i'm listening to pretty. odd. 👀 was it by any chance influenced by the beatles as well? their experimental era specifically because this is giving peak psychedelic rock and i LOVE it

YESSS!!! The Beatles and the Beach Boys seems to be the biggest influences on the album. The band talked a lot about taking influence from music from the 60's and 70's, naming the Kinks, the Plastic Ono band and Danny Elfman's composition works as influences. So it comes across as a mix of pysch rock and contemporary classical music.

Okay I think. I'm posting it. 800+ something words under the cut, I wanted to write something kind of like the audio dramas featured on the album CDs or the silly skits in the podcast episodes, so it's all written as if it were a script. Enjoy?!

Lazarus: Well, I got bored waiting for the time to come around, and I wanted to see you right away, so... ahem.

Lazarus: Anyway, we’re watching the Ultrawitch finale tonight, right? I've been looking forward to it.

Levi: Actually, I… had something else in mind for us to watch tonight, if that’s okay with you? We can totally finish the series some other time, it’s just- I saw something I really wanted to watch with you ASAP, and…

Lazarus: Really? I do wish you’d told me that earlier...

Lazarus: But it’s fine. I suppose I don’t really care, as long as we get to hang out. What did you have in mind?

Levi: It’s this 12 episode anime I discovered recently. Each episode covers a different tragic story, with different characters. It's supposed to be SUPER heartbreaking lol. I mean, i-if you care.

Lazarus: Huh… much different from our original plan... but alright. It sounds interesting enough.

Levi: Really?! Thank goodness, I was so worried you’d turn down the idea!! Okay. Come sit down, I’ll get it all set up.

Lazarus: Got it.

Lazarus: …Hey, you’re moving in a bit close, Levi…

Levi: Yeah, so I can see your face bette- um, I mean-! A-A-Am I?! I’m so sorry! I’ll get out of your personal space right away, ahahaha!

Levi: A-Anyway, I’m about to hit play, so quiet down and watch closely, alright?!

Lazarus: (Yeah, I know what that's like...)

Levi: W-Well, that was the final episode. Um... your thoughts, please?

Lazarus: Eeeh, bit of a 6/10 to me, I think. No, maybe 6.5... 6.7?

Levi: 6.7?!?! That's it?! N-No way... did you somehow feel nothing while we were watching it?

Lazarus: Well, the stories themselves were written fine enough. But, it didn't really do anything for me overall..

Levi: ...You're unbelievable.

Lazarus: Eh?! Hey, what's with the sudden mood change? Are you mad at me?

Levi: Tch... I should have known... even if we ARE best friends, you'd never... not in front of someone like me...

Lazarus: Levi?

Lazarus: Hm? So all of this was merely you trying to make me cry?! Okay, I miiiiight judge you a little for that. You’re weirder than I thought, aren't you! Ahaha!

Okay so basically  this is their most recent album, 2014, and it follows the Killjoys as they fight against BL.IND (Better Living Industries) who seek to ELIMINATE all  individuality. (Spoiler: They die saving The Girl in the music video for SING)

Upbeat!!! Dancing!!! Fast!!! You jump around screaming about doing crime and partying and sex!!! I love it!!! (you should listen to it after Look Alive Sunshine, which is the intro to the album and its just Dr D speaking, and at the start of Na Na Na, it goes ��THE FUTURE IS BULLETPROOF! THE AFTERMATH IS SECONDARY!! TIME TO DO IT NOW AND DO IT LOUD! KILLJOYS, MAKE SOME NOISE!!!’) 

