Society, Hippolyta carried on as the "other" Wonder Woman until the "Worlds at War" happened. During one of the cosmic invader Imperiex's attempts to destroy Earth, the Amazons became involved in the planet's defense. Hippolyta fought against an Imperiex probe and was barely able to stop it by herself. When Diana arrived at the battle scene she rescued her mother and ordered the weaker Wonder Woman to leave. But Hippolyta remained defiant despite her weaker power and safeguarded her daughter by throwing Diana out of the way when the Imperiex probe threaten to destroy Diana and all around them. The probe exploded killing only Hippolyta.

One Year Later revival
Hippolyta is brought back to life by the immortal witch Circe who shows the revived Hippolyta that the USA has kidnapped her daughter Diana and was being tortured until she gave over the plans on how the U.S. government could create their own Purple Ray to be used as a weapon. Enraged by Circe's vision and accepting them as real, Hippolyta declared control over all of the Amazons to rescue Diana and attain vengeance on the outside world she had once cherished. Confronting her daughter who had gone underground, Hippolyta decided to continue the battle regardless and slaughtered many males, even unarmed boys. Finding her actions completely out of character for the former Wonder Woman, Diana and Donna Troy discovered that Circe had revived Hippolyta as an extension of herself by placing a portion of her own soul into Hippolyta.
As Hippolyta's persona was modified to now be a composite of her former self and that of Circe, the revived Hippolyta was far more destructive than ever before even to the point that she defended Circe against her daughters. It is not until Circe was rendered impotent temporarily, and the magical influence over Hippolyta's mind is removed does Hippolyta regain her more calm center and end the Amazonian war. Athena makes herself known to Hippolyta and the Amazons and decides to punish them all for their part in the war by removing all the Amazons' powers and memories and scattering them across the Earth to live out their shortened lives as human women.
Hippolyta also stripped of her powers but restored to immortality for an unending punishment is forced to rule over an empty Paradise Island except for four bound Amazons who unless all forgive her will never be able to reclaim their memory and powers. Currently, Hippolyta spends her days seeking their redemption in the hopes of rebuilding Paradise Island and returning the Amazons to their previous status. It has been revealed that the current Athena is in reality Granny Goodness who has succeeded the original Athena after the fall of the New Gods.

And she is defined by a bitter, vengeful desire for social revenge and showing the world who’s the boss and who’s the bitch. She’s a user and a predator, desiring to be as independent and high-status as possible, through both money and influence.Sofen is proud of having neither morals nor ethics. She sees those as yet another set of constraints that only applies to suckers with a less prodigious IQ than her own. She regrets nothing and stops at nothing. Her only goal is to make it big. She’s greedy, and very open about it.But she is also smart and disciplined enough than it doesn’t constitute an Irrational Attraction in game terms. It was a while before she began to want to change. Or before she admitted it to herself, anyway. She seemed to initially stay with the others for the safety of numbers. The desire to redeem herself was so different from her normal way of being and thinking that it took a long time, and intervention by an alien intelligence, to make her understand that she actually wanted it. She never quite got the being a hero part though. Karla constantly questioned herself about whether she was simply doing what others wanted her to. Her superiority and need for independence make it difficult for her to ask others for help.  She developed a big-sisterly affection for Jolt, and romantic feelings towards Hawkeye, both of which could have influenced her path.Indeed, she worried it was Hawkeye’s influence in particular which had guided her down this path. This doubt may have stopped her being as committed to the relationship as she might otherwise have been. » ━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━ « 【 Background History 】 Karla grew up in the mansion of a Hollywood producer, the child of a butler. After her father died, her mother worked three jobs to put her daughter through college, and Karla vowed never to end up like her mother, to never put another’s needs before her own. Despite building a successful psychological practice, Karla so disliked being dependent on her patients for income that she entered the super-criminal world as an aide to Doctor Faustus. Learning of Moonstone (Lloyd Bloch), she became his psychologist and manipulated him into rejecting the source of his powers, an extraterrestrial gem of considerable power, which she then absorbed to gain the powers of Moonstone. Karla worked briefly for the Corporation, controlling the Hulk and manipulating General “Thunderbolt” Ross into a nervous breakdown. She continued to pursue greater power, stealing Curt Connors’ Enervator and searching the moon’s surface for further moonstone fragments. First Egghead and then Baron Zemo recruited Moonstone for their Masters of Evil, and she aided each against the Avengers. After the last of these fights, she decided to serve out her prison term and give up her criminal life. However, when Zemo formed a group of villains to masquerade as heroes, he broke Moonstone out of the Vault and she returned to villainy as the Thunderbolt Meteorite. Upon encountering a young victim of Arnim Zola’s genetic manipulations, a youngster by the name of Jolt, Moonstone nudged Zemo into accepting her in the team. She soon became a mother figure to Jolt and used her enthusiasm to create a power-base inside the team, rallying the others behind her. Zemo exposed the true nature of the team, but Moonstone opposed him, followed by MACH-1, Songbird, and Jolt. Zemo had brainwashed the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, but the small team of Thunderbolts, with the help of Iron Man, was able to defeat Zemo and Techno, his ally. After the battle the Thunderbolts had decided to pay for their crimes, but they were unwittingly teleported to an alternate dimension. In this world, known as Kosmos, Moonstone led the team to safety from the Kosmosian army and eventually executed the Kosmosian Primotur to ensure their return to Earth. Inspired by Jolt, she made the Thunderbolts see that it would be preferable to work for their redemption as heroes, rather than to be in jail. After gaining fake identities for the team, she led them away from S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Lightning Rods, and she managed to defeat Graviton using her psychological skills, making him see that he did not truly have a goal, that he lacked vision . However, the Thunderbolts disagreed