Exactly When 3D Printers Will Boom
It was agreed that 3D printers would be the doom of invention and that they would eventually be found in every American home. showcasing a brand-new era of do-it-yourself enthusiasts and entrepreneurs who would lead us into the blueprint for future developments. What we actually got was a small group of people creating some interesting products for a far more niche market. A real letdown. These days, it's clear that businesses are using 3D printers to quickly produce models of parts, but it's also clear that not everyone has been completely delighted with these machines. But still. This is the reason that during the next few years, 3D printer sales are almost certain to soar. As was previously said, AMD, Intel, Qualcomm, and Nvidia have significantly expanded their R&D departments. Apart from the fact that these companies are always producing ever-more-impressive equipment, it's clear where processing power is headed as they're also looking for ways to make it more refined, with smaller dimensions and improved power efficiency. a significant amount of force contained in a small bundle that is effective all day. Powerful workstations were enormous when I first left for college, so I set aside something for my gaming PC that could almost fit in my backpack. These days, I can get 100 times the power out of a device that is practically the same size! For 3D printers worldwide, this democratization of registration power and versatile figuring will be a boon. As power handling advances, creating and managing computer-aided design programs and planning 3D objects will become increasingly simpler. We'll start to see competent level PCs trickle down to the masses in just one or two more processor generations!
Decentralization: The term "decentralization" is typically used in reference to NFTs and other cryptographic stages, as well as the MetaVerse. Nonetheless, I acknowledge that decentralization will play a big role in the development of 3D printers in the coming years. With open platforms already in place to market and sell your 3D plan manifestations, I believe that 3D printers will grow dramatically in a short amount of time thanks to decentralization and the independent blockchains that liberate a great deal of creativity.
Environmental Change, Environmental Turmoil, Environmental Emergency, or whatever term you want to use, is manageability. It is here, and our task is to put a stop to it. With manageability emerging as a primary motivation for many associations I acknowledge that the world will soon be overtaken by 3D printers due to their ability to employ a wide variety of recycled materials. This is obviously not some sort of silver shot arrangement. We cannot just recycle our way to a more environmentally friendly society, but I do believe that 3D printers will provide an additional solution for the global drive crisis in the long run, protecting both the environment and humankind.

Every fun post on here that encourages people to have hobbies/be creative always gets an avalanche of "Some people are poor Karen" type reactions and respectfully, you're all super annoying. I've never lived above the poverty line and this is a list of hobbies I have that were cheap or entirely free:
Read books: Go to the library, lend a book from a friend
knitting, crochet, embroidery: Get some needles from the bargan store and ask around, people have leftovers from projects they'll happily give you. Thrift stores also often carry leftover fabric and other supplies. And talk about your hobby loud enough and an old lady will show up and gift you their whole collection, because there are way more old ladies with a closet full of wool than there are grandchildren who want to take up the hobby.
Origami/paper crafts: get some scrap paper and scissors, watch a youtube tutorial
walking: put on shoes open door
pilates/yoga/etc: get a mat or just use your carpet, watch a youtube tutorial
Houseplants: look online for people that swap plant cuttings. There are always people giving out stuff for free to get you started. If you're nice enough you'll probably get extra
gardening: You're gonna need some space for this one of course but you can just play around with seeds and cuttings from your grocery vegetables.
aquarium keeping is a bit of an obscure one but I got most of my stuff second hand for cheap or free and now I have a few thousand euro worth of material and plants.
drawing/art: You get very far just playing with bargan store materials. I did my entire art degree with mostly those.
writing: Rotate a cow in your head for free
cooking: again one you can make very expensive, but there are many budget recipes online for free. Look for African or Asian shops to get good rice and cheap spices.
Join a non-profit: Cities will have creative organisations who let you use woodworking machines or screen presses or laser cutters or 3D printers etc etc etc for a small fee. Some libraries also lend out materials.
candle making: You need some molds (cheap), wick, two old cooking pots for au bain marie melting and a ton of scrap candles, ask people to keep them aside for you.
a herbarium, flower pressing: Leaves are free, wildflowers too, ask if you can take from peoples gardens.
puzzles: thrift stores, your grandma probably
Citizen science: look for projects in your area or get the iNaturalist app
And lastly and most importantly: Share! Share your supllies, share your knowledge. Surround yourself with other creative people and before you know it someone will give you a pot of homemade jam and when you want to paint your kabinet someone will have leftover paint in just the right color and you can give them a homemade candle in return and everyone is having fun and building skills and friendships and not a cent is exchanged. We have always lived like this, it's what humans are build to do.
And all of it sure beats sitting behind a computer going "No stranger, I refuse to let myself have a good time."
Anyway I'm logging off bc I'm making some badges for a friend who cooked for me and then I'm going to fix some holes in everyones clothes.

