I think people should be allowed to share their distaste for certain headcanons n such without people making posts about how they’re ‘gatekeeping’. for as much as I’m a ‘do what you want’ kinda dude, I do think that includes allowing people to express why they don’t enjoy something. like most people are pretty civil bout it until you antagonize them by pointing and saying they’re ‘policing’ spaces.

this was originally meant to be a response/follow-up to @i-did 's post about race in the aftg fandom (that you should read). i ran it by him first and asked permission to add, but then we decided it was too long so i should make it its own post
---
i want to talk about fandom's take on the twins' race because it's rather glaring in the fandom that andrew (and then aaron by necessity) are often portrayed as the only white characters on the team and i have to question why?
there's nothing in the backstories that would mean writing them as POC would fling them headlong into offensive stereotypes that the fandom hasn't bypassed over to make another fox a POC.
they have a history of addiction? but it's okay for matt and seth to be addicts and be brown.
they're violent? but it's okay for renee to be non-white and a former gang member.
they're blond and 'pale'¹? but allison can be a WOC and bleach her hair without saying it explicitly? renee can have white rainbow hair no matter the AU? neil can be a blue-eyed redhead and still be drawn darker skinned half the time?
'pale' in and of itself is a very vague word that's only brought up in the context of comparison to notably dark skinned nicky. it's completely relative, and multi-racial families where people look wildly different from each other exist (pretty commonly). or if you're prescriptivist how about the multiple ways a POC can still be a natural blond including but not limited to pigmentation conditions or being mixed race? similarly, i think less than a quarter of the FCs i've seen for andrew over the years have been natural blonds themselves.
so if our holdups aren't about racial stereotyping and they aren't about the incredibly vague character descriptions, then why are the twins always white when it's approached as a good thing that no one else is? when i've seen multiple different posts lauding the fandom for adding diversity where nora didn't write it, except for here?
.
to be completely, bluntly honest, it's because we as a majority-white fandom are uncomfortable when we are not the central characters. or maybe we are uncomfortable when people of color ARE the central characters. i don't think there's much of a difference.
we are comfortable writing and drawing nicky, the upperclassmen, then kevin (in that order) as poc because, simply, we use them as background characters. they are rarely the main characters of fics, or have their own storylines in them; it all revolves around andreil.
.
additionally, while i've used neil up to now as an example of the fandom being OKAY with writing POC, let's also admit that it's an,, imperfect representation, as he will often be racially ambiguous with no explicit ethnicity, he will be the lightest skinned of the foxes of color, and he will still have eurocentric features. also it's genuinely a toss up as to whether he's drawn brown or not, there are still plenty of white neils, much more than there are white dans and matts and renees (not an attack on anyone who draws white neils, simply a statement) and FCs and edits of him still tend to be white people.
he's a bit of a schrödinger's person of color, not really any one thing or another, very few people being willing to take a hard stance on him and do the work of taking that decision under consideration when writing and drawing him.
(quick shout-out here to @hi-raethia for making content about an explicitly chinese interpretation of neil).
(additionally, to be as clear about my intended message as possible, this isn't a statement on the politics of passing or undermining the ethnicities of lightskinned poc, this is about a lack of detail being put into making a character a character of color in any thoughtful, meaningful, or significant way)
.
so when i talk about the centralization of white people in fandom, neil gets to be included, perhaps with a footnote indicating that this is somewhat of a more complicated statement than it is with lily-white andrew minyard.
nevertheless, i feel comfortable saying that 75% of fandom content revolves around andrew and neil, major exceptions only being jerejean which are often stand-alone from the foxes, and the rising branch of kevaaron shippers. however both of those ships are actually subject to this exact same criticism, as ships between a a flat-out white character and a dubiously "non-white" character who can also be white sometimes. it varies.
conspicuously, content about the UPPERCLASSMEN tends to revolve around andrew and neil.
fics where the upperclassmen are the pov character are often outside-perspective fics on andreil.
HC posts about the upperclassmen, especially matt, will devote major portions to his time spent helping, hanging with, and thinking about andrew and/or neil.
secondary ships like danmatt or renison tend to be just that, secondary ships moving in the background of andreil-focused works. they get more of a,,, scenic shout-out than a storyline
it is only comfortable for us to write these characters as characters of color if they revolve entirely around white characters
.
.
.
so after all that? what should we do, as a white-majority fandom? what should YOU, specifically, as a white person, do?
i hate to talk about a problem without also talking about solutions, and i try not to carp on something i don't want to be an active part of fixing. public criticism without an action plan only leads to hurt feelings and guilt, and that's never my intention when bringing this up. my goal is to address a general problem, not anyone specific's personal failings.
in all honesty leaning completely into all of the foxes being people of color, though i think neat and i certainly support, is not the best solution, and would be more of a hollow action than anything else without addressing the underlying problems that lead to the development of this dynamic.
i think the best thing to do would be to 1. do some research on writing poc, usually by following some writing-specific blogs like @writingwithcolor or @pocinmymedia . look up the 'black best friend' trope and really spend some time tjinking about it. spend an hour seeking out a random assortment of blogs that interest you that are also run by people of color. checking through tags like drawingwhileblack or blacktober may be good kickoff points.
tumblr is great because with an hour of active work to find these blogs, you can then go months passively seeing content from them. try not to interact, actually, simply watch and listen and become familiar with general trends and concerns in different communities. remember that every blog is run by an individual person, not an elected representative of their race, and always keep this in mind.
you are teaching YOURSELF that people of color are individuals, they have interests and inner lives that don't revolve around whiteness, that don't revolve around YOU
at the same time, 2. challenge yourself as a creator to make more content about the upperclassmen, specifically. make art about them doing stuff as a group separate from neil and andrew's group. find a compilation of 'draw the squad' memes and draw/tag the upperclassmen only. make jokes where they talk to each other. write some meta about their character motivations. write a fic where andreil isn't even mentioned, it can be super short, you can even use a prompt generator.
as a reader, reread their backstories in the extra content. reread son nefes. use ao3's filtering system to read some fics about JUST the upperclassmen, few and far apart though they may be.
if we've decided that the upperclassmen are people of color then lean into that, and learn to CARE about them on their own merit, because they are the most underutilized characters in the fandom. we need to make content centralized around them to combat the fact that fandom centralizes whiteness

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE: MUN & MUSE
fill out & repost ♥ this meme definitely favors canons more, but i hope oc’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. multimuses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
tagged by: stolen from @oneshallfall like.... months ago. im a slow gremlin hjksd. it's been in my drafts and i finally decided to finish the last few sections while working on clearing them out
tagging: steal it
Tumblr media
MY MUSE IS.   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless
is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO.
is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  Well.../ NO / IDK. (i know optimus is but i don’t really... know about orion? i have seen a handful of fanartists who turn him into a very sexualized moe baby but i’m not sure about the fandom at large)
is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
are they underrated?  YES / NO. (lmao there’s like no fan content with him unless it’s with megatronus)
were they relevant to the main story?  YES / NO.
were they relevant to the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO. (not yet.... lol)
how’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?
This... this is a trick question in this goddamn mess of a continuity. That said, I try my absolute best to make my portrayal coherent with the TFP show... even if said show contradicts itself at times. I take inspiration from the earlier parts (the thirteen primes section) of the Covenant of Primus for his origin backstory, but ignore the rest of the Covenant since it makes absolutely no sense with his characterization in... literally anything else. I’ve peeked at Exodus and it utterly sucks, but I’ve picked up bits and pieces of concepts that originated there just from spending time in the fandom. Aside from that... I spend a ton of time thinking about how to weave everything together in a way that both makes sense and makes for a character development arc.
SELL YOUR MUSE! (aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.)
Orion is genuinely kind, thoughtful, and introspective, very loving of the world around him.
He’s also a more complex character than is initially obvious - despite mostly being good sweet pure baby nerd he’s still flawed, with many of those flaws being his strengths put into the wrong situation. His strong morals can lead to dogmatism, and he’s only slightly less likely to deliver lectures than Optimus. His determination to be kind and help everyone can come off as unintentionally patronizing at times; he has a very “well-intentioned semi-privileged middle class” perspective that he’s not always self-aware of. However, he’s also willing to look at himself critically and learn/adapt.
Essentially, he has many of the same traits as Optimus... just more or less apparent and/or developed. He's less confident than he eventually becomes through his future experience with leadership, wanting to change the world for the better but sometimes struggling to ground his plans in reality—something that continues to apply, but with reduced intensity and frequency over time. Idealistic cinnamon roll will eventually develop some realism, though never really quite enough. His selflessness remains a strength for now, but we know that eventually it will dip into martyristic tendencies.
NOW THE OPPOSITE! (list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?)
He could be potentially ‘boring’ in some senses. he’s the polite, considerate ‘next door’ type, who has for most of his life has just lived as a very average middle caste nobody. He’s more laid-back than he eventually becomes as optimus, but where others might get into trouble and shenanigans he’s most likely to just express concern. And since I try to keep him at least mostly ic, even with non-serious posts, this can derail ‘fun’ stuff and I fear dissuade some interaction.
While I try my best to give him realistic flaws that work with his character, he could still be seen as a little too good. very kind, understanding, forgiving, patient, considerate... almost endlessly so. A lot of my “he’s so good and pure” interpretation comes from using his having been the thirteenth prime as backstory, where he was pretty much the epitome of that, but some might not like the “he was a literal deity in a past life” idea for its “super special chosen one protagonist” elements.
His responsiveness to his environment can also be a downside. He’s not the type to start things; he just reacts and responds, standing his ground and finding himself when things get crazy around him. without megatronus, he may have eventually attempted political campaigning, but it wouldn’t have gotten very far. He needs to have more intense characters or events around him for major plots to really go places. Without those nothing would ever happen besides slice of life fluff, because he’s content with that kind of life.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?
Honestly I just wanted to write op/ratch fhsjkdjsdh. But I also wanted to be able to interact with a variety of muses and so I chose Orion over Optimus because he’s not so emotionally closed off, which I figured would give more flexibility beyond the handful of characters op would reasonably have close personal and/or plot-important relationships with. Also, I can relate to him on a thought-process level which lets me get into his head easily, which additionally made him an appealing choice for my first real rp muse.
WHAT KEEPS YOUR INSPIRATION GOING?
I just love him so much, especially with the layers of his character I've built up around him. I don't always have inspiration to write or rp, but I think about him a lot. When I do find motivation to write, it's generally out of wanting to continue to work on developing him and just having a chance to express his characterization.
SOME MORE PERSONAL QUESTIONS FOR THE MUN.
do you think you give your character justice?  YES / NO.
do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO.
do you sometimes write drabbles? YES / NO.  (i should do it more...)
do you think a lot about your muse during the day? YES / NO.
are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO. (at least most days fhsdhfskj)
are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. (it waxes and wanes. I know I'm a good writer but I could still be better...)
are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO.
DO YOU ACCEPT CRITICISM WELL ABOUT YOUR PORTRAYAL?
I’ll be honest; I’ve never gotten criticism. I haven’t been here very long in comparison to some and I’ve never been that popular, so I figure I’m pretty easy to just ignore. I guess how I would feel about it would depend on what it was and how it was delivered, though I like to think I would be reasonable regardless
DO YOU LIKE QUESTIONS, WHICH HELP YOU EXPLORE YOUR CHARACTER?
yes? yes absolutely?
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES TO A HEADCANON OF YOURS, DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY?
I would be curious to hear their reasoning, but I think enough about how everything fits together that chances are I would agree to disagree
IF SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOUR PORTRAYAL, HOW WOULD YOU TAKE IT?
Depends on if their disagreement makes sense. Maybe I’ll give back my own reasoning for why I characterize the way I do. Maybe I’ll just agree to disagree, if their view is just totally different from mine. If they have valid points I’ll probably overthink it and spiral into self doubt. In all cases I’ll spill my thoughts to friends on discord.
IF SOMEONE REALLY HATES YOUR CHARACTER, HOW DO YOU TAKE IT?
......Orion in general or? ... fhsjkdhf...... Well if it was mine specifically that might hurt lol. But at the same time.... I doubt i’d agree with their takes either so... fair enough.
ARE YOU OKAY WITH PEOPLE POINTING OUT YOUR GRAMMATICAL ERRORS?
Sure. I’m good at grammar so if something glaring is there it’s probably a typo I missed and I’ll be grateful for the chance to edit it out before more people see it lol
DO YOU THINK YOU ARE EASY GOING AS A MUN?
Yeah. I’m pretty quiet most of the time because I just don’t have energy to talk to a lot of people, and I never want to get caught in drama. I honestly wouldn’t know what to do in a situation like that. I tend to avoid conflict, I’m quick to apologize, and polite with anyone I don’t know very well.

DC’s Tone Deafness
So I don’t really like ranting or being negative, but DC Universe recently released an article to celebrate pride month about the Top 5 canon and non-canon LGBTQA+ relationships in Young Justice.
And the tone deafness is just off the charts. Like most of the world, I’m not American so I needed someone to screen-cap the actual article for me. I’m going to organize my thoughts and go down below.
General
For one, its pretty obvious the writer didn’t look at the source material. This article sounds like it was written by someone filled in on the basics and told to write a good PR article for DC.
There are a lot of little details in the story, such as when the writer claims that they “showcased even more LGBTQA+ protagonists in season 3″ implying they had previously, which they hadn’t. One character was implied to be bisexual in the comics, never on screen, but more on that below. Season 3 was the first LGBTQA+ rep for the show.
