To get to know my soul again
Author: @staceymcgillicuddy
Rating/Warning: Explicit, referenced ED, referenced DV
Chapter Count: 10/?
Description:
Eddie never was a planner, but his new life necessitates having some idea of where he’s going, and when he’ll get there. He’d like to think that makes him more mature, but he’s still flying by the seat of his pants when it comes to the big picture. Getting his CDL was a way to escape Hawkins. To see the country, even if he’s mostly seeing long, lonely stretches of interstate in between depots.
There are bright spots. Hazy desert sunrises that make him want to write a sad song, and the occasional free evening to take in a show, meet some locals. Follow a pretty girl to her apartment if she’ll have him.
Most of the time, though, life comprises shitty diner burgers and far too little sleep. It's a lonely existence, but it suits him fine, until the night a strawberry-blonde ponytail at a gas station in Kentucky stops him in his tracks.

eddie munson x shy!oc
contents: anxiety, curse words, friends to lovers. lovesick!eddie, inexperienced!reader, self-consciousness, first kiss, sharing clothes. eddie’s jacket is oversized on reader. can be read as x reader, but a bit oc too? carnival date.
word count: ~1.5k
Tumblr media
eddie munson is in love.
she is entirely inexperienced in anything romantic or sexual; no first kiss, never even got close to it. extremely shy and anxious, has a seemingly innocent aura, is a bit out of sorts, ditzy, with a sort of luna lovegood vibe. doesn’t argue with people, always tears up if confronted about anything, doesn’t have beef with anyone and is a lot more rational than emotional even though she tears up so easily. also doesn’t hold grudges or care what people think of her…
the thing is, she has been introverted her whole life, a very anxious person, and so doesn’t understand that eddie munson likes her because she needs to be told how people feel about her very explicitly otherwise her mind will convince her they hate her. anxiety is like that. and she’s the kind of person that has a hard time realizing that people can perceive their existence and have feelings for them, no matter what type of feelings, so even though eddie is not at all shy about flirting with her and giving her all of the attention in the world in his over-the-top, overdramatic way, he also knows that if anything other than the friendship he’s thankfully managed to build with her is going to happen, romantic-wise, that she has to be the one to initiate it— but she’s oblivious!
on the other hand though, she doesn’t even bother hiding her infatuation with eddie — it’s a lot more than infatuation by now. she’s always looking at him with stars in her eyes and laughs at his jokes and smiles that big, square, goofy smile whenever they lock eyes and constantly praises him because he deserves to feel as special as he is, right? and she goes into detailed talks about lord of the rings with him, likes many of the same bands he does or simply lets him play his favorites for her, and she truly loves to watch hellfire play dungeons & dragons.
her eds even made her a special edition pink hellfire shirt. ‘cause he’s a simp.
one day, as she’s out with chrissy and heather outside a diner, talking and laughing and catching up, eddie is close by somewhere with friends. his van is parked nearby.
it starts getting chilly, and eddie’s girl starts shivering, so she quickly excused herself away from the girls, “gimme a second!” and reaches through the open window of eddie’s van, making a mental note to grill him about it later — “‘cause it isn’t safe, eds!” — to grab his leather jacket thinking of how he has told her over and over that she can borrow it, that “what’s mine is yours, sweets. i don’t mind sharing if it’s with you”, so she figures it’s okay, right? and goes back to the girls who are fucking smirking like they see something she doesn’t.
it’s about fifteen minutes later, and eddie is walking towards the trio, simply because he misses his girl and wants a hug, when he sees it.
she’s wearing his jacket. his jacket.
in typical eddie fashion, he makes a scene— gasping dramatically, he clutches his chest over his heart and falls to his knees, because fuck what anyone around thinks. his precious girl is wearing his fucking jacket! and she looks like a fucking angel.
“eds, what are you doin’?”
“do you know how heavenly you look in my jacket? i just had to get on my knees to worship you.”
the boy shuffles closer to his sweet girl on his knees still while he talks and she’s flustered, okay? she’s shy and her face is on fire and she’s covering her cheeks and giggling. and because it’s eddie, her eddie, she’s not running away to have a panic attack. ‘cause it’s eddie and he’s being sweet, so she can’t focus on anyone else long enough to feel crippling anxiety or embarrassment. doesn’t even care that chrissy is cooing and heather is smirking.
“that jacket is yours now, you own it. you pretty much own me by now.” eddie says, on his knees, in front of her
“it’s okay that i took it right?” she makes sure even after his display of joy, ‘cause anxiety isn’t rational “you said i—”
her eddie knows her, though. he stands up, gets real fucking close to her, so close they’re almost touching, with this look of absolute adoration and “i’d give ya everything i have if i could, pretty.”
fast forward a few days later. chrissy kept yapping on and on to the oblivious girl about how “in love” eddie is, but it’s as though her brain won’t let her even entertain the idea.
that’s until she’s having a semi-regular quote unquote friend-date with eddie, something they’ve done quite a few times before, and this time they go to the fair. they’re doing everything couples might do, eddie is very aware of this, and he’s over the moon to just be enjoying quality time with his pretty girl until she spots a photobooth, “oh, eds! we have to!” and eddie’s desperately counting coins to pay. the pictures go a little something like this:
after coming up blank with pose ideas, they just look at each other and laugh, but at the sound of his free and bright laugh, she just stares at her boy like he’s a dream come true— first pic is taken, looking at eddie like he hung the moon while he’s mid-laugh.
eddie notices her staring and goes from loud laughs to breathless ones, a smile on his lips, and whispers a soft “what?”— second picture is taken as the girl quickly presses her lips to his, her very first kiss, and it’s caught on camera.
the third picture depicts eddie’s sweet girl nervously rambling “i was going to ask for permission first, i promise!” while eddie has a glassy, dreamy look on his face, slack jawed, looking at her lips.
and at the fourth snap? eddie presses forward to shut her up with another impossibly soft and tender kiss, both of their eyes are closed and his hand is holding her jaw, thumb brushing her cheek.
after they part from the second kiss, eddie acknowledges that it was her first kiss, a shy “was that okay?” to which his sweetheart just smiles really big and nods excitedly over and over with a breathless giggle. that was the perfect first and second kiss and she couldn’t ask for more.
they hold hands the rest of the night.

Tumblr media
In the halls of school, you tuned out the chatter of passing faces, finding solace within your close circle of friends, Hellfire. They were your everything, your unbreakable bond. Yet, starting senior year, you’ve felt like you need more experiences and friends. This is why you have chosen to join the cheerleading team. Since forever you’ve wanted to be a cheerleader, to rally for your team at sports events, and soak in the electrifying atmosphere. This final year of high school arrives and your determined to make the most out of every moment. Your just not sure how well Eddie is going to react once you tell him.
The noisy cafeteria buzzes with activity as you find a seat. The clatter of trays, the hum of conversation, and the occasional burst of laughter create a lively atmosphere. You settle into your seat at the lunch table, greeted by the familiar faces of your friends. The conversation flows around you, but your mind is preoccupied with the weight of the news you need to share with Eddie. You take a deep breath, trying to find the right moment. As you engage in the conversation you steal glances at Eddie, searching for the right opening. Finally, as the conversation dips into a lull, you catch Eddie's eye and motion for him to join you for a moment. Taking another deep breath, you prepare to share the news with him, hoping for understanding and support.
“WHAT?’’ Eddie screams across the cafeteria. Yeah, you figured he wasn't going to take this well.
“I want to try out new things Eds” you explain to him with pleading eyes hoping he understands.
You've observed Eddie's feelings towards the cheerleaders, and it's clear he's had negative experiences with them in the past. However, there's a glimmer of hope in Chrissy, who stands out as a kind and considerate person. You hold onto this as you approach Eddie. To explain that they are not all bad.
“I know what you're thinking, you're thinking I'm going to turn into one of them. I promise you I won't ever be like that besides look at Chrissy. She hangs out with them daily and she's as sweet as can be.” He lets out a big sigh and gives you a stern look.
“You are still coming to hellfire, and you have to promise you won't ever miss a meeting or campaign.” He says whilst embracing you into a tight hug. “I’ll come support you at try-outs, I'll even bring a sign.” he laughs and places his hands onto your cheeks. Looking into your eyes adoringly
“It's going to say, go y/n you're a superstar!” he teases, squishing your cheeks together making your lips look like a fish, whilst laughing loudly. You push his hands away and try to run away from him.
“Please god no, you can watch but no signs, cheering or whistling.”
“Whistling?” he says acting confused.
“I know you Eddie Munson and I don't want a peep coming out of that mouth”.
He gestures a zipped mouth. As you resume your seat at the table, the conversation shifts gears towards brainstorming new campaign ideas. The atmosphere becomes more focused and animated, with everyone eager to contribute their thoughts.
Tumblr media
The nervous energy in the gymnasium is loud as you enter. However, seeing Eddie's smiling face in the crowd offers a reassuring boost of confidence. His presence is a source of comfort, and you know that he's there to support you.
To your surprise, the girls on the team welcome you warmly. They shower you with compliments on your appearance, instantly putting you at ease. Their kindness and willingness to help with the choreography made me feel welcomed. It’s a pleasant surprise to encounter such a supportive and friendly group.
As you begin to practice and interact with the team, you realize that this experience might be more enjoyable and fulfilling than you initially thought. The positive atmosphere and warm reception from everyone make you feel like your part of a team that genuinely cares about one another. This realization boosts your confidence and eases any remaining nerves.
You got accepted to be on the team and you ran straight to eddie.
“Guess who's a cheerleader now?” you said , buzzing with excitement.
Eddie's excitement is contagious, and without a moment's hesitation, he pulls you into a tight embrace. You can feel his genuine happiness radiating through the hug, and it's as if the world spins around you both. Laughter bubbles up from both of you, filling the gymnasium with a light and joyous energy. He whispered a million congratulations in your ear. As we pulled away from the hug He looked like he had something on his mind. Something important to tell you but he quickly shook the expression off and went back to congratulating you.
“We should celebrate over milkshakes, my treat okay?” he said, brushing a piece of your hair behind your ear. You looked up at him with a smile, the kind of smile you made whenever you were about to cause trouble. ”Race you to the car” you said, running out of the gymnasium and sprinting to the car. Suddenly, you feel strong hands on your waist, and before you know it, you're lifted off the ground. You let out a surprised laugh, feeling weightless for a moment. It's Eddie, his laughter mixing with yours as he playfully swings you around. “Gotcha” he whispers in your ear. He opens the passenger door and gestures for you to get in with a bow.
We arrived at benny's burger bar and ordered two chocolate milkshakes
“Carol, you know the one with the short blonde hair, well she invited me to a party to celebrate me joining the team i'm not sure if i'll even go it'll probably just be a bunch of jocks making out ” you rambled on while sipping on your milkshake, he let out a loud laugh causing everyone in the diner to look at us. After he composed himself he finally spoke.
“Maybe go for an hour then see how you feel and if you're not having fun or something happens call me okay. please?” he grabbed your hand from across the table giving it a gentle squeeze.
“I will, I promise.” You stayed silent for a moment
‘’You know you could always come with me” “nope” “eddie come on please” “not happening sweetheart” you crossed your arms and gave him a defeated look with a pout
you could tell he was trying to hold in his laughter.
The evening continues in a warm and comfortable manner. Eddie pays for the milkshakes, a gesture that makes you grateful. As you leave the diner, you walk hand in hand, a familiar and affectionate gesture between you two. It's not the first time that people have mistaken you for a couple, but you're both used to it by now. Eddie would always brush it off when someone would ask if the two of you were together but you couldn't help but want him to say yes. You wanted him to want you as something more than just his best friend.
The drive back is filled with easy conversation and shared laughter. Eddie drops you off at your house just in time for your curfew, a small but thoughtful detail that shows how much he cares. Eddie's thoughtfulness has always been a defining trait in your friendship. It's those extra gestures, like paying for milkshakes or making sure you get home on time, that make him stand out. It's not just about the big moments, but also the small, thoughtful gestures that make you feel valued and cherished in your friendship with Eddie. Like when you were young and he would paint your right hand nails with polish because you were still figuring out how to paint with your left hand. So he would try to do it for you, he would always give you the last slice of pizza even if you were full and the way he always made sure you were okay.
The street lights cast a soft, golden glow on the pavement, creating a serene atmosphere. You stand on the doorstep, reluctant to say goodbye after such a wonderful evening. As you bid Eddie goodnight, you're filled with a sense of contentment and gratitude for the special friendship you share. Waving and blowing kisses at him as he drives away.
At times, you found yourself wondering whether Eddie shared the same sentiments you had towards your relationship. You yearned for him to perceive you as something beyond just a friend.
Because every time you pictured yourself with anyone it was always him.
Tumblr media
you had not seen Eddie all weekend, normally he would call or come over but not this weekend apparently. You went over to his trailer on Sunday but nobody was home, he normally went out of town with his uncle a couple times of the year so you assumed it was just that.
Entering the school halls, a subtle shift came over you. Adorned in your cheerleading attire to match the other girls, with your hair elegantly curled, you became a beacon of attention. It was as if every gaze was directed towards you, but in a most positive and affirming manner. You walked towards hellfire to say hi, but you were dragged away by carol who started introducing you to the cheerleaders.
“So are you coming to the party tonight? If you are, come to mine before we are all going to get ready together.” she said whilst reapplying her lip gloss.
“Okay yeah I will” you replied buzzing with excitement. She smiled and complimented your hair. You felt overjoyed at this new attention you were getting.
Turning towards Eddie's locker you saw a girl standing beside him she had a hellfire shirt on, loads of piercings and raven black hair. Eddie hand his hand on her waist and was smiling brightly at her. All of the hellfire members were staring at her as if she hung the moon.
You felt a wave of hurt rush over yourself. Carol turned to you and followed your gaze. Along with Olivia and Layla who were very close with carol and were also on the team.
“that’s the new girl Olivia was talking about I think her name is Roxanne or something. Apparently she’s a total loser, Wouldn’t be surprised.” Carol said with a laugh.
"apparently they have been seen hanging out all weekend" Layla said as she looked at the pair with disgust
“I heard she’s joining hellfire, which is like the worst thing you could ever do no offense y/n” Olivia said whilst fixing her hair. “Your pretty so you can get away with the whole nerdy thing” she slammed her locker shut.
“Yeah, some of us aren’t that lucky” carol said staring at Roxanne with a smirk.
As the bell echoed through the halls, you said bye to the girls and quickly rushed off to the bathroom. Fixing your hair and reapplying your lip-gloss. You stared at yourself in the bathroom mirror replaying the scene you had just seen. Why was he looking at her like that. Shes why he didnt call.
Tumblr media
You hadn't really seen Eddie all day except once at lunch. He was avoiding you and you knew that because every time you would walk up to him to say hi he would bolt the other way. He was sitting with hellfire at their lunch table, all of them laughing together. your heart swelled with relief as you caught sight of him. There he stood, a beacon of happiness, his face lit up with a radiant smile that seemed to chase away any lingering doubts or worries. It was as if his joy was contagious, enveloping the space around us with a warm and inviting glow. He was talking to Gareth and throwing his head back with laughter, but as you walked over to the table, you noticed her sitting next to him. In your spot. So, you did what any mature teenage girl would do. And instead of confronting her.
you walked straight past the table and headed over to the jocks table. Deciding to sit with them instead because when the cheerleaders saw you walk towards their table their smiles grew and they made space for you to sit with them. You felt wanted and included here. you looked over at Eddie and to your surprise he was already looking at you. Your smile faded once you saw his expression. He looked hurt. You saw Roxanne holding onto eddies arm and you looked away.
Were they dating? No way its been like 3 days. Maybe they have known eachother for longer? where did they even meet? why did he like her? You were so lost in your thoughts you didn’t notice Chrissy talking to you.
“y/n are you even listening right now” Layla another cheerleader said with a pout as she stared at you waiting for you to reply. “Yeah, sorry what were you guys saying?”
“Does my hair look flat” they all said in union. You shook your head fighting the urge to laugh.
Turning your gaze back to Eddie, you observed him and Roxanne sharing a moment of genuine happiness. Their laughter danced through the air, painting the scene with vibrant hues of joy. You watched as he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and winked at her. you needed to get over this crush now.
but you missed the way that when you looked away from Eddie his gaze and attention was all on you.

