Dating connor headcanons

He's so sweet, dear God.

Ask for anything and he'd do it for you.

There will be moments where you're like, "Honey, you didn't actually have to do that. i was gonna do that in just a moment"

Sometimes you worry, he thinks he still needs to surve because of it. Eventually, you told him you felt bad about him doing everything for you and how you worry he still feels rhe need to be a machine and just goes, "I know I don't have to. I choose to." You get a little confused, and he continues."I want to help you. I can stop if you don't like it?"

After you start dating, he definitely asks Hank about advice a lot.

"Hank, how does one... swoon a girl?"

"Hank, what do people look for in a relationship?"

"How do you go about pleasuring someone?"

Dear lord poor Hank.

Eventually, connor downloads some programs to help him better understand the art or romance. To say he's bad at it, he understands the basics, and of corse he loves you, but it all feels a bit... stiff. He doesn't quite get it yet. He's too formal. He's so used to his profession making things very cut and dry, straightforward. He needs to relax .

Just let him adjust. He'll pick up on it.

He loves trying new things with you. He has so many date ideas. Ice skating, amusement parks, paint ball (rip fr), crafting

He thought it'd be fun to take you on a paint ball date, and you lost instantly. In hindsight, you both realized that was a bad idea. He was programed to hunt deviants after all. With the athletic and shooting skills he's equipped with you walked out coated in paint and welts for days

It's OK, though. He apologized profusely and took care of all your wounds with so much love. Made sure your baths were at the perfect temperature, always had ice ready, creams on the ready dude was practically your stay at home nurse, lol. You insisted you were fine, but he wouldn't back down.

Ever sense deviancey he's started alot of new hobbies. Painting, ceramics, cooking, gardening. From each new hobby, he gifts you little crafts. Romantic paintings, mugs, flowers, your favorite meals. And when ever he picks up a new hobby you make sure to buy him what ever supplies he needs.

He does so much for you, you love to give back.

He loves receiving hugs and kisses oml.

A hug from behind will make him melt, or a kiss on the jaw can make him weaken at the knees, he loves physicality.

He especially loves those nights where you both are wrapped in cozy blankets, and one of you is lying on top of the other. It'll turn him into mush. He feels so happy

He trusts you so much

I hate to say it, but he often worries he's not a good enough partner because his deminor is so... stiff, even compared to other androids. When he eventually expressed this concern, you admitted you worried the same thing about yourself.

He was extremely baffled as to why, and you, of course, explained. He's so perfect and caring. He's always doing tasks for you and making things for you. You often felt you couldn't keep up and return the generosity the way he did.

When you told him you thought of him as perfect, it made him extremely flustered.

Of corse, he reassured you how great of a partner you were. So caring and supportive of his endeavors, always making sure he's alright, he just felt so much trust.

Ug, the relief you both felt.

He'd definitely wanna get a dog with you. When you expressed you wanted one, he got very enthusiastic at the idea. Lots of resurch into different breeds.

One day, you came home to a spreadsheet of dog breeds and all their stats. It was overwhelming.

Eventually, you two compromised and got something like a staffy. (Or whatever you want ofc)

He's very protective of you. Sometimes, he is a little overprotective. If he has the sense someone hitting on you, he'd slide up so fast and passively try to scre that person off. There have been a few moments where he misidentified someone just talking to you with flirting. You had to explain the situation to him and he felt bad afterward. You appreciate the thought, though. You really do.

Enough about what he does for you. We need to go back to what he like you doing for him. Cause he does so much

You looked into engineering to help with small repairs. You don't exactly have the brains of a cyberlife engineer, but you can fix small bugs and replace any damaged parts.

One day, he came back from a mission, a few dents, a shot leg. Nothing to critical but still concerning.

"Oh god, are you alright?"

"Just a few minor injuries. I can go in for repairs tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? Sweet heart, your shot."

"I can't feel pain, remember? I'm fine, I promise."

You insist on helping out and he accepts. He hasn't admitted it yet but he loves the care you put into repairs.

You'd roll up the sleeve of his pants and carefully remove the white plastic shell, patiently fix any broken wires. Tenderly clean the thirium leaks, replace the plastic with a new, not shot one. And carefully buff out any dents he had.

You somehow managed to get your hands on a few bags on thirium, so you replaced whatever he bleed.

You taking care of him like this always makes him blush. The amount of attention to detail and care you had was very admirable.

He'd always kiss you afterward.

He loves to dance with you. If you plan a date to somewhere nice and secluded and play some music... dear Lord, he's gonna be love sick. Slow dancing, whether you're good at it or not, makes him so happy. He'll absolutely teach you if you can't, it'd be so romantic.

He installed a warming system in his body after starting the relationship with you

One night, you came home freezing, and you threw on a heated blanket, trying to warm up. And he got an idea

A few weeks pass, and a snow storm blows over detroit. You are about to grab the heated blanket again, but you can't find it. You opted for grabbing a normal one and cuddling with connor instead. Suddenly, the body below you starts to warm up.

"Do you like it? I recently installed a heating function to properly warm you if you needed."

He likes to call you pet names every now and then.

At first the practice was confusing to him. He was aware of the practice and why people did it, on a technical sense, but to have it actually happen to him felt a little strange at first.

He quickly grew to love all the little pet names you gave him

He really likes sweet heart, sweetness, honey, prince charming, etc.

Eventually he started giving you pet names as well

The same ones you call him mostly. Though he definitely got experimental and called you a bunch of weird ones for a few weeks.

Sexual

Oh, the possibilities of a robot lover

Before we start with that, his introduction to a sexual relationship. It's not what he was built for, but he goes into shops to get some upgrades ;)

He's switchy for sure.

He can dom if you want him to and he'd happy to ablige.

Boy, is he good at intimidation. With all that interrogation software, he can be as mean as you want him to be.

He really likes to pin you down.

And tease you. Dear God he loves to tease you rip fr.

You can be tied up, and he's graising your skin and talking about all the things he wants to do to you, getting you riled up and flustered is probably the most rewarding thing.

