Wood Top Heritage
A patchily sunny mid-February Sunday, we walked through the park beginning to bloom with almonds and cherries, up to Wood Top, in search of new lambs. On the ascent, recent research enabled us to place the long-gone Victoria Mill and the station warehouse and further up, to speculate on the origin of the farmhouse. Date stamped 1657, tall arched doors either side signified it started out as a…

In Honor of the late Neil Bonnett's Birthday July 30, 1946; I decided to make a watercolor painting of his greatest racing victory's at the Goodyear NASCAR 500 on February 28, 1988 at the Calder Park Thunderdome in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Neil Bonnett made history after already having won the Richmond 400 the previous weekend, setting his sights on a win in the land down under; After a gruelingly hot 500 Kilometers or 310 Miles Bonnett pulled into victory lane becoming a Winner on two separate continents back to back.

Commissioned for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill's Chase Manhattan Bank building at 410 Park Avenue, this hanging mobile was on public view on the second floor for decades and remains in the bank’s collection to this day. Josep Lluís Sert—another architect who featured the artist’s work in his buildings—wrote, “When looking at pictures of buildings, [Calder] expressed his preference for strong primitive looking structures that express, like his works, the way they have been put together and why they do not fall apart.”

Far-left billionaire kingmaker George Soros has funneled more than $15 million since 2016 to groups behind this month’s pro-Palestine protests, where demonstrators openly cheered Hamas militants’ craven terrorist attacks on Israel.
A Post examination of Open Society Foundations records shows Soros’ grant-making network gave $13.7 million of the money through Tides Center, a deep-pocketed lefty advocacy group that sponsors several nonprofits who’ve justified Hamas’ bloody attacks while claiming Palestinians obsessed with the eradication of the Jewish state are the real victims.
Tides’ beneficiaries include Illinois-based Adalah Justice Project, which on the day of the Oct. 7 massacre posted a photo on Instagram of a bulldozer tearing part of Israel’s border fence down and a caption: “Israeli colonizers believed they could indefinitely trap two million people in an open-air prison… no cage goes unchallenged.”
Members of the Palestinian advocacy group occupied California Rep. Ro Khanna’s office on Oct. 20 to demand he sign a resolution calling for ceasefire in Gaza. Adalah’s members also co-sponsored a rally that same day in Bryant Park where hostile demonstrators spewed antisemitic chants and waved a sign that read “I DO NOT CONDEMN HAMAS.”
It also gave $30,000 in 2020 to Desis Rising Up and Moving, another co-sponsor of the Bryant Park protest where 139 people were arrested, financial records show.
Open Society Foundations gave $60,000 in 2018 to the Arab American Association of New York, a group co-founded by politically connected activist Linda Sarsour that helped plan a hate-filled “Flood Brooklyn for Palestine” protest in Bay Ridge on Oct. 21, where protestors called for the eradication of Israel and held a sign of the Israeli flag in a trash basket that read “Please keep the world clean!”
Open Society Foundations also awarded $1.5 million to Adalah’s founding nonprofit, Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, but only $800,000 of it was received before the legal center cut ties with the American organization in 2018. The legal center says its mission is to promote human rights in Israel.
Other Soros-backed, Palestinian advocacy groups whose members have been spewing hate at rallies since the massacre include Jewish Voice for Peace and If Not Now, which received $650,000 and $400,000, respectively.

Blossoming Out (Wood Top to Mytholmroyd)
Realising roadworks would make for a slow ride, later in May, we again ditched the idea of catching the Colden bus, bought co-op meal deals and proceeded up Fountain Street awash with poppies, to the towpath, awash with marguerites.  Painter Friend strolled over Blackpit Lock. “Have you finished early?” I asked. “Yes; I started early. Six hours painting windows – boring!” “I know. I’ve been doing…

Formula 2 race winner Jack Doohan will drive a Supercar at Calder Park ahead of next weekend’s Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
The Australian will travel home later this week after securing a podium in Sunday’s Feature race in Saudi Arabia.
He’ll first head to Queensland, accompanied by Mercedes F1 reserve driver Mick Schumacher, before venturing south.
“I have commitments with Alpine that I have to contribute to in Paris following next week for some marketing events,” he said when asked about his Albert Park prep by Speedcafe.
“I’ll get home on Saturday morning.
“Mick [Schumacher] is also flying back with me, so he’s going to come in and stay for a few days.
“I want to get him out to Norwell as well and then I’ll fly down on Tuesday evening to Melbourne.
“I have another commitment on Wednesday, I think I’m driving V8 Supercar around Calder Park.
“And then, yeah, getting stuck into the race weekend.”

After a long, arduous writing process, I, with the help of many loving friends (Clara and @spiceberrie ), have completed my first hockey fic. Please gaze upon it kindly:
Joe Veleno gears up for his sophomore season with big plans: land the opening night roster, play better hockey, apparently shoot a few new MoJoe show episodes and – try to forget about Moritz Seider.
When Joe swerves into the parking lot and stops, Mo finally looks at him. His eyes are icy blue. The way the Sun sneaks in under the roof of the car, slanted, it blasts half his iris into light, making it appear almost white. “Wanna come up?” he asks.
For further lore please watch this:

And after looking at these intense pictures (+ babyfaced joeyv @ combine), watch the calder video (a confession of undying love):
