You have the opportunity to bring 15 items from Earth to Teyvat, when you are isekai’d to Genshin cult au. However, these commodities should be strictly exclusive to Earth, meaning that it cannot be something that can easily be replicated in Teyvat.

Create a list with the top (1) as the highest priority, and the bottom (15) as the least. Then, use a number generator to determine how many are isekai’d with you. For example, if you rolled a 6, then only your first 6 items will be waiting for you in Teyvat.

Pfooo- this was actually harder than I thought! At first I panicked because if it were ImposterAU I'd be in BIG trouble (mainly because I'd be unable to bring weapons. Teyvat has all weapons, and if they don't, it'd be easy to replicate,) but CultAU should give me some slack,,, right??

Laptop

I chose a laptop specifically because the Dodocommunication device is a replicated form of a phone, so I wouldn't be able to bring one of those. But laptops are harder to replicate? I'm p certain that there are no TV's or computers in Teyvat yet!!

2. Chicken nuggets

Should this be my priority? No.

3. A different breed of dogs

Maybe a feisty chiwauwa that steals all my affection and time. 10/10 best method to make people jealous. Bonus points if the dog only loves me and barks at the acolytes when they want to try and talk to me

4. A science book.

I know khemia and alchemy exist, but our technology is more advanced(?)/different than Teyvat's. If there is anything special in a thick science book, it might boost Teyvat's knowledge! I would only give it to Albedo though. If it falls into the hands of dottore or marionette I'd have caused the world's end

5. Antibiotics/One of those basic headache pills

They probably don't need to exist due to healers in Teyvat, but perhaps it might boost the medical knowledge of Teyvat? Perhaps it's more accessible? I get pains a lot so it'd be nice

6. Mp3 player

Easy accessible music. Even if there's only one song on it, it will bring comfort.

7. Headphones

Pretty sure these don't exist yet? Not the ones for music at least. I'd need it for the mp3/laptop to fully access it.

8. Any religious books

If the cultAU gets too much for me, I'll use any religious book (from Earth) in my advance! I'll try and make them believe that I'm human instead of some deity. Tbf this could backfire REALLY QUICK but it's worth trying as a plan-B

9. Smoke bombs

This might be cheating because it's easily re-creatable, but I feel like it wouldn't be created unless I'd bring one? And I'd be LMAO when I drop one of them smoke bombs near Jean. She'd get flashbacks to Klee's bombs and I'd like to keep them on edge at times.

10. Bubblegum

P sure it'd scare at least one person when I pop it

11. Merchandise

Specific movies/mascots can't be recreated in Teyvat. I really like the rilakkuma bears so maybe I bring those? It's not to benefit of anyone besides my own comfort

12. Megaphone

Can I bring this one anon? It might be easily replicated but I doubt anyone would-- should they see the chaos it brings

13. One of those furbees

14. Anything Dinasaur related

Perhaps dinosaur nuggets? I'd convince them that it's a small breed of animals that used to be REALLY big but now we eat them for dinner with ketchup

This would've been higher on the list if I actually had the guts to walk around with a body pillow. Bonus points if it's Dainsleif (bc he hates gods doesn't he? Would be kinda funny imo)

Everyone are having doubts do you still believe in byler endgame and if you do how you think will be? Not what do you wants but what really will happens knowing the duffer and how they write the show.

Hey anon, thank you for the ask!

As far as Byler goes, I'm still at the same point I've been this entire time...I honestly and truly believe that the writing has hinted at, suggested, alluded to it being real. I h lol ave personally been on the "wrong" side of a different major fandom (which I won't mention here)---ridiculed, called crazy, obsessive etc--to then have everything we had claimed from the beginning be proven true in the final act. If you want to know what I'm talking about you can probably figure it out from my profile or you can message me and I'll go on that rant in private lol.

Either way, my point is.....everything that is happening in this fandom...mimics that one entirely. It is a fandom that is dominated by a generally male, white, hetero-normative point of view. And so I think it's easy to lose hope, it's easy to give in to those people telling you that you're crazy for seeing what you're seeing.