He'll make you beg after teasing for sure. Don't worry, he's not too cruel about it unless you want him to be.

Sub connor

He loves to be tied up and pinned down, too.

Hand cuffs, with his own tie, belts. The more creative you get it excites him.

And make him beg. Don't be too harsh with him, but he loves the desperate feeling

Praising. Praise him, PLEASE. It'll make him a mess.

Tell him he's a good boy, tell him he's so beautiful, tell him what a good job he's doing just... ug.

Every now and then I feel like he'd like edging.

Certainly not something he frequents and prefers not to, but on rare occasions, he'll suggest that he wants to do edging. Give him all the kisses when you're done.

He hates to admit it but he likes getting a little steamy at work.

He knows not to do it to frequently, and avoids the frequent practice

But on occasion, he allows it, and when he does, he's really into it.

Seeking off into bathrooms, janitorial closets, exchanging touches under desks. The desperate and secretness of it all excites him

And roleplay. He's very into role play.

Cop and criminal (of corse), massage therapist and client, professor and student, strangers

He likes giving and receiving roles for all of them.

Though if he's the sub, he can be bad at staying in character. He'll put up a convincing act until you get him hot and bothered. The closer he gets the role slips from him lol

Now, let's finally explore all the updates he's gotten.

His dick definitely moves on its own. Like one of those sex toys that thrusts inside of you.

And it vibrates. What doesn't vibrate, really? His fingers, palms, tongue

All sorts of new mobility features in his hips to get the smoothest movement.

Ok, I got this idea, and I feel like I can leave it out, but if you request it, he'd look into aphrodisiac dispensers in his mouth so when you swap spit, kisses can lull yiu further into lust.

Vil Schoenheit x Idia Shroud

No one at first believed or understood just HOW those two got together.

I mean, THE Vil Schoenheit, a famous model and actor, with a huge fan base and with products stamped by his face dating Idia? The nerd otaku dude who doesn't leave his room, like, ever?

Some were even concerned if Vil was under some form of course or potion effect, which he responded by an offended gasp.

"Do you think so lowly of me that I would ever fall for a curse like that? Dear Seven, you really underestimate me and Idia, don't you?"

The way they got together is... A rather uncommon one. Idia found Vil doing an advertisement for a game he really liked, and he got a tiny celebrity crush.

Ortho insisted Idia shoot his shot, because the chances of a parasocial relationship becoming unhealthy to someone are higher when there are no sort of communication between parties.

Idia went through the toughest boss fight in his life, which was pressing the send button. That felt like such a normie problem, he almost gave up... Until Ortho pressed for him. Great. This action will affect the main game forever.

Vil was... Low key endeared by the message. It was bold and talked in a lingo he isn't used to seeing. He felt generous enough to give some time to this gloomy samurai person.

They didn't even realized they were so close together until Ortho went thanking Vil for making his big brother so happy.

Cue to Idia's door being kicked open and Idia cowering in his chair almost crying in fear as Vil scolded him about not going to talk to him directly.

They became an odd pair after that. Vil makes sure Idia gets his needs taken, including touching some grass (much to his dismay).

And Idia teaches Vil about technology methods to make his career better. (He doesn't mention about the Vil x reader fanfic tab on his tablet though)

Vil found it obvious how Idia was head over heels for him, but he felt oddly calm about this. It didn't feel like other people crushing on him, where he needed to step on eggshells to maintain this pristine image.

Idia seemed to find him "having max charisma and appearance stats" even when he was a total mess, in his eyes.

It was a new thing for him, letting himself show his "uglier" side to someone, and not being the perfect Vil Schoenheit. And Idia seemed to not care in the slightest, although he did get flustered a lot whenever Vil shared a picture with his hair down. Vil learned from Idia's ling that that was "simp behaviour".

Idia... He never had so much attention from someone so different in his life. And for once, it didn't scare him. Actually, when Vil complimented him for showing up to class, he felt oddly proud and confident.

Ofc Vil was the one to confess first. I mean, Idia was going through the 19th mental breakdown over how to confess at that point, and Ortho was NOT a reliable source of advice on the matter.

Ortho is their biggest supporter, and says that Vil needs to take good care of his big brother, since he is very fragile and also very scared.

Rook was actually very supportive of Vil's choice. He is the biggest Vil fan, but he puts his dear Roi du poison's happiness over his. And to be fair... Their dynamic is enticing. It's unique. A beautiful form of art on itself!

Others were very much confused but grew used to it.

An odd pair, sure, but who said love couldn't be odd?

Their favorite pastime together is casual dates at Idia's room. Where Idia geeks about how this super rare character he summoned had such OP skills that his team two shot the boss, all awhile Vil paints his nails so they have matching colours.

Don't ask Idia why he is showing up to class so much, or he will run away and hide in his room. He is trying! He even wore his uniform 2 times this week!!

They are so silly, I think I got carried away lol. Hope you enjoy this!!

Mamuta (Monster)

(I love the mamuta, and I love how evil the captains are to them. They aren't aggressive at all, and even when you piss them off they don't even hurt pikmin! Just plant them! I interpreted them as benevolent fey- although they canonically lay eggs in the game- and kept them at their original size. I also incorporated the fact that these sweethearts have a tendency to get killed!)

Mamuta are simple, kindhearted fey who tend to the undergrowth of forests, counting clovers, planting flowers, and choosing seedlings to care for until they become great trees. They treat all plant life with love and care, and even when incensed, choose only to quell plant enemies rather than kill them. A mamuta typically chooses a field or clearing about 60ft in diameter as its territory- such a clearing flourishes under its care.

Mamuta have an odd quirk- they are fascinated by rare magical and technological items, and often keep them somewhere on their person or buried in the soil. This, unfortunately, has led amateur treasure hunters to target them for their goods. Mamuta will fight with surprising strength for a creature so small, but still rarely win these conflicts against armed humanoids, leaving their small, delicate plants without a protector.

Mamuta are said to taste like chicken-of-the-woods, and it is believed by scholars of the natural world that they represent the symbiotic relationship between plants and fungi, as well as natural processes growing over and burying items left in the woods.

