Why is the American Left so Anti-Saudia but they say nothing about Iran?
I always found it weird how much the Left seems to dislike Saudi Arabia and highlight its human rights abuses and why the alliance is against American national interest. This is far back as Michael Moore’s documentary Fahreneit 9/11, Vox who did a special on weapons sales to Saudis, Morning Joe which kept calling MBS a butcher, The View after Biden’s visit and Krystal Ball on Breaking Points.
Interestingly these same people always go at pains to say why US should seek peace with Iran and how the government does not represent the American people. When Trump was sabre rattling Iran they said he’d start WW3. It took until the hijab protest angle for them to cover Iran critically. Even Egypt who is an American vassal under El-Sisi gets criticised all the time including by Vox/MSNBC but when the Muslim Brotherhood got in power after the Arab Spring, which is against all sorts of progressive causes, they were never really criticised.
I always get frustrated by how people throw everything to the Left of Trump as "the Left".
Joe Scarborough is nobody's Leftist. He was a far-right wing congressman from Florida in the 90s and voted to impeach Clinton in 98. MSNBC has routinely fired left-wing and Muslim dissenters to the Mainstream Washington politics (which is center-right), and to this day is filled with center and right-wing talking points. You think the Left would have Raytheon War Privateers talking up Israel in itss slow-rolling genocide without criticism?
That being said, I would significantly advise OP read a book, or talk to a leftist. Preferably in real life. The concept of "The Left doesn't criticize Iran or Muslim Brotherhood" is somewhat divorced from the broader reality and context. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are American allies and their actions are things that the US Government directly or indirectly supports.
Saudi Arabia is a US ally, so the left is critical of that close relationship and the supplying of arms such as fighter jets to such a brutal regime (currently engaged in a devastating war in Yemen using American weapons). In contrast, the US has huge tensions with Iran, so the call from the left is "do not escalate this to war." In both instances the intent is the same: to reduce the threat of war.
Try to say what you're saying directly and in descriptive language and it falls apart at face value.
"The left-wing has no criticism of anti-democratic Theocratic states." Center-left criticism of the Muslim Brotherhood has been around for a long, long time. It's easily google-able.
Or how about: "Why does the Left criticize an American vassal state with a puppet in charge?"
Bringing up the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt just speaks to how little attention you pay to the Country. The Muslim Brotherhood hasn't been in power there since 2013 when a military junta took over and threw thousands of them in jail.

Whump drabbles : Kaidan
I – Bedridden
Kaidan groaned as he struggled miserably to prop himself up on one elbow before sinking back onto the pillow. Lucien reprimanded him, telling him to calm down because he was burning with fever. He made it clear to the colossus that he would not leave this bed as long as he was not recovered.
"I'll bet 100 septims it's from an infected wound."
Kaidan looked away in response, muttering that it was going to cost a fortune to keep him in an inn bed all this time.
"Then it's fortunate my wealth is useful. But please, don't be stupid, you need to take care of yourself."

II – Stifled Scream
The Thalmor wizard wanted to break him. He used a whip, he used destruction magic, he tortured him until the skin of his back was tearing and bleeding. Until his legs collapsed under him, letting him suspended by his wrists. By the Nine, it hurted ! Kaidan clenched his teeth to stifle his screams. He wouldn't let Cyrelian have this victory. Even if his teeth shatter, he wouldn't let out a cry, a plea or a pain scream. Kaidan would rather die a curse on his lips than allow the Thalmor get the pleasure of his screams. (98)

III - « I said I'm fine »
« Steady on there, Kaidan. You’ve lost a bit of blood. »
Kaidan sighed, a little annoyed, replying to Lucien he was fine. The cut wasn’t that deep, even if the blood smeared on his whole leg. He knew Lucien was just worried about him. He always was. About everyone. As if the team wasn’t worried for this milkdrinker, so fragile and clumsy. The Imperial brandished a health potion in front of his face.
« I said I ’m fine. »
Kaidan’s voice was a bit harsher this time. It wasn’t the first his first wound. He would get through it. (102)

IV – Escape Attempt
His breathing was rough in his chest, he had to be quick despite his wounds. But Kaidan was out of the Thalmor’s hands for now. He’s got more or less the layout of the abandoned prison memorized. He knew the exit would be a few more meters after this corner. And there they were. Kaidan tried to ram the elves out of his way but he was too weak. He staggered back, gasping and looking with horror as his jailers were ready to shock him with their magic.
« Well, well, looks like our rat got out of its cage. », Cyrelian said with a smile. (105)
V – Explosion
They hadn't seen the rune on the ground. Kaidan advanced at the head of the group at a good pace in these ruins until the explosion was triggered. One step inside the magical circle was enough, and everyone was brutally blinded by the explosion and thrown against the walls of the crypt. Kaidan felt his lungs suddenly emptied before he felt the painful bite of the stone against his back. The flames had briefly licked his face, leaving an abominable burning smell in their wake. His ears were ringing painfully. Everything around him was dusty and blurry. (98)