But what it comes down to in the end is, most of us have been here since season 2. Most of us have been noticing the hints for years. And after season three, I'm not really sure what people are looking at if they are not seeing the complicated relationship that Mike has with El and Will. It is a canon fact that he cannot balance them emotionally. When one is in his life, the other is out. Season 3 proved that when they are both in his life at the same time, he cannot make it work. When he is paying attention to El, he is hurting Will. When he is paying attention to Will, he is hurting El. And this all comes to a head in season 4.

And season 4 is interesting to me because once again, El is (after a few episodes) quickly removed from Will and Mike's immediate story line. Mike, once again, ends up with Will in situations that make them work together. Situations that make them be emotionally vulnerable with each other. Situations that allow them to become closer.

I firmly believe that there is a reason, besides Mike being emotionally stunted by his family, that he can't say "i love you" to El. I think that the writers' had specific intentions when they wrote Mike's "love confession" to El as a direct response to Will's emotions. I firmly believe that if I was supposed to be rooting for El and Mike to be together, I as an audience member, would have been given a private, softly lit, romantically coded emotional scene between Mike and El post "2 days later". But we didn't. The softly lit, emotional, intimate moment we got? Was with Will.

Furthermore, El and Will have been directly paralleled since season one and since season 2 both of their storylines have directly revolved around Mike. And one character, Will, has been the one that has been show to need and want Mike in the way that he needs to be needed and wanted. Will has been the character that specifically benefits from Mike's attention and love. El's journey has always been for herself. It has always been figuring out where she belongs in the world and claiming her autonomy from Brenner (and Henry and many others).

As for how I believe the Duffer's will accomplish this? I have as good a guess as the rest of you. I am just a humble fan. But from the context clues that we've been given throughout the show....I have a hunch that El and Will will discover some sort of connection between the two of them. This connection will probably directly relate to the pull they feel towards Mike. I think that El will continue her journey from season 4 of self-discovery and standing on her own two feet, rejecting the men (people) around her who tell her they know what she wants/needs/desires. I think that Will will have his "coming of age". He will finally accept himself for who he is. I think it will be revealed that Will has some sort of direct connection to either the Upside Down or Henry himself. I think that he is the "cure" or the "key" to healing what has been broken. I really love the "wonder twin" idea that Will and El will work together to defeat Vecna.

And finally, I think that Mike, the knight, the paladin, the heart of the party....he'll finally realize where his heart truly lies. And Will, understanding that his love is reciprocated, that their love is true. I really think it will, in some way, (even if it's one small working part in the huge machine that is Stranger Things), help defeat the evil that has reigned over Hawkins for too long.

Maybe I'm too much of a romantic. But I'm gonna continue to believe it until I'm proven wrong. I will be the first to admit defeat as it comes, but for me....

There are just too many parallels, hints, subtext etc. for me to believe anything else at this point. I don't think the Duffer Brothers are pulling our leg, I don't believe they are trying to queerbait us, I don't believe they made this show for the people of Reddit and Facebook. I truly think, when they said it was for the "outsiders" and the "misunderstood" they meant it. And imo, Byler is a real part of that that will be made clear in the final act.

I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just coming here of your own accord. I doubt he'd send people to bother me.

That being said. I didn't do anything. I knew that someone was bothering him and had dead-named him, but he never told me who. It was just some random anon that appeared in my inbox one day, which I ended up either blocking or deleting that anon. I believed him that it was just some idiot because I've had the same issues of people trying to cancel me.

As for harassing him....you mean the TWO comments I left asking to talk to him. Yes, I will fully admit that I should've let it go, but I was curious. He was still following me at the time on Twitter, so I took that as a sign. Plus, I was mildly panicked. Not even the first time I've done something like that. Maybe I need to think it through more.

But yeah, that was it. The only other messages I have of him is him saying that we talked in the past, while he was under a different name. Idk, maybe we did. I have a crappy memory.

Other than that post that got put on Twitter, I have not done anything else to Dainty. I only went to that person because they seemed to have a bit more knowledge than I. People making those kinds of posts don't automatically make them a stalker. Hell, if that were the case, then the shit that I had with Trick and 6c6 was "stalking". Besides, I only went there because of the behavior he gave me was written somewhere in one of those claims, as well as having similar experiences.