A NG spellcaster level 7 or higher with the Improved Familiar feat may take a mamuta as a familiar.

This small brown creature has a pair of long arms extending from its torso, and no head- only a pair of soulful eyes buried in its chest.

Hey, now that the new chapter is out for the public, I feel like I need to comment!

Well, like I said on Patreon already, I absolutely LOVE the last chapter (and the epilogue too).

The kiss on the hand was just... ah, I love Hades so much! And I enjoyed the whole trial in general.

One of my favorite things though was the amount of reactions and answers to Demeter you gave us. It really allows to fully RP our character as we wish! In my case for example, my MC was always close to Demeter, and only in the Underworld he realized that he needs the freedom. But even then, he always cared about his mother. But when she broke his trust by organizing that kidnapping... well, the entire relationship came tumbling down, and as of now he doesn't even want to speak with her anymore, at least for a while. I'm very grateful for that option!

Last thing is something more gameplay related I wanted to ask - when we get to decide how the MC occupies their time on Olympus in - I believe - the second to last chapter (like tending to Demeter's gardens etc), would you consider making it so whatever we pick there increases one of the stats a little bit? In my playthrough I was in that frustrating situation where I was one point short of being able to actually negotiate stuff with Zeus (all three stats that can be relevant during the trial were too low in my case, but one of them was a single point short is what I mean). Now, I didn't need to negotiate since my MC wanted to stay full time in the underworld and ate the fruit, so it was not an "issue", but it would have been in a different scenario. I'm asking for this mostly because the majority of previous stat-increase choices are very "RP based" and so it would be a shame to pick something that wouldn't be in character. But on the other hand, that one last choice could be like a "last emergency increase" before the climax of the game, in a way?

Of course, if you don't wish to implement that, it's fine! It's just something I thought about when playing that chapter!

Anyway, congratulations on finishing the book, and good luck with the adjustments and all the work you still need to do on it!

Hey, thanks so much for all this. I'm glad you enjoyed the various possibilities with Demeter; I really do want people to be able to run the gamut with responses to her, because I think there are lots of ways to interpret her actions.

As for the stats thing, that would be totally fair, but as it happens I'm designing skill stats out of the game in editing, so the point turns out to be a tad moot (still a good suggestion, though, and thank you.)

Weekly Update - Mar 30, 2024

Hello Tumblr people! It’s almost been a week since I’ve revived High School Revenge and released chapter 3, so I think it’s time for an update. All Weekly Updates will come out on Saturdays, as long as there isn't an emergency or something, so I hope you'll all be happy with that.

So, let’s start with the most important news, I’ve already started working on chapter 4. For most of these week I’ve worked on figuring out how to do a random event based mechanic. The way I want chapter 4 and most of the chapters that follow to work is that players will get to choose what they want to do every week (for example work on their skills, attend a special event they discovered before, get a new ally, etc.), after witnessing the effects of their choice, they will also get a random event (for example, MC stumbles into two targets talking something private, random target does something interesting and you're present, etc.). The random event can be a relationship milestone event (for reaching a certain relationship level with a character), a hobby event (a significant moment for a club due to skill increase), or a pure random scene that has nothing to do with previous choices.

During these weeks you can also send Burt on stalking missions. The first thing he will do is build profiles for the targets, which will appear as special pages in the stat screen with information about the targets. Using the special Burt portfolio you can get hints as to what the targets like and dislike, allowing you to choose better options in dialogue options that they might like more. Once Burt’s built a profile for someone, he can then stalk them to start getting clues that can be used in a revenge plan.

Right now chapter 4 has 4k words written, as I’ve only had time to write one random event where you get to play 2 truths 1 lie with Isaac, Cecily, Michael, and Vivian. Finishing this chapter is going to take a while, considering how many events I’ll have to write, but I hope the result will be worth it.

I also have a to do list now of things I want to change to the first three chapters, but I’ll start working on those next week. I’ll also probably release the updated versions of the old chapters on Patreon first, so those will come one month later here.

Skyrim Ideas

I've been playing Skyrim for a while (on Switch) and theres some stuff that would be nice to see. I am no modder (yet) but I wouldn't be crranky to see these in the game as a mod (or Switch DLC (we get nothing (not even the new DLC)))

Relationship Add-on

Family Meal

Whilst I don't care much about game relationships there's nothing with the marrige mechanich. There's stat boosts but Roleplay-wise not much exept asking to make food, sleeping boost and extra income .

Something I would like to see is having dinner together. When your home from adventuring you can ask to have a meal together at a table. You can go up to your spouse and say "Let's have a meal together." then what time you would like to have it at. You can also choose to make the meal yourself by "I'll make the meal myself". This will give you a quest 'Prepare 3 meals'. Mainly because I also feel like the baking mechanic isn't used much. If you don't have cooking ingredients you can say "I can't make the meal" then your spouse will take-over.

I'll be using the lovely Scouts-Many-Marshes

Scouts-Many-Marshes-"Is there anything you need, Dearest?/ You want to have a meal together, my love? That sounds like a great idea./ You'll cook. Why you're spoiling me, love. Very well I'll get the table set when your ready. <I'll prepare the table. When would you like it?/ Sounds great. You just rest up, my dear.><Thats okay, dear. I'll do the rest you rest up.>"

When the set time comes or if you've prepared the meal, your family will sit at the main table of the house. Having a meal together will give you major stat boosts and give you unique dilogue. Your spouse and kids will talk amongst you or your spouse will talk to you if you have no kids.

You can also ask your Personal Steward to set up a meal for your family. And if you have 1 kid or less you can ask them to join you with "You can join us" if you would like.

I'll be using the legend herself Lydia

Lydia-"Long life to you, my Thane/ You would like to have a meal? That sounds great, sir./ It would be my honor sir. <What time would you like it?>/ How nice. That will be a great surprise for them. I'll gather everyone at the table when you're ready.<Alright, I'll make the preperations. You rest up sir.><That's fine, I'll take it from here.>"

Having a meal will provide boosts to the player. The 'Family Meal' will give you a boost to all skills for 15 hours along with extra benifits depending on what food was prepared.

