#Jason is super pissed about the street kids going missing and even more worried about them
Text
Halloween prompts year 2 day 15
Hood remained silent, even as he clenched the gun tightly in his hand. He hadn't even seen a hint of green portals or blond elfs but 200 witnesses couldn't all be wrong.
All of them had stated that a white haired meta with a gas mask was working with a blond elf with a leaf mask and that they had been the ones kidnapping the kids and teens of Gotham.
Jason had heard stories of fairies snatching kids and infants, sometimes swapping them out with a sickly one of thier own. But there were no trades that Jason knew of. Only missing kids.
Hell, all of the biggest child gangs around Crime Alley and the Narrows were gone.
As in gone gone. Not a single member was left nor any trace of where they could have been taken to. As much as he hated to admit it, he might need to ask for help from the Justice League Dark...
---
Link stared down at the kids from his rooftop perch.
They looked...cleaner. Happier. They had gained a healthy amount of weight, no longer stick thin and weak looking. They had season appropriate clothing without holes and others hidden away in chests and armours for the coming seasons far off from now.
His spirit friend, Phantom, had panicked a bit after he realized what they were doing was trafficking, but calmed down once he pointed out that these kids would have a much better life in Hyrule than they would have had in the rotting trashpit that was Gotham.
If they would have lived much longer at all
Still, thier presence here was mutually beneficial. Hyrule had lost over 80% of its population in the Great Calamity and they were no where close to regaining the population they once had. All of thier forts, training areas, ect were specifically targeted and destroyed in the attacks and gardians and monsters were left in the ruins to ensure they could not rebuild what was lost
Which led to the bigger issues at hand. All the empty occupations.
The castle, and thus castle town, were ground zero for the disaster that wiped out the Hylian peoples. With it many businesses and trades were lost. Hyrule had few soldiers and those they did have desperately needed armor, weapons and training.
That wasn't all. Hudson construction had attempted to repair Castle town and eventually the castle, but they were wood workers, not stone masons. They knew little of the craft that was needed.
There were lessons and information in the castle archives covering most of the jobs and trades, as well as how to proform them, but the princess didn't see it as a priority. They didn't have the people necessary to teach these crafts and the castle and town surrounding wasn't really a priority anyway. Not with all the people who still needed help around the kingdom.
Phantom helped a lot too. Other than helping them build towns for the kids (the child gangs actually really liked having a town all to themselves) he did a lot of other random jobs around the kingdom, much like Link himself.
Unfortunately, his next trip to Gotham lead to a run in with the "Red Hood" and the phrase, "Was that a fucking fruit grenade?!" Link did not know what the word "Fucking" meant but the Hood man would not tell him. He is learning a lot of new words from this guy, words that Phantom appearently didn't like cause he loudly scolded Red Hood like a naughty child the first time they met. It was hilarious to see this tiny 15 year old tell off a giant tank of a man.
Link couldn't see the mans expression due to the odd red helm the man wore, but he could tell he was cowed, even if just a bit. Then he began speaking to someone who wasn't there while pressing his finger to the side of his helm where his ear should be. Is Red Hood ill? Does he have a mind sickness like the ones Phantom told him of when describing his parents? Or is this something Link doesn't yet understand...either way he doesn't think he's getting more children for Hyrules future in this trip...or anytime soon if those ominous masked people landing on the rooftops around them had any say in the matter.

Reunion
Jason Todd & Damian Wayne (Corvid AU)
Word Count: 1109
Summary: Reunions are sometimes pretty sweet.
He was out of town when it all went down, but he’d have to be dead again in order to have not heard about ‘Bruce Wayne’s Biologicals Son Coming Out of the Woodwork’ and the whole snafu in Gotham that’d followed. A smile crept its way onto Jason’s face as he entered city limits. If Damian was here, it was likely you weren’t far behind. His little hellion family would be reunited soon enough
First though, he had to reestablish his hold on Crime Ally now that he was back . . .
~
As fate would have it (or rather, as Oracle’s stalker-like knack for tracking the batfam would have it), Jason found Bruce waiting for him next to his favorite gargoyle right as he was about to call it a night.