with her, for she merely thought of the present and did not care for the future consequences of her actions. When the former Avenger known as Hawkeye joined the team, claiming they would be pardoned if they followed him, she stepped down as leader and allowed him to get the position. Soon after the Thunderbolts fought the new Masters of Evil, a veritable army of supervillains, and Moonstone decided to betray the team. But something inside of her snapped, and she defeated Crimson Cowl and returned to the team. Weeks after, Graviton returned, having pondered the words of Karla. He took over the city of San Francisco, turning it into an island in the skies. Thunderbolts attempted to stop him, but they were captured. Graviton offered Moonstone a place at his side, as his queen, but she laughed in his face. As the youngest members of the team saved them, Moonstone wondered why she didn’t take Graviton’s offer. During a mission against the Secret Empire, she become romantically involved with Hawkeye. But as time went by, she became haunted by nightmares of an ancient alien warrior woman, who whispered in her thoughts. Soon after, the team was targeted by Scourge, who killed Jolt. The death of the youngster hit Karla deeply. Subsequently, Citizen V asked for help against her own team, the V-Battalion, and the Thunderbolts agreed to do so, engaging the V-Battalion’s operatives in battle. Karla was torn about fighting them, for they were heroes. She released a surge of her powers to stop the fight, making them all intangible, and fled, trying to find out what was wrong with her. Her first stop was Attilan, but the Inhumans were gone. She then searched the Fantastic Four’s computers and found the answer she was looking for. She flew under her own power to the Blue Area of the Moon, where she sought the Kree Supreme Intelligence and demanded the truth. The Supreme Intelligence revealed to her that the fragment she referred to as the “Moonstone” was part of a Kree Lifestone, which used to empower the Guardians of the Galaxy centuries ago. The alien warrior woman that haunted her dreams was the previous owner of the moonstone, whose memory was etched into it, and kept steering Karla into the path of heroism. The Thunderbolts managed to catch up with her, and so did Captain Marvel, who offered her help. Led by Captain Marvel, the Thunderbolts went to Titan, where Mentor and ISAAC attempted to remove the moonstone from Karla’s body. After a serious discussion about Karla’s potential to do good, Mentor allowed her to keep the gem but erased the memory of the previous owner, leaving Karla’s mind, and by consequence, her decisions, to herself. The team returned to Earth, only to find Jolt alive. She exposed Hawkeye, revealing the pardons Hawkeye promised would not be honored. Soon, the Thunderbolts chased Scourge, who was being manipulated by Henry Peter Gyrich. Thunderbolts fought the V-Battalion’s Redeemers but eventually teamed up with them to defeat Gyrich, who was being manipulated as well. Valerie Cooper offered the Thunderbolts pardon for saving the world from her own people, with the condition that they would hang up their heroic identities forever. Karla Sofen was soon contacted by Graviton, who hired her as a tutor. In the following weeks Karla helped Graviton understand and control his powers in ways he had not even dreamed, making him fall in love with her. Graviton soon attacked the Redeemers, slaughtering the team. He also managed to keep many of Earth’s heroes unmoving in the sky, as he lifted hundreds of cities all over the world as well, for he wanted to reshape the face of Earth into a semblance of his face. The Thunderbolts re-formed to stop him, only to find Karla at his side. In the end, she hesitated fighting them and helped them stop Graviton. However, his power imploded, sending most of the Thunderbolts to Counter-Earth. While trapped on Counter-Earth, the Thunderbolts became true heroes at last, rescuing thousands in their flying city, Attilan. Karla was given the task of reshaping the minds of the world’s leaders, creating a new way of thought to ensure the survival of all. Soon after, Karla removed a second moonstone from that world’s Lloyd Bloch (known there as the Phantom Eagle), dramatically increasing her own powers. The Thunderbolts eventually returned to Earth, leaving Jolt and the Young Allies to complete their task of saving Counter-Earth. When the Avengers later interfered in the Thunderbolts’ plan to control the world’s “transnormal energy”, a failsafe was triggered– a device that Karla had planted in her private plot against Zemo. The stolen energy was funneled into her moonstones, further increasing her powers. Karla attempted to use this energy to flee, but the Thunderbolts and Avengers combined forces to stop her. In the end, Zemo ended up in possession of both moonstones and Karla was left comatose. After recovering, Karla reunited with the Thunderbolts first with Zemo then under the leadership of Norman Osborn. Eventually she took the mantle of Ms. Marvel when Osborn created his version of the Avengers. Once that venture failed miserably, after the siege of Asgard, Karla found herself back in the Raft prison, but again she was allowed to participate in the Thunderbolts program now led by Luke Cage. » ━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━ « 【 Abilities 】 The Moonstone embedded in Karla’s body works through manipulation of gravity, and gives her a large toolbox of powers. She has high level super strength, speed, and durability. She is able to manipulate her density and the density of objects around her, allowing her to become intangible and phase through objects and attacks. She can manipulate gravity directly, using it to bend light (making her invisible), increase the gravitational pull of things around her, absorb energy, and even teleport. She can project beams of light as powerful lasers or simply emit bright light to blind opponents. She is a brilliant psychologist and uses her insight and way with words to get into the minds of her opponents in the middle of fights and effectively manipulate them Along with this ability, Karla also has perfect control over her voice. She can alter her pitch and modulation to varying degrees to literally drive a man crazy, as shown with what she did to Red-Hulk.. She is a skilled fighter and can fly at high speeds. She can generate and alter her costume at will, and can regenerate from wounds at a heightened rate. » ━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━ « 【 Themes 】 ❦ A Beautiful Lie [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Kvd-uquuhI ] ❦ Pray 【https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLwKCdxN9vk 】 » ━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━۵━ « [| Admin’s introduction |] [| Hello, I see you’ve stumbled unto this other account of mine, whereby I roleplay as the human mutate who happens to be a hero/ villain  Karla . A Cycle of Revenge
Are you living a reactive life or are you moving towards a worthwhile goal?