You will also have dialouge conversations between the table. These dialogues will come up at random amongst the table. They can all be said with eachother such as Spouse dialogue can apear in all the other dialogues and the kids dialouge can appear in the Steward dialouge. You can end the meal just by standing up after 1 min realtime. Then just leave the home and everyone will go back to their normal schedule.

"This was a great idea, dearest. Please come home safe soon so that we can do this again."

"Dearest, I'll be honsest. I've had lots of sleepless night worrowing about you and your adventures. Somedays i see the Courier in hopes its a message from you. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. I'm happy about your adventures and helping others. Thats why I fell for you. But please, if you ever feel like enough is enough. Come home."

(If joined Winterhold College) "I've heard your learning new magic. How interesting. Perhaps you can put on a show after this."

(If joined Dark Brotherhood) "Theres rumour going around latly that The Dark Brotherhood is back. Please stay safe. I worry you might have made some enimies without knowing."

(In a built house) "I love what you did to the place. I can tell you put in a lot of effort into this place. I know we'll live happily here."

(Scout-Many-Marshes Unique) "I love it here, dearest. I do admit, I miss the other back at the docks. I hope they're doing fine without me. Would you mind seeing how they're doing for me if you're going pass. I would visit myself but it was hard enough getting out. Doubt they'll let me in.

With kid(s) (SMM= Scouts-Many-Marshes or spouse) (K1, (K2)= Kid 1, (Kid 2)) If you have 2 kids they'll alternate at random.

K1 "Father/Mother have you faced any dragons yet? Were they big and scary? I don't think they'll be for you."

I finally watched the jdrama Eye Love You with Chae Jong Hyeop. It was an interesting watch for quite a few reasons, especially as a Cherry Magic fan.

It's an office romance with the lead having mind-reading ability with Omoinotake doing the theme song. The bright colors, the lack of "bad guys," conflict arising basically from everyone caring too much, side characters that are honest, true and lovable and mythology that is hand wavy, but full of heart (although this one could have been a tad bit better lamp-shaded IMO)

Sound familiar?

It's a Japanese drama with a popular Korean drama lead where they indulge and revel in the cultural differences in ways that are silly - like the female lead learning about what noona meant through coworkers kdrama watching and mistakenly thinking he was thinking of her in that way (which he wasn't) and hysterical - like him immediately asking her what her first name is and calling her by it when they first meet outside of the office context and then when finding out she is the CEO continuing to be his charming, familiar self and making her have an emotional meltdown over it because she both was completely embarrassed by it, but also loved everything about how open and disarming he is. (And I did too). I love that she is interested in him from the start because he is the first person she's met since she's gotten her abilities that she actually can't understand his thoughts (he thinks in Korean).

Chae Jong Hyeop is fabulous in it, as he always is when I watch him in something. He stole the show in Nevertheless (sorry, Song Kang) and I loved him in the Witch's Diner. It just reminds me I keep meaning to watch more of his stuff. Also superficially, he's charming and handsome and tall and makes the female lead look tiny and I am not usually into height difference at all but it works for these two a whole bunch. Her fantasy dream sequence really reminds us that he is very capable of being more than a smiley puppy and someone needs to give him a role like that stat. Bonus that it's just fun to me to listen to him speak in Japanese after being used to listening to him speak Korean. He's clearly really good at the language so it's great he got to use his skills for this.

Some of the most touching scenes in this drama are with the female leads father and her best friend. This is a show about her finding love, yes, but all the relationships matter and are heart-warming.

It probably has the best second male lead I've seen (maybe after Chae Jong Hyeop's character in Nevertheless haha). The care and consideration the two supposed rivals show for each other after the comedy of it is played out is nice. The circumstance itself is enough to create conflict so people don't have to be jealous assholes about it. I really enjoyed Hanaoka enough to be interested in seeing something else that actor is in.

The mythology could have been tweaked a little. There's something significant most of the characters believe and it is never clear to me why they all believed it and never questioned it in the first place. But I downed all these in a few days because ultimately it was a really fun watch with lots of good feelings.

If you are a jdrama and a kdrama fan, it's also a delight to see a nice little hybrid of the things I personally enjoy in both being thread together into one story.

It was definitely worth the watch.

my unedited annotations for books four and five (SPOILERS AHEAD):

BOOK FOUR

been too busy to read for the past few days but I'm super excited to dive back into this - that being said, I'm still scared of this book ending

and so we return to the past!!

okay so Xie Lian's already been banished? ngl I was kind of hoping to see the actual banishment because I'm still confused as to why exactly he was banished??

also it's weird because the Xie Lian of the past is vastly different from present him but you can also very clearly see how he became the way he is today

ah yes now we know exactly where Xie Lian's poison-cooking-specialty originates from lol

okay Mu Qing is being kind of a dick in leaving Xie Lian but also he's got a valid point, and I kinda sympathise with him?

oh fuck me it's Hua Cheng?? I knew he would be in this book somehow!!

“I want to protect them.” - no but this is his unfulfilled wish that ties him to the mortal realm?? like he just wants to protect Xie Lian, that's so pure and wow I'm actually going to start crying now

I hope one day to find someone who loves me as much as Hua Cheng loves Xie Lian, even if its just in a platonic way

‘“If you remain forcibly, you won’t be able to rest in peace,” Xie Lian said.

The nameless ghost didn’t seem to care. “I pray to never rest in peace.”’

no but this whole scene with Xie Lian and little ghost Hua Cheng is like the foundation of their current relationship - Hua Cheng protecting Xie Lian without ever speaking a word to him of it, suffering to keep his heart to himself

so Hua Cheng died in the war, that makes sense

wait what?? Xie Lian actually cooked something edible?? maybe his cooking skills are a plot device after all

oh so this is when Feng Xin gets all wifed up

no but you really feel the second-hand embarassment when Xie Lian is caught trying to rob someone, like he's really fallen from that gracious and honorable Crown Prince of the past

yo someone help this boy, he is literally having multiple panic attacks and has very severe PTSD and also probably depression, like boy needs some therapy stat

but tbf, that's all characters in every mxtx adaptation rip

okay but ghost fire Hua Cheng is genuinely adorable

oh so these are the thirty-three heavenly officials Hua Cheng becomes famous for killing - of course his reason for doing so was Xie Lian! I should have realised that sooner considering everything Hua Cheng does is for Xie Lian

“But, this hand had reached out too late.”