Bulletproof Heart 

Uh so this is sorta less fast and stuff but its SO cool and idk how to describe it but its sorta jaunty? First song I listened to by the band!!! (Fav part is ‘and tho, I know, how much you hate this. Are you gonna be the one to save us? From. The black. And hope-less feelin. Will you meet ‘em when the end comes reelin? Hold, your heart, into this darkness. Is now injectable, PROCESS THE PROGRESS, This core is critical, faith is un-a-vail-a-ble, Lives, become incredible-‘ and also ‘Youre unbelievable, ah, so unbelievable, ah, you ruin everything, oh, you better GO HOME! more radio pop!!!!! MORE MAINSTREAM KEVIN PARKER!!!!!!!! i do love tame impala's older/more niche sound just as much as i love him "selling out" (whatever, i will defend his minions and elvis tracks until i die and i will MEAN it) so i am STILL excited for this album even though the roll-out of singles has been consistently awful. but i guess dua lipa is a slow riser always (however long did it take her to peak on charts with 'dont start now'???). plus obviously DANNY!!!!!! YAY FOR DANNY!!!!!

its been a really good spring so far, with so many of my faves releasing music, and obviously that includes sebastian. i remember watching the runway show this was made for, but for some reason i didnt hear the whole track - maybe it was just highlights or something? i really love the synths in this one. its unusual for him to bring the choral singing in the start instead of the climax of the track, but its really well done (as always)! i wish, i wiiiiiiiiish there was something happening about the new album, too.

charli's really being weird recently about everything but goddddddd this slaps so good. im usually not that big on gesaffelstein but i do love ag cook so much. its going to be such a good clubbing record like literally.... its crazy she STILL gets labeled hyperpop. i also like club classics, but b2b is TRULY superior out of this double drop....

the beat of this one is just stuck in my head at all times. its cute! fun! perfect for spring. theyre soon to release their debut album, i need to remember to check it out. while its not SOTY material so far, its just cool and pleasant.

more dance sounds - i like this one a lot! really catchy. ive never really been into 1tbsp but yeahhhhh with this one, i get it.

ok i for sure posted this one before, but its ok bc it got like 0 or 1 likes or something. starwolf is a band im really hopeful for!!!! their 2020 album was pretty interesting, but its their three last singles that got my ears all perked up. some daytime disco vibes in them, and its really cool considering i was somewhat.... underwhelmed by poolside's last album. so, i feel good about starwolf now! fingers crossed for summer, as it would be a perrrrrrrfect record to replay over and over during hot sunny days.

and SUUUUUUUUUUUCHHHHHHHHH a spring favorite for the end. kind of getting lost in this one.... number one song i keep thinking of during sweet sunny walks recently. unbelievably cute. 10000% recommend.

summary- you work with queens producers, but you and roger cant stand each other and just really hate each other. one day your in the studio listening to music when roger walks in, you and roger then begin to bond a bit. *unedited*

this isn't smutty or anything, I think its just like a cute bonding moment between y/n and roger.

"move!" you shouted for the third time at roger who was in your way. '"calm down! I'm moving alright! Jesus could you be anymore inpatient" roger shouted back as he dramatically jumped out of your way.

"roger, having to work with you is like working with a 5 year old, trust me, I'm always patient with you" you said walking backwards to face him before beginning to walk out the studios door. "yea yea whatever" roger scoffed as he looked down at some photographs.

queen at the moment was recording killer queen, at first you didn't really like it, but the more the boys worked on it the better it became. as you were sorting through some random keyboards someone practically dragged you towards them. it was Freddie. "come on! I'm pretty sure we just got the perfect take of killer queen!!" he squealed dragging you into a room.

he began to play the recording to you. and it was perfect. no doubt. "woah....Freddie- I- that's- incredible? I- I don't know what to say..." you stuttered shocked by the unbelievably good song. "haha, don't say anything darling!! I know its perfect!!" he laughed smiling.

"haha, your right fred" you said smiling back "anyway, where are the others..". "oh I'm pretty sure they all just left for home" Freddie shrugged "and, saying that, I probably should too..wanna ride?" Freddie said and he got up. "oh no thanks, ill probably clean up a bit here, this place doesn't clean its self, ill see you tomorrow!" you smiled. "well, okay, bye bye!!" Freddie waved closing the door behind him.

you began to clean up for a bit, making sure there wasn't any trash around. after walking around picking up about 3 dozen coffee cups you huffed and sat back down on the couch. you turned your head to see the records. "oo, don't mind if I do.." you chuckled walking over to them. looking through the records you found some good ones. then you found your favorite. the Beatles- magical mystery tour. "oh yes!" you cheered picking it up.

you placed it on the record player, and began to listen. as you were listening to your absolute favorite on the album, I am the walrus, someone walked in. "ayy, whos playing that" roger walked in with a big grin "oh you..." his grin faded into a confused and disgusted face.