Samson is not the leader Israel needs, but he seems to be the leader they deserve since just like Israel, he disregards his special status before God.
Welcome to part 3 of my series on Samson. This post should stand alone just fine, but the context always adds to the experience so if you missed my previous posts on this series you can go to Samson part 1; Samson part 2.
In this post, I will explore Judges 15 and we pick up the story with Samson returning to visit his wife (for my post on Judges 14 check out “I Don’t See a Problem”).
Honey, I’m home!
After a while, in the time of wheat harvest, it happened that Samson visited his wife with a young goat. And he said, “Let me go in to my wife, into her room.” But her father would not permit him to go in. - 1 Samuel 15:1 NKJV
The text does not make it clear how much time has gone by since Sansom angrily left for his father’s house (Judges 14:19) but Samson eventually cools his head and decides to visit his wife. Surprisingly his father-in-law does not allow Samson to come in. If you read chapter 14 you know what took place and have been anticipating his reaction. Let’s refresh our minds with the last verse of the previous chapter.
And Samson’s wife was given to his companion, who had been his best man. Judges 14:20 NKJV
Oh man, this will not end well.
They started it!
Her father said, “I really thought that you thoroughly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister better than she? Please, take her instead.”
And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be blameless regarding the Philistines if I harm them!”  - Judges 15:2-3NKJV
I try to imagine Samson’s father-in-law as he broke the news to Samson. I imagine his voice cracking, his knees shaking, while he nervously wrings his hands. How do you tell someone who killed 30 guys for their clothing and killed a lion with his bare hands (Judges 14) that you gave his wife to someone else? He immediately tries to make things better by offering Samson his younger daughter claiming she is even better than her older sister.
Samson is not interested in marrying his previous wife’s younger sister, instead, he sees this as a legitimate reason to maybe harm some Philistines. I find this so interesting, it is like Samson is not sure what he will do yet, but he figures it’s okay even if he harms some Philistines in the process since they started it. Samson is not going to attack the Philistines because they are oppressing his people, or because that is the reason why he was born (Parenting and Potential), but because his wife had been given to another. Samson feels like he was done wrong, and now he can’t be blamed if he harms some Philistines as he plans to take revenge for what was done to him.
Fire!
Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails. When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves. - Judges 15:4-5 NKJV
Now it becomes clear why the storyteller begins the story announcing that it was the time of the wheat harvest. Samson’s revenge is described in rapid succession of verbs indicating that this was not very difficult for him. He likely set up traps and caught 300 jackals since the Hebrew word is used for both foxes and jackals and jackals were more common in Palestine, and also foxes are solitary animals. (Block, Daniel Isaac. Judges, Ruth. Broadman & Holman, 1999. p441)
It is a great mystery how Samson managed to do this, but this is also a man who killed a lion with his bare hands so we should not be too surprised I guess. Samson singlehandedly caused the Philistine economy crash while simultaneously causing a food shortage. I wonder if at this point the Philistines would classify Samson as a walking natural disaster.
More fire!
Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?”
And they answered, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” So the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire. - Judges 15:6 NKJV (bold mine)
The Philistines launch an investigation to find the cause of the fire and realize it was Samson. They also discovered it was because the Timnite had given away Samson’s wife. At this point, the Philistines decide it would be easier to deal with him than to face Samson. It is worth mentioning that the Philistines had threatened to do this earlier in this story.
But it came to pass on the seventh day that they said to Samson’s wife, “Entice your husband, that he may explain the riddle to us, or else we will burn you and your father’s house with fire. Have you invited us in order to take what is ours? Is that not so?” -Judges 14:15 NKJV bold mine
Samson’s wife, trying to avoid being burned betrayed her husband and did what the Philistines asked of her. In my post on that chapter, I pointed out how she could have come to Samson and told him everything and asked for his protection. Instead, she let fear, instead of love, control her life choices. Ironically, her choice to betray Samson eventually lead to the exact outcome she was trying to avoid. I believe this illustrates how sometimes we are afraid of trusting God and instead choose what seems like the easier road, the path of least resistance, only to find out it is not as safe as it seemed.
It may seem like a bit of a stretch, but follow along with me. There are people who reject the will of God for their lives, they resist accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior because of their boss, or school, or sports, or spouse, or significant other, or family, only to find out that those people do not value them as much as they hoped. The boss still fires them or overlooks them for the promotion, the spouse becomes abusive or is not as loving and supportive as expected, you suffer an injury and your team drops you, or you lose your scholarship, or you get sick and suddenly you find yourself alone.
I am not saying that Samson is Jesus, but I believe Samson was able to protect his wife from the Philistines. I believe the principle to be the same. God is able to provide for us and to protect us. So it is not a good idea to ever allow anything to come between you and Jesus, between you and God’s plan for your life. We know for sure that God loves us. Jesus’ death on the cross makes this perfectly clear. God is also able and willing to supply all your needs. So if you ever have to make a choice between God and anything else in this world, I would strongly recommend that you choose God!
My turn!
Samson said to them, “Since you would do a thing like this, I will surely take revenge on you, and after that I will cease.” So he attacked them hip and thigh with a great slaughter; then he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock of Etam. - Judges 15:7-8 NKJV (bold mine)
Samson does not approve of how the Philistines handled the situation and feels like he ought to make this clear by attacking them. Samson naively thought this would put an end to the cycle of revenge. So he goes down to dwell in the cleft of a rock.
War?
Now the Philistines went up, encamped in Judah, and deployed themselves against Lehi. And the men of Judah said, “Why have you come up against us?”
So they answered, “We have come up to arrest Samson, to do to him as he has done to us.” - Judges 15:9-10 NKJV
The Philistines realize they will need an army to deal with Samson and so they gather their troops and deploy against Israel. This is where we would expect Israel to gather their army and ask Samson to lead them in a battle against the Philistines. This is where I would expect Samson to finally begin to behave as a judge and experience glorious military victory just like the previous judges did before him. But that is not exactly what happens next.