I think White No-Face's obsession with Xie Lian is because he is the Crown Prince of Wuyong who suffered a terrible fate and he wants Xie Lian to suffer likewise and join him so he won't be alone anymore

the one instance where Feng Xin and Mu Qing are actually getting along and it's Xie Lian who drives them apart, how ironic - I keep trying to make myself like Mu Qing and like, I understand why he does what he does but I still don't like him - Feng Xin though is my boi

I'm beginning to understand why book four is the most tragic and hardest-to-read section in the whole book

no but it makes sense?? killing makes you immune to the human face disease

oh fuck no I think I know what's about to happen

Xie Lian...what are they doing to you

fuck me but he is without a doubt the character with the most tragic backstory ever to exist

SOMEBODY FUCKING SAVE HIM

how painful this must be for Hua Cheng too seeing the love of his life bear so much pain and be unable to do anything about it

Xie Lian you need to tell Feng Xin what happened to you or you're going to lose him too

“It’s not like I’m a god, can’t I be angry? Can’t I hate?”

I understand why Feng Xin leaves but also fuck you Feng Xin! can't you see how much torment your best friend is in? can't you see that he's too broken to be left alone

wait the King and Queen have actually hanged themselves?

no okay this is too fucking much don't y'all leave Xie Lian alone like this, he doesn't deserve to be tormented like thus, he doesn't deserve any of this

Ruoye!! and now I understand what Xie Lian meant when he talked about forging his spiritual device with Pei Ming - I knew it would be tragic but never this tragic

he's on the verge of becoming the white-faced calamity isn't he?

Hua Cheng to the rescue!! and now I understand all the fan art of Hua Cheng in a smiling face mask

or maybe not Hua Cheng to the rescue? curiouser and curiouser

Xie Lian has definitely got something up his sleeve as always but it still hurts to watch him be so broken and in pain

and now we have the story behind the bamboo hat

Hua Cheng!!

ahh why do they both go through so much pain?? and because they're soulmates they feel each other's pain too - my heart -

I read a post that said all that happens to Xie Lian makes him “desensitised” to everything and that's exactly what it is - he bears so much pain and suffering and humiliation in such a short span of time that eight hundred years later present day Xie Lian just does not give a fuck about anything anymore, like he's reached the lowest it is posible to ever go and can go no lower and like my heart is in pieces for him but at the same time he's such a fucking icon

the truth behind his second banishment

and thus we have present day Xie Lian in all his adorableness, except now we know his full story

the only big mystery left now is his third ascension I think

now onto book five as we return to Mount Tongl'u

BOOK FIVE

I don't this even needs to be said but I loathe White No-Face with every inch of my being okay

no but its actually hilarious that Hua Cheng carved a inhumanly big statue of Xie Lian out of a literal mountain, like my man is whipped

the real question is why is Hua Cheng a ghost king and not a world-famous artist and sculptor?? like he should have his own museum and not be running the ghost version of las vegas lol

it's also hilarious how though all the gods supposedly find Xie Lian strange they're all still willing to do whatever he says, like Quan Yizhen and even Pei Ming

haha I knew Pei Ming totally ships it

its only been like a few hours since Hua Cheng and Xie Lian properly kissed with no pretensions (and they haven't even properly confessed their love yet - though they don't really need to to be honest lol) but I'm absolutely living for these casual displays of love, like Hua Cheng giving Xie Lian a forehead kiss makes me feel so warm and happy

I was wondering when Shi Quingxan would show up again - ngl, was not expecting this reunion though

absolutely love the fact that Xie Lian can quite easily kiss Hua Cheng in front of everyone when it's a high-stakes situation but gets flustered by kissing his cheek when they're completely alone, Xie Lian is just too adorable

Jun Wu is White No-Face?? what the fuck....

I thought Jun Wu was kind of sus but not to this extent

no I don't want Yin Yu to die, he's genuinely one of my faves and deserves so much better than he got

come on Xie Lian, you're so good at sussing out every other gods mysteries but you can't even figure out all Hua Cheng has done for you? you're so fucking obtuse at times

Hua Cheng thinking that Xie Lian was going to stab himself again - my heart - and then being reminded of when Xie Lian was stabbed by a hundred swords but Xie Lian just laughing it off - ahhh why did they have to go through so much pain

I think Feng Xin is slowly coming to the understand the depth of trust and love and mutual respect that is Hua Cheng and Xie Lian's relationship - he's definitely not against it now at the very least

also glad we're finally getting some character growth from Mu Qing, after 800 years

so this is the truth of Mu Qing and honestly, I can't really say I dislike him so much anymore, like I understand where he's coming from

he's still a dumbass for not realising that Xie Lian genuinely did want to be friends all this time though, but then again, if I met someone as good as Xie Lian I would be a little skeptical too lol

this whole scene is low-key hilarious, they're both dumbasses

scratch that, all three of them - Xie Lian, Mu Qing and Feng Xin - they're all dumbasses

‘Xie Lian responded, “IF THEIR ENTIRE FAMILIES ALL LOOK LIKE THAT, YOU SURE YOU WANT TO FUCK THEM??”’- I'm crying

okay now I'm starting to understand where all the shipping of Feng Xin and Mu Qing comes from, this whole bit with Feng Xin carrying Mu Qing and them bickering is kind of adorable

Mu Qing and Feng Xin definitely give the vibe of Xie Lian's brothers who don't really approve of Xie Lian's boyf in the first place but still don't want him to be harmed for the sake of Xie Lian - I actually love their friendship okay, however much history they have between them all

and now we get the rest of Hua Cheng's story!! I'm so ready for this

no fucking way - so Hua Cheng could have been a god??

he definitely chose the ghost life for the aesthetic lol

I love the trope when couples fight together as a team, like all the wordless communication and synchronisation

I love how every little story arc is getting some sort of resolution as we near the end

‘Hua Cheng waited for him for over eight hundred years, so what did it matter if he waited for Hua Cheng for another eight hundred more? It could be a thousand years, ten thousand years, and he would still wait, and continue to wait.’