Also its always a bit tone deaf when in an article celebrating LGBTQA+ and diversity in your show, that you have a list of 5 “ships”, of which only ONE is actually a couple in canon. Not only did they need to resort to non-canon ones, they included people that can’t be called a “ship” or couple.
1. Kaldur/Wyynde
This is the only actual LGBTQA+ couple on the list that is canon in the show, and I liked them. But I can’t deny that Kaldur who was a main cast member for the past two season’s had a vastly reduced role (compared to straight cis white characters like Dick and Conner). He was basically written out of the first half of the season, and then his relationship was really present for 1.5 - 2 episodes max. This in a season that was marked with excessive attention given to heterosexual relationships (like seriously, basically every character was in some form of relationship on-screen). The one healthy LGBTQA relationship got less attention than Black Lightning and Dr. Jace’s romance, something that ultimately went nowhere, Dick/Barbara, even Megan/Conner when Megan was also essentially written out of the season.
2. Marie Logan and Rita Farr
They really dug deep for this “ship”. Ironically, they start this by talking about the scene in Young Justice #25, when Queen B’s powers work on Garfield’s mother. This was the first implication her being bisexual. And of course, she also dies in this scene, so starting off with a “Bury your gays” trope where Marie’s queerness literally got her killed and orphaned her son.
There isn’t much more to say about this ship, because it literally doesn’t exist. The shipping community for this is so small you have to go digging deep into tags to find even hints of it. The article even basically says this, posing the ship as a question. As being interesting. (Does it count as Bury Your Gays when both woman are dead before their relationship is even hinted at?)
In other words this article about celebrating LGBTQA ships literally had to try and CREATE A SHIP to reach 5 ships. Despite the fact there are plenty of LGBTQ fanon ships (Birdflash being the most prominent one left off the list). It really hits at the thing I said above, this is a “write us a good PR article with the barest amount of effort put into it” situation.
3. Harper Row and Halo
Oh boy don’t get me started on this. There are so many problems with how they did Halo this season, she is basically tone deaf personified. (For the purpose of this rant, I’ll be using the “she” pronouns for Halo, because I have no choice but to assume they are her preference, unless the show purposely spent the entire season mis-gendering her, but I don’t think her characterization really supports that she prefers “her/she”).
I’ve had a problem with Halo from the start, because she is basically an attempt for the writers to shallowly include representation without having to actually deal with it. She is Muslim representation, but not actually Muslim (as she confirms on the show). She wears the Hijab because she feels like it. She is genderqueer, but they never once talk about her pronouns. She refers to herself as “not feeling like a boy or a girl” and constantly refers to herself in the third person, but everyone uses “she/her” pronouns without asking her. They even have a scene where she informs them she is genderqueer, and its never brought up again without asking any actual follow up questions or awareness. They also infantalize and treat her as a little girl.
Additionally, she falls into one of my greatest pet peeves - she is genderqueer but for fantasy-scifi reasons. For those that follow genderqueer or transgender characters in media, this is a very common trope. Essentially, the trope is when someones gender identity is caused by/determined from otherworldly experiences.
This trope bugs me because it completely undermines the point of representation. Representation in media is supposed to show the audience that these are natural human experiences and that people like this exist and are normal. But the trope ensures that the experiences are not normal human experiences.
(and don’t even get me started on the fact that this show has made New Genesis tech gendered before, with Sphere. And even gender the bioship in the same season they pull this for Halo).
Lastly, she also falls within the “promiscuous bisexual” trope, with the very kiss this article praises as THE FIRST LGBT KISS ON SCREEN for the show. This is a problematic trope that DC seems to love. Basically, this scene has Halo cheating on her boyfriend with another young classmate, engaging in two kisses with her.
Now I’m not going to say that all LGBTQA+ relationships need to be wholesome one true loves. Problematic behaviour like Halo and Harper’s is a story telling tool. But the fact that the LGBTQA+ was told going into the season there would be LGBT rep so they should watch, and this was the first rep we got 18 episodes into the season? It felt a bit like a slap in the face. They could’ve had her break up with Brion beforehand, or any number of different ways that would even keep the scene in tact.
And the relationship doesn’t really go anywhere anyways. Harper doesn’t really remain part of the season going forward, Halo and her boyfriend continue their relationship after it was revealed until the end of the season.
This is ultimately my problem with Halo. There are a few tropes that basically are summed up as “writers put all their diversity into one character” which is basically what Halo is. Each of these qualities, from faith to gender identity to sexual orientation could’ve been a fleshed out character arc (oh! I forgot to mention she also falls into the “My gender identity isn’t cis, so my sexual orientation is also bi/pan/gay trope). Instead all the diverse qualities of Halo are addressed shallowly as the show-runners pat themselves on the back.
4. Bluepulse
I’ve ranted a lot so I’m not going to go crazy on this point. You can probably find tons of posts about the drama between Bluepulse Shippers and the show, which again makes their inclusion kind of tone-deaf. Bluepulse shippers have been called disgusting by the fandom for the three year age gap, an age gap that was never confirmed on screen and you had to go digging in Greg’s personal message board to know (resulting in many people shipping them not knowing their ages at all).
In addition, the showrunners made it clear they did not like this ship over the several years the show has been off the air. And in Season 3 they give Jaime a girlfriend….who is a lesbian in the comics. Now Traci and Jaime did date in the comics before she came out, and this is another Earth. But when the sole purpose of their relationship being on screen was to tell the audience that bluepulse wasn’t happening, choosing a lesbian character to play the cis straight girlfriend is a bit of a slap in the face. again.
5. Bart Allen and Eduardo
Queerbaiting, nuff said.
For those not in the know, Ed is a character introduced as a runaway in Season 2, but he doesn’t really interact with Bart until mid-season 3. There is an episode where a group of heroes go to a carnival, and Ed and Bart appear to be on a date. They are in a group with all couples, except for Virgil. Virgil laments being the only person there without a significant other, implying that Bart and Ed are together. Additionally, Bart and Ed do everything that the other couples do together. It was pretty heavy-handed that the couples were there on dates.
And fans liked this! Even if Bluepulse wasn’t happening, Bart may still be bisexual or gay. This was made worse by Greg retweeting and liking Ed/Bart content, and not giving a straight answer on whether they were dating.
Which obviously, creates the expectation among LGBTQA+ fans that they will get together. They don’t. And later at a convention, one of the main writers (not Greg) said something like “its funny how the fans see relationships between characters differently from our intent” when asked a question about them. Essentially confirming that yeah, they didn’t have any actual content for them planned anyway. Though they did have an addendum that they may build on the fan reception/view of the relationship in the future (basically saying, maybe they’ll be canon).
As much as I’d like to be optimistic that they actually will get together and we’ll get a LGBTQ relationship that is in the spotlight for once, I’m not. I’ll be happy to be proved wrong on this point.
And that was my TEDtalk about how tone-deaf DC patting themselves on the back for LGBTQA+ content in Young Justice is. Especially when other animated shows do so much better with fewer episodes and screen time.

Mun’s Asks: RP Edition
Tumblr media
I’m going to answer 22 first as it’ll be the longest. Also, a disclaimer:
The question asks for five blogs I recommend to my followers. While I tried to choose five muns based on a variety of criteria, I want it to be clear that if I’m writing with you and you are not listed here, it doesn’t mean I don’t recommend you. Honestly, I could probably answer this question plenty more times with new blogs each time. The better answer to this question is to comb through my blog and see who I’m writing with, as I recommend them if we’re writing or have written threads together.
However, I tried to choose blogs/muns that really do inspire me, contribute great work and/or rph to the community, and aren’t only Danganronpa blogs. Additionally, I tried to choose blogs who have posted IC content in the past two weeks.
22. If you could recommend at least five blogs to your followers, who would they be?
Okay, here we go! Five blogs and/or muns that you should be following:
@the-taboo-king - Literally no surprise if you’ve been following me for awhile. I will always be a fan of blogs that put so much thought, time, and effort into taking a canon character and truly developing that character into their own. There’s an excellent balance between main/canon verses, AUs, aesthetics, and crack over here and if you need some writing inspiration? Just read any of their threads. Literally, any of them. Each one of my Sonia and Gundham threads pushes me to be a better writer, to develop my Sonia further from ‘safe’ canon tropes and I’m always grateful for that. These threads are just a joy to write and I’d say that if you have a Danganronpa character or verse and you’re not writing with this Gundham, you’re severely missing out.
I liked Sondam before I joined the DR RPC. Now? It’s probably my favorite DR ship for Sonia.
@gungambled / @thawedfrost / @spiritusvendid - Because these are all the same mun, they’re all listed here. All of Kitty’s blogs deserve to be in the spotlight! Admittedly, I’m currently only writing with her Celestia at this time (Sonia and Celestia - future BFFs in the making!), but she gives each one of her muses such a unique voice and insight. Her dialogue is excellent and you really get the sense of who each one of her muses is, whether you’re familiar with the source material or not. Kitty’s also so fun to talk to OOC (possibly because we have some of the same hobbies and enjoy making crack plots about our muses)! It’s a treat when she shares mun photos, as she’s a fantastic makeup artist and cosplayer (And I always support fellow cosplayers and roleplayers, two big time-consuming hobbies!).
@spurnedadulthood - I talk about Livi a lot over here. There’s good reason for that: Livi’s Kensuke Hibiki comes from a game and anime that aren’t too popular over here on tumblr, but with a ton of verses available, Kensuke can come pester your muse almost anywhere. And while his personality takes some getting used to (he’s. a. GREMLIN.), Livi writes him with such sincerity and devotion to his source material that, for the most part, you just have to laugh and shake your head with every response. Also? I’d never heard of the Caligula franchise before writing with Livi. It took about three RP turns for me to fire up Crunchyroll and watch the entire anime to better understand Kensuke and the Caligula verse (I’m not the greatest at those types of games, so the anime was much easier for me to digest!). It’s very rare that I’m inspired to seek out a muse’s source material if I’m unfamiliar with them, but I can attribute that to Livi’s characterizations and writing skills. I’m pretty sure Livi has more than one blog, too? An OC, I think? Anyway, if Livi’s writing a muse, follow that blog.
@trinitytalents - I admit, I am a bit picky when it comes to OC blogs. However, I really like what 7th has done with the variety of Danganronpa OCs that make up the killing game Project Trinity. With a variety of muses to choose from, 7th has made sure each one has a distinct personality, history, talent, and more, and all of them will fit right in with your Danganronpa muse or verse! I’m a bit partial to Satomi and Atsuko myself, but there’s an Ultimate Stylist Sonia needs to meet. In short, 7th brings their original creations to life so well with respect to the franchise that has inspired them and is just a fantastic example of a multi-muse OC blog. I just wish there was more art of all of the Project Trinity students!
@sadisticbloodlxst - For those who are familiar with the Diabolik Lovers franchise, you’ll know that a lot of the subjects in the games and shows are not for the faint of heart. However, this blog handles all of them with such eloquence while writing for every member of the Sakamaki and Mukami families! That’s a lot of muses with a lot of different personalities, histories, and perhaps most importantly in DL, reasons why they’re just not very nice vampires. Each character is so distinct, with writing full of emotion even when the muse themselves is determined to stay stone-faced. They’re taking a small break right now, but when they return, it’s a blog you should be reaching out to if you’re a fan of Diabolik Lovers (or dark plots, angst, nsfw, etc) at all, even just to read the various threads going on with plenty of other muses. Yes, I’m nosy and enjoy reading what all of their muses are up to! I can’t wait to keep developing Sonia’s storyline with Ruki and eventually, maybe, having her meet more of the cast.
6. What are your thoughts on the current roleplay trends on here right now?
I’m not sure what counts as a current roleplay trend, so to speak, but I’ll give this a shot:
- Google doc rules are a good thing, especially to access on mobile. I should do one myself. A lot of times I’ll get followed and I’ve only got my phone or tablet to check out a blog, and a google docs linked in mobile helps me decide much more quickly if I want to follow someone.
- Blogs and promos that focus so much on aesthetics that you cannot read the posts on their blog or you cannot find the rules/muses/info easily on the theme irk me. I’m much less likely to have the patience to move my cursor around your blog trying to find the smallest possible icon to hover over for ‘rules’ than if you have a sidebar icon that just says, plainly, rules.’  My reasoning of following a blog always comes down to: do our rules/values/interests match and can I work with this mun’s writing? No matter how pretty the blog is, if I can’t work with your IC content, I’m probably not going to follow.
- Patience with replies needs to be understood more by the RPC in general. Just because memes and threads are posted doesn’t mean every mun can get to them quickly. It’s fine to ask someone after a week or so (Vacation and other hiatus reasons aside), but before that? Patience. Interact with more muns, post promos, drabble, create moodboards or song lists, or even find more muses to write. Don’t worry, people will eventually respond.
- I wish group blog promos and indie blog promos had different tags. Even in the fandom-specific promo tags. It’s irritating to try and get a promo in the appropriate tags only to have it buried by group blog promos, often mass-spammed with content that isn’t even promo content.
7. What is the one trend you miss the most that’s no longer popular or seen as much as it was before?
I’m not sure if it was just not a trend or just not as further developed, but I miss the RP days of Livejournal and Greatestjournal. A lot less weird formatting and focus on coordinating blog icons in every post. I think for OCs, icons definitely help. But for canon characters that, presumably, the person you’re writing with is familiar with, it’s tiresome to add. Especially if you’re on the tumblr app.
In general, I just miss more of the focus being on writing: developing skills, brainstorming, etc, instead of aesthetics. Whether it’s the blog style or mass-sharing aesthetic posts, I just wish it was more evenly distributed with written IC content in some places.