"what are you doing here?" you questioned. "what? am i not allowed to be here?" he questioned back. "no just- Freddie said you all went home" you rolled your eyes and began to just listen to the music again. "I was just out playing some tennis, thought id get some exercise". "didn't ask" you smiled.

"so..you like this song?" he raised an eyebrow putting a hand on his hip. "yes. Its one of my favorite songs" you nodded. "hm, at least there's one good quality about you". roger smirked. "hm?" you glared at him. "your music taste, I mean".

he sat down next to you, acting more friendly then usual, it was creeping you out. "why are you acting so weird...stop it" you shook your head and chuckled. "like what?" he cocked his head. "um nice?" you answered.

"huh, well, I'm not sure, anyway, what's your favorite part of this song?" he questioned. "haha, uh, you know the part where its like, 'mister city policeman sitting, pretty little policemen in a row" you thought singing it out. "yea! I love that part too!!" roger chuckled.

that's pretty much how the rest of the 5 hours you and roger spent with each other were. turns out, even though you both hated each other, you both loved the same music. you both sat on the floor looking through records and playing music. anytime there was a sad or soft song you and roger would sit there quietly. anytime there was a loud or fun song you and roger would dance around like a bunch of monkey's, just jumping around the place.

"hahahaha, you- you know what we should- play- next" roger huffed out of breath from jumping around to 'back in the U.S.S.R' "what" you huffed your face all red". "oh shit" you laughed in remembrance before roger could say anything. "what?" roger chuckled. "its super late, I should be getting back home now". "do you really have to go?" roger leaned his head back. "sadly yes" you laughed.

"fine" roger grinned. "ill see you tomorrow i guess". "haha yep, and I think tomorrow will be the first day i look forward to seeing you, you made me hate you less today" you smiled picking up your coat. "haha, I hate you less too y/n" roger laughed.

Mediabase: 9 BB: 11 Hey, So I just got in from Idaho Falls, I did a sold out show in Ogden, UT ?? 2 nights ago and then another in Idaho Falls last night. It was snowing in both places and FREAKING cold. MAN it was cold. So today we all piled in this huge van and drove to the airport in Salt Lake City (4 hr. drive) and ??? ?? me and mom were supposed to be flying to St. Louis for WIL JingleFest, and but Scot called me at the airport and said "St. Louis is supposed to get 15 inches of snow, they're cancelling the show. You have a day off." SO we hopped on a flight to Vegas, and we're supposed to have a 4 hour layover, but we found a flight that was just about to leave for Nashville, and it was barely full ?? so we ran and caught that one and here I am in my own comfy bed. I have tomorrow off so I'm gonna go out to eat with Abigail. Oh and I'm dieting again. Over the holidays I didn't watch what I ate and man its so weird how fast I can gain or lose weight... How crazy is this, I'm playing the Wild Horse Saloon tomorrow night and I'm SO excited. All of my friends are coming. Cannot WAIT. It's gonna be a fun show. So I've been home since Christmas. good things this week:

my BOY my GUY my MAN Joey Daccord had to step up and play two games for the Kraken this week and he did SO GOOD Y'ALL! it was unexpected on two levels, first that it would be him getting the callup instead of Driedger and second that he would actually get the start over Jones, and he made the absolute most of the opportunity—one of the postgame talking heads was a bit of an ass about the first one because he let in four, but Hakstol understood the circumstances (one extremely weird double bounce no goalie could have done anything about, two 6-on-5 situations our guys were not defending well) and sang his praises, and we won anyway. then the second one we lost in a shootout, but the only one he let in during regulation was a rebound off a killer initial save and then he went absolute beast mode in OT, just unbelievable. there's always gonna be a Mike Smith-shaped hole in my soul, but Daccord obviously idolized the guy when he was at Arizona State and plays so much like him that watching him really feels a little like coming home <3

