In a dimly lit ballroom, adorned with Gothic architecture and flickering candles, Vampire Hunter D and Meier Link find themselves in an unexpected yet strangely captivating situation. As the pulsating beat of "Boogie Wonderland" fills the air, the two adversaries-turned-dance partners engage in a mesmerizing dance-off.
With graceful yet powerful movements, Vampire Hunter D showcases his supernatural agility, effortlessly gliding across the floor with an aura of mystique. Meanwhile, Meier Link, with his aristocratic demeanor and mesmerizing charm, matches D's moves with his own flair, exuding an air of elegance and allure.
As they twirl and spin in perfect synchronization, their eyes lock in a silent acknowledgment of mutual respect, transcending their roles as hunter and prey. The onlookers, both human and supernatural, watch in awe as the unlikely duo transforms the solemn atmosphere into a vibrant spectacle of rhythm and grace.
With each step, they seem to blur the lines between adversaries and allies, momentarily forgetting their differences as they immerse themselves in the euphoria of the music. And for a brief moment in time, the world stands still, captivated by the captivating dance of Vampire Hunter D and Meier Link in their own version of "Boogie Wonderland."
Avery is a 70s girlie. She loves pantsuits, midi and pleated skirts, sweater, knit, and wrap dresses, graphic tees and halter tops, knit ponchos, fabric and suede trench coats, neck scarfs, wedge heels, vintage dancing shoes, clogs, and bell bottom jeans. Her go-to 'fits when she wants to mix modern with 70s inspo include colorful flared pants, peasant-style crops with big puff sleeves, headbands with a trailing piece of fabric, chunky earrings, big sunglasses, platform shoes, bangle bracelets, and a mood ring. Most of all, she’s a sucker for jumpsuits especially the disco-themed ones.
When she was 14, her mom made her a sequined jumpsuit with a velvety sash for a project that focused on the different eras and the teacher was hosting a contest for all the students that had costume based on the era and its authenticity. Avery won since the teacher was impressed by the genuine look to it compared to a cheaply made store costume and also got best grade with her partner on the project out of the class. She also wore it as her Halloween costume that year and had the time of her life when they played Shake Your Groove Thing.
However, she not only likes the fashion trends from then but also has a thing for the songs no matter how much disco music is frowned upon. She made an entire playlist dedicated to it and her personal favorite is Boogie Wonderland. Sometimes, she's just feeling in a groove and puts on a jumpsuit (favoring the evening kind) and then blasts the playlist, jumping on her bed and dancing in the middle the room as she's singing out the lyrics to every song that she's listened to a thousand times before with a bona fide disco ball spinning from the ceiling. There may have been a few instances when Jameson has passed her room through the fireplace passageway and heard her during these disco seshes but he never disturbs her and just smiles as he slinks through the shadows, knowing he'll never tell a soul about her dance breaks. Not even Max knows, although, they would probably have the best girl nights ever if she did.

Making people smile and have a good time has always been your sole purpose in life. You feel confident that music is your ticket to doing so. Ever since you could remember you’ve wanted to work at a club, determined to be the person creating good vibes. You’d see the way your mother would come home with nothing but a huge smile on her face after a night out. You started working at Silk & Soul a few years ago, and it felt like all the pieces were finally coming together. You worked your way up and, when the resident Disc Jockey was fired, you knew it was your time. Your love for music and good vibes could be shared with the crowd. The demand for entry at the club has never been so high; word spreads like wildfire about how good a night out there is with your DJ skills. The only thing is, no matter how content you are with your career, your family still cannot accept it. You’ve chosen a different path to the rest of your siblings, who have all established responsible, well earning jobs that will enable them to lead stable lives. Your mother often guilts you with the fact that she didn’t work so hard as a single parent to have you work in a club with a job that pays so little. The thing is, it makes you happy.. But will it continue to make you happy in the long run? How long will you be in awe of the glittery, exciting side to your job before the guilt and disappointment eats away at you, before reality sets in?
CONNECTIONS:
(connections with a * are considered mandatory, while others are only suggestions)
PIANO MAN: After befriending PIANO MAN through the local music scene, the two of you have become a rather dynamic duo. Not only are they someone you can rely on, but somebody who encourages you to reach your full potential as well.
TINY DANCER: You love connecting with others through the power of music, and your job at SILK & SOUL provides you with the perfect opportunity to do so. TINY DANCER’s energy is often infectious and while you wouldn’t consider them a close friend, it’s easy for you to note when they aren’t feeling their best. Will you be able to coax them out of their shell, or will this surface level friendship stick to the club?
what happens when the really fun / interesting polls close but people still want to do them because polls have kind of encroached on the territory of those 'in the tags' posts. are we doomed to keep duplicating these same polls ad infinitum so people who missed out can have a go at them? was this one of tumblr's plans to revitalize the site when it was dying? bait a bunch of terminally online weirdos (affectionate) by tempting us with the opportunity to be perceived in the liminal, digital space that is the tags section? where you can both say things and yet not say them, say them a little softer, with the comfort of knowing that if the post is very popular, no one will see you overshare about your favourite hot dog topping or song you're always ready to throw down to or what sex position you feel best represents your brand?