Plot Twist!
Then three thousand men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, “Do you not know that the Philistines rule over us? What is this you have done to us?”
And he said to them, “As they did to me, so I have done to them.”
But they said to him, “We have come down to arrest you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines.”
Then Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not kill me yourselves.”
So they spoke to him, saying, “No, but we will tie you securely and deliver you into their hand; but we will surely not kill you.” And they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock. - Judges 15:11-13NKJV
3,000 men from Judah gather, but not to fight against the Philistine army. They gather to bind Samson and hand him over to the enemy. Instead of rallying to defend their countryman, instead of asking Samson to lead them in battle, they behave like dutiful subordinates to the Philistines. The children of Israel are willing to sacrifice the divinely appointed leader to preserve the status quo. What an odd situation, the Judahites (members of the tribe of Judah (one of the tribes of Israel)) and the Philistines allied against Samson, God’s chosen leader and deliverer.
Samson is bound with two new ropes, demonstrating they do not mean for him to be able to escape. This detail also heightens the tension and sets the stage for the next scene in the story.
Warning: Severe Violence Ahead
When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting against him. Then the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him; and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that is burned with fire, and his bonds broke loose from his hands. He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand and took it, and killed a thousand men with it. - Judges 15:14-15 NKJV
God is not done with Samson. Samson is flawed, yes, deeply so. Samson was betrayed by God’s people. There’s an army of enemies just waiting to kill Samson. But none of that matters because Samson’s work is not yet finished, God still has a work for Samson to accomplish.
When God has work for you to accomplish not even an army can stop you.
It is also interesting to notice how the text describes Samson using a fresh Jawbone of a donkey, which would mean it’s part of a corpse, which also would be a violation of the Nazirite vow. But God still blesses Samson and grants him an incredible victory over the Philistine army.
Poetry time!
Then Samson said:
“With the jawbone of a donkey, Heaps upon heaps, With the jawbone of a donkey I have slain a thousand men!”
And so it was, when he had finished speaking, that he threw the jawbone from his hand, and called that place Ramath Lehi. - Judges 15:16-17 NKJV
It is difficult to appreciate translated poetry.
With a donkey’s jawbone, a heap, two heaps; With a donkey’s jawbone, I have killed a thousand men.
Samson made excellent use of poetic parallelism and effective wordplay. The Hebrew word for “donkey” and “heap” are spelled the same. (ibid. p.445-446) However, when we compare Samson’s poem/song with the song of Deborah (Judges 5) we notice a stark contrast since Samson takes all the credit for his victory. Samson even names the place Ramath Lehi or “Jawbone Hill.” Samson does not want to be forgotten and he names the hill where he made a hill with the bodies of the Philistines he killed.
Praying to God
Then he became very thirsty; so he cried out to the Lord and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant; and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?” So God split the hollow place that is in Lehi, and water came out, and he drank; and his spirit returned, and he revived. Therefore he called its name En Hakkore, which is in Lehi to this day. And he judged Israel twenty years in the days of the Philistines. - Judges 15:18-20NKJV
Samson finally prays. This is Samson’s first recorded prayer. However, the reason for his prayer is not a national emergency, but rather a personal crisis. Samson is thirsty. He finally admits that God is the One responsible for his great victory, and even identifies himself as God’s servant. Interestingly, the title Yahweh’s “servant” was ascribed to Moses in Joshua 1:1. God’s response is also reminiscent of Exodus 17:6 and Numbers 20:10-13 which are two instances that God brought water out of the rock through Moses. So the story now seems to identify Samson with Moses. I find this odd, but I a reminded that this story is not so much about Samson as it is about a merciful and loving God who is willing to use flawed humans and work miracles.
Samson’s prayer is completely selfish yet God hears and works a miracle. Samson of course does not waste this opportunity to name this place “En Hakkore” which is ambiguous but could be translated as “the spring of the caller” or “the spring of the namer.” Either way, the name seems to point not to God who is powerful and merciful but rather to the powerful man who is able to move the hand of God. (ibid. 447) This name remained at least until the time this account of the story was written down.
Apparently, after this victory, Samson was recognized as a judge, but there is no mention of there being rest for the land as was mentioned for earlier Judges (see Judges 3:11,30; 5:31).
Conclusion and Practical Application
What I take away from this story is that God is merciful and powerful and willing to deliver his people and use Samson to do so. I also can’t help but notice how undeserving we are of the blessings we receive from God. How often we behave selfishly, preferring the status quo than beginning a revolution for God. How often our prayers are selfish and how many times we believe that we are controlling God through our prayers and that everything He does is for us when in reality He wants to use us to bless those around us.
What I take away from this story is the importance of knowing and recognizing God’s will and plan for our lives, lest we, like Samson, go through life simply reacting to personal slights and our personal ambition with no regard for those around us. Samson could have done so much good if he had embraced God’s mission for his life. God did not abandon Samson, but Samson missed out on what his life could have been. I don’t want to make the same mistake. I want to live for God, seeking His will daily.
I want to encourage, and challenge you to do the same

Kit Imane
Audience: Teenagers, specifically those who are into fantasy/adventure stories
Setting: Macalgia, a parallel world of Earth where Pangaea did not break apart, magic exists, and humanity is one of six intellectual species. Thanks to five deities using their powers to immobilize Macalgia’s tectonic plates, the dimensional barrier between Earth and Macalgia have weaken. This has allowed humans in Macalgia to discover Earth a few decades before the start of the main story. Although the knowledge of Earth have been kept from the public, certain inhabitants of Macalgia used magic to take objects, such as computers, that did not exist in their world. As such, people on Macalgia can communicate with people on Earth through the Internet.