really enjoyed this week's Ted Lasso ep, especially (spoiler warning) the part where Jamie sees Roy and Keeley leaving in two different directions and it's set up to make you think he's gonna go after Keeley to hit on her now that she's single again but instead HE GOES AFTER ROY to ineptly attempt empathy and hugs <333

listened to Debby Friday's debut album four times yesterday and three times so far today, I am so so so so into it

after some disappointing incidents with NHL pride nights, something cool happened with my local junior league team, the Thunderbirds—they didn't have an official pride night planned this season, so the fans just... made one happen themselves! the T-Birds have the only out gay player in the WHL, Luke Prokop, and EVERY SINGLE PLAYER used rainbow stick tape during warmups for this UNOFFICIAL pride night in support of their teammate, AND some of them kept the tape during the game. which, listen, I use Pride tape myself, but only on parts of the stick I don't have to handle the puck with, because real talk it is some crappy-ass tape, and any serious hockey player would know that just from touching it, so these guys were basically saying that supporting their teammate was more important to them than being good at hockey, and I just have a whole lot of feelings okay

Dallas has a goalie named Jake Oettinger whose nickname is Otter and he has lil cartoon otters painted on his goalie mask, which delighted both rocket bae and my mom (both big otter fans)

I started explaining what was going on during a Kraken game to Steph and she was like "I understood the goalie interference part" I'm so proud <3

I cut my hair and it feels very nice to not have all that shagginess on my neck

got two of the other Lammy-nominated anthologies from the library and they're both so impressive! (also both extremely different from each other and from Xenocultivars, doesn't really seem fair to compare us all tbh, but I guess that's just how it goes with awards)

rearranged my room to bring in a comfy chair and in the process found the fucking laptop I was 100% convinced must have gotten stuck in with rocket bae's stuff in storage because I had looked absolutely everywhere, including the place it actually was at least 3 times *eyeroll* but it has been found, hallelujah

made salted millionaire's shortbread and I'm gonna go bring some to a few local friends sometime this weekend, love sharing food with my people :)

OutKast - Stankonia

This is OutKast at their most stylistically varied. At times they hit the G-funk so hard that they sound almost exactly like P-funk, and at others they are experimenting with drum and bass instrumentals, and yet other tracks see them integrating guitar riffs. OutKast, and Andre 3000 in particular, are always balancing creativity with corniness and Stankonia has the best balance. Plus the hooks are unbelievably catchy. You will have Gasoline Dreams, Ms. Jackson, So Fresh So Clean, I'll Call Before I Come, B.O.B., or maybe We Luv Deez Hoez stuck in your head after listening to this album.

Steely Dan - Aja

This is one of the most meticulously produced albums of all time. You don't even need $1k headphones to hear it. The balance is perfect, every instrument in its right place, crisp and clear. The vocals rise to the top but never overtake the piano or horns, the drums are crisp and punchy yet never overtake the mix. Even if the music sucked ass I would still praise the production. Thankfully the music is also teally good. Steely Dan have perfected their crisp and sleazy brand of lightly funky jazz rock. In typical Steely Dan fashion the songs can mostly be described as 'about some guy or girl'. There's one weird caveat that has nothing to do with Steely Dan but the song Peg is ruined for me because, as big of a Steely Dan fan as I am, I'm an even bigger De La Soul fan so Peg is forever the sample from Eye Know for me. If you don't have the same brain worms as me this shouldn't be a problem.

Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction

I don't hate this album, I actually like it, but I do hate Rolling Stones' attitude towards metal. I can think of like five better metal albums from 1987 that they could shove in here, but no it is only the shit that's most palatable to dadrock audiences. Napalm Death - Scum, Laibach - Opus Dei, Mayhem - Deathcrush, Anthrax - Among The Living, Death - Scream Bloody Gore, King Diamond - Abigail. There that's six, none of them sound at all similar and they are all better than Appetite For Destruction. Sure I could do a real review for this album, but why? What could I say that hasn't been said? That Slash only jas one guitar solo in him that he reuses every song? Old news. That their whole aesthetic is corny as fuck(derogatory)? That their whole aesthetic is corny as fuck(affectionate)? Nothing I say here matters. I do like Nightrain tho. That song kinda goes.

Eric B. & Rakim - Paid In Full

The dynamic duo of 80s hip hop. Rakim was one of the best rappers of the 80s and Eric B. serves as a reminder that hip hop is more than just rapping. In fact Eric B.'s turntablism skills are more often the centerpiece than the rapping such as in Eric B. Is President or the instrumental tracks Eric B. Is On The Cut, Chinese Arithmetic, and Extended Beat. Although Rakim is no slouch and his dedication to internal rhyme schemes influenced a generation of lyrical miracles who would crash and burn trying to live up to Rakim's skill level.

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Astral Weeks is jazz pop with folk rock sensibilities. It features lengthy songs with a jazz band backing, but a lot of the instrumentals are also very folk influenced and the production feels more pastoral than jazzy. It's a hazy dreamlike mix of sounds that is fun and delightful to listen to, although I'm a little surprised at how high on the list it is. I'm confused and concerned that we have gotten two Van Morrison albums and zero Tim Buckley's.

Stevie Wonder - Talking Book

Throughout the 60s Stevie Wonder went from child prodigy to teen hit machine and when the 70s began is when he finally entered his 'classic era'. Talking Book was his 15th record but it spawned the biggest hit of his career, Superstition. Talking Book also sees Stevie Wonder evolving as a lyricist. You Are The Sunshine Of My Life expresses a very pure, innocent love that sits a bit outside of how Motown love songs were usually written and Big Brother is the start of Wonder's blunt, serious political songs with upbeat melodies. A landmark album in the funk and soul scene and the start of an era where no one else was allowed to win Grammys

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV

Oh here come the very cool tough hard rock boys singing about Tolkein again. Fucking nerds. What is that a mandolin? Lol. This album is so fucking good.

The Band - s/t

Oof, I'm conflicted. On one hand this is an amazing album, on the other it isn't better than Music From The Big Pink. The Band nail a sense of Americana here, especially on The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down and Up On Cripple Creek, but where Big Pink is a fantastic whole album this one is just a very good collection of songs. Swap their places and I have no complaints.

Liz Phair - Exile In Guyville

You have no idea how happy I am to see this album here, let alone at such a high place on the list. Exile In Guyville is one of the most perfect pieces of lo fi indie rock ever made. Liz Phair hits a unique place between the grunge and indie scenes without ever feeling like she's trying for anything other than sincerity. The sparse instrumentation makes it so every note is important and every emotion is laid bare. The rawness of emotion is essential when she's navigating the nuance of different kinds of disappointed and dispassionate. Liz Phair comes off as deeply cynical about men, but also very horny. I respect that. She roasts handsome confident men and then sings longingly about pathetic weirdos. I really couldn't relate more. This album above all others really makes me feel like I could, should make an album myself. The raw production, the simple short songs, the simple but honest lyrics. Exile In Guyville is one of the greatest indie albums of all time.

Les Mis Blogging RETURNS

Did you miss me???! (Mis me)

Yes I did carry the goddamn Brick all the way to New York and back, because I accurately guessed those long flights would make prime reading time. Well, one way at least—coming back too late at night after four long days I could manage nothing but huddling tired and cold in my seat, eyes closed, comparing every album of Hadestown available to me (to be continued) (Musicals: Two!)

