CONVENTION AUTOGRAPHS!! LET'S GO!!!!
Sarah Wiedenheft, my favorite voice actress for Takagi-san?
Tumblr media
Check. She was so sweet when signing my photo, I didn't realize her voice was naturally that high! She has such a beautiful signature and personality.
Keith Silverstein, voice of Mondo-fuckin'-Owada (nice to meet ya)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Check. I also got him to sign my Trigger Happy Havoc group print, along with Asahina's VA as well (more on her later). He was hella friendly and told me that he just got that Mondo print like 3 conventions ago. God bless him and the artist for that because I didn't have any merch for him to sign. 😭 A real dope guy, he even asked before hand if it was okay for him to swear in order to quote Mondo lol!
Now on to my grails...
TOHRU ADACHI!!
Voiced by the wonderful Johnny Yong Bosch! ✨️
Tumblr media
I already spoiled this one with an earlier post but I wanna include it anyway! Despite how awkward the quote sounds (I originally told him to write something about helping me get out of a TV but I backpedaled out of embarassment) I'm quite happy with this. I'm unsure if he realizes how many fans are into Adachi? I can't be the only girl to have admitted that to him.
MORGANA!!!
Voiced by the lovely Cassandra Lee Morris!!! ✨️
Tumblr media
AHH she was so nice!!! I was so nervous and had a hard time keeping my cool. I told her I adore Morgana and that he's like a baby to me. I got to show her my ita display, got signatures for my Danganronpa print + an Epic 7 Cecilia print for my bf, then gave her some old (but gold) fanart I drew with a letter on the back. She said I was so sweet for that and I just wanted to scream, it was so-!!! 🥹💞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I gave her my Morg to hold while taking pictures- the second pic is of us button mashing his head. 1000/10 absolute dream come true!!!!! ❤️
AND FINALLY. GIVE IT UP FOR MY FAVORITE COPY CAT KILLER:
MITSUO KUBO!!!!
Voiced by the amazing Kyle Hebert!! ✨️
Tumblr media
(Shoutout to @cierv-o-robot-o for this absolutely PERFECT commission!! You're my hero!!!!!! 🥹🙏)
Bro when they announced that Kyle Hebert was coming to Kon I literally jumoed out of my chair and started running around the house like a maniac. I was so fucking excited
When it came to the convention I awkwardly got in line, paid for 2 prints (my Mitsuo + a Kazuichi) and a photo and waited. When I went up I told him I loved him as Kazuichi (pretty sure he drew the heart on there because I said I find him handsome) and that his voice sounds wonderful no matter what role he's playing. After that I kind of geeked out on him - I said I was "the fucking biggest Mitsuo Kubo fan ever, I promise you." 😭 I didn't mean to be that intense about it but I was so excited, I just had to let him know that Mitsuo has fans. A couple. At LEAST one (Mitsuo mutuals I'd never forget about you I was just flipping out).
He signed my print and I gave him a little packet that had fanart by me, a note, and 2 of the Mitsuo charms (game + anime versions). He said I was the first person he's ever seen get excited about Mitsuo before. For some reason I felt really proud about that? 🥲💓 I yapped for a little while after about how I also recognized his voice as the creepy stalker in Persona 4 Dancing in the hopes of letting him know that no matter how minor the role, there are fans. We said our thank yous, then I turned around and literally ran to gush about what just happened to my friends who were waiting close by. Which means...
Tumblr media
I ALMOST DIDN'T GET THIS PICTURE. I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I RAN AWAY IN EMBARSSSMENT AND FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE. Luckily my friend is a huge Gohan fan and went up to his booth to get an autograph shortly after I was done freaking out. It was only then did I realize that I paid for a picture. x'V I told his assistant that I didn't get a picture, they worked it out, and I shamefully went back up for a pic. 🥹 He was nice about it, I appreciate his patience.