You collect BJDs??? Can you please tell me where you buy some? I’ve been wanting one for so long and only found design models on Etsy, 1 actual doll that cost $8000, and literally nothing else. I gave up on the search and have no clue any irl stores that could sell them 😭🙏
I wouldn't buy anything off etsy unless you're grabbing a Kabbit print, and those should only run you about $100 max for a blank doll. I'm going to put doll hobby talk under the cut, but yeah I can give you my rec-list
I bought my first BJD off of cpfairyland which is the official Minifee retailer, but if you're in the USA I would also suggest checking out Denver doll emporium! They have a few different brands and quick shipping if you buy in stock. Minifee are great starting dolls, they have a ton of different heads, they're an industry standard and you can buy a doll with their makeup already done. Which means you can put money towards clothes and wigs(which is the fun part anyway).
I am an anti-recast hobbyist, and I genuinely recommend not buying recasts if you want to make friends in the hobby. So I'm only going to be telling you legit sites, which also means dolls are going to be a little more expensive(but I'll give you some less expensive recs too).
Alice's Collective bjd(acbjd) is a great site the acts as a third party for a ton of different brands. If you want a doll that looks a little(or a lot) different from the standard fashion doll they have a lot of great options.
Jane's Dolland is another sight that acts as a third party seller. They sell blind box tiny bjds(that are great quality I have a few)(only $30 too) and a few other cheap brands. You might have to paint the face yourself, or find a repaint artist, but the dolls themselves can be as low as $50. I actually bought an Imomo doll from them to customize for my sister last Christmas and she was really great for a beginner bjd.
Withdolls has some tiny bjds that are really fucking cute. I have one and he was under $200. Their dolls are adorable, but their tiny doll sizing is a little hard to shop for.
I mentioned Kabbit dolls! Kabbit is a 3D print file available for sale on etsy super customizable and cheap if you have a 3d printer! Or a library with a 3d printer! I've done 3D prints through my local library and I have a friend that printed a Kabbit they really like. Dollightful also has a free tiny bunny bjd on thingyverse I think.
I have bought dolls off of Facebook and Instagram, but you gotta be willing to be a little mean if you buy second hand. Always make sure you get a certificate of authenticity! And know what the doll you want is worth! I collect 1/4 MSD sized dolls, the last 2 heads I bought were about $100 each but they were also harder to find heads. One of the heads was being sold with a body for $150(but I only wanted the head so I overpaid) so you can find cheap(authentic) dolls if you're looking.
I also buy a lot of artist dolls on pre-order. Which means I follow the artists on Instagram and then I am very patient, and lucky. BJD buying is a lot of hurry up and wait if you want to go the independent artist route. You can always check bjdsale on Instagram, the tag is full and people are always selling.
Depending on where you live you can check on Facebook to see if you have a local bjd group! I have one in my area and we are always excited to help new people in the hobby!! They'd have dolls for sale, but also would have more ideas on where you could buy online. Dolls are such a niche hobby everyone sort of knows everyone, and we love sharing with new folks!! If you have any other questions you can send me a dm and I'm happy to talk more ❤️