But right now, we return....to France:

Volume III: Marius: Continued

Book 5

The rest of this volume treats primarily of Marius’s misadventures. One of the first things that happens is that THREE YEARS PASS. Marius is now twenty, we are told. What is wild about this is that would mean all the revolutionary boys we were just introduced to when Marius tumbled into them fleeing his grandfather’s at age seventeen, would now be three years older as well. Is that the case??? Is Enjolras actually to be 25 now? Bossuet 28? ''11th year'' student Bahorel fully to 30? It does not seem it! Perhaps the schoolboys of l'ABC are enclosed in one of those pockets of sustained time that fictional characters occasionally stray into—your Aubrey and Maturins, your Tintin and Haddocks—where the events of years happen yet don’t seem to apply to their lifespan. Paris marches on while they just continue to exist in a perpetual twilight of their mid-20s. I mean, good arrangement if you can get it.

But anyway, we’ll reconnect with them later. In the meantime, Marius learns what a woman are (barely), and figures out a way to keep himself (barely) fed, (barely) housed, and (barely) clothed. On that last, Courfeyrac gives him an old coat when his wears through—“But this coat was green. Then Marius ceased to go out until after nightfall. This made his coat black. As he wished to always appear in mourning, he clothed himself with the night.” Son, I love you.

Really he spends most of his three years alone daydreaming and being weird. Who can relate.

Book 6

We are given an in-depth physical description of Marius at this epoch, who turns out to be a raven-haired babe. We are then immediately treated to Courfeyrac flirting with him over how he won’t flirt with anyone, and Marius runs away. Remarkable.

But before we can have too much fun with that, we then slide into a rather trying section where Jean Valjean and Cosette re-enter the chat, have the same walking route as Marius (these creatures of unbelievable habit..), and then the very minute Cosette enters puberty, Victor Hugo and Marius are like “omg, a Woman.” No! A teenage girl! Barely!

Marius, admittedly also still emotionally an infant, proceeds to develop an entire religion around her. Over the course of months they share (1) glance—he is in raptures. At least we get some intermittent hilarity when it becomes clear Jean Valjean knows something is Up, and I personally believe leaves his own handkerchief on purpose, just to troll him.

Meanwhile, with the (one) friends we left behind: “On the way there, he encountered Courfeyrac, and pretended not to see him. Courfeyrac, on his return home, said to his friends, ‘I have just met Marius’s new hat and new coat, with Marius inside them. He was going to pass an examination, no doubt. He looked utterly stupid.’”

Sorry to focus so much on Courfeyrac when he actually appears vanishingly little in this part of the narrative, but every time he does appear it's something like this; what am I do to.

Book 7

Introducing: Montparnasse & Friends! UNREAL DESCRIPTIONS IN THIS SECTION. Here’s some selections:

“He was six feet high, his pectoral muscles were of marble, his biceps of brass, his breath was that of a cavern, his torso that of a colossus, his head that of a bird.”

“He was transparent but impenetrable. Daylight was visible through his bones, but nothing through his eyes. He declared that he was a chemist.”

“Claquesous was vague, terrible, and a roamer. No one was sure whether he had a name.”

and

“Montparnasse was a fashion plate in misery and given to the commission of murders. …his cravat knowingly tied, a bludgeon in his pocket, a flower in his buttonhole; such was the dandy of the sepulcher.”

A cold crime-hello to these four gentlemen.

Book 8

Jean Valjean stops taking Cosette to Marius’s stalking street and he sinks into a very accurate description of clinical depression. Meanwhile, I learn Groundhog Day may be French?? Sacré bleu!

But, while “Marius was too melancholy to take even a chance pleasantry well” (phenomenal sentence), Hugo has a scheme in the wings. EPONINE makes her teen reappearance—bold, tragic, unhinged. Incredible that this feral, topless little gremlin who crows in scrawling free-association verse is the origin character for the musical’s tender sadgirl singing ‘On My Own’.