Waaahh it was all so cool, I'm so honored to have been able to talk to all of these incredibly talented voice actors!!! 💞💓💘❤️🥰 I hope to see them again in the future, I'll be sure to be prepared and to come with more gifts. FINAL KAZUICHI FLASHBANG GRAHHHH 💥💥💥

thoughts?
can't say unfortunately because i think i saw literally NOTHING with the guy voicing anything?
like i don't watch english anime dubs and haven't seen any of western animated shows he participated in either. closest thing is sonic boom, where he voiced vector the crocodile in an episode but. i haven't seen that episode so, shrug

2 things: 1. ever since ive stumbled upon your ao3, no other, and i literally mean *no other* author even comes close to scratching the same itch. the way you portray every single character you write is honestly just so brilliantly done!! same goes for your art. pretty men & mer as far as the eye can see omfg 2. what voices do you imagine for your ocs? for example i myself could imagine nilandur to be voiced by keith silverstein :3 (AND I LOVE NIL SO MUCH I WISH HE WAS IN THE GAME)
KIND ANON, thank you so much for your words! Apologies for taking so long to reply!
Ahhhh the Voice Claim question. Y'know, it's funny, a lot of my characters have very distinct voices in my head, but it's been so difficult to find appropriate VCs for any of them. Except for Aerik -- he just sounds like Chris Pine in my head alskfja. Specifically Captain Kirk style Chris Pine, with a dash of Jack Frost. (I cannot describe the noise I made when the new DND movie trailer came out and I saw that the man would be playing a fucking bard.)
But as for Nilandur, I actually settled on Paul Bettany for his voice claim, and more recently, specifically his role in Master and Commander (which, I only saw this movie for the first time a couple of months ago, and I was just blown away by how very ~Nilandur~ Bettany's character is in this role - mannerisms, speech pattern, morals, etc. The clip I linked is pretty quiet, but I think it does a good job of showing his speech pattern. Also CW!!: click off before 1:45 unless you wanna see a guy getting flogged lol).
Harukar and Aiden also both have very distinct voices in my head, but I have yet to find good Voice Claims for them. Harukar sounds very similar to Nazir in terms of depth and timbre, but with a slight British-Arabic accent. Aiden is somewhat similar to Nilandur, but more nasally, a bit quicker in his speech patterns, and shifts in-and-out of a more high-born accent vs something considered lower class.
I'll continue to ramble if I don't cut myself off there. Thanks for such a fun question and such a high compliment!

So here are my completely uninteresting thoughts about the Miraculous movie, which I watched yesterday. First few paragraphs are spoiler free.
Overall impression while watching was honestly positive. It was well-animated, the tension and atmosphere were good, the voice actors for the main characters did great, the music was pretty good, and the nostalgia gave me warm fuzzy feelings several times. However, the day after watching it, I realize I have a lot of issues with it that weren't obvious to me at first.
I didn't mind it being a musical. But like everyone else, I thought the difference between Marinette's speaking VA and singing VA was jarring. It was jarring enough that it didn't feel like it was actually Marinette singing; it felt more like she was lipsynching along to a soundtrack, and I found it hard to take in what she was trying to communicate in her songs because of that. Adrien didn't have this problem; his singing VA was similar enough that it worked. As for Gabriel, oh man, was it a TREAT to discover that Keith Silverstein did his own singing. I literally had goose bumps the whole song, not because it was a particularly interesting song, but because Keith just did it so well (and it was so great to have him seamlessly start singing)!!
They changed or removed a lot of things compared to the show; the main reason for this was probably that the movie was only 1:32 in runtime (which was way too short even to convey some of the basic points of the plot). Some of the changes were for the better, I think. But many of them were for the worse.
(Spoilers below, though if you've seen the show, it probably doesn't matter very much.)
Some good changes:
Gabriel's characterization and character arc were WAY improved, in that his motives are clearly established, he's shown as suffering emotionally during the entire movie (while very obviously caring a lot for Adrien), and he had a redemption at the end that made sense. Gabriel was probably my favorite character in this movie. I almost wish it had centered more around him, lol.
This is maybe not a change so much as a choice of focus, but a major part of why I stopped watching the show two seasons back or so was because the new kwamis, heroes and identity switches were getting incredibly annoying, confusing and boring. The movie had only three active kwamis and only two heroes, i.e. it went back to the good old days of the show, and I appreciated that a lot.
There are also way fewer characters who get any screen time (basically their entire school class is only shown in the periphery), which I personally think is a good thing, because I never really found most of them interesting in the first place.
