'“The Giggle,” the third and final Doctor Who 60th anniversary special, was more than just a laugh. After two adventures with David Tennant back as the 14th Doctor, a bout with the Toymaker and a nasty U.N.I.T. laser forced him to regenerate again. But just like last time, this wasn’t a normal regeneration: the 15th Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, split from the 14th Doctor like a cell undergoing mitosis.
While this was an exciting development for those hoping for a Tennant-led spinoff, it caused a lot of questions about just how the timeline works, and most importantly, what happens to the 14th Doctor when he inevitably dies. But one line from the episode may reveal a theory that could solve everything.
After the 14th and 15th Doctors come to terms with the “bi-generation,” which was previously thought to just be a myth, the two figure out the logistics of how their co-existence will work. While 14 is giving him a tour of the Tardis, 15 reveals why he thinks the bi-generation happened: because the Doctor has never stopped to rest.
All the Doctors just kept running never stopping to feel their feelings or cope with the massive losses they’ve encountered over the years. “But you're fine,” 15 says. “I'm fine because you fixed yourself.”
This seems to mean that 15, as he exists now, has all the memories that 14 is going to make with Donna and her family, and is benefitting from his previous self-care. If that’s true, that means that when 14 dies, he will simply cease to be — his regeneration into 15 is simply an advance on what would have happened later.
There’s even more evidence for this theory if you know where to look. Donna tells 15, “He's younger because you came after him. So you're the older Doctor.” If the two truly were “born” at the same time, that would make them the same age. But if 15 has the lived experience of 14, then he’d be a good deal older.
Like every good Doctor Who plot twist, there’s timey wimey stuff involved — in this case, a good old-fashioned bootstrap paradox. 15 tells 14 he needs to take a break and get better because that’s what he was told, so there’s a time loop going on. Much like the DVD extra in Blink, that statement has no origin: it exists in a loop, folding in on itself.
It may have completely torn up the Doctor Who playbook, but this theory could actually restore some order. We won’t see two branches of Doctor regenerating on their own divergent paths from here on out. Instead, the 14th Doctor is just sticking around a little while longer and enjoying a well-deserved (semi)retirement.'

STACKED100 - APRIL POST
what is stacked100?
It’s something I thought up, inspired in part by “stackednatural”, but mostly by myself doing this with The Vampire Diaries this last year (see my #stackediaries tag). The gist of it is that you watch each episode of the show on the anniversary of their airing date. It “officially” started in October (with only two episodes) and it would end in September 2024. You can see the full schedule here.
what are we supposed to do with this
Whatever the hell you want lmao. Tag whatever post you make #stacked100 and go for it! Gifsets, live blogging, discussions… engage with other people as much or as little as you want. Watch some episodes and not others, for any reason. I’m doing this to have some fun with this VERY polarizing show, seeing how my perspective might be changed with hindsight + this specific way of watching it, and a bit because I miss my little corner of this messy as fuck fandom. But this is something you can do in whichever manner works for you, mate.
episodes to watch this month
under the cut as it gets long (there are SO many good ones awaiting this month :D).
April 2nd. Season 1 episode 3, "Earth Kills". As a dangerous, acidic fog approaches, Clarke, Finn and Wells set out in search of a seaweed-like plant to make an antibiotic poultice for Jasper's wounds, while a vulnerable young girl follows when Bellamy takes a group out hunting for food.
April 7th. Season 3 episode 10, "Fallen". Jaha employs a terrifying new method to convince Abby to join his cause, Kane is on a mission, and Bellamy is hit with a hard truth. Meanwhile, Monty finds himself in a precarious situation, and Jasper rushes to save one of his own.
April 9th. Season 1 episode 4, "Murphy's Law". Bellamy, Clarke and Finn try to protect Charlotte when everyone learns she killed Wells. On the Ark, Abby risks getting floated in order to give Raven the chance to launch the escape pod.
April 14th. Season 3 episode 11, "Nevermore". Clarke and her friends try to save Raven from Alie's control. However, they realize that they will have to undergo dangerous procedures that may cost Raven's life.
April 16th. Season 1 episode 5, "Twilight's Last Gleaming". A plan to contact the Ark is put in motion after Raven crash lands on Earth. Meanwhile, Abby exposes Kane's plan to reduce the population of the Ark.
April 21st. Season 3 episode 12, "Demons". Jaha returns to Polis, and Murphy has a surprise encounter. Meanwhile, Octavia uncovers a clue.
April 23rd. Season 1 episode 6, "His Sister's Keeper". Bellamy, Finn and Jasper head into Grounder territory to search for Octavia, as flashbacks show the siblings' difficult childhood on the Ark. Meanwhile, Raven finds out about Clarke and Finn.
April 24th. Season 5 episode 1, "Eden". Clarke struggles to survive on a desolate, scorched earth while her friends in space come across a long awaited beacon of hope.
April 26th. Season 4 episode 9, "DNR". Clarke struggles to keep the peace after word of Jaha's discovery spreads.
April 28th. Season 3 episode 13, "Join or Die". Clarke is on a mission that could change everything. Meanwhile Murphy gains insight that might prove useful in ensuring his survival. Lastly Kane reaches a breaking point.
April 30th.
Season 1 episode 7, "Contents Under Pressure". While Bellamy tortures the Grounder, Raven and Clarke make contact with the Ark and ask Abby to help them save Finn. On the Ark, Kane deals with his guilt, and Jaha surprises the council with a shocking revelation.
Season 6 episode 1, "Sanctum". Still reeling after receiving Monty's message, a small group goes down to explore the mysterious new planet. Back on the Mothership, several members of Wonkru face the consequences of their decisions.

Iron Man Cement 30-Year Career with Monumental Double Album (+ new song!)
~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~
Review by Billy Goate
Tumblr media
This is more than an album. It is more, even, than a portrait of quintessential New England doom metal. It is a testament to the enduring power of music and friendship to bring a collective dream to life and to sustain it to the bitter end.
The new double album 'Hail To The Riff' (2021) showcases 14 anthems by Maryland doom legends IRON MAN. With the exception of one previously unreleased studio song, the bulk of the material was performed live at Castle of Doom Festival in Pagazzano, Italy on Saturday, July 5th, 2014. It was the band's one and only trip to Italy, now being released for the first time (appropriately enough) by Italian label Argonauta Records.
Many of you know the Iron Man story. Founded back in '88 as a Black Sabbath cover band, the guys gradually started playing their own compositions and were ecstatic by the positive reception the original material received. Iron Man released their first album in '93 and over the course of many decades, went on to tour the world with the likes of Cathedral and Pentagram, composing many a doom standard along the way ("Hail To The Haze" will forever be my fav).
"In the beginning, Iron Man had two jobs," guitarist Al Morris told Doomed & Stoned some years back. "First, we were a Sabbath tribute. We were able to headline shows and get people talking about the band. Second, we were writing original music for a demo to shop. Everything went as planned! By May of 1992, we got signed to Hellhound Records in Germany. That kind of history, coupled with the internet, gave us worldwide exposure. The fans did not let us get frustrated! We are totally motivated by our fans. We have them in mind at all times." (Read the classic Doomed & Stoned interview with Iron Man.)
It should surprise no one that Hail To The Riff   is dedicated straight up to Alfred Morris III, who sadly died in 2018. As he was the longest-standing member of Iron Man and its most consistent face, it made sense when the group disbanded after the passing of its founding member.
"The Type of person my father was," Al's daughter reflects, "he never expected anything huge. He just enjoyed doing what he loved. Music was in his blood; part of his DNA and he wasn’t complete without it...As long as I can remember, Iron Man was a large part of my dad’s life, and mine. My first rock show? My dad’s band. The first live show I ever saw was Iron Man. Watching my dad perform, I saw him transform. He had this amazing stage presence. An effortless grace when he played guitar that was mesmerizing. Even though I had seen him play a thousand times, I was always impressed!"
Tumblr media
I spoke with Screaming Mad Dee Calhoun in 2018, near the 30th anniversary of Iron man and just a few months following Al's death. "Just on a personal note, I don't think anything I'm doing now," Dee reflected, in reference to his burgeoning solo career, "would have been possible without being a part of Al and Iron Man. Al was very supportive of my efforts outside of Iron Man, be it music or writing or what not. I can never thank him enough for just tapping me on the shoulder and saying, 'Hey I want you to join my band?'" Dee continued, "No one I ever knew who knew Al ever had a bad word to say about him. He was just one of those guys who was a positive influence on people. Once he touched a project, it was better than before he touched it. We certainly miss him.
As a follow-up I asked hnw people could get better acquainted with Al's contribution and really hear his spirit. Dee replied, "Just start with Black Night and work forward. He would want to be remembered by his music. Just sit back and enjoy what he had to bring to the world." That album's title track is no. 13 on the playlist below us, and Al shines just as bright on it here as he did on their cardinal opus. What band could hope for a better life than Iron Man had, with their unlikely success leading them to record five LPs and three EPs, crossing some of the world's greatest record labels?
Tumblr media
Hail To The Riff   begins with a cheering throng and the grungy downtuned riffing of Al Morris, to be joined in short order by Louis Strachan on bass and Jason "Mot" Waldmann on drums. At last, Screaming Mad Dee belts out hellfire and brimstone in his scratchy quasi-operatic style (who, it must said, has one of the most intimidating voices in all of metal). "Make some goddamn noise!" The crowd eats it up, of course.
At this point, I'd advise you to make any room corrections you need to, as live recordings tend to be a unique beast all their own. They always sound a little "thin" and "boxy" to me. I found simply turning the volume up a few notches more than for casual listening brought this live recording alive for me. I did not, however, tempt fate by listening with earphones (I'm already dealing with enough tinnitus from my many years of filming live shows).
"The time is here to strike fear. We are Iron Man, bringing you 25 years of Maryland doom!" That really fires up the festival for what would become the band's third and final live albums. If this had been your first time hearing Iron Man, you would encounter a group in top form with accessible songs like "Run From The Light" that capture so powerfully the spirit of metal, itself a kind of freak born of the age of electricity.
Since I don't have perfect pitch, I would be hard pressed to determine just where Al's axe is tuned for this set. Judging from tracks like "The Worst and Longest Day'' and "South of the Earth," let's just say it's low enough to confuse the guitar sometimes for the bass (and when you listen a second time, the bass is often hitting a similar if not lower range). Remind me to ask the guys next time I get a chance and I'll add a note to this article with their answer. I'll be there were a lot of fans that day who were really feeling that Iron Man vibe on a raw, gut level as the sound reverberated through from their internal organs, ultimately grabbing hold of their spine with a mighty grip of doom, and shaking their bones like a rattle.
I've always said the acid test of any band is their ability to pull their songs off convincingly in a live setting. So many things can go wrong, but the way a band bounces through the hurdles of that 30-60 minute set tells you everything. You know right away whether you're dealing with confident musicians who believe it to the core, or wannabes who are fronting a hype machine. To hear Dee make "South of the Earth" work without the cool vocal layering from the recording and still give you chills says everything you need to know about the integrity of Iron Man as a band.
Time for the bottom line. Hail To The Riff   is nothing less than a celebration of metal-making, friendship, and the mysterious power of the riff to compel us -- no matter who we are, what language we speak, or what our differences may be -- to assemble together as a sweaty mass under a hot Italian sun in the middle of summer and revel in the pure love of heavy music. If you close your eyes, you can almost picture yourself there.
Of course, the real treat for Iron Man acolytes is going to be the solemn 14th and final track, "Black Morning." The band recorded it in late-September of 2013, just days before South of the Earth saw its release on Rise Above Records (later on Metal Blade Records, too). Hearing the words and the instruments meet in such perfect execution and conviction brought a single thought to my mind: "These guys really get doom." Long live the ferocity and might of Iron Man!
The album is officially out this Friday on digital outlets, with a special gold vinyl 2XLP available via Argonauta Records. Right now, Doomed & Stoned is letting you revel in it all! So sit back, turn those speakers up, and...
...give ear.