Is it wrong that I talked to someone else and allowed them to post those screenshots? Maybe, but I did my best to talk this out with Dainty. He immediately assumed that I had made that post about him, even though MANY MANY people use the same words, practically the same sentences. It's understandable for his reaction, but I said it wasn't what he thought. Yet he still blocked me. Plus, this isn't the first time he has talked over me, while being upset with me. Unfortunately, I dont have screenshots of that moment, so take it with a grain of salt if you must.

Anyone who follows me knows that I don't go out of the way to make enemies or make "gotcha" posts unless deserved. None of what was said was meant to upset him nor was the wording even vaguely directed toward him.

I'm not gonna sit here and make it seem like I'm some "victim" because I am a little guilty of fucking up. However, I also don't appreciate him unblocking me, just to leave 14 messages of guilt-tripping and trauma-dumping....and then block me again. Like, again, maybe I shouldn't have just easily allowed something like that to be published, but it's just something that didn't feel right to me.

If you wish to unfollow and/or block me, you are freely allowed. Just please know that I genuinely, genuinely (even now) mean no harm. Whatever prerogative that Beep person has, does not align with my thinking. I just wanted to bring out that ONE thing because, in my eyes, it did feel wrong. and it IS imperative to know WHEN these new types of posts are being posted. who knows maybe mailin will organize some feminist movement n zoe will post a pic w no make up to participate. maybe she'll post an ugly hangover selfies after a major party during the season. these are not the Only types of pictures/stories she'll post. but u cannot deny the intentional timing of zoe, finn's ex, suddenly acting n posting like this out of the blue at the exact same time mailin, finn's new interest, is clip after clip emphasizing how much she dislikes the idea of sex/touch & fighting against the objectificaion of women. also literally as i was typing this post out zoe posts a new pic n i was pleasantly surprised to see it's just a cute silly butterfly ring :) oh and also the last slide is her sliding her hand up her thigh w the camera angle almost showing up her skirt :)

sometimes i'm an asshole, n more frequently than that i can be short w ppl (sometimes even when i don't intend to). i'm far from perfect, n i've been even further from it n def have my share of shit i can look back at n wish i'd handled better (nothing so atrocious as implied here), but the only reason i can look back n feel that way is bc i continuously strive to grow n learn n become more aware. like, i grew up in a time w very different social norms, no access to information that couldn't be found in the local library or experienced firsthand if within biking distance, n was raised by parents from an entirely different culture than where i grew up. we've all got our challenges, but my point is that in many ways my process will have necessarily looked a lot different than it does for a massive amt of the active tumblr base. i'm sure many others here around my age or older or w v different backgrounds from the "average" blogger feel similarly. blah blah but yeah thank u sincerely.

i understand the anons to a point, but it's rly fucking tiresome bc i've talked many times on various iterations of this blog abt problems w age gap relationships, i've answered questions abt how young/old i'd date in great length, most of the women i've dated were roughly the same age as me or older, i was a minor the only times i've had anything approaching sexual contact w a minor (n even then i was the younger partner although not by much), i've pushed ppl away for being too young for me even though they were adults, n i've never pushed someone away for being too old for me, n blah blah barf wtv.

also, ngl, a lot of fucking ppl here r simply ageist, but still i understand the v real threat n the fact that sometimes it's simply a lot smarter to write someone off rather than to give them the benefit of the doubt when the stakes r too high to risk it. however, i wholeheartedly feel like the ppl who come for me here r coming for exactly the wrong person, bc i'm literally over here saying stuff that a massive portion of the population would find reprehensible, n i'm doing it of my own volition. i've talked many times abt my own ongoing effort to integrate the most potentially dangerous n fucked up parts of myself (most of which were put on me n many of which r a result of my v own past bad decisions) into smth healthier n worthwhile. if ppl don't wanna believe that, well, that's not a me problem. unfortunately, however, ppl can still cause v real damage n make it my problem simply by making accusations or mischaracterizing interactions or attributing motivations that don't/didn't/never will exist etc. i wish they'd turn the attention they're giving me to ppl actually out there motivated by a desire for the gross shit instead of coming for someone who isn't motivated by that gross shit n consistently strives to take ownership of his actual shit, but i can't exactly expect anyone to be able to see in the dark.