“Old man,” he greeted, hand falling to the gun at his hip just in case this turned ugly.
“Jason.”
Wow, my real name. He’s gotta be freaking out more than I thought.
“Come by the manor tomorrow. You need to meet your brother.”
“Why? Tim not up to it?” Jason’s mouth was running despite the fact that he was definitely going to be there. “Or did the brat already get Dickhead to back off? I heard he’s feral even compared to me.”
Bruce’s jaw clenched, bringing a smile to Jason’s covered face. “He wants to meet you.”
“He looked you up after he hacked into the Batcomputer,” Barbara’s voice came through the helmet’s speakers before Jason could voice his confusion.
“First a kid steals your tires, now one breaks into your super-secret files. What kind of riff-raff are you letting into the manor these days, Brucie?”
“Dinner. Tomorrow. Be there.”
Jason snickered at the tightness of Batman’s voice as the caped vigilante dove into the night. “Fucking tool,” he muttered to the empty air.
“You really shouldn’t antagonize him, Hood.”
“And you really need to get off my comms before I have Roy download all sorts of horse porn onto your rig.”
There was a quiet chuckle. “Missed you too, Jason.”
Right. Now to bed.
~
He’s taller, was all Jason could think as he stepped into the cave and laid on the boy he’d helped raise for years that was now standing right in front of him. The change in height hadn’t changed the kid, though, based on the tense excitement that had Damian practically vibrating.
A flicker of movement to the side--Bruce skulking about--gave Jason pause. As subtle as he could, he shook his head and zipped through the League Sign Language for, “Safehouse. Tonight.”
Outwardly, Damian didn’t acknowledge him, but a veil of false calm dropped over the boy, stilling his movements. Talia would be proud. “You must be the dead one,” his lightly-accented voice greeted coldly.
They must be trying to hide his real heritage, thought Jason in response to that smothered accent. Shame. “Bold talk from a kid that had to be moved to fucking Gotham of all places for protection.”
“Boys!” Bruce’s bark announced his arrival into earshot.
“Oh relax, Brucie,” Jason soothed sarcastically with an easy smile as he ruffled his adopted son’s hair, much to the kid’s mock-disdain. “We’re just messin’ around.”
“Still. Enough. Both of you get upstairs; your brothers are waiting for you.”
“Oh joy. The mean Robins get to meet with the happy one and the depressed one.”
“Damian isn’t Robin.”
“Not yet,” Damian snapped. “It’s my right as--”
“You’re not doing anything until you learn to follow the Rule.”
Damian’s silence spoke volumes about his thoughts on that Rule.
~
Jason was on the roof of his apartment building waiting for Damian come midnight that same night. He had no doubt the kid could slip through any defenses Bruce had constructed with the intent to cage him, and Jason had slid a note with the address into his pocket earlier. Now it was just a matter of--Nevermind. Speak of the Devil.
The kid stumbled during his landing because of the obvious excitement that coursed through him. “Baba!” he shouted as he tackled Jason in a tight hug.
“Hey, Dami,” Jason greeted, the first genuine smile he’d had in months blooming on his face. “It’s been a while.”
“Whose fault is that, asshole?” the kid snapped even though he didn’t loosen his grip in the slightest.
A chuckle bubbled up from Jason’s chest. “Your mama would be pissed if she heard you talkin’ like that.”
“Yeah, pissed at you.” His face was still buried in Jason’s stomach due to the hug. Not that Jason wanted to let him go any time soon.
“Good point,” he admitted.
Those big, green eyes--so similar to the Pit without him having to take a dip in it--turned to look up at him. “Why didn’t you want Father to know we’ve met before?”
At that, Jason sighed. “I don’t know if you’ve been around long enough to have figured it out, but dear old Dad doesn’t exactly like me. I don’t want him judging you for me having ‘tainted’ you or something.”
“I am not ashamed--”
“Neither am I, and as far as I’m concerned, you’re still my kid. God knows it’d kill Bruce to show anyone any affection, so someone’s gotta treat you right.”