☭ FEVER STATE: “A BUG IN THE SYSTEM”☭ stage i
Fresh biscuits baked long before the sun rose the morning of Monday, January 3rd, 2163, had the dining hall smelling sweet and inviting by the time people arrived for breakfast.
Overall, it was more or less like any other day. The coffee was mediocre at best, but it’d definitely been worse, and so that, combined with the scent of fresh flakey pastries put most in at least a half-way decent mood. A down right good one, for some.
It was roughly half nine when the first civilian fled their classroom for the bathrooms, claiming feeling ill; about a quarter to ten when not one, but two citizens threw up in the middle of the training fields; and just past ten thirty when an entire rotation of Infected citizens on meal prep chores were all but collapsed on bathroom and infirmary floors.
The sickness took everybody, regardless of status, age, infection. It didn’t matter what they’d had for breakfast (or hadn’t) or what they’d had for lunch: by 2pm, Monday afternoon, not a single person in Colony 22 wasn’t showing symptoms. Not even the NWRF.
The sickness started like many common fevers or the onset of viruses. For most, it began with the sweats. A quickly rising internal temperature, but chills on the surface of one’s skin, often engulfing an individual in miserable, sickening shivers.
Soon after came the shakes, vertigo-like dizzy spells, and extreme nausea, followed swiftly by an inability to keep anything down. A complete purging of the stomach, the biggest concern for the quickly filling infirmary was keeping everyone hydrated. Nurses, all of whom were also sick to varying degrees but working tirelessly and bravely through it, began to separate those in desperate condition as the sickness spread, from those in a more manageable condition—in other words, those who were more likely able to keep some water in their system, and those who weren’t.
Infirmary beds were then reserved for citizens whose symptoms were more critical, so they could be hooked up to IVs which would keep them hydrated and in a stable condition. Those lucky few whose symptoms were slightly less severe and maintained at least strength enough to move around between bouts of vomiting and to drink water slowly, were contained to their dorms, where whichever medical staff were still upright would check their vitals and tend to them as best they could.
No one was to leave the infirmary or their respective houses under any circumstances. Not until more could be understood about this sickness, where it came from, and most importantly, what its consequences would look like.
Officials worked frantically to communicate with other Colonies—was this happening anywhere else? Had a source yet been located? Had any fatalities been reported? Colony 22 as a whole was immobilized; at a complete and utter standstill, desperate for information that would only come with time.
A/N: Alrighty kids! The moment you’ve all been waiting for! Part One of the new year plot drop! (Both our New Year AND the RP’s New Year!!)
Welcome to: ☭ FEVER STATE: A BUG IN THE SYSTEM ☭ { stage i } !!
This is frames as an ‘event’ as you can see in the banner, but technically speaking it’s a plot drop element that will be revealed in roughly four stages—some of which will be happening sooner than others. Reveals will come over time, and some stages will have longer delays than others.
Additionally, stage one, “A Bug in the System” will actually happen with its own individual mini-stages as well. The whole stage will take place over only TWO (VERSE) DAYS in the RP timeline, but there will be a second post from the Main that will happen a few hours into the second day (in the RP verse) that will trigger the second half of stage one.
So, to simplify:
From this moment until further notice, you may RP ANYTHING in the RP timeline between MONDAY morning, Jan 3rd, to TUESDAY morning the 4th, before 11am.
When the 2nd portion of this stage of the plot drop is posted from the main (you’ll know it when you see it), it will open up the remainder of the time frame for the first stage, A Bug in the System. More details will come with that post to ensure every body is clear and has all the information they need!
As far as real time goes, we will likely head into stage 2 next weekend, depending on what the dash is looking like. Stage 1 and 2 are a bit more connected than the others, so it may make sense to do so.
☭  General Guidelines: ☭
As always, you may continue old threads as long as you need to, but you may not post anything new that happens before this plot drop. Everything new on the dash must be within this timeline, which is currently only the Monday morning to Tuesday morning. As the plot progresses, you will always be updated about timelines and what’s available to you to RP.
Because this is not a contained event so much as it is a plot drop revealed in stages, and because we want to time it according to how much activity is on the dash and how well you guys are getting through content (we always like to customize according to member activity speed so that people have a chance to explore whichever plots they need to!), we ask that you TITLE ALL THREADS in this stage of the timeline, and they MUST include any variation of the following:
Fever State: part one OR Fever State: Part 1 OR FS: Stage 1 OR FS: Bug in the System etc, etc, etc...
Alternatively, you can chose only to include some form of the Stage 1 title itself:
A Bug in the System OR Bug in the System OR BITS/B.I.T.S. (woah okay didn’t notice that before, that’s weird haha) OR ABITS/A.B.I.T.S. etc, etc, etc...
Essentially, you can format your thread titles however you wish, the only requirement is that it indicates which stage of the drop it is. This will become important as the stages progress and you are wanting to continue plotting across them, and simply keeping things clear on the dash. (Note: please note that if you decide against indicating anything about ‘fever state’ please don’t only say ‘part one’ as there have been many ‘part ones’ over the course of Colony events. If you’re going to stick with only stage names in your titles, then make sure to use the name of the stage in some capacity.)
All posts on the main regarding the new plot drop will be tagged as #col22feverstate. Each stage will also have its own tag, and stage one will be #col22FSbug. You do not have to use these tags for your personal posts, but can certainly choose to use them if you wish or tag however you like for your personal organization styles.
☭  Individual Character Variations: ☭
It’s up to you to decide when and how your character(s) is/are affected by the sickness, so long as it remains consistent with the canon narration posted above the cut.
In other words, all characters, with no exceptions MUST be showing symptoms before roughly 2pm on Monday January 3rd. But some characters may have been hit worse than others. So, you can decide how long it takes each symptom to show, and how drastically they are affected by and experience these symptoms. If you want one or more of your characters to be sick but still able to walk around a little bit or maybe even help out the medical staff, that is fine. Alternatively, if you want one or more of your character(s) to be totally immobilized, finding it incredibly difficult to even move or get out of bed, that’s fine too.
But everyone gets sick, and everyone experiences at least some bouts of vomiting.
Stages of illness should happen in the order mentioned above, but they can be timed however you want and some symptoms may affect characters harder than others. Also, it is up to you if your character is well enough to be in their house/dorms or if they are in the infirmary.
The only thing you can’t do in terms of the symptoms is change any of them or report any other symptoms not listed above, in case said symptoms conflict with any further planned plot progression. If you are unsure about anything or want to inquire about specific details, please direct your questions to the main blog ASK (so they can be answered publicly to help everyone).
☭  Chaos in the Community: ☭
In terms of what the structure of things will probably look like as this is going down, it’s going to be pretty chaotic for at least the first few hours. People will be admitted into the infirmary and then a couple hours in, as it starts to fill up and it’s becoming clear that this is happening at an epidemic level with citizens, that’s when the medical staff will start moving people around and clearing infirmary beds etc.
With regards to restrictions and security and keeping citizens in their houses—it’s going to be enforced as much as possible for the purposes of being able to take care of people properly, but the staff are all sick and very spread thin—so the first half of the day is going to be much more chaotic, especially as people are still in varying degrees of illness. If someones tries to leave their bed or house, it will likely be possible for them to do so as long as there isn’t a staff member tending to them right at that moment in time to keep them there. There will be a lot of running around between patients and rooms and finding supplies and dealing with emergencies, so truth be told, it’ll be a bit of a shit show.
By the evening, around 6 or 7pm, more people will be completely out of commission, so things should have calmed down by then and more people will be where they are supposed to be, wherever that is. However, if you have a character who doesn’t experience the sickness as badly as the other and it stays that way, they may be able to move around a little bit more or offer to help staff or check on friends in other houses, if their vitals looking more positive.
There’s a few different ways you can play this, and you are free to develop your own headcanons with each of your characters, just keep in mind the rules about the symptoms mentioned above, and please do come to the mods with any specific inquiries you might have!
Alright, God Speed munchkins! Have fun with your little puking babies and... we’re sorry?? hahaha...
Love you all!

I have a little idea for the 1k followers. As I followed this blog recently, I was wondering about his history. If you feel like it, could do a summary? Like, why did you start it? Your first joy/disappointment. Any thing that we haven't see that you might want to share. Absolutely anything about the blog and you. (If you're comfortable with it of course)
This is a very good idea, lovable anon, I’ll try.
History:
It was 17th November 2015, somewhen in Tuesday afternoon. I don’t remember what exactly sparked the idea of starting this blog, but I can say for certain that it was heavily inspired by the @bleachlists (which is, if you ask me, better humor than canon Bleach). And thus the first list was born.
(I never expected this blog to get famous. Or followers besides bots for that matter. I hoped, maybe, for a little circle of, like, 5 actual readers. I certainly didn’t think I would keep this blog for longer than 4 months. That’s how it is with me usually, I have bursts of inspiration but lack long-term dedication. The fact that this blog is still going is a miracle.)
At first the lists were written in the “chat” style. I had to make up my own prompts, because the two followers or so only hearted the posts but didn’t interact with me at all otherwise. That’s why the activity was very irregular at the time, I was writing when I was inspired and thus a month could pass without a word from me and then boom, three posts in a week. Additionally, I wasn’t writing only lists, but also short stuff, kind of like “Slice of life from Azeroth.” Of these the most famous is Chromie and Dragons and in my opinion the best one and not enough appreciated one is Kel’thuzad’s Heard Of Sylvanas’ Plans.
The first breakthrough came in January 2016 when an anon, who made me happy so much that I called them “lovable” in the list and kept on doing so for all following anons, requested the very first requested list, the Care of Babies list. For a long time this has been the list with the most notes. Now there are too many lists to keep count and Tumblr doesn’t do “the best of your posts,” but still it is one of the most popular posts I have and along with the Chromie and Dragons it still pops up in my notifications. Around April 2016 I had stable enough queue of requested lists to stop making up my own prompts, thus I could completely rely on prompts from followers, most of them from anons.
Another important milestone was August of the same year: First of all, I came up with a posting schedule (Fridays and Mondays, but two months later I understood that was too fast - It ate the prompts faster than they were prompted, and I wasn’t managing it). Then Taedal was added to the lists, at first he was meant as a joke, as I keep reminding him and everyone else, and somehow it happened he stayed here. Additionally, Varian and Vol’jin’s deaths were acknowledged, putting Anduin on the list. Soon after, Garrosh joined in from beyond the veil to annoy Vol’jin in his afterlife.
About this time the blog began to create it’s own lore (and not only the L.O.R.E.), and I even had the (short-spanned) will to mystify people that Taedal is going to get his own expansion. I even had a sideblog dedicated to Taedal (in fact, it was Taedal’s own blog, intentioned as a RP blog but somehow it never…got much traffic) and even a wiki. The wiki still exists! I like to think of this as the Golden Age of HeadQuarters verse, when I even got fanfics on AO3 and a dozen of drawings for this blog even. This blog lives in an alternate universe where there is a new isle west of Pandaria and Garrosh adopted 37 dead children in the afterlife and learned to be a better person (not necessarily the same as good person, but let’s not lose hope).
I don’t remember exactly on what occasion in the 2017 the Interviews were added, but they were the first not-list which were requestable (that is, they weren’t the short filler stuff I used to make before). I think it was to celebrate the first 100 followers but I might be wrong. The first Interview was held with Taedal, by my decision, and ever since then the Interviews went by request every twenty days, moved to every other Wednesday, later as of not-so-recently, every other Tuesday. In the history of the Interviews, there happened to be only one which wasn’t published, because nobody asked any questions. (It was Interview with Kel’thuzad, pt. 3, and I jokingly said that “ when we met, the Archlich thought I used the Interview as an excuse to go out for a date with him and things went awkward” which resulted in this Top N list).
From there things went rather fast. To here actually. As a celebration for 600 followers (or was it 500? Memory fails me) I began writing Top N, sort of as of a filler in between the Interviews, so actually now this blog has moved back to the biweekly posting scheme very close to the one from 2016. Earlier this year (2018), there was a list about attack on not-Theramore, where I made up a character especially for my timeline speculations - because timeline shenanigans, it is a bronze dragon, and because it is representing me, the character is called Authormi. That is a very poor play on the word “author” (because I am the author of this blog) and the “-ormu/ormi” suffix characteristic for the Bronze dragonflight. Coincidentally, it was also the first time I have referred to myself with any sort of name here on this blog (besides the FAQ where is a link to my main blog) and I am using it since.
An important part of the blog is post maintenance when I try to at least twice a month (but if I’m very responsible, then every Friday evening) go thorough the blog, update the Interview, Top N, and L.O.R.E. pages, delete old request asks and so on. However, over the years a good number of not-request asks had piled up in here. They were…not filtered here and the blog seemed messy with them. Which is why Authormi vs. Inbox tag was created and from time to time when too many not-request asks pile here, I dump them into these post as a sort of archive. I admit that it is not, uh… ideal in case you are looking for something specific, but it keeps the blog clean. Well, cleaner.
The most recent new development of the blog was the addition of the Allied Races leaders - Alleria Windrunner for the Void Elves/Ral’dorei, High Exarch Turalyon for the Lightforged, Jaina Proudmoore for Kul Tiras, First Arcanist Thalyssra for the Nightborne Elves/Shal’dorei, Mayla Highmountain for the Highmountain Tauren Tribes, Overlord Geya’rah for the Mag’har Orcs, and Princess Talanji for the Zandalari. The choice of the leaders is taken from the information on the Allied Races from Wowpedia.
