I really hate the way my favorite artists are treated by the general public. Most of them are women so basically all of them are mistreated in some way and it’s so goddamn exhausting.

i’m not prepared to fight the people who would normalize it. “well, they saw it happen!” “he was making a statement!” there are better fucking ways to go about it. dressing as a 9/11 victim is completely insensitive. it was a catastrophic event that still affects people to this day.

i’d like everyone who has supported this idea to sit down and google videos from that day. watch the planes hit, the billowing smoke, the people jumping from the towers. watch civilians flood the streets and the sky go dark as they all rush home to their families, every fucking one of them fearing for their lives. think about the aftermath—the spike in hate crimes, widespread trauma, the grief that hung over the country.

my opinion on the band will absolutely be altered if this happens. as you mentioned, it’s a major role in mychem’s story, but it’s also unacceptable on so many levels. i hope they know better.