My Facebook memories reminded my that this documentary on Cosplay, which I wanls in, premiered 11 YEARS AGO.
I watched some of it today and I am amazed at how much cosplay, creation, and sharing our creations has changed. There are materials and technologies now that didn't exist when I started. There was no Worbla, no 3D printers.
Very few companies made products for cosplay -- coloured contacts, coloured wigs better than Halloween quality, sewing patterns, they weren't readily available. You had to binge-shop at Halloween Sales, special order, or go to theatrical supply speciality stores. Or, in my case, all the way to Harajuku.
And TikTok didn't exist. Insta didn't exist. Twitter BARELY existed. The only place to share your costume and carefully rehearsed skits and sketches was during the Masquerade of a convention.
I'm not pining for the past, I want to make that clear. I'm not saying that the way I had to do it, the harder way where you had to carefully pause films and sketch costumes because the resources weren't online and the ability to screencap was limited, was better. I'm not putting a value judgment on it. I'm just saying it was very VERY different.
And I miss cosplay. I'd love to get back into it but I feel intimidated by all these tiktokers and amazing makeup artists. You all have so much talent💜.
Maybe one day...

I beat Pokémon Crystal for the first time!
As i played through Pokémon Crystal for the first time, I simultaneously felt regret at not having grown up with the pokémon series and overwhelmed at how different the older games are!
I enjoyed the music and delightful 8-bit pokémon designs. There's something very charming about the overall presentation. Importantly, I was so happy to play as a female character! It was a lot of fun discovering this region for the first time, even though it was difficult at times to change my play style to accommodate this older title.
I have played games with HMs before, but I guess its been a while. And playing this just really feels like constantly having a doduo peck at your head... reminding you incessantly how annoying HMs are. Almost as annoying as HMs are the waaaaayyyy too frequent phone calls! I was happy at first to see a way to rebattle and earn more money and xp, but by Arceus did I not yet realize how often the trainers would call. It's so bad It makes me question if it was ever playtested at all. It's so disruptive!
This is my first game without the fairy type, and without experience share. So that's been a learning curve as well. I feel quite spoiled by the newer games in how much less grinding is required to have a decent team. Of course, I always support the players that want a more challenging experience, but for me... I don't want to go back to the grind fest lol. Admittedly, I had to spend a lot of time readjusting my team as I learned some differences with this older game, and that inflated my playtime. Fortunately, it wasn't that bad. I did a lot of mindless grinding on Victory Road while walking on the treadmill or watching documentaries, so it didn't feel like I was really wasting my time lol.
Given the tech this was originally released on, the chip music is delightful and the Pokémon sprites look great. The encounter music in particular stood out to me and some of the pokemon have such expressive little poses! I swear Graveler never looked cuter. Meganium didn't really serve me particularly well as my partner pokemon, but Sweetpea was cute so oh well lol. I always disliked Jynx, but I got a shiny Smoochum in my odd egg. She ended up being my MVP big time. Thank you, Belinda. I'm sorry I was ever harsh with you! Pupperoni the Arcanine also served me well. And Spicey Gee, my shiny gyarados was welcomed into my party as well. Ms. Pidgey was nice to have in a pinch, and Last Hope the Lanturn was a last minute addition to help with my battle against Lance. I actually took very little damage and never used any potions so I guess I did alright lol.
I have to admit I don't often dabble in pokémon postgames, but I suppose I'm not experiencing the full game if I stop now. So I will fight the urge to move on and see what Kanto has in store for me! Plus, I have to catch the legendaries at the very least.
I do have some complaints with my experience on virtual console. A lot of optional features in Pokémon Crystal were meant for the Gameboy Printer, and while obviously they couldn't support that, they absolutely COULD have tweaked those and other features to work on 3DS, including online trading. None of that matters now though, as Nintendo has shut down support for the 3DS anyway, but STILL. It is a bit of a bummer I can never complete my pokedex if I wanted to.
So with this Johto experience behind me, the only other region I have never visited is Unova! The next pokémon game I play will probably be Black or White!
--------
For clarity, my Kanto experience was Let's Go Eevee and I have never played R/B/Y or FR/LG. I own Red on VC.
My Hoenn experience was Omega Ruby, and I first explored Sinnoh in Shining Pearl.
In the future, I'd love to play SoulSilver and Platinum.