If possible, the hug got tighter. “I’ve read his files on you, and I won’t ask why Father doesn’t like you.”
Damn if the kid wasn’t freakishly perceptive, because Jason had been dreading answering that question. Because I’m not Dick, because I’m a street rat to the core, because I think for myself instead of blindly following his orders, because I’m too angry, because I got myself blown the fuck up--
“But know that I also don’t care. You and mama were there for me.” Damian didn’t bother to add ‘when no one else was.’
“Love you too, Dami. This place will always be here if you want to get away from the manor . . . or just want to see me.”
“Thank you, Baba.”
Now, Jason crouched so he could meet Damian eye-to-eye. “And don’t worry about your Mama.” The kid looked away abruptly as if he’d been caught. Jason gently directed Damian’s attention back to his face so he could see just how serious Jason was. “My friends are already looking for her. We’re going to find her.”
The kid scoffed despite the relief scrawled all over his face. “As if you could if she didn’t want you to.”
Jason barked a laugh. “True, but both of us are here now. Do you really think she’d want to stay away?”
“ . . . No.”
Good, ‘cause she showed up earlier tonight, and now I just need to convince her that you won’t reject her.

Welcome to the Family
I somehow managed to wake up early and have time to post before work! This is very rare, seeing as I usually sleep until the last second lol. But I guess quick warning for the next chapter for some gore and mess up stuff? It’s not super crazy but people usually give a warning stuff like this (insert shrugging emoji, lol)
Tumblr media
There’s a Web That You Have Wove pt. 6
Jason was pissed; he didn’t like playing the messenger boy and he most defiantly didn’t like playing phone tag. He was about to head down to get ready for patrol after locking himself in his room from the moment he got home from school, when he decided to knock on Halley’s door. He wouldn’t admit it but he’d been a real dick to her all week. It wasn’t that he was mad at her, it was more that he was mad at himself for letting what happened at the party get to him that much.
It wasn’t like anything even happened at the party, he just didn’t know what came over him. He was normally hot-headed but his fuse had been particularly short that night apparently. He didn’t know why he got so uptight when Halley’s friend joined them or why he just left to go off on his own, only to be annoyed when she invited him out with them. He could’ve just gone instead of wallowing in anger at the party still. He was going to apologize in his own Jason way later, with a bag of Caroline’s but when he saw her sitting with him at lunch, he just couldn’t stop himself was throwing the bag of food in the trash.
He was being stupid. He had no reason to be acting this why. Halley could hang out with whoever she wanted, it shouldn’t matter to him; it shouldn’t bug him but it did and he had no idea why. He didn’t even know why he knocked on her door, it wasn’t like he’d have anything to tell her. What was he going to say? I don’t like you like that but hey sorry I got jealous that you’ve been talking to another guy? No, that would sound pathetic, but here he was growing more irritated as he knocked again when he was met with silence.
Was she the one ignoring him now? That made him knock even harder for a third time only to be met with more silence. Without a second thought he pushed the door open, eyes darting around the room in annoyance, looking as if he was ready to start a fight. His features softened when he saw that the room was empty. At least he wasn’t being ignored, he huffed closing the door and making his way down the hallway. She was probably already downstairs getting ready for patrol, he figured.
When he did reach the Batcave he grew agitated again when he saw that she was nowhere in sight. He walked up to Bruce, who was already suited up and appeared to look miffed, as if that was anything new.
“Where’s Halley?” Jason questioned, looking around again to see if he missed her, the cave was pretty large after all.
“Out,” Bruce said sharply throwing Jason off. Bruce sounded like how he sounded when he was mad at Jason for doing something wrong.
“Oh, Master Jason, have you heard anything from her?” Alfred appeared, looking worried. “She went out with some friends and was supposed to be back for patrol by now. I’ve tried calling but it’s only gone to voice mail.”