Speaking of Wowpedia, it is my primal source, besides personal experience, when it comes to writing the lists. I used to rely on WoWWiki, but, uh… that one turned a bit messy a couple of years ago and I never get around to check on it now. When I don’t know something, I look it up on Wowpedia. If it’s not on Wowpedia, I consider it a Free Real Estate lore wildcard, which means I can bullshit it out as long as it is lore/character consistent. I pride myself on giving the characters (leaders) some actual character, because, now correct me if I am wrong, Blizzard writers confuse character personality for that wind flapping pole. I am not saying that I am writing “good” or “pure” characters. They have faults, they are prejudiced, foolhardy, depressed (in not romantic ways), mean, holding grudges. Some, like Garrosh, Genn or Gallywix, are more straightforward in their flaws than others, but I am pouring a cup of sour traits to everyone here. (What I am saying here is: Be critical when you read your favorite leader’s opinion. They might not be right and/or honest.)
Overview, as of today, Monday 19th November 2018:
Published 174 lists, 24 more in the queue + bunch of requests hanging in the asks among the posts. (Somebody needs to do their maintenance)
Published 25 Interviews, 9 more in the queue + some in the asks too, I think I saw one request or two.
Published 21 Top N lists (most favoured number for N is 10), 0 in the queue.
1009 followers, woooo! I love you all. Except the 1009th one who is a porn bot, you can go fuck yourself. ‘Xcuse me. 1008 followers now!
The blog is 3 years and 2 days old. Happy birthday!
Authormi’s pick of lists to read (besides the one linked):
What they say far too often: Vintage one, so you see what the old style was like.
What do the think of the heroes: Meta one!
Their pick for a movie night: There were no guesses on what movie is a Ayeroth-verse of what Earth-verse. I am proud of some of those titles.
No Orc Invasion: The first timeline speculation, which I really lvoed. If somebody was to write that AU, I’d read it actually.
If they could erase one person from existence: Another timeline speculation. I like making those!
Draw the squad: Maybe you could draw the squad?
Watching Les Misérables: This one was an especially important journey for me, because this list is why I saw the musical in the first place. Later I read the book too (I love the book), got into some Les Mis RP, made some very good friends out of that… Yeah, I owe this one lovable anon who requested it a lot. (More or less, now I am also a professional Valjean RPer, except I don’t get paid for it. Whenever somebody who knows me joins a new RP server and they haven’t got Valjean, they usually ask me. Like… what? How? Why? Why do you all think I am a good Valjean? Why- Never mind, this is a Warcraft blog. Moving on.)
Spell of the Violent Tongue: The first time it has been brought to my attention that I think about the characters in a way a lot fo other people doesn’t, because this list surprised a lot of readers, and by surprised I mean hit into feels so hard they complained to me. I talked about it with my mum later (family support is an important thing for me and mum is fan of Warcraft), and I’ve been told that “I treat the characters maybe a bit too realistically.” PSA for everybody: Warcraft is a story about broken people and violent racism.
Their God Tier: For the people who are fan of Homestuck too. (Homestuck itself is good. The fandom is weird)
Garrosh’s 37 ghost children: By which they became more or less canon on this blog, a regular stuff which is to be counted with.
How do they insult people: The most recent popular post.
Interview with Azshara: My personally favorite thing I have ever written for this blog, as in, I don’t think I am going to peak it.
Interview with Luxien: Because I want to press Taedal’s story and “expansion” to everybody, read the interview with his older evil sister.
Top 10 favorite characters: I suppose you are a bit curious who my faves are, so here you go.
Top 10 changes to the story I would do: By heart I am a storywriter. I give such things a lot of thoughts. But as I’ve mentioned earlier, lack of dedication is… making things hard.
Other cool stuff to check out (maybe?):
Taedal’s expansion wiki, of course. I have a lot of thoughts about that world and story and… I would love to went about it a bit, too.
This very cool fanfic on AO3.
The official portrait of Taedal.
The official portrait of Authormi.
The description of this blog, as taken from my personal blog:
wowheadquarters (WoW HeadQuarters, World of Warcraft Headquarters, WoWHQ) is by far my most popular blog, despite being younger than SNTS. I add new content twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday. I never thought I’d make more than 10 posts in total, but there we go. I admit that the original idea comes from bleachlists, but it has sort of evolved since then. I am trying to keep the blog not contradicting the canon, but some things in the HeadQuartersverse might not always agree with the official lore
Final words from Authormi:
Oh my fucking god, this is really unbelieveable that this thing is still going on. I never expected this blog to live beyond a month. I never thought I’d get more than 20 followers. I have 1000 now? That’s… is that Tumblr-famous? I’ve never had this many followers. Do you all read this? All the stuff? Am I shaping your view on the Warcraft universe? This is too much power for one person to have.
You want to know what’s actually my happiest memory connected to this blog? It was actually some time back (because my memory is a mess, I can’t tell you how far back), I had a really, really stuffed couple of weeks. A lot of to do, but also mentally exhausted, I was in a bad place for a bit there. Usually I am able to kick myself in the ass, sit down and make up the list on the go, even if it is bound to be miserable wreck of text, I write it. Sometimes when I am super done and tired, I write it on Saturday evening and pretend it’s Friday and so far everyone’s been so kind and there’s been no comment to that. But in those two or three weeks I just… couldn’t. Even clinging to this self-made structure was too exhausting. I wasn’t on Tumblr for basically the whole time (my main blog was fuelled by the queue). Sometimes when I am in a good place, I write lists in advance and schedule them, but at that time no such a thing took place, so this blog went silent without announcement and I couldn’t care less. When I finally found it in me to come online, my inbox greeted me with various people who were asking me if I was okay and whether or not I am still alive written in a very worried manner. And you know… reading that helped me a lot at the moment. It was a reminder that somebody here cares for me and cares for what I do and… Yeah, it was a damn motivation to get myself together a bit and write stuff and do some stuff. Since then I’m trying to announce in advance if I think I am not going to make it, and even then I am still trying to write the list as soon as possible when I am fit to.
A story for your amusement on this “write it when possible” note. This summer I was with my 4 younger siblings (my oldest sister, still younger than I, turned 18 last Thursday, the youngest sibling who also happens to be a sister is 4, but I don’t live with all the siblings, blah blah divorced parents blah blah, not related) and dad and grandfather in the beautiful village (or town?) of Au in Austria. I took my old laptop with me (I’ve got a new one recently) which had battery that could live on it’s own for, like 10 minutes. The house we were living in had no wi-fi, but there was a village-wide public wi-fi… which din’t reach the house. The nearest was at the bus stop, but that one was shaky, and the good reliable hotspot was at the park, 10 minutes of walk away from the house. Now, it was nearly Friday and I needed to post the list. So I wrote it int he laptop’s notepad, then turned off its life support, took it and dashed across all of Au to the wi-fi hotspot, formatted the document into a list, and hit post. About 2 minutes later, the laptop died.
I am thinking about making another blog directly meant for the asks, request or not, and those would stay there. What do you all think? Maybe I would lose things there, I am quite capable of it.
I’d love to talk about Taedal and his demons and his entire story a bit more. But I haven’t got, like, a reason to do so. I am sort of insecure in this matter, I sort of have the feeling that nobody really cares for Taedal here. “What are you thinking, a ‘good demon’ OC?” (Ask me about Taedal and his faction and the Broken and Distant Worlds expansion. I have an expansion and half planned in my head.)
There is some kind of an expectation or anticipation in me to have someone from Blizz discovering this blog and some big consequences happening. I am not sure whether I want it to happen or not. I mean, I am a bit… too-critical of their work in attempt to please the crowd here. (It’s easy to search for flaws when you take the good stuff as the norm. You are actually doing a good job, Blizzard, in the terms of game developing and marketing. But there is that one post going around which says that Warcraft lore/story is written by 9 people who cannot talk to each other. In this spirit, I am sure that there are 4 people writing charcter psychological profiles who don’t know of each other’s existence. Your animation is a snack, though.)
Wow. I suck at summaries. This is as brief as it gets.

Terms and FAQ
As of 4 Jun ‘19
Terms of Use
Don’t reupload anything I create to another file sharing site.
If you do make anything based off my creations, make a decent effort at contacting me. This isn’t for “permission” per se, I just want to know about it. Remember to provide credit to me and a link back to the original Tumblr post (don’t use the direct download links) in your post.
Recolours of my meshes are allowed, but don’t include the mesh if you will be sharing it beyond personal use. If my work is simply a recolour itself, use the original mesh which I used and follow that creator’s T.O.U. rather than mine, since you’re recolouring their work and not mine.
If you do share any recolours (without the mesh, of course), don’t lock it behind a paywall (unless it’ll be made available to the public for free within a week or two) and don’t put the link behind an ad wall (such as adfly).
Don’t share the actual files and don’t share the download links (like SFS links), share the Tumblr post link. This includes /Mods folder sharing. Don’t share your full Mods folder with people if it has anything of mine in it (the fact it’s bad practice to share an entire Mods folder is another point entirely...)
FAQs under the cut
FAQs
What are your Terms of Use?
Look up ;)
Are you WCIF friendly?
Sure. If there’s CC I’ve used on one of my models, feel free to send an ask to jamofjars and I’ll answer you as soon as I can. I try to keep the clothing on show limited to either my own CC or vanilla content. But there are some hairs/ facial hairs that my sims have that they wouldn’t look the same without.
Why do you rarely post?
This is my Creations Tumblr, rather than my main Tumblr. I actually have 2 other public Tumblrs.
I have jamofjars which is my main Simblr, here I post the screenies of my saves when I’ve got some good stories to tell. I always reblog my CC to that Tumblr, as well as reblogging the Tumblr posts of some of the big modders and CC creators who I know and support.
I have another tumblr called HMS Chromakeyed which is way more relaxed and posts very little Sims related stuff. I try to keep it jovial on there, and will post there when I’m feeling inspired to write something. Posts can be long or posts can be short, but I’m a bit more relaxed over there (and complain a lot).
Why can’t I send Asks to this Tumblr?
I don’t accept Asks through this Tumblr, for the sake of cleanliness. However, I’m more than willing to accept Asks through jamofjars. I’ll respond to them there, and (if they’re relevant to this Tumblr) reblog them here occasionally.
I’ve used some of your CC. Want to see?
Yes! I would love to hear from you if you’ve used some of my CC. If you post anything to Tumblr, feel free to tag @jamofjars so I’ll see it. If you use Discord as well, consider joining my server and showing off your screenies there. In short, please show me if you can.
Who do you use to model your CC?
Most of my CC is modelled by my sims, often the sims who I’m playing at the moment. There may occasionally be “guest models” who aren’t my normal sims (or sometimes, not even mine at all) who model, but the ones who crop up on a regular basis are my active play sims generally. You’ll maybe recognise the Swyfts from the Parhayba legacy on jamofjars, so I’d suggest having a look over there if you’re wanting to see more.
Do you take requests?
No, unfortunately not. What I do is highly dependent upon the level of difficulty and my desire to make the CC itself. Sometimes, I might throw out a “What should I make?” on my Discord server looking for ideas and if someone messages me with a good idea, then I’ll consider it. But I will not guarantee anything.
Why do you have a problem with /Mods folder sharing?
Firstly, Mods folder sharing means that you don’t get to see all the CC available, both of mine and of other people’s. So you might not be getting all the best stuff. Additionally, there might be old mods/ pieces of CC which are broken. This is especially the case for Mods folders which are public sharing but can also be the case for sharing among friends. Occasionally, pieces of my CC will be updated, so old versions of those might be around in someone else’s Mods folder.
What type of CC do you prefer?
Maxis Match, I like the cartoon-y feel of Sims 4. I mostly prefer and make male CC too, since I prefer playing male sims and I often struggle to find male MM CC that I like (I’m quite picky). Occasionally I might do other things as experiments or because my interest is piqued, but that’s that I generally use and make.
<Insert CC here> isn’t working for me. What should I do?
Message me, and I’ll take a look as soon as I can. If it’s something simple to fix, then I’ll get an update out, attach an update notice to the post and update the file link. Then I’ll reply to you to let you that I’ve updated them.
If it’s something more serious, I might send you a link to my Discord where we can discuss it in more detail and you send things like screenshots and error files. In which case, I’ll get everything sorted as quickly as I can.
What sites do you use to upload files?
I use Simfileshare, as it’s my personal preference to download from. It’s a file sharing site designed purely for Simmers, so it makes the most sense as the primary download source. I then use Google Drive as a secondary download, since SFS has been known to experience minor glitches occasionally, so I like to have alternative downloads available.
Finally (and more recently), my CC is also mirrored on Patreon posts. These are the Early Access posts which have since been made public. Originally, I was removing the download attachment, and linking to the post, but now I’ve decided to simply leave the download available.
What mods do you use?
Quite a few, and I’m not going to even attempt to list them. I am happy to respond to comments and asks if you’d like to know about one specific mod, or how I do certain things. But otherwise, I’m not going to publish a list of My Mods because that would be WAY too much work to maintain as I add and remove things from my collection.

Learn the best SEO  practices From Best  SEO company in Pune
Learn the best SEO  practices From Best  SEO company in Pune which they follow to beat the competition   Web advancement best practices are a lot of tasks expected to help improve a webpage's web list rankings. Normal site smoothing out prescribed procedures recollect for page improvement, investigating expressions, and building backlinks to a site. Put another way:
There are 1,000,000 things you can do to get higher Google rankings (tallying advanced SEO techniques and procedures).