If we're being honest, the first show I go to in Europe being a South African band is probably the only way I was going to get the ball rolling.
Listening: Ruff Majik is doing their Europe tour so I dragged a friend along. If I had a nickel for every psychedelic surf rock fantasy themed band from Pretoria I'd have two nickels. The two accompanying acts were Rocky and his Bootlegs, and Olaf Olafsonn and the Big Bad Trip.
Rocky was apparently doing their first show, solid performance although they did make the decision to spend five minutes in the middle of a song doing sonic landscape bullshit on their pedalboards and then come back in with a dubious closer. That's what we go to live shows for though so I can't complain. Literally cannot find hide nor hair of these guys online, which is a shame because I liked some of their stuff.
Olaf Olafsonn and the Big Bad Trip is a metalish themed psychedelic rock band who performed in some really good masks. Do you like really stupid loud guitar and a synth in there for some reason? This is for you. I do not yet speak Czech so I did not catch the names of any of these songs. Here's something I picked at random.
And Ruff Majik, I'm finally going to link their song "She's Still A Goth" which they are so so proud of. It is incredibly self indulgent. It is not by any means their best song.

Reading: Finished up The Will to Battle, moving on to Perhaps The Stars. The Will to Battle went in broad strokes as I expected, it's the build up, but it is of course still weird as hell. I enjoy the closer look at the despair that surrounds the Utopians, and the reveal that Mycroft has been hallucinating a cast of corpses at all times really makes me wonder what was fictitiously cut from the earlier books by 9A.
I'm sure that Palmer has at least a good chunk of the pre-edit version of those histories written out somewhere. I am much less clear in my vision of what Perhaps the Stars might be like.
Watching: I will link this video of a guy building a nightmare capacitor bank and popping a 500A fuse.

Dudes Rock
Making: 3D printing on hold until I get a sealed bag to store the filament I bought, because my house is so extremely humid all the time and I don't want to ruin a kilogram of filament. I'll invest in a dryer at some point but for now just having sealed dry storage is a must. I've been sketching a lot of designs out though, direct air coolers for my laptop, mounts for taps, filter holders and other camera stuff, etc.
I also started writing a program to help me generate components for building frames out of rod stock and 3D printed mounts. I found a hobby shop within easy reach that stocks steel, aluminium, carbon fibre and brass rod and tube stock which is so extremely handy.
Playing: Breath of the Wild- Yuzu handles emulation admirably. I suspect that being less good at the controls is helping me enjoy the cooking system more. If I was good at this I could probably Dark Souls a lot of these fights, the parry mechanic is pretty robust. Instead, I floundered at the face of the Moderate Test of Strength and, instead of Dark Soulsing it, I went away and decided it'd be more fun to hone my skills elsewhere and come back with better gear, more control, and some extra hearts.
I set up gpu-screen-recorder to do replays which has so far yielded these two.
Tools and Equipment: Ikea Bags are pretty handy. They're the biggest bags that fold flat that you can probably easily get. I use one now to handle shuttling laundry from my washing machine to the line, which is way more convenient than the old collapsible bucket I used to use, while also being smaller.
I also used an Ikea bag to haul my 3D printer home from the post office when the courier couldn't find my address for some reason. It's less than a kilometer but it would have been miserable to heft 10kg of box with no handles.

Where did u get her printed? I also bought the mesh but I keep being turned away by local print places cause she for resin printing and idk where to go online 🥲✊
I went on etsy!! I picked FilamentFarm because their reviews looked really good. The print came out beautiful, basically cleaned up already, & very well packed. it was.... NOT cheap, I will say, but also I'm paying for the service of not having to buy own store and troubleshoot my own resin printer so it was worth it in my eyes.
I just sent them a message via etsy messaging and they responded quickly! When I was looking I did see other 3D resin print services also on etsy, so you can shop around a bit if you want.
good luck!!

