A brief look at a sampling of the Kenner line of Spacetime Sally action figures from back in the late 70s/early 80s. This Kenner line was a mix of the live-action Vivian Larsen show and the short-lived Saturday morning cartoon, the Spacetime Sally Animated Adventures. Above, we can see the evolution of the basic, and most popular, Spacetime Sally figure. This figure was the one that was always available on shelves. You, or one of your parents, maybe your grandparent, probably has one of these buried away somewhere.

A brief deviation in style would go unnoticed as only about 500 hundred of these were made. They're not valuable. The plastic is toxic. Children were getting sick.

Here, we see variants of the same figure with very slight alterations, most noticeably on the belt.

Eventually, the figures get better in design, having to compete with the toy lines of certain movies and shows.

Eventually the figures become the classic ones we all loved and played with growing up.

A proper update for the Genevieve Contreras figure fans had been clamoring for.

“Sweet Tooth” Series in the Works at Netflix

A series based on Jeff Lemire’s Vertigo comic Sweet Tooth is in development from Netflix and Team Downey. Jim Mickle and Beth Schwartz are serving as writers, co-showrunners, and executive producers. Mickle will also direct. Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Amanda Burrell, and Linda Moran are also serving as executive producers.

Sweet Tooth follows Gus, a deer/boy hybrid who leaves his forest home to find the outside world ravaged by some cataclysmic event. Gus joins a group of humans and other human/animal children in search of answers about the world and his origins. The series will stars Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, and Will Forte, with James Brolin as the voice of the Narrator.