Hi I love your blog! I now have 9 pages of fics marked for later so i'm not sure what that says about me but anyway I'm wondering if I can have some recs of fics where Sherlock is fluent in French and/or they go to France. (So I can tell myself I'm revising for French tests while reading fic). Thanks.
Reply: What a cool idea! There are obviously many more than this, since it’s semi-canon that Sherlock’s grandmother was French, but here’s what I found in my bookmarks:
Sherlock speaks French/goes to France
A Death in Harfleur by OssaCordis (22K, M, Johnlock) October 1415 Surgeon John Watson arrives in France in the days following the siege of Harfleur, only to find the English camp haunted by a series of suspicious suicides…Lord Sherlock Holmes wants nothing more than to understand the cause of these deaths, but finds a certain surgeon rather distracting…A slash retelling of A Study in Pink set during the Hundred Years' War.
Against All Odds by ravenscar (126K, E, Johnlock) When a Crusader crosses paths with an enigmatic young Briton in the Holy Land, their lives are changed forever.
France by SilentAuror (11K, E, Johnlock and Warstan) John comes home from his honeymoon to find that Sherlock has gone to France and everyone seems to be angry with him.
La vie en rose by weneedtotalkaboutsherlock (18K, T, Johnlock) The only reason why John took French class, well, was because Mary said something about it being the language of love. If John, at the time, had sneered internally, he propped his chin on the back of his hand and asked her to tell him more about it.Let it be said that John Watson is not entirely incapable of taking a clue.
Over Hill and Under Hill by khorazir (75K, T, Johnlock) John and Sherlock travel to France to tackle the Col du Galibier (of Tour de France fame) by bicycle, and the confused state of their relationship after Sherlock's return from the dead at the same time. A long journey, and a long climb ...
Reason Goes Before a Fall by Lorelei_Lee (27K, M, Johnlock, John/OMC) John Watson is just a man. A man whose tolerance for sexual frustration has almost reached its limit. The object of his desire? Sherlock. The problem? Sherlock thinks he's straight and John doesn't think Sherlock's interested. Sherlock is just a man too, but he doesn't want to jeopardise their friendship. The solution? A prostitute who looks a lot like Sherlock. This is never going to end well...
Siege by PlainJane (55K, E, Johnlock) In 1415, English archer John of Kenilworth is sent by Lord Mycroft Holmes from the field of victory at Agincourt to protect a remote French castle. Cherinfourde is under some dark cloud and John means to get to the bottom of it, in his lord's name. If only he could stop thinking about the most unusual omega he has ever met.
Song of the Dauntless Knight by antietamfalls (48K, E, Johnlock) 14th-century England. Sir John Watson and his knightly comrades return home from fighting for the Black Prince in France and enter into the household service of Duke Moriarty. Among the many castle denizens is Lord Sherlock Holmes, heir to his brother the Earl and long-time hostage of the Duke. An unlikely relationship soon emerges.
The Calming Effects of Tea by flawedamythyst (28K, E, Johnlock) Agreeing on a compromise is one thing, living with it is quite another.
The Iceman Cometh by Polyphony (60K, M, Johnlock, Viclock) Title from the Eugene O'Neill play of the same name. An intriguing puzzle tempts Sherlock to accept Victor Trevor's invitation to the French Riviera, but all is not what it seems. Frustrated by the case and increasingly concerned about an absent John, Sherlock uncovers far more than he was meant to and is forced to become a fugitive, pursued by those on both sides of the law, as he fights for his freedom and the lives of all those around him.
Tennis Series by Jupiter_Ash (216K, E, Johnlock) John and Sherlock are professional tennis players and it’s Wimbledon. One is a broken almost was at the end of his career, the other an arrogant rising star tipped for greatness. It should have been a straightforward tournament. It really should have been. How were they to know that a chance encounter would change everything?
Voulez-Vous by AlbaNix (5K, G, Gen) It’s an ordinary day at 221B apart from the fact that Sherlock is speaking in French. What John doesn’t know is that Sherlock has an ulterior motive. What Sherlock doesn’t know is that while John may not speak French, he’s almost fluent in Sherlock. [NB This fic has been deleted, link goes to Wayback Machine.]
I also found this list of language/voice kink fics from @pmastamonkmonk (scroll down, the post contains several lists).
And here are some from the original stories:
ACD Canon
An April’s Journey by Katie Forsythe (ACD, 13K, M, Johnlock) Set against "The Reigate Squire", Watson learns Holmes has fallen ill in France, and for another reason than simple exhaustion.
and you are its only tenet by Ellipsical (ACD, 6K, E, Johnlock) In Paris. John knows how to give his husband an anniversary to remember, but wait, Sherlock might have one or two tricks up his sleeve too...
Inside These Rooms by addicted2hugh (16K, E, Johnlock) The thought of losing Watson drives Holmes insane, which in turn leads to Watson investigating his strange behaviour. A lot of talking and even more kissing ensues. Oh, and a lot of Victorian smut, of course.
In Vino Veritas by gardnerhill (10K, E, Johnlock) Grafting is the process of adding something new to something old and established, which makes the whole stronger.
Learning to Speak French by tinzelda (16K, E, Johnlock, Viclock) Holmes tells Watson about his first case and reveals more than just the basic facts.
The Answer to a Question by A_Candle_For_Sherlock (22K, T, Johnlock) These are the stories behind the story we know: what really happened to Watson's marriage, and what made him follow Holmes to Reichenbach; what secrets were hidden in the mountains, and what a dead man wrote to the man he left behind.