He's perched on top the counter — arms squeezed around your middle. His unruly curls tickle the nape of your neck while his chin rest on your shoulder.
You were partly listening to Steve, chewing at the rim of your cup as he drones on and on about his date with Brenda. Eddie was a bit too stoned, almost passing out behind you.
He gets clingily when he's like this, using the excuse that you keep him from floating away — keep him grounded. Truthfully, Eddie was a big ole' softie.
Only for you, of course.
The party was quickly dying — the clock ticking close to twelve o'clock, many of the Hawkins social scene have called it a night. A few stragglers remain, scattered about the house.
You could feel her gaze on the pair of you — the familiar feeling of someone watching you has been a common occurrence tonight, ever since she walked in.
Your suspicion proved correct, glancing behind Steve to lock with a pair of striking blue eyes. The blonde is quick to look away, trying to play it cool like she wasn't just caught in the act — again.
"I think Chrissy has a crush on you, Eds."
"That's nice." He yawns, arms hugging you tighter — a delicate kiss to your skin, his face nuzzles into the crook of your neck. "Doesn't matter."
"Doesn't matter!" You gasp, pulling away to look at him. "Why's that?"
His lips pull into a playful grin, knowing the game you were playing. The two of you have yet to put a label on your relationship, but everybody knew.
It was clear as day, you two were together. Eddie Munson's heart belongs to you as yours does to him. The pair of you didn't need a label, faithful to the other.
That didn't mean it wasn't nice to hear every once in a while.
He turns you to face him — a smile on your lips, arms gliding around his neck, fingers weaving into his curls. "Don't want her." His forehead rest against yours, lips hovering dangerously close, nose nuzzling yours. "Only you, sweetheart."
Your smile tugs wider, stretching ear to ear. You lean back slightly, admiring the man who stole your heart so long ago. "I love you, Eddie Munson."
"I love you." His callous fingers caress your cheek — sweet, auburn eyes captivating, placing you deeper under their spell, staring at you as if you hung the moon and stars.
It was in these moments — when the rest of the world just fades away, leaving just the two of you. Nothing else mattered, only the love between two souls.
Love — extraordinary, rare, and beautiful. So, so beautiful.
"My girl." His soft, plush lips press to your forehead, pulling you impossibly closer to his chest — his ring covered hand grazing up and down your spine.
You don't waste a second, snuggling into him. Yeah, fuck a label — you didn't need it anyways. Eddie was yours, and you his.

Shopping with Eddie is like pulling teeth. First, you have to convince him to actually come to the mall with you. Then you have to continually bribe with treats from the food court just to keep him from driving off without you. Today, he’s snacking on a giant cinnamon pretzel from Auntie Anne’s and slurping on a root beer.
“Remind me why I need to be here again?” he whines as you compare two denim miniskirts that look identical to him, but apparently, you can spot a difference. He takes another bite of pretzel and sighs indignantly.
“Because,” you explain, exasperation evident in your tone, “I need a man’s opinion on what to wear for my date tonight, and you’re the closest thing I have.” You laugh as he playfully shoves you. “And I needed a ride, so…”
“So, basically, you’re just using me for my male gaze and my car, huh?” he asks, running a hand over a neatly folded pile of shirts on display.
“Pretty much.” you chirp, putting both skirts back on the rack. “Ugh, this is hopeless! I’m never gonna find something.” You blow out a big breath, puffing your cheeks. “One more store and then we can go home, I promise.”
Eddie rolls his eyes but dutifully follows behind you, taking the opportunity to check out the way your shorts perfectly hug your ass. He feels a twitch in his pants as your hips sway back and forth, and he wills himself to look away.
Unfortunately, in his pursuit to keep himself from popping a boner in the middle of the Starcourt Mall, his gaze lands on the entrance to a lingerie boutique. The mannequin out in front is adorned with a red lace teddy that leaves nothing to the imagination. His eyes dart back to you, and all he can think about is you wearing it. But not for your date with whatever schmuck you’re going out with tonight; no, Eddie wants you to wear it for him. In his bed, straddling his waist, grinding on his–
“Shit,” he mutters. He thinks his voice is low enough to keep you from hearing, but he cringes as you swivel around to see what the problem is, catching him trying to discreetly adjust himself over his jeans.
“You okay–oh,” you giggle, taking notice of his predicament. “Careful, Casanova; y’might wanna pick your jaw off the floor.” You put your forearm on his shoulder and rest your chin on top of it, making him tense up even more. “Who are you picturing in that? Chrissy Cunningham? Tammy Thompson?” Before he can answer, you press on. “Ooh, or maybe a supermodel, like Cindy Crawford or Iman? C’mon, who is it?”
“What if I was picturing you?” Eddie tries to play off his words teasingly, but the raw lust blowing out his pupils gives him away.
Biting your lower lip, you can taste the gloss you’d applied earlier. Every time Eddie jokes with you like this, pretending he wants you, it kills you inside. “Do you think I should try it on?” You look at him innocently, batting your eyelashes as you call his bluff. “Y’know, for Kyle tonight?”
At the mention of your date’s name, Eddie shrugs your arm off of him. “No,” he growls, hooking a ringed finger through your belt loop, “want you to try it on for me.” There’s no hiding his hardness now, and you can feel his heart beating faster as he draws closer to you. He swallows thickly, waiting for your response.
You’re too stunned to speak. Eddie has always been a flirt, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t have a crush on him, but he’s your best friend. There’s no way he seriously wants to see you in lingerie, right?
“O-Okay,” you manage, turning towards the store. Eddie intertwines his pinky with yours as though ensuring he won’t lose sight of you. You find the teddy in your size and bring it into the dressing room. To Eddie’s dismay, you yank the velvet curtain closed. He tilts his head slightly, trying to find a gap wide enough to get a glimpse of you changing. He can just imagine you shimmying out of your clothes and into the sheer lingerie.
Fuck it.
Careful not to expose you to a customer passing by, Eddie slips into the room, resting his hands on your waist as you examine yourself in the mirror. The lace clings to your body, hugging your curves in all the right ways. You can feel his hard length pressed up against the back of your naked thigh.
“Eddie,” you breathe out, trying to ignore the fluttering below your belly, “what are you doing?”
“Tell me something, princess,” he says, purposefully ignoring your question, “I pictured you putting this on, but who did you picture taking it off?” He waits for what seems like an eternity, silently praying that Kyle’s name doesn’t pass through your lips.
You turn to face him, letting his strong hands fall below the curve of your ass. “You, Eddie. Always you.” As soon as you give your answer, Eddie’s mouth crashes onto yours. He brings one palm to cup your cheek while he kisses you hungrily, moaning lightly with each flicker of his tongue against yours. He guides you to the wall, palming your breasts through the minimal covering.
Eddie nudges his knee between your thighs, brushing against your sensitive sex, and you moan involuntarily. “Oh, baby,” he coos, chuckling at your reaction to his touch, “so needy, aren’t we? I bet you’re already soaking wet. Almost pathetic how desperate you are f’me, huh?” You want to fire back with a witty retort about how he was the one who wanted you in lingerie; he barged into the dressing room while you were changing, but you can’t string words together to form a sentence. Instead, you nod dumbly, making him laugh again. “Don’t worry; I’ll tell you a little secret.” He nibbles at your earlobe before whispering, “This isn’t the first time I’ve thought about your sexy little body in one of these. Not even the first time today, actually.”
With that, your fingers fly to his belt, unbuckling it as deftly as you can, and tug his pants and boxers down his thighs. His throbbing cock thwacks against his torso, leaving a pre-cum stain on his shirt. He hisses at the sudden relief, using his own fluids as lube to pump himself. You start to get onto your knees, but he stops you.
“If you put your mouth on me, ‘m never gonna last,” he warns with a smirk. “That’ll be for next time, yeah?” The promise of a next time excites you even more, and you allow him to hoist you up against the wall, pushing aside the lace as he runs his cock along your slick folds. “Y’ready?” His eyes are wide; though he wants nothing more than to be inside you, but only if you want to. When you nod, his smile exposes his soft dimples. “Thas’ my girl.”
My girl my girl my girl. The words swirl through your brain as Eddie pushes his mushroom tip into you. The stretch is a mixture of pleasure and pain, melting into only the former as he slowly ruts up into you, allowing you to take a bit more of him each time.
Eddie’s never had sex this good before. You dig your fingernails into his back as your pussy clenches around him; he feels himself growing even harder inside you. He grabs the plush of your ass as he quickens his pace, hitting your sweet spot with each thrust.
“Goddamn,” he groans, nearly whimpering as you tug on his hair. “Your body was meant for me, baby. Takin’ me so well, like you were made for my cock.”
“I was m-made for you,” you echo, feeling your body tremble with delight. “Eddie, Eddie, oh, fuck, Eddie!” You lean your head back, exposing your throat and giving him the perfect angle to suck a bruise just above your collarbone.
Eddie chants your name, burying his head into the crook of your neck as he leaves more hickeys. “Can’t hold back much longer,” he confesses, trailing his tongue over the fresh set of love bites, but he keeps the same rhythm that’s driving you wild. “Wanna get my princess off before I do, though.”
“K-Keep going until you c-cum, please,” you beg him, “just like that.” You bring your middle finger down to your clit, rubbing deliberate circles until you feel your orgasm wash over you. “Yes, Eddie. I’m cumming, cumming for you…feel s’good.”
Bucking his hips harder and chasing his release, Eddie is a panting mess. “Shit–gonna cum, gonna cum in-inside you, fuck.” His hot seed coats your walls as he cries out your name one last time. He gently pulls out of you, leaving cum dripping down your leg while you struggle to regain your balance.
“Looks like we ruined it,” he offers, motioning to the lingerie. There’s tears along the crotch where he roughly moved the fabric, and the mixture of your releases is starting to leave a stain. He tears off the price tag and crumples it, tossing it to the floor. “Put your clothes on over it, hmm? It’ll be our little secret.” He pauses, giving you a mischievous smirk. “Unless you wanna tell Kyle tonight?”
You shake your head. “No. No Kyle. Only you.” Honestly, you’d forgotten all about your date until Eddie just reminded you. “Gonna cancel so we can do…that again.” And hopefully again and again and again.
Eddie throws his arm around you. “Oh, sweetheart,” he laughs, “now that I’ve got you, we’re not stopping until that little number is completely destroyed.”