Jason narrowed his eyes. Friends? As in plural, friends? Since when did she have friends? He knew about Dylan and Alfred wouldn’t look this worried if he was talking about the Titans. So Jason now seethed as he was forced to sit back on a rooftop as Bruce handled some low-class street muggers so he could call Halley back. Bruce had him text her before they left for the night and grunted when Jason hadn’t gotten a reply. Jason sneered at his reaction. If Jason had pulled this stunt he’d be tracked down instantly and benched but here Halley was a couple of ignored calls from Alfred and five unread texts from Jason later and Bruce was taking it easy on her.
Jason cried out in frustration when he was sent to her voicemail, after returning the call she just gave him. Why would she call him back but now not answer? He thought about chucking his phone across the skyline but instead he gripped onto it tighter, remembering where Alfred said she was supposed to be. Looking down at Batman as he finished off the muggers, he jumped up and started heading towards the direction of the bowling alley Halley was supposed to be at.
The closer and closer he got, there was just something in the pit of his stomach telling him something was wrong. He was afraid of what he’d fine. Who were the friends she was supposed to be with? His last text to her made the pit in his stomach grow. Why did he send her that? He wasn’t thinking as he typed the message and hit send. It made him question why he was acting the way he was. He kept telling himself he didn’t like her like that, but the thought of walking in on her and Dylan made him want to punch a wall.
He landed on the adjacent building of the bowling alley and his eyes narrowed at the sight of a pair of cop cars parked outside, their lights flashing. Robin jumped down, sticking the landing and walking towards the scene. The patrol men gave him a slight glare, the GCPD weren’t a huge fan of the new Robin and the new Robin wasn’t a huge fan of the GCPD. Robin looked away from them a noticed a woman sitting in the back seat, looking quit frazzled and crying. He tried to hide his concern, not liking the vibe he was getting, especially when he saw Dylan standing next to the other cop car talking to another officer.
Robin walked over to them, determined to figure out what happened. He could hear Batman and Alfred calling him through his coms, most likely wanting to know what he was doing, but ignored them. Batman would already be tracking his location by now, he’d be on his way.  Robin looked at Dylan, noting how he stopped talking when he noticed the vigilante approach. Robin took the time to look over his face. The boy looked upset, distress written all over his face. Now the pit had completely consumed Robin’s stomach, but he still held his composer.
“What happened here?” He asked, looking at the cop.
The cop looked down at Robin, before rolling his eyes and answering, “Woman got assaulted, said some kid saw it and tried to help, but her attacker stabbed her with something and took her.” The police officer said, as if it was just another regular night. He motioned to Dylan now, “When we got here and started asking around to see if anyone saw this, this kid said his friend went missing a little time before the attack. The descriptions, even a bit hazy from the woman, seem to match up,”
“Your friends name?” Jason asked, hiding his worry. He knew who it was, he didn’t really need a name, but he still wanted confirmation.
“Halley,” Dylan stammered, clearly upset. “Halley Wayne. She just moved her a few months ago, she-,”
“Yeah, I’ve heard of her,” Robin held a hand up silencing him He looked back at the cop, “And the guy?” he jerked his head towards the car the woman sat in, “does she have any idea who it was that attacked them?”
“Nah,” the cop shrugged casually, “Said she couldn’t get a good look, said the guy drugged her so she doesn’t remember a lot. She only remembers seeing a lot of tally marks all over his forearms.”
           “Zsasz,” Jason swore.
“Yeah, probably, he did just escape from Arkham.”
“Well thanks for your information and enthusiasm, keep up the good work,” Jason spat sarcastically, sick of hearing how relaxed the cop was with this information. He turned to walk away, clicking his com link to call Bruce and Alfred. Once he grappled up to the roof of a building he spoke, he brought a shaky hand to the earpiece, “We need to track Halley’s phone.”
The said girl had just been coming too, feeling lightheaded as she took in her surroundings. Her head spun as she realized she was upside down. Her feet tied tightly together by rope attached to beams in the ceiling. Her arms tangled below her, tied together by her wrists with duct tape. Raising her arms to her mouth, she started to chew at the tape, trying to free herself and not waste any time. As she took in her surroundings and escape route options she felt a chill and wasn’t surprised to find her clothes had been discarded, leaving her in just her bra and underwear. This had been how they found Zsasz’s previous victims before they sent him to Arkham.