Smart Doll owners automatically gain a free license to modify and monetize from our free apparel patterns and 3D files which now include boot patterns - head to the "Free Stuff" section on our online store. Why buy our stuff when you can make your own :-) With a background in making shoes (my father has made a pair or two), we make Smart Doll shoes as miniature human shoes, which include miniature components such as stiffeners and toe puff. However, I simplified the free version of the boot patterns so that folks with experience making Smart Doll garments could understand them - no prior shoe-making experience is needed. However, you still need to have DIY mana and learn a few terms. "Last" refers to the mold that looks like a shoe. "Upper" refers to the fabric part of the shoe that covers the foot. We use leather, but you can try other fabrics. If you are using leather, you need to skive the thickness, and if you are trying cotton, you need to iron on a backer. "Sole" can refer to the bottom of the shoe (the rubbery part that has the heel) but can also be used to describe the part that the Upper is stuck to - it looks like a footprint without the toes. The 3D data for the Last and Sole is available for free download. However, unless you use a rubbery resin or PLA, you may find that the sole may not curve enough to be stuck on effectively. Also available for purchase are the Rubber Soles (Mirai 002) - you won't be able to download these physical products until we fix the Transporter platform on the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D). Folks who don't have access to a 3D printer may want to use the rubber soles, and perhaps use putty/clay to pad a spare Smart Doll foot as a substitute for the Last - not ideal, but better than nothing. Smart Doll Plus owners can try scaling up the size of the patterns and 3D data to make shoes for their big girls. Please read the blurb associated with the pattern/files before downloading. As with any handmaking craft - please wear protective gear, especially for your eyes. Go forth, learn, create and perhaps monetize. Don't rely on one source of income. #tokyo #smartdoll #anime #manga #doll #3dprinting #design #japan (at Mirai Store Tokyo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkYPKdWypkT/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Actually now that I think about it, this makes me realize crochet goods are going to loose selling value when 3d printing becomes a norm for certain levels of textile production.
Robotic looms cannot crochet on an industrial scale from what I know, only able to knit in ways that imitates the look of certain stitching. With 3d printing you can make any crochet design faster than human hands. Oof.
Tbh I wonder what the impact will be when polyjet 3d printers become as wide spread as 2d ink printers. With the convenience factor alone, I can see people shopping online for fashion design files, punching in thier dimensions, and printing out a perfectly tailored outfit. Or shoes. Or replacement parts, dishes, tools, toys, trinkets, you name it.
And that would certainly disrupt large portions of cargo/shipping and shopping business. Fads would be the only thing to sell in stores, which is mostly done online now anyhow so in theory it could just be printed at home... it's weird to think about.
From in game 3d model to direct marketable no-seam plushie pipeline... a bit dystopian tbh lol.

Unlimited possibilities: Design your garden irrigation yourself with the 3D printer
Well, you might think. Another lurid advertising slogan that promises a lot but delivers little. But maybe you're now thinking, why should I look around here at riego3d.com and not just google it or jump to the next search result. Stop, don't do it! Maybe you'll regret it.
To finally get to the point: here is a very simple example: You are in the hardware store or virtually in the online shop and would like to finally take action at home and put an end to the annoying manual watering and instead replace it with an individual irrigation system. Unfortunately, there is a problem: the desired dimensions of the hose holders for the irrigation hoses are only available in a very small selection. Not to mention the material that meets your requirements and needs, you will probably find it in vain. Well, that's life, unfortunately. Don't be frustrated and enjoy the day
Just go to https://riego3d.com!
Because for every problem there is a solution