After their first couple of times fighting bad guys, Ladybug and CN get into a habit of meeting with each other to train or just hang out even when there are no threats around. That kind of casual interaction was something I think many of us wished had been a part of the show (it definitely was a major part of many fanfics).
Adrien is clearly shown mourning his mother, and I think that his withdrawn manner and the fact that he always wears earbuds at the start of the movie makes a lot of sense.
Marinette and Adrien are chosen as guardians in a slightly different way, and I think I like Tikki's movie introduction more than the one in the show (however, see another point about this further below). Also, the idea behind the ladybug and cat miraculouses was well explained in my opinion.
I really liked the first meeting between Ladybug and CN. CN was characteristically cocky, and LB was very reasonably annoyed with him throughout it all (more so than in the show, as far as I recall). While there were a few moments during the fight itself that felt a bit cringe, their interactions were still pretty great. I also liked how CN went from seeing himself as the main superhero with LB being his sidekick, to acknowledging that it's probably the other way around and that they work best as a team. Also, his pet name for her is pretty cute (though I kind of miss the names he calls her in the show).
Some bad changes:
The fashion-related connection between Marinette, Adrien and Gabriel was completely removed. Adrien isn't a model it seems (at least it was never mentioned), and it was only briefly shown at the start of the movie that Gabriel is a fashion designer. Marinette still does fashion sketches, but the whole reason for why she is obsessed with Adrien at first as well as the fact that she looks up to his father a lot is completely non-existent. The connection just isn't mentioned at all.
Adrien and Marinette are barely shown interacting outside of their first meeting, their resolution, and a brief montage in-between. It doesn't really make sense why Marinette is even interested in Adrien (see also my previous point). It doesn't even make sense that she would like him just because she's lonely and not used to attention, because movie Adrien barely gives her any...
Marichat and Ladrien have ZERO interactions. It's a shame and a huge minus.
The way that Ladybug's and CN's powers work is a disappointment. We're told that they have the power of creation and destruction respectively, and this is shown in a few scenes (CN destroys some things, LB repairs some things), but gone are all the clever strategies from the show where LB had to figure out a creative way to solve their problems. The way her powers are portrayed in the movie, it seems like Tikki does everything for her. Her yo-yo seems to have a life of her own and pulls her along without her consent a lot of the time, and she never has to think for herself about how to solve a problem because her powers miraculously show her exactly what to do. We do get a few cool scenes where LB and CN execute moves in tandem though, but that's about the extent of it. Basically, LB isn't a strong, clever superhero; she's pretty much a doll puppeteered around by Tikki. (A bit of an exaggeration but that is how I felt.)
The reveal between Marinette and Adrien feels underwhelming, both because of how little we have seen of their friendship and interactions throughout the movie, and because the reveal itself is done in a rather anticlimactic way. Marinette has already known who he is for a while at that point (it's unclear exactly how long), and Adrien seems to realize who she is as soon as she calls his name. They barely speak during the reveal and it is difficult to know how they feel about it all outside of Marinette's shy expressions and Adrien's shocked eyes. The whole ~masquerade reveal~ felt like an attempt at fanservice that unfortunately fell flat.
Alya was a good character in this movie, but I think she should have received more screentime. I would much rather have seen more of her and Marinette than suffer through her bad scenes with Nino (more on that below).
Chloé was done dirty. It's like they added her in just because "she's supposed to be there" without taking the time to making her actually fit in with the other changes they had made. Not only did she seem to fluctuate between three or four different personalities throughout the movie, she also made very light of the concept of bullying in a COMPLETELY unnecessary and shockingly badly written line at the end of the movie. (This is literally a direct quote: "Marinette, I hope you have a lovely evening, because next year, bullying's back on.") Also, she bragged about being favored by Adrien, even though they had zero interactions in the movie? (I don't remember them having one, at least.)
Plagg was done REALLY dirty. Every single scene he was in was cringe and badly written. His entire personalty was boiled down to "he fart lol".