This was a problematic show in that it suffered several misfortunes due to Typhoon Hagibis, the worst typhoon to tear through Japan in a generation, and this caused both Jon Moxley and Zack Sabre Jr to miss the show due to not being able to get into the country. As a result of Moxley not being able to make the show, New Japan stripped him of the U.S. Title, and the belt was declared vacant, with Juice now taking on Lance Archer in a decision match. Beyond this totally unforseen and unpreventable natural disaster, the show had an issue in that it didn’t offer anything especially interesting from a fresh match stand-point. Beside the long-teased Liger/Suzuki bout, it was a card full of matches we’ve seen before, granted matches we knew would deliever, but still, it hardly got me really excited at the prospect. A probelm New Japan’s been facing this entire post-G1, pre-WK season. However, those matches we knew would deliver did, so on the whole, despite being somewhat disappointing, it was a very enjoyable supershow.
The returning El Desperado lead his team with Kanemaru to victory over Roppongi 3K in a hot opener, which saw the masked man get the win over SHO after he took the whiskey in the face off Kanemaru, and Despy nailed Pinche Loco at the 10:44 mark. Tanahashi hit the High Fly Flow to pin Toru Yano in a fun, but unspectacular 9:43 doubles match to celebrate his 20th anniversary as a wrestler. It was weird seeing Tana in a totally nothing old-timers match. The Naito/Shingo vs. Taichi/DOUKI tag match was by far the worst thing on the show, and it ended in a DQ when Taichi nailed Naito with the mic stand right in front of the ref. Taichi laid Naito out with a Last Ride in the post match. I honestly couldn’t give a rat’s ass about another match between these two. Then things got great with the long-awaited Liger vs. Suzuki battle. This wasn’t the crazy brawl they’ve been teasing for months, instead it started as a mat based grapple battle, then turned into a Strong Style grudge match. At 55 and 51 years respectively, these guys worked an excellent match with incredible emotion. They started hitting each other really hard, with Liger, in Battle Liger garb, laying in the Shoutei’s and Suzuki coming back with hard strikes and forearms. It looked like Liger might get the submission win with the Brakes Special arm submission, but Suzuki escaped and locked in a sleeper. Liger scored a very close near fall with the Thesz Press, then hit his Brainbuster finish, but again Suzuki kicked out. After hitting his trademark big dropkick, Suzuki floored the masked legend with a stiff forearm, then hit the Gotch Piledriver at the 17:38 to end this. In the post match, Suzuki nailed the Young Lions with a chair, then threatened to hit the helpless Liger with it, but instead threw it away, kneels and bowes to Liger in a sign of total respect as Kokugikan went crazy. Liger thanked Suzuki over the house mic as he left his final match at Ryogoku Kokugikan. This was great.
The Junior Title Match followed and it was pretty damn crazy. They were out there for 28 minutes and hit so many crazy spots that its impossible to remember them all. Whilst it was my favourite match of the night, I can’t help but feel they maybe did too much. It reminded me of those Adam Cole NXT main events that I just can’t get away with in that they hit so many big moves that weren’t the finish, it became a bit beliveability-stretching. Now thats out of the way, this was a tremendous encounter. The story was that ELP in the early going decided to eschew his evil ways and play the honest babyface, which of course everyone knew was bullshit. After attacking the eyes and hitting frankly brutal back rakes, Ospreay sent Phantasmo into fellow Bullet Club member Gino Gambino at ringside. This lead to them brawling through the crowd, where Phantasmo hit a massive balcony dive. Back in the ring, ELP tried the tree-of-woe-nut-stomp, but Will countered into a Spider German. Ospreay escapes a CRII on the apron and hit an Oscutter off the guardrail whilst Phantasmo was still on the apron, which teased a countout, but ELP ate a huge corner-to-corner dropkick as he enters, and Will gets a near fall with the Shooting Star Press. After Ospreay scored a near fall with Oscutter, Taiji Ishimori ran out, but was sent packing by Robbie Eagles. This allowed ELP to hit a dick punch and a belt shot, then hit the Big Splash, but Will kicks out. A Styles Clash from Phantasmo gets another near fall, then he hits the V-Trigger, then attempts One Winged Angel, but Ospreay rolls through into a cradle for a near fall. Will gets a near fall with Essex Destroyer, then gets crotched as he tries to go up top. Phantasmo tries the super Frankensteiner, but Ospreay turns it into a massive sitout Powerbomb, hits Hidden Blade, then retains the title, and finally avenges his losses to Phantasmo after putting him away with Storm Breaker. As I say, I thought this was great stuff indeed, but it got a bit silly, and I mean PWG levels of silly, by the end.
The six man that followed was the epitome of an OK bout, with the focus being on White and Goto, KENTA and Ishii tearing it up, and Yujiro looking frankly terrible out there in this one. Goto won for his team when he hit Takahashi with GTR at the 12:27. The match for the now vacant U.S. Title followed, and was made a No DQ match (the planned Moxley/Juice encounter had the same stip). This felt utterly superfluous as there was no reason for this to be No DQ, and the plunder spots felt forced. Much of the match was spent setting up furniture, which hurt it slightly. Juice suffered a nasty looking dislocated finger along the way here. The finish saw Archer hit Black Out into a pile of chairs for a close near fall. The big man became infuriated and slammed Juice’s head into the pile of chairs repeatedly, then applied the EBD Claw to win the title at 14:58. Before he could do anymore damage, the returning David Finley ran out and hit his Stunner on Archer, so thats The American Psycho’s first title programme. Interesting. Kota Ibushi avenged his G1 defeat to EVIL in his successful defense of the IWGP Briefcase in another great match. This wasn’t as good as their G1 outing in July however, and personally speaking, the show felt as though it was starting to drag by this point. This started slow, but built into a hot closing stretch with loads of great counters. The King Of Darkness gets a near fall with Darkness Falls, but Kota counters into the Bastard Driver, and scores a near fall of his own with a Last Ride. Ibushi tries Boma Ye but EVIL turns him inside-out with a huge Lariat counter. The STO is turned into a Straight Jacket German, and EVIL hits a Half Nelson Suplex, then tries another Lariat, but Ibushi counters with one of his own, hits a V-Trigger, then Kamigoye for a super close near fall. Ibushi lifts EVIL up and hits another Kamigoye to keep the briefcase at the 24:05 mark.
And in the main event, Okada and SANADA squared off for the fourth time this year in a major bout. This was an excellent match, no doubt, but it had several things going against it. Namely that its the fourth match between these two this year, it was probably never going to live up to their G1 encounter, and no one could feasibly have believed SANADA was going to win this. Indeed he didn’t, but he still put in a great effort. However, I’ve been saying this for years now, and this match just cements this with me, but he needs to drop that Skull End as a finish. It just isn’t a believable submission in the slightest. The amount of times he locked it on in this particular match really jumped the shark, especially when it never looked good, and no one bought it. This was a long, story-based match that went 37 minutes and felt every single second of it. It started really hot but slowed to a very methodical pace, and by the end, I was very tired indeed, so perhaps I’m doing this a disservice. This featured tremendous counters sequences. SANADA turned a TKO in to Skull End but Okada reversed into a Tombstone attempt. SANADA reversed that into a Tombstone of his own, then nailed the TKO for a near fall. Cold Skull locks on Skull End again, Okada freeing his head, but SANADA kept locking on Skull End. He laid there in the hold for what felt like an eternity and Red Shoes really tried to sell us that he was going to stop it. Okada finally fought free and counters a SANADA rolling elbow into a Rainmaker atempt, but SANADA turns it into another Skull End attempt, but Okada hits a dropkick to the back for the double down. Okada with a dropkick, but SANADA escapes another Rainmaker, and locked on another Skull End. SANADA with a Moonsault to the back, rolls the champion over and goes for another, but Okada gets the knees up. Another goddamn Skull End is applied, but Okada escapes by walking up the turnbuckles and hitting a Tombstone. SANADA escapes another Rainmaker and scores a fantastic near fall with the Rolling Leg Clutch. Okada arm drags his way free of maybe the 47th Skull End attempt, and SANADA ducked another Rainmaker attempt. The finish saw SANADA again try Skull End, but Okada turned it into a Fire Thunder Driver, then hit the Rainmaker to finally retain the title.
As I say, this was an excellent match, but it started to lose me by the end. The post match however, was incredible. As SANADA lay on the mat crying, knowing he’s now 7-1 against Okada, the champion sat next to him giving him a thumbs up. This is the sort of believable emotion that sets NJPW apart rom almost every other company. Okada cut a promo in the post match saying he believes one day, these two will main event the Tokyo Dome. We’ll see. This brought out Ibushi, and Okada noted that Ibushi has avenged his G1 losses, but Okada, who lost to Golden Star on the final A Block day at Budokan, has yet to do so. Okada then said Ibushi was overlooking him in wanting to become a double champion, when theres no way he’s getting past Okada on January 4th. They then pretty much made the main event for the first Dome show official, and Okada thanked everyone for coming out in the midst of a Typhoon, and noted that its the wrestlers job to give the fans the energy to carry on through such adversity.