In any case, it.'s fundamental to get the basics down first.
All things considered: you need to guarantee that your site follows current SEO best practices. That is the foundation.
By then, when you get your foundation set up, dive into new and advanced methodologies.
With that, here are the 10 most huge SEO best practices you need to know in 2021:
1.     The main Keyword needs to be added Early On In Your Content
For Example “SEO company in Pune”
You need to use your watchword a little bundle of times on your page.
Nonetheless, you may not understand that the territory of your watchword also has any sort of impact.
Specifically, you need to indicate your rule expression on any occasion once at the most noteworthy purpose of your page.
Why does this have any kind of effect?
Google puts more weight on terms that appear at the most noteworthy purpose of a site page.
2.     Form Unique Titles, Descriptions, and Content
The evading duplicate substance is maybe the principle of SEO best practice to recall.
Surely, Google has communicated that you should avoid "duplicate or close duplicate interpretations of your substance across your site."
Additionally, this standard applies to each piece of substance on your site, including:
Title names
Meta Description
Sitemap
Landing pages
Image alt text
Category pages
Essentially: in case you convey a page on your site, the substance on that page should be 100% exceptional.
In case you run a little blog with a presentation page and a ton of blog sections, this standard is very easy to follow.
Regardless, on the off chance that you're an online business site page owner with countless things, creating uncommon substance for each page can be dubious.
Fascinating yet advocated, in spite of all the difficulty.
In the event that you're encountering trouble forming content for each page, consider joining pages that have tantamount substance together. Or then again use the endorsed tag.
3.     Improve Your Title Tag for SEO
Concerning on-page SEO, your title tag is KEY.
Here's the way to exploit your page's title tag:
Front-load Your Main Keyword: "Front-load" essentially suggests that you start your title tag with your goal expression.
Why is this huge?
For sure, web records give close thought to the terms that you use in your title tag. Which is the explanation you need your watchword in your page title?
However, what you can't deny is that Google furthermore puts more highlight on words and articulations that show up as it so happens in your title tag.
So if it looks good, start your title off with the watchword that you need to rank for.
For example, I as of now rank #1 for the unreasonably genuine term "online business SEO".
Likewise, my title name starts with that unmistakable articulation.
Every so often it's unfeasible to use your watchword that as it so happens because it will make your title name look unusual. Really, site improvement is critical. Regardless, your title marks ought to be significant for customers too.
(More on that later)
In the event that you're not prepared to start your title tag off with a watchword, no biggie. Basically, recollect your watchword as in front of the timetable as you can.
For example, this page is redesigned around the expression "Site enhancement framework".
I couldn't figure out a way to deal with join the watchword "Site improvement system" genuinely first thing in my title. So I just used my watchword as in front of timetable as could be normal considering the present situation.
It's off-base at the start. However, it's underlying enough so that Google can see that my page is doubtlessly about the "Site improvement method".
Use One Keyword Per Title: Google has been genuinely clear on this.
They needn't bother with you to stuff your title with a lot of different expressions.
Taking everything into account, you need to use one rule expression in your title. Additionally, if your page is first class, you'll regularly rank for that watchword… and lots of others.
For example, this page on my site is improved around the articulation: "expression research".
Did I improve my page by around 630 expressions? No way!
Taking everything into account, I improved my page (and title) around ONE huge expression. Likewise, Google generally managed the rest.
Form Compelling, Shareable Titles: Your title names should make people need to tap on your page to discover extra.
Why?
Exactly when loads of people to tap on your result in Google, you can end up with higher rankings for that term.
Which is the explanation, when my SEO-stuff is managed, I by then start improving my title for snaps and offers.
Toward the day's end:
I endeavor to form title marks that are captivating, persuading, and push people to share.
For example, this once-over of substance displaying instruments has an eye-getting title.
4.     Overhaul Your Site's Loading Speed
Most of the SEO agencies in Pune trying to improve their clients loading speed.
Google usually doesn't talk straightforwardly about the situating segments in their computation.
So when they chatter about a specific situating sign, you KNOW it's not kidding.
Site stacking speed is one of those exceptional situating factors.
Which is the explanation I firmly recommend making your site load as quick as could sensibly be normal.
(Especially on PDAs.)
Your underlying advance is to benchmark your site's present stacking speed. That way, you understand where you're at before you start making changes.
I recommend the super-steady Page Speed Insights instrument.
Regardless, here are several different ways you can improve your site's stacking speed.
Compress Images: This is a significant one. Pictures     will all in all make up most of a page's size (with respect to KB).
Use Lightweight Themes: Bulky WordPress points can back     things off. So if your subject isn't smoothed out for speed, consider     changing to one that is.
Use Lazy Loading: Lazy stacking pictures can uphold     your site's stacking speed significantly or more. The disadvantage is that     photos show up as customers peer down the page, which isn't phenomenal for     UX. So it's a tradeoff.
Use a CDN: CDNs serve pictures and other media on your     site on specialists that are close to your customers.
Track Your Results With The Google Search Console
Most of the Best SEO Company in Pune     are using the Google Search Console In case you don't have the Google     Search Console game plan, you're flying outwardly impeded with your SEO.
The Search Console takes after a live dashboard that discloses to you how your site is getting along in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).
6.     Improve Images for SEO
Picture SEO isn't just for situating in Google Images.
Google starting late nitty-gritty that fittingly overhauled pictures can help your pages rank higher in Google web search.
The Best SEO Company in Pune is using at least one image. So in case you use pictures on your page, you need to guarantee they're improved for SEO.
Fortunately, this is REALLY basic. You ought to just recall these two picture SEO best practices.
Name Your Images With Descriptive Filenames: Google can't "see" pictures (yet). Furthermore, your image's filename is one thing that supports them to understand the substance in your image.
For example, assume you have an image of hotcakes on your site.
7.     Use Internal Linking
Inward associating is one of the easiest SEO best practices to use.
You ought to just add an association beginning with one page on your site then onto the following page on your site.
In light of everything, you would basically lean toward not to add a ton of unpredictable internal associations. Surely, sporadic inside associating is likely in a way that is superior to no inward interfacing using any and all means.
In any case, if you need to exploit internal associations, I recommend executing these tips.
Use Keyword-Rich Anchor Text: Google uses your anchor text as a snippet of data to what in particular is the issue here.
For example, the anchor text in these associations helps Google with understanding what the issue here is.
8.     Appropriate Amazing Content
On the occasion that you've endeavored to learn SEO already, you've probably gotten some answers concerning the hugeness of "first-class content".
Besides, it's real: appropriating interesting, the obliging substances can help you rank higher in Google.
The thing is, what a large number of individuals consider "fantastic substance" has changed all through the latest couple of years.
I'll explain:
Some time ago, you could disperse a 1,000-word blog passage and overpower people.
Today? A 1000-word blog passage isn't a lot.
Undoubtedly, a distributing substance to a blog survey by Orbit Media found that the ordinary blogger presently experiences over 3 hours on an alone post.
9.     Amass Backlinks To Your Website
It's in 2021. Are backlinks still a critical Google situating sign?
That is right!
Another report by SEMrush found that backlinks were insistently associated with higher Google rankings.
10. Improve Your Site's User Experience
Improving your site's customer experience (UX) can direct and by suggestion help with your SEO.
UX can direct help with SEO in light of the fact that Google acknowledges when people start "Pogo remaining" in the wake of showing up on your site from the rundown things.
f enough people skip from your webpage to the web crawler results, this uncovers to Google that your result didn't give that searcher what they were looking for.
Likewise, your web searcher rankings can start to plunge.

4.  How much do you trust the reader?
Oooh, I was kind of hoping someone would ask this, because it opened up an interesting line of thought for me when I saw the question, because my immediate reaction was to be like, “Wait, me trust the reader?  I’m the one who needs to make sure I’m trustworthy.”  For me precautionary things like tags and content warnings and trying to signal as clearly as possible What Kind of Story This Is beforehand are both incredibly valuable and distressingly inadequate tools, because anyone who reads (especially fic, maybe, because that’s a unique emotional experience, like it was saying in that one long post I just reblogged) places themself in a vulnerable position, and the idea of inadvertently hurting or upsetting someone who’s placed themself in that position vis-a-vis my work is very distressing to me.
So I try to– take care of the reader?  And I don’t view that as me distrusting them, just being careful and responsible and trustworthy myself.  This is one reason I really like posting things chapter by chapter, in a forum with commenting enabled, because it gives me a chance to course-correct if necessary.  Not, of course, to change the story appreciably in response to Popular Demand or anything, because obviously not everybody’s gonna like everything that happens and that’s totally OK, I’m not crowdsourcing my plots or characterization, but…
OK, for example, regonym, you (and some others) might remember that when I was posting the last story in the Slave Breakers trilogy, there was a bit where things got Weird between the series OTP (insofar as an aggressively poly romance series can be said to have had an OTP– the focus couple of the narrative?) and one of them was like “oh no he’s fallen out of love with me” and OH MY GOD the distress in the comment section!  People were like “JESUS FUCK IF THESE TWO BREAK UP SO HELP ME GOD” (I don’t mean anybody attacked me about it, nobody actually got hostile or even reproachful I don’t think, they were just feeling upset and unhappy in a way I hadn’t at all anticipated, because I honestly didn’t think anybody would buy that I would break those two up, I thought the reactions would be like “oh poor stupid X, he seriously thinks Y’s fallen out of love with him, that’s so sad, I hope this misunderstanding gets cleared up soon”).  And the thing was that I’d planned to stretch out that misunderstanding even longer, but once I realized so many people were reacting in a way I hadn’t intended, I was able to recalculate and have the characters communicate and reconcile sooner than I’d planned, because people who were giving me the gift of reading and commenting on my WIP and feeling things about it were feeling things I had not at all meant them to be feeling.  I don’t view that as mistrusting the reader, I view it as being a responsible writer, and fucking up as little as possible in exchange for the incalculable gift of the reader’s trust and emotional investment.
(I also value the comments section because it gives me a chance to reassure nervous readers at upsetting parts of the fic.  Remember in The Princess Bride where Buttercup’s in the water with the Shrieking Eels and all of a sudden cut to Peter Falk being like, “She doesn’t get eaten by the eels at this time.”  I try not to be actually spoilery in the comments section but I do try to be like, “Guys, it’s me.  Remember me?  What do you think is going to happen.  Really.”)
On the other hand, I tend to give the reader all the credit in the world for being at least as smart and well-read and observant and experienced of the world as me, and probably more so, so I’ll throw in every random literary reference and quote and oblique implication and fancy narrative trick I think anybody might possibly enjoy, because if nobody gets those then who cares. My main concern is to make sure the meal is as nourishing and tasty as I can make it (for those who enjoy and are nourished by the thing it is), and that allergens are clearly labeled; if anybody notices the carrots are cut in the shapes of cute kittycats or the courses are structured as an homage to Babette’s Feast or the letters in the alphabet soup spell MY DARLING READER, that’s fun too, but way less of a concern.
7.  Be honest: are you mean to your faves, or do you go easy on them?
Well… as we’re all acutely aware, the world is cruel, and I don’t want reading my writing to be additionally painful, because who needs additional pain, but.  In order to really show forth my favorite, favorite thing about the world, which is how absolutely amazing and resilient and kind and loving and brave some people can be in the face of everything being completely horrible all the time, I have to make my favorite, amazing/resilient/etc. characters go through some shit, the way people do.  And do bad things, sometimes, make bad choices and be terribly mistaken and unable to erase those mistakes and the consequences of them; and lose things that can’t ever be retrieved; and suffer in ways they don’t understand, or understand wrongly, because those things, too, are part of the human experience, and if I don’t put my darling characters through them, how is anyone going to believe them or relate to them or see them for the amazing people they are?
(Even when I take the hurt as read and start with the comfort and healing– healing is painful, too, and hard, and takes courage, so.)
One of my favorite randomly profound quotes is from Pretty Little Liars, when one of the girls is upset about certain circumstances of her life and lashing out at her mom because of it, and her mom says sort of tiredly and compassionately, “I know it’s hard, honey, but… it’s not mean.”
I love my faves.  I want you guys to love them too, and see how you are like them, flawed and hurt and brave and beautiful and amazing.  So.  I know it’s hard, but… I don’t think it’s mean.
Thank you for asking!!

Rant time: DC’s Tone Deafness
So I don’t really like ranting or being negative, but DC Universe recently released an article to celebrate pride month about the Top 5 canon and non-canon LGBTQA+ relationships in Young Justice.
And the tone deafness is just off the charts. Like most of the world, I’m not American so I needed someone to screen-cap the actual article for me. I’m going to organize my thoughts and go down.
I forgot to mention she also falls into the “My gender identity isn’t cis, so my sexual orientation is also bi/pan/gay” trope).
And in Season 3 they give Jaime a girlfriend....who is a lesbian in the comics.

Audio Drama Podcast Recs
EDIT: well jesus this thing is getting old! If you’re looking for podcast recommendations I would recommend checking some of the newer posts I’ve made. I’ve expanded my subscription list from about 30 to over 150 in the years since I posted this, & at at this point it’s a pretty inadequate rec list.
Because I’ve gotten a few questions over time about podcast recs, both from people who are curious about audio drama, and fellow denizens of Podcast Hell™ who need something new, I wanted to put together this list so I could go a bit more into detail about why I love and recommend each of these amazing audio dramas.