Lastly, Adrien was also done dirty. He's barely given a discernible personality outside of "I'm sad and miss my parents" and "I'm a cocky superhero who loves puns". The way he handles being told that Marinette has another love interest is immature and spiteful, his first meeting with Marinette ends with him leaving out of nowhere and thinking that she's weird, and we never get to see how kind, shy, clever, awkward and perceptive he can be. The contrast between him and his superhero persona is badly explained; someone who hasn't seen the show wouldn't know that he longs for adventure and the freedom to express himself, because his struggles as a homeschooled model with few sincere friends are completely absent from the movie. Basically, he's made into a rather one note character (well, I guess two note, really, with at best a wobbly connection between the two sides).
Other things that weren't changes per se, but that I have Opinions about:
I'm torn on how they remade Marinette's "awakening". Just like in the show, she refuses Tikki's powers at first, before eventually accepting them and having her growth arc. I think this is an important part of her larger character arc. However, considering how short the movie is, it's my opinion that they dedicate a disproportionate amount of time to this arc, where I feel that there were important plot and characterization details they could have used that time for instead. I understand that they probably did this because they wanted to focus a lot on Marinette's "hero's journey" in this movie, but it was almost like they dragged it all out.
Related to the previous point, there is quite a lot of "be yourself" and "trust your heart" and "overcome your fears" propaganda shoved down the viewer's throat throughout the movie. I watched the movie with my partner, and every time that Marinette started singing, I jokingly went, "do you think this song will be the next 'Let It Go'?" I mean, it's a good message to give kids I guess, but it was so much that I couldn't help but view it cynically.
Nino could have been removed as a character. No, actually, he should have been. He was extremely one note in a way that borders on being a racist depiction, his romance arc with Alya was flat and unnecessary, his "romantic advice" to Adrien was cliche and cringe, and he fulfils no purpose in the story whatsoever (possibly apart from being Adrien's only friend at first, but that's so brushed over that I don't think it would matter if it was removed).
I liked almost all of the interactions between Ladybug and CN. They were fun, cute and mostly felt natural. The few issues I have are mostly present in the show as well, so I have nothing to complain about regarding the movie itself.
As a contrast to the previous point however, there were, in my opinion, way too many one liners and far too few sincere interactions between characters. Some of the interactions were so weirdly cut short that they felt jarring or superficial. I saw a good example of this in another post from the early parts of the movie, where Marinette is sad because she feels lonely at school, her mother tells her to cheer up and be herself, at which Marinette suddenly does cheer up and goes "you're right!!" (I'm paraphrasing, but the meat of the issue is that the change in her mood is unnaturally sudden, and it feels like there's so much more that had to be said between the lines for that to happen).
The climax felt somewhat sudden and uncalled for, both in how it started and how it ended. Hawkmoth's powers (which hadn't been very well explained before this) suddenly became completely different and no longer focused around the power of his kwami. Suddenly he could create storms, and levitate, and use telekinesis??? And while I appreciated the reveal between him and Adrien, it was weird to have Marinette standing nearby without ever seeing her reaction to CN's identity reveal. Also, the ghost hug from Adrien's mother at the end felt a little too on the nose for me.
Final thoughts: If they had spent their budget on a longer movie rather than on licensing 15 seconds or so of Careless Whisper, and if they had cut all of the musical numbers in favor of including some more plot and characterization, I think the movie could have been really great. As it stands, I think the main issues with the movie all boil down to it being too short. Still, I'm glad I watched it, and I think fans of the series will still have a lot to appreciate about it. As for the people who have never seen the show, they might think it's an all right movie, but they're missing out on a lot of the things that make the show so great.
The teaser for a sequel at the end was... Weird, btw. I really don't see how they're going to keep people's interest up for another movie when CN and LB already have had their reveal and romantic arc, unless the supposed sequel focuses on other people (crossing my fingers for a Gabriel-centered movie, I guess).

some facts about Harvey? albeit nothing that can give too much info away regarding the sequel lol
Harvey’s an interesting character for me.
For starters, he’s the first Oc that I ship with a cannon character! When I was 13, I was never big on the Oc x cannon thing, but now I’ve been more open minded about it and began to appreciate them more. Harvey served as an experiment for me to see if I can make a story with an Oc in it without making them the leading role. Granted, I still want him to have an important role, but I don’t want him to replace Rodney.