She spit out a chunk of tape, going back to work at the thick tape stuck to her skin. This was taking too long, she thought as she felt the goosebumps forming on her skin. Her eyes traveled around the room, biting her nerves as she saw other bodies hanging around the large, dimly lit room. They were woman, all like her, tied up and dangling, except these woman were already dead. The stench from the bloody pools underneath where they hung made her stomach wrench. She tried to focus on her wrists, blinking away the images that already burnt into her mind. Zsasz liked to murder his victims by carving them up and making them practically unrecognizable. Halley would be next if she didn’t move faster.
The tape was thin enough where she could rip herself free and she did just that, making her swing from the motion. Her head felt dizzy, unsure how long she’d been tied up like this and felt like she might pass out again from the blood rushing to her head. At least the drugs are wearing off, she grunted before starting to swing herself forward to gain momentum.  Heaving herself up, she tried reaching up to her ankles, anything to see if she’d be able untie herself. As she repeated the movement again she knew she was no longer alone from the sound of footsteps approaching.
Cursing, she stopped, trying to stop herself from rocking back and forth in order to play dead but her free hands would give her away regardless. Taking a deep breath, she just needed Zsasz to get close enough for her to attack. His footsteps got closer and she prepared herself to launch herself at him; even restrained like this she’d be able to at least knock him out. But he never came to her, walking right past him and towards another hanging body.
Halley watched with eyes wide as she realized one of them was still alive, the girl quivering as Zsasz grabbed her by the arm and bringing her face to his. They were inches apart as the girl’s eyes opened and began to cry. Halley tried pulling her legs apart to loosen the rope but knew it was pointless; she needed a knife. Zsasz had one, revealing it and raising it to the girl’s neck. He rested the blade towards the underside of her chin, pressing down and began slicing skin-,
“No!” Halley screamed, as the man began to peel the woman’s face off.
Zsasz stopped, the girl in absolute agony as the air met the fresh cut, blood pouring down the sides of her face.  “Don’t worry darling, your turns coming up,” he said cheekily to her before turning back to his work, the girl’s screams echoing off the walls.
“Please don’t! Just stop,” Halley shouted again but was ignored this time.
She watched mortified and felt the tears already leaking out her eyes as the psycho skinned the girl’s face off. She closed her eyes after a minute, feeling bile forming in her throat at the bloody mess in front of her. The girl’s pained cries faded, telling Halley that Zsasz’s work was finished. She kept her eyes closed, not sure she could stomach seeing the scene in front of her. She’d seen and done many things with her father, but this, they were above doing stuff like this. She heard Victor groan, making her sure Zsasz was adding another tally to his body.
She didn’t reopen them until she was pulled forward and hands rubbing against her chest, sliding up to her thighs as she was sized up by the man. She glowered at the man as he planned out where he was going to cut her up first. Wasting no more time, wanting the man’s hands off of her, she slammed her head forward, hitting his with a smack. He grunted, holding his head as he stepped back. She reached out for him, landing a punch against his cheek, causing him to stumble back some more.
He held his jaw with a laugh, “I see you’ve gotten out of your restraints, no matter, I have more.” He walked over to his little supply area and grabbed another roll of duct tape. As he got closer to her again, she swung again and he was forced to back up. “I thought you were just being stupid back in that alley, but you really like to fight now don’t you?”
Victor Zsasz moved back to his supplies, taking the syringe he used on her earlier. The drug he used to knock her out the first time should’ve lasted longer but it was no matter, he’d give her more. She’d put up a fight in the alley but once she was stabbed with this stuff she was out like a light in a matter of seconds.
He approached her again knife in one hand and syringe in the other. She flared about trying to knock them out of his hands. She succeeded in grabbing the knife, slashing at him, but also left herself open. As she stabbed him in the shoulder he also stabbed her in her own. She cursed, trying to fight off the drug but between that and her already shaky head, she couldn’t help but let her eyes close.

Welcome to the DC Universe - Dick Grayson x Reader Headcanons
Summary: You suddenly drop into Dick’s, which means you are now suddenly stuck in the DC Universe.