I lied when I said it was kinda important. I didn't want you too worry or air out my trauma in Intro to Data Science. It is extremely important and I need you. I need you to know your one of my best friends. At the end of the day no matter how much I get on your ass for not being responsive, I Love You. I've been putting a lot of effort to reach out to you and ask for help after such a recent traumatic event but I have just gotten Silence I'm not even getting excuses I can only imagine what your reasoning is. Some of my ideas give you the benefit of the doubt and the other ones are alot more scathing but I want to be wrong. Are you feeling depressed and unmotivated again because I can help you if your here with me, do you think your unlovable because I love you why does it matter if it's romantic, do you hate me now do you want me to leave you alone because I can. I would rather you told me you want me dead then to leave me in anxiety over how you feel I just want to know. I stg all xreader slash stories are just 'I'm just a normal girl, who lives in this rural farm town where there is nobody for miles around, it would be a damn shame if this *insert vague yet somehow incredibly detailed description of the future love interest* fella were to kidnap me, a hot, skinny gal with h/c hair and e/c orbs'

Hey anon. So im not really sure what exactly you're implying or if you meant it as like talking shit about my work or anyone else's work, but I will give the benefit of the doubt and answer normally and if I get any similar messages im simply going to delete and block. Cause the vibe im getting is that you're looking to start something but because of the vague message I'm not sure exactly what. So here's an answer. Might not be what you want but its an answer.

I'm not really sure if its my writing or someone else's you're upset with but at least in my case I don't think I've written something like this, I tend to leave reader features out of my headcanons and fics so that more people can relate to the story. Obviously im not perfect but I think I try my best and if there's a specific instance where I accidentally use pronouns or descriptors in a reader fic then im fine with it being pointed out so I can fix it. Also in the case of skinny reader I don't think my works really give off any specific type of body type vibe unless I explicitly am writing for a chubby reader. Though as a chubby woman I tend to write my stuff and imagine my body type but keep it out of the fic because again, not everyone is the same body type. Also as for the scenario like some people have different tastes so like if kidnapping isn't for u then thats fine dude. Like I dont know what else to tell u on that front other than people like different things lol

Obviously I can't speak for anyone else, however I dont feel comfortable with any sort of putting authors down on this blog. Everyone writes in their own way and has their own tastes and what they enjoy writing and there's nothing wrong with that. I know there is a conversation to be had about making reader characters more neutral of features in general so that more people can relate to them, but your post doesn't seem to come off as being very productive on that front, it seems more argumentative and like you want to start a fight or put someone's work down and that obviously isn't helpful for anyone. I suggest if these types of fics bother you then to not read them as this is what i do if something doesn't particularly vibe with me. There's plenty of authors out there and im sure you'll vibe with someone's work.

after the main dancer was chosen for each class, they would complete the choreo and decide formations for their performances. one of the benefits of the main dancer was that they were always center. they also had the benefit of wearing more embellished clothing to stand out (most noticeable in x class, where rian the main dancer was wearing orange while everyone else was wearing green). here is the full list (mnet truly has the WORST camera angles, so i only included the full cam ver of the performances):

the judges shared that even though no:ze was the main dancer/in the center/had the most shiny outfit, they didn't really see her. all the other dancers, in their opinion, stood out and overpowered her.

judges shared that lip j was the stand out of this class. she's the girl on the far left at 0:36. (it was originally her choreo but rian was chosen as the main dancer so that's why she is credited.)