Harvey’s character is also my first attempt to make a flirty character. A huge inspiration for Harvey’s design and personality was from Mettaton from Undertale and Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel,(because of course it was), so Harvey was going to be gay right from the get go. Needless to say, he’s gonna be quite the handful for Rodney.
Speaking of Rodney, Harvey’s pretty much a literal foil for him! Everything about Harvey is basically the exact opposite of Rodney. Harvey is much more open about his sexuality, while Rodney’s shut in and keeps it private. Rodney works with Bigweld, Harvey works for Ratchet, etc etc. I didn’t mean to do this, but it just kinda happened as I was coming up with Harvey’s backstory and character.
As for specific Head cannons…
-He’s voiced by Keith Silverstein, the same guy who voiced Nazeem from Skyrim. Y’know… “dO yOu GeT tO tHe ClOuD dIsTrIcT vErY oFtEn-”
-He could be super serious, but if you give him something or someone cute, he’ll completely drop the act and go nuts.
-When the fanfic drops, take a shot every time he’s horny for Rodney or Ratchet. Trust me, it’ll come into play later.
Edit: Complete forgot to mention that he’s Emo and listens to Evanescence. He also listens to, but not limited to: Blue Stahil, Aesthetic Perfection, and One True God. Quite the selection, but it’s his selection.

THEY RELEASED A LOT OF BAKUGAN EPISODES
And this is link to one with backslash (there is two episodes in one video, the one with Backslash is second one)
https://youtu.be/2dPHUuDlxZA?feature=shared
And Backslash SHOULD be voiced by Keith Silverstein, same who voiced Dom, cause it would fit perfect with his voice lines, especcially one in the end of episode.
So I used Labor Day to watch all the videos and I have a few things to say:
1. Someone beat or brawl Chip so hard that he turns hypocritical and uses a Bakugan to save his pride. He is so annoying and he really can’t for the life of him understand that he’s gonna be destroyed in a few episodes.
2. It’s always good to have at least one or more child or young teen character act like an immature character because it shows that they aren’t broken by the world yet and have room to grow. That and really, do people think most kids just act mature from the get go? No, their brains aren’t done developing and so they’re still learning how to be mature.
3. Where are most of the cast’s parents? I’ve seen Dan’s mom and Mia’s parents, but everyone else looks like they don’t have parents. Also, Mia’s family life is about to get rocky since she saw her dad being part of a secret experiment group, and she’s also been lying to them. And don’t get me started on the rest of the characters’ families, they don’t even seem to exist!
4. From the few episodes of the clans: We really need to see more from the dragon clan because we don’t know what they are as a whole since it’s just Kage and Nillious. The Avian looks like a bunch of parachute enthusiasts who act all tough, but are afraid of the other clans. Dino clan looks like the toughest and could give you respect, but it’s hard to get it. The Aquatic clan is a bunch of surfing hipsters and stuck up uptown people. The Mammal clan really should’ve known that cats don’t like orders, but at least they can try to be nice. The Insect clan are crazy in the smart way and just in general. Oh, and the Misfit clan really is lives up to their name.
5. The fact the Misfit clan has a dog and a cat that can do security as good as the humans or Bakugan really shows that they know how to recruit. That and the Mammal deserved to get wrecked by their former cat because they didn’t know how cats work.
6. Bakugans really do act like family members and they’re just as supportive of their brawlers as much as a regular family member should. I hope the figure out the whole rampage thing becomes Bakugans shouldn’t be used as science experiments or be seen as mostly dangerous as they have been good to those they care about.
Now for Backslash:
Hargrave! Get your kid here! He is crazy and smart and sarcastic and can literally make you proud! Why’d you lose this kid? Someone get this kid back to his family.

Rachel watches Black Clover, ep 1
I tried watching this when it started on Toonami and it didn't really do anything for me, but a lot of people seem to like it so I thought I'd give it another try...
"two MORE"???
yeah they're twins like Beck and Andre were twins on Victorious
literally what's the point of making a garden hoe levitate?
...no dude she literally can't
SHE SAID NO DAWG
I'm just gonna go ahead and ask what I asked the first time I tried to watch this show: is this just wizard Naruto?