Yokai Watch Corocoro Leaks (June 2018)
Corocoro leaks have been coming out, so I will translate under the readmore.
Beware of spoilers, naturally!
This month’s issue has some interesting stuff in it.
It contains information about:
A new Yokai Watch movie that will be released in Japan this year,
merchandise related stuff mostly focusing on Yokai Arcs (which finally reveals the new tribes)
A special event Level-5 will host to celebrate Yokai Watch’s 5th Anniversary, where they’ll announce a brand new game that is not Yokai Watch 4
As always, I will do my best to translate the parts I can make out,
--
First, we have this page:

It’s main focus is the pyramid, showing off the different rarity levels of the Yokai Arcs, but it also goes over additional things, like the tribes, colors, and other upcoming merchandise.
Note that when this page refers to “the first series”, it’s referring to the first series of Yokai Arcs that will be released on the 14th of July.
-
Tumblr media
妖怪アークはレア度で色が変わる!!
黄金の妖怪アーク以外にも色のちがうアークを発見。 レア度が「激レア」以上のアークに注目だ!!

-
Tumblr media
激レアランクは種族で色が変化!!
「激レア」の妖怪アークは種族マークと同じ色になる。 1弾のハイパーミッチーとジュニアはウワノソラ族なので、青い妖怪アークになるぞ!!
For the Extreme Rare Rank, the color changes with the tribe!!
"Extreme Rare" Yokai Arcs are the same color as their tribe symbol. Hyper Micchy and Junior from the first series are Uwanosora Tribe, so they have blue Yokai Arcs!!
Tumblr media
妖怪の種族は7つ!? There's 7 Yokai Tribes!?
Tumblr media
ゴーリキ族 Gōriki Tribe
(“Gōriki” translates to “incredible physical strength”.)
Tumblr media
オンネン族 Onnen Tribe
(”Onnen” translates to “grudge”, sometimes used to refer to the grudge of the undead.)
Tumblr media
モノノケ族 Mononoke Tribe
(”Mononoke” is a word with a similar meaning to “youkai”. In this case, I presume it’s used to refer to the animal-like ones specifically.)
Tumblr media
ツクモノ族 Tsukumono Tribe
(”Tsukumono” could be translated as “tool”, and it’s likely a reference to tsukumogami.)
Tumblr media
ウワノソラ族 Uwanosora Tribe
(”Uwanosora” translates to “absent-minded”.)
Tumblr media
オマモリ族 Omamori Tribe
(”Omamori” can refer to protective charms, spirits, and the like.)
Tumblr media
ミカクニン族 Mikakunin Tribe
(”Mikakunin” translates to “unconfirmed” or “unidentified”.)
-
Tumblr media

(Next bit we’re going over the little pyramid that shows the different rarity ranks.

DX Fudō Raimeiken, Yōseiken Version
You have the honor of witnessing Fudōmyōō・Ten and the Yōseiken Holder!!
Introducing Fudōmyōō's powered-up and reborn Yōseiken. Comes in a set with a Holder that can store all 5  Yōseiken!!
*Image is in development.
(Quick Notes:
The Fudō Raimeiken is the sword that Fudōmyōō resides in. It could literally be translated as “Immovable Thunder Sword”.
Yōseiken could be translated as “Yokai Sage Sword”. It is the type of sword that the Fudō Raimeiken is. It seems 5 exist in total.
Fudōmyōō・Ten means “Fudōmyōō:Heaven”, or “Heavenly Fudōmyōō"
It also mentions that this set will be released in late August, for around 1728 Yen.
Previously I would translate some of these terms literally, but I think leaving them untranslated makes more sense for my translations.)

Carry your collection around
with the DX Yokai Arc Holder!!
The Yokai Arc Holder that appeared in the anime is turned into merchandise!! You can attach it to your bag or clothes and carry it around.
剛猛のコマさん 妖怪アークも付属!! Also comes with a Kōmō Komasan Yokai Arc!!
激レアランクの 超限定妖怪アークだ!! It's an Extra Rare Rank, ultra-limited Yokai Arc!!
(Quick Notes:
It mentions that this Arc Holder appeared in the anime, but I haven’t seen it there yet. Either it’ll appear in the future, or it was actually in the 4th movie.
I am unsure what “Kōmō Komasan“ means. It could be translated as “Fierce Komasan”, but I left it untranslated since I am not certain.
They also mention that it releases on July 14, for 1512 Yen
Also, don’t be fazed by terms like “ultra-limited” that these articles always like to throw around.)

New year, new music remained more true than ever this past week. UK dub esoteric and in-demand producing extraordinaire James Blake kept us awake with his insomniac love, PUP continued to find growth and life-affirmation through their nihilistic punk sing-a-longs with the kids, Maren Morris reaffirmed our faith in her GIRL power with her first preview off her highly anticipated sophomore effort, Tamaryn brought rage to her dreamy art pop, and Los Angeles noiseniks HEALTH refined the strangeness in their sound. Bubbling up from the underground and rising, we got promising glimpses in the futures of righteous rablerouser Stella Donnelly, cosmic soothsayer SPELLLING, folk duellist Bellows, and synth stylist Liam Benzvi. The latest Recommended Listen also came from Deerhunter’s latest album, which reminds us that their best days have yet to disappear. There's more where that came from with new music from pop and punk eclecticism alike.
Here’s the best of the rest from the week of January 13th, 2019…
Ariana Grande - “7 rings” [Republic Records]
The huge year Ariana Grande had in 2018 is going to get even bigger in the new year. To date, the pop superstar will be embarking on a massive tour behind last year’s great Sweetener, is slated to headline Coachella (and maybe even Lollapalooza, too...,) and has another album on the way that’s already shaping up to be one of the finest breakup reclamation narratives in pop culture. It’s tentatively titled thank u, next, after one of last year’s best songs, period, and more recently gave to us the sensually soulful ballad “Imagine”. “7 Rings” joins the two as potential album cuts, with this listen shifting gears into full-on fun mode where over an interpolation of the melody from The Sound of Music’s “My Favorite Things”, Grande mean mugs about retail therapy and being able to pay for it all of her own dime. Its video, again directed by Hannah Lux Davis, is similarly luxurious, as we watch Grande and her BFFs flaunt her 1% status up in a neon pink penthouse playing around with more money and high-end material possessions than any of us will ever see even if we lived ten of our own lifetimes.

Cass McCombs -“The Great Pixley Train Robbery” [ANTI-]
Vagabond songwriting rebel Cass McCombs will release his ninth studio effort Tip of the Sphere on February 8th, and it’s building its way up to be yet another impressive showcase of the prolific wordsmith’s artistry, with early singles “Sleeping Volcanoes” and “Estrella” culling style cues from worldly musical influences that add even more layers to his detailed storytelling. Though its latest advance listen “The Great Pixley Train Robbery” may find less culture beyond the American songbook to be heard, within the context, it makes sense that its tone is that of a brambling, country-friend bar burner: It’s McCombs’ homage to the actual Pixley Train Robbery of 1889, in which a bandwagon of masked robbers hijacked a train, stole thousands of dollars, and made off into the sunset on horseback. When McCombs relives those moments through song, there’s no shortage of full color danger and adventure. His version of it will hopefully take him on the road much more safely later this spring.