Hi! This is D with your profile review. Kit's full profile and review are under the cut.
A civil war is threatening to break apart the only “human” country. A large number of people have lost faith in the royal family. United under the Cursed Lord, the Rebel Army needs a plan to overthrow the current king. In order to gain new ideas and technology, the Rebel Army decides to summon inhabitants of Earth. They ended up with five teenage girls, thanks to ignoring a myth of their world’s Pied Piper. (130 children from a foreign world were once summoned by the oldest goddess of Macalgia. She hoped to eventually integrate both worlds, but was eventually forced to send back the children after a year. These children kept the language, and resistance to Macalgian diseases, granted by the goddess.) This OC is one of the five foreign humans, all of whom were parts of the 130 children.
Purpose: A protagonist of an original story (that will hopefully be morally gray)
Additional Details: I am sorry if this is too long, I tried to shorten it to the basics without creating plot holes. I cut the things that are not as relevant to Kit’s central development (or to understanding the setting), so some things like the “beast pill” may sound odd. Their origin and purpose matter more to other main characters’ background/storyline, so I did not include it. Do you think that Kit is relatable/developed enough to be a main character? Also, based on Kit’s storyline, would you ever be interested in reading the story/the rest of this universe? Thank you
 Content:
Appearance: Kit is a 5’ teenager (12 at the beginning, 16 by the end of this story line) with dark brown eyes and long hair that reaches her waist. She is normally seen wearing a over-sized hoodie or coat with black dress pants. Like most people in Macalgia, Kit also carries around a weapon of choice (two swords in her case, although Kit is below-average in swordsmanship). After accepting a “beast pill,” orange and brown-striped cat ears sprout from her messy, light brown hair. Her unnaturally long, thin striped tail is usually curls like a snake around her right leg.
Personality: Kit is well-mannered, shy, and quiet, although she is not as passive as she tries to be. Given her sensitive and clingy personality, Kit is extremely attached to her friends and the people she finds interesting. She treats them the way she (subconsciously and consciously) wants to be treated, which involves being overprotected and doted on, making some feel that Kit believes they cannot protect themselves. While polite to most, Kit is also critical and distrustful of strangers, especially when they are friends of her friends due to jealousy and fear of getting tossed aside. She has really high expectations for people, particularly herself, which makes her prone to escapism, manipulation, and lying.
With her head often in the clouds, Kit is imaginative and artistically inclined. She is also very unathletic due to laziness (which partly stems from a desire to balance out her athletic best friend). Naturally playful – with a subconscious desire to unique and special – Kit tries to be unpredictable and amusing (often by imitating her favorite characters or tropes) around her friends, which often makes her come off as plain weird or geeky/nerdy.
Kit avoids looking into people’s eyes, so she keeps her head down or looks at something else while talking to other people (including friends she idolizes). She does not speak until a cue is given, whether it is silence or a command. She also tends to flinch away from strangers while staring at them with a bewildered or wary expression (a territorial glare in Kit’s mind).
Background/Story line: Kit is an undocumented immigrant who moved to the U.S. when she was a child. She loved fantasy/adventure anime and games, especially when it involves the “trapped in another world” trope. Kit wanted to be special like main characters, so she decided to change herself after feeling left out by her group of friends (which she thought only formed around her best and only friend). Her desire was to belong like everyone else. However, in an attempt to dye her hair, Kit accidentally spilled hair dye bleach onto said best friend– turning her hair white. In guilt and shame, Kit stopped instigating any conversation with all four of her friends, but was dismayed when her friends did not try hard to involve her in their conversations or activities. She wished upon a star for an adventure which could fix all of her friendships like in anime, and ended up getting one.
Trapped in Macalgia with the four friends, Kit tried to impress her friends by being genre-savvy (in both anime and undocumented immigration) but soon felt overshadowed by the couple who took all of them in (when the wife figured out they came from Earth). The couple had provided for all of their needs, and even enrolled them in a 2-year training academy to prepare them for their new world. Yet, when the whole town was killed by the Cursed Lord’s army, Kit was more bothered by her friends’ tears than the couple’s death. To her shame, Kit also knew she was even more bothered by the fact that the holy sword (which had been protected by the couple and the goal of the attack on the town) chose her best friend, not her.
In order to accept that she can never be as talented or popular as her friends even in this world, Kit praised and tried her best to support her friends at every opportunity. In order to avoid potential resentment, she also denied or downplayed any compliments to her skills in image summoning (a type of magic that materializes the summoner’s conscious thoughts as long as he/she can project and control the image in his/her mind). She hoped they would recognize and appreciate her loyalty and efforts, but when the group starts to fall apart due to conflicting goals, Kit slowly began to favor her summons because they are completely in her control.
Unwilling to give up on her friendships and ideals, however, Kit entered all of them into a fighting tournament. She convinced them with a speech about how they needed to raise funds for their goal, whether it end up being revenge for the couple or returning to Earth. While she chose the tournament because the mysterious egg prize interested her, Kit also made sure to form two teams: she and her friends on one team, her friends’ friends on the other team. When questioned, she explained that she divided them based on experiences and skill sets.
Out of everything she considered, Kit did not expect to meet up with what she believed to be her group’s arch-enemies: Cursed Lord, who turned out to be a teenager like them. Since her friends hated him at first sight, due to having caused the massacre of the town, Kit tried to feel the same way. She ended up getting lured to his side. In addition to telling her that she was special and that he wanted to become her friend, he gave her a rare “beast pill.” Lured by the promise of gaining cat ears and tail, in addition to power, Kit accepted and fell into a coma wrapped in cocoon. When she finally emerged three days later, Kit found out that her team lost an important battle through disqualification (insufficient members). She caused them to lose the first place they deserved.