Dora the Explorer over here
RIP to this actor's vocal cords holy shit
show-off!
...actually y'know what I feel like everyone in Naruto is basically just a wizard already so
damn if everyone dumped on me nonstop like this I'd probably scream all the time too
oh my god this episode is just vomiting exposition
"...crap what comes after 999?"
honestly I think I was just burnt out on anime about kids trying to be something they were physically incapable of being when I first watched this
I took one look at that floppy-haired lil shit and said out loud "I hate you."
GANDALF???
this whole scene just feels like a lot of thinly veiled dick jokes
but he... he has no magic... like... yeah.
I was gonna complain that they didn't actually explain how this world works, but I think they did and I just glazed over it...
nope nope noPE NOPE NOPE NOPE—
when did Hisoka become a character trope
more important question: WHY
who voices this guy any— OH. OH YIKES. FUCK.
shoulda just used Keith Silverstein
checked WHAT?
how did this episode have so much exposition and still tell me nothing about the world the show is set in???
...yeah. yeah this is literally just wizard Naruto.
I'll give it another episode though
(chain guy's not in the rest of the series, right?)

Anime Update V2 16
Noragami Aragoto - Watched the second episode, where Kugaha begins scheming with Nora behind Bishamon’s back and the dude we were introduced to just last episode, who gives us some more backstory in this one, gets abruptly and insultingly killed off by a pack of phantom wolves. But the thing that wasn’t doing it for me here was the conflict introduced where Yukine is worried about the possibility of Hiyori forgetting all about him and Yato, which yeah, was in the manga but...this is literally coming off of the anime-exclusive Rabo arc of the first season, where a lot of the conflict was based in Hiyori losing her memory. Yet there’s no mention of it at all! I hate it when anime does this, adapting the manga’s story word for word even when it ends up not matching up with original anime-only content that was included earlier. Shame that Noragami couldn’t avoid that trap.
Hunter x Hunter - Not much to say since the episodes of both anime again covered the exact same ground as each other, but I will say that it’s impressive how the 2011 version had a cut to daybreak and played out its later events in broad daylight, thus stripping it of the spooky, suspenseful atmosphere that the 1999 version had...and yet Hisoka still manages to be so much scarier in the later adaptation compared to the first one! A big part of it is the animation on him, another is the voice Keith Silverstein does, but also helping is that he doesn’t at any point start acting like he’s gonna werewolf out on us for no discernable reason. Seriously, what was up with that part?
Fruits Basket - Like the above, both episodes of both series’ covered the exact same ground, but in this case they were done in somewhat different ways. In the 2001 series, the focus was kept on Tohru the entire time she was back with her family up until Yuki and Kyo came to take her back to Shigure’s house so she can rejoin her new found family, but in the 2019 series, we get Tohru’s POV first and then are shown how Yuki and Kyo struck out together to retrieve Tohru, leading to some great, classic interaction between the two. My preference here is slightly for the latter version, but one thing I think the first anime got better was Grandpa Honda - he lacked the weird senile quirk of calling Tohru by her mother’s name and was voiced by the late, great Brice Armstrong in the dub, which made his part in the story come off with a much stronger impact compared to the remake.
Rozen Maiden - Two episodes this week, the first one adding yet another new Rozen Maiden doll to the cast, Suiseiseki, and we took a trippy ass trip into the world inside Jun’s mind, in his dreams....and somehow even that wasn’t as trippy as the following episode, where the series suddenly became a Seiji Kishi anime where everything is wacky and cartoony, and the characters are having these over-the-top reactions while getting into crazy shennanigans! The latter episode is ultimately a filler episode, but a very fun one that also served to really solidify Suiseiseki’s characterization. Also, I’m now wondering if Megan Hollingshead is going to turn up in the dub at some point since we’ve got the old dub voices for Rena, Satoko, Takano, and Rika all here - might as well get the Sonozaki twins too!
Fate/Stay Night - While the break-in to Caster/Medea’s temple, redesigned with magic to even ressemble Ancient Greece, was cool and all, when it came time to save Sakura, the connection between her and Rin came right out of nowhere! Seriously, if there was any foreshadowing to this “long lost sisters” twist in this anime, I must’ve missed it. Which I suppose is a most notable flaw in this adaptation.