Dark Blue - “Waterford Crystal” [12XU]
Andy Nelson may physically be at CEREMONY’s Home Sick 2 festival this weekend, but there are moments in time when his spirit gravitates into another dimension of punk with his gothly, political project Dark Blue, the Philly trio that also includes John Sharkey III of morbid post-punkers Clockcleaner and Mike Sneeringer of Purling Hiss. Of all the sounds this collective encounter in their work elsewhere, Dark Blue materializes itself through Sharkey’s handsomely maudlin vocals, sharp riffs that coil around the gloomy melancholia of Brit-pop and the singed edges of ‘70s post-punk if they were to be swallowed whole by a shoegaze orb. On February 22nd, they’ll be releasing their third studio effort Victory Is Rated, which boasts a curious sax guest spot from Philly scene kingpin Kurt Vile. First single “Waterford Crystal” isn’t that song, but it definitely rumbles through the speakerboom with a debonair shimmer in their sad-eyed rock theatrics. In a very punk move, Dark Blue plans to celebrate the release by playing only one show, which goes down March 1st at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus.
Victory Is Rated by Dark Blue
Gauche - “Conspiracy Theories” [Merge Records]
2019 seems to be the year in which punks are out here making what noise they can with what little free time they have while pulling double duty in other projects than the ones they’re primarily known for. The latest making their visibility known in the fray is that of Gauch, a D.C. post-punk outfit featuring Downtown Boys’ Mary Jane Regalado and Jason P Barnett alongside Priests’ Daniele Yandel and a rotating cast of friends, who’ve since signed with Merge and will be releasing their proper debut full-length later this year. Their latest single “Conspiracy Theories” is a standalone listen that serves as the perfect introduction to what they’re all about through up-front politicized matters in their lyrics slung over a nervous, yet linear wriggle of guitar riffs angling their way around brass splashes. "I hate/ conspiracy theories/ Alex Jones / I hate you too,” goes one lin. When you take into account that many within the D.C. punk scene have first-hand experience with seeing the worst of them play out in real life, their ire is more than deserved. Alex Szantos directed its very DIY, VHS-quality performance clip that makes the most out of party streamers and the color palette despite what dark clouds hover over the world these days.
youtube
Makthaverskan - “Demands” [Run for Cover Records]
Last week saw the long awaited and very welcome return o Swedish shoegazing punk band Westkust after a four year of silence from the point of delivering one of 2015′s best albums in their debut Last Forever. The band, which features two members of their more active post-punks counterparts Makthaverskan, is being followed on their heels with new music from that end, with the announcement that Makthaverskan will be releasing a 7″ single on January 25th. It features two tracks in “Demands”and “Onkel”, which the band revealed through a facebook post were initially recorded during the same sessions that brought us their solid 2017 effort Ill, but “didn’t quite fit in with the rest of the material,” hence coupling them together as their own stand-alone. Given that Ill found the four-piece dabbling in the cavernous echoes in their signature sparkle of post-punk, its A-side “Demands” rekindles fire with the illuminated rush. “Try to see through my eyes / No longer care for your demands / No time to catch up my mind / I am so tired of your advice,” Maja Milner’s sky-high vocals aim for the cosmos. When she’s seeing clearly, she and Makthaverskan never cease to scale new heights.
Demands b/w Onkel by Makthaverskan
Panda Bear - “Token” [Domino Records]
Plenty of listeners are feeling wistful this year over the 10 year anniversary of Animal Collective’s indie opus Merriweather Post Pavilion, yet sometimes-member Noah “Panda Bear” Lennox has been steadily looking toward the future of his own art ever since. His latest effort Buoys, due out on February 8th, is opening a new chapter within his own story following the trilogy of adulting avant pop bliss that was 2007′s Person PItch, 2011′s Tomboy and 2015′s Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper. While it does sound like the nautical breeze within Lennox’s music will never truly cease passage (titing his latest album Buoys alongside its lead single “Dolphin” are proof of that,) finding new pockets for his voice to explore within minimalist textures and low voltage experimentation amid his wonky nature suits his sound comfortably on its latest listen “Token”. The listen’s accompanying video, starring and directed by UK electronic composer Dean Blunt, is about rediscovering joy in the everyday after a series of creative setbacks -- Emotions aburst in Panda Bear’s sprite sound.
youtube
Xiu Xiu - “Pumpkin Attack On Mommy and Daddy” [Polyvinyl Records]
We can always count on Xiu Xiu to throw a wrench through the current musical landscape, and even themselves for that matter. For the veteran avant et. al outfit’s forthcoming 14th studio effort Girl With the Fruit Basket, due out on February 8th, project mastermind Jamie Stewart and longtime constant Angela Seo were joined by percussion virtuoso Thor Harris and Jordan Geiger inside the studio for their latest deconstruction in experimental noise and pop conjectures. Its first single “Scisssssssors” was an extreme breakdown of that in comparison to the cohesion within 2017′s Forget, with a visual treatment to match its occult oddity. Latest preview, the awesomely-titled “Pumpkin Attack On Mommy and Daddy”, delivers more in the sheer terror sonic department. The track was written by Angela Seo with help from Stewart and Los Angeles performance artist Elliott Reed, and is similarly fucked in its electronic decay overlaid by spoken word outbursts. Seo once again collaborated with Anna Lian Tes to create the listen’s video, which features some new facets of surreal vintage horror themes as its predecessor. Xiu Xiu have also mapped out a huge world tour in support of the new album.

14th June >> (@zenitenglish) Pope Francis: Migration is About Persons, not Numbers Message to Second Holy See-Mexico Conference on International Migration “I would like to point out that the issue of migration is not simply one of numbers, but of persons, each with his or her own history, culture, feelings, and aspirations…,” the Pope said his message to Second Holy See-Mexico Conference on International Migration. “These persons, our brothers, and sisters, need “ongoing protection”, independently of whatever migrant status they may have,” the Pope continued. “Their fundamental rights and their dignity need to be protected and defended. Particular concern must be shown for migrant children and their families, those who are victims of human trafficking rings, and those displaced due to conflicts, natural disasters, and persecution.” The conference was held in the Vatican, in the Casina Pio IV. It was promoted by the Secretariat for Relations with States of the Secretariat of State, and by the Embassy of Mexico to the Holy See, with the collaboration of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Migrants and Refugees Section of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. The Pope’s message was read by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Vatican Secretary for Relations with States: Message of the Holy Father I greet all those taking part in this Second Holy See – Mexico Conference on International Migration and wish especially to thank the organizers and presenters. This meeting is taking place on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the United Mexican States and the Holy See. It is thus an opportunity to strengthen and renew the bonds of cooperation and understanding between us, in order to continue to work jointly on behalf of the needy and the marginalized in our society. At this time, when the International Community is engaged in two processes aimed at the adoption of two global compacts, one on refugees and the other on safe, orderly and regular migration, I encourage you in your work and your efforts to ground responsibility for the shared global management of international migration in the values of justice, solidarity and compassion. This demands a change in mindset: we must move from considering others as threats to our comfort to valuing them as persons whose life experience and values can contribute greatly to the enrichment of our society. For this to happen, our basic approach must be “to encounter the other, to welcome, to know and to acknowledge him or her” (Homily for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, 14 January 2018). In order to acknowledge and respond to the current migration situation, the assistance of the entire international community is needed, since its transnational dimension exceeds the capacities and resources of many States. Such international cooperation is important at every stage of migration: from departing one’s country of origin all the way to reaching one’s destination, as well as facilitating reentry and transit. In each of these countries, migrants are vulnerable, feeling alone and isolated. The recognition of this fact is vitally important if we wish to give a concrete and dignified response to this humanitarian challenge. Finally, I would like to point out that the issue of migration is not simply one of numbers, but of persons, each with his or her own history, culture, feelings and aspirations… These persons, our brothers, and sisters, need “ongoing protection”, independently of whatever migrant status they may have. Their fundamental rights and their dignity need to be protected and defended. Particular concern must be shown for migrant children and their families, those who are victims of human trafficking rings, and those displaced due to conflicts, natural disasters, and persecution. All of them hope that we will have the courage to tear down the wall of “comfortable and silent complicity” that worsens their helplessness; they are waiting for us to show them concern, compassion, and devotion. I give thanks to God for your work and service, and I encourage you to continue your efforts to respond to the plea of our brothers and sisters, who ask us to recognize them as such, to give them an opportunity to live in dignity and peace, and in so doing, to contribute to the development of peoples. To all, I willingly impart my Apostolic Blessing. From the Vatican, 14 June 2018 © Libreria Editrice Vatican 14th JUNE 2018 18:06HUMAN RIGHTS AND JUSTICE