The Future of Practical Effects
-Movie theater rooms themed in the setting and layout of their screenings. The Force Awakens could have a StarKiller base or Maz’s castle in Takodana theme. These would be just like birthday parties that have a theme based on their kid’s favorite thing. Imagine opening the door of a movie and being immersed into the environment and atmosphere.
-Being able to test online products physically by recreating them via practical effects without going to a store, kind of like the Amazon commercials where customers dream of how good the product is by how they appear online. (Could be achieved by 3D printing “try me” prototypes)
-Learning by bringing different educational environments to class, or taking class in a physical presence into your home, elevating homeschooling. (Without the means of virtual technology)
-Bringing vacation to your home, by partnering with different hotel and entertainment chains. These would be staycation packages that would bring a paradise of fun to your doorstep.
-Games would be a huge hit for practical reality, making whole environments recreated into your room, and entire scenes reenacted in front of your living room. I could just see Nintendo having Directs that would physically bring your room to life, as well as create locational events at E3 and other conventions with these on-set materials. (This would flesh out childhood imagination)
-Recreating the past, like a stimulative time machine, and bringing it to the present. This has been done for decades in museum exhibits, but it could be brought to an even bigger scale.
-Full scale movie production plays, with practical effects spanning the likes of stunt performers, to movie set scales, scenes with seamless prop transitions, as well as quick change costumes. This would also make for seamless transitions in between acts, potentially as quick as a frame.
-Ads and trailers could be marketed towards physical attractions, with people actually seeing events and products. This could go as mainstream as when tape delay media went live. (AGT) The days of Willy Wonka grabbing the chocolate bar right out of the TV, now could be reality.
-Imagine if you could take the environment of your job at home with you. It's not impossible, since there are already jobs that allow you to work from the convenience of your own roof. Less anxiety around people, with the same exact environment intact.
-Practical effects in films being a norm over CGI, set in real locations
-Prosthetic Medical resources
-3D printed shipping for products online that would print out from your 3D printer.
-Used for military combat simulation. (Recreating the groundwork of different countries of the world, and using these settings to practice altercations in “real time”)

Modern Futurist: Promising Technologies and Strategies
If you had asked me in the future, say in 1990, what lay ahead, I could have told you something different than I would in 2023. It develops as the reality of what will happen. The bulk of futurists will be mistaken moving forward if you hold their predictions against them. People frequently make references to or have conversations regarding the predictions made by Hugo Wells in his book about what is to come. Despite the fact that the majority of them didn't, many of them did as expected. I've come to terms with the fact that we're in for a celebration that will essentially be just out of reach. As a result, I'll strive today for the future that is physically impossible to achieve. Several breakthroughs that will impact society are what I'll be talking about; I'll also let you know how I feel about the outcome. If it's not too much bother, please be aware that any predictions given are merely evaluations; they are not predictions of reality; rather, they are conjectures. They aren't even really the stage after a gas. They are only gases, which is merely a generalization. Until further notice, they are essentially conjectures that may eventually develop into theories.
The 3D printing and scanning industries will continuously advance. I tested over 20 various 3D scanners, and I can confidently declare that today's technology is far superior to that of a few years ago when it comes to 3D scanning. As technology advances, so do 3D printers. The 3D printing market has exploded in terms of capacity. I can use a laser to create something out of wood or metal, and 3D printers let you add plastic or perform laser etching. Finding out how to perform 3D filtering is something I've been working on. By using 3D filtering, I can examine actual goods and then print them on a 3D printer. The next invention to go off will be 5G. With 5G, that being the case, and in the event that you are sufficiently fortunate to be in some of the great data transmission 5G regions and the company you use supports them, you'll discover that having a conversation and connecting to the Web with one more device through your phone is simple and successful. The fact of biological effect is my final expectation for the near future in this futurist mix post. Green things are definitely in store!

Among fans of 3D printing, the new Creality model has drawn a lot of attention. The speed of the Creality K1 High Speed 3D Printer is one of its key characteristics that has generated the greatest curiosity. Smooth printouts are transmitted at speeds up to 600 mm/s, which is many times faster than a typical 3D printer. K1 delivers a boot-up fast help and is assembled and calibrated before shipment. Simply start printing the moment your K1 arrives. Give K1 a tap, and it will independently test the extruder, heatbed, camera (at your discretion), fan, evening out, and other items. Any deviation noticed will influence the presentation. Clients can proceed in this manner without incident. It works well with many textiles and is tacky and heat-safe. The model base is clear and smooth due to the lightly frozen surface. Flexible for quick print evacuation. They are, in fact, valid deductions. Yet, they are not theories. Even if I live in a fantasy world where I wish they were, reality makes it clear they are not. I really do believe that the future will be bright because of the glare from solar-powered exhibitions, not because the majority of the world's developing species have effectively been wiped off by environmental change.