Rather than trying to rank them, I tried to organize this list roughly based on popularity, at least based on my dash! More well-known shows are listed first, and then my faves that I don’t see getting nearly the love that they deserve. Especially with the volume of new innovative audio drama being created, there’s some really good stuff out there not getting nearly enough attention. Which is not to say that, if you’re a new podcast fan, you have to start with the most popular – but those shows are more likely to have an active fandom. (Of course, there are a ton of great podcasts out there, and plenty (both popular and obscure) that I don’t listen to yet.)
I also have a podcast rec tag and a very long list of audio dramas, if you want to go hunting for something beyond these recommendations here. Additionally, if you want more details or content warnings about any of these shows, feel free to message me on or off anon and I’ll do my best to answer! This post really focuses on the positives of each show and who I think might enjoy them.
WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE – Community radio from a friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, the dog park is forbidden, the mayoral candidates aren’t human, the weather is a mystery, and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep.
If you know anything about audio drama podcasts, there’s like a 99.99% chance you know about Night Vale already. If not, just go listen. It’s weird and amazing and beautiful and helped to make a lot of this possible. Or if 100+ episodes plus live shows is overwhelming, don’t (but come back to it someday. It is magical).
For people who like: surrealism, humor, ‘radio show’ format, somewhat less emphasis on plot, diversity, indie music, experimental storytelling, a large back catalog of episodes, a fandom considered large by regular standards and not just podcast standards.
ALICE ISN’T DEAD – As she travels across America, a trucker tells the story of her search for the missing wife she had presumed dead, of the mysterious danger stalking her down freeways and backroads, and of the much bigger – and more terrifying – mystery she is uncovering.
The first and most popular of Night Vale Presents’ other podcasts. Gothic Americana soft horror lesbians! The writing, atmosphere, and orchestration are all superb, as is Jasika Nicole’s monologue performance. I personally recommend car/transit listening. (Also, you can get the whole soundtrack for free, and you should definitely do that.)
For people who like: surrealism, horror, Americana, female leads, lesbians, atmosphere, introspection, mystery, great music, something to drive to.
WOLF 359 – Doug Eiffel doesn’t want to do his job, Hera is a friendly but faulty AI, Dr. Hilbert is probably a mad scientist, Commander Minkowski wishes she wasn’t in charge of these idiots, and together, the four of them make up the entire crew of the USS Hephaestus space station. It’s not a picnic at the best of times: they’re isolated in a constantly malfunctioning tin can, orbiting a red dwarf star eight light years from Earth, and working for a shady corporation with coworkers they can’t stand. Then Eiffel starts to receive inexplicable transmissions from deep space – and everything gets so, so much worse.
It’s a hilarious office sitcom! It’s a character-driven deep-space sci-fi thriller! It’s a tragic, thematically powerful story about personhood, communication, and isolation! It’s all of those things, often within three lines of one another and frequently all at once! Wolf 359 is probably a masterpiece and now, heading into its fourth and final season, it continues to surprise and impress me every single time. Alan Rodi’s music is evocative and superb and the cast and writing are top-notch. One of the best. Listen to it.
For people who like: excellent character-driven writing, great music, well-written women, a gender-balanced ensemble cast, intimate sci-fi, hilarious and often referential humor, scary corporate overlords, cerebus syndrome.
THE PENUMBRA PODCAST – In Hyperion City, metropolis of a far-future Mars, a private eye named Juno Steel is pulled into life-threatening criminal conspiracies, and tangles with an even more dangerous, nameless thief – who could be his worst enemy or the love of his life. Within the Second Citadel, human civilization is protected by knights who venture out into the jungles to fight the monsters that threaten them – but some knights are discovering monsters who seem just a bit different. On the Painted Plains, a train-robbing bandit steals away a schoolteacher – and her heart. All of these and more are stories waiting to be heard behind the doors of the Penumbra, the grandest hotel this side of Nowhere. And absolutely none of them are straight.
Fabulously written genre-bending “queer AF” anthology show. The best is the Juno Steel series, about a bisexual, nonbinary sci-fi PI, which remains eminently and hilariously quotable even as it wrenches your heart out with genre-deconstructive depictions of mental illness and one of the most believable and emotional romances I’ve seen in ages . The Second Citadel fantasy series is also starting to come into its own in the second season and the standalone stories from the first season are a pretty damn good listen (LISTEN TO THE GAY WESTERN. DO IT.) I love this show, I love everyone from this show, I love everyone associated with this show, and I love Mick Mercury.
For people who like: playing with genre tropes, OTR, noir fiction, diversity, romantic chemistry, a variety of stories, suspense, heartache.
THE BRIGHT SESSIONS – Dr. Joan Bright isn’t an ordinary therapist, but her patients aren’t ordinary patients. Sam’s panic attacks bring on bouts of involuntary time travel; Caleb has it hard enough negotiating teenage emotions without also experiencing the feelings of everyone around him; Chloe can’t escape hearing other people’s thoughts; and the less said about Damien, the better. But Dr. Bright, too, is more than she first appears.
It’s a hard-hitting and poignant show about mental illness and people recovering from deep traumas, and also it is about superpowers. As the concept implies, the show is highly character-driven, and it develops an ensemble cast incredibly well. These guys are friends with the Wolf 359 crew and apparently have taken lessons from one another in how to ramp up a plot from “fun” to “oh god why,” but let’s be honest: that’s what we’re here for. Also, unjustifiably sweet gay teen romance, really cute friendships between ladies, at least one cat.
For people who like: highly character-focused narrative, superpowers, moral questions, ensemble casts, cool female leads, shady government activities, great acting.
ARS PARADOXICA – One minute, Dr. Sally Grissom is conducting cutting-edge physics research in her lab in early-21st-century Texas. A single mistake later, she’s on the deck of the U.S.S. Eldridge, in Philadelphia, 1943, smack dab in the middle of a classified WWII weapons experiment. She’s accidentally put time travel into the hands of the US government just as the nuclear era kicks off. And she can’t ever go back.
I assume everyone has heard of ars P because I assume that everyone knows Mischa Stanton. (They work on what must be like 50% of all podcasts that exist at this point, including The Bright Sessions.) Everything they do is pretty much a must-listen, but especially ars p, the “sad time show” to Wolf 359’s “sad space show.” The writing sticks out to me for its sense of consequence; it’s a major theme of the show that everything that happens will have serious and cumulative effects. Deservedly award-winning sound design. As a bonus, it crossed over with The Bright Sessions; if you like one, you might like the other.
For people who like: sci-fi, period settings, cold war thrillers, cool female leads, time travel with rules, complex and grey moralities, science lesbians, diverse ensemble casts.
EOS 10 – Dr. Ryan Dalias has enough to deal with just as the new head surgeon on a massive space station (alien aphrodisiacs, space anti-vaxxers, mind-controlling plants…) But as if that weren’t enough, his boss is an alcoholic misanthrope who has received an unwelcome ultimatum about his drinking; the nurse may or may not be inclined to bite people; there’s a deposed alien prince in the examination room who won’t put his pants back on; and an intergalactic terrorist who wants his name cleared is hiding in the cargo bay. And those are the people on his side.
I have my issues with EOS 10, not least of which is that it is still mired in a two-year hiatus (though Season Three is finally going into production soon? FINGERS CROSSED). I usually forget those issues when I listen because it’s still a frankly hilarious space comedy and the entire main plot is kicked off because of a potentially deadly boner. Think of it as the strange offspring of DS9 and Scrubs. Come for wild space shenanigans, stay for surprisingly heartfelt storylines about addiction (and even wilder space shenanigans). If W359 sounds cool but maybe a little heavy for you (or if the first season was your favorite), EOS 10 might be more up your alley.
For people who like: Star Trek, comedy, space scifi adventures, alien characters, gay space pirate cowboys, waiting.
THE THRILLING ADVENTURE HOUR – “America’s favorite new time podcast in the style of old time radio.”
An anthology show like The Penumbra which takes a comedic approach to its old time radio inspiration instead (and it is very OTR inspired – not just playing with the same genres). Has a lot of segments, not all of which are created equal; two are standouts. Sparks Nevada: Marshall on Mars (which has a continuous plot) follows a deadpan robot-fighting lawman, the Martian tracker who provides him with somewhat vitriolic companionship, and their various allies across the sci-fi-comedy-western landscape of Space Future Mars. Beyond Belief (which is episodic) stars alcoholic socialites Frank and Sadie Doyle, who may be world-renowned paranormal experts, but who mostly just combat supernatural evils so they can get back to their two greatest loves: booze and one another. It was recorded live, often featuring celebrity guest stars (most notably and frequently Nathan Fillion), and recently ended its many-year run.
For people who like: OTR, forties/fifties culture, really REALLY cute couple chemistry (Beyond Belief), humor, much more lighthearted content, a large back catalog, great music, corpsing.
GREATER BOSTON – Leon Stamatis’s perfectly organized life abruptly ends one day at the top of the first hill of a roller coaster – and that’s where the real story begins. His death will start a domino effect of change rippling through a Boston where activists agitate for subway lines to form their own city, shadowy executives watch over offices where magazine editors predict the future, and Google Calendars are updated from beyond the grave.
Guys, I am never gonna shut up about this show. At this point it’s probably my favorite podcast. Experimental fiction, a sort of regional-gothic-slice-of-life, with a plot that builds into the story of an interconnecting community of people, all of them growing and learning and changing and interacting, even the dead ones. And it plays more brilliantly and hilariously and beautifully and poignantly with format and writing and character than you’d think possible. I sometimes see it compared to WTNV (the “weird town” angle), but I think it’s likely to appeal to fans of The Bright Sessions: its characters may be dealing with incredibly strange situations, but the focus (and the appeal) is the development of those characters and their relationships with one another. Alternately, just literally everyone should listen. It’s that good.
For people who like: ensemble casts, experimental fiction, awesome women, strong character development, lesbians, playing with format, characters named Extinction Event, political intrigue, great music, Boston.
WOODEN OVERCOATS – Siblings Rudyard and Antigone Funn, along with their assistant Georgie, run a funeral home on the tiny Channel island of Piffling. It’s the only one, which is how they remain in business even though Rudyard is a punctuality-obsessed misanthrope and Antigone hasn’t left the morgue in daylight for 17 years. Then the world’s most perfect man, Eric Chapman, opens another funeral parlor directly across the street.
A British sitcom about rival funeral directors in a small town, with all of the dry, witty black humor that implies. "British” does always feel like the best adjective to convey the distinct sense of humor here. Also, it has amazingly high production values. Like, it just sounds really, really good. Also, it’s narrated by a talking mouse. The third season was just announced, so now is a really great time to catch up.
For people who like: black comedy, British comedies, rivalries of both business and sibling kinds, mysterious backstories, just a whole lot of dead people jokes, a more episodic structure.
THE BRIDGE – Once, you could drive all the way across the Atlantic in luxury and style, using the Transcontinental Bridge. Now, the Bridge is virtually abandoned. The employees of its Watchtowers are the only people left to tell its stories: stories about ghosts, about curses and illusions, about vanished and abandoned people and places, about the monsters whose places these were before the Bridge, and the strange and dangerous people who came there to find them.
IMHO, possibly the highlight of the writng for The Bridge is that they can create atmosphere like nobody’s business, and the show has a gorgeous soundtrack to boot. The characters are charming, the plot is intriguing, and the world they are building is like absolutely nothing else. Like Archive 81 below, it might appeal to those who’d enjoy Lovecraft if he didn’t suck so much in every possible way, although it’s much softer on the scary factor.
For people who like: atmosphere, storytelling, great character dynamics, sea monsters, spookiness, really fun ladies, ghost stories, mysteries, the bottomless depths and siren’s call of the ocean.
THE STRANGE CASE OF STARSHIP IRIS and UNDER PRESSURE – Starship Iris is the story of Violet Liu, a biologist forced by circumstance to join up with a ragtag crew of spacefarers to determine whether the explosion which killed every other person onboard her spaceship was really an accident. Under Pressure presents the notes of Jamie McMillan-Barrie, a researcher whose literary background did not prepare her to negotiate the kind of office drama that takes place on a research station at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
Both of these are part of Procyon Podcasting Network, which also has more upcoming shows which I am beyond thrilled about; both are also incredibly diverse, both in-universe and behind the scenes. Both are charming and very, very gay as well as racially diverse; I’m particularly fond of Starship Iris, but everything that comes out of Procyon is more than worth a listen. They’ve started pretty recently and have only a few episodes each.
For people who like: space scifi, found family tropes, workplace drama, human/genderless alien romance, space lesbians, diversity, cool female leads.
THE ORBITING HUMAN CIRCUS (OF THE AIR) – The dreamy, accident-prone janitor of the Eiffel Tower does his best to get himself a place in the fantastical, impossible radio variety show being broadcast from the tower every night. Will he ever be successful? Will the show survive his attempts? And just where do the mysterious and magical acts come from?
Considering it’s a Night Vale Presents podcast and stars an A-list of my favorite underappreciated creatives I was kind of shocked at how little discussion I see. OHC is so charming and dreamlike and heartwarming; it’s like recapturing the feeling of a particularly magical bedtime story. It features Mandy Patinkin singing Cheap Trick and you need that in your life. Also, it has a platypus in it.
For people who like: OTR, John Cameron Mitchell/The Music Tapes/Neutral Milk Hotel, a gentler weirdness than other NVP podcasts, Paris, charm, experimental storytelling.
WITHIN THE WIRES – You are a patient at the Institute. You have been instructed to listen to this series of relaxation tapes to aid in your treatment. You must trust my voice. You must trust only my voice.