‘A smile hung on Xie Lian’s face, thinking, he wasn’t the only one who had fallen.’ - but I'm also bawling

‘Last time, they spent eight hundred years running towards each other. This time, it only took an instant to fall into each other’s embrace.’

final chapter let's go!! but also I don't want this to end

I'm screaming - this definitely means Hua Cheng and Xie Lian have already slept together lol - and Feng Xin and Mu Qing are just there like ‘we really didn't need to know that’

Jace was born in Covington, I haven't delved much into his family as I don't know if siblings could be future connections here! He was super smart and calculated, even as a kid. In high school he was one of those kids who were top of his class, captain of the lacrosse team, popular amongst his friends etc

Moved away and studied law in college, and then at Yale. He got a job at a pretty prestigious law firm - think Harvey Specter vibes from Suits. He LOVES the rush of being in court, loves calling people out on their bullshit. He's particularly skilled at hiding things and making them disappear. And he loves getting paid a shit ton of money to do that for important clients

Although he moved away to a big city, Jace still loved his hometown and would visit his parents/family often. It was on one of these trips where he met his future wife. They had an incrediiiiiible wedding, but once they were married, his wife started pressuring him to move home and start a family. At the time he was still living away, and came to Covington once a week or every two weeks and his wife wanted them to settle down.

For a short while he refused, not wanting to give up the high life of being a corporate lawyer to the big guys, but eventually he gave in and moved back to Covington.

The sacrifice didn't save his marriage, and they divorced. She wanted a family, he realised he didn't want to have children of his own. He decided to stay in Covington and commute to his office in Atlanta

He's the kind of lawyer who avoids answering questions, won't give any info even if he had a gun to his head. He prides himself on taking the dirty jobs no one else wants because he knows he can get the job done, and done well. He doesn't care much for what other people think of him, because as far as he's concerned, he works damn hard and loves what he does.

He's vowed to never marry again, it was too messy the first time round after he opened up his heart and it ended horribly

Like Paul Heyman said, “Yeah you can admire his work all you want, but I’ll give you my take on it since you keep on yelling out ‘my boy’—three people died in that house that night, three. Three people died in that house that night, only one person had the choice behind it. The other two didn’t have a choice to die. So if that’s your boy, fuck you. So a talent? Remarkable. As a human being? I don’t care about CTE, I don’t care what the reasons are Nancy and Daniel had no option, he did. Fuck him.”

He ducktaped Nancy, broke her back over his knee and strangled her. he brutalized her. Then he drugged Daniel and suffocated him. Whatever happened between Chris and Nancy ended violently. There was a history of an abusive relationship. Yes there were drugs, yes, there was CTE, but Sandra starts and stops a story from years earlier where Benoit hurt Nancy and says “out of respect for his surviving kids, I’ll stop.” There was a pattern of abuse. There was an existing pattern of behavior with Benoit and domestic violence. Grunge was over there a number of times to sort things out. There was obviously a lot of this information that was withheld. The documentary also glossed over key details, like Chris taking out an insurance policy on Nancy and Daniel a month earlier. It was planned & he fully intended to go to Vengeance and Raw had he not heard the cops were coming. My opinion on what caused it is Nancy has had enough and threatened to leave and take Daniel away and that’s what caused this tragedy.

He didn’t snap or lose his mind. He premeditated the murders and made sure his son wouldn’t suffer. Sounds to me like a Familicide. This wasn’t a CTE/drug/alcohol fueled, spontaneous rage fit where he regretted it afterward. This was pre-meditated. He planted a knife under Daniel’s bed. He planted Bibles by their dead bodies. Left messages for everyone to find the bodies. He googled specific Bible passages and the quickest way to snap your neck. He planned this to happen

No matter how much you loved him as a wrestler or how much you admire his work, murdering your wife and son disqualifies you from ever entering the Hall Of Fame. It grinds my gears that every year, some female star gets her parade rained on because the HoF is some hallowed achievement that also means nothing by the people campaigning for a domestic abusing murderer to be inducted in their place. It’s honestly the most disgusting part of being a wrestling fan.

It's bad enough there are psychotic fans who want him to be in the Hall Of Fame. Now they want there to be a movie made about him?

We don't need a movie glorifying the child murdering sack of shit.

This is stupid. Look at what happened after Dahmer on Netflix. People are still humanizing him to this day due to the show. All this will do is give Benoit defenders more shit to whitewash him with.

Chris Benoit does not deserve any more acknowledgment or recognition. Regardless of his past accomplishments, his actions were evil, and he's a monster. He doesn't deserve the attention anymore.

So he led the charge in this, assuming a leadership role Keyleth knows he would have rather avoided. Convinced the others this was a worthwhile endeavor. Appealed to Vax and Scanlan and Grog’s (and Pike’s) love of pranks and mischief, nudged them towards roles in the heist they would all enjoy the most. He gave Keyleth the position of lookout so she wouldn’t have to get her hands dirty if this whole debacle went tits up. Didn’t ask Vex to shield him, just to watch the machine and report back to him on what it was doing. He’d taken on the bulk of the responsibility himself, the bulk of the work, but he’d done it willingly for the happiness of a friend.

Percy’s not as bad a man as he believes he is, Keyleth thinks. Meanders another loop around the arcade. Given to anger, yes; haunted by things he refuses to speak of, sure. But bad men don’t lie awake at night worrying if they’re bad. Bad men don’t fix their best friend’s car free of charge and teach her how to handle the issue herself if she needs to.

Bad men don’t pop out of the guts of a claw machine with glasses knocked askew, glancing up at the girl they admire and handing her a token with a half-grunted “Try it now” as they hold together some monstrous amalgamation of wiring and circuitry only they can understand.