*i only included comments that were stand outs.

i'm not sure how much creative input the main dancers were given regarding stage design... they didn't show it in the episode so i'm assuming that mnet just told them to show up and perform (because like, the rainbow thing they shot at the end of the leader's performance seemed so random? it didn't match what they were doing). after each performance, the main dancers from each class were asked to pick someone who they thought was the worst dancer. in doing so, the person chosen would lose points for their crew.

judges also chose an mvp crew they thought were the best. prowdmon (monika + lip j + others [sorry i don't know their names. the show really only focuses on these two]) was selected and this gave them the advantage of choosing which crews went against each other in ep4. so, it wasn't a random lottery draw! in the episode, they only showed the part where prowdmon chose to go against wayb (context: no:ze, the main dancer from the leader class, chose monika as the worst dancer. and this made her mad so she was like we're going against wayb - no:ze's crew). i'm not sure why they didn't show how the other crews were paired up. because ya, coca n butter + hook is definitely an interesting match.

also like, wayb was eliminated from the show after ep4's mission.

and it seems like from here on out, there will be a mission each episode to determine who will be eliminated. i'm honestly not too sure. for their next mission, they're doing a mega crew mission and mnet doesn't really explain it; but it seems like each crew is doing a performance on a larger scale (with more members added to their crew). also, like mnet is ass and doesn't upload all the performances onto their channel..... they only upload the ones that were the most popular/had the biggest public reaction which is why i had a hard time finding the clips for the classes mission. hopefully they do from here on out.

another v long post. thank u again for reading and sharing ur thoughts! always love hearing them. (also, pls let me know if i'm oversharing. u mentioned not caring for the competitive nature and drama so i'm not sure if i was adding too much. there really isn't drama imo. mnet tries to do their best to edit and make it seem that way but when u watch the show, the girls truly root for each other and are friends.)

mnet truly has the worst camera angles i hate them so much. also why are they still streaming on a goddamn potato. the quality is SO bad i can barely see anything!! there's a lot of me complaining in this one i'm sorry in advance.

1. assistant class

i have to assume that whoever they chose as the main dancer is the one that stays in centre because i cannot tell from the clothing at all. i don't think she was a standout performer here, but also the camera and the fire effects are WAY too wild to actually get a good grasp on who even was the standout. i also have to assume that the dancers have no say in the design because design is not a big part of street dance and this kind of chaos screams m 'too-much-money-dont-know-how-to-use-it' net. they built this massive set, barely used it, and didn't leave enough room for the proper formation spacing!! ugh. i hope the judges actually got to see a locked off version of this without all that fire in front of the camera because if i were them i would be squinting down the end of my glasses like a grandma at the screen. that's what i was doing anyways but still.

2. leader class

i have to agree, i don't think noze stood out as the main dancer here. and geniunely i cannot tell that they embellished her costume more. like damn, that stylist took a masterclass in subtlety, because i was easily paying more attention to whoever was wearing those massive thigh high cutout garter stockings and woven bodysuit combo. i am assuming that the point of these challenges was probably to be noticed the most so that they can score points and pick who they went up against for the elimination round? i'm not entirely clear but my point remains; ngl i don't really like this method of creating performance because it means that no one is there to create a performance, yanno? troupe/group choreo like this thrives on teamwork to actually make it a good performance. i know it's a pretty classic method of weeding out people for auditions and stuff like that but personally i find it a wholly uncompelling viewing experience, especially when it's a fully produced stage like this. i know everyone very likely gets along behind the scenes but the incohesion of intent is very obvious. also what's up with the assistant class getting a massive set and the leaders getting a bunch of cars and some smoke pyrotechnics? i mean, i am glad they filmed it during the day, but i am confused by the disparity.

3. sub class

i wish i could describe how poorly mnet shot this. it's not a fucking mama stage, it's a dance stage!! we need to see the choreo properly!!!! and together!!! obviously i don't care about stitching together different takes for the final edit but just...not having a continuity at all in the choreo is a bit jarring. again, i am also not sure how one is supposed to evaluate how well these dancers did, because i can barely see what people are doing. or who the main dancers are. i know i'm railing a lot on mnet here but i can't give an accurate reading of the dancers because legitimately it is so hard to tell what's going on. if they want to bill this as a legitimate dance show, why are they shooting it like a kpop performance? the camerawork for kpop serves a specific function: to add to the visual spectacle and to highlight the idols' faces. you don't need either of those things for shoot choreography, so why do we keep getting closeups of dancers' faces? not that these dance videos aren't spectacle-y or fun, because they very much are, but they really suck at their one primary function, which is displaying the choreo.