It's 1987, the same year the movie Dirty Dancing was originally released. 21-year-old reader is spending the summer with her dad and aunt at an all-inclusive resort in Indiana while she figures out what she wants to do with her life. After that summer, nothing will never be the same. Eddie is in his late 20’s and works as maintenance staff, he is also the frontman for the house band, begrudgingly delivering top 40 hits for the guests, and a secret third thing. When work is over, there is a completely different scene happening at a place the employees call The Hideout. Wayne is the head maintenance man, Chrissy is a metalhead, and a few other surprises. Bonus: Steve as a sexy, tattooed musician because I can't help myself.
my blog is always 18+only, MDNI please. The only warnings for the first chapter have to do with mention of a death of a parent, mention of grief, allusions to depression, a tiny bit of aggression, and alcohol consumption. But please read chapter warnings as the story progresses, because there will be angst, hurt/comfort, violence (fighting), and smut. Reader is called Bird as a nickname.
A/N: this is a rewrite of an OC fic I wrote over a year ago, and damn, I really needed to change a lot because my writing has evolved so much. I know I posted a snippet last week, but it's all been changed. Thank you to those who have been excited about this, I know Dirty Dancing is a cherished film, so I am treating this retelling with reverence, while adding some creative spins, and I truly hope you enjoy. The ST characters in this fic do not know each other in the same way they did in the show. For instance, Eddie, Steve, and Chrissy all grew up together, but I do my best to stick with their original character traits. This first part lines up very close with the film, but after that, it diverges and becomes a bit different. Same story line, but also not.
Part 1: Big Girls Don't Cry
word count: 6.3k
The soft murmur of a talk radio station hummed in the cement gray Mercedes-Benz 560, with your dad behind the wheel and his sister, your aunt Kim, in the passenger seat.  From the backseat, you stared out the window with your headphones on, wishing for rain.  The scenery was what you would expect from a place on earth that everyone considered idyllic, but you’d been exposed to so much lush greenery with that bright blue, theater backdrop of a sky for the last hour that you were starting to get a headache.
You pushed your wayfarer sunglasses up to rub the bridge of  your nose, and then flipped the tape over in your Walkman before clicking it shut to press play.  You were listening to a mixtape you’d made especially for the trip, the spine even said “road trip from hell”, but the first one on side b was Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac, and you closed your eyes for the next several songs.  You were doing your best not to think about how you’d be trapped in BFE Indiana for a whole month.
You were also doing your best not to think about how your mother would not be home when you got back, or worse yet, the fact that you would never see her again.  Never feel her generous hugs in those Laura Ashley dresses, smelling of Shalimar; never hear her voice at the other end of the line reminding you to eat something.
Your aunt said your name and your eyes snapped open.  It was perfect timing because tears were beginning to form at your lash line. She had turned around in her seat and was trying to get your attention.
You pulled your headphones down around your neck.  “Sorry?”
“The lake,” the expression on her face harbored more excitement than you’d ever felt in your entire life.  “Isn’t it gorgeous? We’re going to get pedicures at the spa tomorrow, I already booked it.”
You glanced at your father’s stoic profile and then back to Kim. You felt bad for your aunt, getting stuck on a trip with two sad, mopey fucks who were too depressed to get excited about the things that thrilled normal people.  You were the walking wounded.
“Pedicures, great,” your smile did not reach your eyes, but she didn’t seem to notice, as her enthusiasm doggedly refused to wane.
It had been almost four months since you lost her, and the world was still too…bright.  Everyone was so talkative and alive and you couldn’t relate.
You looked out over the smooth expanse of lake that was nestled perfectly in the trees like you were in some type of miniature scale model rebuild of a town.  Your aunt asked your dad, Owen, if he was still listening to the news, and when he shook his head, she changed the radio station to a golden oldies station and was satisfied with the tune Big Girls Don’t Cry by Frankie Vallie.
“You’ll love this cabin, Bird,” your dad said to you as the Mercedes crested the hill and began to maneuver down to your destination on a narrow, two-lane highway flanked with towering trees.  A big green and white sign welcomed them to Hawkins Landing.  “There’s a whole top floor where you can set up for your lessons.”
You turned away, back to the window, hiding the way your nose wrinkled.  You thought maybe a perk of this getaway would be to have a break from practicing the cello you’d been tied to for over a decade, but no luck.  He’d been forced to give up his dream of being a musician, and now you were expected to carry the torch for him.
You tried to come up with one thing you did in life that was not to please someone else, or boost some idea they had about you, and couldn’t come up with squat.
Besides reading.  And taking long walks with music to clear your head.  Those two were yours, and they could only be taken from your cold, dead, hands.
From the Hawkins Landing brochure your aunt had given you, it was clear that the property was enormous.  Some 30 or 40 guest cabins scattered around, a main house that functioned as a hotel but also housed two different restaurants.  A golf course, boat rentals, tennis courts, an outdoor theater, and a third restaurant situated on the water.  Along with the full service spa, there were indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus any class you could imagine wanting to take, from salsa dancing and water skiing, to chess and crochet.
Hawkins Landing was like a camp for adults who enjoyed alcoholic beverages.
There was a security checkpoint at the main entrance with two guards inside.  The taller one with the neatly trimmed red beard recognized your father from the jacket cover on one of his many books.  Thrillers mostly, horror if you squint.  He nervously asked for an autograph, but Owen was very polite, adjusting his tortoise shell glass as he took the black marker that the guard was offering him.
After the checkpoint, it wasn’t long before the road opened into an expansive rose garden with a large fountain dead center, and the big main house with its wrap-around porch just to the right.  You pushed your sunglasses up to get a look at the people mingling around, getting the idea that the median age there was 45, and it was mostly families.
The guards had given your dad a foldout map of the property and told him to check in at the main house to get the keys to the cabin they were staying in. The car moved at a crawl at the roundabout, and then came to park where a sign announced new guest check-ins.
Your dad told you to sit tight while he went in to grab the keys, and your attention trailed off to a black golf cart with a white awning that wheeled in like a racecar and took position in front of the Mercedes.  It sat there close to the curb, idling.  You could see there was a woman behind the wheel, and she was looking straight ahead, giving you her profile.  Chin length, dark gold hair, just long enough for a ponytail, and the words “Hawkins Landing Staff” written in yellow cursive on the back of her navy blue jacket.  Where her sleeve was pushed up at her elbow, you noticed some type of tattooed lettering there, and her fingernails were painted black.
Up ahead, you caught sight of someone strolling down the sidewalk toward the car with a hand in his pocket. It was a guy with honey tipped chocolate hair styled in a pompadour with a curl that bounced at his forehead, wearing tan chinos and a maroon, button down short sleeve with the square bulge of a pack of smokes in his front pocket. A tattoo peeked out from the V of his shirt, and there was another design on his bicep. He wore a pinky ring on one hand and rolled a toothpick around in his mouth as he sidled up to the golf cart to say something to the woman driving it.  They bumped knuckles and talked for a bit like they were very familiar, him with one foot up on the running board of the cart.
“Steve, there you are,” from the open window, your attention bounced to a short, dark haired woman who’d just come out of the building and stood alongside your dad on the sidewalk.  A closer look told you that her name tag said Joyce.
The guy with the toothpick in his mouth straightened, smoothing the front of his shirt with his hand.  “Hey Joyce, I was just—”
Apparently uninterested in what he was about to say, she took him by the crook of the arm.  She introduced you all by your family name, and let him know that you were “her special guests”, and you assumed that had to do with your dad being a famous author, or maybe she said that about every new family.  While you chose to not do much else than offer a small wave from the back seat like you had no autonomy, Kim got out to greet them properly.
“This is Steve,” Joyce gestured to him with a Vanna White hand. “If you ever want to take guitar lessons this summer, he’s one of our best.”
“Or, if you just want to have some fun,” Steve’s eyes seemed to be searching Kim’s face, and then he shrugged. “I mean, I run the boats on the dock too, so if you want to ski or—”
Kim got flustered and tried to find her words, fussing with the lapel of her corduroy jacket in a way you’d never witnessed before. “I’m…I mean, sure, who wouldn’t want to be on the lake at a place like this?”
Kim hated boats and got seasick very easily, so you found her new interest amusing.
Joyce politely waved Steve off and he went, albeit reluctantly, backing up with slow steps to wave farewell.  The smile stretching across his face grew wider the longer Kim couldn’t take her eyes off of him. When he was finally jogging up the sidewalk to get to where he needed to be, Joyce continued to try and sell Kim and your dad on the resort, even though you were already booked for the month.
“Sunday night is Bingo night. There’s karaoke in The Antler Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you need to check out our house band if you can.  They’re playing tonight on the back patio, and the rhythm guitar is sensational.  She used to perform with Vixen and Lita Ford,” she handed over the necessary keys and pointed the way to get to the cabin on the map.
“Just follow us,” Joyce said, hopping into the golf cart next to the girl with the forearm tattoo.
They led the way down a long, winding stretch with lush lawn and manicured hedges on either side, littered with people coming up from the pool in their bathing suits.  There appeared to be a Tai Chi lesson happening on the lawn near the rose garden, and some type of painting class going on just above them on a balcony.
Made you wonder why summer people always had to stay so busy.
The cabin you’d be staying in was down a side road, tucked at the end of a private driveway with a view of the lake. It had five bedrooms, which was more than enough, but one of them would immediately turn into Owen’s writing room so that he could work on his latest novel.
You were careful to tuck your Walkman into your bag as the Mercedes coasted into its parking spot.  Squinting up at the place, you were somewhat distracted by how much you liked the creepy, old feel of the whitewashed cabin, and you underestimated how far from the curb you were when you stepped out, stumbling to the side.
The girl with the forearm tattoo caught you in both arms, preventing you from putting all of your weight on your twisted ankle.
“Whoa,” she moved her supportive grip from your waist to your elbow as you righted yourself.  “You okay?”
Your heart shot into your throat, and then you coughed a laugh, covering your face. “What a way to start the summer.”
She said her name was Robin, and there was a polite handshake exchange. She tripped over her words a bit.  “It’s not every day that someone falls for me.”
“Well, I’m pretty clumsy, you might need to stay close,” and the two of you shared a self-conscious laugh as you led the way to the trunk full of baggage.
When you reached in to grab your suitcase, Robin teased, “hey, that’s my job,” before leaning further in to take the oddly shaped black hard case, the satin of her jacket skimming your arm. She struggled with it at first, but then held it up by the handle and gave you a sideways look.
“This yours?” She asked, cocking one eyebrow up. “You’re a musician?”
“No, well, yes I am but no I, I play the cello,” you stammered, not sure why it was hard to get the words out. “But here, I can carry that. It’s big and heavy and—”
Robin winked.  “I got it,” and then she snatched another suitcase with the other hand and shuffled by you to make her way up to the porch.
Once you were all settled inside and Joyce had explained all of the amenities, you and Kim pushed back the curtains and watched the two go from the living room window. Just before they took off in the cart, Robin sent you a wave.
“She looks like a nice girl,” Kim had her arms folded over her chest. “Maybe the two of you could—”
“I know you’re worried about me, okay, but I don’t need to make any friends this summer,” you were holding the case for your cello in front of you with both hands, using it as a metaphorical barrier. “I like being alone.”
By the time you put your stuff away in the bedroom you’d be staying in, your dad was already typing away in his writing room, you could hear the keys of his Selectric click-clacking.
“I’ll be back in a bit,” you called across the rustic but spacious cabin living room.  “I’m going to look around the main house.”
Kim barely caught your words as she was struggling with her glasses to read an ingredient label as she put some dry goods away in the kitchen.  “Mhmm sounds good, have fun. Be back in time for dinner, we have reservations at…whatever that place is called. Your dad knows.”
You tapped the Swatch on your wrist and gave an absent wave over your shoulder.
With your headphones on, you made your way down to the main sidewalk that split off in two directions, bordering either side of the swimming pool and tennis courts.  You found the bike path that wound down along the lake to the boat dock, and then up into a lush pocket of dense forest.  Two teenage girls on rollerblades almost crashed into you as they bolted around the bend, giggling.  Trying to decide if you wanted to go toward the water or into the woods, you watched a staff member veer off onto an uneven stone pathway and your curiosity was piqued.
Creeping along in their wake, you marched up a hill for what felt like forever, with Bring on the Dancing Horses by Echo and the Bunnymen playing in your ears, until you realized with a start that you’d already arrived at the main building.  It loomed up ahead like a mansion from some old gothic romance novel.
You continued to plod your way along the trunks of trees, until you spotted a group having a chat on the wide porch, and took a few steps back.
They were all leaning against the railing in a semicircle, facing each other,  so that you could see the Hawkins Landing Staff on the back of a few of their navy jackets.
One of them was Steve from earlier, next to him was a girl with a blonde ponytail, and then two others.
“I met that author guy today,” Steve took a drag and then blew the smoke up in the air, away from everyone’s face.  “The one who wrote Darkness on the Hill, that one they made into a movie.”
You realized that it was your dad he was talking about.
Not looking where you were stepping, you caught your toe on a tree root and your arms windmilled before you were able to find your balance, floundering to duck behind another tree.  Your mouth opened in a silent scream, trying not to gasp at the pain in your foot.  Grimacing, you turned the volume down on the headphones that were around your neck to better hear what they were saying.
“That actor from that one show about law and order is staying in cabin 8,” the girl with the ponytail said.  “Housekeeping says he finishes a bottle of whiskey a night.”
But then, there was another voice. “Now that sounds like a great fucking vacation to me,” followed by the heavy footfalls of boots on wood as a new person approached the group.
The sight of the new arrival made you feel like your brain was wiped clean—-the whole world came to a screeching halt.
Swallowing hard, all of your attention tunneled on him; his long dark hair with bangs that crowded his eyes, a thin but muscular build, tattoos scattered over his exposed arms, and a leather jacket hooked over his shoulder with one finger. He combed a hand through his hair as he walked, chunky metal rings catching the light, and headed over to the blonde girl.  You took note of every movement as she passed him her half-smoked cig and he gave her a quick kiss on the temple.
Was that his girlfriend?