Furious with herself (since she fell for the lie about the pill’s time requirement), Kit volunteered to participate in the battle royale which would determine second place. Taunted by an opponent, who told her to grow up when he noticed that she gave personalities to her image summons, Kit lost control of her new physical strengths. Drunk on the feeling of superiority, she almost killed the comrade of her opponent (who is a stranger to everyone she knew, unlike the opponent who charmed one of her friends a few days ago). Due to winning the battle royale, Kit’s team won second place, earning the egg and some funds.
When Kit found that her friends were indeed horrified with her new self, Kit thought about becoming a “solo player.” She decided against it because of the egg. It would be better if the creature could be raised and protected by her friends too. However, due to plans Kit could not agree with (handing over the egg to someone who wanted to destroy it because Kit almost killed him), she decided to escape with the egg. Since she had nowhere else to go, Kit ended up as a puppet/pet of the Cursed Lord.
After a few months in which she could only interact with her summons and the Cursed Lord, Kit decided she was fine with that – as long as she was his only “beloved pet.” Though Kit claimed she had enough of one-sided friendships, she used her summons to keep tracts of her Earthling friends. Kit was able to do this because her subconscious maintained those summons out of strong emotions (curiosity, jealousy, and/or concerns for her friends’ safety).
When the civil war finally started a year after she joined the rebels’ army, Kit submissively followed the Cursed Lord’s orders, which ranged from researching online information to slaughtering towns with summoned monsters. Soon, Kit became indifferent to the orders – retreating faraway by imagining that it was only a game, and that she would be forgiven like all those main characters in fiction. It took a in-person confrontation with one of her friends (as well as insults by said friend’s new boyfriend) to remind Kit that she is just running away from reality. Frustrated with the world to the point she could not concentrate enough to summon anything, Kit took the egg out of its incubator and hugged it to sleep. She woke up to a baby chimera licking away her tears, before biting her shoulder.
Through raising the chimera, Kit learned to accept that every creature has their flaws and virtues. As Kit became less self-centered, she started to appreciate people and relationships for what they are. She stopped idealizing the Cursed Lord as the “hero antagonist,” and stopped hoping that her friends would grow to become the “keys to ending the war.” Kit then decided to help everyone she had grown to love without choosing a side. She decided to protect all the places in which she could belong, even if it meant secretly betraying all of them.
To her delight and guilt, Kit’s complete submission and obedience had given her the Cursed Lord’s trust. With access to classified information and strings to pull, Kit decided to become a double agent. Aiding all three fractions involved in the civil war from the shadows, Kit sacrificed hundreds of strangers in order to keep all of her loved ones (now including her friends’ loved ones) alive by the end of the war.
Although she originally did not care whether the Cursed Lord live or die by the end of the war, Kit changed her mind once she found out that he was one of her online friends. Her text conversations with him caused the Cursed Lord to summon them to Macalgia. Grateful for that, Kit came to see the Cursed Lord as a friend she must protect as well.
At the end of the war, the Cursed Lord died. He was killed because of the plan Kit had ignored until she realized she cared. Although she experienced grief and a sense of failure, Kit tried to focus on being grateful that everyone else (the people she knew, even if some of them no longer desire her friendship after learning what she did for “their sake”) made it out alive. She was grateful for peace and missed her parents, but did not want to go back to Earth (where she would be powerless and unwanted by the government anyways). Kit also felt she had fought and sacrificed too much to simply give up her place in Macalgia– even when commanded to do so by its deities. Since Kit could not speak out against the deities or her friends, the most of whom wanted to return to Earth, Kit chose to secretly secure a way back to Macalgia.
Performing a forbidden magic (which she first used for another character near the beginning of the story), Kit summoned the Cursed Lord’s soul. Believing that it would play out like the classic “sharing a body” trope, with the added benefit of being able to use the Cursed Lord’s legendary weapon (which he had used to bring them to Macalgia), Kit did not realize that she would eventually lose her sense of self as her soul merges with the Cursed Lord’s in accordance to universal laws.
Although Kit had been communicating with them regularly through emails (a privilege granted by her position in the Rebel Army), Kit found herself crying as she was embraced by her parents and younger siblings – one of whom was born while she lived in Macalgia. Realizing that she missed four years worth of peace and familial memories (all in exchange for a violent, bittersweet adventure) a small part of Kit wondered if it was truly worth it.
Sidenote: I left out Kit’s impact on the other characters (both positive and negative ones) and some consequences of her actions (e.g. the impact Kit’s animal features have on her school and social life on Earth, the consequences of having a sword in a house with little kids, the strain of keeping a lot of secrets while having to live 24/7 with a male spirit, etc) since those deal more with the post-story or extra materials I might draw.
First things first, Kit's profile could benefit from some significant restructuring. There's a lot of information crammed into not a lot of categories (especially the Background/Story Line section) which makes the profile feel disorganized and meandering. Having more sections with specific coverage would make things easier to read and refer to later, as well as help the explanations and details stick in reader's minds. The SOC blog has a profile temple that provides all of the categories we usually recommend in an established order, if you'd like to reformat Kit's profile using that.
Moving on to the actual substance of the profile, I think Kit will need some serious retooling. As written she comes across as far too passive and self-defeating. She's not very proactive, and the moments of agency she does have all end up turning back on her in some unforeseen failure. While I understand the inspiration from anime-themed tropes and story choices, they don't really pan out in a way that creates much investment. Kit's over obsession with archetypes takes away any realistic perception of the circumstances she's in, and the overall reliance on them for the plot is either too simple or too convoluted to offer much interest. Even for a protagonist as young as Kit it seems very contrived. I'd suggest trimming down the reliance on tropes overall, but especially for Kit herself. Build her up as a more active character, one that is allowed to have some successes surrounding and integrated with her hardships. If all she does in the story is fail and mope about her place in-life, that doesn't really build much for the reader to get invested in (either for Kit herself or the story).
