You ever get four chapters into a fic and realize that the fic is... kinda... boring. Like, worse than being bad, it's straight up boring. You have no emotional reaction when re-reading. Your beta reader has nothing to offer you about what's *wrong* with it exactly, but they didn't really enjoy it. The later chapters you have are really good, but you know that no one is going to stick around through a boring four chapters long enough to get to the good part. You wanted this fic to be done in time for Christmas, but you don't think it's going to work out that way now. And it's just all very disheartening.

Anyway, guess who has to figure out a way to rewrite the beginning of a fic?

JOHN: i had to save the ring anyway, and it just seemed like the right thing to do, giving it to her, since she was so worried about you.

JOHN: it should be a nice thing that is between her and you. i'm just a middle man. :)

JOHN: anyway, it's really nice to meet the person who finally gets to wear the highly touted ghost ring!

JOHN: it probably means you are pretty special, to end up with it.

JOHN: what do you think you will do with your life, now that you're alive and free from your jerky bro?

All animals precure fun moments:

- Minato/Cure Splash being best buddies with Kururun, and Laura has to keep stealing them back at the all stars meets

- Ame/Cure Kindness doesn't have magic attacks, but she keeps forgetting to tell people about Tora, the largish actual (maybe magic adjacent) tiger that appears when she whistles (but isn't so good at disappearing again)

- Hyperactive Chizuru/Cure Chirp keeps walking/running/flying into doors/windows etc. she's fine. Mostly

- Haruna/Cure Canter is a certified Adult™ and excellent (even competitive) horse rider, but the entire team is in immediate agreement that she's a terrible driver. The combined teams have to take a conventional drive somewhere, and Ageha wonders why they're all so keen to ride with her.

- Ame has busted Komugi and Nyammy's animal planning shenanigans by understanding what they're saying.

- Sukeru (the all animals Bbeg) actually does stop and talk with Ame sometimes. One time he finds her feeling down about stuff, talks, and still decides to take advantage of the moment and summon a monster to hit her whilst she's down. But Ame spots the monster and immediately goes into fangirl mode. "Is that a giant isopod?!!!" "What." Ame instant mood change. She's buzzing about it, "OMG! *(Fuss around the creature, running commentary about it's features)* Eeeeeeee!!!!" Insta-transforms, and picks it up, holding it above her head. "I gotta show Minato!!!!" Bbeg "wait-" aaaand she's already gone. This happens more than once with different creatures and the team.

- The All Animals team love the Tropical Rouge girls. Are very enthusiastic whenever they meet them, which Manatsu loves. They meet up for summer holidays sometimes.

- "Since when do flamingo's breathe fire?!"

- Sayako's ability to land on and skate across water always throws everyone. Is great until she needs to dodge a fireball.

- Common occurrence: [team trying to do normal everyday teenager struggling with life or trying to save the environment stuff][things are almost going well for a change. Someone maybe even makes a comment about not being interrupted this time][they hear the roars of a monster attack in the background, or someone comes up to them telling them of a monster incursion they can't ignore]: Ame, resigned "...of course it/there is."

- Ongoing competition between the cures as to who's been launched the furthest. Ame/Kindness is in the lead because of that one time she was knocked halfway across the country. Minato/Splash keeps trying to argue she was sent to the moon, but there's still some disagreement as to whether she actually went there or not.

- Ame/Kindness being dragged through the background by escaped animal/monster 7683. This is a regular occurrence.

- At all stars meets: "Tora, No!" (Tora surreptitiously trying to eat or eye up eating one of the fairies.)