4. x class

this is definitely the one where the camera work is the closest to what it should be, but then they go and fuck it up by adding rain! just the groundwater would have been fine, but noooo they had to add the extra rain so there would be extra water drops on the lens!! this is my favourite choreo of all four of these, i think there's the most cohesion and (excluding the rain) it's got a good mix of spectacle with the water and the blacklight and the right camera angles to show the choreo mostly well. i still don't understand why they cut in those sections that don't fit with the rest of the flow though. why. you could have one-taked this and it would have looked dope as fuck. i agree that lip j stands out the most, obviously it's her choreo so it's the best suited to her character and abilities.

if it wasn't a random lottery draw they should at least have the courtesy of showing people why who picked who!! that's the most interesting part! and i'm not that surprised about wayb being eliminated, prowdmon really stomped them into the ground with that revenge energy. i'm interested in this larger scale performances concept, because i'm not really sure what that looks like in this particular context. if they do end up on youtube i will review them! and you're not oversharing at all, the context is fine! i don't mind reading it as information, i just don't like actually watching it with my own eyes. i can't watch that kind of thing in reality tv because it makes me want to sit everyone down like a kindergarden teacher and go "ok, now why are we all yelling?". too many years of tense rehearsal conflict negotiation and i just want to whack everyone upside the head. it's not very cathartic for me lmao. i have no doubt that everyone is friends because dance scenes are small and i'm sure they've all worked together lots, but even just the editing sets off my fight or fight reflexes.

for context, i got into a spat with someone yesterday and in the midst of that, i see (limited of course) a reply to fer of all people so naturally i had to open the tweet in my browser to see it and:

she with confidence claimed publicly that i wrote a fic for lads because in the post i made here on tumblr for a fic i wrote a tag "not gonna name names (emma) but this is my angry love child with someone (emma)" and who fucking knows how long she has believed this and how many people she has told, but most of you who follow me know exactly which emma i referred to dozens of times on this blog, and if you don't, i'll give you a hint: it wasn't lads. how my "angry love child with emma" turned into "i hope emma gets angry by it" lmao i will never understand

it's so fucking easy for them to lie like this on twitter and have it go unchecked because most people on there will never go bother to see anything for themselves and just blindly believe what they say. but it's such a wild concept that when i receive anons about them i would at least have to courtesy to check and verify if what my anon is saying actually happened before publishing anything about it because unlike these people, i don't spread lies without proof. i did that ONCE and apologized for it.

now fer doesn't have me blocked on cc. there's literally no reason for her to have not received my message, but i'll give her the benefit of the doubt. i don't interact with any of them who have me blocked because they have me blocked, duh. that's a them problem though because i have issues with a lot of them and i'm going to make them clear. me messaging lads directly is because of her involvement in a lie that was made up about me regarding her. i don't talk about these people on my own, i only post things when i receive anonymous messages about them because guess what, i'm not the only person who thinks bls are shit. lads is full of shit claiming that the only reason people know who i am is because i talk about them considering she has had me blocked since march. do you know what i was posting about back in march? harry's gender. it has never been about anything beyond me thinking harry is trans and bls having a fucking problem with that and i'm tired of them lying about it and claiming this started because i was talking shit about them. i don't have to lie about any of them when all of the harmful shit that they've said is out in the open. i'm tired of bls acting like their reaction to people saying harry could be trans isn't the reason why they're now so heavily scrutinized, or that their fetishizing little "community" is normal and we're all just mean bullies who won't let them live. kindly fuck off.