VI - « It's not as bad as it looks »
He’d gotten a nice gash on his forehead, from the sharp claws of a sabre cat. Blood had streaked down Kaidan’s face, adorning it with a sticky crimson mask, drowning out his tattoo and blending with the color of his eyes. When Lucien saw him like this, he squealed in horror, both at his friend’s bloody appearance and at the presumption of the seriousness of his wound.
“Don’t worry. It’s not as bad as it looks. The wound isn’t deep, the forehead is just a place where the bleeding is profuse.”, he explained to the Imperial. (102)

VII – Fall
The icy path in the Velothi Mountains stretched before them, treacherous and slippery. Each step could lead to a fall and the group was carefully walking in silence, their breath forming a mist in the frigid air. Kaidan stepped on a frozen rock, and the misstep happened. Losing his balance from the top of his imposing build, he fell below, his body hit by the fir trees that adorned the hillside. His schout echoed in the mountain and to this cry answered the cries of all his friends, horrified at his fall. They could see him lying below, a dark figure in the pristine snow. (105)

VIII – Drowning
The current raged around him, a relentless force that threatened to drag him under. The river was an opponent he was not equipped to defeat. Kaidan fought against the torrent, muscles straining with every stroke. But his strength ended up dwindling and abandoning him, the water closing in on him, his lungs desperately searching for air without being able to find it. His world faded to black. His limp body, unconscious and tossed about by the waves, found refuge on a solitary rock rising from the turbulent river, where he was spotted by his friends, who hoped it was not already too late. (103)

IX - Gag
When he regained consciousness, a tight cloth gag was across his mouth, the knot of it pressing hard on the back of his neck. The fabric tasted dirty of dust and blood. Kaidan didn't know where the Thalmor had taken him while he was unconscious. All his protests and insults were reduced to muffled grunts. His bonds were as tight as his gag and without success, he couldn't free himself. Gritting his teeth on the fabric, he swore to himself to make them pay, all of them. Let him break free from his bonds, and he would kill them all. (102)

X – Held
The Dragonborn's world shifted as tentacles snatched them into Hermaeus Mora's realm, Apocrypha. Panic gripped Kaidan's heart as he lunged to catch them, but Xelzaz firmly held him back by an arm and Lucien gripped his wrist.
"You can't go there, it's too dangerous. They has to confront Miraak alone. Apocrypha is treacherous, Hermaeus Mora wouldn't allow another player in their game.", Lucien explained, his grip tight.
The Black Book consumed the Dragonborn, and, firmly held by his traveling companions, Kaidan stared with a heavy heart as the book closed itself and fell to the ground. (102)

oh good heavens im gonna explode. ok. SO. man. man. man. theres so many im probably forgetting because i am very autistic about a lot of historical eras. however. wait i need to mention. i took art history classes however sadly due to the time in my life i took them at i do not remember jack shit</3 and also i was super autistic about history as a kid but ive forgotten most of that as well. the things i remember clearest however are:
italian high renaissance (who else is a davinci girl bc I AM!!!)
pleistocene epoch (aka: the ice age) SHOUTOUT TO THE SMILODON!!! i love you more than anything american scimitar cat<3 american scimitar cat smilodon is my best fucking friend now and forever. FUN FACT. i was so autistic about this when i was like 6 or 7. that when assigned a school project to get a cardboard box and turn it into an animal and then put facts about the animal on the box. i turned mine into a scimitar. wait i havent elaborated. those are a relative of the sabre-toothed tiger. Anyways. my box animal was a scimitar. i was later informed i was the only child in the history of that project in that class to have done a presentation on an extinct animal. i felt So Special and happy. :)!!
honorable mention: baroque period went off the shits as well. AND YOU KNOW WHAT. SHOUT OUT TO SPECIFICALLY THE 1880S. If you could relive any memory of your past, what would it be?

I'm not sure if this is mean IC or OOC, so I'll answer it as both.
For Huaisang, it's when he's seven, nearly eight, and his father is still alive and both he and Mingjue takes a couple of days off from duties and they go down to the city. There they shop, eat street food, watch performances and Huaisang gets to see some contortionists for the first time. It's so much fun and they even stay the night at an inn, despite that it's less than two hours back home to the Unclean Realm. It's his happiest memory of him and his family, before his dad's sabre shattered and he lost his mind, before Mingjue was forced to become a sect leader, before Huaisang was mostly a disappointment. Before he lost everything dear to him. Sometimes, Huaisang tries to forget these two days, sometimes he clings to them like his life depends on them.
For me, it's any day while my family still lived in the house I was born in. We were forced to leave it when I was eight due to my dad losing his job from one day to the next (thanks to his asshole boss not letting him and his coworker know they were going bankruptcy). This was during the 90's inflation.
But yeah, any day in that house was a happy dream 98% of the time. It was in the middle of nowhere. The house was wonky, the water froze during the winter and the electricity went then too, so we only had our furnace to cook on and such. But the place was our wonky house and we all loved it there. The freedom. The peace. I think it was the last time me or my parents were ever truly happy.