He stepped back to introduce the younger guy he had with him.  “This Jamie, my new maintenance trainee,” he used the hand holding his smoke to point to each one on the balcony individually.  You really didn’t pay attention until he got to the blonde one.  “...that one there is the lovely Chrissy, and the moody one with the hairy chest is Steve.  They’re the other musicians I told you about.”
Jamie had short black, curly hair and a hoop piercing in one ear.  He lit his own smoke while the metalhead started in with a story about a pump exploding at the pool house, complete with wild hand gestures.
“Hey, there the fuck you are.  I’ve been looking everywhere for you losers.”
Another voice, another person making their way down the long stretch of squeaky wood planks from the front of the building.  You stepped closer, snapping a twig under your foot, eliciting a worried lip bite.
Everyone stayed right where they were, but for Eddie who moved in front of Jamie in a protective way.  The guy approaching at a stroll had very nondescript good looks with his wheat blonde hair in a tight cut that looked freshly trimmed.  While the others were dressed more casually, this one wore a white dress shirt and tie with black trousers, as if he had some fancy place to be.
“You talking to me?” The metalhead flicked his cigarette ash and stepped forward to meet the new guy before he could come any closer to the group. “Cause, if so, you might want to change your tone, precious.”
“Eddie, don’t,” Chrissy said, and then she stood up, addressing the guy in the suit.  “Jason, what the fuck do you want?”
Eddie, you moved your lips, whispering the name to yourself.  His name was Eddie.
Jason put his hands up in mock surrender.  “Why so hostile?” He turned to Eddie. “Joyce has been trying to find you for an hour.  There’s a toilet backed up in one of the cabins, and trash that needs to go to the dump. Sounds to me like you’re having a hard time doing your job, Munson.”
You scuttled like a crab, moving to a spot where you could see their faces instead of the backs of their heads.
So that you could see Eddie’s face.
Steve checked his watch and pushed off of the railing to snub his cig out on the bottom of his shoe.  “I gotta run.  See you bastards at the show tonight,” he said in passing, shoving both hands into his trouser pockets.  He walked right into Jason, shoulder checking him, before casually going on his way.  Jason shot him an evil look.
“Well,” Eddie took a deep breath. “Tell Joyce I got the message,” and then he motioned for Jamie to follow him.
“Too bad we can’t take you out with the rest of the trash, freak,” Jason mumbled, loud enough for you to hear every word, and a tension crackled in the air.
The metalhead stopped dead in his tracks and drew his shoulders back.
When he finally turned on his heel, he wore a satisfied smirk, inclining his head, as if he’d been waiting for Jason to say something all along.
Chrissy moved as if she were about to go over and break up whatever was about to happen, but one of the others put a handout and stopped her.
“Just keep sending your laundry home to mommy, baby boy, and leave the real work to me,” Eddie said, and then he flicked the butt of his cigarette at Jason’s face.
Jason moved his head just in time so that the hot cherry missed his cheek by a hair and bounced off the wall behind him, spraying sparks.  Chrissy and the others snickered at how beet red Jason’s face got, but he didn’t say another word, he just waited for Eddie and Jamie to be far enough away before he went back around to the front entrance.
When the coast was clear, you stood and made your way to the path again.  With a curse you realized you were going to be late for that dinner reservation, and picked up speed to a slow, sad jog.
You found yourself thinking that maybe being trapped at Hawkins Landing for the summer wouldn’t be so bad after all.
—----
Your aunt Kim gave you an exasperated look when you all finally sat down for dinner, being that you’d made everyone 20 minutes late for the reservation.  There didn’t appear to be a single open table when you arrived, but Joyce had made sure to keep the one by the window facing the gardens open for your party.  She came around to introduce the guy who was to be your waiter, and you sat up a little straighter in your seat when you realized it was Jason from earlier.  The way he’d been dressed out on the porch made sense now, as his uniform was the same as all of the other waitstaff.
Near the end of the meal, Joyce returned to the table in her black pencil skirt and fitted jacket, but this time, she was with a guy who you could tell wanted to look like Don Johnson in Miami Vice, but it came off more as Gary from Weird Science.
“I'd like you to meet Troy, he’s the son of Mr. Brenner, the owner of the resort,” there was a reluctance about her, as if she’d been forced at gunpoint to introduce him.
Troy stared at you with an uncomfortable intensity, making your attention fall to your plate.
“I’m in charge when my father isn’t around,” Troy said with a smug grin, putting his hands in his white trouser pockets, and you spotted some type of metal retainer on his teeth.
Joyce cleared her throat, annoyed that his statement was far from true.  But she recognized that it was part of her job to indulge the little shit.
“I just graduated with a business degree from Georgetown,” he gloated, giving you a wink.  “This place will all be mine one day.”
Your father exchanged a look with your aunt over his chocolate mousse.
“Well, it’s nice to know someone else your age here, isn’t it, Bird? Maybe you two kids should go have some fun tonight,” Kim chirped.
If your aunt wasn’t so far away, you would’ve kicked her under the table.
Troy bent at the waist so that his face wasn’t far from yours.  “I’d love to show you around after dinner, if you’re interested in a tour?”
Before you could issue a vague excuse like, “sorry I can’t, I have a headache,” Kim spoke for you again.
“I think that’s a great idea,” she even clapped her hands, applauding it.
In the end, you went with him to make Kim happy, to get her off your back, hopefully for the rest of the trip.
An hour or two with a pretentious prick wouldn’t hurt you.
—-------
Troy wasn’t bad company, but he was quite full of himself.  He had interesting stories about his extensive travels, but then he also told awkward stories that were possibly fibs about how many models he’d dated, and expanded on how he wanted to be married with two kids by the time he was 30.
You, on the other hand, couldn’t imagine thinking that far ahead, and he wouldn’t let you get a word in edgewise.
You followed close behind through the huge, busy kitchen of the restaurant you’d just dined in, and he tried to hold your hand when he introduced you to the head chef, but you were sly, and pulled it away to cross your arms over your chest.  He gave you a tour of the ballroom and took a stroll through the other restaurant on the opposite end of the building that had a much more relaxed feel, low lighting, red carpet, and a bar at the center.
You went down to the boat docks and walked along the pier. The stars were breathtaking, but Troy didn’t notice, he was too busy trying to convince you to go out on his boat with him.  You declined, taking a page from Kim’s book to mention a freshly born curse of violent seasickness.
You had your elbows on the railing at the pier, enjoying the velvet reflection of the crescent moon in the lake, and you could feel your jaw grow tense under the weight of Troy’s stare.
On the verge of telling him you were ready to head back to your cabin, the sound of music drifted down from somewhere on the property.
Yes, no mistaking, it was Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money, but it was being executed with someone else’s voice, and whoever that person was had some serious pipes.
And then there was the distinct sound of a feminine voice chiming in with the parts from the song Be My Baby Now by the Ronettes in the chorus.
"Is that a live band?" You turned away from him to try and find the source of the music.  It wasn’t coming from the restaurant on the water or any of the cabins to your right.
"There's a cover band every Friday out behind the main house. You want to check it out?" He held the crook of his arm out to you and hesitated before you took it.  His ego sufficiently stroked now that you wanted to spend more time with him.
Around the side of the building, overlooking the golf course, was a huge, fenced in back patio garden area with a private hot tub and pool for hotel guests.  Troy led you through a white arbor wound with ivy to find that there were plenty of people mingling, drinking, and dancing.  The area was mostly manicured lawn, with stone pathways meandering around from a concrete floor that was right in front of the small riser that was meant to be a stage. You imagined that a million weddings had taken place there.
At the door was a bar, and Troy got you a flute of champagne, which you downed with abandon and asked for another.  While he was getting your second glass, you made your way along under several boughs of white string lights to get a view of the stage and who was performing the top tier Eddie Money cover.
Just as you stepped into the crowd of people shuffling to the beat, you stopped dead in your tracks.
There he was at the mic: Eddie the metalhead.
Guitar slug low at his hips, wearing a tuxedo with light blue cummerbund and bow tie, his hair neatly combed back and fixed into a knot at the back of his head so that you could really see the curves of his face. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was performing the song against his will.
The rest of the band were dressed similarly, and you instantly knew the one strumming the bass guitar as Steve, and the woman on backup vocals rocking on the rhythm was Chrissy, who wore a conservative skirt and flats. There was also a keyboardist and a drummer, both of whom you did not recognize.
“What’s your major?” Troy asked, breaking your reverie to pass you the glass of champagne. “In college?”
You were confused for a second but then, “oh, I took the year off to…figure some things out.” The full truth of it was that you had dropped out completely and had no intention of going back.
“I spent a summer in Greece my freshman year,” he offered, unprovoked. “The women there are, wow, so smoking hot.”
The song finished and Eddie took his tuxedo jacket off, rolling up his shirt sleeves to his elbows, exposing the scattered tattoos you’d noticed earlier.  He leaned over to whisper something to Chrissy, motioned at the drummer, and then stepped back into place, brushing a loose wisp of hair off his cheek.
“Find someone special for this next one,” he told the crowd, and was answered with a rush of murmurs.
The first notes to In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel, a slow song, lit up the space, and your stomach tightened, fearing that Troy would ask you to dance. As he escorted you to the floor, you tried to keep your head down and stay to the back of the crowd, but Troy kept maneuvering you closer to the stage.
I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are
You watched the performance from over Troy’s shoulder and followed his lead, shifting from foot to foot.  You were mesmerized by the muscles in Eddie’s hands as he played each note, and the way Chrissy came in like an angel on the chorus.
He’d captured the attention of everyone in the garden at that moment, and there was a group of women watching him from the sidelines, whispering to each other, possibly about how they wanted to eat him alive.
They were all thinking the same thing you were: Eddie was magic.
He liked to close his eyes when he sang, so you weren’t expecting him to be staring right at you when he opened them again.
All my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
He wouldn’t break eye contact, so you eventually had to; the intensity of it was giving you butterflies.
Troy stepped back and tried to get your attention.  “Did you hear anything I just said?”
You nodded, but your gaze only drifted back to Eddie.  Troy followed your line of sight and then dropped both of his hands with a frustrated cluck of his tongue.
"What the hell is he doing up there?" He hissed to himself when it dawned on him that Eddie had been behind the mic that whole time. "That's our goddamn maintenance guy. He shouldn't be up there."
In a huff, Troy pushed through the crowd and headed over to one of the other staff members against the fence. Bird could see him shouting and pointing over at the stage. Whatever the staff guy said did not seem to cheer him up a bit, and he came back to your side, shrugging his shoulders.
"I guess our normal front man Drew has the flu," he reported back. "It's just so hard to find reliable help these days."
Eddie was making the song his own, and that was what you liked about it.
“Let’s get out of here,” Troy put his hand on your lower back to escort you out. “The music sucks.”
—--
It was 9:30 when you made it back to the main foyer, standing in the middle of the lobby next to an obnoxious floral arrangement, when Troy tried to get you to go back to his cabin and watch a movie, only to get respectfully declined.
“Don’t worry about your parents,” Troy said, brushing his finger over your chin. “They know you’re with me, so they’re probably the happiest parents at Hawkins Landing.”
The guy had quite an ego on him, you had to give him that. It was unsurpassed by most.
In the end, you got away, and as soon as your Mary Jane’s hit the cobblestones outside the front door, you could feel yourself trotting at a quicker pace, eager to put some distance between you and Troy and everyone else, for that matter.  You didn’t stop until you were far enough away from the main hotel to be able to check over your shoulder and not see it through the trees.
It was then that you realized that you had a free chunk of time, and you could do with it whatever you wished.  Your dad would think you were still with Troy, and as long as you made it back to the cabin before midnight, they wouldn’t worry.
As much as it was the dead of summer, Indiana by the water had very cool nights, and you buttoned up the jean jacket you were wearing just as you noticed a yellow sign on a lamppost to the right that said: Staff Quarters, No Guests Allowed Beyond This Point
And that made you want to venture in even more.
You checked around to make sure there was no one there to notice that you blatantly ignored the sign, and just kept going.  The path at your feet changed from stone to a well-worn dirt path through the grass, and it wasn’t long before you could hear the sound of music erupting in the distance.
You passed by staff quarters, a few weathered red cabins with white trim, lined close together, and there were some people hanging out on their porches who gave you curious looks, but didn’t seem too concerned with your presence.
Following the source of the music, you descended down into unknown, poorly lit territory that no longer looked like it was part of the Hawkins Landing property.
(song playing in the distance is Dangerous Meeting by Mercyful Fate)
It was then that you noticed a pale yellow light coming from the windows of a building up ahead.  Just as the dirt path turned to gravel, you identified the music you were hearing as heavy metal, and it was bolstered by distinct shouts and cheers, even a high-pitched scream or two.
“Hey,” a voice startled you from out of the dark and you jumped. “What are you going out here?”
Heart racing, you spun around to find out it was Robin.
She was struggling to carry several things in her arms as she walked and you rushed over to her.
“Where did you come from?” You asked, grinning ear to ear at how glad you were to see someone familiar.
“My cabin is right over there,” she bucked her chin in a direction behind you.
She had a crossbody bag over her shoulder, an amp in one hand, and she was juggling two guitar cases, one of which she fumbled, and you managed to catch it before it hit the ground.  You wrapped your arms around the hard case with the Scorpions sticker on it, silently offering to carry it the rest of the way.
“You don’t have to—” Robin started, adjusting the bag over her shoulder.
“I want to,” you looked back up at the house where the music was coming from, assuming that was where she was headed.  “I carry that big cello around all the time, remember? I’m used to it.”
Robin moved her jaw from side to side and she looked conflicted.  “You’re not supposed to be here.”
Your eyes were still locked on the house hidden in the trees.  “What is that place?”
“Listen,” she gave you an imploring look. “I will get in so much trouble if they find out you came out here. Your dad won’t want you here, trust me.”
Her warning did nothing to squelch your curiosity. “I’m a big girl, I go wherever I want. Plus, I won’t tell anyone.”
“Besides, she gave you a knowing look, raising her eyebrow. “If your boyfriend Troy finds out you were here, Brenner will fire all of us.”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” you snapped.  But then, softer, you added, “I barely just met him tonight.”
Robin wasn’t in the mood to try and rip the guitar out of your hands, and so, with a heavy sigh, she caved.
“Fine,” she sighed. “But stay close to me, okay? You’re not at the resort anymore, sweetheart.”
You nodded, waiting for her to lead the way.
She took a step forward and then stopped and turned on her heel to point at the instrument in your arms.
“Be extra careful with that, it’s Eddie’s baby. He’ll grow horns if anything happens to it.”