Over perilous odds, the late Hank Aaron leaves behind legacy of determination, benevolence | The Atlanta Voice In this May 17, 1970, file photo, Atlanta Braves’ Hank Aaron, center, who became the ninth player in Major League history to get 3,000 hits, kisses a baseball alongside Famer Stan Musial and Braves owner Bill Bartholomay, in Cincinnati. Bartholomay, the former Braves owner who moved the team from Milwaukee to Atlanta in 1966, died Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, according to his daughter, Jamie. He was 91. Bartholomay sold the Braves to Ted Turner in 1976 but remained as chairman of the team’s board of directors until 2003, when he assumed an emeritus role. (AP Photo/Gene Smith, File) For many, Henry Louis Aaron was the epitome of what a man is supposed to be: a servant leader, a master of a trade, and above all else, both honorable and dignified.  The man who came to be known as “Hammerin’ Hank” possessed each of those qualities in abundance. Not only was he an exemplary baseball player — he closed out his playing days as Major League Baseball’s all-time home run king with 755 home runs, and holding more than 21 records — he would later become an executive for the Atlanta Braves for more than 40 seasons while also emerging as one of the city’s most beloved philanthropists. He passed away whilst sleeping last Friday, Jan. 22 in his Atlanta home. He was 86 years old. Aaron is survived by his wife of 50 years, Billye, and daughter, Ceci. He also had five children with his first wife, Barbara Lucas. On Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves, with Billye in attendance, announced the creation of the Henry Louis Aaron Fund, which will be used to increase minority participation in baseball. The fund already includes a $1 million donation from the Braves and separate $500,000 donations made by both the MLB and the MLB Players Association. “God gave him the talent, and he used that talent to become the greatest baseball player of all time,” Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman said in a tribute video. “But, more importantly, he used it to make our city, our country, and the world, a better place. For those who were blessed enough to know Hank, he left a lifetime of impact with every encounter. His life made you want to better your own.” Aaron’s career spanned 23 seasons between the Milwaukee Braves, the Atlanta Braves, and the Milwaukee Brewers.  During his dazzling career, Aaron hit for a .305 batting average, possessed a .374 on-base percentage, and an exemplary .555 slugging percentage. He tallied 624 doubles; 755 home runs; 2,297 RBI; 2,174 runs; 3,771 hits; and 240 stolen bases.  Hammerin’ Hank retired as the all-time home run leader and held the record for more than 33 years. He remains the all-time leader in RBIs and total bases. He also holds the record for the most All-Star games at 25. Yes, his name is all over the record books! However, Hammerin’ Hank also would be known for something deeper than lofty stats: a statesman for African-Americans.  Aaron was born to poverty and segregation on Feb. 5, 1934, in the port city of Mobile, Alabama. He was one of eight children born to Herbert and Estella (Pritchett) Aaron. His father worked in the Mobile shipyards to make ends meet. His mother was a homemaker. Aaron would eventually make it to the Negro Leagues, playing for the Indianapolis Clowns. Aaron was also in negotiations with the New York Giants. He said a difference of $50 kept him from being teammates with Willie Mays. Aaron would make his major league debut with Milwaukee Braves in 1954.  In 1966, the Braves would relocate to Atlanta and that’s where Aaron’s leadership off the field would match his example on the baseball diamond. In 1969, Aaron launched a four-year scholarship program at the historically Black Morris Brown College, covering all expenses for deserving students. It would be his first foray into philanthropy.  Aaron also joined the United Negro College Fund as an advocate during his playing days. Later on, his wife Billye served as the Atlanta-based philanthropy‘s vice president.  In the Sept. 29, 1973 edition of The Atlanta Voice, it was reported the City of Atlanta sought to create the Hank Aaron Foundation Center, as a monument to the player while driving proceeds toward scholarships for Black students who sought to attend historically Black colleges and universities that were supported by the UNCF.  Ultimately, the creation of the UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball in 1983, would be spearheaded by Aaron and Andrew Young instead. “Hank and Billye Aaron’s sincere belief in our motto, ‘A mind is a terrible thing to waste,’ led them to co-found with former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, the first-ever Atlanta Mayor’s Masked Ball,” said Maurice Jenkins, UNCF’s Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “The Mayor’s Masked Ball has become an annual fundraising tradition in Atlanta for more than 30 years, drawing ever-larger crowds each year and breaking the million-dollar mark several years in a row.  “The Mayor’s Masked Ball has now been franchised across the United States to several other cities to help UNCF raise money in other locations because of its model of success—all thanks to the passion and ingenuity of Hank and Billye Aaron,” Jenkins added. As Aaron’s march toward Babe Ruth’s home run record continued, Hammerin’ Hank would face racially-motivated death threats directed toward him, his family, and journalists that chronicled his career. In spite of the vitriol, Aaron continued to perform with unmatched grace and unrivaled humility. He would tell legendary New York Times sportswriter William C. Rhoden, “April 8, 1974, really led up to turning me off on baseball.” “It really made me see for the first time a clear picture of what this country is about,” he said. “My kids had to live like they were in prison because of kidnap threats, and I had to live like a pig in a slaughter camp. “I had to duck. I had to go out the back door of the ballparks. I had to have a police escort with me all the time. I was getting threatening letters every single day,” he continued. “All of these things have put a bad taste in my mouth, and it won’t go away. They carved a piece of my heart away.” On April 4, 1974, Aaron hit his 714th home run against the Cincinnati Reds, on the six-year anniversary of the murder of The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.  Four days later on April 8, in front of 53,775 people at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, Aaron would hit his 715th home run off of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Al Downing.  Fabled broadcaster Vin Scully said, “A Black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of a baseball icon.”  Aaron’s parents met him at home plate. Herbert Aaron Sr. threw his arms around his son while his mother, Estella, kissed him and hugged him with all her might. It would be the moment that the quiet lad from Mobile would crack a smile for the world to see.  He grabbed a microphone to say, “I thank God it’s all over with,” as photographers and reporters surrounded him. A further irony of Aaron’s 715th home run on April 8, would be its coincidence of the six-year anniversary of King’s funeral. As trailblazers and champions for equity, the two would forever be linked in history. Aaron had a passion for discovering young baseball talent while nurturing his business acumen.  Braves owner, CNN founder, and Chairman Ted Turner appointed him an executive for the Braves in 1980. He served 13 years as Atlanta’s vice president of player development.  Notably, Aaron gave a young minor league catcher his first job that year. That player would become current Braves manager, Brian Snitker. “I wouldn’t be sitting here on this call if it wasn’t for Hank Aaron,” Snitker said. “He’s the reason I’m here. I’ve said many times, I’ve been blessed to be around Hall of Famers throughout my career, none more important to my career, my family, and my life than Hank Aaron.” Aaron’s offices were on the 14th floor of the CNN Center, not far from Turner’s.  In 1996, Aaron purchased two West End restaurants from Churchs’ Atlanta-based parent, America’s Favorite Chicken Co. (AFC). “If the playing field is not level, then we need to have some way for people to step in and say, `Hey, we need to give people an opportunity,’ ” Aaron said in a 1996 interview. “But not everybody wants to go into fast food. We’ve got contractors and people who want to work in government.” And that was the epitome of Aaron. He was emblematic of the foreign policy mantra of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt: “speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.”  !function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s) if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function()n.callMethod? n.callMethod.apply(n,arguments):n.queue.push(arguments); if(!f._fbq)f._fbq=n;n.push=n;n.loaded=!0;n.version='2.0'; n.queue=[];t=b.createElement(e);t.async=!0; t.src=v;s=b.getElementsByTagName(e)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(t,s)(window, document,'script', 'https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/fbevents.js'); fbq('init', '174966086481892'); fbq('track', 'PageView'); Source link Orbem News #Aaron #Atlanta #atlantabraves #atlantatechnicalcollege #benevolence #billyeaaron #determination #Hank #hankaaron #henrylouisaaron #Late #Leaves #Legacy #MLB #news #Odds #perilous #philanthropy #sports #topstories #uncf #Voice

A Big Milestone
Trigger warning if you read further.
This is something that I don’t really talk a lot about but I’ve come to terms with it and I feel like now is my time to speak up and share my story.
It’s March 14th 2018 and I’m currently doing my makeup and getting glammed up to see my girl Demi in concert tonight.
I’m my happiest that I’ve ever been with wonderful friends whom I love immensely and a job that I couldn’t be happier with of teaching my students in my internship program.
This is 21 year old me. A person who has grown. Who has accepted themselves.
But if you would have encountered a past version me, this would not have been the case. I was a broken individual who was reserved and shut everyone out. Barely speaking. Drowning in her thoughts.
I would never consider myself an angry individual but I took my pain out on myself by creating more pain. I resorted to razors against my skin. I resorted to hiding my scars with sweatshirts and jeans. I was drowning in my own pain. I genuinely would have been surprised if you told me I would see my 21st birthday.
Living in a family who doesn’t believe that mental illness is an issue makes it hard. You go unmedicated. Untreated. Undiagnosed. You’re forced to deal with these inner demons on your own while you paint on a smile and go about your day yet, inside, you are still drowning. Drowning in a sea of darkness. Self diagnosing yourself and trying your best to fix your broken soul.
I lived for 5 years with this inner pain that manifested itself in my high school years and progressed through my first year of college.
In high school, my friends left. My old friends, at least. I had no one. I was the kid sitting in the back of the room doing their work quietly and avoiding everyone at all costs. Bullies were another problem and I will never forget being told that I should kill myself by someone I thought was a good friend. I thought, maybe I should. My social anxiety started to form. It’s mild and the least of my worries. I was alone and I thought I was okay with it but I wasn’t. I was drowning.
My first year of college, I hated my major but everyone told me to get over it. That I would be making big money someday and saving lives in a hospital. How was I supposed to do that when I couldn’t even save myself?
I came home and locked myself in my room every night. I cried and cried into my textbooks until there were no more tears to cry. Then I would lock myself in the bathroom and again take my pain out on myself. This happened on a cycle nightly until I had had enough.
To this day, no one in my family knows this struggle except for me and few of my friends do. Maybe one or two and that’s simply because they asked about the cuts on my arms.
If you’ve read this far you might be wondering why in the world I am writing this.
I’m writing this because today marks 2 years that I have been clean from self harming.
2 years since I picked up a razor blade to injure myself. 2 years since I have scratched at my skin in hopes of drawing blood.
2 years ago today I put down the razor and told myself that I was worthy. 2 years ago I decided that I had some say in what my future was and I dropped my nursing classes to pick up education ones to become a teacher. I decided that I could go on. And here I am today to prove that you can overcome your demons too.
I’m not going to lie and say that it’s easy because it isn’t. I had my moments. I had my anniversaries in high school that turned into me picking up a blade again. I still have my days where I feel depressed. I still have my days where I feel like I need to self harm. Where I need to skip a meal. Where I need to stress eat. I still have those days. I still have things I’m struggling with personally. But, it’s so much better than before.
But I’ve found writing. I’ve found music. I’ve found ways to turn my anger and sadness into art and I think that is truly something amazing.
Please if you ever feel as though you can’t do this anymore, reach out and speak to me. I want to help. I love you all so much.
I’ll get down off of my soap box now. Sorry for the mushiness I’m just really happy with myself on this day.

