Thank you for asking that brilliant question.

First of all, thank you soo much!! I'm glad you think my Zane is cute!! <33

As for the "evolution" here it is:

The first time I drew Zane, I drew him like this:

Yeah.... nowhere close to the Zane I now draw, lol.

Tbh, I nvr really liked how I drew him here. To me, he just didn't feel real(?). I dunno if that's the right word, lol. He looks more like a rectangle than a human.

But all in all, I just wasn't satisfied with the results. For this fanart, I just needed to draw Zane so I did my best in this art.

The second time I drew Zane was-- welllllll, I honestly love drawing Zane, he kinda is my fav character to draw (his hair is soooo easy, lol) But I started doodling Zane here and there in class.

I do not recommend doodling in class. Be responsible and work on ur classwork, lol.

I don't have all my doodles but here is one

As u can see Zane is starting to get more shape here, lol.

He's starting to look more human (is that the right word?) than a rectangle, lol.

The third time I drew him was for a fanart from Shogun: Becoming by @nickelwick

(sry about the bad quality)

Now this was a completely different art style in coloring/drawing but with all that aside-- you can see a major shift in style when it comes to drawing Zane.

(now in retrospect the eyes could use a little improvement)

Anyways, I wanted to draw Zane with a different look. From the time between the first drawing and the second, I was tweaking/improving my art style.

The fourth time was for my screenshot redraw:

Honestly, here, you can see a huge change.

I would say that the fanart for Shogun: Becoming seriously inspired me when I drew this.

I think the tip I can give you when it comes to drawing characters is to first try to find an art style that you are comfortable with drawing.

In my case, if you scroll wayyyyy down in my DeviantArt account, you can see that the first couple of artworks are all done in different styles--I was in the "experimenting" stage.

In all honesty, I believe that all artists out there--no matter how good their art is--can improve. There is always room for improvement and betterment (dunno if that's a word, lol).

So when it came to Zane (and my art style as well) I started experimenting.

Then after I was done with experimenting, I started improving my art.

Here is the fifth time I drew Zane.

This pic is actually the "foundation" of all of my Zane pics. The colors, expressions, and clothes were all done bc I experimented.

It took time--a lot of time-- to get this drawing done.

But that's how we all start, lol.

The sixth time, I drew the og Zane.

He was quite a challenge, lol. Perhaps it was the color pallet or the fact that I was rushing to get this done for Ninjago's 13 anniversary, but he honestly could use an improvement, lolll.

Now I can do A LOT of pics to show the "evolution" but imma just use the latest art.

This pic took like 10 mins (at most) to draw. Compared to the fifth time which took hours.

Drawing Zane has honestly become my fav pass-time, ngl.

I would say to all the artists out there-- just relax. Ur art doesn't have to be purr-fect. No one starts out as a professional. (unless u have some cool powers that make u draw perfectly)

Be patient with yourself.

Everyone can draw. But it just takes time, practice, and perseverance.

So don't give up. If I had given up on drawing Zane after the first pic, then I would have never drawn this cutie pie, lol.

Anyways, I hope this answers your question!! I honestly had a lot of fun with this "evolution" post. Feel free to ask me more about the other ninjas. But ngl, I think Zane is the only character (as of rn) that I feel the most comfortable with and has the most development, lol.

I love ur Turning Red Ninjago drawing!! Its sooo cutteeeeeeee!!!

And second, ofc!! :D

So first I got the OG pic

then I studied it for bit.

The style of Turning Red is different than my style and i really wanted to draw this pic in my style so I first made a refrence.

Also in turning red, the people in the pic are girls who have different bodies than the ninjas. SO i had to keep that in mind.

Using the base i started drawing each of the ninjas

I dont have the og sketches bc i cleaned it all up and merged the layers :')

they are lost to time, lol

but needless to say they were weird and unproportioned.

Here's one i managed to find:

i started with COle bc he's my fav, lol.

Then I did Zane. (he was sooo hard to do, lol)

Afterwrds i did the other boys and the i got this:

Then i started coloring

Zane's facial expressions were so hard to get right

then i added some more colors:

On thing i do to check for mistakes is place my work on a dark background :

there were A LOTTT of mistakes, lollll

but once i cleared that up then i started working on the background.

i based it off of the OG pic

i knew that i wanted a simple background so i just sketched a simple pic, avoiding details.

then i sstarted coloring it using brush that i felt fit the pic well

(the grayed brush is the one i used)

then i continued on:

I kept the opacity to a 72% with density of 38%

then i added the boys onto it

i adjusted the pic here and there and changed the white background to a soft yellowish-orange color.

i then added my signtures/watermark nd voila!!