NVP’s other highly underappreciated show. WTW manages to tell a narrative in a format (self-help relaxation tapes) I would have never thought possible, and though it’s difficult to say much about what makes it so good without spoiling the effect of that excellence, it’s a great choice if you’re weird-fiction-inclined. Like Alice Isn’t Dead, it also features lesbians. (It may not be good for anyone who has trouble with unreality, disturbing second-person commands, or depictions of institutionalization.)
For people who like: experimental storytelling, WLW love stories, surrealism, dystopic fiction, suspense.
INKWYRM – Mella Sonder was hired to work with a recalcitrant AI, not to be personal assistant to Annie Inkwyrm, head of outer space’s premiere fashion magazine – and the two of them will probably be fighting about that, along with all of the other disasters they get tangled up in, until the star they’re orbiting explodes. Or until they fall in love.
My money’s on the latter (fingers crossed please make it happen), but this show just finished a really fun first season and I absolutely cannot wait for more of it. I’m a sucker for dysfunctional coworker comedy, and an even bigger sucker for girls falling in love; this offers both and is excellent, and is just incredibly done for an amateur podcast. The peeps making it are inspiring and badass and really, really talented.
For people who like: The Devil Wears Prada, scifi, diversity, vitriolic romantic tension, cool female leads, alien characters, wlw romance, incompetently homicidal AIs.
THE BEEF AND DAIRY NETWORK – The number one podcast for those involved – or just interested! – in the production of beef animals and dairy herds.
Honestly almost impossible to describe. What really gets me is the hilarity of how it somehow perfectly imitates the public radio/industry podcast style, delivering you important updates from the world of cattle products, except not from a world anything like ours. Endless beefy fun times with the occasional sharp right turn into body horror and potent unreality played for comedy. This and Alice Isn’t Dead are my dad’s favorite podcasts, which probably says something about him.
For people who like: Wooden Overcoats (it’s by the same folks!), weirdness, humor, much less of a focus on narrative, ‘radio show’ format, satire, rich beef sausages.
ARCHIVE 81 – Dan Powell is missing. He was hired, so he thought, for a simple job cataloguing an archive of tapes for the New York state government: a series of interviews that a woman named Melody Pendras conducted with the tenants of an odd apartment building. Then the story on the tapes becomes impossibly strange and terrifying, and so does Dan’s life.
Another one where I’m not sure whether everyone knows about it and just isn’t talking, but they should be. It’s probably a sign of how fantastic A81 is that it’s one of my favorites even though I ordinarily can’t stand horror. This post really extolls its virtues in a better way than I can. This show has some of the most incredible sound design I’ve heard yet, so if visceral body horror conveyed solely through the audio medium isn’t for you, then neither is Archive 81. On the other hand, if you like extradimensional lesbian apotheosis and the nickname “Boombox Fuckboy,” listen to this. On top of that, the acting is superb. (The creators, Dead Signals, also did an apocalyptic scifi survival-horror miniseries thing called The Deep Vault, which is similarly beyond well-made.)
For people who like: horror, weirdness, found footage format, great music, absolutely stellar atmospheric and action sound design, excellent and realistic acting, The King in Yellow, a ‘Lovecraftian’ feel not based on hatred of anyone who isn’t straight/white.
JIM ROBBIE AND THE WANDERERS – Three trouble-seeking wandering musicians (one brash and upbeat, one an argumentative engineer, and one a grumpy robot brought to life from a radio and assorted cutlery) wander a post-apocalyptic America populated by strange towns and fantasy beings, some friendly, others dangerous.
This is another show that really charmed me right out of the box. Not to mention that it’s a take on “post-apocalyptic” that I’d never seen before – why have grim ruins or cannibalistic societies when you can have giant friendly genderless bees, an NYC inhabited by partying undead, towns full of squid-people, and desert-dwelling leprechauns? It’s much more of a fantasy take on the genre and the characters are incredibly sweet. I was also really impressed by the quality bump it’s undergone over its run so far.
For people who like: fantasy, more lighthearted narratives, fun and creative concepts, a villain called “The Fig-Wasp King,” great music, friendship, cool female leads, diversity.
THE HIDDEN ALMANAC – A thrice-weekly, four-minute show hosted by the plague doctor Reverend Mord, offering historical anecdotes from another world, the feast days of unlikely saints, and useful gardening advice.
Tired of that one analogy from every news article of the 2013 Night Vale boom (“like Stephen King/H.P. Lovecraft wrote A Prairie Home Companion”), writer/artist Ursula Vernon decided to take a crack at recreating Garrison Keillor’s other show, The Writer’s Almanac, in a similar fashion. Compared to WTNV, it comes off as less ‘weird’ and more fantastical, and is on the light side continuity-wise, though both the historical events and the frame show have arcs. In the past couple of years there have been a lot more story arcs, many lasting months, and a lot more appearances from guest character Pastor Drom and other characters. I find it incredibly charming and relaxing.
For people who like: fantasy weirdness, the actual Writer’s Almanac, WTNV, gardening, vitriolic friendships, worldbuilding, short runtimes, less of a focus on plot, large back catalogs, worldbuilding, crows.

Is Discord The Free Slack Alternative for Your Growing Team?
Almost everyone who communicates with people online have heard of Slack. It’s communication software designed to replace email and make team communication a cinch. In a lot of ways, Slack is the industry standard for this kind of app. But it’s not the only player in the game. Discord team chat is nipping at its heels, and as a completely free alternative, puts up quite a fight.
Harmony in Discord
When you first boot up Discord, you will notice one major difference between it and Slack. Slack is business software that is wholly designed to be a workspace first and foremost. Discord, on the other hand, is primarily a communications tool aimed at gamer communities.
But don’t let that dissuade you. Discord team chat is fully featured and does just about everything that a growing team needs, without the cost that comes with Slack for a few of the more important features.
Major Features
Regardless of which software you choose, there are a few major features that make them worth using. The major benefit of these kinds of apps comes in connecting remote teams (and local ones, too) in a way that email and traditional IMs just can’t.
Channels and Private Messaging
In general, the big draw is that you can have separate channels for any number of topics or teams in your organization. For instance, we have a #content channel here at ET in Slack, while there is also a #development and #support and so on. You can also have private channels for smaller groups or topics, like if you go to a conference or have a special project (#wcus2017 or #blackfridaysale, maybe).
And you have private messaging between users, either one-to-one or group messages. You can do anything within a private message you can in a normal channel, only the contents stay between you and the other members of the chat.
For the most part, Discord and Slack both function identically with this. You get @ mentions and all the standard stuff you’d expect out of communication software with Discord team chat and Slack both.
Calls
In addition to private messaging, you can have calls between members of the server. These are VOIP calls like Skype, and they can be audio or video. With real-time interaction the main focus of Discord, the calls and video chats work pretty seamlessly. In my experience, they have higher quality for both audio and video than Skype, Slack, or Google Hangouts.
One check in Discord’s favor her is that instead of having to set up calls, you can just make voice channels. These are channels that still have text chat, but also have an open audio feed where folks can talk and communicate in real time. They can be private or public, and any number of people can be a part of it.
Mobile App
Mobile apps for team chats are necessities. What ends up happening is the chat channels turn into what might as well be text threads (with push notifications to boot), and you can initiate audio calls that come through like phone calls and video chats are essentially Facetime sessions. I’ve personally used both apps on a regular basis for all of the main functions, and neither Slack nor Discord’s app is really better than the other — they both do exactly what they’re supposed to.
Discord Pros versus Slack
Free Forever
You don’t have to pay for Discord team chat. Ever. The paid Nitro service is full of generally cosmetic upgrades (animated avatars, custom emoji); however, there are some upgrades potentially worth it for your team: increased upload limit and HD screen sharing. Since the upgrade is on an account-by-account basis instead of server, the folks who need it can pay as they go.
Also, Slack makes you pay per user, and Discord does not. You can have as many people on your servers as you want for free. Additionally, those users can sign themselves up without getting a special invite (which is not always possible for Slack servers).
Unlimited Messages
With Slack, you get to keep the most recent 10k messages your team has sent. Once you hit that limit, you cannot search the archives unless you pay.  With Discord, you can just keep scrolling and searching. They even give you a handy-dandy before/after tag that you can use while searching to bring up a pop-up calendar widget to hone in. It’s good stuff.
Text-To-Speech Notifications
When enabled, you get “to have a high tech robot speak your notifications to you.” It works surprisingly well, and when you get a lot of messages in a channel or a conversation you’re watching, having it read in real-time makes it a lot easier to get work done simultaneously.
Crazy Control
I say crazy here in the best way possible. With Discord, you can invite anyone anywhere anytime to your server. You can also generate any number of links to do this. If you want an open-invite server, you can make a link that allows any number of users to sign up and the link will never expire.
You can also set a limit on how many uses the link can have, expiration date, and even grant temporary membership so that the account they create is trashed when they disconnect. That way you don’t have people who need a single tech support conversation (or phone interview, etc.) hanging around your server when they don’t belong there.
Additionally, you can create as many servers as you want, just by clicking the + symbol in the left sidebar. So if you want a server for just guests that is totally separate from your primary team’s server (even outside of private channels, etc.), you can do it with a couple of clicks — for free.
Discord Cons versus Slack
Slack Apps > Discord Bots
When it comes to connections and utility, Slack’s developer API wins hands down. You can do so much with dev integrations in Slack that it’s hard for any software to compete, really. From Google Drive to Trello to Giphy, whatever you need to link to Slack, you can. With Discord, there is automation and a developer API, but the bots are generally for entertainment purposes. You could write some of your own, though.
Branding
Discord is aimed at gamers. You might honestly be put off by that. Slack presents a polished, business-oriented theme, while Discord is laid-back and casual. The features are documented with gamer communities and streaming in mind, while Slack’s are productivity-based. For some teams, this might not be a big deal — the branding isn’t actually in the way of the product features.
However, some teams may not be comfortable with having that as the main aesthetic of their business communications (especially if you bring clients online), so if that’s the case Slack is definitely the winner in this case.
Additionally, because of it being deemed as gaming software, some corporate firewalls may block Discord. You’d have to get special permissions and exclusions set up. For smaller teams and companies this might not be an issue, but it is an extra hoop to jump through if you’re in a larger, corporate setting.
One Account for Everything with Discord
With Slack, you have a separate user account for each server you’re on. So if you have a hobby slack and a work slack, you can have two separate profiles (even with the same email address). With Discord, you have a single username (ex: DiviUser#1337) that carries over for all your Discord servers and channels. This allows you to have a friends list (or contact list if you’re using it professionally), but it also makes your two worlds collide if you use Discord for hobby servers, too.
File Sharing
In Slack, you get 1 gb file sharing of any type. In Discord, you get 8 mb. If you pay for the Nitro plan, you get 50 mb. That’s a big difference. Additionally, Discord files are limited to audio and video, while Slack lets you make posts, send and share PDFs, etc. That’s because Slack is a workspace, while Discord is a communications tool.
Verdict: Is Discord Team Chat a Viable Slack Alternative?
Absolutely. Yep. Discord can absolutely be a Slack replacement, and is a viable alternative — especially if you haven’t already chosen a team chat. The Discord voice chat is head and shoulders above Slack’s, and making calls and having video conferences is so much simpler. (The text chat is comparable on both, really, so it’s a wash.)
Slack, on the other hand, is a more complete workspace. The file sharing is much better, and the ability to keep your work and play separate is a must-have for a lot of people. Also, if you’re big into automation, Slack’s apps and Slackbot are way better than the Discord versions. However, the freemium model may not work for all businesses, and paying for access to everything on your server after you’ve grown your team with a certain budget can be pretty disheartening.
If communication is your main focus, Discord is robust and easy to use. While Slack has a few more bells and whistles, they may not be worth the cost in the long run for your team. Do some tests and try them out for yourself since they’re both free to start with, but I think you’ll find that Discord is a lot more than just a tool for gamers to organize play sessions.
Have you tried Discord for your team? Let us know how it went for you!

When To Spend on SEO
The Evolution of Searchengines
Google neighborhood is an particularly powerful approach to checklist and verify your organization
information, providing general public details such as your own company's address for
Google Maps looks, store hours as well as other information related to a
business. Make sure that you keep this data accurate and up-to-date.
Anyone who is thinking about dominating search has to know that it
will take many, many a long time to build up the form of connection, ability and
articles to rank nearly smoothly for particular keywords. The truth of the
matter? You need to perform the maximum quantity of work for the least initial return if
you're seriously interested in gaining any traction along with all-natural advertising online.
Certainly, probably the main way you are able to advertise your organization on the internet would be to
construct a blog where you can post and share supreme quality articles which provides an
surpassing high quantity of price on a normal foundation. This is unquestionably a very
long term plan, also it won't cover off instantly, however every single entrepreneur
should understand the importance of adopting this internet advertising technique.
What does it require to promote your business enterprise online? Without a long time and
years to move the rankings on Google's SERPs, the way can an entrepreneur get
the proverbial term out? There are unquestionably a few strategies to promote your
business which supply a better return on the investment decision of one's time and effort than
the others. Some will take months to pan outside; while some others are going to require months and
decades.
## 11\. Collaborate with bloggers within your specialty.
To accomplish those people, we want amplifiers, power end users and influencers to help
spread our messages. Although this will not be liberated, it is going to provide you quick entry
to a wide audience in your precise niche as long as you choose the best
Insta-gram influencer that will help spread your message.
Studies have shown that folks are more likely to just accept something such as
as opposed to they have been supposed to cover a minimal price to it. So, why don't you offer a free
service or product to your visitors? Maybe you offer a free 15-minute
consultation or an entry product that you wish to provide away.
