It’s been a minute since the last archive update (both on here and actually updating the drive - life has been busy) so here’s some things:

The limited run of Volume 11 has officially ended, which means the artbooks are no longer for sale. This was my minimum date for when I’d share the pages - so expect to see that artbook at some point! There is not much in the way of brand new art, but I’ll endeavour to make they’re available in good quality. The cover will probably take the longest as it has a significant texture to it that obscured details when scanned - but with the greyscale image released as the Chapter 64 cover this will help significantly.

The Reproduction Selection translation is still on-going! I need to touch base with the incredible people who’ve volunteered their help. As with other older material, we’re taking this at a leisurely pace - and with the holiday period coming up please don’t expect anything too soon.

I’m putting a brief pause on Official Merch photos being uploaded as the interest in these is likely to be minimal, and I’m trying to prioritise the artbook. I still have a lot of things to catalogue - and I’m thinking it may be best to drop them in larger waves to avoid having to update the index too frequently.

In a similar vein - the Index might be out of whack for a while. I’ve been reorganising it on an offline copy to be a bit easier to read, make sure file names are consistent, and to condense the folder structure - but I’m realising this is probably something to do once I’ve got everything in the archive and have limited updates to make. So that’s also on hold for the time being!

Generally though - my own activity takes a dip this time of year for obvious reasons so things will be slow for a little while. Thank you so much for the support on this project so far though - it’s been very rewarding to put my sorting-habits to good use for a change!

Observation Log Series: Sayaka [II]

Rewatched some Sayaka episodes to see if I forgot any details - interestingly, I managed to observe her room this time. Magical girls and their dwellings seem to infer a lot about them [well, the home of a magical girl is just the shell of their Witch's labyrinth after all]. Unlike Homura who has a lot of frames hung up about Walpurgisnacht, coupled with gears and clockwork to resemble a swinging pendulum [which was, of course, shaped like an axe in foreshadowing of Homulily's 'funeral'] or Madoka's strange house full of chairs in one room, Sayaka's room....has a lot of mirrors.

It's probably picked up by many people prior already, but it's no less interesting as this seems to confirm the analysis on how Sayaka lives in an 'echo chamber' of her own depressive thoughts and is obsessed with herself not in a way that is purely selfish, but rather a desire for others to understand why she's infatuated with her own grief to begin with. Since this sentiment was not received, she spiralled.

In the second picture, you can also see more clearly a crown sitting atop her shelf. It eludes to the crown of Oktavia.

This is more of an observation for myself because I Think It's Cool, but when Sayaka's despair spikes during the scene of the men discussing sigma male shit or whatever, her eyes reflect the magic circles that is often seen bubbling around her to heal wounds. Here, as opposed to 'healing' purposes, it's the activation of her powers for the [possible] use of violence against human beings.

This one's a bit more obvious: the signboard behind both of them are a forecast warning on rainy weather and that individuals should optimally seek shelter as soon as possible < at first I interpreted this as a typhoon season warning, which was the stage set-up for Walpurgisnacht's arrival , but umbrellas aren't the emblems for typhoon storms, they're for rain. The sign is inscribed in the Witch runes we see, not the Japanese language, which wouldn't be far-fetched to say that it's a warning of Oktavia's imminent birth.

That's all for today. This analysis is rushed because I have assignments. but I wanted to just. Put it out there. Even if I am only five hundred years late/slow to the party.

Fanfiction Reading Log

I did Fanfiction Reading Log to Google Sheets with really cool and neatly looking statistics and I thought it would be nice to share to everybody.

The list of updates and links to the update info post are in the end of this post.

Please mind that I'm still in the middle of testing it and I've found one bug I don't know how to fix it and I'm going to update as I find some mistakes, so you might be better to save also the link to the original file (it can be also found from Instructions sheet). I'm not professional with Excel/Google Sheets so all the feedback will be taken with huge thanks and I will do my best to fix every problem you might have, but just a warning: I have full time job, full time school and everything else going on in my life (for example huge fanfic I'm writing), so it might not be fast.

This is mostly for AO3 fanfics, but of course you can put there anything you want! I did this, because I have all the time time over 200 tabs open in my phone's browser and I'm still always trying to find something new to read, because "I don't have anything on my TBR". So yeah, here you go & if you have any ideas you would want to add there, you can also let me know that so I can think of it! :)

Update on March 12th: This is starting to look pretty good and I am going to update changes here, so please follow along if you want to know about updates. I'm trying to figure out some easy ways to keep people updated if they want to get some kind of notification when I've published new update.

Imagine working in literally any other branch of the Magnus Institute. Some HR person working 9-5 and hearing that all of a sudden that guy he used to work with in research is on the run for murdering some old guy? Two archival assistants died? Oh, the paperwork to come.

But that’s not even the end of it, now his boss has been replaced with some creepy pirate guy who has made another archival assistant his personal assistant, the new archival assistant who used to run that ‘what the ghost’ podcast blinded herself, and there’s also a cop trapped in the archives?

The incident report forms start to pile up, and HR guy’s only question is “what the hell is going on in the archives?” Except now the old archivist, the one he used to work with, is back. There wasn’t a trial, he wasn’t arrested, so he’s just still a murderer?

A few weeks later, one of his colleagues from finance tell him about some strange charges to the company and wants to know if he heard anything. Apparently, the archivist took a trip to the states and came back looking like he endured actual torture.

Now he knows that he doesn’t have the most conventional job, and after working at a paranormal research institute, he’s no skeptic. But he didn’t expect it to affect him at all.

But now the world is different, and the life he knew is gone, and all he feels is fear and he somehow knows that it comes back to the archives.