Here is the complete Animedia interview with series producer Shuichi Taguchi. Translation by Dephender:
"Pokémon" celebrates 20 years on the air this year. It appears the show is heading in a new direction with the episodes airing this September. We've had producer Shuichi Taguchi tell us a bit about what the classic characters that will appear one after another in this story will be doing. Q: Kasumi and Takeshi will be appearing for the first time in many years in the episodes airing September 14th and September 21st. A: This is the 20th anniversary of the show, a year to remember, so we wanted to do something nice for all the fans that have been supporting us since day 1. Kasumi and Takeshi are also characters we'd like the children that learned about Pokémon more recently to be familiar with, so we had them appear in the show. Q: "Sun & Moon" has a lot more comical depictions than the earlier TV series had. A: Each of the series have a different art style to them, but it might be true that Sun & Moon's style is overly different from all the others. Kasumi and Takeshi have appeared throughout the show all the way from the very first series, so we took great care in working out how to draw them without making them look out of place in this particular show. This purely relates to character design, though, personality-wise they're the same as always: Takeshi loves beautiful ladies and Kasumi is a cute and lively tomboy. Q: Since these episodes are set in the Kanto region, lots of nostalgic Pokémon are going to appear, but it seems it'll be fun to compare them with the Pokémon from the Alola region as well. A: We definitely want you to compare and contrast the Pokémon living in all the different regions. We think scenes like the one where Nassy gets shocked at the sight of the Alolan Nassy will let even children realize once again how these regions differ from each other. Of course, lots of other Pokémon will appear as well, so have fun comparing. This is the Sun & Moon episode with the most characters in it, so I'd like you to try counting how many Pokémon there are in it. Q: What about Pokémon battles? A: The Pokémon School students are getting a hands-on experience with gym matches at the Hanada Gym, and the super intense battles between Takeshi and Kasumi's mega evolutions and Satoshi and the others' Z-Moves are an absolute must see. During the battle, Takeshi might just turn into something you remember from the games...... Also, while it's not exactly a battle, the expression of affection during the scene where Satoshi and Kentauros reunite with the Kentauros at the Okido Laboratories is just as intense as that gym match. These episodes have lots and lots of scenes that feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time, and we'd be really happy if we manage to make you enjoy the elements of both Kanto and Alola at the same time. Q: Now I'd like to expect other episodes crossing over with other regions or something along those lines in the future. A: Well, they might go to all kinds of regions as part of extracurricular classes, and they might encounter and reunite with all kinds of characters... Who knows? Please continue to support the show.