Revolutionary Girl Utena - Got back to the Black Rose Saga proper with Mikage and his badly voice acted boyfriend creating a toxin from the Black Rose that can expand their reach even beyond just the Student Council’s relations. In the meantime, they make Shiori, Juri’s ex-friend and romantic interest who still misunderstands the love triangle she was a part of, into their next duelist and oh boy, this might be the most fucked up character on the show to date. Turns out she’s always resented Juri, and when she finds out that Juri’s had feelings for her the whole time, she is as elated as she is startled, ‘cause this means she’s weighed on Juri’s mind all along, that she has a sort of power over her and can flaunt that in her face. Indeed even after she loses her duel to Utena, Shiori still wins simply by keeping herself unattainable to Juri and exploiting her feelings of rejection whenever she can. Man, do I really pity poor Juri now...
Sound! Euphonium S2 - Welp, that was the end of the series. At least until the third season comes out later on, but how they’ll make that work is anyone’s guess since they played this up as the end of the story so much, calling back to Episode 1 and contrasting it with how things are with Kumiko and Asuka now, which I guess makes Asuka the big Arc Character of this series, getting a title drop, and even displaying the word “END” before special end credits set to euphonium music. I know there’s another movie besides Liz & The Blue Bird and also some special shorts to still watch, but the series proper pretty definitively concluded here, and it was a really solid ending. I particularly liked how a large section of the episode was dedicated to just one final classroom band performance as memories from the show played - slow, steady, and poignant. Sort of describes the series as a whole; I still enjoy it the least out of any of the Jukki Hanada anime I’ve seen, but I do respect and appreciate it a great deal, so I’ll gladly accept more time with these kids and their music.
MAR - None this week. Will get back to Phantom’s big plan later.
AMC: Moriarty The Patriot - Got back to this with the “Scarlet Eyes” two-parter, which detail the origin story of William James Moriarty, as well as the backstory of his adoptive brother Albert, and the other brother Louis (though his deal is still sketchy). And I can best describe young William as “Kurapika if he had the scarlet eyes full-time and was a brilliant-minded demon child with a vision for being a Lelouch vi Britannia type revolutionary, waging war on Britain’s noble class in secret so that the nation may be “cleansed” and society rebuilt into one that is just, fair, and equitable for all people.” Like, HOLY SHIT does this character not fail to mesmerize and horrify with every new turn taken with him, and you sort of have to remind yourself that this is fucking Moriarty, soon to be the Napoleon of Crime for not just Britain but the entire world and the arch nemesis to the world’s greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes. So this makes for quite a compelling moral connundrum where you might agree with the Moriarty brothers intentions and root for them to take down the despicable scumbags of British aristocracy, but also feel that them doing so through CRIME makes them hypocrites of epic proportions, and sooner or later they may end up hurting far more people than they’re helping. And it didn’t have to be that way for Albert and Louis, but they got sucked into Liam’s black hole and he ain’t letting go!
The one misstep I can criticize here is how for some unfathomable reason, Part 1 had a post-credits scene that jumped right to the burning mansion, which totally spoiled the climax of Part 2 and neutered the big, anxiety-inducing suspenseful buildup to it ‘cause you now knew exactly what the brothers were going to end up doing! Like, what logic is there in showing us your hand early like that???

some creepypasta voice headcanons
brought to you by my minimal knowledge of celebrities and musicians other than the 10 songs i listen to on repeat!!
Jeff - Damien Wong (Set to Stun). Okay honestly I’m not a huge metalcore fan, but I really like Set to Stun’s music and honestly it sounds like the sorta thing I can see Jeff singing.
Ben - Len Kagamine. Not his voice actor but the literal vocaloid. I just feel like Ben would have a very childish, but slightly digital or unnerving voice.
Toby - Danny Gonzalez. In my AU he’s an adult, but I see him as having a higher, more childish voice honestly.
Rowan - Tom Holland. His actual voice though, not the American one (although that fits too).