Something that I think would help in that direction is that if Kit were given something she is objectively good at. As written the only thing that Kit is particularly noteworthy at is summons and even that blows up in her face with the Curse Lord. The only other particular mention in the profile was that she carries around swords, but isn't actually skilled at using them. I don't understand why she would carry around weapons she isn't good at using – it just isn't practical. Giving Kit something in-particular that she is good at (and allowing her to use that to earn actual successes) will show that there are stakes and consequences for her actions. In addition to just making Kit's arc and progression more enjoyable and meaningful, it leaves the reader unsure of what the outcome will be (rather than assuming Kit will screw up just like all the other times she has).
On the same token, give Kit something she's competent at socially as well. As written she's an extremely passive character who doesn't really seem like a protagonist. To give an example, the first instance of Kit's social skills shown in the profile is when she accidentally spills dye on one of her friends' hair and turns it white. Her response is to shut down completely and effectively alienate herself from her group of friends over what is at best a temporary mistake (and it's not even mentioned that the other child was upset or how much it even bothered them to begin with). That trend of exceptional overreaction continues through the majority of Kit's other social instances, to the point where the anxiety and self-guilt aspects of her personality overshadow just about everything else about her. Cutting these aspects back to more reasonable levels would make Kit's presentation much more balanced, rather than frustrating and one-note. Play up her playfulness and allow Kit to actually be funny, rather than coming off as 'weird' to her friends (besides, if all they do is consider her odd/strange, why does she hang out with them in the first place?). Let other aspects of Kit's personality shine through more and show how her friends relate to them.
Speaking of Kit's friends, a Relationship section would do a lot to improve this area of the profile as well. As is, the vast majority of the mention of Kit's friends are how they either ignore her, mistrust her, or see her as a freak (due to the beast pill) or a failure (due to her mistakes). None of these are positive relationships, and does very little to making a convincing argument that Kit should sacrifice so much for people who care so little about her. Honestly, her friends come across as more vehement antagonists than the actual plot antagonist does. Give them actual relationships, likes and dislikes, and show why Kit is actually friends with these people (and why they are friends with Kit in-turn). Give them names and a bit of identity to show how they interconnect. Kit's profile should be about her primarily, but a person's relationships help define and show what kind of person they are (in addition to giving the reader more to get invested in). The same goes for Kit's family – show how Kit is connected to them, and how her parents' influence has helped shape her into the person that she is. Did they encourage her artistic side? Do they not understand her hobbies but want her to be happy with them nonetheless? Do they put a lot of expectations on her, or just let Kit do whatever she wants? There's a lot to explore here that would round out Kit's personality and make her connection to other characters more significant, it just needs to be included.
Back to the topic of Kit herself, given the nature of the story and your target audience, I'd suggest aging her and her friends up. Having her be sixteen or so and become an adult as the plot progresses would make all of the increasingly hard choices and more dire circumstances of the novel better reflect her growth. As written, Kit starting the story at twelve doesn't really give room to even expect her to succeed at any of the things she's supposed to be trying. Her age makes the failures unsurprising and the successes implausible, which curtails a lot of potential impact the story has on the reader (and gives them less room to get attached to any impact is has on Kit). Magical alternate dimension or not, Kit would still be a kid and should still have the mentality of one. That's not to say that Kit should be portrayed as unintelligent or unobservant, but it does naturally limit the things she should be able to understand, articulate, and accomplish to the point that it makes some of the other proposed aspects seem somewhat absurd. Making Kit an older teenager at the start would curtail all of these issues and give her an innate expectation of being 'more capable,' in addition to making her adaptation to Macalgia more understandable (as well as make her reactions to the events around her more tangible and nuanced, given that she'd be able to process them better).
Regarding Kit's Background/Story Line, to start off I don't think the story line should be included. It's a good thing that you've considered it and put so much work into it, but in the context of a character profile all that does is give away what's going to happen to Kit and how she'll change as the plot progresses. A profile should be 'This is who my character is' as opposed to 'This is who my character is, who they will be, and why they'll become that person.' At that point it's moved beyond the character themselves to summarizing the entire story. Cut out the story line and focus more on Kit's Background. This section doesn't have to be exhaustive, and given Kit's age (either her current age or my suggested older one) there shouldn't be all that much to it anyway. Cover any major personality shaping events, give an overview of Kit's life, and leave the background to end at where Kit starts off at the beginning of the story. That keeps the focus on her identity, doesn't give away any spoilers, trims down the length of the profile considerably, and gives readers a more solid latching on point to continue with.
All in all, while there are some neat ideas in Kit's profile I don't think she makes a very effective protagonist as is. Too much of her personality is buried under over-exaggerated negative aspects, the over-reliance on tropes negates a lot of potential for characterization/critical thinking on Kit's part (and thus actual agency in the plot), and her current progression is mostly moving from one bad decision to the next. That isn't to say that Kit can't start out her story as an imbalanced person who makes mistakes – that's actually a pretty effective character arc. Just that it shouldn't be as so extreme (and that she should learn from it, eventually). Balance out her identity, let her friends actually be her friends, and show how Kit learns from her actions rather than being forced to continually blame herself for them and I think you'll have a much more effective protagonist.
I hope this helps!

@gayrazeb
Being polite isn’t a problem! I don’t think you said anything rude. And I only noticed a bit late that your was tagged “personal” so I hope it’s okay I reblogged. ^^;;
I tried to put this up in a separate post just in case.
(I’m also on mobile so I can’t really do a readmore. Sorry, my dash! I’ll tag this with “long post” and hope for the best. Lotta rebels talk and tangential talk about Kalluzeb as a ship.)
I was kind of confused by the “problematic” ship label is all. And most of what you’re saying in the follow-up sounds like a critique of Kallus’s character. Not the ship itself?
My thoughts on that are actually that both characters are traumatized. Assuming you think Kallus was telling the truth about the incident with the Lasat Mercenary and his first posting. (Which isn’t to say it’s an equal level of trauma, but I think both of them handle trauma differently?)
