The Legacy of Buffalo & Pittsburgh 207
Here’s another example of tying the threads together.
A few days ago, Wayne Duffett sent me a photo of a bridge on the Buffalo & Pittsburgh that he’d inspected some years back. In his story about the bridge (that was involved in a fire) he made mention of B&P GP9 number 207 that later was sold to the Finger Lakes Railroad, becoming its 1751.
About a dozen years ago, Conway Scenic traded a pair…

Fabyan Portrait por Bradley Conant
Por Flickr:
Former CN FP9's pause in front of Fabyans depot during a runaround move. The Hazen's extra is pushed the remainder of the trip to the end of the operational line. A hi-rail truck ran ahead to flag the crossings and the guy gave us some tips on places to shoot since he saw us so regularly. I used this shot as a screen saver on an older PC since they moved on to Pan Am for OCS work. Conway Scenic Railroad, Fabyans, NH

SPR 15, a GE 44-ton locomotive, pulls a passenger coach for Southern Prairie Railways in Ogema, Saskatchewan. A tourist railway, SPR is operated by the Ogema Heritage Railway Association and runs on trackage formerly part of the CPR Assiniboia subdivision, now owned by shortline railway company Red Coat Road & Rail. SPR's locomotive was purchased in 2010 from Conway Scenic Railway in Conway, New Hampshire, and was originally built in 1945 as a switcher for the Maine Central Railroad. Two Station Floors-21 years apart
The other day, Conway Scenic Railroad’s Buildings & Grounds crew coated the North Conway, New Hampshire station lobby floor with a glossy polyurethane protective finish. I made a few photos for the company’s social media.
Digital photo exposed with a Nikon Z7-II with 24-70mm lens.
The resulting images reminded me a photo that I made at Washington Union Station back in May 2022. In that image, I…

The Colworth Notch Express
Decided that I wanted to try making a piece involving trains this time. Loved some of the several results, but loved both the coloration and the way the train is coming towards the viewer the best here. Also wanted a mountain pass involved in it. I was mostly inspired by the tourist railroads in New Hampshire such as the Conway Scenic Railway, which I have yet to go on but will next time I'm in the area! Please enjoy this scenic AI generated work of art!