Hi! If you are familiar with the movie Dirty Dancing, you have an idea about what scene is coming up next. I've really enjoyed lining up certain events with the movie, but things will obviously be different in this because I want it to have some surprises in store for you.
Every chapter from here on out will start with a list of the songs, ones that will give hints for what to expect. I wanted to make music a big part of this fic, because it was a huge deal in the movie, and the original soundtrack is still dear to me.
as always, thank you so much for reading and interacting with this story! Comments and reblogs are deeply appreciated. or send me an ask and let me know what you think ❤️

Part 1
Part 3
Part 5
Part four of roommates idea
The officer clicked his pen again, signaling he took to long to answer. Steve faced him again, “Sorry I- Shit. Eddie he wasn't- he wouldn't do this shit. He's afraid of fucking dogs. Not even the real big ones either, he definitely wouldn't kill someone. He cries when he watches Bambi and gore freaks him out.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes! I'm absolutely-fucking-positive! He looks all tough and shit but he's not, he's just scared. Fuck that sounds- so bad but- God why don't you believe me and Wayne?”
The officer sighs, ”Eddie sold drugs, did drugs, it's entirely possible he had to many and did something…Not entirely in his regular character.”
Steve bit his lip, “He wouldn’t.”
-
Steve sat in the family video, he's been distant since the shift started and Robin couldn’t understand why.
That was, until the TV showed the news of a Hawkins student dying. Did he somehow know?
Not much later, Max and Dustin came in yelling about phones, and were quick to start using them.
Steve didn’t even seem shocked when they talked about Eddie being accused. When they finally got a lead about a ‘Reefer Rick’, his eyes lit up.
“I know where he is.”
-
“Hello?”
Steve looked around the boathouse, “What a dump.”
His eyes landed on tarp covering a boat, “Eddie?"
“Eddie, are you here?"
Now, Steve wasn't an expert, but that tarp looked a lot like it just moved, and if it wasn’t Eddie then-
He grabbed an oar that was leaning against the wall, and began poking it.
“What are you doing?”
“It moved.”
“So take the tarp off!”
Steve gave Dustin an incredulous look.
“If you're so brave, why don’t you take the tarp off!”
It was silent for a moment, then-
“…Steve?”
The man in question let out a relieved sigh, and smiled. “Eds!”
Steve drops the oar, a resounding clatter banging off the walls as he flings the tarp off the boat.
And there he is, Eddie Munson in all his glory, sitting in a fetal position and clutching a broken bottle to his chest like a lifeline.
As soon as he seemed to see Steve, he quickly threw the bottle to the side and stands up to step out the boat.
“Steve, thank fuck.”
Eddie engulfs him in a hug, pressing his face into his neck.
Steve bites his lip, “Hey, hey its okay.”
Steve slid them down carefully, positioning his back against a column. It was a bit awkward, with them being similar height, but he made it work.
“She- I didn’t kill her! I don’t, she started fucking floating. Then her limbs snapped, god Stevie, please you gotta believe me.”
He looked over to the party, Robin’s eyebrows were pinched, Max was darting her eyes between the two, and Dustin looked like he was about to say something.
Finally, he gathered the courage. “ Eddie, we believe you. What you saw, it’s been happening for years. Well, not this particularly but the supernatural.”
Eddie peeked his head out, “ What do you mean?”
Dustin crouches down awkwardly, hands together. “Theres another world. Its kind of like this one, but its terrifying. There are things there. Its called the upside down. We’ve been fighting it since 1983 when Will went missing.“
Steve feels him tense. “ ‘We?’ ‘Fighting?’, How do you fight an invisible force?”
“Demogorgons, demodogs, government people, russians. We’ve had to face them for years. Steve and I were there in 1983, Max in 1984, and Robin just joined in last year with the Russians and the mall.”
Eddie’s eyes widened, and he turned his head slightly to face Steve. “ Is that why you were so beat up last year?”
Steve shrugged, “ Yeah. Pretty much.”
Eddie burrowed his head into his neck again. “ Jesus H. Christ.”
“Look, we’re here to help you Eds, that murder in the trailer? They were asking me questions, they think its you. Wouldn’t let up on the idea no matter how much I insisted it wasn’t.”
Eddie looked at Steve with a mix of fear and gratitude, “What do we do? Can’t exactly waltz up and tell them it’s supernatural.”
Steve hummed, “We need to figure out what happened to that Chrissy, and clear your name.”
Max stepped forward, “We’ll help you, Eddie. We’ve faced worse than this.”
Eddie nodded, “Okay. Shit, we’re really doing this..”
Robin glanced around, “Not to interrupt or anything, but maybe we should do the whole story? Like, you guys didn’t even mention the super power girl, and shes like major isn’t she?”
The long haired metalhead nodded, giving Steve a squeeze before letting go and standing.
He turned to face Robin a grimace on his face, “ Right, yeah, full story. Super power girl, sure.”
Steve patted his shoulder, when did he even get up, and after a second, bumped him with his hip.
“Buckle up, Eds. This is gonna take a while.”

My girls perfect
Eddie munson x reader
Summary: you and Eddie are dating have been for a while. Your a cheerleader he's well... Eddie. So when thr jocks make a comment to try make you feel insecure to piss eddie off, Eddie doesn't let it slide easy.
During the school week you and Eddie sit together ever day but Friday. Whether it's just you two or with hellfire. However Friday was normally basketball day so you was needed being a cheerleader. Friday was also hellfire day which meant Eddie was obviously needed.
He would sit with hellfire. You'd sit with the jocks. It was like you didn't exist to eachother on Friday between 11 am to 8 pm. Neither of you minded ofcourse. You had your own things and lucky they fell on the same day. It had been that way for 2 years.
However something was different about this Friday. Eddie was sat at the hellfire table laughing and messing around. Well and annoying the jocks. But after his usual stand on thr table thing on Friday he always looms to you to se you smirk and give him a sarcastic eye roll. But you looked out of it. Like you didn't want to be there.
You starred at your tray didn't turn to look at Eddie. It's like you wasn't there. Eddie sat back down in his chair frowning and kept glancing over at you. Until you pushed your tray away from you got your bag and walked out of the cafeteria some of the boys saying "oh y/n Common."
Eddie glanced at his friend's who was also starring at the table you was once sat at as was other people in the canteen shocked by you leaving. "Be back." Eddie said standing up walking off. He walked to the table you was sat at and stood at the end of it.
"What do you want freak?" Andy said. Eddie rolled his eyes looking at Andy and Tommy sat next to Jason then to Jason.
"What the fuck did you say to her." Eddie said bluntly starring at the three boys blankly.
"Just said she should be more like Chrissy and carol and focus in her appearance more." Tommy said smirking leaning back in his chair folding his arms over his chest. Eddie nodded and walked back over to hellfire.
"Dude tour just gonna let him say that your way to calm." Gareth said looming at Eddie in disbelief.
"Doug can I borrow your milkshake ill buy you another on Monday or before hellfire." He ignored Gareth asking doug. He nodded and handed it to Eddie who bit thr inside of his mouth thanking him before walking off. He walked around thr table of jocks and cheerleaders as if he was going to walk out of the door.
As Eddie got to the head of the table he threw the milkshake so it went over the three boys not stopping walking. "Maybe you should worry about yours I suppose you've gotta have a big ego to make up for thr rumours about your small cock." Eddie said ruffling Tommy's hair as he walked past him wiping his milkshake covered hand on Jason's back.
"Fucking freak." Tommy said standing up. Eddie took that as he had to run. So he did. He ran down the halls with the three boys following him. He went left and as he went down the hall he saw you walking. He slowed down as he approached you.
"Hey baby." Eddie said as he stopped next to you. You smiled up at him. "Here lemme take those." HE said taking the two books you was holding and your bag. He put thr books inside and slung it over his shoulder holding you into his side. "Don't listen to em ok? There is nothing and I mean nothing wrong with you. Babe some of them girls look like they haven't eaten for days cause they listen to them dicks. Your healthy. You got a beautiful face, amazing personality and a banging body." Eddie said holding you closer.
"Banging... Jesus Eddie." You laugh slightly.
"I'm serious want me to prove your perfect the way you are and there's nothing wrong with your weight or body?" Eddie askes stopping you both. You nod skeptically. Eddie wraps his arms around your waist picks you up and spins with you.
He puts you down after a moment and your both laughing. That's what he wanted to see. He wrapped his arms around you hugging you and you did the same. "See I can even touch my other arm don't listen to em." Eddie smirking kissing your cheek.
"I love you so much you fucking weirdo." You giggled kissing Eddie.
"I love you so much to you fucking freak." Eddie smirked back.
"Love how you went from saying how perfect I am to calling me a freak babe." You laughed pushing Eddie shoulder.
"Please we've been over this there is nothing wrong with being a lil freaky sweets." HE sid pulling you back into him.
Before you could answer you heard Tommy, and and jason at the end of the hall shouting Eddie name.
"What are they covered in?" You ask.
"Milkshake." Eddie smirks.
"What why?"
"CAUSE no one fucks with my girl and gets away with it... yeah we may need to run." Eddie says grabbing your hand and running down the hall with you.
Moments later you reach the van which luckily Eddie never locks he swings the passenger door open for you then runs around to the drivers side getting. You get in yourself and slam the door pushing the lock down Eddie doing the same the starting the van up and driving out of thr school faster then anyone should.
You look in thr mirror to see the three boys stood looking pissed. Then over to Eddie who's lighting a cigarette. "I'm not going to cheer tonight they'll be fine without me." You say leaning back in the chair.
"Yeah? Come watch hellfire could be fun babe." Eddie says exhaling the smoke. You nod smiling at him.
"Besides the boys think it's funny when your there cause apparently you make me go all stupid n they think it's funny when you tell me to stop being mean to them." Eddie smirks. You laugh and kiss his neck.
"I love you so much." You say kissing the spot again.
"I love you so much too... you know you could always leave a little mark there I mean I for sure wouldn't mind it. Just saying." Eddie said pretending to be serious. As he drives you leave him two hickeys inna heart shape and he smiles.
-
At hellfire that evening the boys notice it and every time Eddie runs a hand over his neck or through his hair the boys have plenty of comments.
"Woah who's the real master ed?"
"Maybe Eddie's curls arent real after all."
Then they notice you have one to you didn't know about.
"I do not have one!" You protest to the boys at the table.
"Yes you do I fucking put it there." Eddie chims in. You shake your head and Eddie kisses under your ear. "Relax there just jealous cause your more perfect then them so you get one." Eddie says kissing you sweetly. You smile and Eddie turns to go back to his campaign but doug then has a memory.
"You still owe me a milkshake!" HE points at Eddie and you laugh taking Eddie's hand in yours.
"What seeing Jason, Andy and Tommy look like they were covered in shit wasn't good enough for you?" Eddie says leaning back in his chair.
"Was for me made me feel better." You laugh
"Look Eddie you may have been getting your revenge for your fantastic girlfriend-"
"Which was totally a lie what they said by the way babe they inly said it cause you date the person they hate most and are hottest on the team." Eddie cuts off doug looking at you earning a smile a squeeze of Eddie's hand.
"Yeah big lie. But. I TAKE MY LUNCH VERH SERIOUSLY!" Doug shouts pointing at Eddie making the others laugh.
"Fuck off doug ill get it to ya Monday." Eddie says kissing you.
-
After the campaign your helping Eddie tidy up when he speaks. "If he ever makes you feel like shit again tell me. Either me or one of thr others will tone em down. N it would only be the others cause I'm running to your rescue." HE says stretching.
"Really bothered you huh babe?" You say walking over to him.
"Well yeah, I get them being mean to me bit they don't need to drag you into it nd try make you feel insecure. Your gorgeous and they just jealous." Eddie says putting his arms around you.
"Thank you." You says nuzzling into his neck.
"Don't thank me for looking after you against them dicks I'll do it everyday I love you."
"Mm yeh. I also meant for letting me wear your hellfire top when I got cold in the campaign n you sitting there with no top on under your jackets but ok." You giggle kissing him.
"Did I look hot." HE laughs.
"SO hot honestly babe would've jumped your bones right then if you wasn't in the middle of a campaign." You say kissing him.
"Guess I'll have to keep thr jackets on when we get back to the trailer." HE wiggles his eyebrows.
"Your so weird."
"You love me."
"Mmm I do.... let go of my ass."
"Never." HE laughs squeezing it before letting go.
"I knew that conversation was a bit to serious." You say picking up his notebook.
He nods kissing you sweetly.
No matter what anyone said you knew deep down there was nothing wrong with you and of it took you a moment to remember you'd always have Eddie to remind you. As he held you and kissed you you both pulled away resting your foreheads together.
"You still owe doug his milkshake."
"OH fuck off." Eddie laughs kissing you again.

