Let's talk about editing today. Literally everyone edits, or has edited or will edit. Taking a photo is cool, but when you start to build a style of editing, that's where I think photography is truly the most fun. Editing is literally the equivalent feeling of putting the icing on the cake. You know the inside is good, but if you dont make it appealing, no one will turn their heads or bat an eye. I dont believe there are many rules when it comes to editing. It just depends on what you want to bring attention to in the photo. What you choose to emphasize. Our eyes tend to tell us when we hit that final product. You get this gut feeling that says... yup, That's it, hit save and post. Dont get too caught up in the #nofilter trend. I encourage you to let yourself be inspired, and do what you want to do with your photos. Some people are gonna like em, and some won't. That's just how it is. Just make sure that you are happy with your end product. And also, when you see an edit, dont get discouraged when you take a picture and it doesnt come out like someone else's shot you saw. Theres a lot of processing that happens behind the scenes that people dont tend to talk about. Here's an example of how I edit. I love color, and I love texture. While other people edit away wrinkles, I love to bring them out. I feel like skin and other surfaces have their own story to tell. And when possible, I like to make my pictures seem like something you can touch. How I shot these sun kissed images ? I was shooting the images on set with white background and setup with large octa and fill for a beauty⁣ hair campaign. I saw this beautiful patch of sunlight beaming through the window in front of the makeup table.⁣ Asked lovely @tanayedubz to jump right in that spot where the sun was hitting her face. When capturing such an image it’s important to capture the mood, I loved the mirror and the other ambient lights in the background, I quickly changed my camera settings to ISO 800 that way I’ll be able to get some of that background in exposure and not have it all dark, dialed the shutter to about 60 fps . Shot it with my @canon5dmark4 with #canon70200mm at 85mm focal length and to bring her more in the forefront and throw the background out of focus shot it at shallow depth of field at aperture to F2.8 on my Tripod.