Kallus’s reactions when under pressure afterwards COULD be interpreted as a reaction to that trauma, or as a speciesism in the aftermath.
Even Zeb reacts with shock hearing one of his own cut down helpless people, which in my mind means either Zeb’s a straight-shooter a little naive about his own people (possible. He was very young when he was the honor guard captain.) or that that kind of thing IS NOT DONE.
There’s subtle stuff in watching Kallus get thrown around in episodes and how quickly he gets up. There’s subtle stuff in the sheer panic on his face when he’s injured, weaponless, and Zeb has a rifle trained on him.
He’s filmed as a traumatized character pretty clearly in my mind, anyway.
Kallus got out on Lasan AFTER the thing on Onderon. If you hold that he’s traumatized as a result, then…
Strategically speaking if this is a man who “knows” he’s up against a bigger, stronger creature. He also has every reason to believe they slaughter even the helpless.
Zeb we know is a more honorable character but he still tears through stormtroopers like they’re wet paper, and talks about how he likes punching them. That’s ZEB. Zeb is one man.
So…you’re a human being being deployed against an army of creatures, any one of which if they close will tear through your entire platoon in moments.
Wookiepedia gave me a lot of Kallus info.
For one he’s quite tall. Small next to Zeb, but huge next to everyone else.
He’s trained in both heavy and riot combat. (Think fn-2199 in Force Awakens. Nines is a riot trooper.)
And he’s actually turned down a promotion I think so he can stay active in the field. So he’s very physically fit and powerful for a human but his troops are NOT.
If that’s your situation your only hope is to range your adversary and not let them close (since close combat gives a very clear advantage to the Lasat.) You’ve got to show it as little mercy as it would show you or it’ll tear you apart.
What Kallus’s use of the disruptors does is it takes a metaphorical fight between Lasat as Cavalry and Imperials as Infantry, and essentially pulls a Rommel. Rommel turned his anti-air weapons on tanks during World War II, and ranged them.
So it depends on how you look at it.
In the course of Imperial Propaganda, what Kallus does, if he’s the man who gave the order (which I think he is) actually saves thousands of trooper lives.
…By massacring a planet full of Lasat.
What I find really interesting and can’t find info on is how Kallus ended up on Lasan after the incident on Onderon. Did someone literally assign a PTSD guy to a planet of people he should be terrified of? Did he volunteer for revenge? (Either would give you a lot of detail about his character, yeah?)
You could say his entire drawing Zeb away during the first season antics could be to protect his men. Although it might be a bit of a stretch and I understand if that doesn’t sit with you.
What Kallus does makes perfect sense to me from a strategy perspective though.
It’s ruthless, but he’s a soldier in a war.
There’s more than one way to read Kallus’s early actions, I mean. Especially if he’s deep in the Imperial Propaganda and thinks what he’s doing is the only thing he can do.
What he does that makes him a remarkable person is he turns these situations consistently and elegantly to later advantage.
Using an unconventional weapon on an organic being is grisly but decidedly brilliant.
Turning a defecting colleague into a martyr to stir up people to hunt the rebels themselves is also brilliant and effective.
Withholding supplies from a planet in order to whittle down the limited rebel ships attempting to run supplies in is likewise kind of harsh but ultimately very well suits the goal, AND if Imperials show up later with supplies it makes the Empire look absolutely great, yeah?
He uses his past trauma as a weapon.
Rebel activity’s been going strong for a while by the time you meet Kallus in season one, so his empathy for others has been deadened to almost nothing when we first see him.
As such he feels nothing when straight-up murdering colleagues or goading an enemy into an angry opening by talking about genocide. Those are means to an end and his primary goal is to serve the Empire. To “do his duty”. Because this is what Kallus does.
If you read him in as a character who has always believed he was in the service of doing good even by dubious means then the progression isn’t so unusual.
This is a person who believed that competence and loyalty in executing a duty was enough to assure you of a place in the Empire.
Then…
He flinches when Tarkin executes two of his colleagues for incompetence.
He executes Tua for disloyalty.
The Empire is not loyal to him when he’s lost on the ice moon.
There is…a progression.
On top of that you have his interactions with Zeb, who is honorable even when it puts him at a serious disadvantage. Zeb, who preserves even the life of an enemy he has every reason to hate.
Zeb, who is traumatized too.
But while Zeb is traumatized he also seems to run from it by “forgetting”. He forgets his own title and rank, even. He says nothing about his past or his life. Barely interacts with his own people even after rescuing them because it’s easier to run than to face those things.
He oscillates between anger at Kallus, I think, and refusing to touch the elephant in the room. It’s in how he handles the disruptors issue in the first episode.
Running from trauma and “forgetting” is a valid way people deal with such things. But it usually comes out later and there are consequences in roundabout ways.
I look forward as much to Zeb snapping and hitting that final straw, that one last thing that sends him over the edge.
I’m also down for potential Rebel!Kallus encountering the Mercenary again.
And for Zeb, who said he’d show the way home for his people to have to deal with the members of his people he doesn’t like, that he doesn’t think are worthy of being among his people again.
There are…schisms among the rebels themselves I mean. And whether or not the show wants to get into that or not is another question but…
I haven’t found the takes on either of those character’s personal traumas particularly badly done. I just expect Zeb’s has a slower fuse and it’s going to be ridiculous when he finally does face it?
Plus there’s some stuff within the warrior/child/fool Dynamic that suggests the roles shift.
There are two people with bo-rifles.
And we still haven’t seen one give himself up for the others. (Though Kallus seems more than set to try.)
IF this is what’s going on but it’s going on kind of behind the scenes and from a place of genuine admiration? Of…wanting to be more like what Kallus thinks Zeb is? What Kallus thinks the rebels are? Does that…work a little better for you?