A/N: Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted in a while, had a lot going on this past week (and weekend general) so I didn’t have any time to write. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this because it’s way longer than it was originally was supposed to be. (Seriously, this is the longest headcanon I’ve done.) Love you all, let me know what you guys think, and please send in some requests, the inbox is open!
~It was an overly exhausting day for you, all you wanted to do was read fanfiction and take a nap three-hour nap.
~Well you were able to read the fanfic (On the one and only Nightwing, I might add.), the nap part well…
~Not so much.
~You were laying down in your bed nodding off when you hear something smash and break in the kitchens.
~Your eyes busted wide open, you were home alone, with not much to protect yourself from the intruder.
~Well you improvised on the weapon part with an overly heavy textbook that you had on your desk.
~You quietly walked out of your room, the book raised, and your mind screaming “THIS IS HOW PEOPLE DIE IN HORROR MOVIES!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING????”
~Let's just say that you weren’t all in control of your mind at the moment.
~Going around to the kitchen, you see nothing amiss, just the broken bowl in the middle of the floor.
~You were still shaken but you shook it off, looking for a broom to pick up the mess and seriously hoping that your house wasn’t haunted.
~You weren’t even able to leave the kitchen when a bright light literally blinds you, and then you were just falling.
~There wasn’t even enough time to get a good enough scream, just a really strong yelp, as you landed on a freaking couch face first.
~Groaning, you turn yourself over, letting out a little “Ow.”
~Now, when you noticed that it was pretty dark out, that’s when the shock wears off and you start panicking, BeCaUsE tHiS iS nOt WhErE i LiVe AnD wHy Is It DaRk OuT!!!
~Yeah, you were having a panic attack.
~Well it turns out that you appeared in your fav’s apartment, not that you really knew that, you were just too busy freaking out over the oddly familiar place...
~Anyway, Dick was just getting back from patrol, when as he opened a window to his apartment (Because they don’t know how to use a door apparently.), an extremely bright light shines throughout the apartment, a girl seemingly out of nowhere falls onto his couch.
~Dick gets clear of the window, back against the wall, and his brain processing what he just saw.
~Meanwhile, you didn’t know he was there so, you dashed over to the window and realized you had absolutely no clue as to where you were, but everything looked so familiar but you were pretty sure you had never seen this skyline anywhere.
~Literally screaming with your mouth closed because you didn’t know how to process this information.
~Dick was watching this, seriously trying to see if you truly were a threat or not because you seriously didn’t know what the hell was going on either.
~He decides to show himself while you were looking out the window.
~When your vision was covered by black and blue spandex, you screamed.
~Then proceeded to do a too quick of a backup into the couch, to then fall backward and just because the universe wants to have more of an excuse to laugh at you, you hit the back of your head with the coffee table on the way down to the floor.
~You let out a small “Ow…” yet again.
~You were seriously surprised that you didn’t have heart attack throughout the whole situation, but maybe a slight coma, or at least a good-sized bump on the back of your head.
~Low key, you were ready to cry (Tears were literally building up at the corners of your eyes, from either shock or the pain of hitting the table, you weren’t sure which.) seriously you thought you lost your mind.
~Dick winced as he heard the impact, and the opens the window, getting himself inside.
~The next thing you know you were sitting on his kitchen counter, an ice pack put on the back of your head and a Nightwing making a couple of calls to Batman and then the League.
~After a while, you had your head in your hands muttering questions like, “Why am I in the DC Universe?”, ”How do I make it home?”, and the one that got Dick’s attention “Why am I in Grayson’s apartment?”
~Cue an awkward conversation on how you know who he is, where you’re from and the story of getting there, even if there wasn’t much to tell.
~Either way, he could tell that you weren’t lying.
~”Look, I know this is all overly crazy for you so you can stay here till we can figure out what to do.”
~You let a small smile creep onto your lips, because hey, it could be way worse, plus you get to stay with your fav.
~He couldn’t stop himself from saying you had a pretty smile.
~Then you blush and that can be the situation that could describe the rest of your relationship.