**Associated:The Difference Between External and Internal Backlinks**
As soon as you've finished this, publish another article to your site such as Moderate or Quora,
also making sure it's keyword-centric, enlightening, unique and provides a lot
of value. Create 1 link from that article using a primary or appropriate
key word straight back to the major article in your own site or site. This is known as content
promotion, which is essentially the most powerful method for gaining traction on Google's
SERPs, although also reaching substantial existing crowds through these authority
sites as well.
Clearly, optimization of one's internet site for relevant keywords is a important
part of promoting your company online. Nevertheless, usually the 1 issue to keep in
thoughts is that when your small business is fresh -- significantly less than just two years old -- and you've
built very little authority or content, then you are going to own a hard time
standing on summit of Google's SERPs for any key word that's slightly
competitive.
## 18\. Utilize pressreleases to convey major company news or events.
Lots of people possess the total forum-strategy publishing for SEO all erroneous. They get
out there and shed spammy links, plus so they wonder why they are booted from the
message boards. You can't do so. If you should be intent on promoting your small business
youtube
online, if you do locate an impracticable forum, then combine conversations and
include value before you try to link-drop.
Certainly, it's hard. That might also be exactly why the planet's leading
search engine optimization pros can control tens of thousands of dollars a hour test, tweak
and enhance internet sites for particular keyword phrases. Surely this is no small feat. Exactly what
individuals do not realize is that you'll find principles building cubes inplace
which make it troublesome to make appreciable traction in excess of a number of months or
weeks.
Email marketing is some thing which each and every business operator ought to be participated in,
but it's no simple feat. To triumph with email advertising, you want to give
something away at no cost in exchange to the consumer's email address. It requires
to be something of significance. If you are intent on collecting emails, choose the
time to develop a totally free report or ebook which will help people inside your market
or area of interest. After that, develop a connection with this specific user as a result of drip-fed
campaigns with a platform like Aweber, Get Response, Constant Contact or
Mailchimp. But don't make an effort to sell at each and every corner and then turn. Combine,
afterward focus on selling.
## 9\. Build customer confidence on platforms like Trust and Yelp Pilot.
Reaching out to popular bloggers in your area of interest might be an effective means to
market your enterprise online, especially in the event that you have some of value in order to add
to a number of these posts. In the event you turn up a popular blogger who writes concerning a
special theme that directly pertains into your line of work, why do not
reach out and look for techniques to collaborate?
No, in the past it had been much more straightforward.
Nowadays, using the ever-pervading ability of social networking, you are able to instantly get to
droves of people from the other side of the entire world in an instant's note. However, we also understand
that algorithms and prominence are working contrary to us notably when we
do not have the range of tens of thousands or millions of followers.
## inch. Develop a blog and also place top quality articles routinely.
## 4\.
Use Facebook advertising and strategically-targeted landing pages.
## How do you market your enterprise on the internet?
You can find Wordpress plugins you are able to use for loaded snippets by means of Schema.org's
requirements, together with plugins such as each AMP and FBIA. Contemplating the
the latest focus on cellphone by Google and face-book, by way of example, having AMP along with
FBIA content provides you with some small gain over people who don't, raising
your visibility on SERPs and in news feeds.
## 10\. Utilize snippets, FBIA and AMP.
## 6.
Make useful video lessons on YouTube.
Affect the Ability of Instagram influencers.
## 15\. Boost your internet site to get search engine optimisation.
Does construction a noteworthy site in virtually any business or market help
drive visitors from raising the interest of Google, however nonetheless, it also results in making
authority. In the event that you're able to grow to be an authority on your industry, you're exude the
eye of people, both the media and small business owners equally. That, in turn,
will muster, build more authority, and enormous amounts of
visibility and sales.
Face-book advertising, while not liberated, offer a great prospect for reaching the correct
demographics for your business. As long as you know-your-customer properly, you
may make use of metrics like interests, geographical place, marital status, age and
more, to track down prospective consumers to send strategically-targeted
landing pages, and additionally called squeeze pages.
In case you are looking to get some early traffic, and you've got a rather fresh domain
-- maybe less than two years old using little power built upward -- you need to focus with
marketing and advertising your content on internet sites like Moderate and Quora. How does it operate? Write
a single high tech item of content onto your own website. Make certain it's key word-
centric, insightful, exceptional and provides a lot of significance. Ensure that all
you are speaking about assists people in some way, form or shape.
Press announcements aren't planning to secure you immediate press coverage. While some
media professionals will utilize outlets such as Assist a Reporter, or even even scour
press-release sites such as PR Web, you are likely not planning to get any kind of
minute news coverage by simply putting a press release.
A fantastic way to make this happen is always to offer your professional services to get a guest blogger.
Obviously, you'll have to have a fantastic background on paper, and it
might be difficult to come across a favorite blog prepared to permit you to do this, but
it'd be worth an attempt in case you eventually procure a guest article.
## 7.
Grow a connection with your visitors through email advertising.
If you are running a neighborhood company and looking to attract local customers to
a popular locale or providing a expert service that's
geographically-specific, you need to put your organization on regional business
listing websites like Yahoo Local and Google Local.
## 17\. Give a talk in a professional seminar or on a training.
Trustpilot and Yelp are specially dedicated to assisting consumers get the
perfect organization to do the job together with, and it increases transparency by offering previous
customers' experiences with the organization. All these websites will be the most significant from the
globe for online critiques and may be leveraged to support build trust with
prospective clients.
But today, with all the evolution of Google's core search algorithms, and in
the aftermath of major alterations which have gone from titles such as Panda, Penguin and
Hummingbird, being seen online is now conducive to obtaining a doctoral
level in physics or mathematics.
There are a lot of most high-domain authority internet sites you could post pictures and
videos onto create a subsequent. Pintrest, Flickr, Tumblr and Instagram come to
thoughts. Utilize relevant hash tags and descriptions to correctly categorize exactly what
you are posting around, and then accompany with others in your industry or niche post with
these hashtags.
YouTube offers a great reference for promoting your company around the internet. Whilst
you may possibly find some friction at the beginning for constructing your own audience, in case you
focus on creating video tutorials that are useful, finally, you will attain a huge

Gamified Marketplaces: Cracking Amazon, Ebay, Flippa and Beyond
Introduction
Those who are familiar with my work see me as an Amazon guy. Well today, I hope you see me as the eCommerce guy. I am going to open your eyes to the eCommerce marketplace and why it is easier than ever to not only succeed but to dominate in 2016 and beyond.
The first thing I want you to realize is eCommerce marketplaces give you opportunities to exploit them. They do this by giving you data, for example, search result pages (every commerce site), reviews (every commerce site), bestseller rank (Amazon), sales history, and feedback of sellers (eBay and Amazon), etc. All these pieces of data can be manipulated in your favor. These pieces of data should be used to create conditions for a successful product launch.
The Traffic Problem is Solved…Here’s Your Job
One of the hardest things for any new eCommerce brand is to get traffic and at the same time convert those potential customers. Marketplaces sustain the traffic you need to make continuous sales. The job of you, as the seller, is to prime your product listing(s) so potential buyers see your product, can evaluate if it is what they are looking for, and see your product as the only option to buy. To do this, you must prepare your product before doing any extensive advertising or launching.
Prepping Your Product For Launch
When I mention “launch” in this article, I simply mean marketing your product or advertising your product to a niche community (product hunt, niche forum, magazine ad, YouTube Channel) or even spending advertising dollars yourself with ad platforms (Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, Amazon PPC, etc..) A launch can also be a giveaway or contest to get your product in the hands of potential customers.
There are three steps to follow when it comes to any placing any product on an eCommerce platform.
Step 1: Perfecting Offer Presentation and Search Engine Optimization
Step 2: Positioning (particularly in the keyword search result pages for product offer)
Step 3: Launch or promotion of that product.
All these steps can be utilized to affect your bottom line.
First I’m going to go into what can be done on all platforms. Then I’ll break it down to specifics.
Step 1: Offer Presentation and Search Engine Optimization
Offer Presentation
Be sure that your product offer looks as professional as possible. Make sure your product description covers all the questions a potential customer may have. Additionally, your product photos should be of the best resolution. The stock photos provided by your manufacturer simply will not do.
Search Engine Optimization
The first step to every commerce profile is the SEO or the Search Engine Optimization. The main thing is people need to find your product when they type it into the marketplaces search box. So we use the familiar concept the “keyword” or “keywords” that will describe your product and allow it to be found.
How do you find keywords? Top of mind analysis, the keyword for “Double A battery” is obviously “Double A Battery.” But how are most people typing this phrase in (Two Options: Double A Battery or “AA Battery”) which way is most popular.
Three ways to confirm:
The search box suggestions of the platform
Go to the Internet’s keeper, Google, and use their Adwords tool: Keyword Planner
There are also spy tools you can use, simply search “keyword spy tool [insert marketplace]” to see if they are available for your ecommerce platform.
Once you find the keywords, you will place them in your title or tags.
Note: Put keywords in your description of the product as well. Many people forget this and simply list features.
Steps 2 and 3
  Positioning (Social Proof)
You can consider these the next steps of offer presentation.
Before the big launch or any promotions, you need social proof for your product. You will need to generate some activity that signals to prospective buyers that your offer is good. On Ebay, this activity sign could be watchers or few sales you have already made with the product. On Amazon, and most other marketplaces, this is signaled by reviews of your product. The most basic rule of sales on any marketplace is the more activity (reviews, sales rank) the higher your conversion rate (percentage of people who land on your listing and purchase vs. those who land and do not purchase).
You want to have some semblance of activity before you start advertising your product to the general niche audience. Skipping this step your product offer will most certainly fall on deaf ears.
The next metric you can manipulate, is “reviews.” In this metric, we will also say ratings (one, two, three stars rating) count as reviews as well. I am going to start by saying; sometimes it is okay to “cheat.” The biggest companies in the world fake tests, hire celebrity doctors, misquote, and hire actors in attempts to prove to you their product is the best. It is okay for the little guy to do this too. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is aware of this practice too. Hence the small font you see at the bottom of most commercials with testimonial sequences. It is okay for your reviewers to state I got this because of a contest or I received this product at a discount. You can hire someone to review or ask friends and family.
The Launch
You can also host a contest or giveaway requiring buyers to leave a testimonial or review. There is nothing wrong with doing this. People need to know your product is good; you cannot contact them personally and vouch for your product. The ethics here is in the product you sell; sell high-quality products that actually solve the problems of your customers.
The next metric is sales history; maybe you can manufacture a few sales with friends and family. Due to budget issues for most, this aspect is limited. So you have to perform what is known to the Internet marketing world as a “launch.” You have to present your product to a large number of people, hopefully, a targeted audience. This can be an email list, Facebook Group post, Twitter post, or Instagram shoutout from an influencer (paying them for advertisement is also in the cards). Focus on finding a large number of people who might be interested in what you have to offer.
Now We Move to Specifics
  Amazon
My favorite is Amazon. This marketplace has been completely cracked. I you haven’t read my breakdown go here, if you’ve read it before I have added some things so please review: https://www.reddit.com/r/Entrepreneur/comments/33ix6y/want_to_buy_an_amazon_course_let_me_save_you_5000/
Ebay
Ebay is a little backwards when it comes to listing optimization as you have to keyword stuff in the title and description of your product or offer. Now you can manipulate Ebay’s search rankings in the same way you can with Amazon. You do this through sales history and Watchcount. Sales history is a little difficult, but watch count is much easier to manufacture. Just go Fiverr’s search bar type in “eBay watchers.”
The in-demand categories it can still be hard to rank. There are sellers selling an iPhone 6 every hour and an iPhone case every two minutes. So with this, you find speed to market is also a shining factor in eCommerce, especially regarding Ebay.
Of course, an excellent Ebay HTML description is also necessary and can be found as a Fiverr gig for that as well.
Flippa
Flippa is weird in that; the focus is centered on seller history rather than offer specifications. Again, in this instance sales, history is difficult to manipulate. Flippa’s search results pages operate much like Ebay and Amazon and are manipulated through offer listing activity. Again, go to Fiverr and type in “Flippa” and look for gigs that say they will increase activity in your listing.
Udemy
Udemy’s Search Result Pages (SERP) is heavily keyword, and activity focused. The best way to bring your course to the top of the SERP is a Free Coupon coupled with a promotion from Fiverr. These combined with a course that measures up to your competition regarding length and perceived value (price), will make you successful in some form. You should put an excellent and detailed description and have your course have something extra added, for mine, I have a textbook and exclusive deals with services I mention within the course.
To the Pessimistic Commenter…
Can marketplaces read this and change to close the loop?
Yes and No. These platforms optimize through search result pages so that you are more likely to buy what returns. How can they determine what you will probably buy? The common thread among all these marketplaces is buyer activity, offers that either received a consistent or a burst of reviews, sales activity, watches, etc. It would be a disservice to themselves and customers to end this activity — optimization because it simply works. The very basics of capitalism the cream will rise to the top through competition those less innovative with inferior product offers or listings, or just lazy in their listing’s promotion will fall to the bottom.
Conclusion
Realize though these sites can be exploited, the responsibility of finding a good product offer relies on you. In terms of physical products, see Watchcount.com or Amazon’s Top 100–2000 BSRs (see Amazon post for in-depth look at finding products: Amazon FBA for Beginners).  For Flippa, you want a good-looking site that can be heavily automated.  Udemy’s most in-demand courses focus on something with the potential for those to earn money like coding, accounting, dropship e-commerce, and solo ads.