Hurt
C.S x fem reader
Warnings: bl00d, fluuuuuuff!
Summary: Chris gets hurt and you help him.
unedited btw
Y/N’s POV
It was around 7:00 PM and Nick and I were cooking dinner, waiting for his brothers to come back from playing basketball with their friends.
“Wait…how much salt?” Nick said, hand holding the salt shaker over the pan.
“Nononononono!” I said, panicked, while scurried over to him and took the salt out of his hand. I replaced the salt with pepper and he let out a soft “ohhhhhh”.
Not long after, Chris and Matt arrived home, sweaty but smiling. I was putting dinner on the table, when Chris walked by e and gave me a kiss.
“That smells great mama” he whispered in my ear.
“Don’t be doing all that lovey-dovey shit over my dinner!” Matt yelled, getting a root beer from the fridge. Nick proceeded to smack him on the back of the head.
I gigged and gave Chris a big hug around his torso, leaning on him. I heard him suck in a sharp breath. I looked up saw him wincing.
“You okay baby?” I asked, quickly letting go of him.
“Yeah yeah, I’m fine.” He said, giving me one last kiss before heading to the fridge to get a drink.
Only then did I notice his limp.
-
We sat down to eat dinner, talking surprisingly calm. That was the case until Nick when on a 10 minuet tangent about birds…again. Chris stayed rather quiet though. I assumed he was hurt from basketball, but didn’t want to talk about it in front of us brothers. But that was fine.
I’ll just ask him after dinner I thought to myself, finishing up my food and starting the dishes.
-
Once I’ve finished the dishes, I say good night to Nick and Matt who are lounging on the couch, watching a movie, and then make my way down the stairs to Chris’s room. After dinner he disappeared, I assumed to go to his room.
I open the door to see him sitting on the edge of his bed, hair wet. He just got out of the shower, I thought.
His shoulders were slouched and he was staring off at something on the carpet. I closed the door behind me and walked over to him.
“Baby, what’s the matter?” I said, going to stand between his legs. I put my hands at the nape of his neck, playing with his hair.
He didn’t respond. He only rested his forehead on my stomach and let out a shaky breath.
“Chris? You need to tell me what’s wrong bubs.” I told him. He lifted his head and looked at me, a pain filled expression on his face.
“Hurts.” Chris mumbled, slightly pouting.
“What hurts baby?” I said standing back looking him up and down to try and find any sign of what was the matter. He slowly lifts up his sweatpants
He winced as the fabric went over his knee, to show a big gash, surrounded by black, purple, and yellow bruises. It was also super swollen.
“Chris! What happened!” I asked, making my way to his bathroom for the first aid kit.
“Fell.” He said, shrugging. I can tell he’s in pain, even though he’s trying to be tough. I walk back to him holding some alcohol, cotton balls, and a big bandaid.
“Alright lemme see.” I said, kneeling in front of him with an alcohol slacked cotton ball ready. Chris extended his knee slightly and I started to dab at it with the cotton ball.
He sucked in a sharp breath and clenched his teeth, but I tried to work quickly.
I put away my materials and helped him lay down on his stomach because that’s the only way he can fall asleep. I carefully climbed behind him so he was in between my legs, his head resting only thought like a pillow. I gently played with his hair and rubbed his back.
“I love you Chrissy.” I whispered, thinking he was already asleep. But to my surprise, he mumbled back a soft,
“I love you more Y/N” and then he was fast asleep.

~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
“Hello?” A familiar voice spoke.
“Hey Wayne, is Eddie there?” you asked.
“Uh yeah he is, let me just get him for you Sweetheart.” You heard a muffled shout, “Eddie.” Wayne clearly covering the phone with his hand to save your ear.
“Hey gorgeous,” he spoke, you could hear his grin. “Hiya Eds. I’m really sorry to ask, but could you do me a huge favour?”
“Sure baby, what’s up?”
“Me and Maeve have accidentally double booked something. She’s going on a date with Annie that I refuse to let her cancel,” he hummed understanding why.
“But I can’t get out of my shift. Would you be okay to watch Margot?” Eddie went quiet on the other end. “You know what I know it’s a big ask, I’ll figure it all out-” he cut you off.
“You trust me to do that?” You laughed at that.
“Of course I do. And she loves you so much, so do I. So could you?”
“Sure I’ll be there as soon as possible.”
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
There was a knock on the door. “Eddie Eddie Eddie!” Margot squealed running towards it.
Chuckling, you picked up the girl, sliding the latch and pulling the door open. There he was. “Eddie!” Margot leaned forward holding out her arms to him.
“Hey Sweetheart,” he smiled, taking her from you and hugging her close. “And hello you,” he said before pecking your lips. “I can’t say thank you enough for this.”
“It’s no big deal, we’re gonna have fun right?” he asked Margot, who nuzzled into his neck and smiled.
“Well she’s had dinner, and her jammies are on the couch for her. You know where her nappies and everything are right?” you asked, to which he nodded. “Great, her bedtime is 7:30. If she doesn’t settle, warm milk and Cinderella. Her bottles are in the cupboard by the glasses. And if you need me just call-”
“Baby breath. We’ve got this. Don’t worry we will be perfectly fine. We’re gonna get into our jammies and play for a while and then, get tucked into bed. Go to work,” he pecked your lips.
“Okay okay. Margot baby, you be good for Eddie, I’ll see you in the morning,” you took her back from Eddie, cuddling her. It was the first time you’d left her with someone who wasn’t Maeve and you had to be honest you were nervous. But it was Eddie. Your Eddie. The Eddie who loved you and Margot.
“Mm’kay Mama,” she smiled, giving you a slobbery kiss to the cheek. “Okay I’ve got to run,” you gave Margot and Eddie final kisses and were on your way. “Bye Mama,” Margot waved. “Bye My Love.”
“Okay kid, jammies?” he asked, holding his hand out to the small girl. She nodded and took it. It was almost 6:30 so she must have been getting tired. He smiled seeing that you’d left her a pair of pink pyjamas with small white bunnies on, a fresh diaper, wipes and baby powder.
“You want to use the potty before we get you dressed?” She made an affirmative noise, so the pair headed to the bathroom. “You need help?” Eddie asked her.
“Pick up.” He lifted her on to her toilet seat and turned around, giving her some privacy.
“Done!” she said a few moments later. After the pair cleaned their hands they went back to the couch. Once her diaper was in place and she was comfy, he helped her step into her pyjamas pants, and slid her shirt over her head.
“There you go, nice and snug.”
“Eddie jammies?” she tilted her head slightly.
“Okay I’ll get mine on.” He paused, did he just leave her here? Did he take her with him? Was that weird? Should he stress over this? Probably not, but here he was.
She looked at him with her big eyes. “Drink pwease,” she said. Okay there’s a plan, he lifted her up and placed her into her high chair making sure she was secure. “What do you want to drink kid?”
“Juice!”
Moments later she had juice in hand, wiggling in her seat happily. “Okay Eddies just gonna get changed, you sit tight okay?”
“‘kay!” she copied.
“Okay,” he huffed, running to the bathroom, changing as fast as he could to sprint back to her.
“Jammies Eddie!” she squealed.
“Yeah kiddo,” he smiled, picking her up out of her seat. He wore a simple black tee with a pair of grey flannel pants, tying his hair back in a low ponytail. He read 7:00 on the clock. “So kid what do you want to do for the next half an hour?”
“Story!”
“Okay let’s go pick a story.”
They went over to the bookshelf in the living room, the lowest shelf full of her books. “Which one do you want?” Eddie asked, placing her on the floor. “Not these! Eddie story!” she exclaimed, as if it’s something he should have known.
“Eddies story?” she hummed and smiled up at him. “Eddie story book!” Oh! He knew what she meant now, she’d seen him reading the Hobbit in bed the last time he stayed over.
He grabbed his bag and pulled out his worn copy that Wayne had brought him not long after he moved in with him. “Come on then Kid, let me educate you on Hobbits.” She laughed at that. “What’s so funny?” he asked, unable to keep a straight face as she cackled. “Hobbits’ what’s a hobbits’?” she laughed.
“Well I’ll tell you all about them, but we have to get nice and comfy. So let’s get bunny and your dummy and have a cuddle okay?”
“‘kay,” she said still giggling a bit.
Sat comfy by Eddies side, he opened the book and began to read. “In a hole in the ground lived a hobbit.” Margot let out another laugh.
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
Half an hour later, Eddie closed the book and looked down at the small snoring girl next to him. Gently moving himself, he picked her up, placing her head on his shoulder, and grabbing her bunny.
Climbing the stairs, his heart melted as she snuggled into him. Laying her down carefully he clicked on her nightlight and place her bunny in her arms. “Goodnight kid, I love you.”
“Wove you Da,” she mumbled back. That had become a common thing when she was tired, she’d called him Da, or Daddy. But he was mostly still Eddie. He didn’t mind, he’d love her no matter what.
He kissed her head and left the room, heading back downstairs to see what needed to be done for you. The house was mainly clean, just some washing up that needed putting away, which he did with ease.
He closed the blinds and curtains, turning on a few lamps here and there. Settling down to continue his magical adventure.
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
“Mama! Mommy!” Eddie jumped awake to the sound of a familiar shout. Margot. Running up the stairs he saw the small girl walking out of her mothers room. “Mama,” she cried, extremely upset.
“Hey kiddo,” he said gently, not wanting to scare her. “Daddy!” she cried, running to him. She wrapped her little arms around his neck and cried harder. “Hey kiddo, it’s okay.” She sobbed. “It’s okay baby, Daddy’s got you,” he rocked her gently in his arms, shushing her.
He did take your advice and took her downstairs, placing her on the sofa and turning on Cinderella. Once he was sure she would be alright he headed to the kitchen to warm some milk for the pair.
Checking it wasn’t too hot, he handed her bottle over, which seemed to comfort her straight away. Watching the beautiful princess on the screen and giggling at Gus Gus she seemed more like herself.
“You feeling better baby?” he asked brushing her curls. “Mhm. Cuddle?” she titled her head.
He nodded, taking her bottle and placing it by his empty glass. He lifted the girl and lay down, putting her on his chest. Her head rested in his neck and she snuggled in, placing her dummy back in and grabbing her bunny tightly.
Eddie pulled a blanket over the pair of them and rubbed her back, gently playing with her curls every now and again. 10:56 the clock read.
The movie finished. Margot had been asleep for a while, since Cinderella went to the ball actually, but he didn’t want to risk moving her. He sat up carefully, placing her on the couch, making sure she was snuggled up.
Placing the glass and bottle in the sink, he began to turn off the lamps, minus the one in the front hall so you got in safe. He walked back to see Margot still snoozing and couldn’t help but smile.
He never thought he’d get this, he knew he wasn’t her biological dad, but his heart melted that she saw him as that. That she loved him as that. That you loved him. He thought after what happened with Chrissy he’d be alone forever.
He shook his head to remove the thought, he had you and Margot, Wayne and Maeve. He had his friends too, who also adored Margot, thinking she was the cutest thing.
Carefully picking her up, he draped the blanket over the back of the couch. Grabbing his book and her bunny in one hand, holding her with the other.
When he placed Margot down on her bed she whined, pulling his back down to her. “Stay,” she mumbled, half asleep still. Bringing her too him again, he turned off her nightlight and carried her to your room.
Placing the book on the bedside table, he tucked both of them in. Margot snoozed up against his chest, he kissed her head. “Goodnight baby, Daddy loves you.”
~ / / / * \ \ \ ~
3:30am. Walking into the house, you slipped off your shoes and sighed. That had been a hell of a shift, but the tips were great. Your home was silent, the lamp in the hall left on which you smiled at, knowing it was a gesture of Eddies love.
Hanging your bag on the hook, you headed up the stairs. Popping your head into Margots room you became confused. She wasn’t there.
Trying not to panic, you almost jogged to your own room. Heart melting at the sight that greeted you. Eddie and Margot cuddled up together.
Changing into your own pyjamas, you climbed in next to them, cuddling in. Eddie kissed your forehead, still very much asleep, pulling you closer, but leaving enough room for Margot not to be squished.
This was the most loved you’d felt in so long. You, Eddie and your girl, Margot. Your little family.