(Placing under a cut because when I said "DVD commentary" I, uh. Wasn't fuckin' kidding)

So when I started writing Secret I knew that I wanted to focus on aspects of Percy and Vex's characters that wouldn't come up in idle conversation. Since neither of them are prone to introspection while actively focusing on a task, it evolved to Keyleth being the one to observe their interactions from afar, and given her high wisdom stats mechanically, it gave me a way to delve into character intricacies that sometimes aren't explicitly laid out in fic.

I knew going in that I wanted to focus on two things in Percy's character. One: the idea that he defends and protects those he loves by arming them rather than interposing himself; and two, which I believe is the crux of Percy's character: "bad men don't lie awake at night wondering if they're bad." For Vex, I wanted to juxtapose her outward confidence and capability with the small part of her that was a child in an emotionally neglectful, if not outright abusive, parental relationship, because that explains a lot of her behavior in most aspects of her life.

For Percy, the part with fixing Keyleth's car was important to include in my mind, because it's both a real world example of something he would do and a perfect prelude to the claw machine heist shenanigans he winds up inciting in the fic (also, breaking into a machine to fix it and make it fair rather than just... steal the toy is such a Percy thing to me -- he wants to win, but only if it's enough of a victory to rub it in somebody's smug face). In both instances, two people he cares about very deeply are in a bind. In both instances, he has more of the know-how to address the issue than they do. However, it's clear that Percy has issues with autonomy and is very, very concerned with chivalry and respect and other customs of court that I'm sure he was steeped in growing up, so his default is to address the immediate issue but arm his loved ones with the knowledge they need to get themselves out of said issue. For Keyleth, that's fixing her car and showing her exactly how he did it so she can do it herself. For Vex, it's fixing the machine so she can win the toy through her own skill, because he knows she's capable and intelligent but also knows her father's disapproval means she questions her own worth and capability at times.

And, going along with that, Percy is an excellent leader -- his plans are sometimes... well (lookin' at you, murdering Draconians to piss off Vorugal), but despite his distaste for it, he's good at knowing where people are best used and placing them in those positions. He might not like leadership, and he might defer to the group more often than not, but he is good at it, and I think he'd be more than willing to step into the role if it benefited Vex or Keyleth (but especially Vex).

As far as the second bit of focus on Percy's character goes, I think the quote is pretty self explanatory. "Bad men don't lie awake at night wondering if they're bad." This is the line I constantly go back to when trying to describe Percy's character -- he's done some awful things, he has great capability for cruelty and violence, but he acknowledges those things about himself and shoulders his flaws, though he obviously wants to be redeemed in some way (Osysa's speech in TLOVM and his own admission of "I don't want to die who I am. I would like to live long enough to be someone else" prove this point). Percy has a conscience, and for that reason he wrestles with the darkness in himself and hates it as much as he owns his own failings and commits to his mistakes. I wanted that to come up in this fic, and it really felt organic for it to occur in this moment where Keyleth's watching him and recalling the things he does for the people he cares about -- he has issues, yes, but it's the little things like this that prove he isn't a bad man. Just a damaged one.

For Vex, I knew I needed an inciting incident to kick off the claw machine heist, and the image of a little Trinket plush in a skill game would not leave me. Vex likes material things in canon but they feed in to her years of starvation and barely scraping by as a child/young adult; the only way she would be this drawn to a cheap toy is if she either wanted one badly as a child and never got it or she had one and was forced to leave it behind. My personal headcanon is that it was her favorite toy as a child, one of the very few things Elaina was ever able to buy her children to play with, and Vex was forced by Syldor to leave it behind when he took her and Vax to live with him (stuffed toys don't tend to survive house fires very well, so she never saw it again). And I think that sudden spike of grief and longing and nostalgia coupled with the childish instinct to just... grab something you love dearly and run would leave her off balance enough to admit her past association with the toy to her friends, because we all know Vex plays things close to the vest when it comes to vulnerability.

So. All of those things together culminated in Keyleth (me. read: me) rambling for like six thousand words about my blorbos, and I'm so glad Tumblr doesn't give an ask response word count because dear fucking Jesus I don't even wanna know how long I've been droning on

Somehow they made Faye but even worse. And unlike Faye, Monica is a garbage unit. Seems hard to pull off in a Musou game, but her spell list is a mess, as are her stats, and her personal skill is even worse.

They tried to erase her wanting to kill Rhea, but then she still says she wants to kill Rhea anyway. But devs said she's happier and nicer guyz.

Lorenz has siblings now I guess. Note that in his Lysithea Support, Hubert also mentions having a brother and a sister. but he's still the eldest. So why was he stuck to Child No. 9 again???

Labrunda was found in the Stockpile of Convenient Sacred Weapons That Exist Now(tm).

Not only does she still belittle the guy and think him unworthy of her time like in Houses, but come Chapter 14 (providing you kill Byleth's disaster dad), she apparently genuinely was upset that he betrays her. But then again, he happily licks her feet on Golden Piss, so meh.

I'm beginning to suspect that the Koei devs were pissed that Byleth the Local Churchgoer was more popular than Edelgard.

Aegir has claim to a stretch of sea that doubles up as their trade route to Morfis. This specific trading relationship is also mentioned in one of the books that shares details about the Empire's territories.

There's so much disturbing dehumanization of the Nabatean characters (and Byleth by extension), but sure, Arval's soooo sympathetic because he cares about his War Boys, I guess. Oh, and he denounced Thales! What a good lad! /s

Look, I know a macaron is technically a type of cookie, but can't you just call it a goddamn macaron!? Bear in mind that this is the same game that conflates coffee with teff, and the localization actually made a good change by just calling the stupid drink coffee.

I murderkilled Byleth's disaster dad for this go-around and Byleth tips off Claude about...something. Of what, I don't know, but it makes Claude opt for an ill-fated betrayal. He lays it on thick with Byleth, and while Edelgard may get an extra chapter and a marginally better outcome by letting Walmart Greil live, the "what-if...ing..." if you will, is played up the hardest with Claude, which is really saying something considering the original game. And honestly, the what-if-ing does make a level of sense with Claude...but then, you have aspects of him that have nothing to do with Byleth at all perverted by the narrative, as detailed in this post.

