just love hearing kieran culkin talk about succession/roman because he always talks about, like, the process of it and it’s so interesting — the scenes that are kept, the scenes that are taken out, the choices writers made he didn’t agree with, the choices he made that the writers (originally) didn’t agree with…. always really hammers in not only how collaborative the show is in that input from the actors is taken very seriously but also just how much culkin cares about roman like as a character? which i mean ya know all actors do. but culkin always talks about being a fan of the show first and an actor in it second and i think that’s such a huge thing. like, the way he cares about roman isn’t just as the actor playing him, it’s as a fan of the show — he’s approaching it not just from, like, a This Is My Job angle but also from the perspective of a fan who is just genuinely invested in the character of roman and would feel frustrated if they saw him do something that didn’t feel in-line with his character! kc would hate tumblr just like he hates all social media but he would indeed kill it on here

Sees post about how all the LMK characters are intelligent in their own ways: could you elaborate on that point...please?
Okay i’m so sorry to the bunch of other asks in my in-box. This is freshest on my mind and so its easier for me to respond.
Okay. So. Usually in each show there’s the naive character/ the dumb character that kinda becomes the butt of the joke or has to learn a hard lesson. Except EVERYONE in Lego Monkie kid is this character, and everyone also isn’t.
Mei is a technical wizard who has built her own motorcycle, piloted mechs, built an underground base and also provides Mk with some life wisdom sometimes. But she’s also impulsive, and childish at times.
Pigsy has more life knowledge and cooking expertise. He has been shown to give Mk and others lectures about being more responsible or how hard work is good work. But he also can neglect emotional issues and get stubborn. (Trying to dig out of a palace cell with a ceramic spoon)
Tang has more book knowledge and is clearly well versed in history. But he’s lazy and prefers to keep his hands clean when possible. More so, he ALSO has a hard time listening to others. (Wow, a shocker)
Sandy has great emotional knowledge and is clearly a skilled fighter. He knows how to navigate wildlife (tying ropes to trees to find his way back) and has vast knowledge in teas (creating his own brews.) Sadly, he’s so one-dimensional at this point that there is nothing really to him. :/
Wukong has a vast knowledge on artifacts and his own skills. He’s a trained fighter and is clearly witty. But, maybe you’ve guessed it, he’s stubborn (and has a hard time trusting others.)
Redson is just a whole package that I don’t think I’m going to fully unpack, but mechanics + magic + teaching abilities + insecurities + impulsive.
Mk might be impulsive and have a hard time with his priorities, but he’s clearly a good strategist. He’s good at negotiations (look at how he was able to STAY THE NIGHT at his ENEMIES house when they were clearly looking for something IN THAT HOUSE.) He’s able to come up with plans on the spot, and has Mei to help fill in the spots.
You see, these characters are meant to interlock. Where pigsy lacks, Tang makes up for it. Where Mei messes up, Mk is there to fix it. So on, so forth. It’s really great because that means you can basically pick any two characters and have them compliment each others strengths, yet draw out each others weakness. (You can also look at all the other characters. Jin and Yin are an exception because I said so.)
Thus, it’s really easy to make joke comics when looking at the places where no character overlaps.
It’s so fun to see comfort where the characters overlap and build on each other.
And it’s so heart breaking when comparing where only one character can actually succeed.