I mean look at this:

So all this stuff rather wakes Marius up, as one might imagine, and before you know it really, he’s engaged in a misbegotten sting operation with Javert and the Thenardiers, who live next door to him in Jean Valjean's old apartment building. There are apparently only 20 people in Paris and 3 locations. Oh and you will never guess which mysterious charitable gentleman and his daughter the Thenardiers are trying to kidnap and rob! No you never will! Okay you have guessed it exactly! Marius, peering through a hole in his wall (Marius, how’s the peeping), already thinks of Jean Valjean as his father-in-law, and is so proud of him. As he should be, Valjean ~rules~. At various points throughout the proceedings, he maintains perfect noble silence pretending he has no idea who the Thenardiers are, leaps to his feet revealing he has secretly undone his fetters while Thenardier was monologuing, burns himself with a brand to prove he has no fear of death, and ultimately slips out a window down a rope ladder when no one is looking. I wish he was my father-in-law!

Thus concludes: Volume III ✓

Oh, and one more place-keeping point: thus concludes FIVE years now since Marius ran away from home. Five??!? Truly I think these five years have only stuck to Marius and Cosette. Oh! Hey maybe the way time works in Les Misérables is that it only touches you when you appear on the page. So Courfeyrac and Bossuet, present in a mere handful of lines since encountering Marius in a fiacre 100 pages ago, are therefore still just the same

(the best).

THE AFTERMATH IS SECONDARY!! TIME TO DO IT NOW AND DO IT LOUD! KILLJOYS, MAKE SOME NOISE!!!’)

Uh so this is sorta less fast and stuff but its SO cool and idk how to describe it but its sorta jaunty? First song I listened to by the band!!! (Fav part is ‘and tho, I know, how much you hate this. Are you gonna be the one to save us? From. The black. And hope-less feelin. Will you meet ‘em when the end comes reelin? Hold, your heart, into this darkness. first of main recommendation 4ever is flatsound I KNOW he has popular stuff but he gets me like no one else my bff since i was like 13. he gets a bit overbearing and a bit like. idk too much occasionally buttttt i pgive him a pass. generally id recommend anything from his 2011 album "i clung to you hoping we'd both drown", GOOD SHIT on there but scotland i wish you had stayed/last minute cycle/four songs for losing you/if we could just pretend/losing intrerest and the trust i had in you r all reallly good. heat death, eight months, computer wound, soap, prayer beads, syrup, old lumina, i lost control, meow meow meow, last minute cycle, im so concerned about the ending that i dont even know the plot, cute stuff like that. theres probably more but thats just off the top of my head. idek. he has some good instrumental albums too :)

speaking of if u like instrumental stuff -> BUCKETHEAD. HIII. hes so funny i love him my fav album by him is colma my mom and dad used to play it in the car all the time and it still makes me cry. i wouldnt say his stuff is lifechanging but i use it for bg drawing noise all the time and its sweet stuff + hes really really fun to watch live and play. cool guy.

HES FUNNY WEIRD ! and also hes really all you need yto know about them. they've switched out sm guys just keep him in mind. my fav lineup is peace sells bc chris poland was sweet looking and i just like gar samuelson for no discernable reason. they had a good ass bass player with GOOD ASS basslines but well he fucked that up! i honestly have no idea whos even in the band now. im basic w them i like rust in peace a lot and so far so good so what. they generally have a good few songs every album, enough for you to buy it but id never say theres like. an actual ass album thats like. i like every single song on it forever. SRRY LOL but i do really like his voice. song picks for them would be hook in mouth, 502, into the lungs of hell, honestly anything from rust in peace (ESP dawn patrol), peace sells title track, good mourning/black friday, n whatever else. im not the biggest fan of them but they have some good stuff. first album isnt bad either :o

MARCH 2019. i could be wrong bc dates get fuzzy but i’m pretty sure that was when he took an official social media break bc stuff was even more batshit and horrible than usual. (he was at the peak of Never tweeting not in all caps, online spaces were a shitshow, it was weird and bad. also i think this period of time and specifically this break is what really inspired him to call the album fandom and make it so That but that’s just my opinion lmao.) after a bit (not too long lol) he came back and was like. the worst he’s been online in my opinion. it was fair of him to take a break bc it really was horrible how the fandom was behaving (specifically twitter and in relation to him) but then he came back and was maybe the worst he’s ever been online i think. like there are so many specific things i to this day vividly remember him saying and bits of drama that occurred bc he was so angry at everyone and sure that he was always correct and entitled to everything

