Dev Update After a week of being ill, I did some little bit of programming

What does this dev update contain?

Matthias doesn’t scare birds away

He doesn’t get attacked by tallbirds, malbatross and moose/goose (didn’t test moose/goose yet, but it should work), but he gets attacked by other avians that are hostile

If Matthias manages to kill a bird, he loses 40 sanity (he is still able to attack them, because I didn’t find any tutorials for it on klei forums and I have no clue how to make him unable to attack birds lul)

What is your favorite DST boss?

A mail time it is I believe!

I cannot state who is my favourite to fight due to me being, as one would say, a casual, but I’ll try my best. If talking about Together then:

all 3 versions of Reanimated Skeleton / Ancient Fuelweaver - The forest and cave versions I find adorable, adding to the concept that it’s a ram/goat-looking undead beast that looks like it comes from the depths of hell. And the slight idea that even the knowledgeable characters can construct the skeleton wrong because they are no archaeologists is funny to me.

Malbatross - simply put - Bird up!

An honourable mention goes out to Hamlet’s bosses - Ancient Herald and Iron Hulk for their unexplained lore nature and nice designs as well.

Don't starve Halloween costumes. I am dressed as the Malbatross and I am also dressed as a cat with purple and pinkish coloration.The next will be Molly, and I promise you I'm going to make her so cute in her costume.

I have a few ideas for a very polished piece I want to work on over the summer for a zine, and they're mostly based on classical art styles:

Idea 1: Art noveau! This one would be mostly based on 'the iris' by the famous Alphonse Mucha, with Charlie and roses instead, might change up the upper background a bit more with a border or otherwise though

Idea 2: Also art noveau! But it would be more akin to 'the four seasons' by the artist mentioned above, with focus on four survivors in a miniature scene in each season. (Maybe in some less risque posing/draping given the setting) This would require two pages of work to fit all four panels however

Idea 3: A winter scene of snow covered trees in the morning sunrise, and a pristine clearing gives way to a bloody fight between Wilson and the last hound of a wave. This one might also need two pages, this one I haven't thought the composition all the way through yet

Idea 4: Walter in a neoclassical style over a fire, sending light under his face as he tells a story that spooks even the adult survivors. Really this might just be an excuse to make an overly rendered painting with an undefined number of additional characters

Idea 5: A straight up study of a baroque or neoclassical painting, there are so many I can fit survivors into!!

Idea 6: A scene on a boat, done in my own style, though I's hard to pick between the lunar shores right before the full moon, the waterlogged area at the tiny time between dusk and night as the fireflies come out, or the majesty of a diving malbatross into an open shoal

Keep in mind this isn't a definitive poll, it's more so to see what kind of art people would prefer to see in the absence of a motif or theme... is what I would have said if tumblr wasn't blocking me from actually posting this with a poll included. ashes to ashes, sucks to suck

[Wingsley has a variety of different bird callers, both from his time on earth and his time in the constant, he’s even made one for the moose/goose and the malbatross! ..But he makes sure to get to a safe enough spot to use those. His callers can do a variety of different things with different results, if he plays them right, birds could either attack the first threatening thing they see, or lift him into the air in a tornado of feathers.. That sometimes ends up dropping him a bit afterward.]