The tour has a total of 34 performances, both domestic and international. Original merchandise are sold at various performance venues Announcer: Attention!! Starting now, we are commencing the sales of goods outside of the wall! Announcer: Dedicate your hearts! The start of sales is accompanied by a passionate announcement! (They also dedicate their hearts when you receive your purchased item) The stage is full of highlights!! Impactful footages from the anime and the actual stage performance come together in a perfect union! I was able to enjoy a unique experience regardless of where I was seated When I was on the second floor, I was taken aback by the detail in stage lightning… The stage effects aren’t the only amazing things about this live! More than 70 artists (including guest performers) have participated in this live, From rising stars to veterans! Winner of the gold record platinum award Performed the opening theme to Taiga drama NHK Kohaku Utagassen participant 15 days of concert at Nippon Budoukan Japan Record Award, Best Arranger Award I’ll introduce just a couple of them ≪P2-3 [right side half]≫ [Moshi kono kabe no naka ga ikken no ie datoshitara] Vocal: Mami Yanagi The song was featured in the single “Jiyuu e no Shingeki”, but it was nonetheless performed during the “Shingeki no Kiseki” tour. I could feel a deep stirring in my chest after hearing young boy’s resounding invitation to “freedom”, more powerful than in the last tour! [14 moji no dengon] Vocal: Eiko Matsumoto The song begins with a beautiful piano melody, wit- h great care in depicting the story of C- arla, Eren’s mother. One may liste- n to it from the perspective of a child, or that of a parent. I also thin- k that it’s a supporters’ song for the ver- y meaning of life, applicable t- o any one of us. Known as the mother’s song from Linked Horizon, it quickl- y found its way deep into the fans’ h- earts. You will definitely cry. Th- ank you for giving bi- rth to this song. [Saigo no Senka] Vocal: Tsukika A song about Ilse, a member of the Survey Corps before Eren’s generation. The lyrics describe what happened to her using a storm of clever rhymes! The song starts with a rush of adrenaline and then transitions into the scene where Ilse encounters a giant, And the entire hall was enthralled by the world shown to them. [Soyoku no Hikari] Vocal: MANAMI A song about Petra, who belonged to Levi’s team. Both her strong resolution as a soldier and her personal feelings are conveyed through this song. The multiple meanings of “light”, Along with the choreography of this performance Left me in awe of its beauty and tragedy. [Kanojo wa Tsumetai Hitsugi no Naka de] Vocal: Misaki Fukunaga A song depicting Annie until her sealing into the crystal. The song offers a unique interpretation for the thoughts running through her mind at that time, And the wavering emotions that were conveyed truly tugged at my heartstrings. The songstress, dancers and the anime footage all came together and did a great job at bringing the world of AoT to life. ≪P2-3 [left side half]≫ Guitar: Takeshi Nishiyama The bandmaster for this tour. His strong personality definitely showed in his performance of “Jiyuu no Daisho”, Where he ran up the stairs in the center of the stage. His blue guitar features the mark of Linked Horizon! Bass: Atsushi Hasegawa During this tour, he revealed the fabled song composed by Revo, titled “My heart’s on the right, whatchu gonna do ‘bout it?” His took the center stage with his solo during “Jiyuu no Tsubasa”, and it was totally badass! Guitar: YUKI He’s the one who played the bulk of the unison melodies in “Shingeki no Kiseki”. Apparently, his dive bombing during “Shinzo wo Sasageyo!” is meant to evoke the neighing of horses. Keyboards: Koji Igarashi He also played the melodica during “14 moji no dengon”! He unveiled his treasured solo arrangement of “Soyoku no Hikari” alongside Mr. Ittetsu. Drums: JUN-JI He really knocks it out of the park with his impressive drum performance! The teru teru bozu that hangs from his drum set is orange, his lucky color. Violin: Gen Ittetsu Leader of “Gen Ittetsu Strings” During the final performance, he and fellow 1st violinist Cameroun Maki pulled off an amazing performance where they both played on the same violin! Dancers: Yosuke Sato OBA Takeshi Matsumura Nobuhiro Shibuya Akane Takasuki Ayu Hosoki Minami Yajima They showed off a series of [AoT Dances] which broke all sorts of genre barriers! Vocal: Revo The commander of the Linked Horizon Corps. He’s responsible for all the lyrics and composition in Linked Horizon. The leader of Gensou Gakudan (Fantasy Band) Sound Horizon. His knowledge of Attack on Titan and his love for it are both exceptional! ≪P4-5 [right side half]≫ The MC featured various inside jokes local to the region In Hokkaido (Namahage mask) “Are naughty jaegars around?” In Kanazawa (Gold leaf sunglasses) “I can’t see.” As well as local mascots Anyways It’s a whirlwind of emotions! Feeling passionate -> crying -> laughing -> I’m a wall now -> crying again -> dedicating -> The encore not only featured Linked Horizon’s past songs, but also some of Sound Horizon’s classic songs! “Utsukushiki Mono” “Junai ♡Juuji Houka” The songstresses’ improvised dancing during [Seishun wa Hanabi no Youni] is simply adorable I was also constantly floored by the guest performers as well! Horn, brass, percussion, harp, woodwind, choir, and the narrator Sascha. It’s rare that I get to see so many live performances by the same artists who were responsible for bringing the music to life, and that experience truly moved me. Parts of this passionate performance can be viewed on the official site, so check it out! URL http://shingeki.linked-horizon.com/ An acoustic guitar was left on stage during the first song [Nikagetsugo no Kimi e] And after the last song’s performance, Commander Revo left behind his guitar in the same position before taking off He was a step ahead of us, departing for the next performance linked together like chains... ≪P4-5 [left side half]≫ Triumph of Linked Horizon Live Tour Shingeki no Kiseki All members assemble Triumph performances will be held on 2018 January 13th (Sat) and 14th (Sun) at the Yokohama Arena!! MY TOP 5 WRESTLERS OF 2018
1a, KAZUCHIKA OKADA: The best big match worker this side of Kenta Kobashi had another outstanding in-ring year. Whilst not quite as phenomenal as his 2017, The Rainmaker showed he’s still the best around. Lets just take a look at some of the highlights of his year: Surprisingly defeated Tetsuya Naito in the main event (and best match) of WK12. Rolled over SANADA in what was up to that point, the best match I’d ever seen Cold Skull in on February 10th. Put an end to Zack Sabre Jr’s incredible winstreak by beating him in a technical masterclass at Ryogoku Kokugikan on April 1st. Made history by becoming the first person to reach 12 successful defences of the IWGP Heavyweight Title, by defeating former record holder Hiroshi Tanahashi in another classic on May 4th. Finally dropped the belt after a superb two-year reign on June 9th, when he lost an epic 2 out of 3 falls match to Kenny Omega in one of the greatest wrestling matches ever. Had an excellent 30 minute draw with Minoru Suzuki in the midst of a monstrous typhoon on June 23rd, which was miraculous given the conditions. Put ZSJ over clean in another excellent match in the UK on July 1st. Was the standout competitor of the A Block in the G1, which culminated in another ***** classic with Tanahashi on August 10th at Budokan Hall, and another on September 23rd in Kobe which was even better. Defeated Marty Scurll in a great All In encounter on September 1st in Chicago, and was on the losing end of a tremendous tag outing with Tomohiro Ishii against The Golden Lovers in Long Beach on September 30th. I think it’s pretty safe to say that his WK13 match with Jay White will likely be the best of Switchblade’s career, and that his place at the top of the NJPW mountain is safe for sme time to come.
1b, KENNY OMEGA: Coming in joint first place, The Best Bout Machine had another fanatstic year. He beat Chris Jericho in a tremendous brawl at WK12, which exceeded expectations. Dropped the US Title to Jay White in a great outing on January 28th, but was turned on by Cody, which saw he and Kota Ibushi reunite as The Golden Lovers. The Lovers would go on to have numerous exceptional tag matches throughout the year, most notably against The Young Bucks in a fantastic bout based around storytelling on March 25th in Long Beach, a Korakuen Hall classic against Ishii and Ospreay in September, Okada and Ishii, again in Long Beach on September 30th, and on the final New Japan show of 2018 against Tanahashi and Ospreay on December 15th, which was probably the best doubles clash of 2018. Finally defeated Okada to win the IWGP Heavyweight belt in a truly superb 2/3 falls match at Dominion on June 9th, which was the best match of either man’s career. First succesful defense against Cody in San Franscisco was an insane brawl in which he suffered a broken heel. Had a fantastic G1, despite the injury, and had killer matches in the B Block with the likes of Naito, Goto, SANADA, Ishii and others, before finally losing the Block to BFF Ibushi in a blow-away match on August 11th at a sold out Budokan Hall. Beat the artist sometimes known as Pentagon Jr in a fab outing at All In. Defended the IWGP Title in another war against Tomohiro Ishii in Hiroshima on September 15th, and in a 3-Way at Ryogoku Kokugikan on October 8th against Ibushi and Cody in another great match. The upcoming WK13 Main Event against Tanahashi on January 4th is almost guaranteed to be a classic.
2. HIROSHI TANAHASHI: The legend would have possibly ranked first in this list, had the first half of his year been as consistent as the second, and had he not been hampered by injuries. Beat Jay White in a good match at WK12, which was hurt by a lack of crowd heat. Dropped the Intercontinental Title to Minoru Suzuki on January 27th via stoppage in a fanatastic bout built around storytelling. Took a couple of months off to rehab his injured knee, and returned in the New Japan Cup, making it all the way to the finals on March 21st, where he lost an excellent match to Zack Sabre Jr. With the exception of a losing effort to Okada on May 4th in an outstanding contest, spent the rest of the year up until the G1 in tags. He looked to be ‘passed his best’ in these months, then was resurgegent like a pheonix from the ashes in the G1 Climax, and despite certain physical limitions, appeared to be back to the Tanahashi of old. Looked amazing in the Climax, which he ultimately won, beating Ibushi in the finals which was another classic. Successfully defended the briefcase against Okada in his fourth ***** of the year on Sept 23rd, and Jay White in an excellent showing on October 8th. Ended 2018 in the years best tag match on December 15th in a Dream Tag with Ospreay taking on Omega and Ibushi. Whilst maybe not as flashy, or consistently as amazing a wrestler from month to month as the others on the list, the veteran always pulls it out of the bag on the big stage (i.e. when he needs to), and when it comes to emotional investment, The Ace is truly unmatched.
3, TOMOHIRO ISHII: The Stone Pitbull proved once again that he is one of the most consistent, and underrated, workers on the planet. Started the year by winning the NEVER 6 Man Titles with Toru Yano and Beretta in an entertaining gauntlet match at WK12, though the team dropped the belts the next night to the Bullet Club Tongan Squad. Lost a fantastic first round New Japan Cup bout to Michael Elgin on March 9th, but rebounded by pinning the on-the-push Zack Sabre Jr and winning the British Heavyweight Title at the Rev Pro show in New Orleans on April 6th, in another great outing. Successfully defended the belt against Keith Lee in an amazing contest in London on May 11th. Teamed with Okada in Long Beach on March 25th to lose a great outing to Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki, whom he would ultimately spend the rest of the year seemingly trying to kill in a blood feud. The teams rematched in a fantastic British Tag Title Match on June 30th in Milton Keyens, which again saw the CHAOS duo lose, then Ishii dropped the British Title to Suzuki the next night in Manchester in an all-out war. He came into the G1 with all guns blazing, having absolutely phenomenal outings with Naito, Goto, Ibushi, ZSJ, Juice Robinson, SANADA and even scored a clean win over Kenny Omega on August 4th in Osaka in one of the best matches of either man’s respective careers, and the years second best match. He left the G1 having pinned every champion he faced, and recieved a shot at Omega’s IWGP Title on September 15th, which he ultimately lost. Regained the British Heavyweight Title from Suzuki on October 14th in another killer brawl in London, then vanquished The Ill-Natured Man again in a superbly stiff war in Osaka on November 3rd. Ishii is set to defend the belt against Zack Sabre Jr at Tokyo Dome, which should be another quality bout.
4, KOTA IBUSHI: With his unwavering ability to seemingly work any style, The Golden Star had a stellar year. It began with him defeating Cody in an excellent grudge match at Wrestle Kingdom. He reformed the Golden Lovers with Kenny Omega at the end of january, and had numerous jaw-dropping tag team outings throughout the year, the most underrated (and possibly best) of which is their outstanding win against Ishii and Ospreay at Korakuen Hall on September 7th. Put Cody over in a great match on May 3rd in Fukuoka, then was pretty much stuck in Bullet Club limbo, until he charged out of the blocks with a superb G1 run. Had phenomenal, and completely different matches in the Climax with pretty much everyone. He defeated Zack Sabre Jr in a mat-based classic on July 15th, pinned Juice Robinson in a great match on July 19th, carried Toru Yano to his best match in some years on the 21st, then had the best match of SANADA’s career on the 26th. Things only got better from there as he had two phenomenal, but genuinely frightening, matches with Ishii and Tetsuya Naito, both of which he won. Defeated partner Omega in a Budokan classic to win the B Block, before falling to eventual winner Tanahashi in one of the top three greatest G1 finals in history. Helped tear the house down in the all-action All In six man main event. Ended 2018 by defeating Hirooki Goto to win the NEVER Openweight Title in a great match on December 9th, and is set to defend the title against Will Ospreay at the Dome, which could be one of the most amazing matches you’ll ever see.
5, WILL OSPREAY: The 25 year old Ariel Assassin had his best in-ring year yet in 2018. Won the IWGP Jr Title in a fantastic four way with Marty Scurll, Hiromu Takahashi and KUSHIDA at WK12. Defended the title against Hiromu in an amazing, if somewhat scary, high flying match in Osaka on February 10th. Held his own against Okada en route to a Rainmaker induced defeat in a choice showing at the 46th Anniversary Show on March 6th. Was a late replacement for an injured Rey Mysterio and had an excellent showing against living legend Jushin Thunder Liger on March 25th in Long Beach. Nearly paralysed and/or killed himself in his amazing defence against Scrull at Sumo Hall on April 1st, which was one of the years best. Defeated KUSHIDA on May 4th in a fantastic bout, was laid out by Taiji Ishimori in the post-match, and sebsequently lost to the new Bone Soldier in the opening round of the BOSJ on May 18th. Was consistently great in the BOSJ, especially in contests with the likes of ACH, BUSHI and Flip Gordon. Dropped the belt to Takahashi in an incredible outing at Dominion, then tempered his style somewhat due to recurring injuries. Had truly tremendous matches with opponents as diverse as WALTER, Matt Riddle, and El Phantasmo in Europe and beyond. Lost to Scurll in another really great match in Long Beach on September 30th. Was likley going to win the NEVER strap in the Autumn, but had to pull out of the tour due to a rib injury. Carried Taichi’s worthles ass to an excellent, ****+ match on December 9th, which was a miracle. Has been lighting up tag matches with Ibushi all year, and their upcoming NEVER Title Match on January 4th will likely be one for the ages.