Like seriously, even with something like having to murder a half-sibling who repeatedly says to your face that you're a mongrel who deserves to d*e looming over you, like...instead of making something potentially interesting, they derailed him so badly. Honestly, I feel for his Japanese VA struggling to get a good read on the character.

Anyway, end rant.

I feel like this alleged duress of signing a pact with the Empire would've landed better if it actually was done in the span of days or even weeks, but GW and SB both state it took about four months, which would've been well after any dust settling from Shahid's second raid of the Locket.

...seriously, why does this dude hate the Nabateans as virulently as she does? It's actually pretty ironic - folks will haw about Dedue or Catherine having no minds of their own, but it's Hubert who's really the most mindless one of all. He mostly lacks the rich inner lives and backstories the other two have.

Sylvain, 90% of the time, is C-Tier. 10% of the time, like right now though? SSS-Tier. Absolutely brutal. Wish we had even more of him.

Because I couldn't be bothered (and because the only Deer with exclusive Eagle Supports/incentives are Lysithea and Lorenz), I only got Shez whining about Claude betraying Egg. Most of the other Deer have unique dialogue doing the same. It's kind of sad how little most of them think of Claude, but then again, he can be a massive dick.

on most days he was able to ignore what the team captain had to say regarding things OFF the court. especially the comments regarding their relationship. after all, they weren't very different from what his stepfather had to say about him being the team's ALTERNATE-- or as he liked to put it the BENCHWARMER. not that it bothered him too much. volleyball was just something he enjoyed, it wasn't something he could see himself pursuing after high school.

he HOPED the same could be said about aiko. but maybe he was worried for nothing. she barely reacted to the provoking comments other teams made about her height before the matches. then again why would she? when she could respond with her skills that PROMPTLY shut them up.

and those moments were always the most satisfying when he watched her play.

he stole a brief glance toward her, expecting to see her stare straight ahead like the famous ice girl she was known for. but instead, he was greeted with her looking UNCOMFORTABLE. almost as if she wanted to speak up but didn't want to go against their superior. normally he could control himself better, but now that it directly involved her something inside him SNAPPED. before he could think it through, he lunged forward intending to punch his captain -- or future ex-captain -- squarely on the jaw.

at least, that was his plan until her voice CUT through his thoughts and pulled him back to the present. it was only then did he realize how STUPID he was to act on impulse. he hated how the strong but TREMBLING grip on his wrists gave him comfort but also made him feel ashamed. why.. did she put herself in the middle? in his blinded rage, he could have knocked her over. or worse-- he could have INJURED her and completely ruined her season stats.

he inhaled deeply, eyes reluctantly pulling away from her golden gaze as he slowly closed them in an attempt to regain his usual calm composure. but he was filled with so much frustration and shame at himself that it wasn't doing very much. thankfully his captain was able to read the room, for ONCE, and left them alone. with a sigh, he slumped forward and gently rested his forehead on her shoulder, "you shouldn't have jumped in like that.. i could have hurt you.." he mumbled, too ASHAMED to lift his head and look her in the eyes. "i don't care what he says about me.. but i don't want you or your name getting dragged into things like this because of me."

I currently have 3 detectives (kind of, two of them are *this* close to being sent back to my lil sandbox)

Rose (Rosie) Palmer:

Rose is my favorite and actually both my Nate/Mason detective (She was my first detective and I did Nate's route first, but when I started Mason's next I was like.............I don't want to make anyone new, I love her). In Nate's route, Mason is the bff and in Mason's, it's Nate lol I just love them too much. Despite being an only child, she's what I call the Big Sister Friend, because she'll "bully" you mercilessly then turn around and defend you within an inch of her life from anyone else who even thinks about hurting you. (as a big sister, I feel qualified to bestow this title upon her) Her top two professional skills are Science and Deduction. She's bold until someone (Mason) calls her bluff.

She's *mostly* the same in both routes, but somehow in Mason's, I never got a skill above 70 in book 2, so I assume that's why she kept getting the shit kicked out of her in book 3. She's definitely a people pleaser, "no I'm fine!" (screaming internally) type gal. So her relationship w/ Rebecca is like, right in the middle because she's like "yeah sure whatever" while clenching her teeth, just to avoid an argument. There's a lot of anger simmering just below the surface, but she doesn't want to take it out on anyone. And she's a lot like Adam in that she's going to (and wants to) be the decision maker, so when it all goes to hell, it's on her. She's going to worry about everyone else before herself and soon she is going to come apart at the seams. Overall, she has a strong sense of duty, cares a lot, and is funnier than me. Her true bestie is actually the legend, Vieno. Eleanor is SO lonely and bitter, I want to hug her. She's a "rebellious youth" detective because she spent her teen years trying to do increasingly outlandish things, just trying to get her mom to notice her and maybe even have to come home. And now she's in love with Adam and playing the worst game of "He loves me, he loves me not" of all time. She's pretty by the book these days, her highest stats are combat and people, and she didn't encourage Tina or Verda to search for the truth, so she's LONELY lonely by book 3. Her bff is Felix!! She needs someone to lean on and brighten up this miserable existence I have crafted for her. Barbara (Barbie) Cooper

This is my newest Felix detective (I had another but we were not vibing). She is sunshine personified and her name is Barbie because I created her the same day of the Barbie trailer drop. Her top skills are People and Deduction, she's so bright and enthusiastic that Adam constantly feels like wearing his sunglasses around her, yet they're also besties. She's very good at playing mediator when clashing opinions arise. She's the type to do things properly right up until someone she loves is in trouble, and then she'll break all the rules without thought. She has a good relationship with Rebecca, but I kinda want to start destroying it with every secret Rebecca reveals..... She's also a WIP that may need to be reworked idk Barbie: "Choreomania" by Florence + the Machine, "Last Hope" by Paramore Felix x Barbie: "Shinunoga E-Wa" by Fujii Kaze, "She's so High" by Tal Bachman