Masky and Hoodie - they both have canon voices lmao
Jane - Mara Junot (Evelynn from LoL). Okay, probably don’t google this because a lot of her lines are NSFW and honestly that doesn’t really give me Jane area but just something about the sadism in her voice fits Jane pretty well.
X Virus - Zach Braff. I just started watching Scrubs and if I close my eyes I can totally see JD as X Virus
EJ - Keith Silverstein. My logic was that there’s a large overlap between people who simp for ej and people who simp for childe and zhongli. that’s it.
Doby - Zeno Robinson. It’s just perfect okay trust me
Nina - Jinx from LoL. Honestly leaning towards Ella Purnell rather than Sarah Williams but that might be regency bias (please watch Arcane)
Clockwork - Shay Mitchell. I HC Clocky as French-Canadian and the idea of her slipping and saying “sorry“ in her native accent is kind of cute.
Liu: Cavetown. I just see him as having a vary soft and sweet voice that can get super intense when stressed

Kiridai English Dub Voices Thoughts
Hi Hi~ I know I’ve been dead, no deep reason why, but!
I found out that the eng dub for season 2 of knb is up, so of course I had to see the kiridai eps, these are some of my thoughts on the voices
(first I want to say that overall its a solid dub, voice cast wise anyway. The voice cast is pretty good. aomine’s voice in particular is literally perfect)
Hanamiya - Stephen Fu
Honestly pretty solid.
It’s a lighter tone but the execution is SO GOOD. You can really hear the venom in the voice lol
Stephen Fu did SUCH A GOOD JOB especially with that Kuroko and Hanamiya convo (the “the misfortune of others tastes sweet like honey” scene)
I think both the english and original JP fits well ; its just different interpretations
Hara - Jon Allen
Its not the same voice actor, but he sounds just like Kaoru from Ouran at some points? It has a similar light raspy sound
I think this is actually the tone of voice I had in mind for Hara way back when.  But now I somewhat prefer him having a slightly more deeper tone.
But his en voice is pretty good. With the few lines he has, the VA did really well!
Hara (talking to Seto): “People give me crap about my hair while you’re a fire hazard” asdfgiodl Hara please!!
Furuhashi - Aleks Le
My favorite personally!!!!! Can sound close to the original at times imo
I do think the execution could’ve been a bit better. Its not as stoic as I imagined it in some parts
Also! Something interesting to point out is that Aleks Le voices Akashi as well.
And Akashi is the player Furuhashi has his eye on, according to Kurofes. Pretty cool coincidence.
Yamazaki - Mark Whitten
Pretty good!! Definitely has that slight rough tone to it.
His lines can be so funny lol
Mark Whitten did a good job execution wise and really nailed Yamazaki’s aggression haha
Seto - Keith Silverstein
Keith Silverstein!!!! I’m pretty bias since I love Keith’s voice, its his usual voice.
I think its an okay match. I did notice that both JP and EN voices have a similar “velvety”...tone??
Idk if that’s the right word but both voices seem to have a similar texture/color to them, so that’s cool.
I imagined Seto with a deeper voice but its still fine.

hey…hey felix…you should gush about zhongli :)
Ooough Mana... Thank you... I dont even know where to explain I just really really love this man. I know he wasn't even the first Genshin man I looked at but then someone said "hey he reminds me a bit of Kunikida and has a nice voice" and I was like damn ok lemme check him out. And then it was an immediate nosedive when I learned he was voiced by Keith Silverstein. This was all back in early November i downloaded Genshin just because I wanted to see this man
Hes very pretty and soft and handsome and I really do like him cuz hes nice and caring and loved sharing random facts abt flowers or some random thing cuz he likes you. Literally he says he only shares useless facts with someone if he likes them cuz he feels its fun. Hes also so deeply flawed and for a 6000 year old god he keeps trying to learn and grow from his past mistakes and he is a deeply flawed perspn who still does fuck up at times but you can tell he is trying and thinks hes doing his best for others
I just really like him I think hes neat. He's someone I want to study like an ant becajse I think the way he acts and thinks is just so fascinating, but I also know he would treat me nice because he is sucha gentleman and would still refer to it as "courting" probably and the thought of him being romantic and gentle makes me melt into a puddle in the floor
