i find it sooooo funny that when meg posesses sam and kidnapps jo in s2e14 sam (meg) starts talking shit about dean and jo’s relationship trying to convince jo that dean only views her as a little sister. He says it to hurt her and crush her hopes, obviously, but It comes off in such a JEALOUS manner. Like during the episode the viewer doesnt know that its meg so its just sam acting evil and hurting jo as a way to hurt dean……. he hits dean in the face then goes to hit where it really hurts, their only friend in their age range….. of course its actually meg saying all this and its also about the link between jo’s dad and john but it literally comes out as this VIOLENT competitive jealousy…. Like really? Jo as a little sister? And sam, who is the little brother, is the one saying this??? Really? Dean is obviously attracted to jo! Right?

the episode couldve SO easily gone another way. Dean couldve brought jo along and they couldve saved sam together, their relationship finally blossoming. Dean would learn to get help from others. But that doesn’t happen LOL…. Instead Dean rejects Jo, saying its not her business, and although he says that cause he cares about her and cant allow himself that she gets hurt, he leaves saying that its a SAM AND DEAN thing, and although he promises that he’ll call, Jo says outloud (almost like she’s complaining to the viewer) that she knows he wont. The show reminds us that it is about SAM AND DEAN as if we didn’t know. And the tension continues. And they drive to whatever town knowing dean cant and wont kill sam no matter what sam does, who he hurts, who he kills.

Absolutely insane……………… how could they write stuff like this?

BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN

Meg!Sam was a gift. Not only Jared's acting was top notch, the episode itself was a solid one. Its amazing to see that Jared kept Nikki Aycox's mannerisms but also made it his very own character as well! "My dad shot your dad in the head" will never not be iconic! The exorcism scene was also another high, high point.

But we truly do not talk about this scene enough. At first, it seems to be there so the audience gets some kind of bridge in between events so Jo being tied down in the next take doesn't appear left field, but it is also more.

Story wise, by 'Sam's' words, we are led to believe that Dean doesnt see Jo as a "love interest" and effectively after that scene, most people wont/didnt anymore, but what gets me is two other aspects: its the physicality and relatability.

The way Jared used his physicality still amazes me. He went from a non assuming, nonchalant guy talking to an acquittance to a deranged dangerous predator toying with its prey. He built it so beautifully and so realistically the second half of the scene is uncomfortable to watch.

This uncomfortability (is that a word?) is also partly due to how relatable to women it is. Sam is just a 'nice' guy that is checking on a friend, then shows interest in being more than friends, gets shot down, goes on the defensive, then goes on an offensive by dismissing her feelings and finally, he physically attacks and overpowers her. Its so common to see these same tactics - sometimes with the physical attack, sometimes not - and if not ourselves, it happened to friends as well.

Funny thing to me is that I only really thought about it years after watching it the first time. Maturity really gets one to look at things from a new perspectives.