warnings: none! <3
i haven’t written a fic in foreverrrr and this is my first post on this acc, so i’m sorry if this is sloppy 😭
“chris have you seen my- you’re shaving?!” you exclaim, well aware that you’ve been begging him to shave for about a week now and he just shrugged it off.
“stop y/n, i need to look good,” he groans, not looking away from himself in your childhood bathroom mirror.
“well i can assure you that there’s no one to impress there besides old ladies,” you joke, winking at him through the mirror, only to receive an eye roll in return.
“you look great chrissy, i promise.”
as you two get in the car with your parents, you rest your hand on his knee and start rubbing it gently to let him know he’s gonna be okay, seeing how nervous he is. “i love you,” you whisper in his ear, making his cheeks turn light pink.
chris is well aware of how your family is structured, and knowing that he’s just some youtuber from boston who didn’t go to college makes him really nervous. on the plane ride to your parents house, he couldn’t stop telling you how nervous he was that your family wouldn’t like him, but little did he know you knew they would love him. ever since your mom met him for the first time, she couldn’t stop sharing with everyone about how much she loves him, so of course everyone begged you to bring him to thanksgiving.
“alright we’re here!” your mom exclaims and chris inhales deeply.
“chris i promise you, you’re gonna be okay.”
“i know, i just want to make the best impression i can,” he smiles faintly, taking your hand in his.
“well the only way you can do that is by being yourself,” you smile, squeezing his hand gently.
you two trail up the walkway behind your parents, walking into the house full of laughter and chatter. your moms sister spots you four walking in and gasps, taking everyone in a big hug before stopping at chris.
“you must be the one and only chris! i’ve heard so much about you! i’m susanne,” she smiles, taking chris in a hug as well.
“it’s really nice to meet you!” he smiles, watching as she begins to come over to you.
“oh my! he’s so handsome, you guys will have the cutest kids!” she ‘whispers’ well aware chris can hear her, making you and her both let out a little chuckle. after chris gets past the introductions with everyone, you realize there are a couple of people who he hasn’t met yet. as you walk over to your cousin, you tap her shoulder and ask her, “where’s julie and lily?”
“they’re upstairs, you know where to find them,” she smiles, giving you a head nod. you take chris’ hand and lead him to where your little cousins are, who you always have to babysit when it comes to the holidays.
“hi guys!” you smile, peaking your head around the door frame.
“y/n! hi!” they both exclaim, rushing over to hug you. as they do, that’s when they spot chris. both of their mouths drop, and you can instantly tell they’re shocked.
“who is this?” the youngest one, julie, shyly asks. her cheeks turn a little pink as she does so.
“this is my boyfriend chris! i’ve told you guys about him before,” you smile at chris, gently rubbing over his thumb with yours.
“hi guys, it’s nice to meet you! are these your dolls?” he questions, gesturing to the mess of barbie clothes and dolls on the floor.
“y-yeah they are! do you guys want to play with us?” lily asks.
“aw lils we’d love to but we also want to catch up with all of the adults downstairs. can we maybe play with you after dinner?”
“mhm!” lily smiles quickly going back to her game with julie. you and chris then head back downstairs, and you already notice chris is less nervous than before. after about an hour of just talking with everyone, it’s finally time for dinner. of course you grab a seat next to chris, and make sure that all the young adults are surrounding you guys at the table. your cousins boyfriend, johnny, is sat across from chris, and you already know that they’ll get along great.
“so you’re from boston right? does that make you a celtics fan?” johnny asks.
“i’m not too big on basketball, but i’ve been to plenty of celtics games. where are you from?” chris asks johnny, and you just watch in enjoyment.
“i’m from milwaukee, so of course i’m a bucks fan. but if you’re not into basketball what sports do you like?”
“well i grew up playing hockey, so im a big bruins fan,” chris smiles. the two boys keep talking for the entirety of dinner, and you just can’t let your smile go. watching chris get along with your family makes you so happy.
eventually the night ends, and nearly every old lady had pulled you aside to tell you how cute chris is, and that they love his fun energy. as you and chris get unready from dinner, chris receives a facetime call from matt. he answers it, and you quickly come running into the bathroom to say hi.
chris props his phone against the mirror as matt and nick fill the screen, “hi guys! how was your dinner?” nick asks.
“it was really good! dont you think chris?”
“mhm! y/n’s family is really great,” he smiles down at you, wrapping an arm around you as he does so.
“did you guys have a good dinner too?” he asks, watching as his brothers scavenge through the kitchen for late night snacks.
“yeah, same food as always,” nick chuckles.
“you guys aren’t mad at me for stealing chris this thanksgiving, right?” you ask.
“no not at all! there was actually food leftover for once, since chris wasn’t there to eat it all,” matt laughs, making chris flip him off.
“when do you guys leave for boston?” nick asks.
“our flight leaves at about 7:30 tomorrow, so we probably should be going to bed soon,” you state, seeing that the clock reads 11:25 pm.
“alright well goodnight guys, we’ll pick you up from the airport tomorrow. just text us updates okay?” nick says, and you and chris nod. the phone call ends, and you both climb into bed.
“did you have fun tonight? you and johnny really hit it off,” you smile at him.
“your family is really welcoming, i mean i should’ve known with how welcoming your parents are, but still,” he chuckles.
“i’m really glad you came chris. i’m really thankful for you.”
“i am too.”

Fangirl
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: In which you’re Corroded coffins biggest fan and then Dustin introduces you to Eddie
Word Count: 2293
Tumblr media
“Of course I can come watch Dustin Claudia. I can be over in like fifteen minutes.”
“Thank you so much sweetie! Ever since that earthquake I hate the idea of him being by himself. I’ll leave some money on the counter in case you guys need to get a pizza or anything.” You let out a relieved sigh once Dustin’s mom hangs up. You just have to call your friend Steph to cancel plans tonight before heading next door to the Henderson's. You didn’t really want to go to them anyway. She wanted to go out to a bar, which was fine. That's what you normally did with her but that was just to go see your favorite band. Under normal circumstances you hated going to bars, they were dark and dirty and you’d prefer to do something that didn’t involve older men hitting on you. But if Corroded Coffin was playing you could bet your ass you’d be there.
You’ve basically been their biggest fan since the first time you saw them perform. You had been at The Hideout with Steph getting a quick catch-up drink when they stepped onto the makeshift stage. You didn’t know there was going to be live music and admittedly that had gotten you to stay longer than you planned to, you were ready to leave as soon as your drink was gone but then you fell in love with the music. Since then you’ve gone with Steph to every show they’ve had making the plans yourself when you found out about a new one. You had even bought a shirt the one time they tried selling merch.
You hum to yourself as you make your way next door. Your mom has always been close friends with Dustins so you’ve known them your whole life. Dustin’s like a little brother to you since you’ve sort of always been around him and because of that his friends have become like siblings to you too. Even Max who only showed up two years ago but y'know saving the world together is a pretty big bonding experience.
“Dusty guess who’s here?” You sing while entering the Henderson residence.
“You know you don’t have to watch me right? I’m not a baby.” He comes into your line of sight and you pull him into a hug.
“What, you don’t wanna hang out with your coolest adult friend?”
“Please you wish you were as cool as Eddie.” He eyes your Corroded Coffin shirt as he says it expecting you to agree but you just scrunch your face up in confusion.
“Eddie? Who’s he? I only know Steve and Robin.”
“You don’t know Eddie?” He follows you into the kitchen confused. He really thought you would’ve known him from school or even just from his band or hell from when the whole town thought he killed Chrissy.
“No should I?” There’s a pause in the conversation as you open up the fridge to see what’s inside. “Wait, is he that guy your mom was telling me she’s weary of? Is he good to you Dusty, he doesn’t peer pressure you or anything right?”
“No God.” He groans. “You sound just like my mom. Eddie’s great, you wanna meet him? I could call him up and see if he’s able to stop by.”
“I’d be down for that. Gotta make sure he’s Steve’s replacement and not my own.”
“Oh my God you two are incorrigible, I'm not replacing Steve!”
“Sure you aren’t. Hey, what do you want to eat? I think I could manage making something tonight.”
“Don’t make anything! After I call Eddie we’ll order a pizza.” You weren’t any good in the kitchen, you were basically a walking disaster the moment you started trying to make anything.
Eddie’s phone rings while he practices a new song on his guitar. He groans as he breaks away from it ready to yell at whoever was bothering him while he was finally getting somewhere.
“Hello?” He rips the phone from its spot on the wall.
“Eddie you gotta come over man.”
“Henderson? What do you want, I’m busy. This isn’t another life or death scenario is it?”
“No, you gotta come over and meet someone. I don’t know how you don’t already know each other.” Eddie lets out a sigh of relief at it not being anything serious before taking a deep breath in.
“Dustin I’m not coming over at the last minute when I’m in the middle of something just to meet someone. Arrange a meeting date or something.” He’s getting ready to hang up on him when his next words stop him.
“If she likes you my mom will probably let you back in the house. That means you can come over for dinners again.”
“I’ll be over in fifteen.” Eddie slams the phone down and throws his leather jacket on before flying out the door to his trailer at the thought of getting to eat Mrs. Hendersons meals again. He pulls up as the fire alarm starts blaring from inside the house. “Jesus christ.” He rushes out of his van and up the walkway just in time for the door to get thrown open.
“Fuck, shit, shit! Move!” You come flying out of the house tossing the pan with a small fire in it into the yard. You pay no attention to the man you just yelled at, too preoccupied with your own mistake besides it was probably just the pizza guy anyway.
“This is why I told you not to make anything!”
“Dustin just shut up and get me a shoe or something to put out the flame!” You catch the shoe he throws at you before falling to your knees and pounding at the grass. “See Dusty, it's fine now. We’ll just leave the pan out here to cool off and grab it before your mom gets home. She never needs to know this happened.” You stand up straightening out your clothes and wiping the sweat from your forehead before heading back to the door.
“What did I just walk into here?”
“That’s just what happens when Y/n tries to cook. Eddie meet Y/n, I’ve known her my whole life and she’s basically my sister. Y/n meet my cool new adult friend Eddie, who I’m not replacing Steve with.” You look up at the man in question and freeze, dropping the shoe in your hand. You immediately recognize him as Corroded Coffins lead guitarist and singer.
“I, um, hi I’m Eddie. No sorry you’re Eddie, I’m Y/n.” He chuckles at your mess up and takes you in while you feel your face heat up. Your hair is thrown up and you’re standing barefoot before him in a short pink skirt and one of his band's shirts?
“Is that a Corroded Coffin shirt?”
“Oh, uh, yeah I’m sort of a really big fan. I saw a show sometime in February and I’ve been to almost every show since. This thing is basically my prized possession since you guys never sold anything after the show I got this at.” You hold the bottom of said shirt holding it out to inspect it.
“Yeah, that’s because only two people bought something. We figured it wasn’t worth it to make more stuff. You know, I think I’ve seen you at a few shows actually.”
“Really?” Your eyes go wide as your head whips up to look at him.
“Yeah, you’re the one who always claps after songs.” Eddie’s playing it cool. Of course he’s noticed you in the audience full of mainly drunks. It was hard not to after the first time his attention was drawn to you when you whooped for them after a set. You were basically a constant after that and before every show he would scan the bar for you. He’d joke with the rest of the band that you were his good luck charm because he always played better when you were there once they caught onto what he did.
“Yeah, that’s me. I hollered once but my friend who I always go with told me she’d stop taking me if I kept it up. You guys are like super amazing though! Your cover of Master of Puppets is, I think, my favorite version.” Eddie’s cheeks tinge pink at the praise.
“You two gonna come inside or stand out here till the pizza comes?” Dustin asks coming back to the doorway to find the two of you just smiling at eachother.
“Coming Dusty! I gotta clean the kitchen up anyway.”
“Yeah Dusty, we’re coming.” Eddie extends his arm for you to go first and slightly bows while smirking at Dustin with the knowledge of this new nickname.
“I’m regretting introducing the two of you already.” He groans out, backing out of the way.
“You were right, he’s much cooler than Steve.” You murmur to Dustin as you pass him and Eddie overhears it. Butterflies swarm in his stomach at that. He’s cooler than Steve ‘the hair’ Harrington? No one other than his friends had ever thought he was even a little bit cool and now here you are an angel who not only loves his band but also thinks he’s cooler than Steve. It’s almost too good to be real.
Once he overcomes the initial shock the goofiest grin grows on his face and he follows the two of you into the kitchen where Dustins putting stuff away and you’re wiping down counters.
“So how do you know Dustin?”
“Eddie’s the DM in my DnD club.” Dustin answers just as Eddie opens his mouth to speak.
“Oh, Hellfire right? I remember hearing about it when I was in high school.”
“I can’t believe the two of you didn’t meet then. I mean Eddie was supposed to graduate a year after you Y/n/n.”
“Oh? How come you didn’t?”
“Never went to class.” Eddie shrugs while crossing his arms over his chest. “Spent too much time getting high and planning stuff for campaigns.”
“Well I’m glad you were still there to watch over my whittle Dusty poo.” You use a baby voice as you pinch Dustin's cheeks.
“Y/n.” He draws your name out while shoving you away. “I’m not a kid anymore, you can’t do that.” Regardless of how annoying and embarrassing he finds it when you do that he can’t help but smile at the affection and Eddie catches it before Dustin can mask it. The doorbell rings then and Dustin quickly excuses himself stating it’s probably the pizza.
“Thank you.” You say to Eddie in a low voice once he’s out of the room.
“For what Sweetheart?” Your heart speeds up at the nickname.
“For taking Dustin and the others under your wing this year. They didn’t have the easiest time in middle school with bullies and whatnot, and I was really nervous for them to start high school. But then Dustin told me all about this cool senior who invited them to Hellfire club and how you all look after each other and I was really excited for them to branch out and make new friends.”
“Oh that was no big deal, they’re great kids.” You smile at him before turning to get the plates once the front door closes. But of course Claudia still keeps them on the top shelf so you have to stand slightly on your tiptoes to reach them.
“Let me help.” Eddie comes up behind you reaching up and easily grabbing three plates, his other hand resting on your hip.
“Thanks.” You look down hoping to hide the heat rushing up your neck.
“Am I interrupting something?”
“Eddie was just helping with the plates.” You jump away from the man who’s still so close to you, taking the plates from his hand and holding them up to show Dustin before rushing into the dining room.
“So are you graduating this year?” You ask Eddie later while the three of you eat.
“On track for it.”
“That’s cool, there’s what, just two months left?”
“About that long and then it’s goodbye Hawkins High and all the judgemental assholes in it!”
“What are you doing after?”
“I dunno, focus on the band probably.” He watches as your eyes light up at the mention of his band. You had honestly forgotten who exactly was sitting across from you.
“Speaking of your band, have you ever thought about doing shows not at bars or at least at ones that allow underage kids in? Because I know Dustin and the crew would probably go and I’m sure there would be other kids interested. Or you could put posters up in college areas because I only ever see them around Hawkins and everyone here already has their opinions about Corroded Coffin it feels like. I know people in my school would definitely be interested in seeing you guys perform.” Eddie's hands slam down onto the table causing you and Dustin to jump in your seats. He points at you and leans over the table.
“You might just be a genius! I have to tell the guys about this!” He gets up and rushes to the door leaving you and Dustin to look at each other in confusion before he’s leaning around the corner. “Hey uh by the way we have another gig tomorrow night if you wanna come. I could pick you up beforehand and take you home after.”
“I’d like that. I live just next door.” You nod and a shy smile crosses your face.
“Cool then it’s a date. Bye!” He waves and rushes out before you can notice how pink his cheeks are becoming and leaving you to smile into your hand while Dustin fake gags.
“You guys are gross.”