The final piece is done!!! <333

i knew Macaque has ddied and I figured it was by wukong but only yesterday did it actually hit me that Wukong KILLED Macaque lol.

it didnt help at all that i just listened to the Underworld Saga from EPIC so that didn't help me with the feelings that came when i finally realized that my fav character killed my second fav character lolll

Yeah i picked up on taht... tho ig my biggest question was if LBD was trapped in that box-thingy how the heck did she return Macaque to the mortal plane? But ehhh whatever i don't care lol

Oof... yeah i only thought the blind eye thing was just for style for his giant shadow mummy thing lol... didn't take it as literal XD

but my friend @crystaleclipse10 did find a screenshot where the theory of Macaque being blind in one eye could be validated since he does have a scare and his eye is white

im not sure about the white fur thing bc i think that was just used as an animation effect... the only white fur i saw in that ep was here

the way tang is colored in black suggests that this is just an animation technique/style/effect to make that scene even more epic loll

Um... well I've made some online friends thru ao3. We're the Writers of Destiny. The Prophecy of the Seven. The Ultimate friend group.

Lol.

But like on Tumblr? I guess I would consider ppl who I've chatted with on multiple occasions. Ppl who I dm. Ppl who I just reblog with like on and on. My mutuals. Etc, etc.

But I consider myself a very friendly person. I don't mind bring friends with ppl, but as of rn with like around 15 online friends, I think I'm all set rn, lol. But yeah. I guess it answers ur question?

Oh... that's kinda a tough question bc I haven't watched Ninjago fully. I like watched here and there between seasons 1-5 back when i was little. But from the seasons on, I've done my weird style of watching shows: use fandomwiki, fanfics, and yt. -_-

Yeah not the best way to watch the show.

In my defense I kinda just came into Ninjago again back in June 2023 due to the Ninjago Movie. But like I started being interested in watching the around Oct of last year, lol.

So like, that's why I'm rewatching it all in order (if i get the time to do that)

But based on what I've seen here and there, I would say the Overlord. He's like the worst character ever imo. But I guess he's needed to like be the villain, lol. But yeah I don't like him that much.

Hmm.. that's a really interesting question, ngl. It really depends on the fandom. Like, for PJO, it would be Percabeth.

But honestly... I am a multifandom lover. And my mind is kinda all over the place when it comes to writing fanfics. I just write whatever I feel at the moment. I don't really have a specific subject matter that I can write fics on.

I tend to get bored easily, so to speak. But that love and interest can easily get sparked up. So I really don't have a certain topic that I can write on and not get bored with.

I guess if you want an answer, I can write fluffy stories forever and never get bored of them, lol!!!

So if you're looking for family/romantic/platonic fluff, I am always available for that, lol!! Never have I gotten bored of that, and I don't think I'll ever get bored of fluff! <333

Few things about me are that I'm a huge stan of Zane (Ninjago), LadyNoir (ship from Miraculous), and Froggy(Prince Charlie) from The Land of Stories (book). I am also a HUGE stan of My Adventures with Superman and the new PJO TV Show. I am also a Christian girl.

I love, love, LOVE Ninjago!! Both the Movie and the Show!! In fact, the Movie was the main thing that reintroduced me to this beloved show. I used to watch it when I was younger but then I lost interest. I found the movie in June 2023 and have been a fan of both the show/movie ever since! I'm not entirely sure about DR... i like the concept and have seen all the spoilers but i prefer the OG series vibe wayyy more... prob just me lol.

I used to be a fan of Miraculous, but Season 5 made me lose interest. After LadyNoir became friend-zoned, the show went on a sad decline (at least in my perspective). But I LOVE the Movie!! And I also think that the Paris special (Shadybug and Claw Noir) is amazing!

Last but not least is Froggy. He's my favorite character from a book series called The Land of Stories. This series was the main spark that kindled my love for writing as well as reading! If y'all are looking for a series to read, I recommend that y'all check it out!

Lastly, I am also a born-again, spirit-filled Christian girl. If y'all have any questions regarding the bible or Jesus, feel free to ask me! I'll do my best to answer your question!!