~Literally no joke, he would compliment you on something and then the next thing you know, you’re all flustered because this situation seriously should have been impossible.
~Thankfully it was possible, otherwise you wouldn’t be hanging out with the Batfam.
~It’s to be expected though, because Dick is Dick and everyone at least tolerates (This mostly Jason (Even then, not so much), and Damian says he might not hate him but he does love his brother.) him.
~So since you were staying with him, you see a lot of the Batfam.
~At first almost everyone was wary, but after five minutes of talking to you, they seriously love you.
~Except Damian, he was another story all together, and you were expecting it but didn’t like it.
~Like the kid was raised to trust almost no one, so you couldn’t blame him.
~Dami was weirded out by how like understanding you were, and how you knew what he was like, almost to the T.
~Then one day he had to stay at the manor because of a seriously bad cold, and since this was the one day Alfred was out, you were the lucky person to babysit the sick assassin.
~To you, that kid was lowkey scary sick or not, but he seemed to have less of a cold shoulder throughout the first couple of hours, so that could be counted as a pretty good win.
~Later that night you went to check on him, finding him fast asleep, and actually looking his age and the most relaxed you had ever seen him.
~You walked over to him and felt his temperature with the back your hand, and he seemed not to have a high fever anymore.
~Seriously, you felt really bad for the kid, he never really even got the chance to be a kid.
~You move his hair from his face, then after a little bit, you turn around to walk away when his hand shot out of nowhere to grab your wrist.
~Crap crap crap, now he’s probably really annoyed that you were there.
~”Don’t go.” His eyes were still groggy, and he still wasn’t feeling to well.
~Cue your heartbreaking and melting all at the same time.
~”I’ll stay, Dami.” You were pretty sure that this was the only time you were able to use that nickname.
~Then in the way early hours of the morning that’s how Dick finds you guys, with you on the bed and Damian curled into your side.
~Seriously, his heart soared and it was one of the most cutest sights he had ever seen.
~He honestly was so happy, like his little brother finally opened up to the girl that he’s falling for. (Yeah, he’s not afraid to admit that only to himself.)
~May or may not have taken a picture for blackmail evidence that this actually even happened.
~Anyway that did not allude to him that this could be a problem in the future.
~Now that Damian is attached to the both of you guy's hip, then there was absolutely no time for you guys to be alone.
~Dick often gets paired with Damian the only one who actively gets along with him during patrol, and after the heart-to-heart you and Damian had, he started going to your guy’s apartment afterwards.
~He even has gone to the apartment after school.
~It confuses the hell out of you sometime because you guys are in Bludhaven, and he goes to school in Gotham???
~One time he brought Jon, and you again were dying because he’s so sweet.
~You are now the go-to babysitter for everyone, not that you really minded.
~So after a long day at the station (and even patrol), Dick just wants to chill while you tell him about your day he wants to tell you about his feelings in this scenario but he wants it to be special.
~But nope, you’ve got your focus on the always pissed off Wayne, and the super nice half Kryptonian.
~Like seriously, pay Dick some attention, he misses you.
~Well when he came back home after work, really sore from the night before and the apartment was way too quiet than normal while walking in.
~This got Dick on high alert, because Damian usually gets out at 2:45 and Jon usually gets there soon after, so something was seriously wrong.
~He went further in and he felt his blood drain, with his apartment in a complete wreck.
~Calling your guy’s names throughout the apartment, there was no response and he was trying his best to stay calm.
~He called Bruce, and soon enough he was in the Batcave looking through all the street cameras’ footage, and everything else to try and find you guys.
~Bruce at this time was getting Clark caught up in the whole drama, and getting him to look for you guys too.
~Meanwhile, in a empty warehouse by the docks, there you guys were, with you tied to a chair (Your mouth was duct taped too), Damian chained upside down (gagged also, plus unconscious), and Jon in a cage. (You were pretty sure that there was kryptonite in there because the poor boy was knocked out.)
~You were too busy worrying over them to notice the presence that there was a presence behind you, just watching with amusement.
~When an insane chuckle flows through the air to the left of you, you feel the blood drain out of your face, because now the situation really hit home.
