Eleventh Doctor Chronicles: Sins of the Flesh is really good. Really really good. Experience with certain attitudes can be so isolating, surrounded by people who won’t bother to understand the impact of growing up in that environment (because the world's so progressive now, right), and so — I'm so glad it exists. I also liked the discussion in the interview commentary about how being a monster and doing monstrous things are not mutually exclusive. Like most things, homophobia is pervasive because it is structural. Religious fervor is not inherently bad — “your god is love,” Valarie says to Lily — but as soon as hellfire is brandished around, it's used routinely to empower monstrous things, in a way that becomes unsafe to debate. Especially for young & dependent people who can't escape it.

Conditional love. Moral panics. Purity culture. Self-hate. Mob mentality. This audio. It's timely.

I appreciated what they said in the interviews about not only about the research, but the four rounds of sensitivity readings. I wish the TV show had that level of care sometimes…

My mumbo lives walking distance from me (or uh they live walkin distance from my house they're further away rn cause we go to different colleges) and I did not do it often, but being able to just go over and text them like "hey bro let me into your house rn" so i could go be annoying was so nice sajkfhl rahggh i almost miss them now (no one tell my friends but like god i love them so much...)

Besties, it's clipboard season again, and not to brag but I'm really fucking good at colors

#clipboard season: when i tey desperately to paint a clipboard for all of the leadership and my staff at the camp i work at #this year it amounts to about fifteen clipboards #i choose a different cool thing that reminds me of the person or what i think they would like and then paint it on the back of a clipboard!! #today i started the first because i got the overwhelming vision while i was at work and i needed to paint it #this guy is the nature director. loves fishing and is very good at it. knows a shit ton about fish and fishing #so im painting his clipboard in the style of those educational posters with a bunch of different fish on it #yknow the yellowy beige ones with like fish or plants drawn on them #yeah. im doing that with common fish found in our lake!! #which prompted this post because. that yellowy beige was a fun color to mix up. and not to brag but i got it just about perfect #now comes the drawing. im better at painting than drawing #colors and stuff make more sense than lines and stuff. but im getting better! #im learning more and more every day. and i guess today (and for rhe next ten days) ill be learning to draw fish #(I'm giving myself ten days per clipboard) #(last year when i started i only had like three days per clipboard to finish them before camp) #(spoiler: i finished exactly one) #really hoping this year ill do better. mostly because i love painting and this is a fun way to remember to do ir #as well as challenge nyself and get better #i hope youre all having a great 2024

I would LOVE to know more about the Tumblr blocking infrastructure because as a sideblog, occasionally I try to reblog a post - since I still see it and can go to their blog and everything, since it's just this blog and not main that's blocked - and find that I'm blocked on this account. Which is fine, except if I'm on mobile, Tumblr treats this the same as if I were trying to post without sufficient internet access so it keeps retrying and failing until I manually cancel it. Anyway what I'm saying here is this can't be an efficient use of the servers and they should really just be like "you can't reblog this, this user has you blocked" like a fucking normal website.
