WYNONNA EARP

Synopsis :

Après de longues années d’absence, Wynona Earp retourne dans sa ville natale à Purgatory. Descendante direct du légendaire Wyatt Earp, elle découvre qu’une malédiction pèse sur sa famille depuis plusieurs générations. À contre cœur elle accepte cet héritage maudit qui consiste à renvoyer en enfer tous les démons assassinés par son arrière-arrière grand père qui reviennent à la vie le jour du 27è anniversaire de l’ainé des Earp. L’unique arme capable d’éliminer tous les damnés est le Peacemaker, un colt 45 ayant appartenu à son ancêtre qu’elle seule à le pouvoir de manier. Dans son combat, Wynonna s’efforce de briser cette malédiction avec l’aide de sa sœur Waverly, l’adjointe du shérif Nicole Haught et le mythique Doc Holliday immortel suite à un sort.

Une série malheureusement méconnue en France qui mérite bien un petit article. L’histoire se déroule sous fond de légende western dont le personnage principal qui est à l’origine de cette aventure n’est autre que le légendaire Wyatt Earp connu pour sa participation à la fusillade d'O.K. Corral en 1881. Si la 1re saison a un semblant de « déjà vu » par rapport au thème des morts-vivants, l’histoire évolue ainsi que les protagonistes. Il n’y a pas à proprement parlé de « héro invincible » et parfait. Ici, tous les personnages possèdent un côté sombre, se battent contre leurs propres démons, peurs ou faiblesses et leurs sentiments.

Wynonna Earp n’est pas une super héroïne aux supers pouvoirs, mais tout simplement un petit bout de femme qui doit faire face à une malédiction qui pèse sur se famille depuis des millénaires. C’est un personnage complètement loufoque voire par moment immature qui doit faire face à ses peurs, ses angoisses, ses faiblesses, ses doutes puisqu’elle va jusqu’à douter de ses propres capacités. Qui s’interdit d’aimer ou d’être aimée en retour d’où cette carapace qu’elle se forge. Si dans la 1re saison on la trouve abrutie voire énervante dans son comportement, son personnage évolue avec l’histoire et l’on découvre derrière cette carapace, une personne prête à se sacrifier afin de sauver tous ses proches.

Aidée de sa sœur Waverly qui au début de l’aventure, est juste la sœur de Wynonna Earp, fragile, sans défense qu’il faut protéger à tout prix. Sauf qu’en avançant dans l’histoire, Waverly prend de plus en plus d’ampleur, sort de l’ombre de sa sœur en devenant un personnage important voire indispensable.

Il ne faut pas oublier le légendaire Doc Holliday, rendu immortel par un sort dont on ignore de quel côté il combat. Le bien, le mal ou ses propres intérêts. Une légende qui va vivre bien des rebondissements.

Cette série se différencie de toutes les autres du même genre de part ses personnages et un humour entièrement décalé mais qui colle bien à l’histoire et aux protagonistes.