Eddie is different, afterwards.  Dustin doesn’t understand why no one is doing anything about it.  It’s like the spark has gone out of him, except with Eddie it wasn’t just a spark, it was fireworks, and now he’s like the old flashlight Dustin once found at the back of his closet that barely flickered.
When Eddie doesn’t even want to play D&D, Dustin tries talking about it with Will.  He tells him he doesn’t know why Eddie can’t just snap out of it, and Will glares at him like he suggested raising another baby demodog.  In retrospect, maybe he shouldn’t have made light of being trapped in the Upside Down with the only other guy he knows who went through the same thing.
Dustin knows Eddie’s gone through some shit, he does.  But the truth is he misses him, misses his confident swagger, his disdain for people who are afraid to wave their freak flag high.  He misses his big smile, and his crazy faces.  He misses the way Eddie took care of his little lost sheep.
The government gave Eddie and Wayne a new trailer, but Dustin hasn’t seen it yet.  Max spends as much time as she can with El or hanging out at the Wheeler’s, saying the trailer park still feels haunted to her.  Dustin wonders what it’s like for Eddie, still being there every day, in the place he saw Chrissy die.
Dustin goes to summer camp again, and for a while he’s able to put it all out of his mind.  Suzie is there, and being with her is awesome.  For four weeks he tries to pretend that the insanity and terror of living in Hawkins is no big deal.  But then he comes back home.
After a few days of riding around town on his bike and hanging out with the party,  Dustin decides to organize a trip to the arcade.  He tries to call Steve for a ride, but there’s no answer at his house, and when he goes to get the walkie Mike stops him, saying he thinks he’s busy.  Dustin protests for a while, but finally gives up when El tells him that the Byers are having a barbeque that weekend and he’ll see Steve then.
Saturday dawns hot and bright, and Dustin puts on his favorite camp shirt and heads over to the Byers’ new house early.  Joyce gives him a warm hug, like always, and he goofs around with Will until Jonathan forces them to help set up chairs in the backyard.  People start arriving around lunchtime, but it isn’t until he’s eaten two ketchup-drenched hot dogs and an overcooked burger that he sees Steve arrive, Eddie trailing close behind him.
He wants to run over and give Eddie a giant hug, better even than the one Dustin got from Joyce, but Robin suddenly appears next to him and puts a hand on his arm to hold him back.  “Let him ease into it,” she says softly.  Dustin doesn’t know why Eddie would need to ease into hanging out with his friends, but something in Robin’s tone tells him not to argue.
Eventually Dustin decides enough is enough.  He finds Eddie in the house, sitting next to Steve on the couch, talking softly with Hopper who is leaning against an armchair.  They all swivel their heads towards him when he pokes his head in, and Hopper nods and leaves the room, grunting some kind of greeting at Dustin as he goes by.
“Hey, what’s up?”  Steve says, and Dustin stumbles over both his feet and his words as he throws himself at the two of them.  Steve catches him and holds him tight, and he feels Eddie wrap an arm around him too.
“I want everyone to be okay,” Dustin mumbles, feeling like an idiot but not able to really say anything else.
“We’re okay, dude, don’t worry,” Steve says.  “I mean, Hopper’s grill skills could use some work, but generally speaking that’s not a big deal.”
“Really?  That’s what you’re going with?  You know that’s not what I mean.”  Dustin pushes out of their hold and sits on the coffee table.  He looks at Eddie, and then Steve, who exchange a weird glance, and then Eddie leans forward.
“I’m sorry, bud.  It really wasn’t my year, I guess. But-” Eddie’s eyes flash over to Steve, who gives him a wry grin and knocks their knees together.  “Things are looking up.  I’m okay.  Really.”
Dustin realizes that Eddie does seem better.  He’s completely lost that gray haze.  Even his hair looks better, bouncier, like Steve has been sharing his secrets.  “Do you swear?” he asks, his throat tight.
Eddie laughs, and it makes something glad and joyful bubble up in Dustin’s chest.  Steve looks happy about it too, and he grabs Eddie around his shoulders and pulls him close to his side, making Eddie laugh some more and then rest his head on Steve’s shoulder.  “Yeah, I swear.”
Dustin hears Nancy announcing something about ice pops, and he decides he better get out there before all the good flavors are taken.  “All right.  Fine.  See you around?”
“For sure,” Eddie says, and it’s a little softer and quieter than maybe Eddie was before, but Dustin still feels that warmth inside him.  Because the spark is back in Eddie’s eyes.  It’s not quite fireworks yet, but it’s there, and it’s awesome.

just a sad little scared eddie blurb to ruin everyone's night <3 reader goes to find him at rick's after chrissys death
Tumblr media
i'm just practicing my writing skills, ive been out of practice and need to know if i still got it <3
Tumblr media
"Eddie?" you whisper yelled, scared to be at Rick's all by yourself. You'd been here with Eddie a few times, and you just didn't know where else to look. "Eddie are you in there? I'm scared."
Silence.
"I don't think you did it," you kept talking, "I don't think you had anything to do with Chrissy's, uh, ... I don't think you hurt her."
Silence.
If he wasn't here, you wouldn't know where else to look. Tears formed in your eyes at the thought. Wherever he was he was probably terrified, scared that whatever hurt Chrissy will get him too. Or worse... whatever got Chrissy already got him.
"Eddie, please, please be in there!" you raised your voice, your voice crackling and breaking beneath the pressure of your tears, now fully flowing down your face. "Please," your voice lowered again, "I can't help you if I can't find you."
And then there were footsteps. Light, trying to stay quiet, but the small creak of floorboards gave it away, and your breath hitched, trying to stay silent behind your wall of emotion.
"Eddie, it's just me," you whispered, "is that you?"
Your heart started racing, what if it wasn't him? What if it was the bad guy? You braced yourself to run, but, what if it was Eddie? You couldn't just leave him here, scared and alone. You forced yourself forward, touching the doorknob with a shaky hand. You were brave, you could handle this.
You opened the door, the loud creaking of it opening made your heart race so fast you thought it might leap right out of your chest.
"It's just me," you repeated, tip toeing and being quiet. "I really promise," you said, "everyone said to leave it but, I couldn't. I don't think you did that. I don't believe it."
For a moment you believed you were speaking to nothing but shadows, until...
"Really?" came Eddie's soft, broken voice, crackling from days of sobbing, and screaming.
You nearly gave yourself whiplash turning towards the sound, and there he was, puffy eyed and beautiful as ever, huddled in the corner of the room, knees balled up to his chest. And your eyes filled to the brim with tears, their escape unavoidable. The relief you felt when you saw him alive, and not hurt was palpable. Like, subconsciously you were really worried that something even worse had happened to him.
"Really," you promised, taking slow, careful steps towards him.
"I didn't do it, I didn't do that," he promised, eyes threatening to spill more tears down his already painfully stinging cheeks. "I couldn't..."
"I know," you promised, you promised again and again until you had made it in front of him, crouching to be at his level. "Eddie, you don't have to explain yourself to me, I already believe you."
"I'm scared," he whispered, and your heart shattered, like fragile glass, littering pieces of itself across the floor.
"Me too," you said, easing his arms off his knees so you could work your way between them, shuffling between his thighs until they hovered over your own legs, and you were close enough to pull him into a tight hug.
His messy hair fanned over your face and neck, but you didn't care. You held onto him, and he clung to you, like you were the only light in the dark. Like you were the only thing holding him up.
And he sobbed. Wept into your shoulder until big, salty tears landed on your skin, trailing down into your sweater, soaking the material with little wet spots.
"Do you still love me?" he asked, knowing the answer but needing to hear it for himself for it to remain true.
"Of course," you promised, and the violent shaking of his shoulders told you he was sobbing again. And you held onto him, letting him sob, holding him through it. And you'd keep doing that until you could clear his name. Eddie was innocent, you were sure of it, and you would fight for him always.
"I love you," he muttered, words catching and breaking through his tears.
A few more tears fell down your cheeks, and you two were a mess. But you couldn't care less, you found him. He was with you, where he should've always been. And you could help him now.
"I love you too."

Hellcheer Headcannons - Love Alphabet Template
Template by honestsycrets.
These are just my headcannons. Tag - what are yours?
A = Affection
Eddie and Chrissy are the king and queen of PDA. They can’t get enough of each other. Eddie touches Chrissy to reassure himself that he’s not dreaming. They’re big on hugs and kisses and physical signs of affection.
B = Babies
Chrissy wants kids but she wants to live a little first. She wants to go to college and maybe see more of the world. Eddie has never thought about it before (he’s never had a reason to) but the idea of Chrissy getting big with his child makes him feel all hot and gooey inside. He’s afraid of being a crap dad though.
C = Cuddles
They cuddle a lot. Chrissy is usually the little spoon as she likes having Eddie’s arms snug around her waist. Eddie loves holding her too. He likes kissing the top of her head and nuzzling into her neck.
D = Darling
Chrissy calls Eddie Eddie, but the way she says it makes it sound like the most intimate and private of nicknames. Eddie called her Cunningham at first, then Chrissy, then Chriss. He calls her ‘baby’ and ‘sweetness’ and it makes her melt.
E = Enamored
They fall for each other quickly and they fall hard. They are not the ‘slow burn’ troupe. They go right for the kill.
F = Firsts
Chrissy isn’t Eddie’s first but it feels that way when they eventually fuck for the first time. He’s nervous as shit but in the end it’s fucking amazing. They fit together like a puzzle. Chrissy makes Eddie wait a little as she’s nervous (she’s read that once you give it away to a guy you can never take it back) but Eddie makes her realise it’s not something he wants to take. Eddie shares it with her, and makes her sing.
G = Good Morning
Chrissy is a morning person. Eddie is not. That takes some adjusting but Eddie doesn’t mind. It gives them more time together (though he insists on strong black coffee).
H = Hugs
Oh yes. All the time. Chrissy hugged Eddie for the first time when he saved her from Vecna. It wasn’t planned but the weight of his arms felt like safety.
I = In Labor
Eddie is freaking out but he’s trying his best to keep calm in front of Chrissy. He makes sure she has everything she needs and he hates seeing her in pain. They ask him if he wants to step out of the room when it’s showtime but he holds onto Chrissy’s hand like an anchor (even though she squeezes so tight he thinks the bones might break). He cries later as he takes in his entire world.
J = Jealousy
Eddie can get jealous. He has baggage and it takes him time to accept, yes, Chrissy really truly does like him. He hates seeing guys checking Chrissy out. Chrissy makes an effort to remind him she’s not going anywhere.
K = Kisses
They kiss a lot. With tongue. Without tongue.
L = Loyal
Are you kidding? Ride or die.
M = Memory
Chrissy’s is their first time together. She didn’t know girls could get off like that. Eddie’s is when he first saw Chrissy in a Hellfire T-Shirt. That blew his mind.
N = Never!
Their only rules are they both need total honesty and trust. They never lie to one another.
O = On the Rocks
They never really argue (which is a shame as Eddie thinks the make-up sex would be fucking incredible).
P = Playtime
Eddie loves going down on Chrissy. It’s his favourite thing in the entire world. Chrissy loves riding face. He coaxes all sorts of fun and wild things out of her.
Q = Quiet Time
They can be totally quiet together easy. They spend quiet nights watching movies, reading, Eddie practising his guitar.
R = Rapture
Is each other. And strawberry flavoured lipgloss.
S = Soulmate
Eddie admits to being pretty jaded about all things to do with love before he met Chrissy. Chrissy calls him her soulmate and says she thinks they’d find one another in any dimension or universe. Eddie calls her a total freak when she says that and kisses her neck but knows she’s right.
T = Together
Everything is better and more interesting to explore together. They do spend a lot of time together and it’s almost embarrassing how needy they are. Where one goes, the other will follow.
U = Unyielding
Eddie will tell any interloper very bluntly to fuck off. Chrissy got mad once when some girl at a music gig tried touching Eddie’s arm and boy was she all over Eddie that night.
V = Vulnerable
Eddie is vulnerable with Chrissy. Everyone else sees him as this scary mean freak (and they're not wrong) but he’s soft with Chrissy. Chrissy used to keep a lot of things bottled up like bubbling champagne but Eddie had a corkscrew.
W = Wedding
Chrissy always pictured having a white wedding with the big dress and fuss. Eddie does suggest this as he wants her to be happy (though honestly he’d be happy with a quickie at the courthouse) but in the end they have something intimate and special with just their friends (and Wayne) attending. She's sad when her parents don't show. When Eddie puts a ring on her finger and she’s now Christine Munson she cries. So does he.
X = (E)x
Jason tries to cause trouble when they first come out as a couple, but there’s not much he can do when Chrissy and Eddie look so god-damn happy all the time.
Y = Yearning
Chrissy will call Eddie in the middle of the night if she misses him (he’s reassured her this is okay). The next day he’ll swing her up into his arms and tell her he’s missed her and she’ll laugh and pepper his face with kisses.
Z = Zzz…
They usually sleep at Eddie’s. Eddie sometimes sneaks into her bedroom (climbing up the trellis) but they can’t really ever relax with her parents around.