Gosh I can’t remember if this was yesterday or the day before, but I scrolled through someone’s Ghostbur tag for like TWENTY MINUTES STRAIGHT. AND I DID NOT REACH THE END OF THE TAG. THERE WERE JUST SO MANY GHOSTBUR POSTS!!! OH IT WAS GLORIOUS!!!

I know for a fact that I celebrated thanksgiving with extended family yesterday :) And we brought our dog Ginger along! She had a great time and was spoiled with several bits of turkey XD

My little three year old cousin sat on my lap while he ate some cake, and he was SO CUTE OH MY GOODNESS. He’s just… so small 🥺 Oh I love him.

"are we talking about a rumor that I was most offended by, or an unbelieveable rumor someone made up? i really can't remember every rumor i read because i stopped looking for them around 2018 or 2019 after i realized it wouldn't stop nor was everlast really going to do anything about it. however, there's been one topic i've been monitoring for a couple of years now that kind of fits both, so i guess it really doesn't matter."

"i remember reading a thread on twitter and seeing someone was overanalyzing my interactions with staff and male individuals, which was weird, but i had thought was harmless. the more i kept looking, it was shocking to see there were groups of people who genuinely believe that I essentially slept my way to the top. into the group, into my songwriter/producer position, into my solo career. literally anything i do, i had slept with someone important to get it. it was like it was entirely impossible for someone like me to have gotten there fairly, and it angered me because i did not spend seven years training just for it to get reduced to that.

there was an entire discourse about 24 hours and whether or not i was a dick-crazed woman who needed to be taught how to be a proper lady. firstly, i was raised extremely well, and secondly, it's a song i didn't write or produce. not like that would've mattered because 'the company gave that song to her for a reason'. honestly, that was crazy to read. any male idol or celebrity i was close to, i was trying to seduce and corrupt them. i drew the line with true north because they are like kids to me.

the most ridiculous part i read from all of that? people forming rumors that the reason mirrorworld had that hiatus after debut was because i was irresponsible and got pregnant. i couldn't help but laugh at that.

i'm sure these days they're still complaining about me and nitpicking everything i do. if they want me to be the bad guy, then i'll be that. nothing i do will change their minds."

"if this was an interview, I'd say 4 walls because we weren't complete as five when it was released. it's such a cop out answer and so far from the truth. at most, i'd want to rerecord and release 4 walls as 5. from the other albums, it'd be too easy to list an album I didn't work on, so those are excluded. OMG is also excluded because that's also too easy out of the albums I worked on.

i would get some backlash with my pick, but i'd erase the mirror festival. i was literally fucking around on a few of the tracks that made the final cut. i was literally one foot out the door writing "hey, now we’ll be okay" in psycho. at least the songs turned out decent? but there's nothing i regret more than working on so many songs for album when I was considering leaving because i only burnt myself out even more writing for the solo album i released shortly after.

but if I picked out of the entire discography i'm erasing from.mirrorworld. love bomb was an annoyingly persistent earworm and the light inside of me dims ever so slightly every time i hear the intro."

would you rather never dance again or never write/produce music again?

"making me pick is fucked up. i rarely like anything, and i have to pick one to never do again? honestly, each has its pros or cons. there's a lot to consider as well. if i give up dancing, am i just standing on stage during myworld performances? am i essentially going to only release ballads for my solos? if i give up songwriting and producing, that could be even worse. I would hate to have signed a contract and release music i cannot connect with at all, but i'll easily never write or produce again. i'm more known for writing and producing than dancing, and i think that's a problem. dancing is my first love above anything and anyone else and it's the sole reason why i am in the position i am today. i cannot give it up, it means too much to me. i need to take a long break from writing and producing anyway."