I'm glad you're here because the toxicity in the VM fandom is overwhelming. It's really too bad that so many project their ideas of friendships and romantic relationships onto VM, that they can't step back and see the actual relationship VM have. It's like if VM's version of friendship doesn't match theirs, it's invalid. I think that's why VM continually surprise people -- VM's ideas of how they work together are just very different from what people think they are like.

hi anon this is rly sweet but i’m not gonna sit here and pretend like i’m not guilty of playing into the toxicity of the fandom, esp when i first joined. i certainly was not any better than the people you’re talking about, but i’m trying to improve myself everyday. it took a lot of self reflection and stepping back to really see the consequences of my actions, so i’m definitely not unproblematic as much as i try to be!! like if u scroll to see my past tweets they are v embarrassing and don’t represent what i believe now, and i’ve had to learn a lot as well (and i’m still learning!) i think it’s good to remember that everyone is human, and that’s not excusing problematic behaviour but it’s just a reminder to have more sympathy and give everyone the benefit of the doubt at times.

now, i’m definitely more conscious of what i choose to tweet etc. i mean, at the end of the day, i’m here for v/m, that’s the reason why i’m still part of the fandom. sure the toxicity is a part of it, but it’s present in every fandom no matter where u go! i guess u just have to know where to draw the line at times, you know? everyone has their own opinions, which is a part of life, so i’ve learned to just pick the battles i want to fight and if something upsets me i just generally don’t engage bc i’m super non confrontational oops 😫 but in all honesty, i’m here for fun times and i’ve met some rly sweet people on here so that’s definitely a plus!!

Good, good, let all that anger out. Fandoms can be maddening at times, I feel ya. You call them names, yo! Let’m know how you feel!

Okay. Now that that is out of the way, let me look at this post again.

Hmm... Lots to address here! Mikhail, Fei Long, Yoh, Kirishima, Suoh, oh dear! Where to begin?

Perhaps with our favorite bodyguard and first assistant. Reason why we will get Mikhail’s backstory and not theirs is because... well... Mikhail in part of the Boss Trio. You could ask, “but we ain’t got Asami’s backstory in Finder either!!! Just give Mikhail a novel instead and be done with it!!” and that... that would actually make sense. Maybe a novel would be able to delve into the kind of subtlety and explore details that a manga can’t because they’re two different mediums and yadda yadda. Oh well, regardless: he gets a backstory because he is in the second tier of main characters (the first tier is Asami and Akihito only). Suoh and Kirishima are not (they are in my heart, but I don’t think that counts, sadly).

Now as to the whole “canon” thing...

Even before the scanlation is released, I will go ahead and say this: Fei Long and Mikhail are not a canon couple yet. A couple means two people in a relationship. Two people invested in it. If Mikhail is into Fei Long, but Fei Long doesn’t give a hoot about Mikhail, then no, we do not have a couple. And because I know that Fei Long will not magically fall head over heels in love with Mikhail in this chapter, I will repeat: they are not canon yet.

Emphasis on the yet, because honestly? Finder belongs to Yamane Ayano and she can make them a couple if she so pleases. Does the fact their their sex scene is being used as a selling point for the new volume mean anything story-wise? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t. Will the fact Mikhail apparently asks Yuri to let Fei Long go and keep him instead make Fei Long look at him differently, as in, more... romantically? Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. We don’t know. It might happen, it might never happen.

All I know is that Fei Long loves Tao as a son, he loves Asami as a man, he loves Yoh as a (business?) partner (friend with benefits? This one is hard to put a label on), and he loves Mikhail as a... oh wait. He doesn’t love Mikhail in any way. He has been shown to have no feelings at all for Mikhail, other than being slightly amused and pissed off by his shenanigans in FnR.

Their sex scene? A quick reminder of how much he enjoyed that:

Yeah he loved it alright. (ETA: this is sarcasm. Clearly Fei looks far from happy or even horny, my friends)

So yeah, they are not canon yet, they might become canon in the future. But in all honesty, the more I look at them together as a couple, the more I feel Yamane Ayano will have to operate a legit miracle to convince me that Fei Long will be even an iota invested in this relationship. It’s not like they’re starting from scratch - they’re starting from a -5. And the whole “I will sacrifice myself for you and you will fall in love with me” is just so... bad that I really doubt sensei would go down that road.

But again, you never know.

All we can do, as usual, is wait and enjoy the ride (EVEN BECAUSE IT’S KIRISHIMA IN THAT DAMN CHOPPER MY DUDES! OUR MAN IS BACK!)