~That’s when you realize that, maybe the others wouldn’t get there on time….
~(You’ve read Death in the Family, and even though you thought Jason was a cool dude, you didn’t want to die like that.)
~You kinda were hoping that Harley was there because she’s great and because maybe you would have had a higher chance of surviving??? Maybe???
~Either way, you’ll never know since she wasn’t there.
~The Joker started walking over to you, and well, you were scared.
~He was just laughing his eerie cackle the entire time, and when he made to right in front of you, there was no way in knowing what he was going to do.
~You looked away, not wanting to see him up close (Or at all, really.).
~So all you could do was yelp (Didn’t sound like much, your mouth was taped.) when he suddenly yanked you by the hair to face him.
~Little tears were starting to fill your eyes, making him laugh all the more harder as he then ripped the duct tape off.
~Seriously, not the way a person wants to get a wax, hence why you let out a small cry of pain.
~”So dearie, what’s a girl like you doing in Gotham? Or in this world in general?” You didn’t want to answer that for sooooooo many reasons, but that moment you were too petrified to answer.
~He didn’t seem to care because he kept on going, pulling out a knife and playing with it.
~”You know, I normally wouldn’t care when one of these twerps with powers come along asking about someone else who doesn’t belong here, well I wouldn’t give a damn!”
~You narrowed your eyes, but stayed quiet.
~Then he starts to circle you, ”But when I notice the Bat brats with a person who suddenly appears out of nowhere, well, it warms my heart to see them care about someone.”
~Oh shit. Did he see you with them while they were in costume???? (They normally are good at changing beforehand but sometimes you would walk to the store at night and Dick would join you if he was by. So you’d talk to “Nightwing” for a bit till you got home.) You were panicking, but you didn’t let it show.
~”So then I thought, well wouldn’t it just be so nice to have you die, and watch Bird Boy #1’s face to see you all,” You cry out when he slashes your arm deeply with the knife. “All broken and bloody.”
~Crap, you seriously hoped that Dick was close.
~Damian was beginning to stir back to life, your cry making him slam his eyes open.
~The Demon Child is now pissed, but is currently unable to do jack shit.
~The Joker keeps talking, while both Damian and you were trying to get out. (You were trying but your arm was hurting too much to move.)
~”Oh this is so much fun,” Another slash to the opposite arm, but this time so much slower. “Don’t you think so?”
~With either a burst of courage or maybe stupidity, you grit your teeth and tell him, “Go take a cactus and shove it up your-”
~All of a sudden a window breaks open, and in comes Nightwing, in all his amazing glory.
~You were so freaking relieved, but there was a whole lot of blood pooling out of you, and your vision was going fuzzy around the edges.
~By the time that they got the Joker uncapacitated, you were barely awake.
~While Bruce got Damian, and Clark got Jon, Dick went straight to you, cutting the ropes holding down your arms and legs.
~His worry was skyrocketed to the max when you fell forwards, him catching you instantly.
~”Nightwing….” You mutter out, feeling way too cold. “It wasn’t your fault….”
~In all honesty he was blaming himself for everything, he knew that and so did you.
~”Just hang on (Y/N), you’ll make it out of this.” He lifts you up, running out of there.
~”Dick, thank you for making my life so much brighter-”
~”No, don’t talk like that. I’m not going to let you die.” He was determined.
~”Love you, Dick…” And with that everything went black.
~In complete and utter honesty, you were seriously thought you were dead.
~Until you woke up in the Batcave infirmary.
~Especially when you see a certain Grayson brooding staring at the wall.
~He must of noticed, because his stare snapped back to you and you could see some of the stress melting off his shoulders.
~”Hey.” Is all you say, throat a little sore from lack of use.
~”Hi.” Is what he says back and there weren't any need for other words as he brought is lips to yours.
~You were pretty sure angels were singing in your mind.
~Same with Dick.
~When the rest of the Batfam found out everyone was like FINALLY
~Damian is the only one that had a straight face but he was seriously happy for you guys, was low key jealous though.
~Either way, from that day out you guys stuck together, through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
